To my updatees: I will be writing updates either tomorrow or Friday!! I know there has been a bit of a delay, I've had a rough few weeks but I'm slowly getting back into the groove of things. Sorry if this post brought you here, Gary just asked me to reply now since he's writing updates.

Standing firm before Kei, Patches, and Mio, Stufful was ready to give all it had to defend his newfound friends and stand up for himself. Taking advantage of the moment, Patches eagerly hurried over to the bell and gave it a quick ding to signify the start of the match.

The two small bears stared each other down as the match began, neither ready to budge an inch just yet. Pancham glared at Stufful a nasty Leer, sending a shiver down his spine, but the teddy bear retaliated by flashing his Baby-Doll Eyes, catching Pancham off guard. Pancham growled and leapt forward, giving Stufful a Karate Chop to the head for good damage, but Stufful closed his eyes and patiently began to Bide his time and store his energy.

Seeing as Stufful didn’t appear to be fighting back, Pancham smirked arrogantly and unleashed a flurry of Comet Punches on Stufful, hitting him four times in a row. Despite his Fluffy fur protecting him, the hits were starting to add up on Stufful, but he then opened his eyes and released a blast of energy back onto Pancham, sending him flying into the ropes that surrounded the ring. Pancham winced, clearly in pain as Stufful’s attack had reflected a lot of the damage back onto him. Pancham slowly got back to his feet, seething, as he couldn’t believe that the formerly wimpy Stufful could hit him like this. Fired up more than ever, Pancham charged forward, ready to strike with a flurry of Arm Thrusts. What will Stufful do?
“Charrrr!!” Kei the Charmeleon was grinning wide. The match had only just begun but Stufful was already showing that bully that he wasn’t actually weak at all. Mio the Pikachu was excited too but she wasn’t really able to focus because she was busy trying to stop Patches from climbing into the ring herself. “It’ll only be for a second Mio!” Every time Patches’ hands would come near the ring, Mio was quick to give her a bit of a shock as a warning. “It’s just that they’re so cuuuute! They have these little grumpy faces that are adorable and I just want to hug them both!!” Patches was feeling disappointed and continued to complain to Mio who wasn’t backing down. Kei could certainly understand her yearning for wanting to give them hugs since he was quite a hugger himself, but he knew that this was not the time for that and decided to let Mio handle it.

Stufful was completely oblivious to what was going on outside of the ring. He could hear Kei cheering him on which made him happy and that was all he needed. He was proud that his Bide proved to be as successful as it was; he knew now that Pancham was finally going to take him seriously. He could see that Pancham was prepared to go all out so he knew that he couldn’t hold back. After Leering at Pancham, he was going to run in and Tackle it down and then give it a taste of his Brutal Swing!

With no time to think, Jotaro’s chivalrous nature propelled him into action. The plucky Lombre charged forward at the hungry Liepard, cocking back his fist as it began to glow softly. Fangs bared, the Liepard stared down at the mother Noctowl beneath its claws, ready to sink its teeth into its prey. As Jotaro neared, Liepard’s pointed ears twitched, detecting its approaching attacker, and it leapt off of its prey just as Jotaro’s fist glanced the side of it with a Drain Punch.

Back arched, fangs glistening, and eyes shining in the darkness of the forest, Liepard arched its back and hissed angrily at Jotaro. The Lombre might have saved Noctowl’s life for now, but now he had gained the sole attention of a hungry predator that just had its meal taken away from it. Liepard’s hiss turned into a menacing Growl to show Jotaro that it means business.

As the battle between these two Pokemon began to unfold, Hiero darted over to the baby Hoothoot’s side, securing the chick in his arms. He glanced over at the mother Noctowl, who was struggling to help herself off her back. It appeared as if her wing was lightly sprained in the strike, and was going to have trouble moving around enough to assist in this battle. Sizing Jotaro up, the Liepard hissed once more. This time, the tone of the hiss came in a much more condescending manner, almost as if it was Tormenting Jotaro into doubting certain battle strategies that he might take in the future. Up to this point, Jotaro had been operating on instinct, but this seed of doubt might require some of Hiero’s assistance pertaining to what he should do next.
Jotaro struggled to respond to the cat Pokemon's Torment, turning toward its trainer for direction on how to proceed. Hiero curled up into a ball and cupped the small owl Pokemon into his chest protectively. "Don't worry little guy - we'll reunite you with your parent and sibling soon enough, I promise." Hiero gently stroked the Hoothoot's head to keep it calm, letting it know he was in safe hands - literally.

"Noctowl! Don't move, or you'll make it worse! Let Jotaro handle this!" Hiero turned toward the Lombre and directed the Pokemon. "Jotaro! Hit it with a Seed Bomb before following up with another Drain Punch from above! Pound that Liepard into the ground - Noctowl and its children are counting on you. I am too, for that matter!"

Jotaro nodded and took a calmer demeanor once more, smirking at his trainer confidently. In an instant, all signs of nervousness were wiped off of the Lombre's face. Hiero knew that the Pokemon sometimes felt like he was a superhero of sorts, and he was more than happy to give the Lombre his time to shine in the spotlight, especially as the underdog (which Hiero imagined probably made the Lombre even more excited to fight the leopard Pokemon).

The Liepard arched its back, bared its fangs in a growl, and spread its paws in an offensive stance. Jotaro was somewhat weak, but Hiero was absolutely certain his lily-pad Pokemon would be able to stop the predator from getting to its would-be dinner.

Hoping to leave the decision to his Pokemon, Jayson waited until Ajax the Chespin turned his sights towards the cave in anticipation. However, Jayson’s team was not the best equipped to handle the pitch-black cave and would require some extra training to illuminate the way. Upon hearing this, Madoka smiled and clapped her hands together. “Wonderful, come here then young Chespin and I will teach you!” She smiled warmly at Ajax and beckoned him closer before pulling out a Pokeball and tossing it into the air.

There was a bright flash and before them appeared a large rock that floated above the ground. Eight rocks spiked out of it in every direction, giving it the appearance of the sun. “Your instructor today will be none other than Taiyo,” Madoka spoke as the Solrock quietly stared down from above. “Let us begin, shall we? Learning Flash allows you to light up even the darkest of places with a light like the sun. In order to do so, you’ll need to focus on the sun’s energy and replicate it inside of yourself.” As Ajax began to look up to the sky, Madoka called out, “Wait! Don’t focus on the actual sun though! You’ll blind yourself. Focus on Taiyo here instead.” Taiyo slowly began to glow a soft white as a warmth emanated from its rocky body. It was quite relaxing as the normally energetic Ajax soon fell almost into a relaxed, trancelike state.

“Good, remember this feeling,” Madoka said in a soft voice. “The power behind this light is very much tied to one’s own mental state. It requires a relaxed and courageous spirit that is willing to peer into the darkness of one’s own self and light it up. As your confidence grows, so too will your light.” With his eyes closed, there was a brief glimmer to the quills atop of Ajax’s head. “Wonderful,” Madoka said with a smile, “It’s now time to harness this energy and put it to the test.”

Madoka brought Ajax, Jayson, and the rest of his Pokemon up to the steps shrine’s entrance. On either side of them was a large stone slab where Madoka’s two Lycanroc rest, the midday one keeping a watchful eye open on the visitors as they ascended. “The only warning I have is that it might be easier for Ajax to concentrate if there are less of his companions around to distract him.” The old wooden stairs creaked as they made it to the top. Using an old metal key, Madoka turned the lock and opened the door to the shrine. The smell of incense filled their noses as they stepped inside the shrine. The interior was somewhat plain but there were a number of traditional objects assembled on the central altar used to worship the shrine’s deity. In the middle of the altar was a large stone that had been carved out into some kind of sculpture, but it was hard to make out what it was with a curtain made out of bamboo leaves obscuring it.

“Come this way,” Madoka said as she quickly bowed to the altar before taking the visitors around it to a door in the back. Once they were back outside, they headed across a wooden patio that lead to another staircase. A large hole in the mountain opened up before them like a mouth, as the staircase seemed to descend straight down into the dark cavern. “I cannot go with you from here, but in case you get lost, Tsuki will be your guide.” Madoka pulled out another Pokeball, this time sending out a crescent shaped rock that floated before them. “Tsuki will not interfere with your journey, but it will show you the way out if Ajax has trouble completing his training.”

With Madoka staying behind, Jayson and his Pokemon descended the staircase into the dark cavern. Ajax hadn’t fully mastered the move yet, but there was no time like the present to get started. As the Lunatone mostly hung around the cave’s entrance, all Jayson could see was a solitary red eye. It was now up to him to decide where to go next. Visibility was nonexistent at the moment, but maybe with the faint glow from Ajax they’ll be able to see a couple of feet in front of them at least. It was an odd feeling being surrounded by darkness like this; the sensory deprivation seemed to heighten Jayson’s other senses. While the cave was cold and silent at first, as his senses started to kick in, her could hear a number of noises in the distance. Water dripped from a stalactite into a pool of water while the scratching and fluttering of Zubats quietly echoed from high above. Not too far off there was a muffled whimpering sound that seemed to catch Jayson’s attention. What would he do?

Set off by the boy’s behavior, Mint stormed down the hill and demanded that Marcus fight her with the rights to Kimmy’s Sentret on the line. Marcus smirked as Mint threatened him, “What, you want me to offer up a Pokemon but you offer nothing in return? On top of that you want me to use a Pokemon that was just in battle against your fresh one. That doesn’t sound like a good deal to me. What’s to stop me from telling my parents that an older Pokemon trainer was beating up on kids?” He quickly tossed a Pokeball and then crossed his arms. The ball popped open to reveal a Sneasel, who crossed its arms as well. “Tell you what, I’ll battle you, but your opponent will be Sneasel here.”

Without a moment to spare, Mint called forth Celeste to battle, as the Chatot looked ready to go. Celeste flew off of her perch from her trainer’s arm and into the air. Sneasel moved into action too, darting forward to Attack the Chatot Quickly but halted midway as it heard Marcus’ voice call out “Stop!” It looked around back at its trainer confused by the Chatter, but Marcus gritted his teeth. “What are you doing? Get back out there and fight!” Sneasel resumed its advance on Celeste, who squawked out a loud “TOT!!!” as the Hyper Voice rung in Sneasel’s ears for considerable damage. Despite the pain in its head, Sneasel lunged at Celeste and with one move quickly Chopped her right in the Throat. Celeste gasped in pain, and as she attempted to use her vocal chords began to cough hoarsely.

