The Library

Rabid Squirrel and Cyprus ~Both of you sat in relative silence just enjoying the unexpected rest and warmth of the fire. Kami is the first to speak shifting in her sofa to face Cyprus who looks like he’s about to drop off any minute. He looked a little weird with his mouth agape staring at the spot where Giles was last standing however it unusual to have company in the Mansion and she spoke to him all the same. Introducing herself and her shy Giraferig who hid behind the sofa she asked what brought him to the Mansion and waited patiently for his response. She waited and began to think Cyprus hadn’t heard her, she was a little nervous around the newcomer which didn’t help but as she asked again she frowned as he continued to ignoring her looking around the Library in wonder. Maybe he was just plain rude! Meanwhile Cyprus was stuck in his own thoughts eyeing each and every book with wonder, he just couldn’t wait to get stuck in and find out what mysteries these tomes held. He made a mental note to ask Giles if there were any books on reviving fossils, Poketch applications,or a place called Elysia that you heard about on his travels.

Snapping out his stupor Cyprus turned to see Kami looking expectantly at him and smiled bashfully and apologised for ignoring her and introduces himself. She smiles back happy to have broken the silence at last and agrees with his statement of rest. Kami can’t help but get caught up in Cyprus’ enthusiasm as he gushes over the immense Library. Continuing their conversation they soon here the clanging of china as Giles remerges.

He steadily made his way over to you carrying a tray with a pots of tea and coffee and two cups and laden with cakes and biscuits. Placing them down in front of you both he puffs a little before smiling and gesturing to the treats he’s just brought.

“Well it seems that you’re already getting to know each other, that’s good. Oh ho you can never have enough friends. Now feel free to pour yourself a drink children, try some of my cakes they are rather tasty,” he adds grabbing a slice for himself and taking a big bite.

“You may both rest here as long as you like, a journey in this place is tiring enough without being exhausted when you start.” Upon seeing Cyprus eying the large collection of books Giles grins.

“If however you’d like to find something to read then I can accommodate that too. Is there anything in particular you’d like to read about both of you? This Library holds so many books I’m sure I can find something to your tastes”.
Cyprus, trying to keep his manners in order, politely asked for a coffee and a single cake. He was absolutely famished, but once again, for the sake of politeness, nibbled on the cake and took careful sips of the coffee. The coffee was especially pleasant, and he let its warmth flow through him. Though he may have been exhausted, Cyprus hoped that the coffee would provide a decent pick-me-up. After all, he had some reading to do!

"Sleep can wait for now, Sir Giles, this coffee is just what I needed. What I could really use is some reading material."

He gazed a moment at the expansive Library before continuing, "It looks like it would be quite a chore to search through your magnificent Library myself, so I'm hoping that you know where I could find a book on the land called Elysia, or more specifically, on the Rochester family? If it would help, I have in my possession a Pokemon that belonged to a Rochester," Cyprus held up his Gastly, Zultaire's Pokeball, "Zultaire may be able to fill you in on any details I'm unaware of. If it is not possible, however, I understand."

Putting away Zultaire's Pokeball for now, he continued, "I could also use a book on the research being done reviving Pokemon fossils, which I've been keeping track of for some time now," Cyprus finally shrugged, "Or recent Poketch advancements, I could always use an update on new technology."

Cyprus frowned a moment, remembering his manners, and bowed his head apologetically, "I apologize for asking so much of you, Sir Giles, but I rather enjoy books, and the knowledge they contain."

Directing his gaze at the Trainer across from him, he asked, "What about you, Ms. Kami? I certainly hope I'm not being too greedy with my selection. By all means, would you care to add to the reading material?"

Cyprus may have been tired, but his excitement, combined with a little caffeine was enough to fuel his passion for knowledge. Stumbling upon this Mansion could turn out to be the best thing for him, and the questions he's been dying to have answered!

Birdie peered over the tombstone and blinked in surprise as it finished the smile on the face it was spraying. She felt her mouth tug at the sides and giggles erupted before falling to the floor laughing for all she was worth. This place was scary for sure. You roll your eyes at her behaviour and though you were annoyed that your fear had gotten the better of you, you were relieved it wasn’t a ghoul or corpse you’d wandered onto. You demand that Birdie pulls herself together; this Aipom could still be vicious and attack at any moment, though it could know the way out of these grounds. Thinking about asking it you turn to Birdie to see her making her way over to Aipom with a Present in hand.

Aipom fell off the tombstone cursing over spilling its drink and looked up to see a Delibird standing before it holding out a glowing white orb placing it in its arms. Aipom muttered “Qu’est-ce que c’est?” as it held the orb that suddenly broke into thousands of pieces that were absorbed into its skin. It looked down at its hand before rubbing its head stopping as it noticed something unusual. It rubbed its head some more and grinned before leaping up and down shaking Birdie’s feathery wing.

“Stupefiant! Merci, merci my feathery friend you cured my migraine,” it said grinned like a lunatic before taking another swig of its whisky. “Ah ze sweet taste of Whisky zere is nothing like it. My name iz Louis,” he said as you walked out from you hiding place as it turned to face you.

“And you ‘ave a ‘uman friend, how nice?” he asked before sipping from the bottle again and you wonder if that headache is going to come back rather quickly.

“Oh where waz I?” he asks before putting the finishing touches to his graffiti singing up a song. He spies your disapproving look and snorts.

“Do not feel an ounz of pity for these people, all treacherous dirty soulz, I spitz on them. They do not dezerve to be remembered,” he spits before angrily spraying over the tombstone leaving it a pink squiggly mess. He mutters some French expletives before swigging from the bottle again stumbling a little moving onto the next tombstone and spray-painting a rather rude picture giggling at his work. Looking over his shoulder he blinks at you before turning back to his work.

“What are you doing in thiz ‘ere Cemetery with your ‘uman? There are ghoulieez here, tis not a nice place to be taking a walk” he asks nonchalantly not caring much for the answer but asking out of thanks for the gift Birdie gave him.
"Thank God that bomb didn't explode." Tim thought to himself as he got up and walked back over to Birdie and the once drunk Aipom. As Tim approached what looked like the Aipom thanking Birdie, he noticed that the Aipom's voice sounded off. As Tim walked closer, he realized that Aipom was speaking English with a french accent. "Wait! You can talk!?" Tim thought, which reminded him of a previous encounter with talking pokemon. "Maybe... could there be a ghost pokemon behind this?" Tim pondered. As the Aipom went on about his graffiti, Tim started to think, "Maybe it would have been better if that present exploded..." Tim tried to ignore that this Aipom was dishonoring a persons grave and asked "So how are you able to talk? Is there a ghost pokemon behind this?"

Kami gladly accepted a cup from Giles and quickly poured herself a cup of tea. The beverage thoroughly warmed the girl after just a few sips. The trainer grabbed a slice of cake and took a rather large bite before noticing how Cyprus slightly nibbled his instead. She blushed and began to take much smaller bites. The girl stuffed her mouth with a couple more slices of cake while looking on in wonder as Cyprus named off some topics he'd like to read on.

The male trainer looked over at Kami and asked, "What about you, Ms. Kami? I certainly hope I'm not being too greedy with my selection. By all means, would you care to add to the reading material?"

Kami took a moment to swallow her half-masticated cake before answering, "Well... Um.. Oh, you'll think I'm dreadfully silly, but ever since I was a little girl, I've wanted to learn magic spells or incantations. Anything with a wizard in it would suit me." The girl blushed as she said she unveiled her reading desires.

The Bathing Rooms

Psychopath ~ Glad you enjoyed ^-^

Your mind was plagued with awful images of horror and gore from too many movies and you felt your body react as your hairs stood on ends and your heartbeat quickened. Shaking you berated yourself for allowing the fear to overcome you but in a place such as this, it was hard not to. Entering the Main Pool Room you walk around the waters edge eyeing up the fountain, although it was in great disrepair and covered in moss you contemplate on how much effort must have gone into maintaining it. The pool would have looked stunning back in its prime but right now it certainly was sanitary to swim in. In the middle of your thoughts you’re struck down by a hard blast of water. Slamming the marbled floor your hiss and grasp at your arm the knock having caused waves of pain to shoot through it. Looking for the cause of the attack you’re struck again pushing you across the wet floor to the wall. Looking deep within the murky brown water you spot of red eyes glaring menacingly at you.

All thoughts of exploration leave your mind as you wonder if the creature beneath the water was hungry and visions of it tearing you limb from limb to satiate its hunger makes you shudder. Dripping wet you sneeze and wipe the disgusting water from your face and think over two choices, to fight or flee. Despite the unknown danger this possible monster could possess you choose to fight. You call on the tiny squirrel you had no long returned and set her loose once more. Thunderfuzz looked about not seeing that horrid creepy door she had last seen but rather a dirty pool and you holding your arm covered in the same coloured water. You explain to her that there is something in the water and although you know not what it is you guess it’s a water type creature. You instruct her to prepare for battle and in a flash her battle armour locks over her tiny body. You instruct her to prepare to dodge its attacks then strike back and lure it out of its murky hiding place.

Sachirisu Aran stood still and silent waiting for the monster to attack. A ripple in the water and a gust of the fetid substance flies towards her only for it to miss as she Quick Attacks out of the way. Stopping abruptly she powers up a Shadowball in her fist and throws it at the point where the jet of water had started. The ghostly ball smashes into the water most of it breaking up but some of the energy continued on and upon hearing a soft moan muffled by the water you suspect that it hit its target. Striking while the iron was hot she powered up a cannon on her arm and from within shot a molton hot Flamethrower that hit the spot where the monster was. Almost all the flames fizzled out at contact with the water but some ignited the film on its surface causing a blazing inferno to start covering the entire pool.

You and your Pachirisu stand back feeling the heat of the flames become stifling. Looking at the chaos you caused you feel a lump in your throat, one that only intensifies as a large glob of what looks like Ink is fired from under the water hitting the flames and igniting before striking Sachirisu Aran throwing her back along the marble floor. The heat makes her armour unbearable to wear and she feels the hot metal burning her skin. Whatever creature you were fighting it sure wasn’t backing down, even surrounded by flames.

Tyson watched as the hyperactive squirrel changed into battle mode, he would never know how she learned to do that, jumping in the air then spinning at a rapid speed and landing with the suit on. He afterall had just bought the suit from a questionable scientist in Salin City. This is no time for that, I'm fighting for survival. Tyson thought as he caught himself wondering off. Before he knew it Thunderfuzz was off and the whole room was up in flames. Tyson hadn't imagined anything like this occuring. Quickly his mind was off, and he knew it was time to go full tilt. Looking back at Thunderfuzz with a worried look Tyson yelled in question: "Are you sure you want to fight?" This hit her pride, but she nodded. "Are you sure, you want to? There are four others who can do the job." It just shrugged, and Tyson knew what it was thinking. "Because I couldn't bear to see you get hurt, that's why! Fine I'll let you battle, but if it goes too far we're calling it quits."

Thunderfuzz looked at Tyson awaiting orders in an I-can-do-it sort of way. Tyson saw the squirrel and knew it right away: She wanted to prove herself. Tyson's brain in a blurr came up with a plan. "First, remove that suit, if you burn up I won't have an awesometastic blue squirrel to love and train anymore." Tyson exclaimed. It was one thing to let your pokemon get hurt, it was another to let them die. Tyson eyed his surroundings looking for anything that might be able to end the blazing inferno. Then he remembered the statue. "Thats it! That statue must be very heavy, if you can break it and it falls into the water the splash might be big enough to end the fire! Since your flamethrower is out of the question how about you use a Shadow Ball to break it?" If this worked Tyson didn't need to worry about the wildfire anymore. The next part of the plan would be a little more difficult.

"Next, I want you to get close to the pool and jump in!" Tyson looked at Thunderfuzz who had a 'wtf' look on her face. "Look, when you're in there you have a chance to damage it with Spark, electricity is conducted in water, so you would have a clear shot!" Thunderfuzz just kept looking at Tyson in confusion, clearly she wasn't a science wiz. "Look, if we wait here while I explain this to you whatever is in the water could very well come out and eat us." Then Tyson remembered Pachirisu's inability to swim for long periods of time. "When you go in there I want you to Quick Attack when you're done with that Spark. If you stay in there too long the creature might get you and drag you down. That would be an end. A horrible end."

