QubeTubers.
This is something I mentioned once, last week and I'm not sure how many people actually took any notice (because it was in the PASBL TO and I mentioned Minecraft), but last weekend a group named QubeTubers took to the internet with a 48 hour continuous stream all in the aid of charity. They provided entertainment and competitions throughout their streams and I believe, I could be wrong but every time I went on this was happening, they had three completely different streams running for the whole 48 hours, if not longer. Their aim was to raise as much as possible for the charity and beat their previous record of $35,000.
The charity itself is Child's Play (no Mozz's allowed), which uses the donations it receives to provide computer games and consoles to childrens wards in various hospitals across the US. I believe that QubeTubers previous charity drives have all been towards Child's Play as well because all of the people who stream and were guests on the streams were all gamers themselves, which is why they're all willing to get behind Child's Play. And, during the streams, they read out testimonials from people who they'd helped or who support them due to their own child being or having been in the sort of situations that the games would ease as well as having people from within Child's Play on the streams for short talks or answering questions. As I said before, they had three streams running and I think the two that were easiest to find were both Livestreams and were being recorded by regular QubeTubers. But in addition to that, the third stream was an extra and contained numerous guests who were streaming within their own time-slots to bring in their fans and possibly more donations. A large number of the people who streamed were YouTube 'celebrities', but there were some others who were on who might not have been (I'm not familliar with every single YouTuber out there), but there were some big names from the world of Minecraft as well as some other games (but mostly Minecraft). As well as this, these guest streamers were given certain gifts that the QubeTubers had received, as well as any they could think up of their own, to give away during their streams which were usually for a modest cost to be entered into a draw or the highest donator within a certain time frame. But yeah, there were a number of giveaways from people like Yogscast, Direwolf20 and other Minecrafters, artists and donators. And everything was GLORIOUS... Okay, it wasn't. I don't know if this happened with anything else, but it was happening during the Direwolf20 section of the stream (my prefered Minecrafter over the Yogscast) so I don't know if it happened with other popular names. But basically some, uh, 'unsavoury' characters were DDOSing anyone who was attempting to stream during his section of the event, this included Direwolf, the person who kicked the event off (I can't remember her name for the life of me) and others. I'm sure everyone has certain opinions on these people, so lets move on to some entertainment. The main reason behind this post, other than it's easier and requires less thinking than the news post I'm working on, is that the streams from last weekend have started appearing on the QubeTubers YouTube page, including my favourite stream that I saw and I will share with you... It's basically all in Florastar's stream. I doubt anyone will know Florastar (but anything's possible) and she's incredibly knowledgeable about the Forestry Mod, to the point where she's know as the Bee Queen. She covers the forestry mod, but she also does a LP with her younger sister, Faunastar, who's in the stream with her. The big thing to know about Fauna is that she's musically talented, so I present to you, several links for the same vid, for your viewing pleasure... My Little Pony Intro Theme Want You Gone - Portal Payphone - Maroon 5 Call Me Maybe - Carly Rae Jepsen It's Over Now (from the webshow Little White Lie) The top secret song that everyone should listen to... Ps. I haven't tested the links personally, but Daisy tested the first couple for me, so the all should work because I didn't do anything different... |