While Celeste had gotten off to a good start, having dealt solid damage to the Sneasel, her ability to speak was now impaired for the time being. Despite its ears ringing, Sneasel looked like it wasn’t ready to give up just yet as Marcus looked to continue fighting. What will Mint do?

Naruxami:
Leo laughed as Isaac joked about buying him a drink. Deciding to play along, the ranger walked up to the cupboard and poured a small glass of whiskey. “Here, this might actually take the edge off for a minute, if you desire.” With Isaac now ready to be treated, Leo started by gently dabbing the wound with a damp cloth to clean away the dirt. “Alright, think of something pleasant on the count of three. One… two… three!” Leo then sprayed some disinfectant on the wound which would surely sting. Once he was finished, Leo wrapped some gauze around Isaac’s torso, covering the length of the gash. “Alright, we’re all done here. Once again, sorry about Smokey. Just be careful next time, okay?”

As Isaac looked at Leo puzzled, expecting to be handed some kind of citation, the ranger was holding out a plastic bag instead. “Use this to store your trash next time. One Burnt Forest is enough for the Cloud Garden,” he said with a smile, a joke that probably went over with the other rangers better. As Leo put away the first aid kit, the healing machine let out a beep, indicating that it was finished. “Perfect timing. Also, if you’re hungry help yourself! The kitchenette is stocked for any travelers that pass through and need a bite to eat. There’s Pokemon food in there too.” Now that he was patched up and free to go, it was up to Isaac to decide what to do next. Before heading out with his Pokemon, he could grab a quick meal for himself and his team. Where Isaac goes from here is up to him. (Please reply in whatever area color you choose.)

Patches:
Despite Patches’ eager attempt to climb into the ring and Mio’s efforts to prevent that from happening, Stufful remained focused on the fight at hand as Pancham was giving him a run for his money. As Pancham picked itself up from being knocked against the ropes, it charged forward, ready to attack. With little time to think, Stufful had to react quickly and fight back!

Pancham came in fast, unleashing a series of Arm Thrusts on the Stufful. He let out a pained whimper as Pancham’s palms pushed him back four times for super effective damage. The only saving grace was his Fluffy plush fur absorbing some of the contact. Stufful Leered angrily, the defiant act causing Pancham to drop its guard a bit before ramming into it with a Tackle. Pancham grit its teeth and Tackled Stufful right back before Pancham began Working itself Up into a frenzy. Stufful charged at Pancham while flailing his arms wildly, hitting him with a Brutal Swing.

As the two Pokemon paused to catch their breaths, both were aware that a victor would be decided soon. Both were nearing the ends of their rope, and prepared to launch one last desperate attack to overcome the other. Through heavy panted breaths, Pancham glared across the ring at Stufful. There was almost a gleam of excitement in its eyes as it slowly began to see its opponent as less of a victim to bully and more of a rival. Pancham then squared off against Stufful once again, ready to hit the bear with its strongest Karate Chop. What will Stufful do?

Deoxys:
With the Liepard’s back arched, legs coiled like a spring, and ready to pounce, Jotaro looked back to his trainer for advice. The big cat’s previous Torment left him unsure of himself, so some guidance and reassurance from his trainer would go a long way. Hiero, who had just finished comforting the young Hoothoot, turned to his Lombre and issued a strategy. With a newfound direction and resolve in battle, Jotaro stared down the Liepard once again and made his move.

Jotaro was fast, but the Liepard was faster as it hissed a menacing Growl in Jotaro’s direction. The Lombre’s spirit wavered only slightly as he opened his mouth and spat forward a number of small seeds at the Liepard. Upon impact, the Seeds exploded like a miniature Bomb, disorienting the cat and leaving it open as Jotaro seized the opportunity to leap into the air above the Liepard. Jotaro Punched downward at the Liepard with all his might and dug his fist into its back, proceeding to Drain its energy in the process. Liepard hissed angrily through the pain and turned to unleash a flurry of Fury Swipes on Jotaro. The Liepard’s claws connected three times for moderate damage as Jotaro winced.

Things were going to plan so far for Jotaro and Hiero, and if they played their cards right, that cat could be chased out of there before they knew it. The Liepard took some solid hits this time around and began to breathe heavier as it planned to Pursue Jotaro and his next move. The entire time this was happening, the mother Noctowl did not take her eyes off of the predator, silently cheering on the Pokemon defending her and her chick.

Mint snorted derisively as Marcus tried to act tough, asking what would stop him from telling his parents that she was the "real bully" in the situation.

"What's stopping you from doing that? Kimmy's something we in the business call a witness, you know. Both our words against yours." she said with a confident smile.

That, however, was seemingly a step too far on Mint's part. Marcus angrily brought out another Poke Ball, and from it, he released a black and pink Pokémon Mint knew all too well: a Sneasel, the omnipresent pest of northern Sinnoh, but still a pretty cool Pokémon in Mint's books. Declaring that Mint's opponent would be the Sneasel instead, and making some jive about her forcing him to battle with a tired Pokémon, Mint grew more exasperated rather than intimidated. The type disadvantage didn't change anything much about their plan, really.

"Well excuuuuuuuse me, princess, it's not like I knew you had any other Pokémon to battle with. Why else would you be going for Kimmy's, anyway?" she said, her voice laden with unadulterated snark. "But enough talk. Have at you!" she added before he could reply.

And thus they got underway! Mint's strategy of confusing the Sneasel with Chatter seemed to be working without a hitch-right up until the Sneasel made a downright impressive leap and hit Celeste with a direct Throat Chop once it got back in action. At the sound of this, Sprocket reemerged from Mint's backpack.

"Be careful! Celeste's sound movezzzz won't work for a while!" he piped up, causing Mint to grimace. Sound moves were...just about all of Celeste's repertoire. And then she remembered-not all of said repertoire. A gleam came to the eyes of both Pokémon and Trainer. This was no setback at all, not for them, not in this situation! They still had one last trump card up their sleeves!

"So, thought you could win just by cutting my dear Celeste's voice off? Not the worst assumption, that does block off a great many of her moves...just not the right ones." Mint said, a confident grin on her face. "Celeste, keep that thing at bay with Heat Wave, and make it a pair of them! Don't let it get close!" she called. This was her moment, right here!

Despite Celese’s natural abilities as the vocal Pokemon that Chatot is being suppressed by the Sneasel’s Throat Chop, Mint was cool under pressure while ordering her Pokemon to turn up the heat against the ice type. However, in spite of her trash talking, Marcus was hardly fazed and remained focused on the battle at hand. As he overheard Mint’s strategy, he smiled and called out to his Sneasel, “You know what to do, Sneas. Don’t let it hit you!”

Celeste coughed again, trying to clear her throat as her wings flapped before Sneasel. The weasel glared back at the parrot and displayed its claws. As Celeste began to flap her wings harder, the friction began to heat up the air as she summoned a Heat Wave. However, as her wings kicked up a gust and pushed the air current forward, Celeste was shocked to find that the Sneasel had suddenly disappeared. Before she could realize that it had slipped past her defenses, it was already too late as Sneasel rammed into the Chatot from behind with a sneaky Feint Attack.

Marcus smirked and called out, “Now so tough now, are you? Let’s counter their hot air with some cold!” The Sneasel quickly nodded and began blowing a harsh Icy Wind that chilled Celeste to the bone. It was a direct hit, and the bird winced as she spun around. She was trying to keep up with the Sneasel to target her next attack, but it was just too fast for her at this point. When it looked as if Celeste wasn’t going to be able to keep up any further, a surge of energy suddenly flowed into her body. A whistle-like tweeting could be heard as it was none other than the small yellow bird on the sidelines dancing away and shaking its pompoms as it offered Celeste a Helping Hand. Now filled with a newfound confidence, Celeste began flapping her wings once again. This time, she summoned a Heat Wave so powerful that no amount of running around could dodge its effect.

Sneasel was clearly bothered as the temperature continued to rise. “Hey, that’s cheating!” Marcus called out through gritted teeth. “If that’s how they’re going to play it, then two can play at that game!” Marcus tossed two Pokeballs, releasing Ratty the Raticate and Kimmy’s old Sentret. Sneasel looked at its companions and beckoned them over as it smacked Celeste. Ratty joined in next, helping Beat the Chatot Up, followed by the reluctant Sentret. With tears in its eyes, Sentret was too timid to disobey its new trainer and lunged forward to hit Celeste as well. Celeste had taken quite a few hits this turn, but Sneasel wasn’t doing so hot either. What will Mint do?

While the cave was cold and silent at first, as his senses started to kick in, her could hear a number of noises in the distance. Water dripped from a stalactite into a pool of water while the scratching and fluttering of Zubats quietly echoed from high above. Not too far off there was a muffled whimpering sound that seemed to catch Jayson’s attention. What would he do?

Madoka quickly instructed Ajax on the basics of using Flash. Using her Solrock to demonstrate, Madoka enlightened the young Chespin on what would be required for him to master the move. He had to let his inner light shine, he would need to be confident and courageous. Luckily these two traits were something the Chespin wasn't lacking, Jayson was sure with a bit of practice the Grass type would have the move mastered. He showed promise early, his quills glowing briefly as he attempted the move for the first time. It was a start.

With the basic instruction given, Madoka lead them towards the entrance to the shrine. At her suggestion, Jayson decided it was probably best for him to recall a few of his Pokemon. Alexander and Tangaroa wouldn't be needed too much from here and they would likely only serve as a distraction for Ajax, Alexander especially. Jayson recalled the Nidoking and Vaporeon into their Pokeballs, replacing them on his belt. Tomoe remained clinging to his back, the Wimpod would be fine there. Madoka provided them with a guide as well, revealing a Lunatone who would observe their progress through the shrine, only providing assistance if Ajax had trouble navigating.

Ajax led them through the entrance, it didn't take long for them to be in complete darkness. Jayson could barely see his hands in front of his face, Ajax would need to light things up. With his sight impaired, Jayson had to rely on his other senses. His nose was flooded with the smell of incense, while his ears picked up different noises. The dripping of water, the rustling of Zubat and most intriguingly, the whimpering of something nearby. Jayson felt movement on his back as Tomoe scuttled down his leg and onto the cave floor. He could hear her scuttle off in the direction of the whimpering, perhaps drawn to it due to her wimpy nature. Jayson didn't want the Wimpod getting into any unnecessary trouble, Ajax had to light things up quickly so they could find out what was going on.