Tyson had just turned Thunderfuzz into a semi-kamakazee bomber, it was a suecidal mission, a double edged sword. Succeed and the creature would be injured deeply, on the other hand if she failed there would be terrible repricousions, perhaps even death. Tyson imagined it: Thunderfuzz struggling and yelping as her leg is pulled down into the murky water, giant air bubbles coming from under the water and then stopping: Thunderfuzz's breath having run out, then red bubbles in the water. I need to stop this, I can't imagine the worst. I must hope for the best. Before Thunderfuzz ran to follow its commands Tyson asked one thing to the squirrel: "Are you sure you want to do this? If you die in there I won't know what to do." Tyson said as a tear streamed down his cheek. Thunderfuzz's expresion was simple: 'Let's roll'. She was going to prove to her trainer that she was a winner!

The Music Room

Jerichi ~The song had you captured and as it finished you feel a little regret wanting to hear more. The harp had played itself that and as you gave it close attention you could see no tricks to indicate otherwise. The giggle that tickled your ear made you stop to reconsider and although it didn’t sound malicious it made you nervous. The harpist’s stool slowly slid over to you and you eyed the harmless item warily and it gave another shuffle towards you as the giggle erupts again. Whatever was in this room wanted you to play the harp and you had absolutely no idea how. Sitting down on the stool you look at Snowy hopelessly, hoping he could advise you. He stared at the unusual instrument and asked you to lift him up. Sighing you place him on your shoulder and he reaches out unable to reach the strings with his short arms. You had only ever played a wooden flute once before and this instrument appeared more technically difficult. Hoping it would just come to you as you played you felt the strings plucking one hearing the note play out.

Randomly strumming you wince at the awful mixed sounds that are formed and begin to think this is a bad idea. Stopping you sit a little dejectedly when a voice whispers in your mind, “try again,” You should be spooked by the unknown voice but its so calm and warm that you listen and hold your arms out. Reaching out and strumming the strings you feel a warmth wrap around your arms and guide them to the right notes. Playing expertly you hear a soft gentle song, a song created by you and close your eyes feeling a swell of happiness suddenly overcome you. Your fingers strum each string in perfect harmony and feel Snowy humming along to the sweet tune, swaying back and forth on your shoulder. Suddenly the warmth leaves your arms and you stop playing regretfully not wanting to ruin such a beautiful creation.

You feel a presence near your free shoulder and turn around slowly to see a small purple ghost floating nearby, the blue glow slowly leaving its eyes. The Misdreavus smiles warmly at you and giggles again almost reading your thoughts. It floats off past you and towards the small stage using its Psychic abilities to pull on the cords to open the curtains. Behind the curtains was the remains on a theatre set that displayed a night sky dotted with bright stars. A lone microphone stood on a stand in the centre and Misdreavus floated over to hover behind it.

“May I sing for you?” it asks you psychically a pink tone flushing up its cheeks.
Link's in my sig, next to the word "Regis." Where it says ", lol."

At first, Tetsu's fingers awkwardly strummed at the harp. The sounds produced from the silvery strings were harsh and discordant, as his inexperience with music, especially things like the harp, gave him no place to start. Withdrawing his hands from the instrument, Tetsu sighed and scratched his head, feeling somewhat disheartened. From out of nowhere, however, a soft voice whispers, Try again, and, for whatever reason, Tetsu feels inclined to take its suggestion. Once again, he reached out to the strings, but this time, his arms felt warm and his fingers tingled slightly as his hands were guided to the strings as if by magic. A harmonious chorus sung from the shining strands, and filled the room, echoing beautifully as the overtones rang in Tetsu's ears. Suddenly, as the song finishes its phrase, the sensation fades, and Tetsu's arms stop their enchanted movements. Tetsu pulled his hands away from the harp, not wishing to sour the song with any more discordant notes.

Suddenly, Tetsu felt an eerie presence right behind his shoulder, though it seemed to be strangely friendly, and emanated an aura not unlike that which guided his hands a moment ago. Turning, he found a Misdreavus floating at his side, a blue glow fading from its eyes as it smiled and giggled happily, floating towards a small stage in another part of the room. Telekineticly, the playful spirit pulled the curtain cord, revealing a somewhat broken, but still brilliant night scene, and a single microphone sitting center stage.

May I sing for you?, it inquired telepathically.

Tetsu paused a moment to consider the offer. He had heard of this particular ghost-type and of its haunting songs, and while some dubiousness tugged at his mind, he threw caution to the wind, curious of the specter's song.

"Sure, I'd love to hear." Tetsu replied, smiling softly and nodding.

No one deserves such a fate no matter what they had done in the past. With his corpse here it was safe to assume that none of his family, if he had any, knew about his death and perhaps you were the only witness to his passing. Closing your eyes and bowing your head in respect you whisper a soft prayer your Pokemon following suit. After your small offering you suddenly feel an ice cold touch on you neck and startled from your peace look up only to see a shadow flit through the fog and out of sight. Both Kief and Gumpy looked to where the shadow had disappeared with concern especially consider what they had found so far in this village. Kief seemed ready to tear any threat apart but as he coughs again the fog burning into his lungs you see to it that he’s protected and return him to his Pokeball.

Pulling a second Pokeball from your bag you release its occupant, a vibrant Delibird that assaults his trainer with an enthusiastic hug not yet taking in his new surroundings. Managing a smile and tickling Custard under his chin you express your similar sentiments at seeing him again. Prying the penguin off you, you ask him to use a move called Defog to remove the nasty substance filling the air of the village. Turning to Gumpy you ask him to be ready to protect you all with Sludge Bomb should the owner of that shadow be revealed. Both were more than happy to oblige and placing the feisty penguin down he moved forward for some space and quickly began to beat his wings the harsh winds emitted pushing through the thinning the fog significantly. Custard had to flap his wings for a good few minutes to rid the air of the grey fog and bent over breathing hard rubbing his sore limbs.

You tear your gaze from your aching Delibird to scour the surroundings for anything that dared to move. The village now sat in all its crumbling glory and some of the buildings nearby had lost more stones and mortar in Custards attack but nothing else moved, everything sat silent as it had always been prior to your arrival. Not dropping your guard for a second you thank Custard for his efforts and begin to move on through the village giving one last look to the twisted corpse as you move onto a new street.

The buildings here were small and constructed of very simple materials. They appeared to be for the poorer people in this village’s society yet they stood strong unaffected by time and destruction. The doors were made of a thick wood and stood on rusty hinges. Painted across each one of the doors oddly were red crosses, it looks like these homes were marked but for what reason? Daring to push inside one you find it jammed shut and upon closer inspection see that it has been sealed from the outside with an old form of cement. Moving over to another home you find it in the same state, its doors and windows sealed and boarded up. You inspect another 7 homes to find them all the same but as you come across the last house, its door with a red cross painted on you find it open, the cement like material that had sealed it been forced open. Walking inside you come to a small living area with modest features most of which were rotted beyond recognition. There were 3 more rooms leading off, one to a kitchen with the smell of rotting food making your stomach turn; another room contains what appears to be a bathroom and you quickly leave that one, not daring to venture inside to see historic sewage works and the final room is a bedroom with several bed crammed inside. Walking inside you find yourself for the second time in one day holding back a scream as the sight of 5 corpses in a similar state to the last one huddled together. They appeared to have suffered the same fate as the man you had found and their nearly decomposed bodies were clinging to one another in desperation.

Fighting back tears at the awful sight you hear Gumpy call from outside having kept guard sounding alarmed. You run out to see him pointing down the street to see the thick grey fog returning once more and with great speed, and unusually it was rising not descending. This was no ordinary fog that was for sure.
Eager to fulfill his trainer’s orders, Custard waddled forward to gain some room in which to perform his subsequent move. Carefully setting his burlap sack down beside him, he braced himself as he began to flap his wings forcefully, creating a powerful draft which steadily pushed back the mist by degrees following each successive beat. Jessica and Gumpy meanwhile stared intensely into the receding wisps of fog with guarded suspicion, warily watching for any signs of movement. After a few minutes, Custard had finally managed to clear the area entirely of the final lingering remnants of persistent smog, and all that remained was a much clearer image of the collapsed buildings surrounding the group. Jessica gazed around the vicinity with caution, not daring to trust the stillness for even a second. However, nothing appeared to stir, other than some loose bits of stone and mortar which had shifted a little due to the strong wind.

Jessica finally consented to turn her attention back towards her tired penguin, who had immediately slumped forward at the conclusion of his taxing endeavor, his limbs completely exhausted from the effort. Still keeping an eye on the shadows cast by the broken structures, Jessica remained vigilant as she soothingly ruffled the penguin’s head feathers by way of thank you. She allowed him a minute to recover his energy before moving on, permitting him to walk instead of fly for a while to avoid putting far too much strain on his body. Casting one last respectful look at the twisted body lying dead upon the pavement, the girl shuddered and took a deep breath as she stepped boldly over it, continuing on down the road towards the next street without glancing back. Her Pokémon shuffled hastily after their trainer, glad to get away from the rotting corpse as they turned a corner and it immediately left their sight, disappearing from their vision as if vanishing from existence altogether.

The new district they had entered appeared to be built for the poorer residents of society – that is, when society had actually existed in this now seemingly barren settlement. She had temporarily forgotten the town’s desertedness when she noticed the condition of the diminutive, simple structures lining the street in a tight, congested fashion: Despite their fundamental shoddiness, the houses still appeared relatively sturdy and nearly untouched by time aside from their rusty door hinges. As she examined the rows of firmly shut entrances, all nearly identical in appearance, she observed that they were comprised of thick, heavy wood, which outwardly suggested to Jessica that they survived in order to bar her admission, or any visitors’ for that matter. What made it more strange was the fact that there was a symbol painted in red on each door; it looked similar to a cross, appearing almost bloody due to its garish color and haphazardly smeared texture over the wood. As she stared at the mark while debating what it could possibly mean, her face suddenly grew pale as she recognized the character’s current religious significance, and Jessica began to wonder if it was more than just a coincidence that she had been praying to God earlier. Her Pokémon witnessed her amazed expression with a level of alarm and concern for the girl – both were completely unknowledgeable about the concept of religion, as one would expect.

The girl shook her head, and possessed by a desperate desire to know the truth, she daringly reached out to urge one of the doors open and glimpse intrepidly into its restricted enclosure. As she pressed hard on the wood however, she encountered a solid resistance, and upon closer examination she realized that the entryway been completely sealed around the frame with what looked like cement. An ominous feeling began to well up within the girl as she wandered down the street, testing each individual home and encountering solid refusal to her access each time. She noticed that even the windows were sealed and boarded up, denying her any peek into their indomitably concealed space. She frowned, beginning to feel frustrated and rejected by the house’s impenetrable souls. She yearned to know all of their secrets, yet she had no idea why such a thing meant so much to her.

Now devoid of prospect, she came up to the last house on the corner of the street, and to her surprise she found that the door had already been pried open. Inspecting the seal around the door, she found to her shock that it had been forced apart, and a troubled sense of foreboding again began to rise in her stomach. She ordered Gumpy to stay outside the entrance and keep watch for anything suspicious, to which he responded with a silent nod. She and Custard stepped cautiously inside the house, entering into a small living area that proclaimed modesty even when it was once probably occupied by a larger family than it could bear, for she knew the impoverished were usually forced to reside in exceedingly overcrowded conditions, hardly able to afford the basic cost of capacious housing.

In contrast to the building’s nearly pristine exterior, its interior rooms were mostly rotted beyond recognition. Three doorways led from the cramped foyer to even smaller attachments, and Jess peered curiously into each one while Custard stood anxiously by the front door, wrinkling his nose at the putrid smell that overbearingly permeated the entire house. The first door she tried led to a tiny kitchen filled with the rancid stench of perished food, causing her stomach to turn as she stared in absolute horror at the unspeakably filthy countertops. Giving an automatic repulsed shudder, she turned to investigate the next area, which turned out to be a lavatory. She hastily departed that room and shut the door, having no desire to explore the inner workings of historic sewage systems.

Finally she turned towards the last door, and taking a deep breath, she carefully twisted the handle and entered slowly into the chamber, steadfastly bracing herself for the next revolting image. What she then faced was far more sickening than anything she could ever have anticipated. Lying atop several beds crammed tightly inside the confined compartment were five separate corpses, their mangled bodies huddled so close together that they almost appeared as one. Jessica’s hand flew to her mouth as she suppressed a loud scream, bending over and clutching her stomach as she feared she might be sick. Tears welled up in her eyes as she noticed the carcasses’ enduring desperation, clutching one another in persistent terror as their being continued to gradually decay. This was too much. She turned and ran from the room, forcefully slamming the door shut on the gruesome image and startling Custard, who immediately sensed his trainer’s distress and flew swiftly to the girl’s aid, obstinately ignoring his fatigue in favor of Jess’s wellbeing.

