Dragonair Re: The Twilight Realm

Just a quick note regarding team stats. If you have your FB profile in your signature, can you please ensure you post it? Zones are the one place in FB where sigs don't need to be edited out of a post, so you're free to post it if you wish. If your profile isn't in your signature, then including a link to your Members List post at the end of your reply will be appreciated so that I have quick and easy reference to your team stats when I need them. Thanks.

Elyra Field - Please reply in lemonchiffon

bird1111: Concerned by the fact that Pidgey may have taken some damage that could prevent him from successfully pulling off a lot of flying attacks which will come in quite handy for this battle, you figure the only way to ensure this is an equal, if not advantageous, playing field for your teammate, is to strike Yanma where it hurts. Any flying type, including Pidgey, is going to have trouble battling if their wings are out of action, and so you instruct Pidgey to target Yanma's. Pidgey squawks his understanding, swooping in low and and striking Yanma with Tackle. The attack hits home, Yanma's thin left wing bending out of shape resulting in it hovering rather drunkenly while attempting to use its right wing to balance it out. This isn't too successful which makes Pidgey rather happy as he swoops back around to attack again. Yanma may be hurt, but it's not stupid, evading Pidgey's Tackle with its use of Quick Attack. The move is poorly carried out thanks to the damage its taken, but is effective enough for it to avoid taking damage to its good wing. Pidgey isn't about to give up, however, hovering just above the ground and flapping his wings wildly, whipping up dirt and grass that he sends hurtling at Yanma. Unfortunately Pidgey's Sand Attack isn't as effective against this little dragonfly as it would be against other Pokémon due to Yanma's Compound Eyes being able to raise its accuracy by about 30%, but it's still enough to make the little bugs eyes water. Abra starts bouncing up and down on your head, becoming rather excited by the results of the unfolding battle, and urging Pidgey on as the two flying types continue to fight it out...

Shadowshocker: Perseus is a Lv.100 fully trained male, and doesn't take up a slot on your team. Whatever is in his D/P Moveset (including Egg Moves, HMs, and TMs), he knows, but considering he's mainly being used for transport then you won't really need to refer to it very often. You can use him during battle when you feel you need to, but I'm sure you'd rather have your own pokes gain levels so the choice will be yours. And thank you, you're a pleasure to update ^-^

Loretta smiles, clearly relieved that the waiting is now over. "We won't waste any time then," she replies, speaking as casually as possible. "Walk with me, and we can figure out the small details once we're clear of here." Handing you one of the two saddle bags she's carrying, Loretta walks casually toward the track leading out of the ranch. You realise she's trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, and walk with her, listening while she talks.

"The moment we're out of sight we'll release our Rapidash, saddle them up, and head straight toward Atrea City. If we're going to have a cover story it'll need to be as simple and believable as possible. Perhaps we can say we're brother and sister and have travelled to Elyra from Fizzytopia. The Spirit Temple is in the desert so perhaps we can say we're sightseeing, are travelling the entire land in order to visit all areas of Elyra, and are currently on our way to the Spirit Temple to meet the High Priestess, Oriana. We don't have to go with this specific story, but it's simple enough and means that if we're ever questioned we won't be caught out with the smaller details that we'll need to remember with a more involved cover story. We still have time to think about that, though. For clothing, we'll need something that won't draw attention. Once again, simple is best. The desert is harsh, arid terrain, so we'll need something that will not only help to cloak our identities, but to protect us against the elements. I'd suggest plain, cool, clothing, with a cloak worn over top. Of course these are just first impressions that have popped to mind, so if you have any better ideas then feel free to suggest them."

By the time Loretta stops speaking you realise that you've already reached the trail leading out of the ranch and are out of sight of everyone within the grounds. "It's time to move," Loretta says, reaching for her belt and unclipping the new Fire Ball attached to it. A moment later, the most beautiful Rapidash you've ever seen materialises from the ball. Rather than the creamy body and orange red flame of a regular Rapidash, this angelic equine is pure white. A white torso, white mane, and sapphire blue eyes make this Rapidash stand out from any other, and you can't help but wonder why Loretta would choose such a lovely creature to travel upon when she'd specifically stated that she didn't want to attract attention. Loretta smiles meekly, as though reading your thoughts, and says simply, "Peg is the only Rapidash we have left who is capable of handling the terrain we need to cover." Though you're not quite sure you believe her considering the Laramie reputation, your gut instinct is telling you there is a reason she's chosen this particular Rapidash and that it's best not to question the issue. Loretta changes the subject quickly, clearly wanting to divert your attention from Peg for the time being. "Perseus is well trained and will obey your every instruction," she says, patting Perseus' nose affectionately. "He's fast, he's strong, and he's reliable. If we should ever be separated during our mission rest assured that he'll take good care of you, as I expect you will of him."

Several minutes later, after saddling up your horses and making your way out into Elyra Field, you can see the Atrea City gates in the distance when you notice some commotion up ahead. Loretta is immediately on guard, slowing Peg's pace from a gallop to a trot, her eyes glued to the figures before you. A man is standing beside a Drifblim, his hand supporting what appears to be an injured Persian who is laying in a rather strange position atop Drifblim's head. Two teenage boys who are approximately seventeen years of age are standing in front of him, and the three appear to be in the middle of a heated argument. When they spot you approaching, the teenagers stop talking, smiling up at you as though nothing is wrong, but their expressions soon change when Loretta stops right next to the third man and addresses him directly.

"Hi there, John," she says cheerfully, though her eyes are hard as her gaze falls upon the boys. "Is everything ok, my friend?" she asks, knowing full well that everything is far from alright judging from the expression on John's face. Upon hearing her words, the teenagers immediately reach for their Pokéballs, one releasing a Sandslash and the other a Mightyena. "What's it to you, chickadee?" one sneers. "You just be on your way and let us men finish our business." You wince, for you already know Loretta well enough to know that she's not going to take kindly to being addressed in such a rude fashion. Preparing yourself for the inevitable, you watch her closely, seeing her smile so sweetly that it makes your skin crawl. Sure enough, Loretta's reckless nature rises to the surface, and before you can do anything to stop her, she's on the ground, her face only inches from the boy who had spoken to her. "This little chickadee is going to crush your arse, honeybunch," she says, the menace in her tone creating an instant lump of fear in your heart...

S_M: Realising that Buneary's terror is due to the presence of your own Ariados, despite her normal size, you're quick to act by returning her before she can freak the little bunny out any further as the last thing you need is the frightened rabbit attracting the attention of the real threat. Ivysaur follows your instructions, releasing her Sleep inducing Powder and aiming it at Buneary, trying her best to concentrate it into the one area so as not to put you to sleep as well. Buneary's eyes begin to close, its terrified cries turning into less deafening squeaks and finally into wracking sobs before it falls asleep and starts to snore softly. With silence now filling the room, Ivysaur extends her vines, struggling to disentangle the little bunny from the gigantic web, eventually managing to free it and then passing it to you. While it rests soundly in your arms with the occasional sob breaking its otherwise peaceful sleep, Ivysaur turns her attention to the hatching Ariados egg and watches while Swellow releases a gust of Icy cold Wind that effectively freezes it and puts a temporary stop to the hatching process. She then turns to the remaining eggs and repeats her actions, ensuring a thin coat of frost is covering each and every one of them. Once Swellow is done, Ivysaur turns back to the Ariados web and blasts it with a Flamethrower following up quickly with an Icy Wind to ensure that nothing but the web is incinerated. With all of your immediate concerns now dealt with, you stand and listen, hearing nothing but the soft sound of your own breathing in the room. Nothing seems to be coming, which is a good thing, but who knows how long it will be before the thing that created that enormous web returns.

It is then that Buneary begins to stir, and with a wide yawn it opens its eyes, looking up into your face before leaping up with fright and looking around the room as though expecting to see its worst nightmare. All it sees, however, are two Pokémon as well as yourself, which calms it down a little. It still appears to be quite frightened and reaches out, tugging on your jeans and pointing toward the tunnel on the other side of the room. Considering you haven't been that way yet, you're not too sure you should be heading into it as the way you came in was most definitely clear which means that the Ariados inhabiting this room must have gone the way Buneary is pointing. It's adamant though, if not slightly hysterical, and quite clearly wants you to follow it. It looks up at you pleadingly, a look of utter desperation in its big brown eyes. Buneary obviously wants your help with something, but is following it really worth the risk to you and your team?

Incura Valley - Please reply in darkorange

Joshua: No matter how calm and collected John may appear on the outside, you know the man must be suffering on the inside which helps you to understand him a little better. His own children, along with those of his dead best friend, have not only been stolen, but are being used as slaves. He now finds himself in a position where he needs to put on a brave face not only for Elsa's sake, but yours as well, even though his inner turmoil must be tearing away at his seams. Though you cannot fully comprehend the pain he and Elsa are going through, your thoughts turn to Hayley and how you would feel if something were to ever happen to her, and you find yourself understanding on some level just how difficult, yet essential, this mission is to both of them. Though this is not your fight you know you can't leave them alone after having seen what Nadia is capable of, and resolve to see this through to the end no matter what. Stealing any living being, whether human or Pokémon, and using them in such an inhumane way, is a deplorable action which is why these Nightbringers need to be brought to justice. Taking John's words into consideration, you choose to have Shade accompany you should anything unexpected arise. Shade seems pleased to be free of his Pokéball, but the tension vibrating in the air tells him that whatever is happening is not only of a very serious nature, but of utmost importance. When Hayley takes off after Elsa and John, Shade drifts calmly along beside you, watchful of his surroundings.

Several minutes pass as you travel along the winding trail leading into Incura Valley. The Quondam Passé is, as John had previously warned, extremely rough and dangerous territory. You notice several young Pokémon, mainly Geodude, Rhyhorn, and Nidoran, wandering around the area while their parents watch from various vantage points on the cliffs above, but following Elsa and John's lead, are careful not to look directly at them, or to pass by too closely. One little male Nidoran appears particularly curious however, and eagerly runs up to Elsa's Tauros to check him out which results in Tauros rearing back and roaring quite loudly as it tries desperately to evade trampling the playful Pokémon. It is then that all hell breaks loose as Nidoran's parents misinterpret Tauros' actions as being hostile, and they barge down the mountainside to attack. John immediately turns and faces Nidoking, unclipping a Pokéball and tossing it forward to reveal a Metang, while Elsa throws a Pokéball of her own out, the Pokémon inside materialising into a Miltank. Miltank faces Nidoqueen, leaving you to decide which of your two travelling companions you're going to aide in this battle...

The plan, so far, had been progressing nicely. Loretta had been in perfect agreement with his proposal, and Shadow could find no objections to her follow-up suggestions in response. Though there was the problem of Peg possibly being too much of an eyecatcher, Shadow was sure they could somehow work this detail out when they had reached their immediate destination...

Or so he thought. As he watches Loretta switch to confrontation mode, Shadow can't help but grimace inwardly. Why couldn't anything go right the first time?

Bringing out his PokeDex, Shadow briefly scans in the information for the Pokemon species he had yet seen on his journey, just in case. From what he could observe, there was a harassment situation at hand, involving one of Loretta's acquaintances, him being on the shorter end of the proverbial stick. Confrontation seemed unavoidable, but there was the urgency of the original rescue mission... Shadow tensed. Though they stood a good chance of victory if battling occured, rescuing Andromeda from her captors took obvious precedence. He would have to resort to a diplomatic approach, a method he had never felt confident in -- but in this case, what choice did he have?

"Alright, everyone!" he declares as he dismounts. "I'm sure we can settle this quickly if we just calm down and talk it over." Facing the two adolescents, Shadow begins to talk.

"Excuse us for interrupting, but we'd just like to verify what business it is you happen to have with... John, is it? Unless it happens to be dire, I'm afraid it'll have to wait. I'm sure you've noticed that he's got a critically injured Pokemon at hand which requires rapid medical attention," he points out. "If you insist on badgering him, I think you ought to know that you'll have to get through our fully trained steeds first, amongst other operatives we have on our squad."

Inside, Shadow's brain was in a right tizzy, though he didn't show it. Diplomacy had never been his strong suit; what would happen now?...

Bird watches as Pidgey succeeds at knocking one of Yanma’s out of action with his first attack, and grins, knowing that flying should be harder for Yanma, which means that Pidgey should have the speed advantage when Yanma isn’t using Quick Attack. He is slightly annoyed when Yanma dodges the second Tackle, but is satisfied knowing that at least one of Yanma’s wings is non-functional. He feels stupid when seeing how ineffective the Sand-Attack was, he should have seen that coming. Oh well, at least even if not everything he ordered worked, he still got the advantage he was trying for, the broken wing should make flying harder for Yanma. And since flying is Yanma’s primary form of movement, Pidgey should easily gain a speed advantage.

Figuring that he’s done enough of evening out the battlefield for now at least, Bird decides to press his advantage. Therefore he calls out to Pidgey, “Pidgey, Tackle Yanma, then Tackle it again! Finish up with a Fly!"