"Alright Ajax, it is your time to shine", Jayson smiled, he could now see the Chespin as his quills began to glow like they had outside. "That's a good start but we are going to need more than that. You need to reach deep into yourself, think of what makes you happy, what gives you purpose. Think of your friendship with Alexander, think of our base and all the hard work you have put into. Think of how strong you have gotten since we first met, all the challenges we have been through and conquered. Let out your inner light Ajax, shine bright like a diamond, light the way for us. Use Flash Ajax and let's make our way towards the whimpering and Tomoe."

Brayden has finally set off on his own with Solemn the Squirtle by his side. Cutting off his family wealth in order to learn how commoners live has been very different for him. He never knew how to live the life of a commoner. Having everything handed to him made things easy, but Brayden is tired of living the life of wealth and fortune. It’s time for things to change. The breeze hit his face and sifted through his dark brown hair. He took in every breath that he could, and cherished it. Something was freeing about not being pestered by a butler every 5 minutes asking if he wanted sparkling water. Or being driven to every single destination he wanted to go to.

He found himself standing on a hill, looking down at the river where the suns beams danced along the water. He watched as the fishermen casted out their fishing lines, reeling in what seemed to be large catfish and rainbow trout’s. To the right of the docks were a mother and father sitting on the edge of the river, enjoying sandwiches while splashing their feet in the water. It made Brayden miss his mother and father back home. Their children run and play behind them giggling and shouting “Tag! You’re it!”. Brayden felt at peace as he sat next to a rock to take in the view. Its been a while since he’s seen something this breathtaking. He watched as the water flowed down the stream, just waiting for something to grab his attention.

Missingno. Master – It didn’t take long for a somewhat heartwarming moment to be forgotten and replaced with chaos, as usual. Fortunately, you were able to remain levelheaded in this situation because Ringo certainly wasn’t. It was also convenient that this was a situation in which you needed your Pokemon to act fast, and right now your very slow Pokemon was faster than ever. Dudley instantly forgot all about the Aipom and turned his attention toward the fire and began to take care of the flames with his Water Gun. He first aimed his water at the flames that were fast approaching the sleeping Kricketune. No surprise, he manages to stop the flames from reaching the sleeping Pokemon but his water also drenches the Kricketune, waking him up from his slumber. As Dudley turns his focus on other areas covered in fire, the Kricketune leaps up and looks around, completely startled. The Nanab Berries are both gone, it sees fire, and it just had water poured all over it. It was not a fun way to wake up and on top of everything, it’s feeling a bit sluggish. Angry, the Kricketune begins to Furiously Cut away at the air, flailing randomly. It hasn’t hit anything yet but it’s certainly a hazard.

Miror was feeling confident, his speed had increased and this time he knew he was going to be able to take the lead on that troublesome monkey. He runs up and uses a strong Drain Punch on Aipom, right in its face! Aipom recoils, annoyed at his lack of agility in this situation. It’s clear that you and your Pokemon are starting to get to it. It manages to Scratch Miror while he was still close. Then, next thing it knows, Aipom is being pelted by Seed Bombs. It uses its tail to try and shield itself from the attack but it is still causing a decent amount of damage. You can tell that Aipom is starting to get a little nervous now as it seems to be changing its focus away from the battle. (Miror gains 2 levels)

Meanwhile, Dudley is doing his best to put out the fire, but it is a lot of work for one Pokemon. “Right! Sand! You’re like, some kind of genius or something!” Ringo responds to your advice and then turns toward Lady the Herdier. “Lady, put out those flames with your Sand Attack!” Lady hears Ringo and then turns her head slightly sideways in confusion. Ringo wasn’t very experienced with using the family’s Pokemon so she wasn’t well informed on what exactly it was that the Herdier was capable of. Lady at least knew that Ringo was trying to get her to help so she wasn’t about to do nothing and figured she could maybe give Dudley a Helping Hand. On her way over to Dudley, Aipom got in the way. At some point, despite its lowered speed, it had gotten a hold of a stick with a flaming tip. Lady’s attention was drawn to the stick, completely forgetting about her plans to assist. Miror leaps into the air, preparing to Bounce down on his target. Aipom’s attention is still away from the fight, Lady went into a play bow and the Aipom threw the stick in such a way that Lady was able to catch it right out of the air. Aipom, reached out and grabbed onto Lady’s tail and next thing you know the Aipom is being taken away by Lady who is running away with a flaming stick. She was slowed down too but was still much faster than Aipom.

Miror comes crashing down to finish his move but completely misses his target since it was in the process of being carried away. “Why Lady!?! Why do you always do this!?! That stick is on FIRE, you’re going to spread it!!!” Ringo dashes off after the Herdier. Fortunately, the stick hadn’t caught anything else on fire but it was still quite a hazard. Dudley was finishing up with putting out the last of the flames from the tree, he was so fast that fortunately he ultimately managed to get it all under control without anyone’s help. However, the tree was pretty damaged and as soon as the flames were out, the Kricketune had managed to make its way over to it with its Fury Cutter and all it took was one hit to take out the whole tree and it tumbled down right in front of you, dividing you and Miror from Dudley. The Kricketune was exhausted and sat down by the tree. You could still hear Ringo yelling and the Pokemon getting away in the not too far off distance.

myahoo – The next round was beginning and Samuel and his Pokemon were fired up and ready to go. Your Pokemon seemed to be pretty into this as well. On Samuel’s side of the log, Odachi the Lurantis begins to use Growth in order to power herself up. As Reaper the Scyther goes to use X-Scissor on the log, Cirrus attacks with Air Cutter which wasn’t blocked at all, causing Reaper to get pushed back a bit, which makes it so that his attack only partially lands on the log. The team isn’t about to give up, Reaper prepares for his next move and goes to Slash the log, only this time Odachi is ready to properly defend. However, Odachi’s defense doesn’t work out too well. Cirrus releases a Heat Wave in Reaper’s direction and Odachi uses her Razor Leaf to try and stop it but the move easily burns the leaves and goes right through them. The attack hits Reaper, his Slash also only landing partially because the flames cause him to recoil away.

Meanwhile, Ore was doing his best to cut away at your side of the log. As he begins to use his Fury Swipes, Gladius the Kabutops releases an Aurora Beam in his direction. Signal is completely prepared this time and readies his Sucker Punch, sending that beam right back to its source, causing Gladius some pain. Ore has no problem getting 4 complete swipes in on the log, fortunately his confusion didn’t stop him from his attack. For his next attack, Ore readies his Shadow Claw and goes to swing for the log. This time, Gladius uses his Icy Wind and since Signal was busy using Heal Bell to fix Ore’s confusion, the wind managed to reach Ore, completely knocking him over before he managed to make any contact with the log.

Despite the lack of the second move making any contact, Ore’s Fury Swipes had still managed to not only get rid of Samuel’s slight lead, it had also managed to give you back the lead you once had since Reaper didn’t manage well on his end this time around. The log is almost finished being cut through, this is still anyone’s match but it seems the next round could potentially be the end. Samuel wastes no time and prepares his Pokemon for what is to come next. “Go all out team! Reaper, continue to cut that log and use Night Slash and Air Slash! Odachi switch to offense and attack their cutter with your Signal Beam and then give it a Dual Chop! Gladius, we’re going to need you to defend Reaper this time around make sure you Take Down anything that tries to get in Reapers way! And also use your Aqua Tail if need be!”

Meetan – It was pretty nice being so close to an Ursaring but you didn’t have time to enjoy it because this was a time when you needed to be serious. Billie gave Greg a look after you had told him to devour his vocal cords, it was almost as if he was contemplating actually doing it. “W-what are you giving me that look for?!” Greg noticed the look and didn’t like it one bit. Ultimately, Billie just went back to remaining alert to his surroundings.

Nina was not ok with being Wrapped up by a Seviper so she used her Extrasensory in an attempt to get the Seviper off of her. The Seviper wasn’t expecting such a strange uncomfortable power to flow through it and managed to loosen his grip for a split second, which was when Nina made her escape. “Come on Seviper, Wrap that Pokemon back up! Then stab it with your Poison Tail!” One of the men yells, clearly the owner of the Seviper. Nina charges in to Zen Headbutt the Seviper but upon contact, although it did hurt the Seviper, the snake still managed to Wrap her up all over again. With her head still sticking out, she releases her Swift in the direction of the truck. The stars managed to find their way around the truck and to the lock, denting it up a bit but not enough to open it up. As soon as the Swift was finished, the Seviper stabbed at Nina with its Poisonous Tail causing her to yelp and the poison began to seep into her making her feel a bit ill. Frustrated, Nina struggled but the Seviper was not going to let go this time but she did manage to make the both of them tumble down into the crater that the Electrode had created earlier. (Nina gains 1 level)

Meanwhile, inside the truck, Axel can’t see a thing. Nomally, he’d be using his psychic abilities to observe his surroundings in such a dark place but for some reason it’s not really working out for him. It’s very quiet inside the truck, Axel knows there are several Pokemon in there but none of them are making a sound. Franklin had become pretty quiet shortly after Axel had found his way inside. However, your shouts came through to Axel loud and clear. He took a moment to think about it, it was so dark that he couldn’t actually see which direction was the back of the truck. Eventually, he comes to the conclusion that he will need to guess and uses his Blow Back in the direction he hopes the door is. At this point, the second man, the one who doesn’t own the Seviper, jumps into the driver’s seat of the truck in an attempt to get away and leave his partner behind. It’s at that moment that Axel unleashes his move, the Blow Back was aimed toward the front of the truck instead of the back, Axel is thrown backwards by the force since he is in an enclosed space causing his body to smash into the doors which busts the lock even further. He also manages to put a dent in the trailer behind the drivers seat with his attack, which shoves the man who had just jumped in there into the steering wheel, causing him to struggle with getting the truck moving. (Axel gains 2 levels)

Although the truck still wasn’t open, the door was now cracked enough to allow some light in. Axel could see that all of the Pokemon were in individual cages and they weren’t looking so good. It was almost as if the cages were sapping their energy. Franklin, who had gone quiet to conserve energy was feeling a bit pumped up again after seeing that they were almost free. Knowing that one more hit would get them out of there, Franklin convinces Axel to free him before opening those doors so that they could go together, so Axel uses his Iron Tail on the lock holding Franklin’s cage shut and it easily comes open. Franklin is free now but exhausted, whatever type of cage that was, it had been sapping all of the energy out of him. With the doors partially open, whatever was preventing Axel’s abilities from working no longer had effect and so he let you in on the situation. The doors only needed one simple hit before they would burst open and Joe’s Mudbray Tank, Duchess, as well as another Pokemon covered in tar were still in cages.

