Angelique’s Zone: please reply in pink

Electric Blue Eye: Scatterbug appeared keen to travel the world with you and it stared intently at the Safari Ball in your hand. You had a hard decision to make, should you bring the little insect along with you? It was so innocent after all and after all you had been through it might be too much for the cutie. You needed to be prepared to face any danger and your team had to be equally as strong, could such a small cute Pokemon be what you needed? You had to be open and honest with Scatterbug, you had to make sure its decision was an informed one. You explain that although you had the most fun in the longest time this was a far cry from your life. It was full of danger and perils and Scatterbug may be better off with a trainer who could play with it all the time, give it a life of fun and safety. Scatterbug looks up at you as you finish talking and with a determined look on its face it Tackles your leg making you wince and hop about holding your leg. Had you offended it somehow? You look down to see a smirk on its face, it looked confident and it touches the Safari Ball with its head before being sucked inside. It pings and you pick it up as Angelique smiles happily at you.

“I think that Scatterbug was trying to tell you in its own way that it’s tougher than you think and is ready for whatever you will throw at it. I’m so glad you’ve made a new friend, I can tell you have a wonderful Pokemon for life there,” she says as you scan the ball with your Pokedex:

Congratulations, you have captured a Level 05, Female Scatterbug.
She will one day evolve into this beautiful Icy Snow Pattern Vivillion!

“I would love to spend more time with you but now you have become friends with Scatterbug I’m afraid our time here is over. We’ll have to go on that shopping trip together real soon.” Angelique says leading you out of her zone.

Congratulations on being the second person to capture a Pokemon. I know the adventure was short but I hope you enjoyed it all the same. You can add Scatterbug’s data to your team now and RP with it immediately upon replying to this post. Have fun ^-^

Ex-Admiral Insane: You can’t help but fall about laughing as the terrified Swirlix leaps out from behind the rock and gets stuck in the tree, it was hilarious! You taunt the little fairy type before pulling out your Safari Ball preparing to capture the Pokemon. Rags intervenes before you can throw it however, even Angelique looks a little shocked by your actions, you hadn’t even had a chance to befriend it yet. You drop the Pokeball in pain and begin to argue with the Gallade as he held his standards high, he didn’t want you to just capture the first poor Pokemon that got stuck in a tree. This goes on for a while whilst Angelique frowns not impressed by your actions. You finally give up and agree to help the Swirlix out and slowly approach it hoping to not scare it into attacking. It stopped struggling to turn and look at you with guarded eyes. You manage to get your hands around its sticky body and pulling hard you manage to free it from the tree. It looks at you carefully as you hold onto it and suddenly spits out sticky threads that cover your face and shoulders making you drop it.

“I think you offended it,” Angelique points out as a matter of fact. You look down to the little puff ball to see it glaring at you with angry eyes, “It doesn’t look afraid of you anymore, more angry and looking for revenge” Angelique says wonder what you would do to respond.

Byron’s Zone: please reply in brown

Davethefishguy: It didn’t matter to you that the squidgy little Goomy wasn’t a water type, it was interesting and you quite fancied the idea of training another dragon. It didn’t look like a dragon either and your Pokedex stated that it was the weakest dragon type in the world but that didn’t stop you from making your decision. You bend down to allow Rincewind to crawl down your arm and stand face to face with Goomy who remained partially submerged in the water. It appears to be thinking about your words, liking the thought of becoming a stronger dragon. It turns to face Rincewind before pulling itself out of the water and firing a Bubble at Rincewind, the Trapinch wincing in pain at the super effective attack. That looked like a challenge if any.

“Well mon ami, it appears that you have your wish, good luck in your battle, this will be a good opportunity to bond with both Pokemon,” Byron says standing back to allow you room to battle, now it was time to prove yourself.

Yvette’s Zone: please reply in purple

Shadowshocker: After a brief scuffle with the Binacle you quickly begin to realise that Lestrange wasn;t suited to this battle. He shook the water off his body seething at the odd Pokemon he was battling, pawing at the ground wanting to dig those claws into its body. You recall him back and he begrudgingly shuffles back whilst you call out another charge to enter the fray. The Ferroseed spins as he’s released and eyes up his target whilst Yvette observes the newcomer with interested eyes. You were now ready to continue and Binacle looked unfazed by your switch. With his orders in mind Durin begins his assault.

Durin spins quickly sending a barrage of Seed Bombs into the air before they come crashing down into the pond and striking Binacle hard and throwing it from its hiding place. Binacle is a little dazed and in pain from the very effective grass attack that it doesn’t notice the Leech Seed fire at it. It wraps around its body and begins to suck the very life out of it. It grimaces in pain and narrows its gaze at Durin. It casts a wry grin at the barbed Pokemon and uses its Shell Smash to break its rock down to a much smaller size shedding the Leech Seed in the process ... crafty. The Shell Smash also had the bonus properties of greatly increasing its Attack, Special Attack and Speed at the cost of its defences. Binacle speeds across the water and rakes a hand down Durin’s body in a Scratch attack staring in shock as it has little effect on the steel type ...

“I don’t think it realised that Ferroseed was part steel type,” Yvette mused, “it won’t make that mistake again though. Its defences are down now though so it would be a good time to attack!” she states squeezing your hand hard whilst cheering you on.

blazeVA: Yvette listens intently as you talk about Francesco’s origins and she coos at the thought of him becoming a beautiful dancing Beautifly.

“How wonderful that you nurture such creative outlets in you Pokemon, you don’t see that every day,” she says clearly impressed with you both. Shortly after you finish your conversation you see the sparks flying into the air and go to investigate. Next to a tree nearby sat a small ‘fat hamster Raichu’ that was trying to suck electricity from the tree and can’t help but wonder if the creature was right in the head. Yvette blinks a little at your question and frowns as she too observes the strange actions of the Dedenne.

“There are no electricity outlets here, perhaps it’s trying to drain whatever it can find,” she answers also confused by the little mouse’s actions. You consider walking away when you remember that your Wurmple knew Electroweb, perhaps if you could give the Dedenne it’s fix you would have done your good deed for the day. You ask Yvette to be silent and she wonders what you could be planning. Francesco shoots his ElectroWeb that attaches itself to several leaves in the tree and Dedenne suddenly turns its attention upwards. It squeaks excitedly and climbs the tree swiftly before plugging its tail into the web and sucking out what little electricity was there with a happy sigh.

“What a great idea, that was so clever,” Yvette gushes as she leads you away to search for another Pokemon ... hopefully one with a few more brain cells. You soon find yourself near the edge of the pond, the water was so clear and cool and you can’t help but wonder what Pokemon lay here. It doesn’t take you long to find out as you feel a pain in your leg and look down to see a pair of hands clamped to it?

“Its a Binacle, this one is a little aggressive, perhaps we wandered into its territory,” Yvette stated whilst you had to work out how to get it off

Quilavaflare: The first round of the battle hadn’t gone well, you had forgotten about Pokemon’s abilities and it was unfortunate that Espurr’s nullified your Sand Attack; it wasn’t worth trying that again. As Astral’s first battle she was beginning to find out how hard they really were. She looks down at her wing that had a small scratch across the flesh, it had only been a weak attack but it still hurt thanks to the Leer earlier. You sigh at your lack of preparation for a fight and hang your head in shame and Yvette tries to perk you up.

“Don’t give up yet, you can win I know it. Keep trying, the battle has only just started” You decide to persevere promising to heal Astral when it was all over. With her new orders she begins to flap her wings hard once again as Espurr gets back to its feet. A small Twister forms in front of Astral and winds its way towards Espurr knocking it over once again, the dragon attack doing some good damage and ruffling up its fur. It smoothes down its fur and get back up before looking cutely at Astral who is confused by the change in demeanour. It slowly makes its way towards Astral is who taken over by how cute it looked now and then it struck. It whipped its paws out striking with its Covet and taking Astral’s Silk Scarf in the process. Astral looks horrified to have her held item taken and she squawks angrily and takes to the sky preparing to attack once again, lunging down to slam into Espurr with another Fly pushing them back along the grass. They both get back up and Espurr infuriates Astral by putting her scarf around its neck.

“Keep it up, I think Espurr is weakening,” Yvette states cheering you on.
Evdee looks back, thankful for Yvette's support but at the same time doubting the truthfulness in her statement. In fact, Espurr only seemed to be getting stronger as ever as the battle went on. With an underhanded tactic, the Pokemon had been able to steal Astral's Silk Scarf without problem. A little surprised, Evdee begins to formulate a new plan, running through ideas in head fairly quickly, but without any experience it was hard to tell what the outcome would be, especially when it came to this unpredictable little creature. Had he started a fight that was perhaps a little out of his league?

Calming himself, Evdee simply tries to conclude what Espurr could be planning against him. It had stolen the scarf, which was supposed to enhance a Pokemon's Normal type powers. Surely this meant it was intending to hit with more normal moves, like the scratch attack it had used not to long ago? And if that were true, since as far as he knew most normal moves were physical, they could avoid extra damage by staying at range!

More relaxed with some sort of plan in mind, Evdee calls out a new set of orders for his partner:

"Ok... Astral, make sure you stay back from it, alright? Use Twister from a distance, and then if you can, do it again."

And I find that naming a Pokemon is special regardless what name you chose, it makes you closer as friends,” He smiles as he leads you within his zone. He doesn’t seem offended in the least, there is a lot you tell him about Unova and the same with him and Kalos and he seemed to appreciate your honesty. You explain that you were here to search for new friends, and if they could handle your Pokemon that would be a bonus too. Bryon brightens at that news, it was always good to surround yourself with friends. As you watch the antics of your two monkeys you come across the Hawlucha training on the rock ... all you needed with the soundtrack of Eye of the Tiger in the background to make it perfect. You try scanning it with your Pokedex but curse that you had forgotten to get the upgrade before the event, you only had what Byron could tell you about the fighter. It certainly was interesting and Red appeared more than keen to fight it but as he was restrained by Blue you began to picture what your home would look like if you had those two at each other’s throats and you grimace. Byron laughs at your exclamation and concern.