Buneary obviously wants your help with something, but is following it really worth the risk to you and your team?
Watching as Ivysaur begins to carry out her commands, a translucent cloud of sparkling powder floating across the chamber and surrouding Buneary, fillings its nostrils as it penetrates Buneary's outer defenses, forcing its breathing to steadily slow as its eyelids become heavier and heavier, falling into a deep slumber in the web. Smiling at its success, and even moreso at being rid of the discordant noise, Ivysaur extends its vines, wrapping around the small brown rabbit Pokemon and pulling it from the sticky web, lifting it into the air and passing it to Stephen, who opens his arms to it and holds the slumbering normal type.

Meanwhile, Swellow is working to take out the immediate threats of baby killer spiders of doom. Its wings begin to glow a cerulean blue as she beats the air, the water molecules freezing in midair as a cloud of freezing ice energy flies toward the wobbling egg. As the wind makes contact, a thin layer of ice covers the egg, which stops moving, its hatching process having been interupted, and not a moment too soon. Swellow then turns to the other eggs, repeating the process and leaving a group of large, frost covered green Ariados eggs sitting on the floor, as if made of a green crystal such as emerald.

Smirking somewhat at her next order, Swellow opens her beak wide before a thin jet of flame bursts forth. The flame strikes the giant Ariados' web, and the web bursts into flame at the point where the flames make contact. The flames quickly spread through the thin material, radiating outward from the central ignition spot. Stephen bites his lip for a moment as it appears as though the flames are about to reach one of the beds, though his fears are displaced as Swellow repeats her Icy Wind maneuver, the flames disappearing as quickly as the pyromanic swallow had conjured them.

As the crackle of the flames die, the room quiets, the only sounds audible are those of Stephen's, Swellow's, Ivysaur's, and Buneary's breathing. Looking around as to wonder where to go next, Stephen moves to walk back out the way he came. However, at that moment, Buneary begins to stir, and Stephen places it on the ground as it comes to. It looks around the room furiously with eyes full of terror, but soon calms down as it sees that no Ariados are ready to rip its head off and feed on its innards. However, Buneary begins to tug on Stephen's jeans, pointing toward the opposite tunnel. Noting that he had not seen an Ariados on his way down, Stephen realizes that the Ariados must be down that way.

But was it worth it? Stephen's mind flashes back to the vision of the horribly mutilated Persian, who had survived certain death only because of a thorough pummeling by Dragonite of the Ariados threat. But then again, what lies at the end of the tunnel? What reason could Buneary possibly have for wanting to go after the Ariados, especially with the fear it had had of merely laying eyes on Stephen's normal sized Ariados?

Pondering for a moment, Stephen nods. Stephen turns toward Ivysaur and Swellow, saying, "Let's go." Swellow gives a slightly skeptical look, having seen one of the giants already, though regretfully nods. Having not seen an Ariados before, Ivysaur nods happily, as if wondering why they already aren't down the tunnel. "Lead the way, Buneary."

Just as Blastoise unleashes the powerful burst of water from his cannons, Alakazam's foot slams into its belly, his Mega Kick sending Blastoise flying backward and crashing into the cliffside. The impact results in loose rocks falling down the mountainside, but luckily doesn't cause anything too catastrophic though Blastoise's trainer doesn't seem to think so. "Aaargh! How DARE you!" he screams, his voice gaining a slightly hysterical tone. "Get up and FIGHT you stupid LUMP!" he yells at Blastoise, not appearing to realise that it's his own attack orders that are losing his Pokémon its battle. "Water Pulse it NOW!" Blastoise stares at its trainer, a look of guilt on its face for having failed to hit its opponent yet, and struggles to its feet. It looks to be in a bit of pain after that last hit, but it's still obeying its trainer and stares hard at Alakazam before spitting out a stream of water containing supersonic waves. Alakazam is ready for it though, Teleporting out of the Water Pulses attack path and reappearing once again right in front of Blastoise whose eyes bulge with surprise when witnessing Alakazam's hand surrounded in a pinkish coloured glow. A split second later Alakazam makes his move, lashing out with Psycho Cut and slashing Blastoise across its belly, Alakazam's claws and Twistedspoon digging in and cutting Blastoise quite deeply. Blastoise doubles over, an agonised bellow once again echoing across the mountainside. The trainer stomps his foot like a spoiled two year old. "Gar!" he yells, throwing a tantrum which you'd find quite hilarious if it weren't for the fact this is no laughing matter. "Use two Hydro Pumps, Blastoise!" he rages hysterically. "NOW!"
Inferno can't believe how stupid this trainer is. His Pokemon is in pain and he can't even help it make good attack choices. He sighs. He doesn't want to hurt Blastoise any more. It's not its fault its trainer is dumb and for the first time ever Inferno wishes he could catch it so he can teach it how to fight properly. He doesn't hate water Pokemon, but fire Pokemon are heaps better, and even if he could talk the trainer into letting him have Blastoise it won't be able to happen because catching evolved Pokemon isn't allowed. Trading isn't though. He'll have to read his rule book again to find out if trades are allowed outside of the Cable Club.

"Keep Blastoise still with Thunder Wave, Alakazam. If it gets free, knock it out with Thunder." Inferno says to his Pokemon. He glares at the trainer. "I can win this battle now if I want to but I feel too sorry for your Blastoise. It's a water type so it already knows how to use water attacks. It needs you to teach it how to fight but you can't even do that properly." Inferno points at Rhydon. "Training it against Pokemon like Rhydon doesn't teach it how to fight. It teaches it how to torture and that isn't fair. I could have used my Raichu to toast Blastoise but I used Alakazam to show you that you don't have to fight a weaker Pokemon to win. If you want to keep fighting I will win this battle." Inferno stops talking and waits to see what the trainer will do.

Arnold: Arriving amidst the hustle and bustle of the thriving Elyra Port, you wonder how a land as highly populated as this could have remained off the radar for so long. Though Elyra is a popular tourist destination, it has only in recent months been attracting more than the usual number of travellers. All that aside, today is an excellent day to have begun your new adventure. The sun is shining strong, and the salty sea air drifting in from the open ocean has a pleasant feel to it. The cries of Wingull and Pelipper can be heard all around, some circling overhead waiting for a chance to steal their favourite treats from one of the many stalls on the docks selling freshly caught seafood while the more daring risk being crushed in the crowd to scavenge for titbits dropped by careless merchants and customers. While there are several places to visit in the port area, you're more interested in what lays beyond the entry point to Elyra, and scan the area for a map. Eventually finding one, you take some time to peruse the area descriptions while Espy sits silently by your side, also looking at the map though not really understanding what all of the strange symbols on it mean. Finally deciding that the Forest of Mystery sounds, well, mysterious, you begin walking out of Elyra Port, wondering what adventures await you.

Several minutes later you emerge into a large expanse of open plains. Already having an idea that Elyra Field will be huge, its sheer size causes you to take a moment to reflect upon your preconceptions. The field is beyond massive, and as Elyra's central hub of activity, highly populated. You only now realise it will take a good half day to reach the forest, but in the meantime there is no harm in enjoying a stroll through the field. Men, women, children, and Pokémon roam the vast acreage. Families are picnicking everywhere, trainers are engaging in friendly battles, couples are strolling hand in hand, travellers are referring to maps or asking for directions from the locals. In the distance you see two enormous mountains, one with steam wafting from its peak creating the faint outline of a smoky ring hovering in the air above it, the other seeming to be surrounded by an icy haze. These are of little interest to you however, as it's the dense shadow of the Forest of Mystery to your right which has caught your eye. While Espy walks regally by your side, her head held high as the admiring gaze of curious onlookers fall upon her, you can't help but feel proud to have such a beautiful Pokémon by your side. Judging from the looks she is receiving you figure that her kind must be a rarity in these parts which leads you to wonder what kind of Pokémon do inhabit Elyra.

Continuing your journey toward the forest, you're soon approached by a girl of around nineteen. She is tall, standing at around 5'11". Her slim build, waist length black hair, fair complexion, and large violet eyes creating a rather attractive package indeed. Her gaze flicks between you and Espy for a few seconds before she finally begins speaking.

"I'm sorry to intrude," she says shyly, already looking like she's regretting having started a conversation. "But I couldn't help but notice your lovely Espeon and am wondering if it's ok to ask you a few questions."

The girl looks like she's about to explode with embarrassment as a blush creeps into her cheeks. You can tell from her demeanour that it's out of character for her to approach a stranger out of the blue like this, but for some reason she feels compelled to speak to you and so you give her a moment to explain.

"I train Eevee's you see," she continues, her hand reaching nervously toward her belt to which several custom Pokéballs are attached. "All but two have reached their final stage, but Lila, who is to become an Espeon, seems to be having some trouble. She's so sad, and I can't understand why she's so unhappy. I'm hoping that if she can see your Espeon, perhaps they can talk for a while and we may be able to figure out what is upsetting her so."

The girl then bites her lip nervously, almost as though she's expecting you to tell her to get lost, her large, sad eyes looking deeply into yours with such anxiety that you can't help but feel for her...
Smiling as he meets the young girl he notices her eying Espy, feeling a bit uneasy he stands back a little bit until she starts to explain her dilemma, listening in carefully he smiles knowing that she's jsut a Trainer in need of some help, upon hearing that she has a unhappy Eevee he looks down at Espy and pats her head gently, the Lavander cat purring and walking around him carefully as the girl finishes her story.

As she asks for his help he smiles happily at her, "I'd be glad to help you, I wouldn't be a decent trainer if I didn't help anyone in need from time to time, me and Espy would be happy to help and I think I've got someone else who wouldn't mind helping, my newest member of my team and another Eeveelution, Lilly," As he finishes he takes a green coloured Pokeball from his belt, enlarging it he throws itinto the air as Lilly his Leafeon emerges into the crisp fresh air of Elyra Fields, ass he sans the area she notices Espy and instantly trots up to her and starts tickling Espy with her leafy tail. "As I say this is Lilly, my Leafeon, with two Eeveelutions, on my team I hope we can help out your little Eevee, see what the problem is shall we?"

More concerned with the wellbeing of the old lady than with the thieving boy and his Rattata, you're quick to approach her to see if she's alright. Kneeling down next to her, you ask if she's ok, but when she looks up you can't help but wonder if you've made the right decision. The look in her eyes as her gaze falls upon Alice and Bobble is enough to make your skin crawl, and even your Pokémon can sense that something isn't right about her. They both back away a few paces, and you can hear their thoughts simultaneously entering your mind. "Don't trust her," they're saying. "We must leave her alone, get as far away from her as possible. She's evil, and we're all in danger!" The woman looks up at you, and something tells you that she's aware of the fact your Pokémon are communicating with you. She may not be able to hear what they're saying, but the gleam in her eye is enough for you to know she's trying to gauge your feelings from your facial expression. Though old, her skin is much more wrinkled than you'd expect. Her hair is scraggly and gray, while her eyes are as black as a Murkrow. She seems more like an old crone than an old woman, her black dress, black stockings, black boots, and pointed black hat giving you an odd mental image of her hopping onto a broomstick with a black Persian riding along with her while she flies across the night sky as a silhouette in front of a full moon with her cackle drifting through the still night air. The woman appears to be aware of you scrutinising her appearance, and immediately allows the gleam in her eyes to soften. "Oh yes!" she replies in answer to your question. "The little scoundrel gave me a bit of a fright, that's all. Thank you for coming to the aid of a poor old woman, dearie. You truly are a little treasure, aren't you?" As she says this, her eyes move to Alice, and you have the strangest feeling that she's not referring to you as being the treasure. She gets to her feet, leaning heavily upon you while she does so. "Please let me thank you for helping me," she continues. "My house is not far from here, and there's something I'd like to give you as my way of saying thank you." Bobble and Alice are definitely not open to this idea. "NO!" they both shout, their telepathic cries bursting into your head in an explosion of protest. "We have to get away from her! Please, let's go!"
OOC - ZOMG yes. OoT is amazing. <333 *is a recently obsessed Zelda fan 83* (I even made a music video using cutscenes from the game. ^^; ) Have you played Majora's Mask?

As Jessica approached the old lady, she felt a sudden feeling of regret about her decision wash over her as the woman looked up at her swiftly in response to her question. Her pitch-black eyes flashed briefly with an indeterminable hue as soon as they beheld the two creatures standing beside the girl, and those recipients of her forbidding gaze backed away slowly, discerning that something wasn't quite right about this situation. The sudden variation in the woman's atmosphere was so dramatic that it made Jess's skin crawl, and she felt vaguely unsettled all of a sudden. She was forced to take in the woman's outward appearance a second time to confirm an incentive towards her suspicion, and this time she found the woman's visage appeared much more wrinkled and unsightly than Jess had expected. Aside from that, the woman's garb consisted of a black dress, stockings, boots, and an outlandish pointed black hat Jessica was amazed she didn't notice right away, considering the timeless and notorious fashion it was often associated with. (A vision suddenly played in Jess's mind of the woman hopping onto a broomstick with a black Persian and flying across the night sky, cackling evilly as her silhouette passed before the full moon.)