On the far side of the crater Ivan was still helping Joe, he was trying to assist him in standing up but each time he would stand, even while trying to lean on Ivan, he would fall again. It’s clear that Joe must have been very badly injured. Billie is practically breathing down your neck, even though you had put some space between you two he wasn’t about to keep the space there. The helicopter still can’t be seen but with each passing second it is only getting louder and louder.

At this point, Patches had given up on entering the ring since it had become very clear that Mio wasn’t going to allow it. She sat quietly on the grass next to the ring instead, most likely creating grass stains on her skirt and leggings but she wouldn’t care or notice anyway. It’s not every day that there was a trainer who was more controlled by their Pokemon than the other way around but with how Patches could get, it was necessary. Mio returned to watching the fight, while keeping a close eye on Patches out of her peripheral vision. “Pika pika!” She decided to throw in some of her own cheers along with Kei so that Stufful would know that he had their full support. Kei continued to be proud as he watched his friend, they may both be very worn out but he knew in his heart that Stufful was going to pull through.

Out of breath and a bit exhausted, Stufful began to think up the next step to his strategy. He didn’t have time for breaks, Pancham wasn’t about to give him one and he wasn’t about to give Pancham one either. He wasn’t sure how many more hits he could take, and thought better of using his Bide again, so he would be forced to continue with a similar strategy to the last round, but that was fine since it seemed to work well. Since he knew that any hits that Pancham would land could potentially be the end of him, he knew he needed to use his Baby-Doll Eyes again to soften the blow a bit further. Then he would give Pancham the strongest Brutal Swing he can manage! And if that doesn’t take him down, he’ll just hit him with another Brutal Swing!

"Hang in there, Nina, we've got this!" Attacking Seviper from close range was clearly not the best idea, but her Vulpix's strongest moves against the opponent were mostly physical. Not to mention the snake was pretty damn quick - although Nina could be, too. Their struggle culminated in the two rolling into the crater, the snake still holding its prey tight, and Alice temporarily escaped Billie's hovering to get a better view - although the mind's eye was momentarily hazed by a rush of information. It took a few moments to process it, and Alice felt nauseous, but then she got a grip. Axel was doing his job right as always.

"Billie, I need you to slash the tires of that truck or otherwise damage it. Rip the wheels off, I literally don't care, just make sure not to let that guy escape!" Alice ordered of the bear, "If the truck gets away we lose Tank, Dutchess and everyone else in there!" The trainer explained, hoping that by laying out the urgency of the situation the Ursaring might comply. "Nina! Disable that wrap attack and use hypnosis, then use extrasensory to get loose again!" Hopefully even if the Seviper didn't sleep it would end up flinching all the same.

Now, her commands to Axel. She shouted them out, but hoped that the Pokemon's link was still with her even if he couldn't actually hear her. Demanding a simple 'knock off' to get the doors open, Alice asked her Abra to use moves to bust open the locks on Tank and Dutchess' cages, too. "Get Franklin to break open the other ones if he can! But make sure he doesn't over exert himself!" She added, having gotten a sense for the poor Wartortle's condition. "If he can just wash off the gunk covering the other Pokemon even that would be an improvement!" It couldn't feel good, that was for sure. As for Ivan and Joe, Alice was aware, but she'd have to leave them be for now. When the more immediate problems were dealt with, one of Alice's other Pokemon could help them out.

[Axel raises from lvl 13 to lvl 15, Nina grows to lvl 12]

You were not out of place at all with your towering Golurk and other strong Pokemon. All around the river were trainers with their Pokemon, some looking to battle and others just appreciating the great outdoors of the Cloud Garden. The river gets wider as you walk further down the path. The water has gotten deep enough for fishing, and there are several small boats and canoes positioned on the water. Some of the people fishing give you a dirty look. The shadows you and your Pokemon are casting are scaring the fish. You take the hint and hurry along.

You’ve spent a good amount of your day walking and your Pokemon seem ready to take a break. A sign points you to an area labelled ‘Campgrounds’, and Golestandt is happy to put the gear down and start setting things up. Caladbolg helps out, if only to go through the food and pick out his favorites first. The river is obscured by tents and trees but you can still hear the gentle rush of water. It is certainly peaceful, and would be calming, if it wasn’t for the group of people sitting at a campsite not too far from yours. The group of teens is eyeing you and whispering. You also see them pointing and occasionally laughing. Your Pokemon see a bit wary of them, but wait for your call.
After the relatively hectic atmosphere of his previous visit, the peace and quiet of the river was a welcome change for Alex as his group wandered along the banks, trainers dotted here and there in battles or just enjoying the crisp chilly air, while the trainer looked back at his team. Between the fiendish looking Zangoose, the big terrifying dragon hopping around daftly and the even bigger Golurk serving as pack mule and impromptu sunshade, he felt perhaps a bit out of place among the younger trainers with their Sentret and Starly and whatnot.

The river widened as their wandering continued, and as it deepened he had the feeling that perhaps taking something over thirteen feet tall was not the wisest idea, judging by the scowls fishermen were giving him, the shadows over the water definitely intimidating. "Let's head a bit more inland then, guys." A couple of hours passed, and as his legs started to protest, he felt that taking a break would be ideal. Before could search for a spot to rest, Totsuka poked him roughly, making him recoil. The last time the Zangoose laid a finger on him ended tragically, and he was always a bit more wary around her, but the pokemon merely pointed to a sign. "Ah, right. We'll find a spot there and settle down for a break."

The campsite was big enough for them, and on finding a suitable spot the Golurk eased the large satchel down, as Cal quickly dived into it and started hauling out a basket with his claws, the dragon's agenda quite clear as a stomach grumbled. Alex gave a small chuckle as he pulled a checkered cloth out and began to unravel it while Golestandt slowly lowered himself to a sitting position. He didn't eat, and didn't need to, but was appreciative of the respite, while the Zangoose did what she did best: nothing. The gentle rush of water was calming, though the teens at the nearby campsite not so much.

Gazing in their direction, he could see them eyeing him up, whispering and having the odd laugh. Standard teen fare. The automaton didn't react, instead turning head in their direction, while the Zangoose simply ignored them, focusing instead on the basket. There were biscuits in there with her name on them, and she was intent on getting to them. Cal on the other hand waved a claw at them, giving the youths the biggest, cheeriest smile he could, though all three were at least wary of them. "No need to be concerned. They're kids, they're pretty much doing things kids do at that age. Let's relax, get a bite to eat, and ignore them. Hell, if they're up for some battling afterwards, we can afford it."

Gladius, we’re going to need you to defend Reaper this time around make sure you Take Down anything that tries to get in Reapers way! And also use your Aqua Tail if need be!”
On Samuel's side of the log, Cirrus easily managed to land his Air Cutter, while Samuel's Lurantis was busy using Growth, and his Heat Wave went straight through Lurantis' attempt to block it with a Razor Leaf. Both attacks messed up Samuel's Scyther's hits, which was all her side needed.

On Melissa's side, Signal successfully Sucker Punched Samuel's Kabutops, preventing it from using Aurora Beam and letting Ore get four Fury Swipes in. Of course, while Signal was busy using Heal Bell to fix Ore's confusion, Kabutops got an Icy Wind in, knocking Ore over and stopping him from using Shadow Claw.

Samuel skipped straight to giving his Pokémon orders. "Go all out, team! Reaper, continue to cut that log and use Night Slash and Air Slash! Odachi, switch to offense and attack their cutter with your Signal Beam and then give it a Dual Chop! Gladius, we're going to need you to defend Reaper this time around. Make sure you Take Down anything that tries to get in Reaper's way! And also use your Aqua Tail if need be!"

Melissa glanced at him sidelong when there wasn't any additional chatter. Weird. Was he only now taking things seriously or had he not expected things to go this way? Well, either way, she needed to win this trial to get to the next level and the Cloud Shrine, so that's what she would aim for.

"Cirrus, let's keep the pressure up on his side of the log. Aim for the Scyther and use Swift, then Aerial Ace!" She was hoping that having to deal with two difficult-to-block/dodge attacks would make things difficult on the defender and allow at least one attack to hit, though both would be awesome. "Signal, try to disrupt the Signal Beam with Shock Wave, then Ice Beam." Not that Ore would have to worry if she figured Dual Chop's Type correctly. "Ore, one more time: Fury Swipes, then Shadow Claw!"

Kijo's presence at the Starline River was entirely out of practicality. A water type - particularly one that would learn how to ascend waterfalls and traverse bodies of water - would allow for further exploration of the Cloud Garden, and presumably other areas as well. Of course, one should never be too narrow-minded in one's objectives; after all, with only one Pokemon at her disposal, she was sorely in need of diversity, no matter what form it came in.

The trainer stands, rather awkwardly, on the shoreline - normally oozing with poise and self-confidence, the former Team Rocket member seems somewhat out of her element in such an idyllic atmosphere. Bia, on the other hand, has already bounded into water. After an initial bit of shock and a thorough shiver, she begins enthusiastically swimming around the shallows, enjoying the space to roam and the sensation that the water provides her, however cold it may be. Kijo's ears fill with the sound of joyous squeaks and hearty splashing. A paw extends out of the water, beckoning her trainer to join, which is met with a harsh grunt and a shake of the head. A moment's disappointment flashes across Bia's expression, but the water is so clear - so refreshing and fun to play in - that disappointments are forgotten quickly. Great. Now I have to keep an eye on her, on top of everything else...

Kijo resumes her scan of the river, pausing every few seconds to make sure that Bia was still enjoying herself safely. She hadn't given that little brat permission to go swimming - this disobedience would have to be addressed swiftly - and yet, it was hard to discipline her Pokemon in that moment. Perhaps once they returned home, she would have a stern discussion with the little Stufful about asking permission... but for now, let the little one enjoy the moment. It's not like I was ever one to ask permission, myself, Kijo thinks with the ghost of a smirk playing at the corner of her lips.

Gavin facepalmed- Dudley's Water Gun successfully doused the flames that threatened to incinerate the Kricketune, sure enough. Only problem was, it also successfully doused the Kricketune! And the Bug-type did not appreciate this in the slightest, flailing randomly as it lashed out with Fury Cutter. "Shit," grumbled Gavin.