Before she could reassure him, they both heard Gumpy’s warning call from outside, and the two rushed out to see what the matter was. Their third companion’s round eyes were widened with alarm as he pointed urgently at the corner of the street, where tendrils of grey fog had emerged unexpectedly from behind a building, creeping steadily towards the group with what almost felt like a malicious intent. Jessica watched in horror as it approached with great alacrity, rising smolderingly from the pavement rather than descending gradually from a height. She began to sense something highly unnatural about the smog, as did her partners, who shied away this time in dread.

Jessica glared accusingly at the dark cloud, her eyes narrowed with suspicion. Her hand hovered towards a Pokéball, but stopped, remembering the personality of the Pokémon housed inside. She frowned, unsure if it would really be a good idea to expose the poor creature to this threatening environment, especially considering how little time the two had spent together before now. This could very well make a lasting negative impression on her, which was the last thing Jess wanted to provide for her Pokémon. However, as she gazed at the vile haze drawing progressively closer to them, panic overcame her and she threw the ball onto the street, instantly releasing a Furret onto the scene via a flash of light. The timid creature glanced nervously about as she realized her surroundings, confused by the abundant images of devastation and decay. Her ears jerked intuitively as she immediately sensed danger, and she ran to hide behind the familiarity of her trainer, her fur bristling with utter terror.

Jessica bent down and embraced the quivering ferret, trying desperately to soothe her. “It’s okay, Kanna. Nothing’s going to hurt you.” The trembling died down a bit as the Furret felt the girl’s warmth comfortably envelop her, though her tail still oftentimes twitched spasmodically. Jessica held the Pokémon close, gently whispering into the mammal’s ear. “Sweetie, I need you to use FORESIGHT to examine that fog. Can you please do that for me? You can go right back into your ball afterwards where you’ll be safe, I promise.”

The Furret paused for a moment, then hesitantly nodded. Jess let go of her and allowed her to slink timorously onto the pavement, where she faced the encroaching mist with some degree of resolution. Jessica readied Kanna’s Pokéball to recall her as soon as she had identified the fog, and she then turned towards her remaining Pokémon, who unfalteringly regarded their trainer with determined expressions.

“Gumpy, be prepared with SLUDGE BOMB again. Custard, be ready as well with ICY WIND to back him up.”

The two Pokémon nodded, and Jessica backed up slightly, poised to act as well in case nothing worked. If their attacks didn’t hinder the cloud’s progress, she would withdraw all three of her Pokémon and try to run. This place was giving her the creeps, and again she had no desire to end up looking similar to the several corpses she had seen so far, whose deaths she began to suspect were indeed related to this menacing fog that refused to leave her alone.

This isn’t the first time that you’ve travelled here but since its rebirth the Mansion seemed more alive than ever before. Its walls oozed evil intention and vile history and you could feel the vibe even from the distance as you stood behind the gates. You had not come here with intentions as such other trainers had, no you held in your hand an invitation one seldom given away. Despite your prize you had yet to decide whether it would prove to be worth entering the dark decrepit building for it. You certainly weren’t superstitious but the Mansion had this effect on everyone that travelled near it. You didn’t believe in otherworldly appearances but now with your tarot card in your hand you certainly had the opportunity to find out.

Walking through the open gates guarding the Mansion you head up its long path that leads to the main building. The rain had slowed to a stop now but the dark grey clouds remained stopping any sunlight that would dare to shine down on this unholy building. You feel a tingle of excitement at the thought of having your future read and as you reach the double doors you manage a small smile before you enter inside. Pushing through the doors you stop to take in how miserable the Mansion really looks before looking around for a sign of where Claire Voya may be hiding. Looking down the West Wing and East Wing you see no sign of her or a room where she may reside. You’re about to travel up the rotting wooden staircase when you hear a click straight ahead. An invisible door slowly opens a crack, enough for you to see pink light shining through. Located under the stairwell and hidden from sight it’s no wonder you didn’t spot it.

Opening the door wide you enter a quaint little room swathed in red and pink material. A small round table sit in its centre with a crystal ball on a navy blue velvet cushion. Two small but comfy looking chairs sit on either side, the roof is high enough to stand, only just and there is room enough for a small table and a locked chest beside it. The door behind you suddenly closes and you turn around a little spooked only to turn back and nearly back into the door with shock. A woman in her mid 20’s sat on one of the chairs facing you. She was wearing black silk robes that clung well to her form. Her long purple hair had one vivid blonde streak and one black streak on either side. She opens her eyes a bright violet as they scour your form and waits for you to move. Almost forgetting why you had come you give Claire the tarot card and she looks at it thoughtfully before gesturing for you to take a seat.

Doing so you watch as she places the card on the side before pulling her own pack of tarot cards from her pocket and shuffling them with ease.

“You have come to have your fortune read, you would not possess the card if that were not so,” she states and you merely nod in response. She spreads out the cards before her and her hand hovers over them her eyes closed as she concentrates. She turns over a card and places it before you.

“The Chariot shows that you have overcome many struggles in your past with success, it tells me that you’re a person who will persevere, see a goal through to fruition. She places another card beside it.

“The High Priestess tells me that there is something hidden within you that you have yet to discover but with patience all secrets will be revealed.” Placing a third card opposite it she explains its meaning.

“The Tower … mmm interesting. There is a drastic change to happen soon in your future, something that may overthrow your current way of life,” upon seeing your concerned look she softens a little. “But in the end it will result in enlightenment and freedom … interesting.” Finally she places the last card opposite the first but pauses then inverts it.

“Strength, it would indicate that you were full of courage and fortitude and power but the spirits told me to reverse it. Now it means failure, defeat, pessimism and an inability to act. This certainly is interesting” but you can’t help but feel disheartened by the last card. Claire mumbles to herself as she picks even more cards but places them to one side her gaze falling to the chest against the wall. She draws ‘The Lovers’ and mutters “difficult decisions”, then draws the ‘Death’ card and mutters “new life” draws once again this time ‘The Star’ and whispers “Hope” before drawing one last card, ‘The World’ “fulfilment” she whispers trying to hide her awe at the divination she just performed.

Looking to the chest she moves forward in her seat grasping your hands in hers and places them over the crystal ball whilst chanting in an unknown language.

“Change is about to occur, for you and I and you must be prepared. You need more strength as the spirits have informed us with the card. Strength I can give to you and your team.” As she finishes chanting all your Pokeballs glow pink before returning to normal.

“A gift to you to help you manage this change and face the challenge,” she says.

Each of your Pokemon (everyone under Lv. 100) have gained 3 levels: Charizard, Umbreon, Dratini, Feebas, Grovyle, Gyarados, Altaria, Gible, Turtwig, Scyther and Stunky.

You feel that your team as a whole has become stronger and turn to face Claire to see her chanting something else into her crystal ball. Darkness oozes out and begins to cover you, it felt like treacle but was the consistency of light. You panic and shout out as you feel the darkness begin to cover you and the last thing you see before it seeps into your eyes and mouth is Claire mouthing “please succeed” as the world turns black and a crushing weight encompasses your body.

You wake up a while later, you can’t tell how much time passed but you were in a small dark room. The stone floor is slightly damp and very hard. Pushing up you wince, your chest feeling like your ribs have been crushed in a vice as you try taking slow steady breathes. Cursing Claire for putting you in position you manage to make it to your feet and look at the new surroundings. Tall walls of stone reached up high making it unable to see over though you could tell that you were outside, the sky was clear with bright stars shining down upon you. There was heavy looking door made of metal at the end of the room and it appears to be your only exit. You can only wonder what this challenge and change is that she spoke of.
The Mansion is giving off a darker vibe than Kim remembers from her last visit, but being wary of danger doesn't mean she's afraid. She has Absol to guide her if things get hairy, he was caught here about four years ago so even though he's been raised in the outside world this house was his first home and he'll know its secrets. Finding Claire Voya's room hidden beneath the stairs was a task, but now that she's here Kim is more sceptical than before. The room is decorated as she'd imagined, complete with the trademark crystal ball sitting on a velvet cushion, but Claire is younger than she had thought. She'd expected a wrinkled old woman to be waiting for her, draped in star patterned robes and wearing cheap costume jewellery, but the young woman wearing tailored black silk robes makes her feel better about being here.

Kim hands over her Tarot Card and sits down at Claire's invitation, smiling while the young woman pulls a pack of Tarot Cards from her pocket and starts shuffling them. She doesn't believe Claire will tell her anything of importance so she'll take it all with a grain of salt. Astrology, tarot cards, prophecies, they're all the same, so vague that any event can be twisted to interpret 'true' meaning into them. She smiles and listens politely when Claire lays the cards out on the table, turning over the first one and placing it in front of her.

“The Chariot shows that you have overcome many struggles in your past with success, it tells me that you’re a person who will persevere, see a goal through to fruition.”

Every person during their life has had to struggle with something, so the first part of her fortune can be interpreted to fit anyone who walks into the room. Perseverance is a trait any successful Pokemon Trainer will possess, so no surprises here either. Claire turns the next card while Kim listens intently.

“The High Priestess tells me that there is something hidden within you that you have yet to discover but with patience all secrets will be revealed.”

Another vague reading that will suit any young person. Kim is still young and knows there is still much she needs to learn and to discover about herself in her future years. So far she has heard nothing that has convinced her of there being any validity to this reading, but it's only the beginning so she'll give Claire a chance to prove there is more to the cards. Claire places a third card opposite the High Priestess and explains its meaning.

“The Tower … mmm interesting. There is a drastic change to happen soon in your future, something that may overthrow your current way of life.”

Kim frowns. Change is a natural part of life, some changes being more drastic than others. She's naturally laid back and takes things as they come, adjusting her lifestyle where necessary, but the term "overthrow" seems a little dramatic. She worries for her Pokemon, for her family and friends, and trusts that things will work out in the end. Claire can see the concern on her face and softens a little, continuing with the rest of her explanation.

“But in the end it will result in enlightenment and freedom … interesting.”

Enlightenment and freedom is an interesting viewpoint, as Claire has said. Enlightenment can refer to learning through the trials faced, but "freedom"? That's a curious phrase to use and Kim has a feeling it will keep eating away at her until she finds a way to explain why this word would be used. Finally Claire places the last card opposite the first, but pauses then inverts it.

“Strength, it would indicate that you were full of courage and fortitude and power but the spirits told me to reverse it. Now it means failure, defeat, pessimism and an inability to act. This certainly is interesting.”

Kim frowns again. She doesn't like being told what "will" happen because she doesn't believe that a person's future is already written. Life is what we make of it so to believe your decisions are not your own, that you're following a pre-determined course already set out for you, is not something she is willing to embrace. Claire seems troubled by the reading though, drawing more cards from the deck and muttering to herself while turning them over. The Lovers followed by Death, The Star, and The World are placed on the table. Kim listens, interested yet sceptical, while Claire whispers “difficult decisions, new life, hope”, and “fulfilment”. Kim doesn't understand what it means for her reading, but Claire is definitely of the opinion that something awesome has come out of it which makes her uneasy. The young woman reaches forward and takes her hands, placing them over the crystal ball in the middle of the table while she begins chanting. Kim wants to pull away, but is fascinated by the young woman's urgency, part of her starting to believe in Claire's psychic ability, but the sceptical part of her convinced the woman is putting on a show to make her act more believable.

“Change is about to occur, for you and I and you must be prepared. You need more strength as the spirits have informed us with the card. Strength I can give to you and your team.”

As Claire finishes chanting all of Kim's Pokeballs glow pink before returning to normal.

“A gift to you to help you manage this change and face the challenge,” she says.

It has to be a parlour trick, but Kim's scepticism is finally starting to fade. Claire Voya is either one very talented con artist, or she's the real deal, and Kim is leaning toward believing the latter. If the Pokeball trick hadn't convinced her, the shroud of darkness oozing out of the crystal ball has. She can feel it surrounding her, entering her, and she's terrified. She wants it to stop, but has no control over it, and is unable to escape. She sees Claire mouthing the words "please succeed" before her world turns black.