She could hear Alice and Bobble’s thoughts both simultaneously impressing on her mind: Do not trust her. We must leave her alone; get as far away from her as possible. She's evil, and we're all in danger! She hesitated however, uncertain whether she should simply just run away. She trusted in her Pokémon's instinct, yet an openly obvious escape didn't sound like a sensible course of action at the moment after she had displayed such concern towards the enemy. Thus she lingered, however her attention was now arrested by the hag's sinister appearance, now suddenly wary if she was able to tell that Jess's Pokémon were communicating telepathically with her. Something about the woman's manner informed Jess that she was indeed aware of their conversation, although thankfully she seemed unable to listen in, judging by the way the woman's eye seemed to question the girl's expressions. Jessica quickly allowed herself to relax, putting on an impassive mask which she hoped the woman would unsuspectingly perceive as a clear depiction of innocence.

The woman, sensing that the girl was similarly studying her appearance, quickly modified her manner again, smiling broadly at Jess. "Oh, yes!" she replied hastily in answer to her question. "The little scoundrel gave me a bit of a fright, that's all. Thank you for coming to the aid of a poor old woman, dearie. You truly are a little treasure, aren't you?"

As she murmured the last sentence soothingly, her eyes slid towards Alice, who anxiously shrank away from the woman's overpowering gaze. Bobble stepped daringly in front of his teammate, his equally fierce stare momentarily obscured by his dark glasses. Jessica conveyed a brief mental warning to him, careful not to take her eyes off the old woman. He yielded begrudgingly, however he remained situated in between Alice and the suspicious woman.

As the woman slowly began to stagger to her feet, Jess obligingly offered her arm, which the lady leaned on heavily for support. "Please let me thank you for helping me," she continued after she'd steadied herself. "My house is not far from here, and there's something I'd like to give you as my way of saying thank you."

Before Jess could answer, her Pokémon’s simultaneous responses immediately resounded inside her head. NO! they both cried emphatically. We have to get away from her! Please, let's go! Jessica winced visibly from the forcefulness of their reply, still unused to such close forms of communication. She quickly recovered herself though, not wanting to betray any hint of their conversation to the woman, who still regarded her with a curious look cleverly masked by kindheartedness.

Jessica knew she needed to speak up quickly in order to escape the situation. "I’m glad to see you’re all right, " she faltered. "But actually, we have to be going somewhere soon. We were just about to leave when we heard you scream…" She hesitated. Despite her inclination towards escaping as soon as possible, her innate compassion still won over her actions. "I'd be happy to walk you back to your house if you need any assistance. However, thanks aren't necessary. Thank you very much for the offer, but we really have to be on our way as soon as possible."

To emphasize her point in hopes that the lady would hurriedly release them from her company, Jess bent down and scooped up Alice and Bobble, prepared to make a fast getaway from the scene as soon as possible. Anxiously she awaited the old woman's answer, clutching her terrified Pokémon tightly to her.

He takes his role in this mission very seriously, as Skarmory has been a member of your team for even longer than he has. The two had grown and trained together, becoming the best of friends as your team grew, their shared flying typing solidifying a friendship so that it was stronger than that of most of your other teammates. Crobat had been there at the beginning, and will be there to the end, and has no intention of allowing anyone near him or Skarmory before they can make their escape. Yanmega looks nervous, but considering the circumstances, that's not all too surprising. Having to protect his trainer, teammates, and a couple of strangers on his own against a force of power that seems out of this world would be a daunting task for any Pokémon, but the fact he's been trusted with such a mission gives him the mental psych boost and confidence he needs in order to help keep his calm as he carries out his instructions. He turns to face Dragonite and its trainer, and though the very sight of Dragonite is intimidating at best, he successfully manages send quite a powerful Whirlwind careening toward the approaching duo. Dragonite is caught up in the strong currents and temporarily loses control giving Yanmega the opening he needs to shock them with a Sonicboom. The dark man very nearly falls, but grabs on tightly to Dragonite who struggles to right himself within the strong air currents that are tossing him around. By the time Dragonite has regained control, there are four Yanmega surrounding him thanks to the bug type's use of Double Team, and Crobat and Fearow are fleeing into the distance. It's utterly enraged by Yanmega's assault and opens its mouth wide, sending a Hyper Beam shooting out across the sky. The powerful charge rips right through one of Yanmega's clones, continuing on to shoot right in between both Fearow and Crobat. People on the ground are watching the battle, awestruck by the spectacle they are witnessing while Yanmega continues to try distracting Dragonite. The dark man lifts his finger and points it at Yanmega, the frighteningly familiar purple beam shooting out and destroying yet another of Yanmega's clones. This time Yanmega was lucky, but with only one clone left, next time he may not get off quite so easily...
Never during his time as a trainer has Xander found himself in a situation where he thought he didn't stand a fighting chance, until now. The odds are against him, and no matter which way he looks at it he can't find a way out of this. They're hundreds of feet above Elyra Field, the skies are clear, and there is nowhere to hide. Yanmega is strong, but doesn't have the training needed to defeat Dragonite given the circumstances. Physical contact will be suicide, so he'll need to attack from afar. Of all of his Pokemon Skarmory is the one Xander has always relied upon in times of need and now when Skarmory is needed more than ever, Xander's most trusted friend is incapable of coming to his rescue. Rage and frustration are dangerous emotions to be carrying when the cost are the lives of your friends, so he blocks them out and concentrates on what needs to be done.

The sizzling charge of energy from Dragonite's Hyper Beam shooting past him alerts Xander to Yanmega's plight, and the dire straits they're all in, but also provides him with a momentary sense of hope. Dragonite will need time to recover from the attack which may give them the time they need to put some distance between themselves and Dragonite. If they can gain enough ground, they may be able to hide.

"Stop for nothing, Crobat!" Xander calls to his friend. "You need to keep moving too, Fearow. Stay close to Crobat, and no matter what happens, keep searching for Zeppelin Village. If you spot it, you're both going to need to find a way of alerting its residents to the danger because we can't lead that man and Dragonite straight to them." Turning around, Xander is surprised to see how much distance is standing between them and Yanmega. He can't leave his friend behind to fight while they flee, but he also can't afford to leave them unprotected. "Yanmega!" he shouts, hoping his friend can hear him. "Dragonite will be powerless for a few moments while he recharges! Use Flash to blind him, Supersonic to confuse him, and Signal Beam to weaken him, then catch up with us! We need to lose them, my friend! Attack now, while you have time!"

Dragonair Re: The Twilight Realm

Please note that the following people have been released from my group in the Twilight Realm due to inactivity. Dark Fire, Dragon 11, Eon, Jamil, John's Knight, Slick Rick & Will. For an up-to-date list of active and inactive members for all TR updators, please see here. If you return and wish to continue your adventure you'll need to contact your previous updator. If they're willing to take you back into their group that's their choice to make as they may have already filled their specific quota and can't take more members. If not, you'll need to restart your adventure with an updator who does have space for more people. Additionally, this zone is not currently capped as I'll be taking on any overflow that ZA's can't or don't want to handle. I can't guarantee regular updates Monday to Friday, but I'll do my utmost to keep them coming, particularly on weekends. Right now, for those of you who are replying, let's keep them rolling in!

Elyra Field - Please reply in lemonchiffon

Arnold: Wanting to put the girl's awkwardness to rest, you're quick to agree to help her, releasing Lily who immediately begins playing affectionately with Espy. The girl's previously embarrassed expression turns to one of delight upon hearing your response, a smile lighting up her face. "Thank you so much," she says with genuine sincerity. "My name is Violet, and this," she says, reaching for her belt and unclipping a red and white Pokéball before releasing a cute little brown Eevee, "is Lila." Lila looks up curiously, her big brown eyes filled with a sadness that would make the heart of any person melt. She looks at Lily and Espy, her gaze faltering upon seeing your lavendar psychic kitty, and sits down, watching the two playing happily together. Violet sighs upon seeing Lila's reaction, her eyes once again clouding with uncertainty. "I don't know what to do to make her happy," Violet says, tears springing to her eyes while she watches Lila. "I give her all of the love and affection in the world, but no matter how much we share, she's never happy, and it pains me to see her so sad all of the time." Violet bends down, cuddling Lila who seems to enjoy the attention her trainer is giving her, but is unable to express it.

Espy is also watching the exchange between the two of them, and walks up to Lila, rubbing her head against the little Eevee's cheek. Lila licks Espy's head affectionately which shows she's definitely a friendly little thing, but the sadness in her eyes doesn't disappear. If anything, she appears to be even more upset than before, especially upon witnessing the longing expression in her trainer's eyes when they fall upon Espy. Lila looks to the ground, apparently having no interest in playing with Espy and Lily, which only upsets Violet even more. She looks up at you, a helpless expression on her face as you see for yourself just how unhappy her little Eevee is. "It seems Espy can't help after all," she says resignedly. "If Lila isn't willing to talk to her, there's no way of knowing what it is that's upsetting her." Violet stands up, looking at you sadly. "Thank you for trying, but it seems pointless. Perhaps if I let Lila walk with me on our travels she'll start to open up a bit more. I'm heading toward the forest as I've heard it's a beautiful place to visit. Perhaps the serenity there will help her." Violet scratches Lila's head affectionately. "Will you like that, Lila?" she asks, to which Lila nods slightly, her eyes moving toward the forest in which her trainer plans to travel. "I hope we'll see you again one day," she says to you, reaching down to give both Espy and Lily an affectionate pat. "And maybe when we do, Lila will be feeling a lot happier." With that, Violet says her farewells, and starts walking toward the forest while Lila walks slowly along beside her, hanging her head while looking sadly at the ground...

bird1111: Just a quick note regarding Pidgey's level. He should be Lv.6 now, after gaining one from here.

Pleased to see that your plan was at least partially successful, you figure the best way to proceed is to press your advantage. Yanma's speed and basic movement in general is going to be hampered somewhat due to its injured wing, so Pidgey uses this and dives in for a Tackle, pelting the little dragonfly hard and knocking it off balance. Yanma retaliates with a poorly executed Quick Attack, but still manages to hit Pidgey albeit not very hard. Pidgey reacts by swooping back around and ramming Yanma with another Tackle, his attack bending Yanma's already injured wing out of shape even more. Following up his attack by taking to the sky, Pidgey circles overhead while Yanma tries to chase him. Unfortunately Yanma just doesn't have the strength in its injured wing in order to gain the height it needs, and ends up a sitting duck for Pidgey who dives from the sky and attacks the little bug/flying type with Fly. The flying energy takes its toll on Yanma's health which, in combination with its injury, is tiring it out very quickly. You can tell it won't take much more in order to defeat it, but just as you're mulling over Pidgey's next attack orders a Pokéball shoots past your shoulder. Shocked, you watch while Yanma is sucked inside the Pokéball before the red and white orb drops to the ground and starts wobbling frantically. Once, twice, three times, Yanma is putting up quite the struggle. Four times, five, six, before it finally stops shaking, it's capture light turning green. You then hear a victory yell from behind you, a boy's voice shouting enthusiastically, Yes! I caught it!" A moment later a boy no more than six years old races past you and picks up the ball. "I just got my first Pokémon," he says, a sly grin on his face as he knows full well that Yanma wasn't his Pokémon to catch. He then stares up at you, as though challenging you to argue the point...

Shadowshocker: Feeling this isn't the right time to be getting involved in a brawl, you're quick to make an attempt at dealing with the situation as diplomatically as possible. Considering Loretta has already inflamed the situation, this may not be an easy task, but you have to at least try for her sake as well as your own. Loretta is clearly the kind of girl who will recklessly leap into the path of danger for those she cares for, and regardless of how skilled a trainer she is, you realise it's not going to be an easy task trying to keep her emotions in check during your journey. Facing the two adolescents, you calmly inform them of matters that should be quite obvious. Both you and Loretta have fully trained Rapidash as well as other Pokémon at your disposal who can quite easily take out their Pokémon, and that unless they have a pressing issue at hand then its best they allow you, Loretta, and John to move on in order to seek immediate medical attention for John's injured feline. Both boys eye Peg and Perseus warily before their gaze moves to the Pokéballs attached to both yours and Loretta's belts. They know you're not bluffing, and though for the first several seconds an unbridled tension fills the air, they both eventually back down.

"Alright," says the boy who had initially insulted Loretta. He sneers at her, a dark expression entering his eyes before he turns to John. "You go get your cat looked at, and we can pick this up later." With that, both boys return their respective Pokémon to their Pokeballs before turning around and stalking off into Elyra Field. With a sigh of relief you turn to face Loretta only to find her bending over Drifblim, gently examining the injured Persian. She's visibly distressed by the damage that has been inflicted to the poor kitty, and when her eyes turn toward the retreating boys with an expression of sheer and utter vengeance, you can't help but think she's about to take off after them. John appears to be thinking along the same lines as you, and quickly restrains her, placing his hand gently on Loretta's shoulder.