“Mon ami you are amusing, yes I can see that your Pansear is hot-headed and these two could be great sparring partners but I understand your concern. Come then, let’s leave Hawlucha to its training and search for another friend.” You walk past Hawlucha who still hasn’t noticed you, too deep into its workout and head further into the zone.

“So we need to find a Pokemon that is a little calmer to balance out your team right?” Byron asks noticing that the two monkeys you brought were arguing over something else now. You sigh and go to break them up when you spot a flash of brown fur through the grass. You stop and watch as it circles you before leaping out into a clearing. It wags its tail happily and playfully bats its eyes at you.

“Well this Pokemon is not native to Kalos alone but it has a new evolution in our country. Eevee looks likes it wants to play with you,” he explains as you look down to the evolution Pokemon who yips happily.
Michael continued on into the zone, still looking for the perfect Pokemon partner for him. Behind him, Red was yelling at Blue for restraining (and pulling him) away from the other Hawlucha. The argument went unnoticed for a while until Byron politely drew Michael's attention away from his search.

“So we need to find a Pokemon that is a little calmer to balance out your team right?”

Michael was about to reply when Byron looked back down the path to see Blue and Red squaring up for a scrap - again. With a sigh, Michael walked back to his pokemon with a look of annoyance on his face.

"Guys, seriously? If you won't behave yourselves together then I'll return you to your Pokeballs!"

The (empty) threat of discipline stopped the two monkeys as they hurriedly tried to make themselves look innocent. Michael turned back to his guide.

"Sorry about this, Byron. You wouldn't know that these two are friends the way they go o-"

His apologies were cut short as he caught sight of something moving in the corner of his eyes. He quickly looked through the grass trying to find the something but all he could see were flashes of brown. At his feet, Red readied a defensive stance preparing to protect his trainer while Blue crept into the bushes, ready to jump the weird blur. Suddenly, the figure leaped out into the clearing, revealing itself to be an Eevee. From what he and Byron could tell, the Eevee didn't seem hostile at all - in fact, it looked like it wanted to play with them! Red remained wary of the small Pokemon as Michael walked over to it's side. He knelt down and started trying to stroke the Eevee's head.

"Well, if it wants to play, then I can't say no! What do you want to do, lil' dude?"

Having made his case, Dave watched with baited breath as the Goomy contemplated his arguments. Slowly, the slug-like creature slithered out of the water, onto the land at the pond's edge, and squared off against Rincewind. Dave grinned, even as it opened its mouth and let loose a spray of bubbles, which drifted over to pepper the Trapinch. "Not a Water-type, but you've got some moves, I'll give you that." he responded. Dragons typically had diverse movepools, able to manipulate almost every element to their advantage.

Rincewind winced slightly from the attack, but his recent training allowed him to shake it off relatively easily. He was no longer the little larva he'd been when he first came into Dave's ownership, and let out a few clicks as he snapped his jaws, ready for battle as Byron stepped back. "Thanks, my friend. Alright then, let's see what you can do, Goomy." The human afforded himself a smile, for a second looking similar to his Pokémon's toothy visage as he took stock of the situation.

"Alright Rincewind, I don't think we're going to have much luck with your teeth here - Goomy's body is soft and pliable, it'll just squidge itself to reduce impact from your biting attacks." The Ant Pit Pokémon clicked in response, annoyed that he wouldn't be able to sink his teeth into his foe this time. Dave weighed up his options. This was the first time he'd had to battle a Pokémon to catch it - Detritus had battled with him and allowed himself to be captured after. "Let's shake things up with Bulldoze, then see how it enjoys your Signal Beam!"

The Scatterbug looked a bit offended at the prospect that to Ethan, it might have seemed too weak for it to combat any periling hurdles he and his team of Pokémon may have dealt with in the past. To this, the Bug Type charged with great force before Tackling down the trainer on the knee and causing him great pain! Knocking the Safari Ball out of his hand and onto the floor…while he hopped on one leg and held the other.

His Togepi and Gastly, who couldn’t hold the transformation for long from ghost to human form began trilling and laughing uncontrollable. The ball rolled closer to the Scatterbug and when Ethan had looked the Bug Type had a smirk painted over its cute little face before waddling over and tapping the center of the capsule, a red light absorbing the Pokémon inside. It took a moment as the ball shook once, twice…*ping*

James and Serena a bit shocked at how forward the bug had been, not knowing what to say they instead cheered!

"I think that Scatterbug was trying to tell you in its own way that it’s tougher than you think and is ready for whatever you will throw at it. I’m so glad you’ve made a new friend, I can tell you have a wonderful Pokemon for life there," Angelique said.

Ethan picked up the ball from off of the floor, and could see that the Pokémon he had caught inside was sleeping soundlessly in the sphere. It must’ve been so tuckered out from the day it needed to rest. The man thought before scanning the ball with his Pokedex, in truth he almost never did this but maybe it was high time he did, he was a trainer after all.

Quote:
"Scatterbug, the Scatterdust Pokémon," droned the machine, "When under attack by Bird Pokémon, Scatterbug spews out a poisonous black powder that can cause paralysis on contact. It is said that because of the powder that surrounds it’s body it can regulate it’s temperature, so that it can live in any region or climate."
"I would love to spend more time with you but now you have become friends with Scatterbug I’m afraid our time here is over." Anglique said sounding rather sadden.

"I completely understand, I had a fantastic time though," Ethan said as he clipped the Safari Ball back on his belt and bent over, picking up his Togepi who began yawning from how tired she was from playing.

Leading the young trainer out Anglique said, "We’ll have to go on that shopping trip together real soon."

"Most defiantly!" The trainer assured, "Thank you for everything." Ethan said before walking out waving his hand in goodbye with his sleeping Togepi in his other arm, best friend James at the side and a new Pokémon having joined the family. They walked away from the steel tower glittering in the sunset glow with new found memories and friends.

[And the journey continues…]

You guys were absolutely amazing for coming up with such an interesting and fun event, thank you for updating me and creating a great story!! Good luck getting everyone else out of here!

I don't know that I would want to get caught in a trap either,” Remy states understandingly, “So let's head out this way and get away from it for a bit. Like you said, if it is still stuck later we can work to help it out then.”

As you move about the tall grass you start to smell something sweet in the air. Mia let's out a loud “caw” to alert you to something off to your right. Moving over to see what it is she saw from above you find yourself face to face with a little pink bird who dutifully trying to build a nest of some kind on the ground.

“Oh hey! That's a Spritzee! They are considered the best smelling pokemon ever. Women in kalos often carry them around with them,” Remy explained.

What will you do?
A Honedge was not exactly something to mess with, especially considering the team Hyrem brought with him. “I don't blame you for leaving it there," Remy added. "I don't know that I would want to get caught in a trap either. So let's head out this way and get away from it for a bit. Like you said, if it is still stuck later we can work to help it out then.”

Once they moved into the tall grass, Hyrem began sniffing the air around him. "Do you smell that?" he asked. "Smells nice..." "Tai tai!" Amelia chirps loudly, signalling she saw something off to the right. "What'd you find?" Hyrem asked his Taillow, heading towards that spot only to come across a tiny, pink bird making what looked like a nest on the ground. “Oh hey! That's a Spritzee!" Remy said with a smile. "They are considered the best smelling Pokemon ever. Women in Kalos often carry them around with them.” "They look pretty cute too!" Hyrem replied before consulting his Pokedex again while Mia landed to talk with the bird:

Spritzee, the Parfum Perfume Pokemon. The smell it gives off is very soothing to anyone around it and may change after eating something different. This Pokemon is very popular in high class society as women use them instead of perfumes, feeding them what would give off the most desirable scent.

"So this is one of the new type, isn't it?" he asked himself. "Fairy-type, huh? It really is cute, but not something I'm interested in. Come on, Mia, let's leave it alone so it can get back to building its nest!" "Tai..." she chirped sadly. Spritzee smelled so good too! But her trainer was already moving away, she didn't want to get left behind, so she reluctantly obeyed and said goodbye to the Fairy-type before taking off to search the skies for other Pokemon. "Okay, let's move on then!" Hyrem told Remy as he hoped something else popped up that he would want more than Spritzee or Honedge.

Sweetbbydoll: Finding Sam's disinterest in competing with the Pancham, the four of you continue on through the grass. Chantelle a little surprised at how deep the conversation with your pokemon was getting. It was obvious to her that you had quite the bond with your partners to be able to discuss philosophical topics such as the meaning of life with them. You make your way toward the pond. “So that's a litwick,” Chantelle commented with a smile, “It's cute. Are you some kind of Fire type trainer?”

Eventually you reach the pond where you notice a chill in the air. It is then that you see a slender bluish pokemon approach the water and dip its long neck down to take a drink. “Hey! It's an Amaura! It's a kind of dinosaur pokemon. They were extinct at one point, but the revitalization of fossils has started to bring a few of them back.”

What will you do?
“A Fire type trainer?” Liza smiled “Actually when I started out in my journey I was hoping to become more accustomed to Water types being from Cerulean and all. I thought that maybe after hatching my Piplup and encountering a Magikarp that that might have been the case but with Charmander, Litwick, Houndour, Vulpix and currently hunting another one down…I guess you could say I kind of…sort of…specialize in the type.” She giggled a bit “But another type of Pokémon that tends to flock to me is Ice Types. Odd, considering how Fire and Ice don’t mix, but I have 3 of them so far and a few others that catch my interest-” Liza no sooner said that, when a sudden cold chill grabbed the girl by surprise.

“Wow, is that cold!” she rubbed her arms with her hands for warmth “And I should know, I have a Snover that makes it snow all year long!” she said with her breath clearly visible in the air.

Liza wondered what might have created the sudden change of temperature when she saw laid out in front of her eyes, near the pond they had been heading towards, was a beautiful baby blue dino with a long slender neck, short stubby tail and diamonds on both side of its body.