Waking up a while later, Kim winces when she tries to get up. Her chest and ribs feel like they've been crushed in a vice, and the cold stone floor is making it worse with the dampness seeping through her clothes. Cursing Claire, she gets up slowly, stretching her aching body and taking slow steady breaths while she looks around. "Here you are, you've won a prize," Kim mutters angrily. "Go and have your fortune read by a crazy woman who'll send you to hell." Massaging her cramped muscles, Kim moans as her body protest against her movements. "What was I thinking?" she mumbles, looking up at the tall stone walls surrounding her. "At least we're outside," she mutters, glancing at the stars shining in the night sky. "The walls might be too high to see over, but they're not too high to fly over." Removing Charizard's Pokeball from her pocket she releases him, glad of his company after such an eventful evening.

"We're in strife Charizard," she says, patting his neck. "I don't know where we are or how we've gotten here, but we need to get out. We could fly, but I'd rather walk because I need to warm my muscles after being passed out on this cold floor. We'll try the door first, but if it doesn't open I'd like you to try breaking it down using Mega Kick. If it still doesn't open we'll fly over the wall."

Walking to the door Kim thinks of the challenge Claire had mentioned and hopes this isn't the first of a series, but if it is she'll face it because she's not letting any fortune tell her that she's going to fail. She's going to get out of this, one way or another.

Some brave and ready for adventure, some too curious for their own good and some too foolish to think twice about its past. A girl approached the ominous Mansion and looked like she belonged. Attired in a black dress with white lacy detailing she looked akin to a maid, very similar to ones once employed in the very building she approached. Her dark black dyed hair was tousled gently in the wind and a quite shrill accompanied it, almost if the Mansion was pleased to see her here. A small pink kitten Pokemon padded alongside her on the worn road leading to the rusty steel gates. She released another Pokemon, a small Torchic to walk alongside the Skitty talking amongst themselves.

Passing through the gates finding them already open and silently walked through the grounds away from the main building. The grasses were overgrown and at times you lost sight of your Pokemon but their soft talking alerted you to their position. Walking East through the rough grounds you emerge to a clearing and in the distance spot what looks to be a disused Playground. Despite its state of disrepair you seemed quite pleased to have found a place of fun; it would be a nice place to bond with your young Pokemon. In fact they had already bounded towards it and you slowly follow and begin to appreciate the enormity of it. The Playground was quite huge, so large in fact you couldn’t see to the end where the shadows of the Mansion swathed it. Catching up to Yuzuriha and Hinote you find them climbing up a set of rusty steps on a large slide before sliding down the products of its neglect coating their fur and feathers. The slide was made of metal and painted pink and black. Nearby was a roundabout in red and black, the rust having eaten away at some of the safety bars and possibly the mechanisms underneath; it was a good guess that it wouldn’t be safe to ride. The ground was covered with a soft black tarmac that had plants and weeds growing through the gaps, a set of swings with black seats had vines entangled around the support frames. A sandbox was a mixture of sand, dirt and an ugly dark red substance.

Yuzuriha and Hinote had moved on from the slide to the roundabout and tried to push it around to find it broken sadly. A soft screech of metal moving sounds and you spot the swing moving back and forth gently as if someone had been pushing it. Turning back to watch your Pokemon play on the slide again becoming more rust covered every time they awkwardly slid down. The noise sounded again and you see the swings moving again but you’re drawn back to your Pokemon when they notice your attention was not on them.

“ The eensy weensy spider
Crawled up the water spout”

A voice sang as the swings moved back and forth again. This time you’re shocked to see a young girl dressed in a pure white dress with long black hair, swinging back and forth on the once empty seat.

“Down came the rain
And washed the spider out”

A small Abra sits on her lap its eyes closed as it happily listens to her sing.

“Out came the sun and dried up all the rain”

She sang on before she suddenly stops and both she and Abra turn to face you. Her eyes are pure white as if no soul resided within. They both stare at you and you feel your heart beast quicken, what was it about this girl that made you nervous and where had they come from?
The maid looking brunette watched her Pokemon play on the slide and the roundabout. The two Pokemon looked so happy and seemed to enjoy being around each other to play with. They were just like best friends, playing around on the roundabot together, doing things together. She heard a sound, a voice, singing in the Playground.

She turned around to the place where the sound was the distinctively louder than the other parts of the playground, the swings. There it was, the owner of the voice was on the swings. That girl, she looked different to Arashi. She was dressed in a pure white dress and looked all so pretty there.

That girl continfued singing the song, the eensy weensy spider. She sang it in such a way that Arashi was nervous, scared yet mesmerized at the same time. An Abra appeared on her lap and they looked at the girl.

Pure white pupils.

She really was a beautiful girl but there was something off about her. How did she suddenly appear there, along with her Abra? Magically appearing in thin air? Her Pokemon were curious, they didn't seem so scared compared to her. She held the Pokeball of her Beautifly tight in her right hand in case she faced an opponent stronger that was stronger than Hinote and Yuzuriha.

Arashi was shaking nervously, also slightly with fear as well. She was wondering how she should interact with the girl. It was rare that you'd see a person with pure white pupils, dressed in such a pretty dress, looking so elegant yet childish on the swings.

"Who are you?" The brunette asked the girl on the swings, oh so curious about who she was. There were a million questions on her head like how did she get here, why was she here, etc. Starting with the basic would be the best though.

The girl awaited a response from the other girl, nervously, while her Pokemon mewed and chirped rather happily, wanting to make friends with that Abra apparently.

The weight of the world, like all my screaming has gone unhe

The Library

Rabid Squirrel and Cyprus ~ Both of you are glad to see Giles return especially considering what he brought with him and eye up the treats hungrily. Cyprus despite his hunger tried to maintain his manners and poured himself a cup of coffee and took a slice of cake though right now he felt like he could eat it all. Kami poured herself a cup of tea and took a slice of cake for herself wolfing it down before noticing how polite and dainty Cyprus was being and blushed with embarrassment before taking smaller bites. Giles chuckled at the pair of you.

“You both must be famished, please don’t feel the need to eat politely, we’re all friends now take as much as you want I have more if you need,” he said and Kami happily took a few more slices to stave off that niggling hunger.

Having finished off his slice Cyprus placed his hot cup down and got down to what he really wanted to ask. He asks if Giles had any books relating a land called Elysia and a family that resided there, the Rochester’s. He pulls out a Pokeball homing a Gastly that knew of the land and offered his help should it be required. Other than that he would like any books pertaining to Fossils, specifically the revival of such or anything on Poketch applications. Giles has a look of familiarity in his eyes at some of the requests given to him and smiles heartily at your apology.

“No need to apologise, I am a fan of reading myself hence why I chose to care for the Library, its nice to meet another of same mind and heart. I’m afraid we don’t have many new books so you won’t find information on new technology here. I believe I have a couple of books on fossils and the first thing you asked about … Elysia was it? I’ve heard of this land before, said to be extremely beautiful and prosperous, a far contrast to this part of world” Giles aid huffing.

Turning to face Kami Cyprus asked what she’d possibly like to search for hoping that he hadn’t asked for too much already. Kami swallowed down the last bite of cake and placed her plate down. Stumbling over her words she bashfully asked for any reading material that had magic spells or incantations in them, or even something with mentions of wizards hoping that Giles and Cyprus didn’t think her a silly little girl with a wild imagination.

“Oh ho magic, don’t be ashamed to ask for such a thing we have many books relating to magic, it’s such a wide genre I’ll just have to bring you back a small selection. I’ll only be a few minutes I hope, need to look through the cardex first then …” he mutters as he flaps off in search of the books. The both of you sit together enjoying your company now you had gotten past the awkward first few moments. You both eat a few more biscuits now that Giles had left and finished off your drinks only to pour a little more, he wouldn’t mind anyway.

A few minutes late just as he promised Giles returned with a few books in hand. He heads over to Kami and places 3 books before her.

“I brought some reading on the different types of magic and one tale of a wizard named Merlin, that was always a favourite of mine to read,” he says as he returns to the stacks and shelves to search for Cyprus’ books. Kami picked up her selection and grinned at seeing ‘The Sword in the Stone’, it seemed even popular books made it into this Library. The others were entitled “The Magicks: A history and religion” and “Simple Spells and Charms: A beginner’s guide” Picking up her books she became engrossed with their informative material not noticing that Giles had once again returned carrying books for Cyprus.

“We have two books on reviving fossils that I could find and quite a few more than I thought on Elysia, I’ve brought 3 of them for you.” Placing the books down he stretched out the kinks in his back at carrying the heavy load and hooted before turning to notice the fire dying down.

“Oh, can’t let the room get cold now, better get some more wood for the fire. Enjoy your books, if you want any more when I get back just let me know,” he said walking towards the back of the Library.

Cyprus chuckles at seeing Kami so into her selection and goes through his own. There were indeed two books on reviving fossils, one entitled: “Complex Archaeology and the discovery of fossils” and the other: “Fossils and their revival: a scientific approach”. The three books on Elysia he found were titled: “A guide to Elysia, the light and dark worlds”, “The history of Elysia, destruction and rebirth” and finally what appeared to be a novel: “A shade of grey in a world of darkness and light ”. The last book seemed a little out of place but regardless you pick up your first book and scour its information greedily making notes for future reference.

It had seemed like an hour had passed since Giles had left and both of you still had your heads stuck in your books. Kami was eagerly reading over the different magic spells and charms with their instructions of use hoping to one day put it into practice. Cyprus had garnered all the information possible from his fossil-related books and had moved onto the Elysia books. He kept glancing over to the unique novel feeling the compelling need to read it despite the lack of information it would hold. Soon the feeling became overwhelming and sighing he placed the history book down and picked up the fiction novel. Opening it up on the first page there was a small envelope that fluttered to the ground. Kami noticed this and bent down to pick it up opening it as Cyprus moved onto the first page.

“To those who read this book, may the memory of Dawn and Xavier live on through you ~” she said out loud suddenly feeling the urge to read it also. Standing up and moving over to Cyprus’ sofa she sat next to him and began to read what he did.

“This story begins in the torn land called Elyra, the light of Elysia. Two families were born of different notions and ideals and it was these that made them bitter enemies. One of white light magicks and the other of black dark magicks they were eternally at war but within these families lay two individuals. These two souls cared not for the war waged for their love was stronger than the divide: this is their tale of love, loss and pain …” Cyprus read out loud feeling his heart beat faster as he read the words. He looked to Kami who had turned to face him her eyes swimming with affection. Cyprus never truly noticed how pretty she looked and with the fading fire casting warm shadows over her features she looked enchanting. Both of you were lost within each other and did not notice the gold and silver sparks erupt from the book dancing over your skin. The fire was blown out as the sparks grew bolder and brighter surrounding you both. Doushi stood up panicked and called out to his mistress running over to help her only to find her completely swallowed by the gold magical energy. He could only stand back helplessly looking on as the sparkles faded to nothing he gave a mournful cry.

A cloud of gold and silver seared your vision and you could no longer see the other. Panic began to rise in your chests as the world vanished and darkness swallowed you whole. The last thing you both saw was an image of each other that slowly faded into another unfamiliar face before darkness consumed you.

Rabid Squirrel ~ You see the face of a young woman hazily before your eyes and she whispers ’wake up’. Opening your eyes your blearily look around to find yourself in a bed of flowers, the pink and white petals brushing your skin lightly. Sitting up you could see beautiful fresh plants allow around you and a small path leading to a quaint little house. Suddenly realising that Doushi wasn’t with you, you bolt up only to feel your vision swim and for you stumble back and fall down. You weren’t in the Library anymore; you could say that you weren’t in the Haunted Mansion either. Wherever you were you were alone, no Doushi, no Giles and no Cyprus.

Cyprus ~ You see the face of a young man before your eyes and he grunts ‘wake up already’ and you blearily open your eyes. You feel cold hard pebbles of a pavement under your back and push up to look around. It was slightly cold here and damp where you lay. You see a small old house further along the road surrounded by a metal fence. Wiping your hands you look around to see neither Giles nor Kami here, wherever here was. What had happened? You remember reading the book then darkness only to wake up in a completely new land all alone.

The Music Room

Jerichi ~ Although it was a ghost in the Mansion you felt oddly calm around Misdreavus, perhaps it was her gentle stare and soft smile that evaporated all your concerns. It flitted away from you and over towards the stage pulling open the thick heavy curtains to reveal the old starry night back drop. Floating before the lone microphone there it asked you if it could sing for you blushing at the question. You think over the offer and knew that Misdreavus were known for their haunting melodies and often wailing shrieks and though this Misdreavus seems to be shy and it must have been hard to ask you such to hear it perform. You decide, curiosity getting the better of you to hear its song and it gives you a beaming smile giggling before closing its eyes in concentration. You keep your seat as Snowy watches intently from your shoulder.