"It wasn't them," he says gently, his words calming her down somewhat. "They were more interested in Gus," he continues, his eyes flicking toward Drifblim. "If you hadn't shown up when you did, I don't know what would have happened." Turning to you, John reaches out to shake your hand. "Thank you for handling the situation so well," he says gratefully. "They're a strange pair, and for a minute there I thought they were going to deck you for interfering. Shows they have at least some sense, knowing when to back down from a losing battle." Addressing both of you next, John asks if there's anything he can do for you in return for helping him, after which Loretta gives him a brief rundown of recent events. He frowns, not appearing too pleased with the fact that you're tracking down the thieves on your own. "That's dangerous territory, Loretta," he says, clearly concerned for her safety. "But I've known you since you were a baby, and I know that when you set your mind to something there's nothing to be done to stop you. When you reach Atrea, go to the Astral Library and ask for Owen. He's a little eccentric, but he knows what he's talking about. He'll be able to provide you with maps and resources that aren't available to most folk visiting the library, and may just have some idea of where an organisation like the one you're talking about can be hiding."

Turning to you next, John appears curious. "Regarding this cover story of yours, son. If you two do become separated, or questioned at any time during your mission, you're both going to need a little more background information than, 'We've come from Fizzytopia'. Fizzytopia is a large continent, and if you say you're from Seaside City, while Loretta says she's from Glacier City, your cover will be blown. Tell us about yourself while we finish our trek to Atrea. Where you grew up, where you met your starter Pokemon, why you've decided to visit Elyra. Siblings will know these details about one another, so your stories need to match. Hopefully by the time we get there, we'll have this cover of yours down pat."

Xander: Taking advantage of the fact that Dragonite will need to recharge its energy after using Hyper Beam, you turn back to find that Yanmega has managed to allow you the chance to put more distance between you and the dark man than you'd first thought. Knowing you need to escape, yet not willing to sacrifice Yanmega in the process, you call out your instructions and pray that he'll hear you. Luckily Pokémon have very good hearing, and Yanmega easily picks up the sound of your voice, following his instructions to the letter. A blinding light Flashes in the sky, the sheer brilliance of it succeeding in blinding Dragonite and his trainer who had both been unprepared for it. The dark man points his finger in the direction he'd last seen Yanmega, but due to luck alone his target happens to be Yanmega's last remaining clone which disintegrates as the fatal purple beam of mysterious energy shoots through it. Knowing time is of the essence, Yanmega opens his mouth wide and releases a high pitched scream, his Supersonic causing havoc with Dragonite's sensitive hearing and confusing it. Blind and befuddled, Dragonite unleashes a freezing cold blast of Icy Wind that washes over Yanmega sending a shiver through him. With a light coating of frost covering him, Yanmega is in a bit of trouble, but it doesn't stop him from following up his last attack by sending a Signal Beam Dragonite's way. The bug energy doesn't do much damage to the dragon type, but Yanmega has managed to slow them down and turns around to follow you. Pleased to see that everything has gone to plan, and that Yanmega is slowly catching up, you look forward, ready to scan the land for a place to take cover before Dragonite and its trainer recover their momentary loss of vision, but the sight that greets you has a knot of fear forming in your stomach. Heading toward you are a Pidgeot, Fearow, Charizard, and Altaria, each carrying trainers who all appear to be focused upon you and your Pokémon...

lilbluecorsola: Of course. I've played MM about 4 times over as opposed to OoT about 16 or 17, if not more xfd. Unfortunately my N64 system is screwed now but Arn, being the adorable man that he is *huggles him*, bought me another one. Then I discovered that my cartridges are damaged so can no longer play them along with a few of my other favourite N64 games. Managed to get hold of another copy of OoT, but for some strange reason it doesn't save *sigh* Guess I'll just have to become a Master Quest junkie ;-;

Trusting completely in the instincts of your Pokémon, you can't help but regret the decision you had made to help the old woman. If she is indeed the "bad guy", then what does that make the boy who had stolen something from her? Could he have been a rea thief, could he have been stealing something back from her, or could there be another explanation for why he had targeted this particular woman? Considering you'd let him escape by choosing to check on her wellbeing, an action that any kindhearted person would have chosen, this may be a question you'll never have answered. All of this aside, you know you need to escape this woman's clutches but your innate sense of compassion overwhelms your sense of logical reasoning and you offer to walk her back to her house before continuing on your current path. This is all she needs to hear from you which gives her just the opening she is looking for. "Oh, thank you sweetie," she cries happily which makes your heart sink as you realise you've now lost your immediate escape path. "You're such a sweet girl, offering to help an old lady. Please, come with me." Not even waiting for you to reply, she hooks her arm into yours and starts walking back into Atrea City.

Several minutes later you're walking through the residential area of Atrea City known as the Royal Close. The white cobblestone streets and luxurious mansions on Princeton Drive give the area an affluent appearance which makes you wonder if this is why Atrea City is known as the "City of Fortune". You have a feeling the tortured house is where she's leading you, a suspicion that is soon confirmed when she opens its squeaking, rickety, gate and speaks again. "Here we are, lovey!" she says a little too enthusiastically for your liking. "You must come inside for a nice cup of iced tea before you leave. It's the least I can do to thank you for all you've done for me today."

S_M: Though you're not sure that following Buneary down the tunnel that will surely lead you toward the gigantic, mutated Ariados, is the safest course of action to be taking, you can't help but wonder why the little bunny is so eager to go that way considering it's obvious state of terror when it saw your own normal sized arachnid. Swellow is equally as reluctant as you seeing as she's already witnessed what these things can do, but Ivysaur doesn't see any harm in it since she has absolutely no idea at all of the kind of danger she'll be facing. Nevertheless, Buneary is adamant about going this way which leads you to believe it must have a good reason. After agreeing to accompany it, Buneary eagerly starts hopping toward the tunnel, and after two uneventful hours of travel you find yourself standing at the base of a ladder leading back up into the forest. Buneary points up, and you know it wants you to climb the ladder, so after Ivysaur hitches a ride up with Swellow, you allow Buneary to cling to your back while you ascend into the unknown.

The sight that greets you is far from pleasant, and as you look around the deserted village you've emerged into a lump of fear is slowly forming in your gut. Enormous spider webs are covering every single hut in the village, while even more are hanging from the trees above. The remains of dozens of oversized hatched Spinarak eggs are littering the ground, but the most eerie part of it all is the complete and utter silence in the area. No birds are singing in the trees, not even a twitter breaking the silence. No bushes are rustling with Pokémon life, and no humans are in sight. Buneary hops to the ground and clings to your leg, quivering uncontrollably with fear while its big brown eyes fill with tears. Swellow and Ivysaur are worried, each giving you that, "We have to get out of here now" look before Buneary suddenly breaks into a run, bounding across the clearing and racing into one of the web covered huts leaving you wondering if you should follow it or get the hell out of here as quickly as humanly possible...

Inferno: Though water types are far from your favourite as far as Pokémon are concerned, this trainer's complete lack of competence is causing you to feel so sorry for Blastoise that you find yourself wishing you could train it yourself. Knowing this isn't an option, especially in this particular case, you instead decide to put an end to the battle and try to reason with the boy. Alakazam binds Blastoise with dozens of small jolts of electricity, his Thunder Wave ensuring the large turtle Pokémon is unable to attack. Even this has you feeling guilty, as it's obvious that Blastoise is suffering, but if the trainer agrees to end the battle now then at least Blastoise won't need to suffer for long. Unfortunately your actions, as well as your words, have only succeeded in making the boy even more hysterical which is not the outcome you were hoping for.

"FAIR!" the boy rages. "Don't you tell me what's fair! Look at what you're doing to my Pokémon! You're telling me I don't know how to train, and YOU'RE the one wimping out of the battle! You're a loser, and you're going to pay! Blastoise, HYDRO PUMP NOW!"

Sighing, you realise you're not going to be able to get through to someone as thick headed as this, and nod at Alakazam who sends a massive burst of electricity skyward. Both the trainer and Blastoise watch in shock as the Thunderous attack comes shooting back down, and you can't help but feel pity for Blastoise as the attack strikes him in the chest, KOing him instantly.

"AAAAARGH!" the trainer yells angrily, kicking Blastoise's limp body. "This stupid thing can't even win a simple battle against an idiot trainer and his stupid Pokémon! You're useless, but I'll make you stronger!" He then returns Blastoise to its Pokéball before turning to you. For a moment you're convinced he's going to leap on top of you and start beating you senseless, but then another sound besides the trainer's hysterical outcry catches the attention of you both. Rhydon had been watching the entire battle and is well aware of the fact you'd gone out of your way to help it when this trainer had been torturing it. It's eyeing the boy with an expression of absolute hatred and is snorting angrily, its foot scratching the ground as though it's ready to charge. The boy looks at Rhydon, then at you, then at Rhydon again before screaming like a schoolgirl and taking off up the trail at breakneck speed before Rhydon can trample him.

After the trainer's rather humourous if not completely pathetic departure, Rhydon turns its attention to you. It's completely covered in mud and definitely appears to have seen better days considering how weak it is after Blastoise's relentless water assaults, but you can tell it's definitely not a threat to you after what you'd done to help it. It walks over to you very slowly, apparently in quite a bit of pain. Stopping in front of you, it holds out its hand and waits for you to reach yours out. When you do, it drops a shiny golden Nugget into your palm before smiling and turning away to walk off down the trail...

"You can't be serious," Xander curses when he spies the incoming threat. "If it doesn't rain, it pours." Yanmega has bought them some precious time with Dragonite, and now they're faced with another impending battle. He rues the day he set foot in Elyra, and if he can get himself out of this scrape he'll be departing this insanely violent land before anything worse can happen. He doesn't know who these people are, or what they want, only that he needs to escape. "Crobat!" he calls to his leathery friend. "Send one of these Pokemon to sleep with your Hypnosis, shoot a Confuse Ray at another, and use a Quick Attack/Fly combo to get past them and keep going! Do not stop for anything!"

Looking behind to see how Yanmega is faring Xander is pleased to find him catching up. "Use Double Team, Yanmega! You have Dragonite behind you and four enemies ahead, you need to provide yourself with cover by means of distraction. Use Quick Attack to evade attacks, Slash if they get too close, and make sure you stay with us!" Tightening his hold on Kayla and Cubone, Xander speaks to Fearow next. "You're entrusted with our safety Fearow. Don't engage in battle unless you're left with no other choice. Use an Agility/Fly combo to forge your way between the oncoming Pokemon and trainers, and Leer them down if they obstruct your path."

Not completely sure of his decision, Stephen follows the Buneary through the cavern. And they walk. And walk. And walk...

Growing rather tired of the trip after a few hours, Stephen lets out an audible sigh of relief as the group reaches a ladder, which stretches upward to a hole which leads back up into the forest above. Stephen smiles as he begins to climb, Buneary clinging to his back. Ivysaur extends her vines to Swellow and the two ascend upwards as well, Swellow and Ivysaur disappearing from sight as they leave the tunnel, and Stephen and Buneary follow soon after.

When Stephen finds himself back on the surface, he can't help but be a bit happy, especially as his pupils contract, light being readily available for sight up here. This keeps him from noticing temporarily what surrounds them. Looking down at the three Pokemon, Stephen can't immediately realize why they all cower in fear, staring in different directions with expressions of fear on each of their faces. Stephen then realizes what they fear: huge spider webs blanket all of the huts, with even more white webs hanging from the tree branches above. The green remains of Ariados eggs litter the ground, and a chill goes down Stephen's spine as he realizes that there is no sign of life in the area at all. No Pokemon inhabit the trees nor bushes, and the silence is absolute, not broken by any Pokemon calls or movements.

The order to Swellow to torch the village to destroy the Ariados' nesting ground is on Stephen's lips when Buneary suddenly runs into one of the huts, leaving Stephen, Swellow, and Ivysaur remaining, each of them supressing the urge to run. While the looks on their faces clearly are those of "We need to get out of here," Stephen can't bring himself to do it, even though he feels the same. "Guys, Buneary needs our help."

The two Pokemon look as though they could care less what Buneary needs, but they nod as they see that they had no chance of winning this battle. Stephen ponders for a moment, before calling out, "Swellow, I want you to stand guard outside of the hut while myself and Ivysaur go inside. Keep alert. If one of those giant Ariados come near, cry out as loud as you can, and try to keep it at bay with Flamethrower."

Swellow nods warily, giving Stephen a look that almost resembles a glare for making her do this. "I'm sorry," Stephen says, scratching her head a little before walking into the hut with Ivysaur, wondering what awaits them...

Shadow listened to what his new friendly acquaintance had to say, and nodded assent. It was true that for all they had been through -- a considerable amount, factoring in the span of time it had happened over -- Shadow knew very little about Loretta's own past, and vice versa. Considering how different Shadow looked from the ranchgirl, he realised there would be a lot of catching up to do if they wanted the story to sound convincing.

"Well, I came from the Hoenn Region myself; Lilycove City, specifically. It's one of Hoenn's larger cities, with a gigantic shopping mall, the continent's centralised contest hall, and it's considerably teched out. It's also a quick boat trip away to Mossdeep Island, where they've got a Space Centre -- helped fuel my studious interests. Mount Pyre's also nearby; it's Hoenn's mass cemetery, and it's also where I met Grim," he recounted.

"The reason why I visited Elyra... well, I was looking for a peaceful area to adventure in; like I told Loretta, I had intended to pop by the field games held at Laramie Ranch to boost fundings for a Porygon -- a pretty definitive Pokemon for the scientist type, I personally believe."