Things did not improve from there. Ringo may have thought Gavin's idea was brilliant, but the problem with that was that Lady did not seem to actually know Sand Attack. Moreover, as the Herdier seemed intent on helping Dudley out, Aipom showed up to distract her from this goal, and did so by getting her to catch a flaming stick in her mouth. "Oh, what the actual fuck!" exploded Gavin.

The good news here was that Dudley succeeded in putting out the tree, and that Kricketune had collapsed from exhaustion, ceasing its wild attacking. The bad news was that just before collapsing, Kricketune had toppled the highly damaged tree with Fury Cutter, dividing Gavin and Miror from Dudley. "Slooooow?" Dudley called.

"Gah... Dudley, it's up to you!" called Gavin. "Teleport yourself right into the Herdier's path and use Telekinesis, just to hold her in place until the stick is extinguished! Then use- no, you know what? Then use Rain Dance!" Gavin decided. Why hadn't he thought of that earlier? Water Gun might put out the flames, but it could also hit Lady and do some real damage. Rain Dance, on the other hand, wouldn't do damage at all. Might make for some unpleasant weather, but it beat the alternative, Gavin reasoned. Aipom might still pose a problem, of course, but one thing at a time. And speaking of which, Gavin turned to the exhausted Kricketune, approaching the Bug-type. "Look," he said. "I hope you realize by now- me, Miror, Dudley, we're not the bad guys here. I don't know what that Aipom's problem is, but it's been screwing with you, with that Rattata, and with me as well. Probably got something to do with that old man I've been trying to warn you about, it honestly wouldn't surprise me. And if you still don't believe me, then hear this- if I wanted to attack you, I couldn't ask for a better opportunity than right now. And you know what I'm gonna do with this opportunity? I'm gonna help you feel better." And he turned to the Maractus by his side. "Miror, Grassy Terrain." he said.

"Rrrrractus," nodded Miror, preparing to use the move Gavin had ordered. The closest thing the Maractus had to a healing move, Grassy Terrain was sure to help Kricketune to feel relaxed and refreshed.

TheKnightsFury:
As they headed down into the dark depths of the cave, Jayson, Ajax, and Tomoe began to take in the senses of everything around them. It was when they heard whimpering of a small animal nearby that Tomoe the Wimpod scuttled off to investigate it. With no time like the present to work on his training, Jayson called for Ajax to light their path with a Flash. The Chespin focused hard for a moment, trying to remain calm and positive in order to be of use to his comrades.

The quills on Ajax’s head suddenly began to pulse with a very faint light. The light grew a bit stronger after a couple of moments, causing Jayson and Ajax to smile with excitement, but it was far from prefect. Like a sputtering flashlight that was running low on batteries, visibility was upgraded from ‘nonexistent’ to ‘dark forest during a new moon.’ It wasn’t great, but it was a start.

Using their hands as buffers to catch them from tripping over or crashing into anything, Jayson and Ajax made their way through the cave as they followed the whimpering noise. As it got louder and louder, eventually they came across Tomoe’s shaking backside as she was peering into a small hole underneath a few boulders. Calling Tomoe to move out of the way, Jayson crouched down and pulled Ajax close to get a closer look. Before he could see anything else, Jayson spotted a few dark streaks across the cavern floor- likely dried blood. Staring into the hole, Jayson was met by a pair of blue eyes staring back at him. Taking a moment to adjust his eyes, the blue eyes belonged to a small brown canine with a fluffy white tail and dark diamond-shaped rocks around its neck. The dog let out a soft, defensive growl at it tried to protect its space from being invaded. There was something not right about the positioning of its leg, however. They had come down a pretty significant slope of steps since they entered the cave, and it was highly possible that this dog had fallen down and broke its leg in the process. It would be best to try and get it some medical attention back outside, but trying to coax an injured animal that wanted to be left alone wasn’t going to be an easy task.

Patches:
The fight between Stufful and Pancham was coming down to the wire as Patches, Mio, and Kei eagerly watched on in support of the brave little teddy bear. Pancham was ready to end the match with an intimidating Karate Chop, so Stufful had to think fast to counter it. Once he thought of a plan, Stufful defiantly stared down his opponent and prepared to fight.

As Pancham charged in with its arm raised, Stufful quickly flashed his Baby-Doll Eyes at the unsuspecting attacker, temporarily catching him off guard. Pancham’s hand came down, the Karate Chop hitting Stufful in the head, but much of the contact was absorbed by his Fluffy plush fur. Stufful then began to retaliate by flailing his arms around wildly, hitting Pancham with a Brutal Swing who grimaced as it was knocked back. “Paaaaan!!!” Pancham called out as it lunged back into the fray and unleased a flurry of Comet Punches. “Fuuuullll!” Stufful answered as he continued to flail, hitting Pancham back with another Brutal Swing.

The two Pokemon were knocked back by the impact of each other’s attacks and slowly attempted to get to their feet. They both wobbled for a minute before Pancham fell back onto the floor, unable to continue. Stufful had finally done it; he stared his bully in the eye and overcame it! Kei, Mio, and Patches jumped for joy as they were finally allowed into the ring to congratulate their friend.

“Ding! Ding!” the bell chimed and they looked over to see that Timburr was conscious again and had rung the bell with his plank. “Burr,” he spoke, giving a knowing nod to show that he acknowledged Stufful as the winner. The Mankeys parted the ropes to allow for everyone to climb out of the ring. With the fighting tournament now over, it was time to go. Patches and her Pokemon were unsure of what would happen to Stufful, and considered the possibility that they would soon be parting ways. However, Stufful had other plans as he followed Patches and firmly stood before her. From the look of it, Stufful had made up his mind that he wanted to join Patches’ team and continue growing with his newfound friends. Congratulations, you are now able to add a lv.16 male Stufful with the Fluffy ability to your team if you please!

Overjoyed and now ready to go, Patches and her Pokemon were stopped once again as a “Cham!” called out to them. Stufful turned around to see none other than Pancham standing behind him with a serious look on his face. Pancham reached out and handed Stufful a Black Belt as well as a small disc. He then shook Stufful’s paw and stated that Stufful better use those because the next time they met he would need them. With Patches and her Pokemon now free to roam wherever they pleased, they knew that Stufful had a new rival waiting for him.

Patches has gained the following items:
1x Black Belt
1x TM Bulk Up

Thanks for the fun adventure, you are now free to go elsewhere on the lower level of the Cloud Garden! Stufful is now yours to keep if you wish to do so!

Thanks for the fun adventure, you are now free to go elsewhere on the lower level of the Cloud Garden! Stufful is now yours to keep if you wish to do so!
The others didn’t even have time to process the win before Patches had already found her way inside of the ring. “Ahhhhh you did it! I’m so happy!” She runs right up to Stufful and lifts him up into the air so hard that she ends up throwing him into the air instead. “Oh, whoops!” Patches realizes the situation wasn’t looking good but Kei charged right in and broke Stufful’s fall. “Sorry about that… Sometimes I don’t know my own strength!” Patches chuckles nervously and Mio just sighs and runs over to Stufful who was climbing off of Kei to make sure they were both alright. Stufful was still smiling though, despite the surprise “attack” from Patches, he knew she meant well and Kei was doing fine too, since he was pretty used to it at this point.

Then the bell began to ring and everyone’s attention was now on Timburr who was once again conscious. “Aww… I wanted to ring the bell…” Patches was a little disappointed but she was still proud as she watched everyone acknowledge Stufful’s strength and Kei even gave Stufful a big hug as a sign of friendship. Following her Pokemon’s lead, Patches exited the ring once the Mankey’s parted the ropes and began to feel a bit sad once she realized this was the end. “I’ll never forget any of you! I’m so happy I got to meet you all and I hope we get too see eachother again someday!” Then she took a moment to kneel down so that she would be on Stufful’s level. “Especially you. I’m so happy Kei was able to make such an adorable friend.” Beside Patches, Kei’s eyes were beginning to tear up. He knew that there was a chance they may never see each other again and it broke his heart to think about.

Fortunately, Stufful had other plans. “Stuff stuff!” Stufful pleaded with Patches. He knew he wanted to go wherever his new friends were going, now he just hoped that they would accept him. “Oh! Of course! I’m glad that you asked!” She rummaged around in her bag for what felt like an eternity until finally she came up empty handed. “Um… I’m so so sorry… I think I may have used the last of my confetti earlier so I don’t have any to give you.” Mio face palmed. Stufful, who wasn’t quite used to Patches yet was confused. But Kei was already digging through her bag himself with a big smile and pulled out an empty pokeball just for Stufful. “Oh good thinking Kei! If we bring him with us then we can get him some confetti later!” Patches took the ball from Kei’s hands and held it out to Stufful with the biggest smile she could manage. “What do you say? Would you like to join us?” Stufful jumps up and down with enthusiasm and then bumps the button on the ball himself and gets pulled inside. The ball instantly clicks and Stufful is now an official member of the team.

Patches immediately presses the button in order to release Stufful. “You should stay out with us for a little longer so we can all get to know each other!” Stufful nods and together with Patches and the others, begins to walk away but is soon stopped by Pancham. After receiving a few rewards and a few exchanged words Stufful runs to catch up with Patches and they set off once again. “Hmm…” As they walk through the plains Patches glances at both Kei and Stufful and can see that they are slightly out of breath. “You two did wonderfully! I think we need to get you both healed up before we explore anymore though.” Both Kei and Stufful nod at the same time and their new destination was now finding a place to heal before figuring out where to go. “Oh and Stufful, since you’re one of us now, you’re going to need a name, so from now on I’m going to call you Soji!”

Patches captured a lv. 16 male Stufful with ability Fluffy!

Claiming

x1 Black Belt
x1 TM Bulk Up

Ajax tried his best to master the move, but came up a little short, only managing to slightly illuminate their surroundings. Something was better than nothing though, they could at least see something now, allowing them to surely but surely pursue Tomoe and the mysterious whimpering. Carefully making their way towards the sound, Jayson and Ajax eventually find the curious Wimpod, her tail rattling as she peers into a hole in the wall, partially concealed by some boulders. Inside the hole was the source of the whimpering, a small canine that Jayson quickly identified as a Rockruff. The Rock type seemed in rather bad shape, the trail of dried blood and the odd positioning of its leg seemed to suggest that it had broken or badly hurt its leg. Such an injury could not be left untreated, if left unattended, the wound could get infected. Even if it avoided infection, Jayson knew the Rockruff would likely starve, or be picked off by a predator looking for an easy feed. The pup seemed rather defensive, rightfully so considering it was hurt. It would likely be difficult to gain its trust, but Jayson knew he had to at least try.

