Superbowl Predictions: Saints vs Colts
Because you know what half of us are doing this Sunday.
My prediction goes to the Saints. Mainly because I live in Louisiana, but partly because I have faith that they can totally win. Predictions, everyone? |

WHO DAT SAYS THEY GOING TO BEAT DEM SAINTS? WHO DAT?!?
Well, as a resident of Louisiana and having been in the near New Orleans area all my life, I will of course be rooting for the Saints along with the rest of the Who Dat Nation ;D

Before the title games I would've predicted the Saints win by a Touchdown, but as it was it looked like the Saints were inferior to the Vikings and should have lost, if Brett Favre had not been their quarterback. The keys to the game will be which defense gets better pressure on the opposing Pro Bowl QB. The Colts defense is better than NO's, but I can't shake the feeling that somehow the Saints are going to win. I don't really have reason for it, so I won't be laying any money on the outcome, but that's my prediction all the same.
Dreams do come true in New Orleans.

Supporting whichever one Zora hates the most. What is Super Bowl anyway, again? Was it baseball or american football?

Saints.
I wanted the Vikings to win, but the Saints played good ball from what I heard (never got to see it, I was at work). My heart goes out to Louisiana.

They did not, the Vikings played terribly, turning the ball over 6 times, though they were still in position to win at the end due to the Saints offense repeatedly stalling.

And then the ageless wonder decided on the last Vikings play to throw an across the field/across the body (big football no-no) interception when the receiver looked like he never knew it was coming his way! The sad thing is Farve could've ran maybe 4-5 yards, as no one was in front of him, lobbed off the field and Longwell would've lined up for a money shot kick to win the game and stun the Saints... Unfortunately I am a Viking fan, and I know more than anyone that when it comes to the spotlight, Minnesota finds a way to ruin it like no other...(1998 NFC Championship as well, so sad) All that bitching aside, I pick the Colts to win. Their QB isn't a 40 year old graybeard who likes to get hurt alot. That and the Colts don't fumble as much. I think New Orleans needs the win alot more, but I just don't see it happening. ...I was livid for 2 hours after the NFC Championship game...GO COLTS! |

I hate both teams in the SB atm, it's just that I wanted a Vikings/Colts SB. Either way, I hate the colts less, so I pick them. and that last turnover made for a lot of yelling, cursing and general disbelief and anger in my dorm during the NFC Championship game. lol oh yeah. fuck you Zora, just fuck you- lol |

As for Favre's last pass (hopefully ever.) There's a reason I told Mozz on AIM as we were watching the game that there could be no more fitting a way to end his career. He could've easily run ahead, but his desire for personal glory always comes first. One of many reasons why there is no more overrated a player in the NFL's history than Brett Favre. That said, I was rooting for the Vikings in 98. The perfect kicker who missed the kick.

The Saints seemed to have problems keeping the Vikings out of the red zone all game, while the Vikings ended up turning over the ball when they had their big chances. Offensively, the Saints got stopped cold more than a few times against the Viking's defense, but overall played well. I think it's going to be a close game between the Colts and the Saints, but as said earlier, I have faith that the Saints can pull a win.

I was at work, but from what I heard it was a fantastic game. And seeing the highlights it's really exciting, too. Sitting here, eatin' food and drinkin' an ale, it's great!