It's the least I can do to thank you for all you've done for me today."
OOC - Ough. That really stinks. Master Quest is basically the same as the original outside of the dungeons though, right?

As Jessica warily regarded her companion, she couldn't help but wonder as to the integrity of the boy who had passed them earlier; if this woman was indeed evil, then did that make his intentions more ethical? Or was he really just a petty thief? Seeing as she'd easily allowed him to escape, chances were she'd never discover the answer. At any rate, the more pressing concern for them at the moment was to find some way to escape from the woman's clutches. However, at her simple suggestion, the woman's eyes gleamed in triumph and Jess knew she was trapped. "Oh, thank you, sweetie," she cried happily, causing Jess's heart to sink further as she realized her mistake had cost her their immediate escape path.

"You're such a sweet girl, offering to help an old lady," the woman continued. "Please, come with me." Without waiting for a reply, she took Jess's arm in hers in a benevolent manner that made the girl give an involuntary shudder. Taking no notice of this, the woman began to lead her back towards the city, despite her victims' silent protests. As they walked along the path, Jessica was surprised that her Pokémon chose not to assault her mind with bitter expressions of resentment concerning her dooming actions; instead they were silent, which agitated Jess even further than if they had spoken to her in anger. She attributed their horrified silence to their utter fear of being taken away by this woman to her lair, and she sorrowfully remitted an apology to the two. They quickly gave her a charitable response, merely begging that she find a way to withdraw as soon as possible.

As Jessica racked her brain for a solution to their dilemma, the woman led her through the streets towards the residential area of the city known as Royal Close. As they passed through Princeton Drive, the white cobblestone streets and luxurious mansions on either side of the road gave the locale a grand air of affluence and prosperity that caused Jess to wonder if this district had given birth to the city’s title. However she had little time to dwell on this matter as the woman insistently dragged her down one of the side streets and away from the impressive structures, guiding her overwhelmed charge through a convoluted network of narrow streets and alleyways until they reached the working class area and eventually the poorer section of town.

As they entered the impoverished neighborhood, Jessica noted a particular house which was set further back from the rest. Its sad wooden structure looked so crooked and weather-beaten that it seemed to be at least two hundred years old. Windows draped miserably in black curtains served as forlorn, ageless eyes that stared darkly into an animated world while the house itself sat and withered away in tormented silence, wholly unconcerned by the passage of time. Thorny shrubs and overgrown grass prospered in the front lawn, whilst tangled vines crept silently around the groaning walls of the residence, ensnaring it further in its own secluded corner. Just looking at the property filled with her with an overwhelming sense of grief, and the girl glanced anxiously at her smiling escort, inferring from her bearing that this was likely their destination.

Her suspicions were soon confirmed as the old woman led her up to the rickety garden gate and carefully unlatched it, swinging it open abruptly with an overly cheerful announcement of, "Here we are, lovey! You must come inside for a nice cup of iced tea before you leave. It's the least I can do to thank you for all you've done for me today."

As the woman dragged Jess up the path even more forcefully than before, Jess could hear her Pokémon’s desperate protests echoing relentlessly inside her head, causing her own awakened sense of alarm to finally overcome her body. “NO!” she screamed, attempting to pull away in a sudden fright. She caught herself however and made a weak effort to try and explain. “I mean, we really have to go soon. Thanks, but we’ll just be on our way…”

Determined to break off the companionship now for both her Pokémon’s safety as well as her own, she consulted with Alice through telepathy: If she refuses to let us go, please give her a mild dose of CONFUSION. I’ll try to escape once she’s disoriented. Alice gave an imperceptible nod, and Jess braced herself, prepared to make a run for it as soon as there was an opening.

Re: The Twilight Realm

Stepping off the Ferry of Transportation, Mett and Butters, his recently obtained Teddiursa, have arrived in the Port of Elyra. Not wanting to stay in one place for too long, the pair quickly head out into Elyra Field. "Hmm.. So many places to vist, but I don't have the patience to visit them all. I mean sure they might be of some interest to visit the town first, somehow trouble always seems to follow." Butters, licking whats left of his lunch from his paws, looks up at Matt with a 'So where are we going' expression on his face. "Luck has never been on my side, and neither has my good decision making. Cloud Island is the only place that I want to get off my 'To Do List', from there we can adventure anywhere. Finding it should be fun, seeing as we need to find the oh so rare Steps of Light to get there."

After looking at a map of the vast Elyrian Territory, transportation is a must if he wanted to get from point A to point B with the least amount of time wasted. The Laramie Ranch is known to lend the services of their steeds to people who gain their trust, so that sounds like the smartest thing to do. But gaining the trust of using another persons pokemon won't be an easy thing to do. He could get some information about the area even.

"Well we're going to head off to the Laramie Ranch first to try get us some wheels, or hooves rather, then we'll try to find the Steps of Light. Sound good to you, Butters?"

The little bear pokemon nodded. Turning his iPod on and selecting the perfect road trip playlist, the pair and started their journey in Elyra. trainer info

Joshua wanders along, eyes on his travelling companions, his thoughts miles away. 'What do the Nightbringers really want, other than the materials they've demanded from these poor people?' The question had haunted his thoughts since Elsa's first explanation, and nothing else had come to light to help answer it.

He was broken from his reverie by the sight of a curious little Nidoran Male. An instant sigh escaped his lips before he realised, the sight of the male Pokemon enough to revive part of his desire for a female Nidoran. With no more room on his team, however, Joshua passed it over with little thought.

Until both its parents showed up, the sight of the Nidoqueen and Nidoking enough to make Joshua jump. John faces Nidoking with a Metang, Joshua's eyes raising at the sight of the metal psychic, his mind making a mental note to ask John about it later. Elsa, however, chose to face Nidoqueen with a Miltank, a Pokemon which Joshua hadn't actually seen before. Another mental note was lodged, to ask Elsa if he could better examine said Pokemon after this was over.

Joshua's eyes flicked between companions, before issuing orders. "Shade, help John. Launch a Confuse Ray at Nidoking, then let John's Metang go wild. When it's safe, scorch Nidoking with Will-o-Wisp, then aim an Ice Beam at its face!"

Shade nodded, and Joshua turned to Hayley. "Help Elsa. Launch a Dragonbreath from above, without hitting Miltank. Then wait for Miltank to move, then when its safe, add to Nidoqueen's pain with Blizzard, then a Hyper Beam!"

A large part of Joshua's mind wished desperately for there to be a way out of this situation without hurting the parents, but he could see no such option. And as Shade and Hayley readied themselves for battle, he reasoned with himself, that no serious harm would be done to the parents, his eyes flickering to a golden colour as the battle began.

Inferno can't believe how stupid the trainer is, but it's worse that he treats his Pokemon so badly. He wishes he can do something to help Blastoise but knows he can't and hopes it will be ok. When Inferno sees Rhydon walking over to him he gets a bit worried, hoping Rhydon isn't mad with him too but it's not. It's being friendly and gives him a Nugget to say thank you for helping it. After Inferno says goodbye he returns Alakazam to his Psychic Ball and releases Arcanine. "I made a new friend Arcanine. Look what Rhydon gave me." He shows Arcanine the Nugget and then looks at Rhydon walking away. It looks like it's in pain, so Inferno calls out to it. "Rhydon, wait!" He runs over to it pulling a Potion out of his bag. "This will make you feel better Rhydon." He holds the potion up for Rhydon to see and hopes Rhydon will let him use it on it. Inferno hopes he never meets that trainer again but because he ran up the trail, the same way Inferno is going, he thinks he might. Inferno waits to see what Rhydon will do because he doesn't want to leave it hurt like this after what Blastoise has done.

Elyra Field - Please reply in lemonchiffon

Silver Wind: Arriving amidst the hustle and bustle of the thriving Elyra Port, you wonder how a land as highly populated as this could have remained off the radar for so long. Though Elyra is a popular tourist destination, it has only in recent months been attracting more than the usual number of travellers. All that aside, today is an excellent day to have begun your new adventure. The sun is shining strong, and the salty sea air drifting in from the open ocean has a pleasant feel to it. The cries of Wingull and Pelipper can be heard all around, some circling overhead waiting for a chance to steal their favourite treats from one of the many stalls on the docks selling freshly caught seafood while the more daring risk being crushed in the crowd to scavenge for tidbits dropped by careless merchants and customers. While there are several places to visit in the port area, your interest lays elsewhere. Turning toward the main walkway leading out of Elyra Port, you begin your journey into Elyra Field where thoughts of Cloud Island fill your mind.

Several minutes later, leaving Elyra Port behind, you emerge into a large expanse of open plains. You had an idea that Elyra Field will be huge, but its sheer size causes you to take a moment to reflect upon your preconceptions. The field is beyond massive, and as Elyra's central hub of activity, highly populated. Considering the size of the land, you figure you're going to need some form of transportation and so head toward Laramie Ranch where you're hoping you may be able to borrow a steed for your journey. While you're walking you notice that men, women, children, and Pokémon are roaming the vast acreage. These are of little concern to you however, as it's the ranch that you're focused upon. Walking along with the tunes of your favourite songs playing in your ear, you suddenly feel something hard ram into your leg. Turning around, you see a boy of about seven glaring angrily up at you while Butters is staring at him with an expression of utter astonishment. Realising the boy had kicked you to grab your attention, you remove your earpiece and look down at him. The boy crosses his arms and stares defiantly at you. "I was talking to you!" he yells in an accusatory tone...

Xander: Cursing not only your situation, but also the land of Elyra and the violence it contains, you can only think of escape considering the price you've already paid after coming to the aide of a young girl and her Pokémon. Bonky looks up at you questioningly, as though sensing your anger and frustration, tears springing to the little eyes hidden behind his skull mask. Kayla's innocent face is very pale, her ragged breaths so shallow it's hard to tell she's breathing at all, the comatose state she's in reminding you of why you're here. Knowing you need to escape the dark man and his Shadow Dragonite, and having successfully managed to gain a little bit of ground thanks to Yanmega's quick actions, the thought of having to take on another four enemies doesn't appeal to you at all considering you really only have one Pokémon available to you who is able to battle unhindered. The instructions you've issued are useless however, as the four incoming trainers had been expecting for you to either attack or attempt some sort of evasive action. Though you're not quite sure how they're doing it, you soon find that Crobat, Yanmega, and Fearow have all been disabled, unable to make any kind of attack upon their enemies. Somehow they're still able to remain airborne, but they seem to be under some kind of spell, completely entranced by some kind of strange magic.

A moment later you feel a strange vibration passing through your body, only to discover that the four trainers and Pokémon who had been approaching are now surrounding you in a protective circle. Riding the Pidgeot is a young woman, no more than twenty years old, with dark, flowing black hair, pale skin, and deep, sapphire blue eyes. Upon the Charizard is a man in his mid twenties with olive skin, shoulder length brown, wavy hair, the same sapphire blue eyes as the girl, and a scar across his right cheek. The third trainer riding upon Fearow is a woman who appears to be in her forties. Her short, spiked hair resembles that of a hawk, as do her sharp features and dark brown eyes. Her expression gives the impression that she's not one to mess with, her stance emanating an aura of power. The fourth trainer who is riding upon Altaria is a man who appears to be in his sixties. His hair and neatly cropped beard are white, and he possesses the same deep, sapphire blue eyes as that of the two younger trainers. They each raise a wooden staff, a translucent beam shooting from the tip of each one. As the beams touch above your head, an energy shield radiates outward, surrounding you and your Pokémon as well as themselves.

It is then that your Pokémon break free of the spell they are under and that you notice Dragonite and the dark man approaching, an expression of pure rage plastered across his face. "You won't get away with this!" he yells, pointing his finger straight toward you and once again unleashing the lethal purple energy beam straight toward you. This time, however, the beam disintegrates upon touching the magical shield, and a moment later the woman riding the Fearow raises her own arm. Pointing at Dragonite, a beam of pale blue energy shoots from her fingertip, passing though the shield and striking the dragon Pokémon in the chest. Dragonite roars in agony before falling from the sky and spiralling toward the ground while its rider lets loose with an utterly distasteful barrage of curses. The hawk woman turns her gaze toward Kayla, disapproval clearly showing in her eyes, before she turns toward Skarmory. Reaching out, she lays her hand on him and then looks straight at you. "Come with us, now," she says, her demanding tone indicating she won't take no for an answer. "We may still have time." With that all four trainers turn and fly off into the distance, expecting you to follow...

Atrea, City of Fortune - Please reply in hotpink

lilbluecorsola: Indeed it does ;-; And yes, that's right. I just prefer to play it with the N64 controller as opposed to the GC controller, especially when using the Ocarina. It's much simpler.