Sam had almost been close to smacking her trainer with her firey tail, seeing the gleam of happiness in her eyes as she jumped up in excitement/cold, to prevent her from scaring away the Pokémon.

“You guys stay here” she instructed “If too many of us go, it might feel like it's getting ganged up against.”

So she stepped up slowly as the Amaura drank water from the pond. She tried easing her way near it, hoping not to frighten the creature by making a sound and approached with the at most caution.

“Hi there…” she said softly “Want to be friends?”

Missingo Master: With the battle underway you find yourself feeling pretty good about showing how a trainer from the land of Fizzy bubbles battles. Having Hannah's strong movepool helps. Although as you've seen, some moves take a little more out of her than others. Still, she seems good to go. Her bug energy is just low. Nodding to Meowth's observation you call out your next set of attacks.

Hannah flaps her tail and easily frees herself from the muck she had been knocked down into. Her body soon becoming like a missile as she swims around in circles creating a Whirlpool in the pond. The froakie starts to get caught up in the rush of water and finds itself unable to break free. Instead it decides to try to disrupt Hannah by firing a Bubble at her. Hannah's spikes pop the bubble, but the energy inside releases and knocks her a bit off course. Not enough to stop the whirlpool she has created, but enough to keep her from making any stronger than it already is. In retaliation, she spits out a Sludge Bomb that hits its mark perfectly. The froakie losing any sense of stability it had and firing another Bubble haphazardly. Somehow luck was on the side of the frog however as the bubble floated off and manages to catch Hannah as she comes around in the current. Once again she finds herself off balance. From the shore it almost seems like the two pokemon are taking potshots at each other from different sides of the whirlpool as they spin and swirl. All in all, it looks like Hannah has the upper hand given how little the attacks of the frog have done to her, but she seems to be more fatigued than the froakie at this point.

What will you do?

Remy's Zone- Please respond in Green

Arc Angel: The Klefki nabs the keyring you offer it and quickly adds it to its collection of keys. You can tell by the energetic response that it is extremely grateful to you. It flips about in the air for a bit before it nuzzles up against your cheek and flies off. Remy grins, “You seem to be making quite a few friends here. I would guess that any pokemon that you do decide to become partners with will be very happy.”

You continue to walk along and Remy once more begins the small talk, “So you've never seen a Fairy type before. That's interesting. I suppose it's not too surprising given that it is a fairly new typing.” You find yourself coming almost full circle on the backside of the rocky outcropping near the pond, “I can't imagine being able to sleep peacefully in a haunted mansion. I don't know if I could do that even if the ghosts were my friends. Seems unsettling for some reason.” Remy's thoughts were suddenly cut off as his eyes catch something shining in the distance.

“That thing is still there?” he asks himself rhetorically as he points out a sword sticking out of a rock with a ribbon hanging down wrapped around a sheath. “That's a Honedge. Another trainer saw it earlier and thought about helping it, but changed his mind once he found out about the danger it presented. Honedge are notorious for draining life energy, so be careful if you go near it.”

What will you do?

Gemini Spark: While the Spritzee is cute, you decide that it is not quite what you are looking for. Instead of bothering the little bird while it builds its nest, you call out to Mia and let her know that you are moving on. The tiny bird responds and once more begins her search pattern above you.

“So how long have you been training pokemon?” Remy asks as you make your way along through the grass, “I know some trainers have been doing this for a long time while others are quite new.” You keep walking and once more Mia calls out to you. Coming around she flies down toward you and swoops by as if letting you know that you should follow her.

You step out into an area where the grass is a little shorter to find a blue frog holding a stick and wearing a leaf on its head doing some kind of song and dance thing. Although the song is mostly made up of the word froakie or variations of it, there is a definite tune. Remy is at a loss for words at the sight, but soon recovers, “Well that's a new one for me. That's a Froakie and it appears it is a bit of a showman.” Remy just watches the frog for a moment before saying, “Oh great now I have this song stuck in my head that goes, Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal... Arggh!”

What will you do?

You explain your reasons for passing up Amaura to Chantelle knowing that the dino would have a difficult time in a team filled with pokemon who have major advantages over it.

“Well you seem rather focused on one particular pokemon,” Chantelle states, “Let's hope you find what you are looking for. Although I do hope that even if you don't find what you want exactly that you don't leave here empty handed.”

You continue to walk as the chirps of a bird get louder. Suddenly a small red-headed bird swoops down and lands on top of Min. Perhaps her Attract had lured it to her, perhaps something else. What you do know is that as soon as any of you make a move toward Min the bird starts chirping loudly while flapping its little wings to make it look bigger than it is. “Looks like that Fletchling really likes Min. Be careful, they are known to be very territorial and if it has taken on Min as it own, you might be looking at a fight,” Chantelle said.

What will you do?
Levin's eyes widened at the sight before him. He was speechless for a moment, overwhelmed by a rush of conflicting feelings. Somehow, some way, nature in all its loathsome randomness had decided to bestow upon him the chance he thought would only present itself years later - a Fletchling appeared in Chantelle's zone, confirming his intuition. He'd been right to follow the chirping, right to leave behind amazing Pokemon like Pancham and Amaura. All for this moment, one that he risked everything to have. The number still rang in his head, to the young man's astonishment...

One in eight.

Levin often complained about bad luck, irritated by the illogical ways of the world. Nothing upset him more than being hindered by factors he couldn't control - he still hadn't forgotten that battle against Noriko where everything that could've gone wrong, did. That day he was forced to see Crix fall in defeat against the Luxio Elmira despite an almost flawless strategy on his part (in his personal opinion); he swore to this day that Noriko didn't beat him, randomness did.
But for all the unfortunate events he'd been through, he could count himself fairly lucky as of late: Aya, Dartz, Dux and Raff had all been random acquisitions from the Egg House that he just happened to be looking for, and destiny decided to grant them to him.

But no amount of luck or intuition came close to this. The gamble he'd taken, and the choices he'd made in this Safari thus far, could have backfired terribly - they still could, but now he had proof that he was right to have trusted his instincts. Above all, he was glad that he noticed that black feather on Chantelle's hat and took it as a subliminal message - regardless of whether it actually meant something. Everything had somehow come together perfectly to allow him to find the one Pokemon in all of Kalos he truly desired.

The red bird had landed on top of Min, clearly having taken an interest in her - to an almost obsessive degree, it would seem. Fletchling furiously flapped its wings and puffed its chest at the slightest hint of movement, intent on driving away anyone who approached it and the Cinccino.

If her Attract is causing this, then I might've just had the most unbelievable stroke of luck in my entire life. Even with no way to be certain, I have to believe...

Bud was clearly apprehensive - Flying-Types were obviously not his favourite kind of opponent. But he took a step forward nonetheless, in case Levin ordered him to strike. He was going to be ready, he wasn't going to mess up, he'd get it right this time! But his Trainer had other ideas.

- Easy Bud. We're not going to start a fight if we can help it; not the best way to make friends. Hey Fletchling! I see you fancy my friend Min... she's a really pretty gal, isn't she?

He rummaged through his Bag as he spoke. Finally having found what he wanted, he dropped to one knee and placed a Haban Berry on the ground.

- We don't want to hurt you; here, this is for you. There's more where it came from too, in case you'd like to tag along with me and Min...

He kept his eyes locked on Fletchling's the whole time, trying to win it over with his warm-hearted offers, but in between whispered simple instructions to Bud nonetheless.

- Stay put for now, but if it attacks, spray it with Sleep Powder. We're not hurting Fletchling unless we absolutely have to, that isn't how I want things to go down.

Airmid had an exuberance about her that seemed to fit in well. At least for the most part. The little mushroom wasting no time in preparing to make friends. Eventually, you decide to talk to Wyatt and he greets you warmly. Despite your surprise at his offer of getting a drink together, you seem to regain your poise quickly. Wyatt grins and gladly takes the garland from Airmid and places it around his neck. “Why thank you very much Arimid. It's lovely,” he says gently rubbing the side of the Shroomish's face.

The three of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. “Well Schala, why don't you tell me how you and such a crafty little pokemon managed to meet. Don't leave out what it is about her that you like so much either cause she seems awfully nice,” the Kalos trainer said.

As you walk for a bit through the tall grass Wyatt suddenly stops and holds his hand out to signal you to stop as well. You feel a slight chill in your body. Not cold necessarily, but something more creepy. “Look. Over there!” Wyatt pointed off toward a large orange orb with brown leaves on top and glowing yellow eyes, “It's a Pumpkaboo! And a Large one too! They don't get much bigger than that. Looks like we might have woken it up. They're nocturnal so it's going to be a little slow to react to us right now, but if we're lucky it won't be grumpy when it completely wakes up.”

“Boooooo..... boooooo...... booooo....!” the pumpkaboo begins to moan more and more loudly as it awakens.

What will you do?

When Wyatt took the garland without blinking and thanked Airmid, Schala relaxed. Anyone that was nice to Airmid was good in her book.

The Shroomish looked ecstatic that she'd already made a new friend. She wiggled excitedly as they headed into the safari zone with Wyatt.

Schala glanced around the area. It was surprisingly large, and she could tell that it had been made to house various Pokemon comfortably. She couldn't see any of them, but she was sure that would change shortly.

Wyatt's question once again caught her off guard, but this one was easy enough to answer. She paused and looked down at Airmid.

"It's not really an exciting story." She warned. "She was abandoned by her old trainer, and I found her. It didn't seem right to just leave her there, especially since she looked so sad and lonely."

She smiled, lost in the memory for a moment. "First thing she did was give me a garland like the one she gave you. She made one for my Houndour too, but that got burned up pretty quick. I don't really understand why someone would leave her behind, but I'm glad she's with me now."

Schala realized she had stopped moving while she answered Wyatt's question, and headed for the grass. She was a bit embarrassed she'd said that much, but it'd felt nice to say it.

Airmid had started squirming again, but this time it was a plea to be put down rather than an expression of excitement. Knowing that letting the Shroomish go would result in her running off to find new friends alone, Schala gave her a gentle squeeze and asked her to be patient.

