The sleep in your eyes calls you back to bed, finding out what woke you would have to wait till the morning.

Light filters in through the window, awakening you on this new day. You clean yourself up before heading out of the room, intent on locating Madoka, who would likely be trying to find out the source of the noise as well. It doesn't take long for you to find the shrine keeper, who is working with her Lycanroc to try and round up a herd of distressed Rock Pokemon. She beckons you over, likely needing your assistance.

"Good morning Terri, I hope you slept well." The trial captain looks a little tired this morning, like she hadn't gotten much sleep last night. "Did you get woken up last night as well? These Pokemon have been going crazy, it seems something happened in the caverns and forced them out. The Aron, Geodudes and Roggenrola begin to settle as Madoka's Lycanroc herd them into a nearby clearing. "I've got my hands full here, do you think you could go investigate for me? You'll need a Pokemon that can use Flash to see inside the caverns, it gets quite dark in there." You wanted to look around the shrine a little more and a chance to explore the caverns would likely involve you getting to check out the true shrine. The question was whether you were equipped to handle the situation on your own or not...
It had been a long, eventful, ultimately enjoyable day, and now Terri was fast asleep, both her and her team getting some well-deserved rest. "Mm... but why do we refuse the outside world? They can learn to walk in harmony with us..." she was mumbling in her sleep. And soon, whatever dream she was having was abruptly interrupted by a sudden and rather loud noise that got the mysterious Trainer to sit bolt upright in bed. "WAH! Tell! What?!" she exclaimed, looking all around. More loud crashing noises were all the response she got. Now much more awake, Terri turned her attention to the window, peering out of it in concern, but the shrine didn't seem under attack... regardless, it wasn't long until sheer sleepiness overpowered Terri's curiosity so thoroughly that she could do little else but go back to bed.

The next morning, Terri left her room, all cleaned up and dressed for the day ahead. And the first thing her mind was focused on was finding Madoka, try to find out just what was going on the past night. But as she saw Madoka, it was clear that the shrine keeper was busy with something. Her and her Lycanroc were trying to round up what appeared to be a number of distressed Rock-types, and upon spotting Terri, Madoka beckoned her over. "Good morning, Madoka," Terri responded. "I slept well. The noises woke me up, but not for very long." It turned out that whatever had happened last night had woken Madoka up as well, and had also driven the various Rock-types out of their cavern. She asked Terri if she would be willing to go in and see what was happening in there, considering the shrine maden was a bit occupied at the moment, warning Terri in the process that she would need a Pokémon with Flash to proceed, considering how dark the cave was.

Terri gave a small smile. While her eyes were quite good, and she felt rather at home in dark cavernous places, this did not translate to exceptional night vision, but by no means did this mean she was incapable of finding her way. "We've got this," she assured Madoka, producing a Psychic Ball and tossing it up. "Andromeda, engage!" she exclaimed, her Starmie appearing in a flash of light. "I'll need you to use Flash to light the way, Andromeda," said Terri. "We'll be exploring a cave to find out what drove out all the Rock-types last night."

"Of course I'll help," the Starmie responded, her core flashing a reassuring blue as she spoke. "Do you believe I will be needed to battle?"

"It's possible, but we don't know," Terri shrugged. "But be ready no matter what, OK?"

"Naturally," agreed Andromeda.

Terri nodded, then turned back to Madoka. "Just tell us which way to the caverns, please," she said.

Missingno. Master- Confident you can handle the situation in the cave, you release your Starmie from its Pokeball. Thankfully the Water type already knew Flash, which checked off the issue of visibility in the cavern. Madoka smiles, she seems confident that the task is in capable hands, you had bested her in her trial after all.

"The entrance to the cavern is down behind the shrine, you can't miss it." Madoka waves you goodbye as you head towards the shrine, Andromeda floating closely behind. Searching behind the shrine you quickly locate the entrance to the Cosmic Cavern. You hear a strange noise coming from within, some sort of buzzing. The thing was though, it didn't really sound like any Bug type Pokemon you have ever heard before, it had this strange quality to it that was hard to pin down. Andromeda's gem lights up as you enter the tunnel, quickly pushing back the darkness and illuminating the path in front of you.

You follow the main tunnel for a few minutes, before a terrifying roar stops you in your tracks. The cavern seems to shake as something approaches, it seems that another Pokemon was being forced from the caverns, this one likely much larger and angrier than the distressed Rock types outside. It was probably a good idea for you to prepare yourself for conflict. As the frustrated Pokemon closes in, you do your best to peer into the dark, any sign of what you would be facing would likely help you prepare. Some of the light from Andromeda's gem reflects off a polished surface, perhaps something metallic?

With a smile and a nod, Terri acknowledged the directions from Madoka and thanked her for them. And with that, they were off. The entrance to the Cosmic Cavern, true to Madoka's word, was easy to locate.

Terri tilted her head as they approached. "Do you hear that, Andromeda?" she asked.

"Indeed," the Starmie responded- in her native language, as opposed to telepathy, since Terri seemed to have no trouble understanding either. "The question is, what is it? I'm not familiar with this at all..."

"It's very strange," agreed Terri, sounding vaguely intrigued. "I would suppose a Bug-type would be a reasonable guess, but I've never heard a Bug-type like that before. Well... we may just find out," she stated. "Andromeda, use Flash."

And that's just what Andromeda did. With the Starmie leading the way, Terri entered the cave. The two followed the main tunnel for several minutes, when a thunderous roar echoed throughout. Both of them stopped at this, Andromeda's gem flickering in alarm for a second. Terri did not cry out, did not indicate shock or fear, but did stop along with Andromeda, staring into the darkness ahead, head tilted as though she was more curious than anything. Not that Andromeda was fool enough to mistake this for Terri underestimating the gravity of the situation- Terri was harder to read than the walls of the Abyssal Ruins in Unova, but the Starmie had seen for herself many times before- when Terri or anyone she cared about was in imminent danger, the mysterious young Trainer would never fail to take action. Every bit as capable in that regard as Andromeda's former Trainer, Keith Masters.

"Something is coming," Andromeda said urgently. "Something just as distressed as the Rock-tyeps from earlier, but likely much more dangerous."

Terri nodded. "Then we should be ready for it," she decided. "Impede its rampage with Reflect and Thunder Wave, and then... is that metal?" she murmured, seeing that Andromeda's light seemed to be reflecting off of whatever was approaching. "In that case, follow up with Firestream," stated Terri.

However, in spite of her trash talking, Marcus was hardly fazed and remained focused on the battle at hand. As he overheard Mint’s strategy, he smiled and called out to his Sneasel, “You know what to do, Sneas. Don’t let it hit you!”

Celeste coughed again, trying to clear her throat as her wings flapped before Sneasel. The weasel glared back at the parrot and displayed its claws. As Celeste began to flap her wings harder, the friction began to heat up the air as she summoned a Heat Wave. However, as her wings kicked up a gust and pushed the air current forward, Celeste was shocked to find that the Sneasel had suddenly disappeared. Before she could realize that it had slipped past her defenses, it was already too late as Sneasel rammed into the Chatot from behind with a sneaky Feint Attack.