Misdreavus opens its mouth and breathes a single sweet note that is added by more and slowly its sings a haunting melody one that has your spine tingling all over. The harp begins to play along with it and several other instruments begin to accompany Misdreavus adding a soft yet emotional tune backing its song. Misdreavus’ eyes glow blue again and you sense it using its Psychic abilities to play the instruments. Touching the harp you gasp and draw back as you see a part of her memories, now you know it’s a she. Her emotions were pouring into the songs and touching the harp again you could feel her sorrow overpowering all the other emotions. There was grief and bereavement for a loss along with undertones of regret and anger. Her eyes locked onto yours the blue aura making her eyes seem green and pink and you now feel a tinge of happiness and affection before she looks away continuing her song. The instruments come to a crescendo as she finishes her songs bowing politely for you as you softly applaud her.

She remains bowed hiding her tears that the song had brought on. You hear her sniffle away the emotion and try to calm herself and you dare to approach. She looks up at you and manages a small smile.

“I’m sorry about that. It's my favourite song to sing but it brings back such sad memories” she telepathically tells you. You let her know that you had felt her emotions as if it were you who were expressing them and she ducks her head.

“My emotions interfere with my Psychic, I should have better control by now,” she sniffles. From her song you felt loss for someone, for a few people actually, something she hadn’t hoped to reveal to a stranger and feel curiosity pique again. She floated off the stage and over to the harp strumming it a few times psychically before bashfully looking over her shoulder.

“Thank you for listening to my song and you did so with praises,” she said blushing. “My name is Alessia, if you don’t mind me asking, what are you called?”

The Mirror Door

fishyfool ~ Never before had your reflection made you so nervous, even with the odd bad hair days. This was unbelievable and yet there he stood smirking back at you with your mouth. He looked like death itself had claimed him and he did not mind one bit. Your Pokemon were disturbed by this version of you leering eerily at them with your eyes. He laughed silently before walking off and through a reflected door mouthing for you to dare to follow him. The visions of your Pokemon diseased and destroyed had torn your heart apart but to see what you could really look like, sick and demented, it made your mind scream in horror and almost flee to safety.

Silence filled the room as all reflections were now gone, staring into the mirror only the room and its contents remained you allow yourself a moment to think. Your Pokemon seemed glad to not see themselves, even their normal reflections no longer present in the room. With your nerves finally starting to calm and your mind leaving all manic thoughts behind and you feel ready to address your team who look nervously at you. You tell them that the reflection fishy was not you merely a haunted version created to frighten and sow the seeds of doubt into your minds. They still looked nervous but at having seen their own reflections agreed. You list your options, which are few, and ask if they’ll follow you though the door. Your team rally together and push their doubts aside and agree to follow you and the four of you walk over to the black door and gently pull it open.

Looking inside you sigh and wonder whether there was actually another option available to you. Your Pokemon see your hesitance and push you inside suddenly wishing they hadn’t. Beyond the door was a long corridor, all of which was lined with mirrors, only the floor remained uncovered the hard floorboards creaking as you walk along them. Your Pokemon instantly regret their actions when they find out where the door leads too. Nearly backing off to leave you alone until they spot your harsh look they dejectedly walk inside.

Walking amongst the surrounding mirrors with your normal reflections imitating your moves you feel nervous once again, this time you couldn’t escape your reflection as it stared at you from 3 different aspects. Volcape, Arctacea and Meteos all eye up their reflections warily but see no freaky version staring back at them and relax slightly. Glad to see their normal reflections you turn to face yours and almost back right into the mirror on the opposite wall. You look to see your Pokemon walking ahead of you not noticing your increasing nervous demeanour.

“We’re braver than we thought,” it said and creepily enough you could hear your distorted voice echoed through the corridor. Your team still walks on hoping to find an exit to this place not hearing the tones of your reflections voice.

“You do not want them to see me. They already have lost their trust in you and you cannot deny it. We saw the way they looked at you, full of fear and horror.” he said grinning at you as you walked along trying to ignore him to no avail.

“We are alike in so many ways, I may be your reflection but I reflect what lies deep within you. Your Pokemon have good reason to fear you. You have such darkness within yourself, and it reflects in me. I am your true self fishy, the one that gnaws away begging to be set free every day of your pathetic life. You are capable of such greatness but you deny yourself by locking us away. But now we are free and we will convince you to permanently release us, one way or another,” he finishes grinning at you and reaching out as if to caringly touch you and you jolt backwards falling into the mirror. Your Pokemon look back at you to see you on the ground staring with panic at your reflection, only to see you staring back. They look worriedly amongst themselves and you see the hint of distrust hidden beneath the surface that your reflection mentioned. They urge you to get up as they point out a small room with several intersections to choose from, and sadly enough the room was painted with mirrors.

The Bathing Rooms

psychopath ~ Concerned for your tiny squirrel you ask if she wants to continue with the damage her suit has caused her and the state that battle had fallen into. Sachirisu Aran snorted another shot to her pride taken but she nodded hoping this would be enough to persuade you. You offer to use another Pokemon, one that was not already injured and she shrugged causing you to sigh. You just didn’t want her to get hurt, it was expected that some injuries would arise in battles but it was never a nice thing for a trainer to see afflict their own. You agree to let her continue n the premise that if it gets too rough then she’s out of their and she begrudgingly agrees.

Your determined Pachirisu picks herself back up waiting for orders, ready to attack again regardless of the consequences and you quickly formulate a plan. A hiss and scraping sound of metal locks spinning and her battle armour compacts back into a hidden spot leaving her blue and white fur re-exposed. She sighs in relief and you can see the small red welts on her abdomen and legs where the suit had burnt through her fur. You tear your eyes away from her injuries to the pool engulfed in flames and spy the fountain through the dancing red and orange embers and an idea hits you. With her instructions clear Thunderfuzz powers up a Shadowball between her palms and fires it towards the fountain and watch with hope as it smashes into the marble a small explosion erupting on contact. The fountain cracks across its base and slowly falls off its pedestal and hits the water a small wave forming in its wake managing to extinguish a small portion of the flames yet a ring of fire still remained to the outer part of the pool.

Running around the pool managing to dodge another flaming ink shot fired at her she finds one small part that wasn’t engulfed with enough room to get in without being burnt. Slowly lowering herself in she charges up her electricity and holding onto to the edge let loose her Spark that lights up her part of the pool. The electricity is conducted through the water and you hear a muffled moan, much louder than the last and figure that it had the right effect on the monster beneath the surface. She begins to move to Quick Attack and does so zipping through the clear areas of water only to be struck from underneath flying into the air as a rainbow-coloured energy beam strikes her making her shudder with pain. Falling back towards the flames you can only stare in horror unable to help her. Just before she reaches the inferno a large tentacle rips out of the water and slams into her throwing her back into the wall just missing you by inches where she slams down falling to the ground breaking the tiles with her impact. She grimaces and tries to get to her feet when another shot of filthy water erupts from the water ramming her back into the wall where she slumps now severely injured.

You feel tears run down your cheeks at her state and wish you’d just left the pool and travelled somewhere safer. Running over to her you reach tenderly towards her when you hear the water gush behind you and grunt as a thick red tentacle wraps around you tightly. It was almost as if the world had turned to slow motion and you cast Pachirisu a sorrowful look as she reaches out for you tears staining her bruised and bloodied fur and as time caught up you are wrenched back before your hands meet and you hear her scream for you as you are dragged under the water the sound muffling as it rushes into your ears. Opening your eyes you see a wobbly image of a huge mutated Octillery its red eyes glaring maliciously at you and feel your chest tighten along with its tentacles and gasp precious bubbles of oxygen leaving your lungs. You struggle and writhe in its tight grasp feeling a burning sensation in your chest as your body screams for oxygen. You know that you’re crying but your tears mix with the filthy water going unseen. You feel your muscles weaken and your vision begin to blur as your body slowly succumbs to darkness, with no oxygen to keep your brain awake. You stop struggling and float in its grasp your mind rushing over its pats experiences and you see your Pokemon one last time and pray that they’ll be alright without you. As blackness swims into your vision you do not see the shimmer of light behind Octillery that slowly engulfs you both, you don’t see the water suddenly become a clear blue nor Octillery being struck by harpoons causing it to release you; all you see is that last image of your team, your family imprinted on your mind as you fall into oblivion.

Your hearing is the first thing to return and it’s greeted by the sound of lapping waves as they hit solid surfaces. A caw of a bird above and the light beating of its wings as it flies overhead and you being to open your eyes. You blink and wince as bright sunlight stung your sore eyes and try to move your arm to shield them to find it too heavy, dull sensations running through it. Testing your other limbs you find them all the same trying to regain feeling and looking back to the light you wonder if you’ve died and arrived in heaven, not feeling fire anywhere you assumed you weren’t in the other place. As feeling returns to your fingers you feel cool water surrounding them. Turning to face your arm you see that you’re lying on a long flat piece of wood with jagged edges, like it had been ripped or torn from its original placing. The clear waters stretched on for eternity, you realise that you’re drifting at sea. How had you gotten here from the pool? Were you just imagining all this? Your throat feels raw from the tentacle that had wrapped around it and reaching up you feel welts from the suckers of Octillery’s tentacles on your exposed skin and even through your clothes. You turn the other way and suddenly spot a black dot on the horizon that slowly draws nearer. You voice is too raw to call for help but you know you need to signal the now brown blob on the horizon or face a slower death than you had imagined.

The Crypt

Music Box~ ~ You are more surprised by Louis’ ability to speak human language rather than his appearance in the Cemetery and the little Aipom rolls his eyes at your statement. You suddenly remember your previous encounter with a ghost Pokemon and its ability to mimic human speech and ask if this could be the case with Louis. He almost drops his bottle in disgust and sneers at you spitting at your feet.

“Zimple minded ‘uman. Not all thingz are explained by ghoztiez and ghouliez. I can speak because I learnz how to and not ‘ur filty Englizee Language either, though I learnt that next, too many people and Pokemon uzes it, itz beyond me why. No I learnz ze language of lurve and romanze, French. You need to expand your mind ‘uman or you’ll be eazy picking for those that do lurk ‘ere.” he said insulted by your accusations and turns back to deface ‘umans are stupid’ on another tombstone.

“Thiz ‘ere Manshion iz capable of making all rulez seem … whatz ze word … irrelevant. Thiz place makes itz own rulez and within itz groundz itz no different. Not only will you find your precious ghostiez and ghoulies by many darker, stranger thingz live ‘ere.” He says almost as a warning as he finishes spraying the tombstone to sit on it and face you.

“If you want to zee the ghoulies then the Crypt iz the best place to go ‘uman, it iz a maze within though and you could get lost easily and I wouldn’t care. Penguin I’d ditch the ‘uman if I were you and I could show you around ze crypt, I know it well, left a few more of my better markz hmm,” Louis said grinning totally ignoring you and focusing on Birdie.

“But if you want to leave then good luck, I hope the darklingz that scour theze groundz eat you alive, especially you ‘uman.” Louis finishes leaping off the tombstone and begins to wander off. Although you had insulted him enough to cause him to leave maybe you could persuade him for a tour, either that or find you way off the grounds yourself or even try travelling the crypt alone.

The Playground

Kishu Arashi ~ Although the explanation for her sudden appearance would be suspect at best you found the young girl, with her snow white skin and long black hair enchanting. Her soft voice echoed through the Playground, a beautiful simple melody that had you enraptured. You felt your skin tingle as your nervousness kicked in yet you daren’t tear your eyes aware for fear she would disappear. The Abra on her lap seemed so content to just be in her presence as they swung back and forth. Stopping her song prematurely the pair looked at you. Her pure white irises stared right at you and you feel your breath catch in your throat. She was so unusual and despite her beauty you felt something off about her, something unnatural. One moment the swing was empty the next she and her Abra had appeared from apparent thin air. Grasping Beautifly’s Pokeball, just in case this sweet creature turned out to be a threat and approached her slowly, the girl still staring at you with her strange eyes.

Shaking with fear you stood as close as you dared, both girl and Pokemon staring innocently at you. Hinote and Yazuriha a little braver dare to move closer to greet the Abra. You have so many questions floating through your mind but decide to start with the simplest. You ask her for her name and she blinks before answering.

“Rosie” she says simply, her voice sweet and harmonious. “What is yours?” she asks and you answer, your Pokemon happily greeting Abra who paid them no heed.

“I like the swings. They’re my favourite,” she says staring at you before pushing back and forth into motion and you decide to sit on the swing next to her. She swings back and forth finishing off her song before suddenly stopping and turning to face you.