There was a sudden chill in the air, and she shivered.

Probably a good thing I kept Airmid with me, came the thought.

While she assumed there wasn't anything dangerous in the Safari, and Airmid could take care of herself, she felt a bit uneasy.

Wyatt pointed out the cause of the chill, and Schala examined the new Pokemon.

Pumpkaboo, huh? She'd certainly never seen anything like it, but judging by the look and name, along with the chill still lingering in the air, she could make some guesses.

Ghost almost certainly...Ghost/Grass, maybe? Whatever it was, it was cute. And looked a little groggy, which made sense if it was nocturnal like Wyatt had said.

Airmid was squirming again, desperate to get down and meet the new Pokemon.

"Hang on a second. Rushing someone half asleep doesn't make a very good first impression, even if you are just giving them a gift." She muttered, amused.

Airmid went still, considering the point, and Schala used the opportunity to get a little closer.

She stopped a short distance from the Pokemon, just in case it was a little grumpy, and set Airmid on the ground, fairly confident that she wouldn't immediately run into the Pumpkaboo's personal space.

"Hello there. I'm sorry we woke you up." She told the ghost.

Glancing down, she noticed Airmid was once again sorting through her garlands, searching for the perfect gift.

The Pumpkaboo was moaning at them, and looking a bit more alert. She wasn't sure if the moaning was a threat, complaint, or just an attempt to scare them, but it didn't hurt to be careful.

Airmid, however, didn't seem to have noticed her trainer's caution. Having found a satisfactory gift, and decided that 'more awake' translated to 'awake enough for presents', the Shroomish had started to inch forward, a bright yellow garland grasped in her tiny hands.

Schala knew that actually stopping her at this point was practically impossible, so she sighed and kept an eye on the both of them. Hopefully Airmid looked sufficiently non-threatening, and the ghost wasn't that upset about being woken up.

Though Keith couldn't see exactly what was going down under the water, he most definitely saw the Whirlpool forming in the middle of the pond. And to Keith's satisfaction, he could also see the Froakie, caught up in the swirl of water. Unable to break free, the Kalosian Water-type instead opted to strike with a projectile move, pelting Hannah with a Bubble attack. Hannah being a Qwilfish, the bubbles themselves didn't harm her much, the spherical projectiles popping against her spikes. The energy they released, however, that was another story altogether. This didn't stop the Whirlpool, but it did stop Hannah from making it any stronger.

"Now, Hannah!" Keith exclaimed. "Sludge Bomb! Go!"

"Qwil... fish fish fish!" Hannah exclaimed, spewing her Sludge Bomb and hitting Froakie directly. By this point, Froakie had lost its bearings completely, and fired off another Bubble at random, managing to hit Hannah by sheer luck.

From Keith's point of view, it seemed as though they were circling each other, keeping on opposite ends of the whirlpool, trading attacks whenever they could. Though Froakie's attacks hadn't been doing a lot of damage to Hannah, it was clear that the Qwilfish was more tired than her opponent.

"Ehhh..." Meowth said as he watched this go on. "I tink ya better call Hannah back," he advised Keith.

"I don't disagree," conceded Keith, "but there's no way I'd be able to get away with that. Not if she's anything like Hebenon. No, she's not gonna give up, not until one of them wins... or until..." he added, glancing down at something in his hand. Meowth looked down, and could see that Keith had taken the Safari Ball out of his pocket and enlarged it to full size- the camouflage-and-white sphere was what Keith was looking at.

"You tink it'll stay in?" Meowth asked. "Ya only got one shot, ya know."

Keith considered these words in silence for a moment- true enough, it wouldn't be the first time he'd made this sort of mistake. The events of his adventure in the Sphinx weighed on Keith's mind every now and again, one part in particular- one of the challenges the Sphinx had set for him was to battle an Absol with a particular aptitude for battle. So skilled was that Absol that before long, Keith had set his sights on catching it, but was too hasty in throwing the Poké Ball- he and Malfoy, still a Croagunk at that time, hadn't weakened the Absol sufficiently, and it still had enough strength to not only slice the thrown ball clean in half, but also go on to defeat said Croagunk and flee before Keith could call out another Pokémon, or order Myrtle to do something (not that she could've done too much- Myrtle, Keith's Banette, was still a Shuppet back then, and was much lower in level than Malfoy at the time, to say nothing of the horrific type disadvantage).

That incident weighed on Keith's mind every now and again, but one good thing did come of it- it taught him an all-too-valuable lesson in not jumping the gun when trying to catch a Pokémon. Indeed, Froakie may have been rather disoriented, but it was still conscious and launching attacks, so Keith took very little time to make his decision on the matter.

"Right. You're right," he nodded, in response to Meowth's words. "Hannah's a little tired, but she's tough. I know she can hang in there and throw out one more attack. Hopefully, that's all we'll need."

"She is tough," agreed Meowth.

"Just a little more, Hannah!" Keith called out. Though he looked and sounded confident on the outside, inside he was nervously wondering if this was really going to work. He was only going to order Hannah to use one more attack, and an attack that was guaranteed to hit, no less, but if Signal Beam had taken such a toll on her, this was surely going to be even harder on her! Still, even amid the nervousness, still he had confidence in Hannah's tenacity. "Wrap this up with Shock Wave!" As he said this, he tightened his grip on the Safari Ball- surely this Froakie wouldn't be doing too well after taking an Electric attack. He knew not when the time would come to throw it, but he had a feeling it was coming soon.

As Hyrem, Remy, and Amelia moved away from the Spritzee Remy asked, “So how long have you been training pokemon? I know some trainers have been doing this for a long time while others are quite new.” Hyrem had to think for a moment before answering. "I've been here for a couple of years at least," he finally said. "It doesn't feel that long though, I still think I've got a lot to learn. And some of my Pokemon are forcing me to learn a few things the hard way. I still love them all, no matter how tough they may or may not make my life, and that's something that's never changed." "Tai taillow!" Mia chirps again as a signal. "You find something again? Where is it?" She dives then flies by with a "Taillow!" to show them the way. She leads them to an area with shorter grass where a blue frog with bubbles on its back is singing and dancing while sporting a leaf on its head and carrying a stick. Its singing was in Poke-speak (which Mia could understand, but she tilted her head in confusion as she'd never heard the song before), but the tune seemed very familiar to Remy as he was thrown completely off guard by it. “Well that's a new one for me," he finally said after watching in a daze. "That's a Froakie and it appears it is a bit of a showman.” Hyrem could only smile as he registered this new Kalos Pokemon in his Pokedex:

Froakie, the Bubble Frog Pokemon. The bubbles that foam around this Pokemon are used to defend itself when it is being attacked. While it may keep a vigilant awareness of its surroundings, it is also very playful and enjoys the company of Pokemon and humans.

As he and Remy continued to watch, the latter soon found himself groaning, “Oh great now I have this song stuck in my head that goes, Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal... Arggh!” Hyrem could only laugh and continued to grin. Now that's a Pokemon I want, he thought, we could use someone with some musical talent! He figured, however, that the frog would be singing something more akin to the music of the Kanto region. Oh well, if he caught it, maybe it could learn to play the guitar... "Hey Mia!" he called to his Taillow, "come down and say hi!" "Taillow~" she chirped happily before flying down and landing on her trainer's shoulder, absolutely bewildered by the Froakie's unusual movements. "Come to think of it, if Froakie really likes music that much, I bet it'd like this..." He reached into his backpack and pulled out a White Flute, then sat down and began playing a lively tune that he hoped wouldn't suddenly summon a rainstorm as was its purpose in a certain videogame he played. A quick glance over to Mia revealed that she liked the song and began bobbing her head and chirping in time with the music, even whistling it as he continued playing it, something he didn't expect from his baby swallow at all. It certainly seemed like a good idea and a good choice of music, but would Froakie like it as much as Mia did?

After all, in your mind it didn't make a lot of sense to save a pokemon just to knock it unconscious. Once you pull out the Safari Ball the keyring hovers back from you a bit as its keys seem to have a bit of a nervous shake to them. You continue to explain your motives and klefki begins to calm down as it stares at both you and Waldemar. Finally there is an uncomfortable moment of silence as the klefki mulled over its decision. Finally you see it begin to flip about in the air in front of you joyously while shouting “Klefki! Klef! Ki! Ki!”

Remy smiles, “I would say that's a big yes! Congratulations my friend. It looks like you have just obtained your first pokemon from the Kalos region. Now let's see just what you have there...” Remy walks up and looks at the klefki a little closer and then steps back, “It looks to me like you have a Level 5, Male Klefki there. I hope the two of you become great friends and partners from this point on. Or at least after you put him on that Safari Ball. Thank you Connor and Waldemar. This has been a fantastic day for me and I hope it was for you too. However, now that you have caught your pokemon, I'm afraid that time is up and we will have to say good bye for now. Look me up in the future though and maybe we can do something! Au revoir mes amis!”

uhhhhh I would like to say congratulations on being the first person in FB to catch a Gen VI pokemon. Please reply to this post as a confirmation of your capture and after that you are free to go about FB with your brand new Klefki as you please. I know this adventure ended up being pretty short, but I hope you still enjoyed it. Thank you for your wonderful replies. I enjoyed this quite a bit.
After Connor has attempted to befriend Klefki into joining with him, the keyring Pokemon floated in front of them in silence, contemplating on the choice laid out before him. "I understand if you need some time, this isn't an easy decision after all. Think it through okay?" the photographer added before the silence continued on. The Klefki looked at Connor, then Waldemar, and back to Connor again until he broke the silence and cried out in joy, “Klefki! Klef! Ki! Ki!” Waldemar followed suit in joining Klefki in joyous shouting, "Licky lick! Lickilicky!" Remy followed suit in congratulating Connor, “I would say that's a big yes! Congratulations my friend. It looks like you have just obtained your first pokemon from the Kalos region," Connor had a huge smile on his face upon basically hearing Klefki's yes. "Oh thank you so much Klefki! I promise you that you won't regret your decision," the photographer grabbed a hold of the keyring Pokemon, akin to a handshake.