Marcus smirked and called out, “Now so tough now, are you? Let’s counter their hot air with some cold!” The Sneasel quickly nodded and began blowing a harsh Icy Wind that chilled Celeste to the bone. It was a direct hit, and the bird winced as she spun around. She was trying to keep up with the Sneasel to target her next attack, but it was just too fast for her at this point. When it looked as if Celeste wasn’t going to be able to keep up any further, a surge of energy suddenly flowed into her body. A whistle-like tweeting could be heard as it was none other than the small yellow bird on the sidelines dancing away and shaking its pompoms as it offered Celeste a Helping Hand. Now filled with a newfound confidence, Celeste began flapping her wings once again. This time, she summoned a Heat Wave so powerful that no amount of running around could dodge its effect.

Sneasel was clearly bothered as the temperature continued to rise. “Hey, that’s cheating!” Marcus called out through gritted teeth. “If that’s how they’re going to play it, then two can play at that game!” Marcus tossed two Pokeballs, releasing Ratty the Raticate and Kimmy’s old Sentret. Sneasel looked at its companions and beckoned them over as it smacked Celeste. Ratty joined in next, helping Beat the Chatot Up, followed by the reluctant Sentret. With tears in its eyes, Sentret was too timid to disobey its new trainer and lunged forward to hit Celeste as well. Celeste had taken quite a few hits this turn, but Sneasel wasn’t doing so hot either. What will Mint do?
Mint grimaced as Marcus and his Sneasel made short work of her thought to use Heat Wave by dodging with a Feint Attack and leaving Celeste hopelessly unable to keep up using an Icy Wind. Angry but powerless, Mint could only watch...before a tweet sang through the air, revitalizing Celeste and putting her back in the fight! The Oricorio from before stood enthusiastic as ever on the sidelines, cheering on Celeste with as much vim and vigor as it had Kimmy’s Sentret before it, adorably bouncing and bobbing like a little cheerleader might. Mint could only tremble in disgust as this of all things made Marcus quite upset. Not one to listen to his drivel this time, she cut him off as he executed his Beat Up attack.

“Have you been skipping Trainer’s School? Or do they not teach you kids to pay attention to their surroundings in battle anymore? I’d loathe to battle you someplace more hazardous, that’s for sure!” she said dryly and severely, fists clenched and starting to tremble with genuine anger. “You have to adapt your strategy based on what’s around you! If you don’t, you could risk all of the match, your own safety, your opponent’s, and that of your Pokémon and theirs. If you learn nothing else from this battle, at least keep that in mind!” she added, with a glare that could wither a Venusaur. “Now, back to the task at hand.” she growled, still upset but with a much more focused and tranquil fury. “Celeste, keep up the Heat Waves, not much else we can do until your voice recovers.”

Celeste readied herself once again, making sure the Sneasel was in full view this time. She would have angrily squawked at this boy with her Trainer, were she able to use her voice, but that moment had passed. As for the battle at hand, it was now or never-she had to pull this out!

Meetan – After assessing the situation, given the close proximity of both options that Granny gave you, you decide that you should be able to do both. It shouldn’t be a problem at all! Picking Oran Berries seems to be pretty straight forward, so you decide to put your Machop Nani to work. After you finish explaining what she needs to do, Nani confidently walks over to the bushes and grabs one of the empty buckets near Ringo and you watch for a few seconds to confirm that she is having no problems which certainly seems to be the case as she plucks berries one by one.

With that task being taken care of, you can now focus on helping Isaac, who certainly appears to need more help than Ringo at the moment. Isaac was standing there with his knees shaking, watching in horror as four Combee’s were beginning to dodge the farms Herdier and make their way towards him. Bently was already preparing his Weather Ball which was absorbing the power of the sun and transforming into a ball of fire that was hurled at the Combee’s. The ball went right for them and since the Combee’s weren’t paying any attention to you at all, it hit three out of four of them easily. (Bently gains 1 level) “Huh!?” Isaac looked toward you and your Pokemon. One Combee who took most of the hit was knocked out of the air and was regaining it’s bearings. The other two were slightly charred but their attention was now 100% on you and your Pokemon. Even the one who wasn’t hit was now charging forward.

Bently was prepared for this and began to release his Acid Spray on the group. “W-wait! D-don’t hurt them!” Isaac was finally mobile again and nearly leaped in front of the Combee to protect them but some of the acid hit his boots which were now sizzling as they began to melt causing him to fumble to the ground and rip off his boots before the acid reached his feet. All four of the Combee that had been charging in were hit by the acid and cried out in anger, in that moment all of them together began to whip up a large Gust. It was at that exact moment that Dutchess used her Mimic to copy Bently’s Acid Spray and was throwing more acid in of her own. However, the Gust was created by 4 Pokemon and was very strong so the acid was sent right back to where it came from, drenching both Dutchess and Bently while also causing both of them to lose their footing and tumble backwards quite a distance, you somehow manage to keep your balance but not without some difficulty. “T-the Combee are not so bad!! You don’t have to fight!!” Isaac was nervously shouting with worry knowing that his mistake has caused a fight to break out. Then, after regaining her footing, Dutchess let out a loud cry using her Hyper Voice, knocking the Combee who had dealt with the worst of the Weather Ball out of the air it seems to be unconscious but there are still three left charging forward. (Dutchess gains 2 levels)

“Cherrrrrrr!!!???!” Suddenly you hear a strange cry from behind you causing you to glance back. That’s when you notice Nani proudly staring at the bucket she was filling which now as a Cherubi crammed into it, its body filling the buckets opening so completely that you wouldn’t be surprised if it was now stuck in the bucket, it also seems to be flailing about and Ringo appeared to be oblivious. Suddenly a Sweet Scent fills your nose and there is no doubt that it’s coming from those Combee. You also notice Granny calmly watching everything that’s happening from a safe distance with what seems to be an amused look on her face.

Missingno. Master- You do your best to prepare for the mysterious raging Pokemon, quickly ordering Andromeda to set up a Reflect. With a spin and a flash of its gem, the Starmie constructs a thick reflective pane that would hopefully shield the two of you from the rampaging beast. The shaking gets stronger as the Pokemon finally comes into view, a rather enraged Aggron bashes at the side of the tunnel as it looks to escape from the annoying sound that likely stirred it from its rest. The massive Pokemon crashes into Andromeda's reflective pane, it seems barring its way might have been a mistake.

The Aggron swings a punch at the pane, smashing it to pieces with a force strong enough to Break through a Brick wall. It then heads for Andromeda, but the Starmie is prepared and quickly lets loose a wave of electricity that wraps around the Aggron. The powerful Steel type lets out a roar of frustration as it finds itself locked up with paralysis. Looking to push her advantage, Starmie strikes with a move one wouldn't expect from a Water type. The psychic starfish lets loose a stream of fire that washes over the Aggron, dealing a nice bit of damage but failing to leave a burn. The Aggron finally manages to push through its paralysis however and swings its tail around with tremendous force. The brutal hit sends Andromeda crashing into the side of the tunnel, which gets slightly darker as her gem dims. If Andromeda was overpowered by the Aggron you would lose your light source, leaving you in darkness. You now had a real battle on your hands with the Aggron intent on punishing you for getting in its way.

Terri had given her orders, and not a moment too soon- the source of the roar made itself apparent, as a large metallic beast of a Pokémon appeared before them. As Andromeda began to attack, Terri produced her Pokédex and consulted it for information.

"Aggron, the Iron Armor Pokémon. A Steel and Rock-type, and the evolved form of Lairon. Aggron claims an entire mountain as its territory and is highly protective of its environment. Those that violate its territory are mercilessly thrashed."