Considering your Pokémon's desperate pleas to leave the company of this woman, you know you'll have to listen regardless of the consequences. You'd been kind enough to help her already, and then to accompany her to her home, but your own sense of self preservation has finally kicked in. There's no way on earth you're entering this house and you're willing to do anything it takes to ensure that doesn't happen. Your reaction has the woman dropping her innocent guise in an instant, though you suspect her friendly mask would have vanished any minute now anyway considering you're now on her turf. She stares deeply into your eyes, her lips turning up at the corners to form a frighteningly twisted grin. Trapped in her hypnotic gaze, you feel like you're looking into a bottomless pit with no hope of escape. You're completely immobile, vaguely aware of your Pokémon's cries for help. It seems they, too, are trapped, unable to move or to attack, leaving all three of you at the old woman's mercy. "Don't think you're getting away that easily, Missy," she says, the hostility in her tone leaving you under no illusions regarding the fact you're in deep trouble. "You simply MUST stay for tea," she concludes, her deranged cackle filling your ears as you feel the earth open beneath your feet. Free of her imprisoning gaze, you feel yourself falling and try to stop yourself. Unfortunately all you're grabbing are handfuls of soil and plant roots as you descend into the unknown. A moment later you hit solid ground and look around to find yourself in a small room. Looking up, you find there is no hole in the ceiling which is strange in itself since you'd just fallen through it. The walls are made of red brick, and there is only one metal door that appears to be locked from the outside. There is one bed, and your basic amenities, but other than that there is nothing. Wherever you are, you have the distinct impression that you won't be getting out of here for a very long time...

Shadowshocker: "I visited Lilycove two years ago," Loretta replies. "Daddy entered one of our Rapidash into a contest, and I went along to sus it all out. I've never seen a contest before, but it was one of the most amazing events I've been to. I was training Andromeda up to take part in this year's competition..." but her words soon trail off, her eyes clouding with worry. Even Perseus becomes restless upon hearing Andromeda mentioned while Peg looks to the ground, almost as though she can't bring herself to look at either Loretta or Perseus, a profound sadness entering her sapphire blue eyes. Loretta realises the awkwardness of the moment, and halfheartedly smiles. "I'm happy to change our cover story. We can say we're from Lilycove seeing as I have enough familiarity with the area to make it believable." An awkward silence hangs over you as you continue on your journey to Atrea, but as soon as you arrive, everyone's spirits seem to lift slightly. John says his goodbyes, wrapping Loretta up in an affectionate bear hug before continuing on to the Pokémon Centre to have Persian attended to, and advising you both to be very careful. He agrees not to say anything at all to Loretta's father regarding your whereabouts but openly admits that if asked, he won't lie about having seen you.

Returning your steeds to their respective Pokéballs, you and Loretta spend the next hour walking around the city, checking out the stalls, and purchasing items for your journey. She already seems to know what she wants, selecting a range of potions, healing items, berries, non-perishable food, matches for lighting campfires as well as a pan and kettle with which to cook, several bottles of fresh water, an inconspicuous hooded brown cloak, and a new pair of leather riding boots to replace her more comfortable, well worn ones, which she explains is to disguise the fact she's a well seasoned rider considering she's supposed to hail from Lilycove City. She willingly hands over the coins to pay for both your purchases, also handing you a satchel full of gold coins to keep close at hand should you need to buy something in the event that she's not in your company if you find you need something. While Loretta is busy choosing her items, you notice that a man seems to be following you. It could be purely coincidental for it's possible he's just checking out the same stalls that you are, but considering everything that's happened today you can't help but feel a little wary. Loretta doesn't seem to notice and after finally purchasing a couple of light blankets and two large knapsacks to store everything in so that it's all easier to carry when you're not riding your horses, she turns to you with a big smile. "Well," she says brightly. "Would you like to head over to the Astral Library to find Owen, or would you prefer to see the sights of Atrea first?"

Forest of Mystery - Please reply in limegreen

S_M: Though Swellow is far from impressed about being left alone to keep watch while you follow Buneary into the web covered hut, she understands. Her eyes are already scanning the area and the treetops, more than a hint of worry visible in her expression. Feeling a little guilty, you enter the hut with Ivysaur hoping that you won't find yourself face to face with one of the monstrosities responsible for the deathly silent state of the little forest village. Once inside, you're not at all surprised to find even more webs. These ones are smaller, yet still large compared to a regular Ariados web which means the Spinarak must be inhabiting the inside of the huts while their parents cover the outside of the village. Looking around the sparsely furnished hut you notice food still sitting on the wooden table, three empty beds lined up along the far wall, shelves stocked with rotting berries and vegetables, cooking utensils laying neatly beside a stack of pots and pans in one corner, hunting weapons atop one of the taller shelves, and small wooden figures sitting on the floor as though abandoned by a child. Thankfully there are no people inside, living or otherwise, for you have a sneaking suspicion there wouldn't be much left of them if there were. The Spinarak need to feed off something which makes you wonder exactly where everybody is. Have they already been devoured by these unnaturally large and violent creatures, or did they flee when the first Ariados appeared?

Buneary is sitting on the floor holding one of the little wooden figures, tears streaming down its little face. It occurs to you that Buneary could have belonged to the child who owned the toy, and is why the little bunny is so upset. Before you have time to dwell much more on this, however, you hear Swellow squawking up a storm. An unmistakable warning tone is present in her voice which immediately has all of you, including Buneary, racing out of the hut. Upon emerging into daylight, you see nothing but the same scene as you remember from before, but Swellow has quite obviously been spooked by something. She motions toward the treeline on the far side of the clearing, and upon turning your gaze in that direction you watch closely, hoping it's not one or more of the Ariados or Spinarak returning from wherever they'd disappeared to. A moment later you see some movement. Nothing too obvious, but just enough rustling from some bushes to alert you to the fact that something is there. You can see that Swellow is preparing to take whatever it is down with a nice blast of firepower, but isn't quite willing to set the forest ablaze in case this turns out to be a harmless forest creature. The bushes rustle again, but this time you hear the unmistakable sound of footsteps as someone starts to run as fast as they can away from the village...

Empyrean Mountain - Please reply in red

Inferno: With the battle over, the sadistic trainer long gone, and you having already said your goodbyes to Rhydon, you feel it's time to continue on your journey to Empyrean Crater. Returning Alakazam and releasing Arcanine in preparation to get underway, you find yourself unable to leave Rhydon in the state it's in. After calling for it to wait, Rhydon turns around and looks quizzically at you, not quite sure what you could want with it. It soon understands though, and smiles, nodding its acceptance of your offer and standing still while you administer the Potion. A few minutes later it's looking much better, though still feeling a little sore and sorry for itself. It looks thoughtful, quite obviously mulling over something in its mind, and a moment later it seems to have decided upon whatever it is that it's thinking about. It walks over to he edge of the trail, breaking a small branch from a tree. It sits in silence for several minutes, whittling away at the stick before eventually handing it to you. The result is amazing to say the least, especially considering the item you're holding has been made by a Pokémon. Examining it, you see the stick is hollow on the inside, and that Rhydon has punched several holes into it and also carved it into a mouthpiece at one end. It appears to be some crude kind of flute but when you put it to your lips to test it out, Rhydon reaches out and touches your shoulder gently in order to stop you from playing it. It makes several hand motions, and though you can't understand exactly what it's trying to tell you, you get the basic idea that you should only use this flute if you find yourself in mortal danger. What will happen then is anyone's guess, but you accept it nonetheless before saying your final farewells and continuing on up the mountain trail.

Happy to be underway again, your thoughts return to your original mission. Finding Professor Happo's tools so that he's able to repair his Nidoking suit is of utmost importance at the moment, especially considering it'll help you get one step closer to the mysterious Bazooka Pokémon he'd encountered. Arcanine is racing up the trail at full speed, thrilled to pieces to finally be free of her Pokéball after having been cooped up for so long. She's enjoying the run just as much as you, but when several boulders start careening down the trail toward you, Arcanine finds herself having to dodge the enormous rocks with extreme agility in order to avoid being crushed. One of the boulders appears to have a mind of its own for it's not like the others that a are rolling past. This one seems to be following Arcanine's movements while she attempts to evade it. You soon discover why, for just when it seems like you're about to collide with the boulder it suddenly jumps high, a Golem springing out of its rolled up position and landing on the ground in front of you with an earth shattering thud and a frightening "RWAAAAAR!". Rhydon may have been friendly considering you'd helped save it, but this Golem certainly doesn't appear to be in the mood for tea and biscuits...

Incura Valley - Please reply in darkorange

Joshua: Though John's Metang appears the type to be able to handle these Pokémon itself, it certainly can't hurt to offer some help especially considering enraged parents always seem to have a killer instinct when it comes to protecting their young. While none of you had intended to harm the curious little Nidoran, his parents don't see it that way and are a formidable force to be reckoned with. Metang begins the battle with a blast of psychic energy, its Confusion, followed closely by Shade's Confuse Ray, completely befuddling the raging dad thanks to the combination of both attacks. It trips over its own feet, crashing to the ground as Nidoqueen, head lowered, rams into Miltank with Horn Attack. Miltank retaliates by putting all of her weight into a full force Body Slam before Stomping down hard on Nidoqueen's foot which earns Miltank a Double Kick to the face just as Hayley swoops down from above to attack with Dragonbreath. The greenish blue mist over washes over the angry mommy, infuriating her even further. She responds by taking a deep breath and spitting a barrage of Poison Sting needles skyward, some of which hit Hayley while others either graze her or fly right by.

Though chaos has erupted and attacks are flying, nobody is anywhere near done yet. While Nidoking is down Metang moves in, its claw glinting in the midday sun with steel energy before it smashes down hard on the back of Nidoking's head with Meteor Mash. The pain is intense, especially if Nidoking's agonised roar echoing throughout the valley is anything to go by, and while the blow may have taken a good chunk of Nidoking's health, it's also knocked him out of his confused state. He rises to his feet, rushing at Metang and attacking with Poison Jab. Luckily for Metang, Nidoking's horn just bounces off his metallic hide. Responding with Psychic, Metang's attack sends Nidoking flying back and crashing into the cliffside giving Shade the chance he needs to release his Will-o-Wisp without having to worry about hitting his ally. Nidoking gets up again, a little shaky this time, his Horn spinning not unlike that of a Drill as he rushes in to attack Metang only to be caught completely off guard as Shade's Ice Beam streaks straight toward the Drill Pokémon and hits in the face. Though he's taken a fair bit of damage by this stage, Nidoking continues to charge Metang who meets the enraged daddy head on with Take Down. Metang suffers some recoil damage, but Nidoking most definitely came off worse for wear.

Miltank reaches out, Hammering her Arm into Nidoqueen's belly only to find the overprotective mommy soon Crunching down on her fist. Miltank bellows loudly, using her other arm to send a Dizzying Punch smacking into the side of Nidoqueen's head. Nidoqueen releases her grip and Hayley uses her chance to send a chilling Blizzard Nidoqueen's way. The attack slows Nidoqueen right down, so Miltank uses this opportunity to her advantage, creating a Milky Drink that she immediately gulps down to help her recover some of her lost health and energy. Hayley moves quickly, unleashing a Hyper Beam which strikes Nidoqueen and sends her flying. The little Nidoran who had inadvertently started all of this trouble sits down and starts bawling its eyes out, beside itself to see this kind of violence carried out right in front of it. Miltank isn't finished though, and hurls herself at Nidoqueen while she's down, her body coated with steel energy as she slams into Nidoqueen with Gyro Ball. Nidoqueen can barely move now, and Nidoking isn't looking too crash hot either. Both Pokémon are prepared to defend their baby till the death though, so you know you'll have to act swiftly if you want to get out of this battle alive...

In his mind, Shadow weighed the possibilities and probabilities. He had borne in mind the likelihood of being on a hit list, but how was it that word of their plans had reached enemy ears? Had the villains they would have to go against been tracking their movements? There seemed no reason for Shadow to ignore this idea; it could be entirely possible for an enemy agent to be deployed just to keep an eye out.

With this troubling worst-case scenario, Shadow turned to his options. In such a case, splitting ways temporarily would be an effective way to lose the stalker, but if they went in separate directions they couldn't guarantee the safety of the other should something happen, especially with the ominous threat of the rogue capture mechanism.

Gripping Loretta's hand in a gentle but firm clasp, Shadow decided he would have to deal with this risk himself without startling Loretta, lest the stranger be alerted of his suspicion. Once they were out of the store, he would have to take note of the unknown man's movements; if he followed them out, Shadow would casually drop Grim's PokeBall on the ground and stop to pick it up. If the man was following them, he would definitely stop advancing; the dropping of Grim's PokeBall would also allow him to confront the stranger if the need arose. "I think we'll take a brief detour around town before we head to the library," he said, planning to weave through a thick crowd along the way to lose the man, just to make sure...

Xander is consumed by a helpless wave of panic when he finds his Pokemon have been disabled, and that the approaching invaders have surrounded him. No longer willing to run, he's reaching for Dusknoir's Pokeball to engage in battle when he realises these people have come to his aide. The eldest woman exhibits a remarkable resemblance to a hawk, but it's her demeanour that has him feeling like a nervous school boy under the close scrutiny of a disapproving and overbearing headmistress. The two men are unremarkable except for the scar on the cheek of the youngest. Their eyes are the same shade of blue as Xander's own, and he wonders if the two are related. The attractive girl in their company holds his attention for a few seconds longer than necessary while he subconsciously examines every detail about her, but the spell is broken when she raises a wooden staff and shoots a beam of energy into the air above his head. He ducks, reflexively holding on tighter to Kayla and Cubone, noticing that the other three trainers are mirroring the girl's action. When the beams meet Xander feels a vibration pass through him, an energy shield radiating outward to encircle them. He's never seen anything like it, but his questions need to wait because Dragonite is approaching. The small lead Yanmega had bought them is lost, and fear fills his soul when the dark man attacks. What happens next is so surprising that he suspects he may be dreaming. The lethal purple beam hits the energy shield and disintegrates, but the most surprising occurrence is the hawk lady's powerful counter attack resulting in Dragonite and rider plummeting out of control into Elyra Field hundreds of feet below.