Laying down on his stomach in order to be at the dog's height, Jayson dug through his bag. First he pulled out a Sitrus Berry, he figured that the nutritious fruit would help alleviate some of the Rock type's pain and hopefully gain him some trust. He then pulled out his Pink Water bottle, that he always kept filled with fresh water. Lastly he pulled out a Heatmor Plushie, figuring that if the Rockruff lashed out, it would be better for him to bite into the soft plushie instead of Jayson's soft flesh. "Hey there little one", Jayson said with a smile, "looks like you've hurt yourself pretty bad there." Jayson reached out and placed the berry in front of the Rockruff. "This berry will make you feel a little better, here is some water as well, you're probably thirsty as well." Jayson unscrewed the lid on the water bottle and poured a little of it into a small groove in the floor. Jayson waited for the Rockruff to finish the berry and have a drink. "Why don't you come out here so we can have a better look at that leg?" Jayson kept hold of the plushie, ready to intercept if the Rockruff lashed out.

"Ajax keep concentrating on your flash, see if you can make it a bit brighter so I can get a better look at this leg." The Chespin gave a nod as he began to focus more, intent on assisting his trainer. Tomoe watched on with concern, aware that the Rockruff was in a bad state.

Raves: You settle in with your Pokemon, deciding to take in the peace and beauty of your surroundings rather than concern yourself with the group of youths nearby. Your Garchomp gives them an exaggerated smile and wave, to which you hear them laugh and scoff. After they see that you and your Pokemon are not going to pay any attention to them, they lose interest quickly. One of the girls starts to climb a nearby tree and the others cheer her on and tease her about falling.

You are able to block the noise out, especially with the sound of the river rushing by. Totsuka rifles through the basket of goodies and pulls out her share of biscuits. Caladbolg dives to the basket next and after some shuffling of the contents, he cries out in shock and anger. He pulls out up a biscuit that has clearly been torn in half. The Shadow Zangoose is immediately accused, but she shows him that she really has only taken two, whole biscuits. You take a look yourself and try to deduce what could have happened to the other half of the biscuit. There aren’t any Pokemon or people nearby, and you know that your Pokemon would have noticed if some kind of Flying type had come down and snatched it. The only thing that seems out of place is one of the bushes nearby. If you look closely you can tell it has been disturbed, there are several leaves on the ground and a small hole where something must have gone through. On top of that, you hear a loud outburst of laughter from the teens again, and one of them has just returned something into a Pokeball.

-----------------
Stitches:

Being in nature was certainly refreshing. The river just seemed to carry all of your stress and worry away. There were plenty of things to draw your attention. The family playing nearby, a pair of trainers fishing on the other bank of the river, and if you looked into the water there were definitely shadows of Pokemon swimming around. You can’t take your eyes off the water though, there is just something about it that pulls you to it. Solemn seemed at peace as well. The Water-type was delighted to be so close to the fresh, clear water. Your Squirtle slides into the water, swimming circles around a large rock before returning to you and slowly floating by on his back. There was always the option to join in on his fun, but the water did look pretty cold. Solemn seems content to entertain himself with blowing bubbles in the water and diving down to find interesting rocks.

The water is beginning to lull you into full relaxation when something catches your attention with a plop! A round, blue object goes floating by and stops as it gets caught in between two rocks. It is about the size of a child’s ball, but you did not notice if the kids nearby even had toys with them. Solemn pops up from underwater with a rock in hand to show you, but notices that your attention is elsewhere. He looks at the object you point out, and he seems interested but wary. Your Pokemon looks to you, wondering if the two of you should try to check it out.

Meetan - After getting flooded with a bunch of disturbing information from Axel, you decide to try your luck at convincing Billie to get in there and help. The large Ursaring was clearly torn, you could see it on his face. He understood the urgency of the situation but at the same time, Ivan had told him he needed to stay put and guard you. He looked back and forth between you and the large truck that was down the hill clearly trying to decide what he should do. In the meantime, you gave Nina a new strategy, she was dealing with a fight of her own and you didn't have the time to leave her waiting.

Nina gladly Disabled the Sevipers Wrap, she was very over finding herself caught in such an attack. However, although he wouldn't be able to use the attack anymore, she was still currently stuck in the one he had already started which was where the rest of your strategy came in. The next part went over perfectly due to the Seviper's face being mere inches in front of Nina's. She looked him right in the eye and used her Hypnosis. There was no avoiding it, the Seviper's eyes slowly began to close as he slipped away into a deep sleep. His hold on Nina instantly loosened enough for her to pull herself free. She didn't even need her extra attack in order to free herself but since this was a battle she went ahead and used her Extrasensory anyway in hopes of it possibly knocking that Seviper out so that it wouldn't wake up. The Seviper twitched from the attack, definitely didn't KO but he's very much still asleep. (Nina gains 2 levels) "Damnit!!!!" The owner of the Seviper is angry but he's suddenly distracted by two things. The helicopter is overhead now and slowly landing! The blades from the helicopter are not only loud but are also kicking up winds and can't be ignored. The other thing was that the engine on the truck suddenly roared to life. You had just finished issuing a strategy to Axel when things took a bit of a turn.

The man inside must have finally regained his bearings because suddenly the truck began to move which was a sign that you were running out of time. At that moment, Billie had to think fast, his friends were in trouble after all. Next thing you know, your world is flipped sideways as Billie quickly lifted you up with his free arm and threw you over his shoulder then began running down the hill as you held on for dear life. It seems that you are constantly being forced to go places by Pokemon that aren't yours today. "Ursa!!!" Before the truck managed to gain any kind of speed, Billie tossed Greg to the side and leaped for one of the front tires while you were still hanging on! His claws managed to dig deep into the tire, piercing it. You fell off and rolled into the grass getting several patches of dirt and grass stains on your clothing but otherwise you're okay. Ivan saw what was happening and began to run toward you and Billie. At that moment, the popped tire caused the truck to be uneven and the hilly terrain instantly made it so that the truck began tipping toward you and Billie! Ivan was running as fast as he could but could tell he wouldn't make it on time.

"Billie! Use your Strength to stop that truck from falling over!" Billie instantly reacted to his trainer and his hands dug into the side of the truck and he braced himself with his body, but the truck was quite heavy, especially because of the hill tilting it so he was struggling. Ivan finally caught up and pulled you up by your hand and then roughly pulled you away. "I'm sorry if I hurt your arm, but I needed to get you out from under there. I just want you to stay safe." He then turned back to Billie. "If you can't stop the truck from falling over then see if you can put it down gently so that the Pokemon inside don't get any more hurt than they already are."

As all of that was happening, Axel had been working inside of the truck. His Knock Off had easily opened the doors the rest of the way but him and Franklin were stuck inside because they couldn't leave without helping the other Pokemon. Since it had worked so well on Franklin's cage, Axel had decided to use his Iron Tail to break the rest of the Pokemon free while Franklin was gently using his Water Gun to help clean off the Sludge that covered their bodies. The Pokemon that was earlier considered a mystery was finally clean enough for Axel to see what it was. A baby Skiddo. It was very tiny compared to the Skiddo that had been forcing you to ride it before and it was shaking from fear. Axel relayed this to you immediately. After he was cleaned, Tank the Mudbray was the first one to exit the truck and without Tank's very heavy weight inside, Billie was able to easily finish gently placing the truck on the ground.

"Uncle!!!!!" You turn around and see Greg who was tossed by Billie now standing up and waving his arms in the air toward the helicopter. You watch as the helicopter finally finishes its landing. Tinted windows made it so that you couldn't even tell who was inside but there was a large M on the side of it. There was a long pause, whoever was in there seemed to be in no rush to come out. "Damnit I could really use my phone right about now. We need to contact the police! And more importantly this is getting serious, we need to get these Pokemon and get out of here! Billie can carry Joe and Tank can carry-"

"Miss! Uhhh Alice was it? Your Pokemon could use a little help!" Joe, who was sitting in the grass where Ivan had left him was shouting for you. You had been distracted by everything after Billie had swept you off your feet. You immediately look over and see that the Seviper is awake once again and that Nina was completely drenched in poison from the Seviper's Venoshock attack. And because Nina was already poisoned, she seemed to be in quite a bit of pain.

---------------------

myahoo - The trial continues and although Samuel is unusually quiet, he still has a huge grin on his face. On Samuel's side of the log, his Pokemon are looking extra serious. As soon as Reaper the Scyther raises his arm, Cirrus begins to pelt him with stars from his Swift. However, he is only hit by a couple of them before Gladius the Kabutops leaps into the air and Takes him Down, forcing him to stop before finishing his attack. The attack threw him off a bit, but Reaper still manages to hit the log with his Night Slash, although a little weaker than it would have originally been. Next, Reaper gives himself some space and raises his arm once again. This time Cirrus dives down with an Aerial Ace and slightly hits Reaper but before his body could make full impact, Gladius smacks him away with his Aqua Tail. Having almost been knocked over, Reaper stumbles a bit but still releases an Air Slash toward the log which makes contact and suddenly, the log is completely cut through and falls! But at the same time…

Ore had already begun to use Fury Swipes on the log, cutting away at the wood rapidly. On his third hit, he was hit by part of Odachi the Lurantis' Signal Beam but thanks to Signal's Shock Wave the beam was turned in another direction. Ore managed to continue and got 5 hits off on the log with only one of them being partial due to his minor wound from the Signal Beam. The log is barely hanging on now, it looks like even the gentlest of touches will make it completely give. Ore prepares his claws but is suddenly hit with the first of two Dual Chops before he even has the chance to do his attack, but there is still time. Odachi proceeds to finish up with the second half of the Dual Chop when suddenly she is hit by Signal's Ice Beam which instantly freezes her arm. Ore uses this as his opportunity to finish his attack and slashes away at what's left of the log with his Shadow Claw, causing the log to completely give.