“Are the spiders gone?” she asks and you stare back confused.

“We don’t like spiders. We came to play and the spiders came. We were scared and they attacked. But they are gone now aren’t they?” she asks and you’re not sure how to answer.

“I’m glad they’re gone now. They were scary and their bite hurt. It hurt so much,” she says and you see her flicker and stare back in shock. The Abra on her lap’s eyes were glowing a faint blue and a single tear fell down its cheek.

“I’m glad the pain is gone” she finished smiling and they both turned to face you. “You seem nice…” she says smiling beautifully at you.

Vestige Town

lilbluecorsola ~ Staring down the abandoned street as the grey fog swiftly crawled its way towards you rising with every second to cover more precious air you narrow your eyes. Feeling utterly suspicious of the unnatural mist making its way towards you, you feel that something was definitely causing it and was remaining hidden for now. You hold a Pokeball in your hand torn over the decision to release its occupant due to its disposition but as the cloud drew nearer you feel a cold panic clutch at your chest and you rapidly release the ball. The smell Ferret that emerges flicks her ears as she takes in the disturbing new environment wondering why you had released her here. Sensing danger she swiftly darts behind you her quivering with terror, something here had disturbed her. You beg her to just try her Foresight to identify anything hidden within the fog.

Kanna, still overcome with fear manages a small nod and slowly walks forward. Her eyes focus into sharp clarity as she scans the horizon through the fog and around the buildings searching for its cause. You stand ready with her pokeball in hand to return her when she had completed her job and gave orders for Custard and Gumpy to be ready to attack should the need arise. Kanna’s ears flick back and forth as she analyses the information and squeaks back at you that she can see no moving person, Pokemon or object within the fog. Searching again her ears prick up and she blinks confused informing you that the fog appeared to be coming from the buildings themselves, or perhaps something within them. Kanna backs towards you her eyes begging you to return her now that she had done her job and you oblige feeling confused also. What could possibly be within the buildings to cause this?

As you think over your choices you feel that cold presence wrap around your neck and shoot down your spine and whip around with renewed panic and hysteria. There was something here and it was messing with you. “Infection” a voice whispers in your ear and you shiver almost feeling the breath tickling your throat. Gumpy and Custard looked back at you confused and extremely anxious at your panic-stricken look, you hadn’t even noticed that the fog had reached you and was rising making your throat feel raw again.

“Must leave now,” the voice whispers again and you take shallow breaths feeling you head start to throb. You hear Custard and Gumpy call out for you, Custard coughing at the vile taste of the fog.

“The Mansion has the answers … has the cure” it whispers and you see a flicker, a hazy image of a woman appear in front of you before she disappears.

“Please leave now” she says appearing again and you see her looking anxiously at you before her image fades away. You’re more than confused but as your chest started to burn you wonder whether to heed her warning.

“I cannot remain … it watches.” she warns flitting in and out and you hear a loud pounding on the doors of the buildings startling you and darting your line of sight back and forth you feel your heart pound against your chest each beat sending a thump of pain.

“The Mansion … run …” she loudly yells her voice reaching out before she disappears and you feel your body responding to her plea and your feet desperate to move.

“You’re infected” she whispers close to your ears and you hear the doors bang open with savage roars and moans erupt filling the air. The fog is so thick you can hardly see the way out but the woman appears for a second and a path through the poisonous gases emerges. Gumpy and Custard hurry over to you fear wrapping them like a blanket as they pull on you desperate to get you out of this village and its newly woken threat.

An Unknown Location

Aquatic Angel ~ Waking up in the cold unknown you curse the young mystic that brought you here, this certainly was a hell of a gift. You mumble to yourself as you push up to a standing position and regret you decision to ever try and give this mumbo jumbo a chance. Sighing you look around the small room tilting your head upwards to the bright night sky, its blinking stars shining down upon you; it was a beautiful sight in a dreary situation. The walls were far too high to climb but you possibly had a way out of that. Releasing you large beast of a Charizard he flaps his wings with great difficulty finding the room a little too cramped for his liking, it was hard to stretch out completely. You are glad to have some company and him too to be out with you. He senses your frustration before you explain the situation and choosing to walk out of this tiny room he snorts his approaval, opting to fly if you were unable to leave via the door; Charizard senses that might be a problem.

Pulling on the handle of the door you fight it tight shut and after pulling for a few moments let go rubbing your cold sore hands. Charizard brushes past you and grabs the handle of the door and with a roar almost rips it off its hinges grinning bashfully at you for the show of strength. Patting him as you pass you walk through the open door, the tiny room opening out into a larger corridor thankfully with enough room for Charizard to follow behind. Looking up you’re disappointed to find the sky covered by a dark ceiling now that you had moved inside. The corridor had the same cold cobbled floor and walls and led to another heavy door at its end. Allowing Charizard to open it for you again he pulls more gently this time and you both walk through and are surprised by the sight that follows. You stand on a balcony overlooking several levels each with small cells in lines, there must be thousands of them.

Walking down the cobble steps you reach the first level and peer down the line at the many cells lined up. Some of them appear empty but some have people and Pokemon within. Walking along Charizard keeping a close guard on you, sending dangerous looks to those within you are immensely glad to have the dragon protector. Daring to look within the cells you see a few men and woman that don’t even both to look up at you, too lost within their misery and hopelessness to care. You spot some Pokemon as you pass and Charizard puts his claw on your shoulder as a warning but he needn’t as they are in a similar state to the humans you passed. One injured Mightyena manages to lift its head up its eyes show nothing, no emotion, it seemed past hope. It let loose a pitiful sigh before lowering its head back down. The dog seemed emaciated from lack of nourishment and as you walk further along you find most of the Pokemon and even the people equally gaunt and ill looking.

Whatever prison system you had stumbled on to it seemed far from humane and you traverse down another layer finding another line of cells each with similar prisoners. Their cages were locked tight with thick metal doors with a singular lock, it was intended to make these near impossible to escape, something you were also finding rather difficult. After walking down the 13th layer you feel your legs and feet ache, you had yet to find an exit to this maze and the sight of such sorry and dejected beings was robbing you of your hope. As you walk down yet another corridor lines with cells you hear a voice call out for you.

“Hey, hey you over here,” he calls out and backing up you see a man in his forties with a thick brown beard holding onto the cell bars. His eyes light up as you walk back into view.

“Oh my good God it’s been so long that I’ve seen someone down here that I fear I’m hallucinating. Am I?” he asks reaching out for you and before he touches you Charizard grabs his arms snarling dangerously at him. The man laughs despite the large lizard breathing rather close to his face and Charizard pushes him back and he stumbles still laughing.

“You’re real! Oh thank the Gods, You are a sight indeed my dear.” He says so thankful to see you and you’re surprised to see the first person to show any form of cognition and emotion.

“Would you be so kind as to release me?” he asks and you furrow your brows, was a convict asking you to release him from his prison cell? Seeing you change in expression the man smiles.

“I know it’s a hard thing to trust a man behind bars, you don’t know what I must have done to be imprisoned here but you’ve seen the people and Pokemon locked up here. You must trust me when I say we do not deserve this incarceration and injustice. “ he says hoping you’ll believe him. Charizard pulls on your arm snorting not wanting to free a prisoner and you move to follow him when the man leaps forward grasping the bars.

“Please, please don’t leave. I’m telling the truth you have to trust me” he pleads and you feel that he’s sincere but are too wary and as you make to leave he yells out towards you.

“I know the way out of here, I can help you leave,” and you turn around intrigued.

“This place is a puzzle but I know how to crack it. You are lost here I can tell, no-one ever comes here to visit. Free me and I’ll show you the way out. I’ve been working on the lock to this door over time, it’s weakened significantly and I bet a strong attack from your Charizard could break it,” he said. It was certainly an interesting proposition. He could help you escape the maze of this never ending penal system but can you trust him?

Thx Arc! I hope you feel better too! =D

"hmp! Good riddance..." Tim said under his breath softly enough to where only Biride could hear him. "The nerve of that little idiotic..." Tim mumbled as he began to walk slowly with Birdie somewhat falling behind wondering if they should have asked the Aipom for a tour.

After only three steps, Tim gasped as he fell to the floor remembering that he was in a spooky graveyard. "I'm going to die!" Tim said begining to have another of his common mental breakdown.

"Deli." Birdie said in a cool manner laying a feathered wing on Tim shoulder. The two linked eyes and Tim was able to sense that Birdie thought they should ask that Aipom for help due to the look of concern on her face.

"B- but... he called me simple minded," Tim said stubbornly as he got up and patted the dirt off of his clothing.

"Bird! Deli!" Birdie said more assertively than before.

"hmp.... Alright." Tim said feeling sorry for acting so childish. "Hey! he's still in viewing distance, though it pains me to do this, I might as well suck up my pride and do what best for us, for you.... I wouldn't want you to get hurt" Tim said before the two ran swiftly trying to catch up to the Aipom with the French accent.

They look worriedly amongst themselves and you see the hint of distrust hidden beneath the surface that your reflection mentioned. They urge you to get up as they point out a small room with several intersections to choose from, and sadly enough the room was painted with mirrors.

Jamie's heart sank a little bit further past his toes when he saw the corridor was loaded with mirrors, and almost expected it from the fact that the door to this nuthouse room was effectively an oversized mirror. Although a little reuctant to carry on, his pokemon were a little more adventurous and beckoned him through with a gentle push, before apologetically looking and penantically entering with him, scouting ahead after looking at their reflections, slightly glad that there wasn't any freaky self looking back.

Jamie followed suit, and once again his nerves became tangled as his deathly reflection stared back at him, before talking to him, likely through the mind. Jamie listened to what it had to say, becoming ever more confused at the twisted words, while thinking about the truths behind them. While it is true that even the closest of friends will have some degree of mistrust between them, as nobody can have complete trust of someone else, lest the delicate balance of order and chaos be disrupted and insanity set in, before taking note that it wasn't him they looked at in horror, but the reflection.

The final phrase the reflection of his dark side stated was the straw that shattered the Camerupt's spine, as the reflection mentioned that they'll be released, one way or another before reaching for him almost caringly, and the next sound he heard was of him thumping to the ground, arse first as the pokemon turned back at Jamie. Questioning amongst themselves, Jamie felt the distrust between them before they urged him towards the room at the end, typically full of nerve-wracking mirrors. Rising, Jamie nodded before heading behind them to the room, talking idly to himself.

"My reflection seemed to mention it being my true self, the darkness in me, so it would likely be my dark side communicating with me through the warped halls here. The fact that the guys seemed to be a little fearful of me is natural, as this place is damn creepy, and chances are they're as afraid as I am...and not suffering from a fucking cold.

"Still, considering the balance between sanity and insanity, I think I'm doing well. My dark side seems to yearn for freedom, but is still part of me, and one is reluctant to part with this particular part, even if it drives me mad. The guys and their mistrust is explainable, with me in this state...I've got to pull myself together."

Straightening up, Jamie caught up with his pokemon, his face a beacon of equal curiosity and neutrality, a mask of his current mental state, before he looked around the room and the openings, as well as each mirror, expecting his dark side to pop up for another talk on the natural subject of mistrust between his pokemon and him, in a vain attempt to break his sanity.

"Ready yourself, guys, we may have to face our demons..."

Tetsu watched intently as the graceful spirit floated up to the microphone. The little ghost sang a delicate note, which echoed beautifully the room, sending a shiver down Tetsu's spine. It was soon followed up by a haunting melody as the harp chimed in with a tinkling accompaniment. As the Misdreavus began to glow with telekinetic energy once again, a chorus of instruments joined in the passionate song. With the room filled with a haunting orchestra, Tetsu could feel the intense emotion pouring from the song. He reached out to the harp, and felt a wave of sadness rush from the silvery strings. Every atom in the room vibrated with her powerful feelings of grief, longing, regret and a hint of anger. Both the ghost and Tetsu were locked in place as Misdreavus's eyes shown a brilliant green and rosy pink. As the song came to an end in a powerful crescendo, a ripple of joy emanated through the room, and Tetsu softly clapped.

The soulful spirit fought back tears in an attempt to calm herself as she looked towards Tetsu with a faint smile.

“I’m sorry about that. It's my favourite song to sing but it brings back such sad memories” she said psychically.

"It's quite an enchanting song. I felt like I was the one feeling your powerful emotions." Tetsu replied, still somewhat stunned by the experience.

“My emotions interfere with my Psychic, I should have better control by now,” she responded, sniffling a little.