Terri said nothing as she surveyed the situation, Andromeda carrying out her attacks as commanded. Aggron became paralyzed by the Thunder Wave, impeded by Reflect, and damaged, albeit not burned, by the Firestream. Meanwhile, it managed to shatter the Reflect with a powerful Brick Break, and follow up with an intense and powerful Brutal Swing, super effective against the Starmie.

"Ow... The Aggron is exceptionally powerful," Andromeda said weakly to Terri.

Terri nodded. "We made a mistake," she said quietly. "Aggron only wanted to escape from whatever was bothering it, and we got in its way... we have to help it," she decided.

"How?" the Starmie questioned. "It's unlikely to listen to reason- between the disturbance in the cave, and our interference, it is infuriated. And Aggron are not known for being especially reasonable to begin with."

Terri shook her head. "We have to try," she said. "Andromeda, use Recover and be sure to keep your light going. Leave this to us." As she spoke, she drew a Lure Ball off her belt and tossed it forward. "George, engage!" she exclaimed.

In a flash of light, Terri's Inkay appeared before them. "Battle! Battle?" the Dark/Psychic-type inquired upon spotting the Aggron.

Terri shook her head. "No, George- we have to calm Aggron down and let it get out of here," she stated. As she spoke, she dug a Lum Berry out of her bag and tossed it to George, who caught it in his thin white tentacles. "Use Switcheroo to give that berry to Aggron, let it eat it to cure its paralysis. After that, use Hypnosis- don't try to put it to sleep, just try and calm it down so that it'll listen when I apologize, and so that when we step aside to let it pass, it just passes us without trying to attack any further." She hesitated here- was this battle truly unavoidable, or did she catch her mistake in time to make it right? Terri hoped it was the latter, but if it was the former... "And if that doesn't work- and only if battling Aggron is truly unavoidable- then you'll have to use Superpower," stated Terri.

Andromeda listened to her Trainer, mildly impressed. In the face of a rampaging Aggron, most Trainers would either fight it head-on or haul ass in the other direction. Not Terri, though- she sought to help the Aggron. Of course, this was not necessarily the smartest course of action- there was no guarantee this would work, and indeed, judging by Terri telling George to use Superpower if necessary, she knew this good and well, too. But she, Andromeda, was not content to leave George to take on Aggron all by himself. She therefore decided that if it did come down to a battle, and if George found himself in trouble, she would try and assist with Hydro Pump.

Terri, meanwhile, stood in place, saying nothing further. Not yet. Words would be useless if Aggron was too enraged to hear them. Her apology would need to wait until George calmed Aggron down. If he was able to calm it down.

To your dismay, you had to play along with Primrose’s game and humor this fantasy her Musharna had created. You thought back to the fairytale this was no doubt based upon and came upon the conclusion that there had to be some kind of unconventional solution. While you were donning a suit of shining armor, you doubted that you were this Komala’s true love.

Your armor clanked loudly as you called out your Golett. The Automaton Pokemon appeared in a flash of light, donning a feathered cap fitting for whatever period this fairytale was supposed to be set in. You instructed him to provide Komala with the kiss to wake it up, unsure of how it would go. Pahallah, after calculating the best way to show affection without having a mouth, clunked over to Komala’s bedside. Komala seemed to notice the Golett approach, and as Pahallah leaned over she suddenly rolled away to the other side of the bed. Pahallah tried to follow, but Komala tumbled the other way. Soon, the Golett was chasing the Komala around her canopy bed, non-existent lips pursed for a kiss. You realized that Komala was actually performing a Rollout, steadily gaining speed and power with each time she completed a rotation. How was Pahallah to get his kiss?
Things were going splendidly… for someone on the other edge of the world, probably. Because Hush was starting to get a migraine, and his mood was becoming progressively worse – to the point where he might well flunk the trial for putting a bullet in Komala’s head.

“Oh for fuck’s sake.”

Sleeping Beauty was performing a Rollout, and Hush couldn’t help but think that would’ve made the original tale a lot more interesting, despite turning the current scenario into a damn nightmare. Primrose, the little shit, was asking for a bullet of her own, and Musharna could eat the third for all he cared. He just wanted to get this over with, get out of this ridiculous suit of armour and engage in some good old fashioned violence. He needed it.

“You’re a terrible kisser Pahaliah,” he declared, attempting to draw some amusement from the infuriating situation. He approached the befuddled automaton, dropped to one knee and tapped it on the shoulder. “She’s a tease. Bet she loves a dominant genderless male though. So go ahead and dominate”.

Pahaliah was both a machine and a spirit. And as such, it was actually quite talented at reading minds, especially Hush’s. The man didn’t need to spell it out to him – he was giving it permission to release restraints, in his own peculiar way. The Golett could tell Hush was losing his patience if he allowed it to upgrade now of all times, but Pahaliah wasn’t about to argue – it had been eager to test the limits of its power for quite some time now. All it had to do was remove the internal lock and…

“There ya go.”

Light invaded the room, a gorgeous blue glow that preceded a massive increase in the machine’s size – so much so that it wound up towering over the canopy itself. When the shine wore off, Pahaliah stood a titan, a monstrous that only failed to look absolutely terrifying due to the silly hat bestowed upon it by Primrose’s twisted sense of humour.

I’m going to murder her.

The giant’s eyes remained fixed on the spinning Komala, running calculations. It shouldn’t prove too troublesome now, but he was obligated by internal protocols to await Hush’s input. Fortunately, it fell in line with its own reasoning.

“You should be strong enough to grab her and force her to stop with your bare hands, but if you don’t want to be that rough of a lover, a Psychic grip should be enough. When you have a firm hold, maybe try that loving kiss again.”

KingGhidorah: Your anger faded, giving you the clarity to look over the battlefield and reassess the situation. Clarence’s two heads squawked pitifully as Kingler poked lightly at him. You joined Kingler in trying to comfort the fainted Bird Pokemon. Throh encouraged you to do what was right and apologize, even if this kid was the one who started it all. The young trainer didn’t look at you as you knelt down beside him and explained your behavior. You held out a bandana for him to blow his nose, and he grabbed it quickly out of your hand.

“I…I didn’t mean to be so mean to Clarence…” He sniffed, wiping copious amounts of snot into your bandana before handing it back. He pulled out Clarence’s Pokeball and returned him with a sigh. “He’s not even mine… Don’t tell anyone but, I stole my big sister’s Pokemon!” He looked at you with intense seriousness.
“And I stole her binoculars too…” He turned over the broken binoculars in his hands, tears started welling up in his eyes again. He took a deep breath, then looked at you and your Pokemon, pointing to each of you individually as he told you his plan. “Since you broke them, you have to help me. My sister is gonna be real mad but I think if I catch her a rare bird Pokemon she’ll forgive me. I’ve never caught a Pokemon before, but you’re actually a trainer so you’ll do it for me!”

Kingler and Throh look to you for a response. Sure, this kid was pretty annoying, but maybe you could get him out of your hair quickly if you caught him the Pokemon he was after?