Both sides fall, but the winner is clear. As the log falls there is one side that had been falling ever so slightly longer, causing that side to hit the ground first. "Well would you look at that! Congratulations!" Samuel grabs your hand and starts shaking it up and down. "You all did a wonderful job and now you deserve a rest!" He returns all three of his Pokemon, who actually all looked pretty happy as well. There wasn't a single sore loser in the bunch. "Your Pokemon all worked together wonderfully! You've earned this!" He pulls out a small badge and hands it to you along with a TM.

Congratulations! You have received the Cutter Badge and TM Fury Cutter. "That badge is all you need to get yourself up to the second level and to the Cloud Shrine where I'm sure Jet will help you find that Pidgey you're after. He can come across as a little rough around the edges but he's a good guy! Of course, if you want to get up there you'll have to climb the Starline Waterfall with one of your Pokemon first. Marina will gladly help you with that if you need it!"

Ore has grown 4 levels!
Signal has grown 3 levels!
Cirrus has grown 3 levels!

Marion Ette - You didn't seem to be enjoying yourself as much as the other trainers and families that surrounded you. This kind of place wasn't a usual stop for someone like yourself, but you had a very specific objective in mind, finding a water Pokemon, and coming to a river is one of the best places to do such a thing. You are deep in thought as you scan the river in hopes of finding a good addition to your team, when suddenly, you feel someone tap on your shoulder. You spin around and there is a person so close to you that you jump back a bit, almost stumbling into the river beside Bia. "Oh, I'm so so sorry miss!" A woman who has swollen red eyes, clearly from crying, is looking at you apologetically as she holds out a flyer toward you. "P-please…" Her voice cracks, it's clear she is trying to avoid having another crying fit. You take the flyer and look at it "LOST POKEMON" There are large bold letters at the top which immediately grab your attention. Below that is an image. A completely blurred image. This image could clearly be anything, it looks extremely distorted; it's almost as if the photos quality was already horrible but then they printed it with a printer that ran out of ink and followed that up with pouring water on it for good measure. Or wait, maybe instead of water it was that woman's tears? Below that was just some information about how to contact them.

You wanted to ask about the picture but when you looked up from the flyer, the woman was already gone. Looking around, you can't spot her anywhere but there are a lot of people around so maybe she just got lost in the crowd. You don't have much time to think about it however, because suddenly there is a loud splash. You spin around and the rivers current briefly picks up due to a large wave that must have been created by whatever that splash was. Bia is of course picked up in the wave and pulled down the river about 20 feet before things settle back down again, she is clearly alright, and 20 feet isn't all that far. Of course, things aren't so simple. "Oh ho ho!!" An older gentleman spots Bia in the river and gets very excited. "I've never seen a Pokemon quite like that one in this here river so it must be one of them super ultra rares that the kiddos keep talking about!" The man excitedly prepares one of his fishing rods and then throws the line out and the bait lands right next to Bia. "Wooooie! This here's gonna be quite a catch this one!"

Missingno. Master - Another complicated situation has arisen so once again you do your best to have your Pokemon fix it. Dudley Teleports in front of Lady and all of a sudden, he's feeling like his normal self again, in other words, slow. Back to his usual thought process, he needs a minute to get his thoughts straight before he can do what's next. However, due to him blocking Lady's path, she just charged straight into him and bounced back. Lady didn't seem to mind the sudden road block, in fact, what's the point of fetch if you don't have someone to bring the stick back to? She gladly drops the stick right there on the grass at Dudley's feet and begins to wag her tail. It is then that she is finally risen up into the air due to Dudley's Telekinesis. She's perfectly content with this as well, tail still wagging and even her tongue is hanging out of her mouth.

As that was being taken care of, you approached Kricketune once again and began to explain the situation. You were determined to get this Pokemon to understand the facts. The Kricketune was still skeptical, it didn't know what to believe but it couldn't deny the fact that if you wanted to attack it you would. Of course, it was still wary, even without wanting to attack it you could have other kinds of bad intentions and it had not forgotten that your Pokemon had put it to sleep and made it lose its Nanab Berry.

As the Kricketune was thinking things over, Dudley was taking his dear sweet time with the next step. Which isn't too good considering a flaming stick had been dropped into the grass and at no surprise to anyone, the fire was beginning to spread across the grass just like it did earlier when Kricketune was in danger. "Oh my god oh my god oh my GOD!!" Ringo was freaking out, stomping at the flames that threatened to spread to the trees. "DO SOMETHING!!" She begins to shout at Kenny in a panic, it seems she had observed that he was able to get Dudley moving. After one good chomp, Dudley finally remembered what it was he needed to do next and began to perform a Rain Dance. He seemed to be pretty enthusiastic about his dance, a little too enthusiastic. Suddenly it was almost as if the Starline Waterfall was pouring down from the sky on everything and everyone near the area. And of course, at that exact same time Miror had begun to grow a Grassy Terrain for Kricketune. After another good chomp from Kenny, Dudley dialed it back a bit so that it became a normal rain. However, the sudden downpour was perfectly timed with Miror's move which caused the grass that Miror was trying to grow to grow a bit too quickly.

Kricketune was gone, well, not actually gone, but no one could see it through the extra tall and thick patch of grass that had enveloped its entire body. The effects of such a sudden fierce downpour were evident everywhere. You, Ringo, all of the Pokemon, and the ground were completely drenched. Your clothes were completely stuck to you and your hair was sticking to your face. It looked like you had decided to turn on a shower and jump in with all of your clothes on. Ringo was in the same condition you were and all of the Pokemon had large amounts of water dripping off of them. The good news was that the fire was completely put out! Of course, it didn't take long for you to hear that familiar laughter coming from a very amused monkey. Aipom was rolling around on the ground in a puddle laughing so hard it had tears in its eyes. Looks like it's guard is down due to how hilarious it finds this situation. Ringo looks down at her drenched clothes in disgust. "Just so you know. You have somehow made this day go from terrible to worse. It was just supposed to be another average day on the farm!!" She yells at you and then huffs and crosses her arms. "And it's not funny!" She finishes by yelling at Aipom too. Kricketune hasn't made an appearance since getting enveloped in grass, in fact, the grass hasn't even moved at all and it's so thick that hopefully it can breathe in there.

Gavin kept on trying to make Kricketune understand, he was not the enemy here. Of course, considering how that damn Aipom kept screwing everything up, he'd be lucky if he could get through to the Bug-type.

"Oh, fuck," groaned Gavin- for at that moment, he heard Ringo screaming and panicking. He opened his mouth to try and call out to Dudley, when at that moment, Kenny nodded at Ringo's panicked pleas for him to do something, and chomped hard on Dudley's tail. That got things going... perhaps too much so, for a moment later, Gavin was drenched in a momentary torrential downpour that felt rather like being trapped beneath a waterfall. The sudden deluge did have one upside, though- it muffled the various expletives Gavin was now shouting to no one in particular.

As Dudley toned down the rain, however, another effect of the momentary monsoon very quickly manifested itself. It's a basic fact of life, after all, that rain helps grass grow. And this rain most definitely helped Miror's Grassy Terrain to grow. Kricketune was no longer visible, trapped within a tall and thick patch of grass. "Oh, COME ON!" Gavin exclaimed in his frustration. Everyone was drenched, everything was soaking wet, and the Grassy Terrain that was supposed to soothe Kricketune's injuries was now entombing it. And Aipom seemed to be loving this, laughing hysterically, its guard down. Gavin realized this, realized he could capitalize on this, defeat that little trickster once and for all-

And then Ringo screamed at Gavin, blaming everything on him, blaming him for making the day even worse than it would've been. Miror hesitantly looked up at Gavin- he'd seen these levels of frustration in the Pyrite-native before, and knew that that outburst may very well have been the straw that broke the Numel's back.

"Excuse me?!" Gavin retorted. "I made this day go from terrible to worse?! I made that happen? I come in here trying to fix your farm's fucking problems, and what do I get? That little shitwad coming in, getting me all mixed up with these stupid feuds over the damn Nanab Berries, turning the Pokémon against me when I'm trying to talk some sense into them, playing tricks, taunting me, laughing like crazy all the while, and I'm doing all the actual thinking here, having to come up with about thirty different damn plans at once, trying to stop things from falling apart any further than they already have, and I'M the one fucking this day up?! And YOU!" he exclaimed, rounding on the Aipom, who was still laughing, laughing at Gavin, laughing at all the mayhem it caused, the mayhem Gavin was being blamed for.

Something snapped. There was no more rational thought, no more remaining calm. And there wasn't gonna be any more of that, not until that damn, infernal Aipom stopped laughing like a maniac. Too incensed to speak, to issue orders to Miror, Gavin took just about the only nonverbal course of action he could think of. Which, perhaps thankfully, did not involve attacking the Aipom himself- Gavin may have been acting on instinct by this point, but among his instincts was a strong refusal to take part in Pokémon abuse of any sort. Battling was one thing, but he refused to deal bodily damage to a Pokémon by his own hand. Of course, once Gavin would calm down, for sure he was going to regret doing this. But for now, the fact remained that Gavin plunged his right hand into his red backpack. The fact remained that when said hand emerged, it was clutching a Nest Ball. The second one of the set of five he'd bought.

"GAAAAAAAAHH!" Gavin exclaimed his anger and frustration, and at the same time, heaved the Nest Ball right at the source of that infernal, infuriating laughter. Miror elected to not watch this- instead, he felt his time would be better spent trying to free Kricketune from the grass. He called Dudley over, asking the Shiny Slowbro for his help. No attacks this time- thus far, their attempts to solve problems with attacking moves always seemed to end up making the situation even screwier. Granted, much of that was on the Aipom Gavin was unwittingly attempting to catch, but still, the point remained that not attacking, and just trying to get through the grass themselves, was their best bet for rescuing Kricketune without hurting it even further. And as a further gesture of goodwill, Miror even asked Dudley to issue Kricketune a Heal Pulse once they were clear of the thick tall grass. Would all this- Miror and Dudley's rescue attempt, and Gavin's... er... course of action against Aipom... be enough to finally bring the situation under control? Miror certainly hoped so. For the sake of this farm, and for Gavin's sanity.

*Gavin used Nest Ball!*

Isaac flushed a stark crimson, was Leo actually serious? He could hardly contain his flustered noises, giving a small squeak that he stifled with his mouth. He smiled to Leo as the man brought him a drink, claiming to take it if he 'desired'. If he wasn't already fairly confident in his sexuality this would absolutely be his awakening. He couldn't even imagine what he would have done if this would have happened to fourteen year old "nah bro, I'm not gay bro." Isaac. He chuckled to himself, trying (and failing), to make it look like he totally wasn't having an internalized attack at the thought of the dashing ranger who saved his life from a fearsome bear. He took the drink, raising it to the ceiling.