Tetsu could tell that she had exposed something she generally had not through her song as she floated back over to the harp, playing a few shimmering notes. Judging by her great sorrow, he thought that he probably had experienced a good deal of loss in her days.

“Thank you for listening to my song and you did so with praises,” she continues, her ethereal cheeks growing pink. “My name is Alessia, if you don’t mind me asking, what are you called?”

Tetsu replied with a smile before replying, "My name is Tetsu, and this," he said happily, patting his snowy friend on the head, "is my best friend, Snowy the Snorunt."

Snowy, who had been equally memorized by the song, snapped out of his enchanted stupor. Noticing Alessia in front of him he gave a friendly chirp.

"You seem to have a great deal of talent, Alessia, but I can't help wondering how you ended up here. It doesn't seem like much of a residence for a... person of your talents." Tetsu inquired friendlily, stumbling over his words a little.

75 lines in the reply box, youve outdone yourself. By the way, have you read The Demonata? You should.

As soon as Tyson uttered his orders he knew he made a deadly mistake. Sure Thunderfuzz was a great battler and all, but he didn't know what the creature was. For all he knew that mysterious underwater creature could be a terrified baby Wooper... or an enraged mutant Kyogre. Whatever it was down there, it was winning. Thunderfuzz was trying to hide it but in her mind she was terrified, Tyson could see it in her face. And it wasn't just fear, it was also sadness, she knew his pain was great. As Tyson looked over the action he wondered about the creature: How had it gotten there? Why was it here at all? When did it get here? Who would be twisted enough to keep a creature like that in their pool? I shouldn't even be questioning, one second's arrogance could cause Thunderfuzz or me a slow painful death. Tyson said to himself in his head.

As he examined Thunderfuzz's body Tyson noticed lots of small details that could normally go unnoticed: small red patches on her fur, bloodstained, purple blobs all over her with pus coming out, and more strangely, dark energy in the blue squirrel's eyes. It must be letting it's wild side out, but that had never happened before. Tyson let worry fill him to the core, but he believed in Thunderfuzz enough to let her try to fight.

As he scanned the arena Tyson noticed that the flames seemed to be spreading, soon he would be engulfed: his plan needed to work, or he could kiss his posterior netherregions goodbye. Ok, If the flames go too far I'll return her to her pokeball, no point letting her day just because I can't run away from the monster, it will be painful, but at least she won't feel it. "No time for that now, If I think such thoughts I will die."

Shaking the thoughts from his head he looked back at the pool, Thunderfuzz seemed to be doing exceptionally well this turn. At that moment she seemed to be preparing to launch a shadow ball. 5 seconds later: BAM! The striking force of the Dark energy hit the statue, causing it to crack in several places, especialy the center, where the stress was just too much, letting it to fall and throw all of it's weight into the water, displacing a minute amount of it, enough to extinguish some of the flames, and soak Tyson's face. "This stuff tastes like barf!" Tyson yelped in disgust when he opened his mouth. The fire seemed at bay at the moment but there could be problems later on.

I've never heard of anything like this, The pokemon, or creature, must be very powerful. Tyson pondered what pokemon could possibly be down there. I haven't seen it enough, its too hard to identify. Lets look at the battle, shall we? Looking ahead at the pool Tyson saw the white blur that was Thunderfuzz, having dodged a flaming shot of the inky substance. Then she disappeared into the disgusting substance in the pool. If we win I owe her. She did something noone should ever do. Then the electricity, followed by painful moans. Quickly the ball of white and blue fuzz got out by attacking quickly. Then the world turned to hell.

Right then when Thunderfuzz was nearly out, a rainbow energy beam. Smacking right into her, sending her flying towards the flames. The world slowed as Tyson saw his pokemon headed for her doom, seconds becoming hours. There right before she hit the flames, a red tentacle, sending her in his direction, causing more pain but stopping her trajectory towards the flames. When she landed, more ink hitting her into the wall. The monster was juggling with Thunderfuzz and it wasn't very delicate. Tyson examined her body, she was too close to death, not ready to get up anytime soon, but still consious.

Tears running down his cheeks Tyson never noticed the red tentacle, reaching out for him. As he looks back Thunderfuzz she reaches out with her diminuative hands, misses, then screams, his screams. Water rushing into him causing his hearing to be muffled, his mouth to close, his body covered in cold digusting water. What didn't go away was his eyesight, but as soon as he saw it he wished it was. An Octillery, it wasn't normal, far from it red eyes huge, crushing him. dragging him along into clear water. The monster letting go. Running out of air his mind ran over past experiences: Aron's birth, Thunderfuzz's capture, his near escape from a PURPLE DINOSAUR, some images from times he watched TV. If I die, Freeze will know what to do... That was the last he knew of. Sinking, the darkness.

Waking up, Tyson realised his hearing returned. Floating. Looking up he saw a bird flapping its wings. I must be in heaven, I must have died. Wait I can't be in heaven, I've done and seen too much... Trying to block out the sun he put his arms in front of his face, then he realized his arm hadn't moved neither had any of his limbs. Then he looked at the side of his body, he wasn't floating he was drifting, on a piece of wood no less. And it had the marks that showed it had been broken off from where they were. Then he spotted it a black dot, growing. "It's getting closer..." Tyson muttered in a hoarse voice which was starting to return. "If it comes I will be run over, slowly."

Tyson thought of ways he could signal the blob, if the people onboard saw him he could be saved. Trying to reach for his pokeballs with painfully slow arms Tyson grabbed the first thing that he could reach: Slice's ball. "Come on." The words triggering the opening of his pokeball releasing the blue insect type: Scyther. "Look, you can fly, so go there... No scratch that pick me up and fly me there, if you can take us there I will be able to talk my way in..." Then Tyson's mind thought of what might happen if Slice couldn't carry him. There is no choice. "Let's go." If those people were enemies, well Tyson was screwed. " Look Slice, these people might be a threat, so here's the emergency plan, Act weak, that boat is our only path back to land. If they think we aren't a threat they might spare us. There is no way we can fight a boatload of people with pokemon. When I say go pick me up and start flying." As soon as I say go our plan will commence, and danger might begin. Then again that boat might be full of friendly british people. "If I say so you will run away with all five of the other pokemon..." Then it hit him that Thunderfuzz was still in the pool. " ...All the other four pokemon, then search for Thunderfuzz. As the boat was in range Tyson said one word: "Go."

After Kami had told Giles what kind of books she would likje to read, he said, “Oh ho magic, don’t be ashamed to ask for such a thing we have many books relating to magic, it’s such a wide genre I’ll just have to bring you back a small selection. I’ll only be a few minutes I hope, need to look through the cardex first then …” Then the Noctowl flew off. Kami poured herself another cup of tea. She sipped it while waiting for Giles to return. He soon came back with wings full of books.

“I brought some reading on the different types of magic and one tale of a wizard named Merlin, that was always a favourite of mine to read,” Giles said as he handed the books to the young girl. Kami took the books. Kami immediately grabbed one of the books called The Magicks: A Histroy and Religion. Soon she was engrossed in reading the book. Doushi, seeing that his trainer was preoccupied, layed down to take a nap. His tail-head was still on alert in case anything should happen. Kami read for what seemed to be ages. As she read, she noticed something flutter to the ground. Leaning over, the blue-haired girl picked up a letter. She looked up and saw that it had fallen out of the novel Cyprus was reading. She opened the envelope and read the letter aloud, “To those who read this book, may the memory of Dawn and Xavier live on through you ~”

Kami suddenly felt the urge to read the novel that Cyprus was reading. She got up and moved over to sit next to him.

“This story begins in the torn land called Elyra, the light of Elysia. Two families were born of different notions and ideals and it was these that made them bitter enemies. One of white light magicks and the other of black dark magicks they were eternally at war but within these families lay two individuals. These two souls cared not for the war waged for their love was stronger than the divide: this is their tale of love, loss and pain …” Cyprus read aloud. Kami looked at him. She felt something for the young man sitting next to her, and her eyes seemed to show it. She stared into his eyes. She was so absorbed in the sight that she didn't notice that the fire was releasing sparks. The sparks came over her and the world began to fade away. Doushi's tail saw that something was happening and awoke his other half. Doushi looked over and saw Kami disappearing into thin air. He bolted up and ran over to her. He couldonly cry out for his beloved master as she vanished.

Suddenly the blackness Kami saw was replaced by a girl's face. "Wake up," she whispered. Kami opened her eyes and looked around to see she was in some unfamiliar place. She was in a bed of flowers. As she looked around she noticed a path to a small house. It soon dawned on her that her faithful Girafarig was no longer with her. She was so shocked she jumped up only to fall back down woozily. Kami started sobbing there in her cushion of flowers. Doushi, Giles, Cyprus, all of them, gone. She had to take evasive action; this was no time to just sit around and do nothing. The girl staggered to her feet, this time much more slowly, and began to try to get to the house. Kami had no idea what she might find, but it would probably be better than just lying there crying.

Kanna took a deep breath and daringly applied her precise vision to the murkiness, avidly questing for its origin. Her ears twitched accurately as she pondered the findings. Her subsequent humble squeak imparted to her trainer the knowledge that no substantial presence emerged under her penetrating scope. As she spread her gaze again, however, her ears stood straight as she blinked once, puzzled. She informed Jessica that the haze appeared to hail from the structures, or possibly an object within. Jessica thanked the ferret for her ascertaining service, and faithfully invited the creature back into her modest shelter, newly disconcerted by the conclusion. How could a cloud transpire from an unsuitable source such as a house? Her disquieted eyes aptly regarded the proximate homes with inquiring apprehension.

A warning sensation clenched around her throat, and her body whirled around to confront the air. Numbness seized her limbs as the icy impression cursed scornfully down her vertebrae. A hostile word spoke softly to her ear: “Infection.”

Abruptly, the symbols on the doors revealed their solitary purpose to her. Their essential principle, she determined ruefully, was to quarantine. The voice pronounced faintly again, its insistent message conveying urgency. “Must leave now.”

Jessica felt the fog’s tendrils rising threateningly to her neck. Already the disturbing vapor had claimed her legs as property, and with each gasp of contaminated air she experienced even greater difficulty breathing. Her mind began to swim with visions. A description of a woman surfaced vaguely, informing her of a destination.

“The Mansion has the answers … Has the cure.” The description flickered weakly out of existence.

The Mansion… Oh, no. Not again. But where within its despondent walls would a manor house a cure to a life-threatening disease? Such a malady would expectedly correspond with the monstrous building’s forte. Ah, the Laboratory, perhaps. A fairly disinclining suggestion, Jessica realized with dismay. No, perhaps the Library would provide a way to solve the disorder. Yes, that decision sounded far more inviting.

The depiction emerged again, a clear expression of concern as the woman impressed her desperate command once again. “Please leave now.” The depiction oscillated in warning. “I cannot remain … It watches.”

A thunderous beating on the buildings’ gates responded, and the girl’s altitude quickened abruptly in shock. Her vision fluttered in alarm, her panicked heart hammering agonizingly against her chest as she surveyed the contentious atmosphere for a source of movement. None revealed themselves to her frantic gaze.

“The Mansion… Run…” The impression howled over the noise before declining mournfully. Her limbs answered the woman’s will consentingly, yearning to depart. In parting undertone, the woman’s fading sigh disclosed a treacherous revelation. “You’re infected,” it whispered slowly as it descended into silence at last.

The entrances flew open, liberating bestial shrieks and moans. The haze had broadened so thickly that no more safe outlets were prescribed through the darkness. As her eyes cast about for an escape, the vision recurred dimly before her stare, mysteriously granting a momentary departure. Her creatures’ weight drew on her legs, urging her to go. Recalling their safety, she offered the pair immediate refuge, which they thankfully accepted. The infernal screeching compelled her to take flight; terror incited her pace as the buildings’ tormented cries pursued her hearing. Panic and distressing discomfort gradually filled her lungs as consciousness dawned upon her. She now appreciated the necessity of acquiring alleviation for the sickness. Though her initial visitation had previously been renounced, her arrival at the Mansion was currently indispensable. Imperatively, her existing purpose was to infiltrate the manor’s Library, whose numerous edifying volumes would hopefully divulge an answer to her acute symptoms.

You scratch her behind the ears trying to calm her for a moment before whispering a back-up attack plan should the man have malicious intentions. Looking back up to the man than had moved far too close for your liking you thought over your words carefully before answering him. Your voice cracks and you curse yourself for sounded so afraid. You softly explain that you’re an explorer and carefully edge around what you really want to ask. You ask him how this room had come to be in the state it was. The man drew his attention away from Houndoom to look at you and his dark brown eyes send shivers down your spine, there was something hidden within them that made you uneasy.