"Right, if you're coming with me then I'm gonna need a name for you! Let's see..." As Connor began to think of a name, Remy inspected the Klefki for a bit before he spoke up, "Now let's see just what you have there... It looks to me like you have a Level 5, Male Klefki there.” " Male huh? How about... Troussel then?" Connor suggested to Klefki which he happily nodded at the name, "Ki, Klefki!" Remy smiled at the two that are already starting to bond, "I hope the two of you become great friends and partners from this point on. Or at least after you put him on that Safari Ball." Remy pointed at the ball on Connor's hand. "You like it? That's good, then it's settled then! Let's become good friends Troussel!" he said as he lightly tapped the center part of the Safari Ball on the appendage above Klefki's head, absorbing the Pokemon in. Connor felt one, two, three shakes on the ball until he heard a ping, signaling Klefki's capture.

"Alright then, come on out Troussel!" Connor called out as he immediately sent out Klefki back outside the ball. As soon as Troussel materialized back, he went straight inside Connor's pocket, searching for something, "Whoa, hey what are you---" before he could finish that sentence, Troussel got out of his pocket. A closer inspection on Troussel reveals that there was an additional key on his ring now, a familiar key of Connor's. The photographer couldn't help but chuckle, "Okay, now I really can't let you run off now. I can't go back home without those! Although... I guess this is your way of making sure you're staying with me, isn't it?" Connor then stopped as he thought about the other keys that Klefki had, "You know, I've been wondering... where did you get those other keys with you? I don't think people would just drop that many keys here in the Safari. Hmmm..."

While Connor was thinking about the origins of Troussel's other keys, Remy approached him and Waldemar and spoke, "Thank you Connor and Waldemar. This has been a fantastic day for me and I hope it was for you too. However, now that you have caught your pokemon, I'm afraid that time is up and we will have to say good bye for now. Look me up in the future though and maybe we can do something! Au revoir mes amis!" it was then that Waldemar suddenly gave Remy a huge hug and gently licked him, "Haha, I guess you're friends now with Waldemar Remy! Er... sorry about the drool, though." Connor laughed at the sight before he was reminded of what Remy had said to him, "It's over already though, that's a shame. I haven't even gotten some photos... inside of... the... place... AAAAAAH!" Waldemar, Troussel, and Remy were shocked at Connor's sudden outburst, "That reminds me, I haven't even taken a single photo yet! What kind of a photographer am I?! Aw man, I can't believe this..." Connor sighed in defeat as Waldemar patted his back. All of a sudden though Connor bounced back, "Guess I had too much fun huh? Oh well, better late than never right? Remy, how about a photo before we part ways? You too Troussel!"

======

And so today, Connor has gained a new friend accompanying him on his journey. While his time was short in the Friend Safari, he enjoyed every moment that he spent there, with Waldemar, Remy, and Troussel. With a new friend in tow, Connor Connelly's journey continues on...

At least not battle with the other charmander that was. Chantelle smiled at you and your pokemon broadly as she patted Tia on the head and then moved over to Flandre commenting as she pet the lizard, “Well you are the second charmander I have met today. I must be a very lucky girl! I have to say, its very nice to have a sister to travel with you. Maybe I'm not the only lucky girl here.” Chantelle smiled and nodded at your two pokemon companions before leading you outside.

The four of you soon head out into a grassy area with a pond in the corner. Short fences have been erected around the zone, but you can see that there is plenty of room for pokemon to roam. “So tell me about your sisters here,” Chantelle says looking toward you and your pokemon, “Are they real sisters or were they born at the same time or are they just sisters because they are a part of your pokemon family? I would like to hear all about them.”

You continue along when you notice a high pitched kind of... singing? “Bay bay! Fla... bay bay...!” As you look in the direction of the song you notice a small white and yellow pokemon riding on a red petalled flower singing into the stigma or the flower like it was a microphone as it floats across the grass on the wind.

“Oh look! A Flabébé! It's soooo... cute!” Chantelle smiles broadly.

What will you do?

Katsura couldn't help but feel a little awkward around Chantelle, despite the composed greeting he was able to give her. He wasn't one to actively seek out human company, having always had a preference for being in his own little world with his Pokemon or alone with his face in a book. She seemed to be a nice person at least, if her treatment of Tia and Flandre was any indication, and both of them looked happy to have her around.

It wasn't long before they found themselves walking across the Friend Safari. It was a rather plain environment, but still looked to be a comfortable home for whatever Pokemon might reside within it, and Katsura had begun to survey his surroundings carefully, keeping a hand to his brow to shield his eyes from the sun; his Pokemon following suit once they had taken notice. His focus was eventually broken by Chantelle, however, who decided to break the ice with a question.

“So, tell me about your sisters here, are they real sisters or were they born at the same time or are they just sisters because they are a part of your pokemon family? I would like to hear all about them.”, she asked.

"Uh... Well, I guess there is an odd chance they might be related by blood in some way, but I haven't actually confirmed it.", he replied, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly as he did so. "But I like to think of them as sisters, because I'm sort of like a father to them. I raised both of them from eggs, so they have a strong bond with me and one another. Flandre is the older of the two by a couple months, and she seems like thinking of herself as a big sister to Tia as a result."

The Charmander crossed her arms and nodded her head authoritatively at the statement, to which Tia breathed a small sigh and shot her an annoyed look, not particularly entertained by her sister's sense of superiority.

Before Katsura could continue the conversation, though, his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of some cheerful singing. It was coming from a Flabebe; the fairy being so tiny that it took a moment before he was able to spot it. “Oh look! A Flabébé! It's soooo... cute!” Chantelle said enthusiastically with a big smile, her reaction being exactly what Katsura would've expected from her.

He shifted his gaze to the Safari Ball in his hand as he contemplated whether he wanted to capture it or not, while Tia and Flandre had edged a little closer to get a better look at their potential friend-to-be. It didn't take long before Katsura had made up his mind though, and voiced his decision to Chantelle.

"This Flabebe... It's cute and all, but I'm afraid it's not quite the kind of Pokemon I'm looking for. I think I'd prefer something a little bigger, personally. I worry enough about losing track of these two as it is."

His mind made up, Katsura started to head off in a different direction. Flandre, having come to grips with how small the Flabebe was compared to her, seemed to be amused by the fact and started to laugh at it, though she was promptly shut up by Tia, who resorted to her usual method of chomping on her; the Gible seizing her around the sides with her jaws. "Come along you two. We don't have all day.", Katsura called back to them, to which Tia came running, carrying a flailing, complaining Flandre with her...

Escalion: With things arranged at home and the thought of new Pokemon on your mind you happily make your way to the gathered crowd. You liked to be prepared and you clutched a paper about the event in your hand as you listen to the trainers explain the event and gave you a show of fireworks. They all had interesting stories to tell and you weren’t sure who to approach but it appeared that Rose your Ralts had made that decision for you. She pointed at the young man named Byron and knowing her intuition was always good you went with her choice. You approach Byron and introduce yourself happy to become friends with the young man. Byron smiles warmly at your introduction.

“Well mon ami I’m glad you chose me, we will be good friends I can tell,” he says happily with a little laugh, “and you have such a cute Pokemon with you too, hello little one,” he waves down to Rose who stands by your side happy with her choice.

“With that Safari Ball you may capture one Pokemon in my zone so let’s go and take a walk and search one out.” He says letting you into his zone. You see thick grass in a long field surrounded by fencing and with a small pond in the corner.

“It may look basic but these grounds hold everything our Pokemon enjoy in an environment,” he explains as you walk through the grass, Rose nearly disappearing in their length.

“You certainly look like you came prepared for anything, is that the kind of person you are, organised and thorough? Do you find that filters through to your training and your choice of Pokemon?” he quizzes you jovially as you walk towards the pond. Soon something catches your eye, it was purple and almost looked like goo, you wondered what it could be. The goo turns around to face you with its dazed expression and Byron gasps.

“That’s a Goomy, it’s quite a rare Pokemon, you were lucky to find one so quickly. They like damp places so its only natural its near the pond” he explains as Goomy begins to wriggle off, it was your choice if you wanted to let it go or not.

Rowan and Rose make their way through Byron's Safari, with Byron himself acting as their guild through the high grasses of the area. Rose is trying to find her own way through the grass, but she ends up using Rowan as a marker for where to go, the grass is simply too long for her, she almost disappears in it. Rowan and Byron meanwhile have a friendly chat and it doesn't take long for Rowan to notice that Byron is the type of person with a lot of people knowledge.

"Thank you for noticing," Rowan laughs friendly, "Yes, I prefer to come prepared for whatever task lays in front of me when I leave my home. I am organized and thorough as a person, and while I don't think I am like that as a trainer, now that you make me think about it I do believe I am like that in my choice of Pokémon. I am more of geologist and business man than a serious Pokémon trainer, and I have to say that the large majority of my Pokémon has a use. Of course they're all my friends and I treat them as such, but the fact remains I have a reason for them being on my team. But there is Rose too, my Ralts you see here. She's my first Pokémon, my starter who I just love without any reasons." Rowan smiles and looks at Rose who's still struggling to make her way through the grass. But as Rowan looks up again, he sees more than just grass. Byron has brought the them to a pond, and close to it he sees a weird looking purple blob of goo.

"Uhm, Byron, can you tell me what that is?" Rowan asks him as he hears him gasp when the gooey blob turns around and faces them. Byron explains the goo is in fact a Pokémon names Goomy and that it is a rare sight. Rowan looks at it though and finds it hard to suppress his disgust. Goomy isn't really something he would want for himself, nor something he can see a use for. But once again, Rose is taking over the plot of this story. The little Ralts managed to keep up with them and sees the gooey blob now too. It's round, squishy and somewhat slimy, but Rose sees a perfect pillow and "teddy bear" in it. So as the Goomy itself start to wriggle off again Rose quickly makes her way over to it and hugs it.