"Well, you don't take much convincing." He downed the drink easily, his years of holding his alcohol doing wonders. As he put the glass back down, he heard Leo tell him to think about something pleasant. "What, like you and me an- GAH" Isaac shouted out, the sudden sharp sting catching him off guard. After the initial sting however, he felt instant relief. He sighed, unclenching his fist that had quickly tightened up in response to the pain. After Isaac was wrapped up in gauze, he quickly pulled his shirt back over his head and pulled his jacket over his shoulders. Leo apologized once again for Smokey, to which Isaac shook his head.

"Honestly, it's my bad. Now what about that write up?" He smiled earnestly, he had seen his fair share of write ups in the past. Hotels he had to apologize to after trashing the rooms, bills he had to pay following rowdy parties, hell he had been put in the slammer twice for possession. This was not new, and he was ready to do what was necessary. However, Leo simply handed him a plastic bag, asking him to throw his trash in there next time and making some sort of joke about a burnt forest. Isaac laughed, it was obviously fake, but at this point he'd do almost anything to get into Leo's good books. As the healing machine gave a beep to signal it was finished, Isaac quickly grabbed Vinny's Pokeball. The stunning red cherish ball sparkled in his hand, he sent her out inside the cabin upon hearing the prospect of food. Surely his sweet princess was hungry?

The stunning beige fox looked around the cabin, confused as to how they had arrived here. She spotted the bear from earlier in the cabin and jumped forward, growling at it.

"Vin, hey. Stop it. Smokey is a nice bear," The Leafeon looked confused, but quickly returned to her trainer's side as he poured her a bowl of food. She chomped away viciously, obviously hungry after her sudden size change and rather taxing battle. He smiled at her as she ate, trying to decide where he wanted to head next.

-------------------------------------

After saying goodbye to Leo, and apologizing once again for all the trouble he caused. Isaac was on his way, a map in hand to plot out the course for his next adventure. He looked down at his Leafeon, she smacked her lips together in a yawn as she stretched, ready for her master's orders. The two walked for a while before noticing a beautiful garden, it was fantastically arranged and maintained. Isaac couldn't help but feel a little giddy seeing it, he could always admire beauty in gardening.

As Isaac and his new grass type walked forward, Vinny stopped a few times to smell the flowers. They were much different than the variety her master had at home, he tended to stick to flowers he liked --- but this was impressive. This was a little bit of everything bottled into one beautiful package. Isaac felt like he was in his own wonderland as they walked forward. He had to wonder if anyone would be willing to sell him some of the seeds they sowed here. He would absolutely love to add them to his garden back at home, not to mention that Vinny seemed almost as enamored as he was. He almost felt like a tourist, maybe that's what he was at this point. He wasn't sure what he was looking for, but maybe he'd find it... whatever it was, around here.

While Kijo could tolerate crowded spaces and invasions of her personal space better than most, surprises were not her forte; the sudden realization regarding the presence of this woman, particularly given the unexpectedly glassy, red look of her eyes, sends Kijo nearly stumbling into the water in a poor attempt to create distance. After a moment to orient to her current situation, Kijo snorts with irritation. Poor fool of a woman was clearly letting her emotions get the better of her... not just in her overwhelmed countenance, but with the very real, tangible effect of her tears defacing the flyers intended to help her with her search. The tall, gruff former criminal raises an eyebrow and parts her lips, readying a sharp remark for the woman to pull herself together and provide her with more detailed, useful information than this awful, sopping wet mess. What was she supposed to do with this? All she could glean from it is some contact information, and what good is that when the owner of the missing Pokemon is standing right -

Well. She WAS standing right there. Probably in a mad dash to get that flyer to as many people as possible, not even bothering to stick around to answer questions or listen to what anyone has to say, Kijo thinks. How anyone could self-sabotage that completely and with so little awareness is beyond my-

A loud splash interrupts Kijo's thoughts, and a look of sheer panic seizes her face for the briefest of moments as she watches her beloved Bia carried away on the surf... Bia, however, looks thrilled to pieces at the sudden surge of excitement. Carried a mere 20 feet away, the look on Bia's face suggests that she's hoping for more waves to carry her about. Kijo, on the other hand, may die of a heart attack at any moment, and this worry for Bia is only further exacerbated by the lure suddenly placed within gobbling distance of her Pokemon. Already, Bia was sniffing the bait, curious about its sudden appearance.

Snarling like the demon for which she is named, Kijo's voice booms across the lake, a visceral, beast-like roar, utterly unconcerned with what attention her display of fear and rage might draw from the crowd around her:

"BIA, RETURN TO ME THIS INSTANT!!!"

If the little pink bear had even a ounce of self-preservation left in her - and Kijo knew she did - she better damn well come running.

Cirrus' Swift didn't manage more than a few hits before Samuel's Kabutops leapt up and Took him Down. Not that his Aerial Ace was very successful either, since he only partially managed to hit the Scyther before the Kabutops came in with an Aqua Tail. Cirrus tumbled through the air for a bit before righting himself and going to land in the nearest tree so he could shake himself out better as Samuel's Scyther cut through the log.

At the same time, Ore started Swiping Furiously at the log, natural competitiveness pushing him on once he realized that there wasn't much left to go. The Lurantis' Signal Beam managed to catch him on his third hit, but Signal's Shock Wave deflected it and Ore finished swiping at the log with a grin. As he prepared a Shadow Claw, he got hit with the first Dual Chop and chittered angrily at Signal, who flashed 'apology' and hurried aiming his Ice Beam. Signal loosed his attack just before Lurantis could finish its Dual Chop and Ore immediately used Shadow Claw to slice the piece off.

Melissa glanced back and forth between the two sides, watching anxiously as they closed the distance. She watched her side of the log fall and immediately checked on Samuel's side, seeing his side fall barely a moment after hers. She exhaled in relief and grinned.

"Well, would you look at that! Congratulations!" Samuel said, grabbing her hand and shaking it.

"Thanks!" Melissa said as her Pokémon regrouped and headed back towards her.

Samuel turned to his own Pokémon. "You all did a wonderful job and now you deserve a rest!" He returned them all and looked back to her. "Your Pokémon all worked together wonderfully! You've earned this!" He handed her a badge and a TM. "That badge is all you need to get yourself up to the second level and to the Cloud Shrine where I'm sure Jet will help you find that Pidgey you're after. He can come across as a little rough around the edges, but he's a good guy! Of course, if you want to get up there, you'll have to climb the Starline Waterfall with one of your Pokémon first. Marina will gladly help you with that if you need it!"

She grinned at Samuel. "Thanks again for the help, Samuel. I really appreciate it." She glanced around at her Pokémon. "Although...would it be alright if I healed my Pokémon before heading for the waterfall? Or I could stop by the ranger's cabin if you'd point out which way it is."

Turning to her Pokémon, she smiled and offered them their Pokéballs. "Great job, guys. Now, did you wanna hang around outside or take a rest?"

Ore immediately returned himself and so did Signal after a moment. Cirrus just flew down to perch on her arm with a chirp and walked himself up to her shoulder.

"Alright. You know you're gonna have to go back in to get healed, right?" Cirrus chirped again. "Alright then."

Melissa looked over to Samuel and waited expectantly for his answer.

Brayden was enjoying the weather and the nature around him, it was a very big change compared to the city life he was used to. Something about the water was drawing him in so while Solemn was playing the water, he couldn’t help but stare at the movement of the river. Solemn was having a ball, the water was where he felt the most at ease and he was enjoying playing around and floating in it. For a moment, Brayden considered joining him but decided against it in the end, the water looked pretty cold after all. Suddenly, something plopped into the water and Brayden instantly looked toward whatever it was. Solemn came up from the bottom of the river around the same time with a cool rock to show him and was completely blown off.

Brayden's attention was fully set on what it was that got caught between the rocks. Although, he could tell that Solemn was bothered since his attention wasn’t solely set on him. Solemn dropped the rock despite being annoyed and joined in on Brayden’s confusion and curiosity. “Come here Solemn, quick!” exclaimed Brayden. The thought of it possibly being something dangerous that could hurt Solemn shook him up. Who knows what it could be? There’s only one way to find out.

He quickly came to Brayden's side. “Be careful and go over there and Tackle whatever that thing is to dislodge it.” Brayden said to Solemn warily. Solemn hesitantly looks at the blue object and readies himself. After a few deep breaths, he charges in to Tackle the object loose.

Alice grimaced, looking anxiously up at the big bear to see what his decision was. She hoped he would comply, but hadn't thought that such compliance would involve scooping her up and throwing away Greg. "Hey, Billie, put me down! For fuck's sake!" She wasn't going to hide her frustration. Alice had her Vulpix in a battle down in the ditch and had to direct Axel, and she hadn't wanted Greg getting loose, either. It was a disaster, one that had involved wrecking the tyre like she had hoped, but almost had the vehicle falling on her as a result.

"No, it's okay. Thank you." Alice said to Ivan, sounding sincerely grateful for him having pulled her up. Even when she had been on the grass, her limbs were like jelly from dizziness and shock, and the 'freeze' response was just as valid as a 'flight' one to a situation like that. The descending helicopter made Alice hunch a little, blonde hair whipping wildly around her pale face. In spite of the noise, though, she heard Axel loud and clear. So, the Skiddo had been so desperate to get them into this to save their baby. What a resourceful parent that Pokemon was!

"Uncle? ... Massive prick." Alice uttered, glaring daggers at Greg. She pointed from Billie to Greg, knowing that Ivan was there but still hoping the big bear would go and fuck him up some more. She didn't have time to worry about it, though, as Joe called her over. "Nina!" She realised with horror, feeling sick and guilty for leaving her. It wasn't really her fault (damnit, Billie!), but still. "Nina, use your flail and endure attacks! You've got this!"

Or, so Alice hoped, but she was already prepping a switch. Alice found Nina's ball, ready to return her as soon as her comrade was ready, "Axel, I'm gonna need you to teleport down here once you're done incase Nina can't finish this Seviper." The trainer warned, "Finish it off with a surprise ice punch and zen headbutt if need be, appear and strike from behind. Then we can deal with the end of this mess." Whoever was in the helicopter. Stop it transporting, drag out whoever was hiding inside, round them up for arrest. End this rodeo, before it got any worse.
