... COMPLETE *Trade Close* Quote:
... COMPLETE. *Trade Close* *************** Never would Hyrem have thought the new year would start off in this manner: two Fossil Pokemon in the same day!? It was almost unheard of; unless someone had a gigantic bag of coins to unload at the old Coins for Prizes shop, it was rare to see someone get even one revived prehistoric creature, let alone two. But just before Jirachi's Casino was being shut down for good a fair group of trainers made out with some mysterious Pokemon locked away in eggs, with Hyrem finding himself with a Tirtouga. He knew, however, exactly who might be interested in a prehistoric sea turtle, and as luck would have it Gary was interested in trading his own newly hatched Fossil Pokemon as well, so that trade was a no-brainer. As for the other Fossil Pokemon, Keith was looking to find a home for his own, and it ended up going to Hyrem as well. First was the exchange of Pokeballs between Hyrem and Gary that would end up in both trainers receiving Fossil Pokemon they liked better than the ones that hatched for them. Once the exchange completed, Hyrem couldn't wait to open up his Pokeball. Out popped a two-legged grey reptile with a dull, blue color to his hindquarters as well as a spike on his back, his head taking the most of the spotlight as the smooth, blue skull and four spikes on the back of his head stuck out to Hyrem as well as the menacing, red eyes staring at him. "Ah, now that's more like it!" he said, scanning the prehistoric creature to his Pokedex: Cranidos, the Head Butt Pokemon. Cranidos lived in prehistoric jungles and charged its way through any obstacle using its thick skull. Its power and well protected skull allowed it to knock down trees to get to the fruit on them or run through those trees in an attempt to overrun its prey. It is thought that multiple young Cranidos would engage each other in headbutting contests in order to strengthen their skulls. They also use weaker headbutts to communicate with each other and even show affection. However, these thick skulls mean that they had small brains, revealing this Pokemon to rely solely on instinct. Now extinct, Cranidos can be revived using fossils of their skulls, which are usually found intact. "Wow, so all your power is in your head, though not really your brain," said Hyrem, who looked up only to find the baby at his feet bumping his head against his leg lightly. "Wait, what are you-" After three times, the Cranidos bumped against his leg much stronger than he was expecting and knocked him prone. "Ow, that hurt...Oh right! You use Headbutt to talk to one another, so you were probably trying to talk to me there! I guess I should get used to it..and maybe figure out what you're trying to say with them." "Crani cran!" the little dinosaur squeaked. "For now, welcome to the team! I'd name you right now, but I've got something else to do first, and I'd rather not spoil the surprise! Now come on over!" And with that, he beckoned the Rock-type to follow him to where Keith was. As Cranidos waddled over curiously, the quick trade had already been completed, and he had a Pokeball ready to open. "Okay, ready to see who I got along with you?" With an inquisitive squeak, he tilted his head wondering what was happening. "Hehe, I'll take that as a yes. Now come on out!" Another Pokemon soon materialized nearby the Cranidos, this one sporting red, blue, and yellow colors all over his body and plumage. "Wow, lots of colors to you, huh? Let's see..." Another scan of his Pokedex revealed the avian to be: Archen, the First Bird Pokemon. Originally known as the Pokemon that all other bird Pokemon descended from, research has found other ancestors for some species of bird Pokemon, although this Pokemon is still the ancestor of the majority of them. It had wings, but they had not yet been developed for flight. Instead, Archen used them to jump and glide around the treetops until it could finally jump down and pounce on its prey from above. Archen had gone extinct before mankind existed, but it can be revived using fossils of its feathers. However, the process for reviving Archen is more difficult than other Pokemon due to how fragile its feathers are and requires precision technology in order to succeed. "So does that mean Archen itself is fragile?" Hyrem asked. "Better be careful just to be safe." Once again he looked up, and once again Cranidos seemed to be up to something as he gently bumped heads with the Archen before Headbutting the poor chick right on his nose. Once Archen reeled back, he held his nose with his claws before crying, "ARRRC ARRRC ARRRC!" over and over again. "Aw, are you okay, little guy?" Hyrem scooped up the Flying-type in his arms before looking at his Cranidos. "I'd say you should be ashamed of yourself, but you don't even know that you're hurting anyone! Looks like we've got a lot of training to do if I'm going to help you control your Headbutt habit..and help you handle things easier whenever you get attacked!" he said, looking down at his new Archen. "Being Fossil Pokemon, you two are probably going to be my biggest challenges yet- ow! OW!" At that point, even while whimpering, Archen clamped his jaws around his arm and started chewing on it, and looking at his leg only showed his Cranidos chomping down on it with his beak. "Nngh, like I said, biggest challenges yet! Now let's go find you two something else to chew on...first you, Dome, and then one for you, Quill!" |