-----------
Raves: The group of teens began to calm down, wrapping up the injured girls arm and administering medicine to her fainted Pignite. You could still feel them eyeing you, but there were more important things to focus on. You and your Pokemon’s attention was now fully on the newcomer. The little thief scrambled around you and Totsuka followed, utilizing her control over shadows to lock the Buneary in place. The Buneary began to shake, rapidly twitching its ears as it attempted to come up with what to do next. As Totsuka approached, it thrust one of its fists forward to Pound the Shadow Zangoose, only to find that its ability to do so was Disabled. Totsuka towered over the tiny Normal-type, ready to teach it a lesson. Buneary looked up with Baby-Doll Eyes, hoping to reduce the power of any further attacks.

The world went dark for the Buneary as Golestandt slowly reached down and picked it up. The Buneary struggled and squeaked trying a variety of Quick Attacks and Frustrated kicks to free itself from the Golurk’s grip. The ghost type was unfazed, only watching as the Buneary Splashed with no effect. Suddenly, the Normal type stopped moving, looking straight into your Golurk’s glowing eyes. The Buneary had the Foresight to find away around Golestandt’s Ghost typing, and successfully landed a hit in Frustration. Golestandt opened its hand in shock and pain, setting the Buneary free, but also sending it in a rapid descent from the Golurk’s height.

Maskerade: Your patience was growing thin. The combination of a rolling Komala, a floundering Golett, and the creaking of your armor every time you moved was just about driving you crazy. This had to end, and the only way was to gain as much control you could over this dream sequence. Pahallah looked ready, and you gave the go ahead to evolve. The light and energy from the evolution was enough to draw the Komala’s attention, even though her eyes were firmly shut. She rolled as far away as she could in the tiny bedroom, but Pahallah’s new form took up almost all the available space. The Golurks’ head scraped the ceiling, rocks and dust raining down on you and clanking against your helmet.

Pahallah held out one of its giant hands, a Psychic glow surrounding it. The same glow surrounded the rolling Komala, stopping her in her tracks. Pahallah lifted the Komala up to its face, then leaned forward for a true love’s kiss. The dream world seemed to slow down as the Komala was slowly forced to smooch your Golurk. Komala’s lips touched Pahallah’s, and everything erupted into sparkles. You heard a soft giggle and the Komala’s room faded away.

Your vision cleared, and you found yourself sitting in the shade of a tree in a pleasant countryside. This time, you were dressed slacks, a dress shirt, and vest, reminiscent of a young boy in the Victorian era. A quick movement caught your eye, and you turned to see a pure white Bunnelby looking right at you. Its nose and ears twitched, and it seemed to smile at you before disappearing to a foxhole right beneath the tree. You felt the overwhelming urge to follow it.

Hugo took the snot-filled bandana between his index finger and thumb, holding it as far away from his body as possible. He could literally feel the huge wad load of mucous weighing it down. He reached it back to the kid.

“You know what, why don’t you just go ahead and keep this.” He turned to Kingler and held out his hands. “A little help here?”

The giant crab blew a light jet of water onto Hugo’s hands, rinsing them clean. Without the bandana to dry them, Hugo wiped his hands dry on his own shorts.

“Right, so,” Hugo said turning back to the kid, “you snagged the binoculars and the Pokemon from your sister.”

His internal monologue was going wild. Sister, eh? How old was this sister? Was she Hugo’s age? And into merciful trainers who DON’T murder little brothers? Yes, perhaps she would see him and be swept away by his courage and compassion. Or you could be getting a head of yourself and she too could be a child or just a real pain in the ass. Seems like it might be something that runs in the family. And then the part about the rare bird Pokemon stuck in his head. Hugo could help catch this kid a Pokemon. Or he could catch it and keep it for himself. He could decide later.

“So you’re after a rare bird Pokemon, eh? That will save you from your sister? I’m a little brother myself, I know your pain. Let’s walk and talk.”

Hugo helped the kid to his feet and began his trek through the forest, Kingler and Throh in tow.

((As a disclaimer, I'm really enjoying the adventure so far! Don't let the way I roleplay this character tell you any different!))

Hush hadn't felt as happy since the day he'd unleashed Dominion.exe on the world and ended that war. Only this time that happiness didn't stem from some grand sense of accomplishment, but rather sheer relief. When the literal weight of the ridiculous suit of armour was lifted from his shoulders, Hush knew Pahaliah had done it, somehow, and the goddamn ordeal of kissing a koala princess was finally over.

As a reward, he got a white Bunnelby.

Oh you little shit...

It seemed the Trial wasn't, in fact, over. Primrose was still going to throw some more folk tales his way that would make him look like a fool - quite literally in this instance as he was dressed as the village idiot. This wasn't a Trial, it was torture, and if war had taught Hush anything, it was that torture was only fun on other people.

Pahaliah stood next to him, as tall as the tree itself. The giant scanned the surrounding countryside with visible curiosity, possibly trying to compute how the entire landscape changed so drastically, so quickly. But Hush knew this particular fairytale as well, and in this case, he would not be able to rely on the gargantuan machine just yet. He recalled the Golurk back into his Ball, then stared absent-mindedly at the rabbit hole through which Bunnelby had escaped. He knew what Primrose wanted him to do next, but he really didn't want to give the child that satisfaction.

Not that I have a choice, he admitted to himself bitterly. He got up and walked towards the hole, wondering who of his partners, if any, would be able to keep up with what he assumed was about to happen. He dropped to one knee and examined the entrance.

There better be a shitload of magic mushrooms down there.

This should have been simple, like most things. This was supposed to be a nice and simple place, for a simple adventure, but Alice wasn't allowed nice things like that. She reeled back as the acid was deflected, glad that at least none had gotten on her. Bentley looked ticked off, glowering at his shiny partner's failure. Dutchess didn't seem too discouraged, though. She had shaken the acid from her sparkling black fur and downed a Combee with ease, so what was the problem?

"Keep out of the way or you're going to get hurt! We can heal them up after their tantrum if it's such a problem!" Alice snapped at Isaac, just as the Cherubi began crying out. The idol let a quiet curse let slip. "Come on, Nani... Seriously?!" The Machop blinked, the pride on her face falling. She glanced down at the Cherubi. Did it not count? "Get the poor thing out of there, and be careful about it! You might need to loosen the rim of the bucket with berry juice to get the Cherubi loose. Only actual berries, no more Pokemon in that bucket!"

Dutchess barked, regaining Alice's attention. She sighed. "Bentley, use your Weather Balls again! Dutchess, Mimic them! And try not to hit the boy." Alice added. It was bad enough his boots were ruined, she didn't need a person set on fire. They did just get here. In time, both Pokemon began charging spheres of increasing red-orange heat while in the background Nani began reaching for more berries to lather her hands and lubricate the bucket with. Hopefully no living ones this time...

With the pack of Lycanroc now on the ropes, Jayson and his Pokemon looked to finish them off for good. Numbers were now on their side, and Jayson called out his strategy to make the most of that advantage. With their orders issued, his Pokemon nodded and readied themselves to fight once more.

The young Fenrir was first to strike, leaping forward and firing off the Power of the Earth in the larger Lycanroc’s direction. The evolved form Howled angrily and summoned a Tomb of Rocks that trapped Fenrir inside. Alexander had his new teammate’s back though and Smartly Struck the boulders to cause them to crumble away and free the pup inside. The Nidoking followed up the attack with a Water Pulse on the Lycanroc, knocking it out cold.

