Facial Hair
Having a beard is excellent.
I have a beard. Anyone else have a beard? Or moustache? Or any other facial hair? Also, anyone doing Movember or No-Shave November? This would also be a great place to collect excellent pictures of beards. |

I haven't shaved in a few weeks, so I've reached a certain level of facial hair. The problem is, there are certain parts of my face where it doesn't grow (notably between my mouth and cheek) so then I can't get a full beard. I'm going to just not shave over the whole winter to see if I can grow the extra bit in (and also to keep warm, its surprisingly helpful).

My facial hair doesn't grow much on my cheeks, nor does it connect my mustache to the lower beard. It sucks. I've noticed that my facial hair has been coming in better since I've been losing a lot of weight.
You should upload some recent beard pics to FB, Tdos =O |

I should probably upload new pics of myself on FB in general, but I feel weird uploading pictures that I took. I might post a pic of the lower part of my face in this thread to compare beards or something. For some reason I am more comfortable with UPN than FB.

I've got a beard and I'm too lazy to shave often and usually do it like once in 2 or 3 weeks. So it does grow a fair amount right before I shave it.

I can grow a not fully realized mustache if I don't shave for about two weeks. It must be nice being able to grow a beard. I'd like one.

I've got a beard and I love it. Unfortunately, my mustache and general goatee area doesn't grow too well so I'm stuck with the Amish look.

Well, I grow a beard decently. Recently shaved for no particular reason and all I currently have is a weird little soul patch/goatee type thing. Probably not going to shave for a while so I can put on my winter fur for warmth.

I currently am rocking the goatee + mustache + sideburns look, as the area in between refuses go grow as quickly as the rest. >>;

I just shaved my entire beard / mustache combo off. My face feels really cold and strange when I walk outside. So naked.

I heard "beard" and "naked" and sheer maleness. Who hath summoned me?
I have a nicely awesome beard, although it gets so curly. I have such curly hair, everywhere. Hard to tame, especially since I don't shave, like ever. I haven't shaved or trimmed my beard since... May, I think? All my stress takes a toll on my beard, though. I've noticed some grey roots, and I've been shedding. |

I've got a lot and I hate it. I love the clean shaven look, but I have to take my face to the razor too often than I'd like.
I've taken up tweezing the right side to make the hairs finer, so shaving isn't as painful and hypothetically I'd have to shave less. Thus far, I've noticed the hairs become more brittle, so there's definitely some effect to pulling them out, but they grow a LOT FASTER now. I'd like to take up waxing, but it's expensive.

Can't. I am a facial calico. You can't tell when I only go 2-4 days without shaving but starting around Day 5, when the hairs are around 5 to 6 mm long, you can tell: half of my facial hair is jet black and half of my facial hair is bleach blond. The longest I've let it grow out is ~30 days and everyone was begging me to shave it because it looked awful. If I had let it grow for, say, one year, it might've actually looked kinda cool, I guess. O_o Like a chocolate-and-vanilla swirl ice cream beard or something. XD But 30 days in what it looked like was like I had black hairs spaced abnormally far apart (because they are so black, and the blonde hairs so bleachy white, that the human brain just assumes they're not even there on first inspection), sort of like a pet cactus people keep in the office with those widely-spaced needles. Yeah. Not good. ^^; So I shaved it, much to the relief of staff, peers, and family.

I thought my brown/orange beard was mildly amusing, but black and bleach blonde just...I don't even.

Does the right side of your beard grow in thicker or faster, then? Because mine does. |

I typically shave like two/three times a week, and it maintains a student-acceptable level of stubble. My facial hair grows at a really shallow angle so even immediately after shaving (safety razor, for old fashioned manliness without the oh god where did my face go moments from a straight razor) you can tell where it grows as the area is a bit darker. Longest I've ever left it for it about ten days? At which point it was fairly beardy, although my hair growth (on top of my head too) isn't the thickest in the world.
Also annoying when shaving - I have a really prominent adams apple.

I haven't noticed it grow back thicker, some of the hairs have weakened, but not in the way I'd hoped. They become tougher to tweeze given how brittle they are.

Gee, Brain...

I'm currently trying to grow a beard. Unfortunately, instead of the monument to hyper sexuality I'd hoped for, it's frankly a bit shit. My hair grows evenly and in all the right places, it just looks...silly. A bit like Mr. Tumnus from Narnia except without the goatee bit
Is this to be expected of a mid-stage beard or is it time to get rid? |

Still, a surefire way of having all the girls (and some guys) fauning over you.

I wish I could grow a beard. Unfortunately I get muttonchops and a patch on my chin because there's a spot on my cheeks I can't grow hair on
It sucks. |

I just trimmed. Didn't end up going with the moustache only, and settled for simple length reduction and clean up.
Alas moustaches require a kind of courage I don't have. |

Very few men look better with just a mustache. Off the top of my head, Tom Selleck, Charlie Chaplin, Einstein.