“Gal?” (Why are we here again?) “Gal?” (What did you do with Faust?) “Patience,” Lucas reassured him. “Do you remember the storm that wiped out our last base?” “Gallade.” (How could I forget.) “Well you might then also remember the two other trainers with us at the time.” “Gallade gal.” (You mean the ones who helped subdue Kong when he flew into a rage.) Lucas was slightly peeved at the reminder. “Yes, well. You might also remember they both helped us out in other ways.” The Gallade wondered if he meant the boy Ethan who gladly pilfered some of Lucas’ cache, gifting them with a Roselia in turn, a Pokémon they still didn’t exactly know what to do with. “Yes, but that’s not the one I was talking about,” Lucas was clearly talking about the cowboy-hatted trainer. “Keith or something or other. He had a Dusknoir manning his vessel. When I asked him about it and how I could get Faust to reach his final evolution, he talked about a Reaper’s Cloth that could unlock his ultimate power.” “Gal-gallade.” (Sounds more like silly superstition to me.) “Perhaps,” Lucas didn’t really argue the point. It sounded unbelievable that such an item would exist and would be needed for a final evolution. “But I’ve managed to ask around and came upon a trainer who claimed to have a spare. The trainer’s name is Gary.” “Gal! Galla-“ (Gary! You mean the trainer who-“) “Yes,” Lucas interrupted his Pokémon, “the very same.” He looked once more at the Pokéball he was holding. Inside of it was a Shedinja, another Ghost-type. “Gallade?” (So is that Faust?) Lucas shook his head. “No. The deal was that I’d pay him for the Reaper Cloth, but I’d have to hand over Faust so that he could make the preparations. Apparently he knows what he’s doing.” “Gal-gallade! Gallade!” (You handed over Faust to him like that. It could be a trick!) “Maybe. But that’s why I’m holding this Pokéball. It contains his Shedinja which he used for the trade for Faust. Rags clearly didn’t like the situation. This felt more like a hostage negotiation then a simple trade. Lucas felt his Pokémon’s uneasiness. “Relax, his Shedinja is just an assurance. Besides, if what they say about Gary is true then I don’t think we’d have anything to worry about.” And just as he said that, the machine to his side whirred on. “The trade is open.” The screen revealed that a Dusclops was to be traded. “Gallade?” (I thought he promised you Faust would have evolved?) Lucas didn’t respond. He didn’t know how to. He had no idea how the evolution was supposed to go down, and all he had was a verbal agreement and a promise. “Gallade.” (I don’t like this one bit.) Lucas again said nothing. He had no better course of action to take then to proceed with the trade as planned. He placed the Shedinja Pokéball in the slot, added 4 Rare Candies as compensation for the promised evolution, and then switched on the machine. With a zap the Pokéball and candies disappeared. Lucas and Rags waited for what felt like the longest time when a new Pokéball appeared with a second zap. “This should be it,” he nervously took the Pokéball and opened it… Trading the Shedinja back with 4 Rare Candies to Sandaa for my Dusclops with the Reaper Cloth for evolution. Thank you! *Trade Closed* Putting my new Dusknoir in the Ghost Ball Name: Faust Spoiler: show ----- Gifting 4 Rare Candies to Gemini Spark as a down payment. The red-haired man removed the USB drive from the laptop, stored his belongings in his old Bag and approached the hotel room's window. He opened it, then tossed a PokéBall outside, releasing its contents. Roaring, an ancient dragon materialized mid-air. "Abaddon," he whispered, "get us to Cloud Garden." Hopping out the window and onto the Aerodactyl's back, the man left no trace of his presence. Not even a name to track down, once the events he'd triggered came to fruition... .............................. OoC: Receiving Aerodactyl from myahoo. Thank you so much!

... COMPLETE. *Trade Close* ********** A third Fossil Pokemon?? This year was already starting off strong for Hyrem! Along with his already acquired Pokemon Dome and Quill, he watched as the Pokeball materialized on his end and couldn't wait another second to grasp it and open it up, revealing a odd looking creature with a brown shell and two tiny, black eyes, standing itself up slightly to show its four yellow claws and two glowing, red eyes sticking out from among the black over the rest of its body. "Well, this little guy looks kinda cute too," he said as he registered yet another Fossil Pokemon to his Pokedex: Kabuto, the Shellfish Pokemon, and the pre-evolved form of Kabutops. When this Pokemon was most common, it was a bottom feeder on the seafloor that hid from predators whenever the eyes on the back of its head spotted anything, relying on its hard shell to protect it. Unlike most Pokemon who lived in prehistoric times, Kabuto did not go completely extinct but became a very rare Pokemon to find alive, only seen in one specific place. The more common way to obtain one is by reviving one from a fossil, using special equipment. "So you're the Pokemon that evolves into Kabutops...that Pokemon the Trial Captain was using...really cool!" said Hyrem. "So, what do you two think of him- eh!?" Once again, his Cranidos and Archen were busy poking and prodding (and Headbutting) the new Pokemon, though the Kabuto could simply afford to hide in its shell and weather through it without taking much damage. "Haha, you two are something else! And your new friend is taking it like a champ!" Eventually, he decided to lift the trilobite up, and his stubby claws tried to reach out and grab the human's face. "You two be careful, he has type advantage over you, and once he gets Absorb he'll be able to take either of you apart, especially you Dome!" The Cranidos didn't respond, tilting his head as he recognized the name he was being called. "Anyway, you'll all probably find some way to get along with each other, so hopefully that happens sooner than later. As for you..." He looked to the Kabuto who was still trying to claw at his face and thought of a fitting name for that. "You just be nice, Face, and I'll get you some grubs later!" And with that, he walked out with all three Fossil Pokemon, ready to have his first real experiences with them.