Now that he was free to move once again, Fenrir lunged at the other Lycanroc, who was ready. It quickly slammed into Fenrir with an Accelerock before the Rockruff could strike back with his own Iron Tail for good damage. The Lycanroc opened its mouth to unleash a world of hurt on its smaller counterpart, but Ajax promptly clocked it acrossthe side of the face with a Needle Arm, rendering it unconscious. The battle was finally over, allowing Jayson a moment to sigh and catch his breath.

Fenrir has grown 3 levels!
Alexander has grown 3 levels!
Ajax has grown 3 levels!

While it was a nice moment for everyone to rest and catch their breaths, there was also no time to lose. Quite a while had been spent battling these four Lycanroc, and as if on cue, another bellowing howl echoed across the mountainside that signaled more danger was still to come. At the sound of the howl, Fenrir took off, although not straying too far ahead from his new teammates. Deciding it was best to follow, Jayson and Pokemon hurried after as they traversed the narrow game trail through the woods.

As they exited out the other side of the cluster of trees, a towering cliff face stood before them like a skyscraper. The light from the blood-red moon bathed the mountain in an eerie glow. As Jayson caught sight of Fenrir, he could see that the Rockruff was waiting at the base of precarious-looking hiking trail that snaked its way up the cliff side. A series of growls and barking could be heard coming from atop the cliff, so something was clearly going down. Fenrir had an impatient and worried look on his face, as if he could barely restrain himself from waiting any longer to charge up there. Time was of the essence, and having bulky Pokemon like Alexander and Ajax might slow them down. If Jayson wanted to prepare for whatever was up ahead and heal his Pokemon, now would be a good time.

Mint was having none of this kid’s crap and proceeded to lecture him on basic Pokemon battle knowledge. Marcus grit his teeth, not a fan of being talked down to and impatiently pressed on with his Sneasel’s attack. “I’ll show you strategy… It’s called having the stronger Pokemon!” Sneasel flashed its claws at Celeste, indifferent to the politics behind the trainers’ moral codes. It simply wanted to fight, and that was what it intended to do.

“Sneasel, use your Quick Attack to dodge and then give it a taste of your Ice Punch!” Marcus called out while Mint issued her own orders to Celeste. The Chatot nodded, her throat still too sore to utter a verbal confirmation. Celeste began flapping her wings as she summoned a Heat Wave in the ice type’s direction, but once again, the target had seemingly disappeared. Sneasel darted into Celeste’s blind spot and struck her with a light Quick Attack. As Sneasel prepared to strike again, the small yellow cheerleading bird on the sidelines began blowing a gentle Tailwind that added a little lift under Celeste’s wings.

Sneasel lunged forward with an icy fist, but Celeste was able to react and flap backwards causing the Ice Punch to barely glance off of her. Celeste continued flapping, blowing another scorching Heat Wave that connected directly with its target this time. The ice type was visibly bothered by the heat, Sneasel looking none too well after the attack subsided. Marcus was now livid at this point. “Stop cheating you stupid bird!” he yelled, pointing at Oricorio. “Sentret, go Scratch it and don’t stop until it’s knocked out!” Sentret looked very hesitant to perform such a ruthless act, but the bully’s Raticate hovered over it menacingly. Sentret winced and begrudgingly started running towards the Oricorio, not wanting to face the consequences for disobeying. What will Mint do?

Mint grimaced as Sneasel dodged the first Heat Wave yet again, but loosened up as Oricorio’s Tailwind let Celeste escape the worst of the opponent’s Ice Punch. What came next, however, sparked a decision. To send a Pokémon so recently knocked out to battle against a fresh opponent certainly equipped to defend itself in spades was a horrid mixture of ineptitude and cruelty that made Mint wish she could tear up the kid’s Trainer Card on the spot. The injuries Sentret had already sustained could get even worse, or, if that Oricorio were strong enough, result in...Mint didn’t want to think about that. Indeed, she barely thought before taking action to respond, drawing a second Poke Ball, tossing it to the side to release the Hitmontop inside.

“Pastinha! Don’t let that Sentret battle! Use your Detect to stay in between it and Oricorio if you need to, but do not fight it at all!” Mint called urgently. Pastinha nodded wordlessly, planting itself between the two Pokémon as Mint turned back to face Marcus.

“Sending a beaten Pokémon to fight hardly seems like a good strategy, even by your definition, Marcus.” Mint said sternly. “Celeste, keep up the Heat Waves some more, unless you can manage a Hyper Voice.” she ordered Celeste. “Round after round, you show me more reason you shouldn’t be trusted with Pokémon. I didn’t want to get any of my other Pokémon involved, but now you’ve gone and forced my hand, just to keep you from getting Kimmy’s Pokémon gravely injured or worse.” Mint added, her expression turning dark. “You use your Pokémon as little more than tools to get your own way, to get a win at any cost. Moreover, you don’t know what those “costs” could amount to. What if one of your best friends didn’t come home today? Or ever? And what if you found that they had died in an accident from some other Trainer’s foolishness in battle, leaving them in a grave of obsidian, never to have a proper burial? What would you do?” Mint growled, her fury starting to bubble once more. Celeste, notably, seemed to flinch at the mention of this, as if they knew this story just as well as its narrator. “What I’m doing, here and now...well, why do you think I asked?” she finished.

Working as a team, they eventually overcame the ambushing Lycanroc but it was clear that the fight was not over. Howls rang out from the peak of the cliff, it seemed they were nearly at their destination. Searching around for a little while, they managed to locate a rather precarious hiking trail that would lead them to where they wanted to go. With the bulkier Chesnaught and Nidoking, it would likely be a slow hike to the top, but time seemed to be of the essence. Jayson recalled both Ajax and Alexander, if he needed to he would bring them out at the top. Still concerned they could get ambushed again, Jayson released another Pokemon to help escort them to the top. The Honedge swung its unsheathed blade through the air, it seemed eager to fight. Before Fenrir could race off, Jayson called to the feisty Rockruff as he offered it some treats from his bag. Holding out the Sitrus Berry and two Rare Candies, Jayson feeds them to the Rockruff, hoping the treats would give him the energy he needed for the upcoming fight.

Fenrir reached level 23! He learnt Rock Tomb!

They were now ready to head up the hiking trail. Fenrir took the lead, Honedge was hot in pursuit and neither seemed to want to wait for him. Jayson did his best to keep up, doing his best to keep his mind on the track in front of him and not on what awaited them at the top.

Missingno. Master- Having reassessed the situation with the new information at her disposal, Terri quickly devised a plan. Andromeda was to important to lose, it was best for the Starmie to focus on recovering and maintaining the light. Fighting the Aggron was a the wrong direction to go, the poor Pokemon was simply trying to escape and you had impeded it. You summon your Inkay forth to face the gigantic enraged Pokemon, George was full of tricks and had the skills necessary for your plan to work. You would pacify the Aggron instead, hoping it would let you pass as it looked to escape the disturbance in the caverns.

Retrieving a Lum Berry from you bag, you toss the curative green berry to George. The Inkay works quickly, darting forward with a swift movement as he plops the berry into the mouth of the roaring Aggron. The Steel type is startled, but promptly consumes the berry, its body glowing as it is freed from the paralysis that Andromeda had inflicted it with. The Aggron looks at you with confusion, why had you just helped it after you harmed it? Raising an arm, the still distressed Aggron prepares to swat George down. The Inkay reacts quickly, flashing its lights in a hypnotic sequence. As the Aggron's eyes become transfixed on the lights, its arm comes to a stop, mere inches from George. Lowering its arm, the Aggron seems to be pacified. Your plan seemed to work quite well, perhaps proving that violence wasn't always the answer? With the Aggron in a calmer, hypnotised state, the Aggron would likely listen to reason now.