"Well," Rowan says to himself, "this is going to be fun." And with that he follows Rose towards the Goomy, wondering what kind of Pokémon it even is and if it really will be a suitable friend for Rose.

The switch to Durin had proved effective, though as Shadow suspected Binacle wasn't out for the count just yet despite the stark disadvantage he'd shoved in its direction. Durin held his own well and the Binacle down, but the two-headed Rock-type surprised them all with a Shell Smash manoeuvre. This impressed the scientist; most species with access to the move didn't know the attack until much later, and Binacle didn't seem significantly levelled over Lestrange or Durin, suggesting this family learned the attack at much lower level. Maybe that was how the species got around the problems of their weighty attachment to stones; a creative measure, Shadow had to admit, that made it all the more fascinating.

"That Scratch should have triggered Durin's Iron Barbs ability too," noted Shadow as Yvette enthused about Binacle's strategy. "I guess we can't count on Binacle coming into contact with Durin willingly, but if it tries another Water Gun, at least Durin will be able to resist it with his Grass-type characteristics."

Shadow paused for thought again. What else did Binacle know? So far it exhibited Sand-Attack, Water Gun, Shell Smash and Scratch... if it wasn't going to use Scratch, was it going to keep its distance with Water Gun? Or did it have more moves up its neck-sleeves?

"Durin, power through whatever attack it uses with a Bullet Seed. Aim it at the neck between the rock and the heads!" directed Shadow. "Then fire a Leech Seed at the necks and bind them together."

Instead you opt to head over toward the rocks by the pond you can see in the distance. “Hey, nothing to be sorry about. We have more than one pokemon here for a reason,” he says with a smile.

You begin heading toward the rocky outcropping as Remy asks, “So you research non-biological pokemon? That's really interesting. What got you into to that? And why do you specialize in the non-biological pokemon? Does this mean you hope to become a pokemon professor someday?”

You soon get to the rocky outcropping and notice something odd. It seems someone has left a sword lying on top of one of the rocks. “Whoa!” Remy warns by holding his arm out in front of you, “That's a Honedge. Careful. If you get too close it might try to get a hold of you to drain your lifeforce. It looks like it is dormant right now, but it might just be playing possum.”

What will you do?
When Remy said not to worry about apologizing, Alex just gave a little shrug. He just didn’t want to offend his host. Better safe than sorry. But then again, he was sorry. He confused himself a little with this realization.

As the two of them headed deeper into the safari towards the rocky area, Remy posed a few more question about Alex’s line of work. The researcher was happy to oblige. “Being a professor is certainly what I dream to be. I’ve always been interested in explaining the mysteries surrounding Pokémon. You know, stuff like evolution, aura and how pokéballs work. I got interested in non-biological Pokémon specifically because my very first Pokémon was my Magnemite, Theta.” He patted the pocket that held the electric type’s pokéball. “Hey, if you have any ideas for a paper, feel free to share. I hit a rather big lull recently, but I hope to kick it back up again.”

As they reached the rocks, Alex saw a sword lying on the ground. The researcher took a step closer to take a closer look but his guide stuck his hand out in front of him warning Alex that it was a Honedge and that it would steal his lifeforce. Alex gave a curt nod. “Playing dead, eh? So was the Klefki. Are all the Pokémon here gonna play dead? At least they aren’t Voltorb.” Alex squinted at the dormant sword recalling what he knew about the species. Ghost/Steel, haunted sword that stole the energy of whoever it touches with the sash. Very interesting. This was exactly the type of Pokémon he was looking for.

“Let’s go for it,” he said with a smirk. Alex drew the pokéball out of the pocket he patted earlier and released his partner. “Theta, pick it up with your Magnet Pull. Don’t get too close. If it acts hostile, snag it with an Electroweb.” While it would be interesting to see if a Honedge can drain the lifeforce out of the Magnemite, something that technically has no life, he didn’t want to risk it. As far as he could tell, Theta did have some aura which would probably correspond to the lifeforce being stolen. Still, it would be a good test for latter on once he caught it.

blazeVA: Yvette listens intently as you talk about Francesco’s origins and she coos at the thought of him becoming a beautiful dancing Beautifly.

“Its a Binacle, this one is a little aggressive, perhaps we wandered into its territory,” Yvette stated whilst you had to work out how to get it off
OoC: It's the Great Catepillara versus Binaclezoid!...yeah that doesn't flow huh

Blaze watched his Wurmple with intent, wondering how well this plan was going to work, and Francesco lifted his head up towards the tree and shoots out a strand of silk thread that quickly turns into a large web that sticks itself to several leaves on the tree. Blaze wondered whether the web really did have electricity, but he saw sparks coming from it, and that ended that question. 'I have a catepillar who can shoot out electrified webs of silk string. Pokemon sure are pretty weird,' Blaze thought to himself. The Dedenne turned its attention upwards, squeaking excitingly before it climbed the tree with a swiftness Blaze honestly would not have thought possible from the "fat hamster Raichu". The Dedenne plugs it tail into the web as it sighs, the electricity sucked straight out of the web. Blaze was quite pleased this his planned worked at he intended, and it seemed that Yvette thought the same thing as well. "What a great idea, that was so clever," she gushed as she motioned to Blaze that they were going to go search for more Pokemon in the area. Blaze walked away from the Dedenne, and then found himself thinking the thought, 'Oh no, what if the Dedenne gets its tail stuck into the web?' But...rather than go back and check, Blaze assumed that it would be perfectly fine by its own...its managed to get this far anyways.

While they were walking, as Blaze noticed, towards a pond, Blaze decided to reply to Yvette about something she had said earlier. "Is it really that rare that I try to push my Pokemon to be their best? I know a lot of trainers like to battle with their Pokemon but every Pokemon is unique. If you don't take care of your Pokemon in every way, they simply won't grow as individuals, and so they won't be able to meet all of their potential. It's not just that either, it's good to watch your Pokemon grow in other ways as well. It's gives a feeling that you are doing something right after all. They also enjoy it as well, that's the most important part." Blaze smiled as he said this, it kinda summed up the way he was as a trainer. Francesco turned towards him and sighed shortly, but didn't comment any further. Blaze wondered what that was about, but before he could say anything, he was already at the edge of the pond.

Looking at the water, it was beautifully clear and it seemed like the water would also be pretty cool. Blaze figured there was probably Water Pokemon in the pond, but what kind of Pokemon Blaze didn't know. It didn't take long for him to find out, however, as he felt a pain on his leg. "Ouch!" Blaze yelled as he tried to jump, but looking down he saw that there was...a pair of hands clamped onto his legs? He stopped before Yvette starting speaking. "It's a Binacle, this one is a little aggressive, perhaps we wandered into its territory," she said. A little aggressive wouldn't have been what Blaze would have said, but looking down at the Binacle, it was clear that this wasn't going to be easy to get off. 'Let's see...it's a pair of barnacles attached to a stone. How am I going to get it off? If I try to pull it off, it might seriously mess up my hand. I could ask Francesco if he could do something, but I'm not sure what he could do in this situation.' Blaze tried to think of anything that he could do to get him off, when Francesco spoke up. "Blaze, I don't think its going to let go. Let me see if I can knock him off." Blaze nodded his head slightly as he looked at him, and Francesco jumped off of Blaze and landed on the ground, looking with intent at the Binacle. He lowers his head, before charging at the Binacle with his Tackle attack...

Suddenly it dives back into the hole it came out of. You help Wyatt up and he begins to look around as well. “Something scared it off and it wasn't us,” he remarks quietly.

Without warning Invidia jumps into a defensive stance as you can feel the ground below you shake a bit. You probably wouldn't notice it if you weren't standing still and paying attention to your surroundings, but you can definitely feel it and even more importantly it was getting closer. “There!” Wyatt shouts out as he points behind you, “Coming right at us! It's a Tyrunt!” You look to see a small large jawed dinosaur charging toward you.

What will you do?
Profile

When the Bunnelby dived back into its hole, Pest's smile faltered. Rodents and their kin were often easily startled, but that was usually for good reason. Eons of instinct and natural selection had taught them when they should and when they shouldn't worry, ... but then again, the lesson they had eventually learned was that it was better to be safe than sorry. Meaning that whatever had scared it off could have been anything.

“Something scared it off and it wasn't us,” Wyatt remarked.

Pest nodded. "That's for sure. But what?"

Invidia tensed. Sensitive to the slight changes that marked the approach of something unknown, she dropped into a crouch ready for brawling. Orange and black fingers curled into fists as the poison frog prepared to defend her trainer. If she could keep the other awkward human from getting hurt, that was fine, too, but she wasn't going to split her focus more than she had to.

The ground began to shake slightly. It wasn't very hard, so at first Pest thought it was her imagination, but its intensity increased a little as it went on, and she had to acknowledge that this was something real.

"There!" Pest's concentration was broken by Wyatt's shout as the boy pointed to something behind her. “Coming right at us! It's a Tyrunt!"

She blinked. "A Ty-what?" She turned to see what the fuss was about.

Speeding in their direction was an unfamiliar dinosaur Pokemon. It wasn't particularly tall - not much taller than Invidia, come to think of it - but it still looked quite impressive. Its head was perhaps half the size of its body, largely due to its enormous jaw. Deep brown scales gleamed in the sunlight, sharply contrasting with its creamy underbelly. Tiny forelegs and skinny hind legs boasted little white claws, perfect for tearing but still paling in comparison to the obvious biting capacity the Pokemon wielded. There was no doubt that this was a killing machine, even if it happened to be a very small one.

Basically, it was even more adorable than the Bunnelby.

"She's perfect," Pest breathed. "Or he. I can never tell with these guys."

Invidia croaked in vague annoyance. The trainer was then reminded that the little dinosaur was, in fact, getting closer with every second.