The immediate threat has passed, but Xander is unsure of how to proceed. These trainers have undoubtedly helped him, possibly even saved his life, but he's not willing to trust them without knowing why they'd intervened. "Thank you," he says earnestly, addressing the group, but the hawk lady's disapproving gaze silences him before he can utter another word. She recognises Kayla but her expression only shows contempt for the child which angers him, and when she touches Skarmory Xander is ready to give her a tongue lashing. This woman may be powerful, and from what he has seen is the leader of this foursome, but that does not give her the right to lay a finger upon his friend. Her next statement succeeds in silencing him again, his jaw snapping shut upon hearing her demand. "Come with us now. We may still have time." Time? Time for what? Xander's gaze darts between Skarmory and the retreating backs of the four mysterious trainers. There is no doubt in his mind that she'd been referring to Skarmory, but what can she mean? "We may still have time." Her statement echoes in his mind. "We may still have time. We may still have time. Time.." Time to save him? Xander's heart bursts with hope. If there is even a chance this woman has the power to resurrect Skarmory then he will not ignore her demand. "Fearow! Crobat! Yanmega! Follow them!" Xander commands. "NOW!"

Joshua watched happily as his Pokemon were successful in executing his attack commands, watching as both Shade and Hayley made it through with mininal to no damage. Looking over both Miltank and Metang, Joshua viewed them both to be more than capable of continuing to battle.

A small part of Joshua's mind, part of him not currently planning, was plagued with guilt over what they had done, attacking a child's parents rather than try and avoid the fight. However, as Joshua's eyes flickered gold again, that part of his mind was closed off, and he began calling out attack commands.

"Shade, Hayley, both Nidoking and Nidoqueen may be weak, but they're still dangerous! Hayley, bring Nidoqueen's suffering to a quick end with a Water Pulse, twice if necessary! Shade, Ice Beam Nidoking's face again, then finish it with Bubblebeam!" Joshua threw a quick look at both Elsa and John, hopefully one carrying an expression that said, 'let me go first, then finish up if I can't'.

Inferno is happy to see the potion is helping Rhydon feel better but is confused when Rhydon wants him to stay. He watches it carving a stick and wonders what he's doing, and when Rhydon hands him the stick and Inferno can see it's a flute, he's surprised. He didn't know Pokemon can make things like this. "Thank you, Rhydon" he says and goes to try it. Rhydon stops him, trying to tell him something. He thinks Rhydon is saying to only use it if he's in danger so he nods and puts the flute away to keep it safe. "I will Rhydon, and I'll take very good care of it, thank you. I hope I see you again one day." He gives Rhydon a hug then climbs onto Arcanine's back. "Goodbye Rhydon, and be careful."

Even though it was nice to make a new friend, Inferno is happy to be travelling again. He wants to get to Empyrean Crater as fast as he can and with Arcanine taking him there they should make it in no time. Luck isn't on his side today, because they're attacked by a Golem before they can get very far. "This is so not fair!" Inferno yells, getting angry. Golem isn't going to let them get past it without a fight so Inferno jumps off Arcanine's back so she can battle. "He's yours, Arcanine!" he shouts. "Slam it with Iron Tail, Dig under it, and smash it to pieces with Rock Smash!" Inferno thinks this might be overkill, but he's too annoyed to care. The trainer and Blastoise made him lose some time and now Golem wants a fight. He has a job to do and Golem is in his way so it'll have to pay.

Walking into the hut with a mixture of fear, dread, and guilt resting on his conscience, Stephen peers around the darkened room. Smaller webs drape across every surface, from the bed to the cupboards. The smell of rotten berries and vegetables penetrates Stephen's nostrils from the time he enters the room, giving Stephen the sense that this hut has not been inhabited by humans in a very long time. Stephen eventually turns his eyes to the Buneary, who has found a small wooden toy and is clutching it in its paws, tears streaming down its face. Stephen glances at Ivysaur, having never been good at comforting others. Stephen takes a few hesitant steps toward Buneary, but his attention is immediately turned to the outside of the hut.

True to its orders, Swellow's warning cry sounds, making all three of them race from the hut. Walking from the dusty hut into the bright sunlight, Stephen looks around frantically, expecting, at the least, to see a monstrous Ariados. Swellow swoops over and lands on his shoulder, pointing at a bush with her beak. Watching it intently, Stephen sees the bush just rustle. Stephen can feel the heat radiating from Swellow, who is obviously prepared to set the forest on fire if she sees another one of those monstrous beasts. She restrains herself though, and Stephen takes a few cautious steps toward the bushes. However, as he does this, the sounds of human footsteps are obvious, running away from him.

Realizing that this person may be able to help Buneary find its lost family, or possibly help with the source of the Ariados, Stephen ponders what to do. Realizing that he would have to act fast, Stephen calls out attacks to Swellow and Ivysaur.

"Ivysaur, I want you to use Vine Whip to swing yourself though the trees, Tarzan like, to catch up to the person. Then wrap them up in a Vine Whip as well. Swellow, use Quick Attack to get in front of the person and cut them off - we may need their help.

Elyra Port- Please reply in lemonchiffon

Altocharizard: The chants of the gathering mob along with the seriously determined look of the trainer ahead of you resign you to recall all of your pokémon but your charizard. It's not a battle you really wanted, but you really can't see another way out. The trainer across from holds out his pokéball and is about to release his pokémon when suddenly you hear a female's voice shout out....

"Wait! Big brother you don't have to do this!" a young girl in her later teens runs up to the windbreaker clad trainer. Her long blond hair gently waving in the port breeze. You can see the family resemblance almost immediately. The fact that they are dressed almost identically only serves to accent their similarity, "He's recalled his pokémon. There's no reason to fight. Defeating him won't make you a hero and will only delay us. Don't forget, we're here for a reason."

"Don't you think I know that," the young man abruptly stated, "However, how can I just stand by while he so selfishly goes about disrupting things?"

The trainer stared into his sister's eyes for a moment and the hard look of resolve on his face soon softened, "Fine," he said lowering his pokéball, "I won't fight him. But only because you asked me not to."

"Thanks," the young girl replied with a smile.

"Hey! Waitaminute! We thought we were going to see a battle," a voice called out from the crowd.

"Yeah! Let's see a fight" another voice followed only to be joined by more outbursts from the crowd.

The trainer in the windbreaker scowled. He had not counted on the crowd being this unruly. Straightening up, he raised his hands and shouted, "Everyone, please listen! I will not force this trainer to battle me. If it's a battle you want, I'm sure you can find one somewhere else."

Before you know it the crowd starts in on the trainer again as he tries to reason with them and without warning a small man with a receding hairline steps up next to you and says, "Listen pal, I may not have liked you at first, but this scared little punk is going to cost me some money unless you take it to him, if you know what I mean. Come on, pally, I've got 3 to 1 odds on you to win. Fight him and win and I can make it worth your while. Just slip me a small amount of credit and I'll place the bet. What do ya say?"

What will you do?

OoC – Ah, I see. I didn’t know Master Quest was for the GC only. (I’ve only played it via emulation. ^^; )

Have you played any of the newer games like Wind Waker and Twilight Princess? (I haven’t played them yet since I don’t own a GC or Wii. =()

As soon as Jess lost her composure and revealed her terror to her foe, the old woman similarly dropped her innocent guise and stared penetratingly at the panicked girl, seemingly willing her target not to move an inch. As she gazed deeply into her victim’s eyes, Jess felt as if she were staring into the shadowy depths of a bottomless pit with no hope of escape. Her entire body felt detached and numb, and even her Pokémon’s desperate cries for help sounded distant within her fully spellbound mind. All she could focus on were those two black voids hovering evocatively in front of her face, entrancing her entirely through their beguiling, vast hollowness. As she watched Jess succumb willingly under her spell, a conniving smile played onto the woman’s lips, causing the girl to suddenly recall her alarm in a horrified panic. Unfortunately, she was too late; both she and her Pokémon were caught in the woman’s mental trap so that they could no longer avert their wholly riveted eyes, let alone try to escape.

"Don't think you're getting away that easily, Missy," the woman sneered, her voice suddenly taking on a severe harshness of tone that gave Jessica the sinking impression that they were indeed in deep trouble. "You simply MUST stay for tea," she cackled, her discordant laughter filling Jess’s ears as she suddenly felt the stark earth give way beneath her feet. Due to the unanticipated drop, Jess finally broke free of the witch’s gaze, only to realize that she was falling into unseen depths. She desperately attempted to halt her progress by grasping at the sides of the tunnel, but unfortunately in her wildly seizing hands there only came away bits of plant roots and soil. She screamed, but the earth proceeded to swallow her nonetheless.

All of a sudden she felt a solid floor beneath her, and she opened her eyes to find herself trapped inside a small room. Surprisingly her body hadn’t suffered any damage from the fall, so she stood up immediately and hastily began to search for an escape. Gazing up at the blank ceiling, she found there wasn’t any hole she had fallen through, which was peculiar as well as unfortunate. There remained but one other clear option: an imposing metal door on the opposite wall, which Jessica perceived was almost certainly locked. Crossing over to it, she despairingly tried the handle, and sure enough the door refused to budge.

Faced without any obvious means of escape, Jessica turned around to resignedly survey the room in more detail. In a corner there stood an unadorned bed, as well as a few other basic facilities to provide for her residence. To her dismay she realized that this space was obviously meant to accommodate her for a long time. Besides the highly secured door, the walls were also composed of brick, which further reinforced her state of confinement. Her heart sank as she recognized the hopelessness of the situation, and she sat down on the bed, highly tempted to cry. How could she have been so stupid as to get herself involved in all this mess? If she hadn’t been so damn passive she wouldn’t have gotten Alice and Bobble stuck in this horrible situation with her. Now thanks to her incompetence they were possibly all going to be imprisoned in this little room for the rest of their lives. The tears started to well up in her eyes and she buried her face in her hands, her weak composure and self-confidence completely shattered by these thoughts.

…Jess?

It was Alice. Jess opened her eyes and saw her two Pokémon standing on the mattress beside her, gazing at their disheartened trainer with a mixture of wonder and concern. Jess found herself unable to speak audibly due to her tears, however she could still address them telepathically without any trouble.

I’m sorry. This whole thing is my fault. I should’ve protected you guys first…

Alice shook her head. It’s okay. We know you did what you thought was right.

“But-“

Bobble interrupted this time, stopping his trainer’s mouth with one of his arms. “Not,” he stated firmly, and he urged Alice to go on using his other arm.

Jess, we love you because you’re a kind person. If you hadn’t shown such kindness towards me when we first met, I wouldn’t be together with you right now. She put her hand on top of the girl’s and smiled warmly. You risked your life so many times to save me, and for that I’m truly grateful. Please don’t blame yourself for acting as kind to someone else as you were to me.

The girl stared at the little Psychic Pokémon holding her hand so devotedly, and tears gradually began to form in her eyes again. However these tears were different from the ones she had been shedding just a few minutes before. These were the same emotional tears of joy that she’d cried when Alice had agreed to join her team, telling her the words that she most needed to hear at that time and also now. Jess tightly embraced Alice, who responded with boundless affection, suddenly bursting into tears as well. Bobble drew his arms gently around both of them, smiling at the two females in a sort of fatherly manner that, under normal circumstances, would be considered highly unusual in regards to his character. In truth he was glad to see that they were capable of supporting each other now without his help, and he recognized that growth with pride and relief rather than jealousy.

Thank you, Jessica thought as they drew away, and both Pokémon smiled. Now, let’s try and think of a plan to escape. A thought had occurred to her that it might be best to continue to converse in this manner, just in case the walls had ears and were listening to them. Unfortunately none of our teammates knows a powerful Fire-type move like FLAMETHROWER or FIRE BLAST, so we can’t melt the door. But maybe we’d be able to break it down with enough force. It might be dangerous though since we’ll probably make a lot of noise, but it seems to be our only option for getting out quicker. What do you guys think? Do you have any other ideas?

The Pokémon shook their heads. Let’s give it a shot. Now that we know she’s an enemy, we’ll be ready to fight if she comes. So let’s just try and get out of here as soon as possible.

Jess nodded in agreement, and unclipped one of her Pokéballs, tossing it out onto the floor to summon the creature it contained. A gigantic rock beast emerged from the sphere, taking up almost all the space that was left inside the room. The Rhydon regarded his surroundings in confusion for a moment, puzzled as to why his presence would be needed in such a small area. Finding it difficult to maneuver his entire body around, he grunted softly in frustration and turned his head inquiringly towards the girl, hoping for an explanation as to why she had called him here.