For most Pokémon Trainers, actively attempting to heal an enraged wild Aggron that was trying to attack them wouldn't even cross their minds. But Terri Alph wasn't most Pokémon Trainers. In a situation where battling was the only option, then sure, one wouldn't heal the enemy, but this wasn't such a situation, Terri was convinced of it.

Aggron looked confused by this turn of events. It ate the Lum Berry, but seemed baffled that its attacker would try to heal it. Mistrustful of the situation, it made ready to attack George, but the Inkay responded with Hypnosis, in an attempt to calm Aggron down. And to Terri's relief, the Inkay succeeded.

"Thank you, George," Terri thanked her Inkay. "I can take it from here." She then turned to look at the Steel/Rock-type. "Aggron, I'm sorry," Terri said. "I saw and heard something huge and angry coming right at me and believed I needed to fight, but I was wrong. You're not what was causing this trouble in here- you're just as distressed by it as the other Pokémon. I don't want to fight you," she said. "I'll stand aside, and there shouldn't be anything else blocking your way out, OK? And I promise," she added. "I'll stop whatever this is, and make your territory peaceful again." With her apology and subsequent promises said, Terri stepped off to the side, gesturing for Aggron to pass by unimpeded. George followed suit. Andromeda was off to the side already, still up against the cave wall, so no movement was necessary on her part. All they could do now was wait and see how Aggron responded to all this. Terri was confident that she got through to Aggron, but only time would tell. And if, Arceus forbid, things went south, George recalled his previous order to use Superpower if need be. He hoped he wouldn't need to carry it out.

King Ghidorah: The kid stuffed the gift of your handkerchief into one of his pockets, some snot still dripping off of it. His demeanor completely changed when you agreed to come along with him. Any animosity toward you and your Pokemon had completely disappeared, and this young trainer was now all smiles.

“Yeah, my sister keeps Bird Pokemon but she like, never lets me play with them!” He said as he began to lead the way through the forest. “I don’t want to wait one more year to be a trainer, I’ve seen preschoolers out battling with their Pokemon!” He didn’t look at you while he talked, instead his neck was craned to look at the canopy above. “OH Yeah I’m Jonah by the way, and when I get my first Pokemon I’m gonna be the youngest trainer to complete all the trials in the Cloud Garden, so you better remember my name!”

At that, he turns to your Kingler and Throh and starts looking them up and down. Jonah measures himself against Throh, who is just a bit taller than him. He frowns, then tries to measure the length of Kingler’s pincers, staying a comfortable distance away to avoid getting attacked again.

“Can these guys climb trees? Cause we’re looking for uh…” Jonah shuffles around in his bag and pulls out a wrinkled photograph. He shows it to you, and it is a blurry picture of a large nest. You can make out a few fluffy Pokemon sleeping in the nest, which is overseen by the shadow of a bigger Pokemon perched on the nest’s edge. The larger Pokemon is covered in colorful plumage, and its large talons and beak look rather menacing. “These guys live in really tall trees! Clarence can’t fly so you’re gonna have to get us up there.”

----------------

((Glad to hear it! Hush is a fun character c: ))
Maskerade: You approach the hole at the base of the tree just as the Bunnelby’s snow white tail disappears into the dark. If you squint, you can make out the slightest bit of light far, far down the hole. Suddenly, you feel the ground at your feet shift and begin to crumble. As you lose your footing, you tumble forward and into the hole, beginning a terrifying freefall into darkness. The light you saw gets closer, and you are able to see that it is coming from a bright yellow room at the bottom of this hole. The ground is rushing up to you incredibly quickly, and you scramble to find some way to rescue yourself. Just before you hit the ground, you find yourself surrounded with the pink mist that had coaxed you into the dream in the first place. Primrose’s Musharna must be looking out for you.

The mist clears and you can take in your surroundings. You are standing in the center of the yellow room, furnished only with a table and surrounded by several doors. Some doors are open, but you can’t tell where they lead due to a wall of pink mist obscuring whatever lay beyond them. The white Bunnelby is perched on the table, ears twitching and foot tapping impatiently. It leaps off the table, over your head, and through the open door behind you. The door slams shut as the Pokemon passes through it. You try to go after it, but the room begins to spin wildly. You steady yourself on the table and find that every door is now closed, and as they are all identical, you have no idea which one the Bunnelby escaped through. On the table where the Bunnelby sat is a box containing six keys of different colors. How will you locate the correct door?

The teens no longer of concern, Alex's group was instead focused on the Buneary intruder, aiming to make a swift getaway having been rumbled, yet as the shadows danced around the Zangoose focused on the Buneary's one in particular, using her unnatural shadow energy to place a pin of sorts on the rabbit's to prevent escape before approaching as Alex's attempts to find soothing went poorly. With the encroaching ferret, the Buneary's ears twitched in panic before taking a swing at the feline, only to find the physical strike to fall flat, as though some force had disabled it. Indeed, with the thief seemingly disarmed and apprehended, Totsuka was ready to deliver a lesson, only to stare down at the bunny's watery eyes.

Perhaps it was something changing, but while she ordinarily would have shrugged at the look the rabbit was giving her and went ahead with the battery and bollocking, instead Totsuka hesitated, seemingly pitying the pokemon. In the same circumstances she would have done the same and rushed into the fray, grab what she could and scarper. The Zangoose closed her eyes in thought as Cal watched on, the dragon raising his eyebrow (or closest thing to one) as the giant Golurk reached forth and scooped the Buneary up, holding them still. With no luck in finding an ice pack, the human instead looked around and spotted the small brown creature flailing around in the grips of Golestandt, who merely examined the captive with curiosity. It was certainly a resourceful and brave pokemon to utilise bushes for stealth, that was for sure, and that odd look it's giving them...

What followed came as a surprise to the automaton. Taking a brief moment, the Buneary took careful aim, and swung with ears into its wrist, having utilised some foresight to find a sensitive point in the clay body and leaving a small crack. Instinctively the colossus let go, inadvertently releasing the Buneary...who was now at least a good ten or so feet above terra firma and hurtling down. At that height, it was bound to take serious damage, perhaps a lasting injury. Alex realised this too, as he immediately made a dive for the falling pokemon, ready to grab it or cushion its fall as Cal barked in surprise. With little else to do, the Garchomp peered round at the group of teens as they saw to their friend and Pignite, oblivious to the shadow pokemon.

Totsuka seemed conflicted, but on hearing the squeaks of the Buneary and sudden crack, the Cat Ferret made a typically rash decision. Diving into Alex's bag, her claws closed around the first ball-shaped object she could grab, before utilising her quick movements to try and dash forward and bean the bunny with said orb in an attack meant to surprise, not injure, but most importantly to try and trap it within the ball. This trip was giving her conflicting feelings...

Hugo and his Pokemon crowd around the photograph Jonah holds in his grubby hand. Kingler shrugs his pincers, knowing full well that if he tried to climb the tree he would, in all likelihood, snap it half.

