TOONAMI'S BACK!!!!!!
ZOMG IT'S TRUE.
http://www.adultswim.com/shows/toonami/index.html EDIT: After the near orgasm I had, here are some concise thoughts of mine: It returns May 26th. And it's about time, too. I for one though Cartoon Network was headed downhill, but I think they can turn it around with the re-addition of a fan favorite.

Looking into it more, I'm finding little info on the broadcast times for it. Though, after April Fool's Day, I wouldn't be surprised if AS labelled their normal Saturday night anime (Bleach, FMA: Brotherhood, Durarara, Kekkaishi, Fooly Cooly, Big O, Ghost in the Shell and Inuyasha) as the new Toonami line up.
No doubt about it though: It'll be great no matter what they show. |

Toonami? Heh, wow. We had a channel for it over here in the UK, and I have fond memories of it. Then they changed it into Cartoon Network Too, which now only broadcasts slightly older shows than the main channel.
Who knows; if you Americans are getting it back, maybe we Brits will too.

They need to cultivate new fans instead of banking on nostalgia. We have to remember Toonami was an action block, not an anime one. The old-time line-up of Batman: The Animated Series, Gundam Wing, Dragonball Z, Voltron and ThunderCats was nigh-unstoppable.

Toonami changed it's lineup a multitude of times over the years. It's final incarnation was basically all anime with Naruto, One Piece, Bo Bo Bobo Bobobo, and some other shit I can't remember.
Anyway, I'm just happy to see it back. |

My biggest dream is that Symbionic Titan starts premiering again but on Toonami. Same with Generator Rex.
That would be really great. Looks great!

This, my god. Used to be the thing I looked forward to every day. I'm a bit disappointed they won't bring it back in the day time as it used to be; I think they'd get newer fans that way.

I think the first nail in the coffin for CN was when they determined some cartoons were "too old" for new fans and that they'd somehow find them distasteful.
Nevermind how Nickelodeon gets away with showing SpongeBob shorts from 1999.

Going through, it seems Kekkaishi, Durarara (;;), Big O, Fooly Cooly and Ghost in the Shell may be getting the boot. (Inuyasha isn't there either but AS has never not shown it since they've been able to.) Any way, that opens up 5/6 slots in the line up. Can honestly say I'm really interested as to what they're going to put in those spots.

According to Comcast's TV Guide, these will fill in the holes listed above.
12:30 Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood 1:00 Durarara! 2:00 FLCL 3:30 Ghost in the Shell/Stand Alone 4:00 Bleach 5:00 Durarara! Though this is unconfirmed (read: not on the Adult Swim website) if it's true, I'll be extremely disappointed.

Casshern Sins is a really good show, there's plenty of reason to be pleased about it. Tons of action and violence with a good plot, it would be worthy of Toonami back in the day once it goes through the censorship buzzsaw.
DMW though...

I'm rather fond of the DMW manga but have never seen the anime. I'll give it a chance at the least. I honestly think they could've made better choices if they were looking to put Funi dubbed anime on. Freezing is the first thing that comes to mind but it'd probably get a fair bit of censorship bcos boobs. |