To his surprise, he instead heard another female voice answer inside his head: We’ve been trapped inside this room by an evil hag. Please can you help us break down the door so we can escape?

Startled by this address, he turned towards Alice, and grunted again in bewilderment. She politely reintroduced herself to him and proceeded to explain the situation in further detail (occasionally receiving input from Bobble on key points in the story). Once the Rhydon understood what was needed of him, he nodded resolutely and indicated for the group to stand back. Jess obeyed and hastily withdrew to the safety of the back of the room with Alice and Bobble, where all three anxiously waited to see if the Rhydon’s strength was enough to destroy to obstacle standing in the way of their freedom. He then backed up as far as his limited space would allow and HARDENed his exterior, prepared to TAKE DOWN the door. If the first attempt didn’t work, then Jess knew that he would keep trying until he had broken through, for he was determined now to free his companions no matter what. Such was his kind, loyal nature to his friends, and he therefore resolved to do everything within his power to save them.

Elyra Field - Please reply in lemonchiffon

Xander: Though the hawk lady isn't exactly your cup of tea, you can't ignore the fact that she'd performed an amazing and powerful magical feat. If she's capable of taking Dragonite out so easily then it's not too much of a leap of faith to believe that she just may be able to do something to help revive Skarmory. Without a second thought you follow the retreating quartet, and less than a minute later notice the air below you shimmering. The four trainers and their Pokémon all disappear from view as they enter the strange air currents and although you're slightly taken aback by their sudden disappearance, you're determined not to lose their trail and keep heading straight ahead. You soon enter the affected area as well, and as you pass through it you're surprised to find a village nestled into the rolling hills below. It wasn't visible until you'd passed through the shimmering phenomena in the sky, but you're immediately aware of the fact that you've found Zeppelin Village.

Coming in to land beside the four trainers, you can do nothing but watch as they immediately surround Crobat. They waste no time in removing Skarmory from his back, carrying your steel bird's lifeless body over to an alter in the middle of the village. Placing him upon it, they quickly surround him with incense sticks, lighting them while several people who appear to be village elders also surround the altar and form a chain. Holding hands, they close their eyes and begin to chant in an unfamiliar language as the aroma of incense fills the air. You can feel a strange vibe around you, something you can't quite describe, and even though it's like nothing you've ever seen or felt before, you instinctively know that Skarmory is in good hands. The hawk lady raises her head and stares straight at you, her dark brown eyes seeming to bore right through your soul. "How long as he been like this?" she asks, a hint of desperation in her voice. While you're thinking about it, she speaks again, this time her tone demanding an immediate response. "We have no time for you to sit and think. How long, man?!"

Atrea, City of Fortune - Please reply in hotpink

lilbluecorsola: I own both, but have played neither. Fully intended to, but as soon as I brought them home the kiddies confiscated the games and started playing them. Still want to play them, along with Diamond and several other games I've stuffed into drawers, but just don't have the time ;-; One day...

Feeling guilty for having been nice which has resulted in you ending up here, wherever here is, you sink into the mattress and begin to allow the guilt to consume you. Your Pokémon aren't about to let you play the self pity game however, and are quick to console you. Far from being angry, or even disappointed, they're both as loving and understanding as ever which encourages you to focus on the present rather than on what could have been. Their support helps you immensely, and with renewed determination, you decide to work on a strategy in which to escape the confines of your small cell. Considering you're underground, trying to break through the brick walls will undoubtedly prove fruitless, so you toss that idea to the side along with the thought of trying to melt the steel door considering you have no fire types, or Pokémon with fire type moves, at your disposal. The only other reasonable option is to attempt breaking the door down with force. This may attract attention due to the noise, but it's the only logical course of action you can see that may actually have a chance of working. Having just the right team member for the job, you release Rhydon who appears confused not only by his surroundings, but by the fact he can hear an unfamiliar voice in his head. Alice quickly explains the situation after which Rhydon nods his understanding before he focuses upon the door, Hardening himself in preparation for his attack. He glows white before lunging at the door with Take Down. He rebounds slightly, taking some recoil damage from the attack, and even though his first attempt has failed, he's not about to give up. His second attempt causes the door to rattle, his third cracking the bricks around the door. His fourth attack breaks the bottom hinges, his fifth bending the door out of shape. Though he's becoming quite tired now, freedom is almost guaranteed and so he rams the door extra hard the next time around resulting in it flying completely off both of its hinges and crashing to the floor on the outside of the room.

Stepping through the open doorway, you find yourself in another room which is about double the size of the last. Looking around you see there's nothing spectacular about it with the exception of two archways at the other end. Alice taps your leg, pointing backward with a baffled expression. The doorway you'd just walked through is now gone, with nothing but a solid brick wall replacing it. This place is getting weirder by the minute, and when you turn back toward the two arches ahead you see that two Slowbro have now appeared, one standing guard in front of each opening. They certainly don't appear hostile, if anything they appear to be rather friendly, smiling as you approach.

"Hello there!" says the first, apparently quite pleased to have someone to talk to other than its twin. "It's so lovely to see a fine young lass such as yourself. We don't often have company, so why don't you stay a while?"

The second grunts, as though not believing a word his companion has said. "Oh, what a lie!" he moans, shaking his head. "The only one you're interested in talking to is yourself!"

"LIES!" responds the first Slowbro, looking aghast at such a suggestion. "My brother is merely jealous because I've found much more interesting company," he continues, beaming brightly.

You're not exactly sure what's up with these two, but something is definitely a little off...

Shadowshocker: Not wanting to attract attention by doing anything that could alert the man to the fact you know he's following you, you clasp Loretta's hand in yours and begin to walk through the crowd. She's quite surprised by the gesture, but considering your expression figures you have a reason for doing what you're doing. She slips her hand into yours and walks with you, and as you turn to smile at her you notice from the corner of your eye that the man is still standing at the stall examining the merchandise. Though he's making no move to follow you, you're not completely convinced that he doesn't intend to and so begin winding through the bustling crowds in the hopes of losing him. Loretta is extremely suspicious by now, and though she doesn't say anything it's pretty clear that she's guessed why you're acting so strangely. When you're in the centre of the plaza she halts you in your steps and leads you off in another direction. A few minutes later you're wading through an even larger crowd of people in the royal fairground. Music is playing loudly, the screams of people fill the air as they experience the exhilarating thrill of the carnival rides, and next to a large tent nearby is a circus clown loudly proclaiming that tickets to the next big show are on sale and that there are only a couple of minutes left until it begins. Looking around, you notice the same man you'd seen earlier scanning the crowd as though looking for something; or someone. He hasn't seen you yet, but if he is indeed following you and Loretta you'll have to think quickly in order to evade him.

Loretta is the one who makes the decision, heading over and dropping some coins into the clown's hand. With the entry fee paid, she pulls you inside the tent where you find a large stage set up in its centre with several rows of seats surrounding it. This place can hold at least six hundred people, and just as you're wondering what to do next the lights go out leaving the inside of the tent in total darkness. A moment later a spotlight appears on stage while smaller beams scan across the crowd. A colourfully dressed man is standing on stage and begins to address the crowd. "Welcome to the 'Stars of Fantasia'!" he cries. "Today you'll experience the a magical hour of puzzles, acrobatic performances, Pok?mon taming, and MORE! To get this show started, please welcome 'Gandalf the Great' and his beautiful assistant, Telphia!" The crowd bursts into raucous applause as a magician and his assistant appear on stage. "So," Loretta asks with a cheeky smile. "Want to watch the show, or slip out the back?"

Forest of Mystery - Please reply in limegreen

S_M: Not wanting the fleeing person to escape, you instruct Ivysaur to go after them. She nods, racing toward the nearest tree and extending her vines. Latching on to an overhead branch, she begins to swing from tree to tree, Tarzan like, in pursuit of the runaway while Swellow makes use of her Quick Attack to try and head them off. Crashing through the trees with Buneary hot on your heels as you chase after your Pokémon, you hear a frightened yell before practically stumbling over a small boy whom Ivysaur has successfully managed to trap in her vines. Swellow is standing over the two of them, an expression of satisfaction in her eyes which tells you that her quick actions had aided Ivysaur with her capture of the child. Looking down at the boy, the first thing you notice is how filthy he is. He looks like he hasn't bathed in weeks, his tattered clothes making you wonder just how long he's been alone out here and what he's experienced in this Ariados infested forest. As you're examining him, his large brown eyes widen in shock, filling with horror. He opens his mouth and screams blue murder, but it only takes a moment for you to realise that it's not you he's screaming at. His eyes are focused on a spot over your shoulder, and while he struggles to escape from Ivysaur's grasp you come to the obvious, yet terrifying, conclusion that you must have some rather freakish company closing in on you...

Empyrean Mountain - Please reply in red

Inferno: Becoming rather frustrated with the fact that your mission isn't going as smoothly as planned, you immediately leap off of Arcanine's back so that she's able to battle unhindered. Figuring her to be a suitable match given the situation you're quick to issue your instructions, watching avidly as the battle begins. Arcanine moves quickly, her tail glinting with Steel energy as she rushes for Golem, spinning around and slamming her Iron Tail into the rock type for good damage. Golem's Roar of combined rage and agony echo's across the mountainside before it leaps into the air and comes crashing back down with Magnitude of seven. The earth rumbles, Arcanine feeling the vibrations ravaging her body while she struggles to keep her footing, but even though she's taken some damage from the attack she still manages to evade Golem's Rock Throw by Digging into the earth. Golem is peeved, and uses Rock Blast to hurl several large boulders into the ground to try and force her out. Arcanine isn't going to let Golem bully her into moving before she's ready, however, and a moment later bursts from the ground and slams into Golem using Rock Smash. Golem has taken some heavy damage so far but Arcanine hasn't exactly gotten off scot free either, and this battle has only just begun to heat up...

Incura Valley - Please reply in darkorange

Joshua: Nidoking releases a mighty Roar, stampeding forward and putting all of his Strength into a rampaging tackle. Metang finally takes a decent hit but before it can retaliate Shade lets loose with another freezing cold Ice Beam that smacks the ice type square in the face. Nidoking appears rather woozy now, but it doesn't stop him from spinning around and slamming his heavy Iron Tail into Metang who immediately hurls a Shadow Ball straight back at the enraged dad. Nidoking locks his gaze onto Shade and in a last ditch effort to try and kill two birds with one stone, spits out a strong icy cold gale of wind. His Blizzard washes over both Pokémon, Shade's Bubblebeam freezing solid before it can reach its intended target. It's too late for Nidoking though, as the beating it's taken combined with its depleted energy reserves cause it to keel over, KOed. Shade's win has helped him become stronger, a dark green aura surrounding him as he learns the egg move Imprison.

Meanwhile, Hayley and Miltank continue battling Nidoqueen who looks skyward before sending a Thunderbolt Hayley's way. The attack catches Hayley's tail, but thankfully her dual typing succeeds in protecting her from the attack. Hayley responds by saturating Nidoqueen with Water Pulse after which Miltank rams her with Body Slam. Nidoqueen, knowing she's about to be beaten, Crunches down hard on Miltank's leg which results in an agonised bellow echoing throughout the valley. Hayley makes her final move, dousing Nidoqueen with one final Water Pulse. Nidoqueen drops, KOed. A dark green aura surrounds Hayley as the battles comes to a conclusion. Her win has helped her to grow stronger resulting in her learning the egg move Fury Cutter.

"That was close," John sighs, returning his Metang while Elsa recalls Miltank. "It's going to get tougher from here on in though," he continues, his gaze turning toward the little Nidoran who had inadvertently caused all of the trouble. Not willing to leave the poor little thing sitting there crying its eyes out next to its two unconscious parents, John reaches into his pack and removes two strange looking herbs. "Revival Herbs," he says in response to your questioning gaze. "But we'd better make tracks before they wake up." Tossing the two herbs onto the ground next to Nidoking and Nidoqueen, John then turns his attention back to Nidoran. "This'll wake 'em up," he says with a smile, trying to help the distraught baby feel better. None of you stick around to watch the results, however, as you head further into the valley before the angry parents can resume their attack upon you.

Several minutes later you're standing at one end of a long, wooden bridge spanning Incura Canyon. There is a waterfall to your right which is cascading into the the fast flowing Incura River several hundred feet below. You can see several trails leading down the cliffside, but John and Elsa are not in the mood for sightseeing and immediately set off across the bridge. Unfortunately the bridge doesn't appear too stable, and a moment later your suspicions are confirmed when one of the boards cracks under the weight of John's Rapidash. The fire horse panics, rearing up and scaring Tauros who also panics. The results are catastrophic considering both Pokémon had been nervous enough by the sight of the water, but with the added panic associated with falling into that water, both become so fretful that their trainers are unable to control them. The narrow bridge is barely wide enough for one Pokémon let alone two, and when the cracked board along with two more fall out of the bridge beneath them, and they struggle to regain their footing, they barge into one another and fall over the side. Elsa and John react quickly, each returning their respective steeds to their Pokéballs, but that doesn't change the fact the two of them are now plummeting toward the raging river below...