“Well, I think that disqualifies Kingler,” Hugo said, recalling the crab Pokemon into his Pokeball. “And as for Throh, I mean, I’m sure he could climb the tree, but Fighting types like him don’t always fare well against Flying types so I don’t want to pressur—”

Throh cuts him off though, expressing the disagreement with his trainer with his stern facial expression. With his large hands, the Judo Pokemon mimes the breaking of the binoculars. Apparently, he still feels as if he needs to make up for his accident, volunteering himself to search for the bird that Jonah seeks.

“Are you sure about this?” Hugo asks. Throh nods solemnly.

“I guess I spoke too soon. Throh said he’s willing to climb the trees to help you out. He feels bad about the binoculars. But we’re not going to make him go it alone.”

Hugo grabs a second Pokeball from his waist and, with a flash of light, a tiny blackbird materializes in front of them. Murkrow. The Darkness Pokemon seems to defy her classification, fluttering onto Hugo’s shoulder and squawking happily in his ear. Clearly she is happy to be included in the fun.

“Do you want to help us? Do you want to help us search for these?” Hugo asks, showing Murkrow the photo. The small bird chatters away, seemingly in agreement. “Okay, but you know what we need to do right?”

The bird nods, flying from Hugo’s shoulder to the ground, looking up at him in anticipation.

“I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to do this,” Hugo says to Jonah as he rummages through his bag. Finally, he pulls a small, deep purple stone from his backpack. The light radiating in from the trees above seems to gravitate toward the stone, being absorbed into its obsidian-like composition.

“This, Jonah, is a Dusk Stone. And when I hold it up to Murkrow…like this…” The bird is absorbed in a flash of white energy. When it subsides, Murkrow is no longer there. Instead, a slightly larger bird with a much wider wingspan and a crest of white feathers along it’s neck and breast are in its place. Murkrow had evolved into Honchkrow!

The Big Boss Pokemon lets out a deep crow, echoing through the trees. Jonah and Throh watch on in amazement.

“Well,” Hugo says to Jonah. “We have the team. Where should we begin?”

There it stands, deep in the heart of Fizzy Bubbles. The majestic Mt. Zephyria reaches up into the heavens, peaking at a total of 12,000 feet. Lush forests and winding creeks line the veins of the mountain all the way up to a magnificent crown of clouds. In ancient times, it was referred to as “The Palace of the Gods” due to the belief that eternal wreath of clouds housed a deity at its summit. These tribes that settled on the foothills of Mt. Zephyria were rich in tradition and culture, as they lived with reverence to the nature that surrounded them in order to appease the gods above. Nowadays this region is known as the Cloud Garden; an ecosystem that is equally beautiful and unforgiving.

With the civilizations of antiquity long gone but not forgotten, a new age of modernity has settled. At the foot of the mountain, a small village marks the entrance to the Cloud Garden. Galea Town is positioned right on the great Fizzy Lake with a small harbor where adventurers and tourists may enter. The people in this village have a culture that is a fusion of both modern technology and ancient tradition. It is supplied by the Starline River which feeds into Fizzy Lake from the Starline Falls further up the mountain. The majority of the villagers live in Galea Town, but several ranger cabins and shrines are scattered up the mountainside.

Atop the summit of the Cloud Garden rests the great Cloud Colosseum; an ancient shrine that has been transformed into an arena for elite trainers who have earned the right of entry. Tournaments are held regularly, where the people of the village dedicate their battles to the gods of old. There are three tiers of areas in which travelers are permitted to visit in the Cloud Garden. In order to gain entry to the next tier up, one must clear a number of challenges that scatter the mountain.

[size=1]The Galea Foothills:
The Galea Foothills covers the greatest expanse of land in the Cloud Garden. Beginning with Galea Town, adventurers may follow along the Starline River up across the plains and into the mountain. Other areas include the Starline River, the Rose Garden, Galea Plains, Cloud Forest, and the Stone Shrine. The boundary of the foothills lies at the Starline Falls, a giant waterfall that cascades down from the incline above.

Oran Orchard: A berry farm located to the east of the Cloud Forest that is run by a small family. The farm is an orchard that is filled with berry trees of every variety. The family likes to enlist travelers to help with various tasks in exchange for berry or apricorn rewards. They also provide a service to convert apricorns into Pokeballs. (Please reply in orange)

Big takes a deep sigh of the crisp orchard air. After several fairly stressful adventures all over Fizztopia he had decided to come back closer to, at least what he considered, home in this region. Wanting to both have a more relaxing break from searching for pokemon and a cheap alternative to buying healing items he decided to come to the Cloud Garden's Oran Orchard. He had not been to this specific area before but had heard rumors that the family that owned the orchard would give out berries to trainers for doing tasks. Deciding that this would be a cheaper and much more entertaining way of getting some healing items, and ones that his pokemon would probably enjoy more than the artificial store bought sprays. Not to mention the potential for training along the way. And in the same vein, he is reminded of the other bit of business he needed to take care of. He takes a moment to rest and reach into his bag. He pulls out a pretty large stack of cds that any trainer would know as TMs. Taking mental note he calls out several of his pokemon. Tex the Grubbin, Wake the Marill, Mysteria the Sableye and his faithful starter Hotstuff the Charmeleon. He looks over the four pokemon. "Hey guys, we had a free moment and I was thinking about it so let's lighten my bag a bit and teach you guys some extra moves." He explains. He divvies out the majority to Wake, since he had a lot of ice TMs from the Snowdown event and most of the moves were ones Elsa either already knew or would learn naturally. He teaches the round blue pokemon Ice Beam, Blizzard, Icy Wind, and one that the Big and Wake were both particularly excited about, Ice Punch along with Surf, Waterfall, Dive, and Whirlpool from the lifeguard when Wake joined the team. He takes a pink one and a dark one and offers them to Mysteria, teaching her Dazzling Gleam and Dark Pulse. He also teaches Hotstuff Fire Blast because an extra fire move can never hurt to have and hands off a thunderbolt TM to Tex lastly. Afterwards he recalls them all but the bug pokemon. "You are newest to the team Tex, I figured we could hang out for a while and maybe get some training in. What do ya say?" He asks. The bug kind of rolls her eyes and although Big cannot understand her yet he clearly got the message of biggest teenage "Whatever." that he had ever gotten from a pokemon. But they start on and the Grubbin keeps pace and Big sees that as progress as they make their way through the forest in search of someone barter for berries with.

Missingno. Master- With the Aggron now in a reasonable state of mind, you instruct your Pokemon to stand down. They'd be ready to step in if the Aggron threatened to harm you, but you sensed that wouldn't be necessary. You speak calmly, apologising to the Aggron and promising to clear away the source of unrest that had displaced so many Pokemon from their home. The message seems to hit its mark, the Aggron groans appreciatively before dragging its heavy body past you, heading out of the caverns and away from the irritating noise. As it moves away, George dashes in and retrieves something. It seems the Aggron knocked something loose from the rock!

You received 2 Psychic Gems!

George gained 2 levels!
Andromeda gained 1 level!

With the Aggron no longer blocking your path, Andromeda takes the lead once more and you continue down the tunnel. The strange noise grows louder as you get closer, you'd likely get a nasty headache if you were down here for too long. With the sound getting louder, you realise you must be getting close to the source. You go to take a step and George shoots out in front of you, scooping something off the ground before you can step on it. Andromeda turns to give you some light as George shows you what you nearly stepped on. It seems to be a shattered piece of pottery, with a few odd markings on it. The edges seem to be quite sharp, if George hadn't picked it up it likely would have cut your feet. Where had this come from? Was it some how connected to the noise?

