PokeRadar.

Has anybody else used this to find shinies? I used to be a nonbeliever of the whole "get your chain high and you'll have good chance of seeing a shiny" thing, but after hearing testimonies of people getting muliple shinies out of the same chain (at high streaks, of course) and my just now getting a shiny Corsola on a 48th streak (too bad Gastrodon broke the chain soon after ;;), I'm beginning to believe there's bit of truth to it. Of course luck still factors into it, but until it's actually confirmed whether or not radar chains affect the shiny appearance rate, I'll be off to chaining multitudes of Starlies and other Pokemon I long for a shiny of.

And for those who might not know what the hell I'm talking about:

Pay attention to the grass as the players use the radar.

Re: PokeRadar.

My excitement for shinies would be higher if most of the D/P Pokemon's shiny versions would have had more thought put into alternate color schemes aside from "a slight change of shade that you would never notice without the sparkly animation."

So yeah, no whoring out radar chains for me. But it does work if you have your heart set on a grass-catchable shiny.

Haha WORD. Garchomp, Bibarel, and Gastrodon's (both versions) families have awful shiny palettes since they all look the same. D8

At least most of the previous-gen pokes (including Eevee on a rare occasion) are radar-accessable and have lovely shiny colors; my new Corsola, for example, and I'm hot on the trail for a shiny Vulpix (silver Ninetales is my favorite shiny) and Skarmory.

I felt the power leave my legs as I read this. There goes my hopes for a shiny Vulpix. ¬¬

*doesn't own LG, so can only get Vulpix via importing*

Too bad PokeRadar only works in grass. It'd be nice to get shinies from the seas and caves.

Hey ... does anybody know if this trick works with Mesprit or Cresselia? :3 I still haven't caught mine yet ...

Nope. If the chain is broken your odds of seeing a shiny are reset. Also, Mesprit/Cress's stats (and I assume shininess) are set when you first set them running.

Re: PokeRadar.

Too bad all of Pearls Pokeradar guys are complete shit.

Also how do you not run into regular random pokemon? Highest chain I ever got was like 8 and it would get to the point where like 5 grass would shake alot and I'd have no fking clue which to get.

Re: PokeRadar.

Go to the patch that's farthest away and matches the patch you first entered (ergo, if you first entered a slow-shaking patch, continue entering those). If there's not a matching grass patch or you're not fond of where they showed up, walk around while avoiding those to recharge and activate the radar again (it won't reset your chain).