"Right. Tyrunt!" she exclaimed, pointing dramatically in the direction of the approaching Pokemon. "We accept your challenge! Perhaps you will find us worthy of your attention! You will always remember that this was the day you battled Tempest Milano! ... And Invidia, of course. We can't forget her. Invidia, use Super Fang once it gets close enough. Then follow that up with a Mud-Slap to the face!"

Invidia rolled her eyes. Her trainer could be so random at times, and rarely deigned to use her head. The Croagunk knew there was every possibility that the Tyrunt wasn't actually going to attack them, even if its ferocious appearance made that seem unlikely. Thus, she would let the dinosaur go first, allowing her to see if it was truly hostile; this way she could gauge its power if it was, and she could be in a prime position for negotiation if not.

It was rather sad that it was the frog who was thinking this through rather than the human, but life was funny that way.

Stacey was pleased that Klefki enjoyed its gift as it flips in the air staring at the keyring happily. That something so simple could bring such joy was heart-warming and as the fairy nuzzled her cheek she knew she had done the right thing. Though she didn't feel right to add Klefki to her team there was no reason she and it couldn't have their moment and she would remember it forever as the first Fairy type she encountered. Klefki floats off and Remy grins at her and his comments makes her blush.

"Thank you, I think making a good impression with anybody human or Pokemon can only be a good thing." she said, "I hope that you're right, most of Pokemon are happy and I hope whoever chooses to join me will be equally as such."

They soon fall into a comfortable walk side by side, Camille bringing up the rear as she kept up her leisurely pace. Remy isn't too surprised that Stacey had her first encounter with a Fairy type considering that they were native to his region of Kalos. They almost came around full circle near to a rocky outcropping near the pond and she wondered if Froakie was still hanging around.

"It would to most people I suppose ... but then again I'm not most people and there isn't a lot of sleeping involved when the residents are insomniacs, sometimes you have to make it up during the day," she chuckles at the memories. Suddenly something metallic sparkled in the corner of their eyes and they both turned to see a sword sticking out of a group of rocks. Remy had obviously come across it before at his outburst and Stacey frowned in response. He explained that another trainer had thought about helping it out when he heard about the dangers the Pokemon possessed to others he thought twice and moved on. Stacey pulled out her Pokedex again as her eyes sparkled at the truly magnificent Pokemon before her.

"Honedge, the Sword Pokemon.
Apparently this Pokémon is born when a departed spirit inhabits a sword. It attaches itself to people and drinks their life force.
If anyone dares to grab its hilt, it wraps a blue cloth around that person's arm and drains that person's life energy completely."

"Incredible," she breathed as she took in the unique Steel and Ghost type. "How could someone leave a Pokemon as amazing as this stuck here?" she asked walking towards the sword, drawn like a moth to the flame. She felt an overwhelming urge to touch the metal, to see how it felt in her hand even if it would drain her life force it would be worth it. Camille gave a soft sigh and started after her trainer before chewing on her boot laces stopping her in her tracks. Stacey broke free from her dazed state and blinked down at her Numel before looking back at the Honedge.

"Yeah, probably a bad idea," she chuckled scratching Camille behind her ear, "but still, this Pokemon is beautiful, we have to help it out!" she exclaimed and Camille rolled her eyes, like she wouldn't go for the ghost after all that talk she gave.

"Hey there, we'll help you get free just stay as still as you can," she asked of the sword Pokemon before turning to Camille.

"Break those rocks holding Honedge with your Rock Smash as carefully as you can," she asks as Camille and the Numel shuffles her way towards the rock hoping that the Honedge doesn't try and suck out her soul.

Byron’s Zone: please reply in brown

Davethefishguy: You got your answer as Goomy fired a Bubble at Rincewind soaking him and causing him some pain in the process. Your Trapnich was no young thing however and was strong enough to take a super effective attack. You take a step back and prepare yourself for battle Rincewind sizing up his opposition. You quickly begin to formulate a plan, Goomy would be able to shake off physical attacks due to its genetic makeup, you’d have to try a more indirect route.

Rincewind slams his foot into the ground sending forth a wave of Bulldoze but due to the softness of the soil around the pond the attack isn’t as powerful as he would like. The attack still hits Goomy and makes it shake in pain and reducing its speed in the process. It was already slower than Rincewind who fires off his second attack, a multi-coloured Signal Beam right into Goomy making it look even more dazed. It shakes off the attacks still with its dopey look and begins to Absorb some health back thought it was a rather weak attack. It then fires another Bubble attack at Rincewind for even more damage. It wasn’t going to go down easily even if Rincewind was stronger.

Escalion: You wrinkle your nose at the odd looking Pokemon you now knew to be a Goomy. It may be rare but it certainly didn’t win any prizes for its looks. You’re hardly tempted to add such a Pokemon to your team but your Ralts has different ideas. She starts after the squidgy creature hoping to give it a big hug or use it as a nice gooey pillow. Sensing your confliction Bryon explains a little more about Goomy.

“It may not look like much right now but Goomy is a Dragon Pokemon, it is the weakest of all dragons, or so I’ve heard, but it becomes quite strong when it evolves. “ Rose catches up to Goomy and wraps her arms around its back in a hug and the Goomy stops in its tracks. You wonder if your Ralts had made a wrong move and soon she lets go of her hold allowing the dragon to turn around and face it’s hugger. It blinks and stares at Rose before smiling slowly ... well that went well if nothing else. It starts off towards the pond and looks over its shoulder to Rose waiting for her to follow.

“Well I think that Goomy likes your Ralts, that’s good, perhaps they can be good friends,” Byron says with a smile.

swampertforever: You can only apologise to Byron at the horrible example your monkeys were setting, not all your Pokemon behaved like this you swore. He smiled at you understanding that some Pokemon liked to play tricks and mess around but suggested a Pokemon a little calmer to add to your team. At those words you stop as you spot brown and cream whizz past your vision. It appeared to be circling you and Red took a defensive stance, prepared to fight whatever might be lurking in the grass. It suddenly leapt out and stood wagging its tail happily, it was a cute little Eevee. It knelt down, its bum in the air as it bounced back and forth, it looked like it wanted to play. You walk over to the little creature and stroke its head and it nuzzles your hand enjoying the petting you gave it. You can’t turn down its offer of play and ask what game it wants to play. It suddenly leaps back barking happily before leaping over to Red and tapping him with its paw and leaping away wanting Red to follow it.

“I think it wants to play tag with your Pokemon, do you think they can play tag without being too rough with it?” Byron asked with a coy smile.

Yvette’s Zone: please reply in purple

Shadowshocker: Switching to your Ferroseed had been a good idea, it was strong against the attacks thrown at it by the Binacle and the duel handed Pokemon was beginning to regret ever taking you on in battle. You were surprised by how resilient the Pokemon was and it made it all the more enticing. Yvette enthuses about your strategy and you note that Durin’s Iron Barbs ability should have triggered when Yvette points to one of Binacle’s hands.

“I think it did, though Binacle is not showing it, there’s a new scratch on the hand that attacked your Ferroseed,” she pointed out and you notice that she was right, you were managing to weaken the Binacle down in more ways than one. You given Durin his orders again preparing to power through any attack Binacle might throw at you.

Binacle shoots out another Water Gun and Durin is ready, letting loose a barrage of Bullet Seed right in the centre of the attack. The attack is again really painful and Binacle is forced back, wincing at every shot it takes to its delicate neck. It glares at Durin, unsure of what attack to use since they were all proving ineffective. Durin doesn’t waste any more time and launches his second Leech Seed right for Binacle’s arms/necks. In a last ditch effort to protect itself Binacle Withdraws its hands into what remains of its rocks boosting its defences causing the Leech Seed to miss by inches. It was still tricky but weakening all the time, it wouldn’t take many more of those super effective attacks to finish it off!

blazeVA: Yvette answers your statement with one of her own.

“If only that were true,” she says with a wistful voice, “I’ve been lucky to meet some very caring trainers today but not all are like yourself. Many use this Pokemon to battle regardless of their feelings in the matter; it’s nice that you allow your Pokemon to express themselves in other ways.” Your trip to the pond wasn’t without a bit of pain, as you examine the crisp cool waters for Pokemon you find one clamped down on your leg. Yvette exclaims that it’s a Binacle, a Water and Rock Pokemon and it looked annoyed that you had wandered into its territory. Through the discomfort you assess the situation, wondering how you were going to get what essentially were a pair of clawed hands attached to a rock off your leg. If you tried to pull it off you might doo more damage to yourself in the process. Francesco interrupts your thoughts, offering to help get it off your leg and you nod, allowing your Wurmple to try.

Francesco backs up getting up some running distance before he charges as hard as he can right into Binacle with a Tackle attack. Francesco bounces off the rock wincing at the pain in his noggin.

“I think that hurt your Wurmple more than Binacle,” Yvette stated with a frown. Binacle releases a hand from your leg to stare down at the Wurmple, sizing it up. Deciding that he would prove to be a nuisance, it lets go of you leg and starts towards Wurmple, preparing to attack it and take it out of the picture. You better act fast or you could lose your Wurmple and have the thing reattached to your leg before you knew it!

Quilavaflare: You’re doing really well for your first battle so don’t worry. You can order up to 3 attacks per reply if you like. You are best to teach TM’s at the Training Centre on Monday and you don’t need to wait for approval to use it here as long as you link to the TM.

You can’t help but to feel discouraged as Espurr stood tall with Astral’s Silk Scarf wrapped around its neck happily feeling the boost it would give its Normal-type attacks. You begin to wonder if that what it planned all along, to use its Scratch attack to inflict more damage to your already injured Pidgey. You began to doubt your abilities and those of your Pokemon in this battle. Sensing your conflict Yvette grabs your hand and squeezes hard.

“Battling is not always easy but you’re both doing well. Don’t give up yet, Espurr is weakening even if it doesn’t look like it. You need to believe in yourself like I do. Espurr wanted you to show it your bravery, I think to keep battling when you’re scared is the best way,” she encourages. You calm yourself down and begin to formulate a plan in your mind and feeling a little more confident, give your orders to Astral.