Biggggg5- Deciding its time to relax a little bit, you venture to the Cloud Garden in search of cheap, natural medicine and perhaps a skirmish or two for your Pokemon to hone their skills. The Oran Orchard seems like the best place to head, with berries acting as a natural remedy and also likely attracting plenty of hungry Pokemon. You take a bit of time to teach your Pokemon some new moves, a number of which you received following your first visit to the Cloud Garden during the Winter Campaign. With a seemingly reluctant Tex in tow, you make your way through the Orchard, maybe if you found the family that ran the Orchard, they'd have a few jobs for you to do in exchange for the berries you needed?

The Grubbin comes to a stop as they spot something going down in a near by berry tree. A troop of Pansage are swarming the tree, plucking the red berries off the tree. You soon realize that they are stealing Occa berries, berries that would protect them from Fire type attacks. It makes sense that Grass type Pokemon would want protection from Fire types but surely they shouldn't be stealing every berry. There seems to be no one around to stop them, perhaps you could put a stop to them? Or maybe it was best to wait and see how the situation unfolds? Tex finally shows some enthusiasm, she looks eager for a fight, but the numbers were far from in her favour.

It was a tense moment indeed as Terri apologized to Aggron. Nobody present, psychic though some of them were, knew how this would go. Even with Aggron calmed down so much, would it listen to Terri? Would it believe her?

...as it turned out, yes on both counts. Aggron gave an appreciative groan before continuing on its way out of the cavern. Terri smiled at Aggron, happy that she was able to get through to the Steel/Rock-type, and especially happy she'd caught her mistake early enough to fix it.

"Oooh!" came George's voice. The Inkay swooped in and scooped up a couple of rather interesting-looking items. "Terri, look!"

And Terri did look. Her eyes brightened up as she saw what George was showing her. "Psychic Gems," she murmured, accepting the curious crystals from George. "I like these. Thank you, George," she smiled.

"Shall we continue, then?" asked Andromeda.

Terri nodded. "We shall," she confirmed.

And so they did. The Starmie led the way, her gem shining brightly as they continued onward. And as they did so, the strange noise got louder and more irritating. Headaches would surely ensue if they stayed in there for too long, so it was Terri's hope that whatever this was could be fixed fast.

And then, just as Terri was about to take another step, George sprang into action. "No, no, wait!" he exclaimed, swooping down, scooping up something Terri had been about to step on.

Terri tilted her head. "What is it?" she asked. In response, Andromeda turned to give her some much more adequate lighting, while the Inkay handed her the object he'd just picked up. A fragment of shattered pottery, with edges so sharp it was little wonder George was desperate for Terri to not step on it with bare feet. Terri accepted it, regarding the shard with intense curiosity. It had some odd markings on it. Terri wasn't sure where, or even if, she'd seen such markings before, and found herself quite curious about them. What was this doing here? Did this tie into the horrible noise somehow? Where did it come from?

"We should continue," the Starmie suggested. "I'm not convinced standing here and studying this shard will give us answers."

"You're right," nodded Terri. "Come on, then- let's keep going."

"Wait!" said George. "You almost cut your foot on that. What if there are more? Maybe you should put on your sandals?"

Terri did not look especially keen on this idea, though if there was any particular reason for this, she did not see fit to voice them. "I can keep a closer eye on the ground before me," she said. "George, can you help with that?" she asked. "Let me know if I'm about to step on anything else?"

"Well... OK," the Inkay responded uncertainly. He personally thought that Terri putting her sandals on would be a much simpler solution, but clearly she thought otherwise. Andromeda said nothing, despite being just as curious as to Terri's apparent affinity for going barefoot. This was far from the time or the place to get into any sort of in-depth discussion- that noise kept going, and none of them wanted to be subjected to it for any longer than they needed to be. So the Starmie led the way once more, while George and Terri followed, both of them making sure that Terri did not step on anything sharp.

*Andromeda grew to level 35!*

*Andromeda learned Reflect Type!*

*George grew to level 24!*

*George grew to level 25!

*Obtained 2 Psychic Gems!*

After carefully divvying up the tms to his pokemon Big makes his way deeper into the forest in search of someone he could work for in exchange for Berries with his moody adolescent Grubbin in tow. But before he comes on any fellow humans he happens upon a group of Pansage systematically stripping a Occa Berry Tree of Occa berries. Will tilts his head, he can see why the specific berries would be appealing to the grass pokemon. With fire as their most commonly known weakness, the berries could definitely offer protection, but they seemed to be taking an awful lot of them for just that reason. Tex gnashes her pinchers a bit in eagerness but Big puts his hand up for her to stop. "Let's hang on a sec Tex. We don't know that they are stealing the berries." He says quietly so as to not arouse attention from the monkey pokemon. "For all we know these pokemon work for the orchard owners and are simply doing their jobs. Or maybe they are gathering them for some kind of threat to their habitat." He explains to his bug pokemon. She gives another killer eyeroll. "If I'm not out here to fight I don't know why I can't be back in my ball." She mutters moodily. Big gives a much less sassy look upwards in return and says: "Look let's just tail them for a little bit, we can see what they are gonna do with the berries and if it is malicious you can take point in stopping them." He says as he moves to take a better hiding spot to observe them.

The water was quite peaceful here but looking up river you could see the water was flowing fast, crashing violently against the rocks. Further up was a small waterfall, there was no way any Pokemon was making it up that unless it was trained to do so.

"Once we get up to the Fountain Garden I'll even see if I can get a hold of Jet for you, I'm sure he'd be happy to help you search for a Pidgey, I bet he knows the location of every bird Pokemon in the Cloud Garden!" Marina had expressed her willingness to train your Pokemon to handle the waterfall and even offered to help get you in contact with Jet. The only issue now was whether you had a Pokemon capable of learning Waterfall with you, and whether you were willing to get yourself wet in search for this elusive Pidgey. Marina's Gyarados growls with impatience, it appears you better make a decision quickly, before the Gyarados decides that it wants some lunch.....
Marina took the badge and held it up to the light to check its authenticity? Before giving it back to Melissa. "Alright, this looks legit," she said with a quick smile. "That said, you still need a Pokémon that knows Waterfall to get up to the second level. I can teach it to one of your Pokémon as we go, but I don't offer free rides." Her Gyarados growled to back up her statement.

Melissa considered the water in front of her. It looked quiet enough, but tracing it back upstream showed it racing down and crashing against some rocks in sprays. Even further upstream, there was a waterfall that made it obvious why the move Waterfall was needed.

"Once we get up to the Fountain Garden, I'll even see if I can get a hold of Jet for you. I'm sure he'd be happy to help you search for a Pidgey. I bet he knows the location of every bird Pokémon in the Cloud Garden!" Marina said.

Melissa huffed in amusement. "I don't think he'd know that much, but he definitely sounds like the person to go to for this kind of thing."

Marina's Gyarados interrupted with an impatient growl and Wildfire frowned at it a bit warily.

"It sounds like we should get going, though." Melissa pulled two Pokéballs off her belt, sending out Stream from one and offering the other to Wildfire. "Should be quick," she reassured her starter and he huffed skeptically before going in.

Turning back to Marina, Melissa gestured at her Finneon. "I don't have any big Pokémon that know Waterfall, but it should be fine, right?"