Astral takes to the air and keeps high enough up to escape Espurr’s reaches and flaps her wings hard to release another Twister that rips into Espurr really mussing up its fur and peppering it with little scratches. It mewls in pain before shaking itself. It looks to see that Astral was too far away to attack and so it concentrates before letting loose a weak Confusion making Astral shiver in pain, but not enough to bring her down. She bites down and lets loose another Twister at Espurr who is knocked over by the force of the attack and is struggling to get back to its feet.

“That’s it, you’re nearly there now Evdee, keep it up, you’ll be able to catch it really soon!” Yvette cheers you on.

It shakes off the attacks still with its dopey look and begins to Absorb some health back thought it was a rather weak attack. It then fires another Bubble attack at Rincewind for even more damage. It wasn’t going to go down easily even if Rincewind was stronger.
Watching as his Pokémon and friend raised one foot into the air, Dave braced himself for the earth-shaking that could result from the technique. Rincewind stomped down, causing a wave of energy to burst along the ground in front of him. The human noted that the attack was a bit weaker than normal, likely a result of the soft ground around the pond, the water rippling from the impact, but the attack did find its mark, causing the already-slow Goomy to become even slower.

The Trapinch's second attack also found its mark, a reminder of his insectoid appearance. The rainbow beam struck Goomy cleanly, dealing some more damage, but the sluggish creature wasn't going down without a fight. A stream of energy suddenly linked the two Pokémon as health was sucked away from Rincewind. Dave's eyes widened at the sight of it. "Absorb? It can use Grass-type attacks too?" he muttered, clearly surprised. Most Dragons weren't great at manipulating Grass energy, this Goomy was full of surprises.

A second spray of Bubbles slammed into Rincewind, dealing further damage to the Ground-type. Dave winced for his partner. Though he was likely a lot stronger than Goomy, these super-effective moves had to be taking their toll. "Hey Rincewind, you alright?" he called. The Trapinch turned, fixing his beady eyes on his owner. His trainer. His friend. His toothy visage contorted in a grin... and his entire body was enveloped in light.

"...No way..." the fisherman exhaled. Before his eyes, within the glowing mass, the larva began to grow. His stubby legs lengthened, growing thinner as defined feet sprouted. His abdomen likewise grew in length, forming a point from which sprouted two small wings. Speaking of wings, two larger paired ones grew from just behind his head, capable of fulfilling his dream of flight. His huge jaws, the calling-card of a Trapinch, reduced themselves in size in place of a head with a pair of antennae sprouting from them. As the process ended, the glow faded, revealing a new and improved Rincewind.

The flicked his new, green wings, letting out a few appreciative clicks as he did so. They were of a higher pitch than before. Shaking off his now sand-coloured body, he eyed his adversary, full of even more confidence than before thanks to an adrenaline surge that could only come with evolution. Automatically, Dave's hand went to his PokéDex, which was quick to register the new form. "Vibrava, the Vibration Pokémon. Ground/Dragon-type. Evolved form of Trapinch. It generates ultrasonic waves by violently flapping its wings. After making its prey faint, it melts the prey with acid. The ultrasonic waves it generates by rubbing its two wings together cause severe headaches."

"You finally managed it, huh?" The fisherman asked, now over his shock. The newly-evolved insect glanced backward with his green eyes, a smirk still visible on his features. "Nice going buddy. You see, Goomy? When I met Rincewind, he was small, and scared, and more likely to run away rather than fight. But look at him now! He's a real Dragon now, just like you. And when I've caught you, I promise that I'll raise you with just as much care, so you can achieve your own advanced form." he spoke, confidence bolstered.

"Rincewind, let's show Goomy what you can do now! Lift off and give it a taste of your Dragon Breath, then startle it with a Sonic Boom!" he ordered. The PokéDex said that Vibrava instinctively learned this moves upon evolution. Hopefully Rincewind would be alright to use them with no prior practice...

{Congratulations! Your Rincewind evolved into Vibrava!}

{Rincewind learned Sonic Boom!}

{Rincewind learned Dragon Breath!}

{Rincewind learned Fly!}

(OOC: Oh, alright, thanks! Battling would be more interesting with more moves available. I guess I thought that I had read somewhere that using 3 moves wears the Pokemon out a little more, so I was refraining from using them. Don't worry about me though, I'm not [quite] as worried as Evdee was. I was just letting the character do the talking. I think?)

As Yvette continues to support him, Evdee feels a little ashamed that he had acted this way both in front of his guide and for Astral. If he wanted to win, he would have to show confidence. After all, how could his battling partner feel confident if she knew her trainer wasn't? It was a learning experience, and it didn't matter if they won or lost. They were just here to do exactly that: learn, and have fun.

Evdee can't help but suddenly smile at the cheering up. A small grin crosses his face, and he takes a more bold approach to the battle at hand as his confidence soars again.

"Yeah, you're right. Thanks!" He replies in turn to Yvette. Evdee contemplates his next course of action for a moment, before relaying his thoughts to the Pidgeon Pokemon awaiting his orders. As if she could sense his own feelings, Astral perks up as well, clearly more willing to fight than before. Her trainer really was depending on her to pull through this, wasn't he?

"Astral, quickly make your next move and land a Tackle while Espurr is down! Use Twister once again, and just to make sure you get 'em good, swoop around back and use a Fly attack, too!"

You continue walking along and notice that you are heading toward a small pond set in the corner of the zone. “I know what you mean about wanting to travel. That's part of the reason I came on this tour. I don't know if I would ever get to see as much of the world as I have doing this,” Wyatt said, “what are some of the places you have been? Anywhere really exotic?”

Suddenly you feel a tight pull of your hair from Taran above you. Turing your head almost as if she was steering you it becomes apparent that she has found something. As you look you notice a small blue crustacean stuck in a hole. Probably left by that Bunneary you passed up just a little bit ago. “That's a Clauncher,” Wyatt explains, “Although what it is doing so far away from the water is mysterious.” The Clauncher seems like it is breathing rather hard and its skin is starting to look awfully dry.

What will you do?

Chad was somewhat relieved to hear Wyatt wasn’t offended by wanting to pass up Bunnelby. The visitors pressed on into Wyatt’s zone. Chad noticed that they were heading towards a small pond in one of the corners of the zone.

Wyatt continued their chat, “I know what you mean about wanting to travel. That's part of the reason I came on this tour. I don't know if I would ever get to see as much of the world as I have doing this,” Wyatt said.

“That’s great,” Chad replied. “I bet you’ve seen some great lands too.”

“What are some of the places you have been? Anywhere really exotic?”

“I’ve been to many different places. I once travelled to a resort atop a lake that was in a dormant volcano. There I made my first capture, my Wooper now a Quagsire. I’ve also been to a desert researching the sudden appearance of Unown. I don’t know if they cast a spell on me and the other trainers, but I don’t remember much about that adventure. I walked in, and that’s about all. I’ve also had an interesting adventure in a creepy graveyard. I helped a woman find inner peace, so she could move on. They were such wonderful adventures. I haven’t had a chance to tell my parents yet. Maybe when they’ve returned from the Almia Region, we can compare notes.”

“What about you?” Chad really enjoyed reminiscing about some of his past adventures. “Do you have any exciting adventures to share?” He was hoping to hear some great stories from Wyatt. “By the way, you never to me what – ” Chad was interrupted by Taran tugging on his hair. He looked up to his Joltik. “What’s the matter Taran?”

Taran indicated to Chad to turn his head. When he did, he found what looked like a blue crab or lobster, and it appeared to be stuck in a hole. “Wyatt, look at that. I wonder if that’s one of the holes Bunnelby left.”

“That's a Clauncher,” Wyatt explained. Chad was intrigued, as any lobster he had seen was red. “Although what it is doing so far away from the water is mysterious.”

“Away from water? Is it a Pokémon like Goldeen that needs to be in water? Can it come on land sometimes like Staryu or Krabby?” Chad took out his Pokedex to see what he could learn about Clauncher:

“Hey Wyatt, does a Clauncher’s skin normally look so dry?” Chad compared the image of the Clauncher in his Pokedex to the Clauncher he just encountered. “I’m starting to get concerned that that Clauncher may be in some kind of trouble. I’m not really interested in it, but I certainly wouldn’t leave it while in distress.” He wondered if maybe it was stuck in the hole. “It probably came from that pond, right? Maybe we could carry it back to the pond.” Meanwhile, Chad noticed Ledyba landing next to him. “Hey, I have an idea. If I can get Ledyba and Taran to use String Shot, perhaps they can create a sling of some kind. Then we could use it to transport Clauncher to the pond.” He looked at Wyatt for a response. Then he looked at Ledyba. “Ledyba, I’d like you to use String Shot to create long strands to make a sling. Hopefully we can use it to bring Clauncher to some water.” He raised his hand to his head, “Taran, can you help and use String Shot too please?”

Chad’s Pokémon got to work on creating the sling. Another idea came to him as well, “I wonder. Do you think Clauncher will let us approach it? I bet it would be scared to have so many strangers approach it too. We need to think about how we’ll help it out of that hole.”

Shadow gritted his teeth as Yvette gripped his hand. Binacle was hurting, they were sure of it, but it was coming up with the most ingenious methods of dealing with its distinct shortcomings, demonstrating great tenacity and resourcefulness. It was something Shadow could respect in any adversary, and he was pleased for making the choice to befriend Binacle... in a manner of speaking. That said, what had the rules said again? Didn't they have to leave after a Pokemon had been befriended or captured? Shadow glanced back at the girl who had kindly accommodated and encouraged him. It seemed a shame that he had rushed through their time together, and the scientist almost considered dragging things out a little more to prolong the excursion. Lestrange merely snickered, pleased that the enemy was getting its comeuppance, while Durin tilted slightly to the side, clinking in his usual unreadable expression.

"Alright, Durin!" called Shadow, returning Yvette's grip on his hand in the heat of the moment. "Rain a Seed Bomb onto Binacle, and aim your sharpest Stone Edge towards its fleshy necks!"