“It is simple to see, a fire caused the destruction you see,” he says as if talking to a child and you bristle slightly at his tone. He notices your change in demeanour and manages a small smile.

“It was a long time ago but I can remember it well and as you can tell so does this building. A young man came across this Mansion in his travels and spent a short amount of time here. But in this time he became a warped, maddened and evil version of himself, this Mansion has that effect on the people that live and visit here. He brought with him in his madness the destruction you see.” He says rather vaguely leaving you wanting to know more, and there was definitely more to his story that he wasn’t telling you. He looks at you seeing the conflict of intrigue and fear and his smile widened. Walking next to the fire he placed his hands over it and dropped something with, a bag filled with a red powder that crackled with the heat. Breathing in deep he sighed before speaking to you again.

“Fire is a beautiful yet deadly element. Able to provide so much for us and able to take it away just as easily,” he says holding his hands very close to the flames.

“This man, he had an obsession with fire, it became his life. A life in glorious flames of heat and power and destruction; both beautiful and ugly.” He said confusingly and you feel Houndoom start to relax by your side breathing in the warmth of the fire.

“His obsession consumed him along with his precious fire until there was nothing left to destroy, this room was the last to succumb to his power and all that remains is the small remnant before you, such a pitiful monument to his power,” he said scornfully and you feel all your warning signals flaring, this man was not right and he was definitely making you feel uncomfortable.

“This Mansion remembers his destruction and revelled in it, this fire it created and the man …” he said getting very close to you “it kept him alive.” He finished whispering in your ear leaning back a deathly serious glint in his eyes.
Chills running down Stephen’s spine, the man begins to walk toward him, his dark brown eyes giving Stephen a feeling of uneasiness. “It is simple to see, a fire caused the destruction you see,” the man replies to Stephen’s question. Stephen bristles slightly at the tone at which he uses, such as one might use to explain something to a child. He smiles slightly at this as he continues.

“It was a long time ago but I can remember it well and as you can tell so does this building. A young man came across this Mansion in his travels and spent a short amount of time here. But in this time he became a warped, maddened and evil version of himself, this Mansion has that effect on the people that live and visit here. He brought with him in his madness the destruction you see.” Stephen could tell that the man is not telling the whole story, a vague feeling of incompleteness shrouding the man’s tellings. The man smiles a bit wider at this, and he pulls out a bag filled with some red powder and places it into the flames as he holds his hands over it.

“Fire is a beautiful yet deadly element. Able to provide so much for us and able to take it away just as easily,” the man says, Stephen watching him carefully.

“This man, he had an obsession with fire, it became his life. A life in glorious flames of heat and power and destruction; both beautiful and ugly.” Stephen is somewhat confused by this, though Houndoom begins to relax beside him, breathing in the warmth of the fire.

“His obsession consumed him along with his precious fire until there was nothing left to destroy, this room was the last to succumb to his power and all that remains is the small remnant before you, such a pitiful monument to his power,” the man continues, and Stephen suddenly feels an odd feeling in his stomach; something is definitely not right here.

“This Mansion remembers his destruction and revelled in it, this fire it created and the man …it kept him alive,” the man finishes as he gets closer and closer to Stephen, now only inches away. Stephen takes an instinctive step backwards as he tries to process what he had just heard. “It kept him alive…” Stephen muses silently within the bounds of his own mind, and his eyes widen as a conclusion, an impossible idea races through his head. “Could this be the man who started the fire?”

All that Stephen knew at that point for sure was that the man was not right in the head in any case – he had proceeded to give Stephen a deathly serious look, which had pushed Stephen over the edge.

“Um…thank you for your time…” Stephen suddenly bursts out, unable to think with clarity, “but I think I’ll be going,” taking a few hesitant steps in the direction from which he had come.

Kami picked up her selection and grinned at seeing â€The Sword in the Stone’, it seemed even popular books made it into this Library.

Cyprus ~ You see the face of a young man before your eyes and he grunts â€wake up already’ and you blearily open your eyes.
Cyprus didn't even notice Giles had left. He dove headfirst into the knowledge now set before him. He first set his eyes on the Fossil books. Learning about the discovery of fossils was a treat, but Cyprus couldn't keep his eyes off the book titled "Fossils and their Revival: A Scientific Approach." The Trainer longed to one day see this revival in action, but was perfectly content in reading about it from afar today.

After being distracted with Fossils, Cyprus had almost forgotten his -true- purpose for coming into this Library, the land called Elysia. Or was he looking for a map? The Trainer shook his head absently, he would ask for a map later, perhaps. Any pertinent information about the Rochester family needed to be observed. Cyprus wasn't sure what drove him to know this information exactly, but he had a feeling that he needed to be "prepared" just in case the Rochester's needed his help again. Although... he really should work on preparing his -Pokemon- instead of his mind. After all, he'd almost been helpless during the battle that took place in the crypt. All the knowledge in the world probably wouldn't save him from that Gengar. The Trainer shivered, and decided that he should read this set of books anyway, if only to calm his nerves.

Learning that Elysia was in fact -two- different worlds was quite puzzling, but he eventually shortened the details down in his mind. The Rochester family must have been from the Light side, Elyra, and their nameless nemesis must have been from the Dark side, Aryle. But how then did the two meet? Could it have been -before- the cataclysm that took place? If so, that would mean that either the family line, or the family -itself- was ancient! Cyprus read onward into the destruction and rebirth of the land of Elysia, but his questions were seemingly not answered. Frustrated, Cyprus finally picked up the novel and opened it, hoping that the answers to his questions would fall out of it.

Something did tumble to the floor, but it wasn't the answers he was searching for. The other Trainer, Kami, picked up the note, and read aloud, "To those who read this book, may the memory of Dawn and Xavier live on through you ~”

As she sat down beside him, Cyprus began to feel a little uncomfortable, he'd just met this young lady by obscure chance, and didn't know anything about her. Cyprus may have talked politely to strangers, but he did not make friends easily. Shifting slightly, he began to read the book along with Kami.

“This story begins in the torn land called Elyra, the light of Elysia. Two families were born of different notions and ideals and it was these that made them bitter enemies. One of white light magicks and the other of black dark magicks they were eternally at war but within these families lay two individuals. These two souls cared not for the war waged for their love was stronger than the divide: this is their tale of love, loss and pain …” Looking up at Kami and seeing her eyes swimming with affection, Cyprus felt nervous, but somehow the feelings were mutual... as the gold and silver sparks crept over both of them, Cyprus began to panic, and instinctively reached out as if to save the female Trainer, but she had disappeared into darkness, and now he was alone in the darkness too...

As Cyprus opened his eyes, greeted by a grunt from a young man, he tries to assess the situation. He was no longer in the comfort of the Library, but on cold, pebbled pavement. The Trainer felt like he'd been dumped in a gutter somewhere. Remembering Kami, he looked around blearily, but did not see her. He cursed male hormones as he tried to stand himself up and greet the man in front of him. Perhaps his father was right, maybe women -were- nothing but trouble...

Cyprus let out an inward sigh, and decided that he would have to look for the young lady, just in case she'd befallen the same fate as him. He wouldn't be a proper male if he left a damsel waiting in distress...

Here in the darkness I know myself, can't break free until I let it go, let me go ~

Fangirl and Sneasel12, you have not replied to any updates for over a month. If you don’t reply by the next time I post my updates I shall give your spots to two other members.

The Library

Rabid Squirrel ~ One moment you were in the Library reading that mysterious book with Cyprus the next you see sparks between you, literally as gold and silver energy smothers you. Now you wake up in a strange new world and you knew for certain that you weren’t in the Mansion anymore. Had you seen a face a moment ago? Sitting up you look at the pretty new surroundings. You were sat in a bed of flowers in a large garden, a long path lead up to a quaint little house in the distance. It was nice but as you look around for Doushi and Cyprus you leap up panicked as you find yourself alone only to come crashing back down as your head spins still recovering from the effects of the energy. Tears prick your eyes and your face crumples as you sob heavily for your lost friends, you were here all alone with no-one to help you. Still crying you stand up, a little slower this time not wanting the head rush again and hesitantly make you way out of the flowers and onto the stone path intending to visit the house.

It was a quick walk and you were still stuck in your misery as you reach the pretty white painted wooden door. You calm down your sobs and wonder what to do before deciding on knocking. Rapping the wood three times you stand back holding your arms wondering who would answer if anyone. The door swung inwards and a kindly old woman stood there looking at you inquisitively. She seemed surprised to see a dishevelled young girl on her back door crying and you open your mouth to speak only to find more tears coming and she immediately walks outside embracing you.

“Oh dear child, however did you find yourself in my backyard and in such a state too. Come in, come in,” she says ushering you inside. She takes you by the hand and leads you through the pantry and into a living area with soft sofas abundant; it would seem that she catered for large amounts of people. She sits you down and runs off into the kitchen leaving you to warm by another fire which only reminded you of the Library and your abandoned Pokemon. She hurries back in with a cup of hot chocolate handing it to you and sitting on the sofa next to you.

“Drink that child, it always makes me feel better,” she says smiling as you take big gulps of the warming drink.

“Whatever happened to you, you look something horrible has just happened?” she asks quite interested in what brought you to her house. Before you can answer a set of feet pad down the stairs and walk into the living room stopping to stand before you both.

“Are you insane Glenda, bringing in strangers to the house!? What if she’s a spy sent for espionage work or even an assassin from those in darkness planning to kill us all. Those tears look fake, she’s putting it on can’t you see? The teenager says vehemently waving what looked like a wand at you. You can only stare back in shock, you weren’t expected to be accused of such things and turn to Glenda to see her reaction only to see her shaking her head.

“You need to calm down Sabrina and please don’t go accusing everyone you see of being an enemy. I can sense the good and light in others you know that, I wouldn’t have let her in otherwise and I can assure you those tears are real, it’s impossible to fake such emotion. This young woman seems lost and we can help her, that is our way isn’t it?” she asks gaining a sigh from Sabrina who ducks her head, her blue hair covering her face.

“Yes grandma” she says begrudgingly before stalking off back upstairs.

“Please forgive my granddaughter, she gets very excited and is quick to judge. With how events are transpiring recently it’s easy to understand. Now tell me, you don’t appear to be from this village, what are you doing here?”

Cyprus ~ You too found yourself in a peculiar situation, one moment you were reading one of your books on Elyra with a passion you didn’t know you possessed, the next your surrounded by gold and silver sparks that sear your vision and turn the world black. You too wake up in a strange new world a little less comfy than Kami though as the hard wet cobbles dig into your back. Had you seen another face before you passed out? Pushing off the ground you look around finding yourself in a cold dark street the path you lay on leading to a small house in the distance surrounded by a metal fence that made it look all the more dangerous. Looking around you found yourself alone, Kami was nowhere insight and you begin to worry for her whilst remembering your father’s words. Sighing you stand up rubbing the crick in your neck and decide to look for her, feeling it’s only gentlemanly to do so.

With not much else around you walk up the cobble path the metal gate. It was open slightly so you push through and walk up to the dark little house. It looked creepy and you wonder how it is you simply move from one eerie environment to another. You wonder if it’s a good idea to knock or not. Walking around the perimeter of the house you see nothing too out of the ordinary, the strange statues on the lawn were adding to the bad feeling in the pit of your stomach but with no other choices you knock on the door. There was a moments silence before the door is pulled back a tall dark looking man standing before you with an inquisitive glance.

“We don’t buy from door-to-door salesmen, we’re not interested” he grunts as he slams the door shut and you wonder what the hell to do now. Sighing you decide to try to reason with him before he closes the door again, Knocking harder the man opens the door and growls at you.

“What the hell do you want? Didn’t you hear me the first time? Do I need make you leave he says pulling up his sleeves only to hear a cough behind him. Turning around you can see an old man pulling him away.

“What has you so riled Caleb?” he asks staring at you with sudden interest.

“Some punk keeps knocking on our door, just about to throw him over the fence” he says grabbing you by the scruff of your shirt only drop you as the old man grabs his neck applying pressure.

“Now now Caleb, that’s not nice, you haven’t given this lad chance to explain his actions,” he says letting Caleb go only to grab your wrist and drag you inside. He pulls you through into a dark looking living area sparse with furniture. He sits you down on a leather couch and stands before you.

“Sorry for Caleb he’s quick to rush into action, it takes a while for his brain to catch up.” He says chuckling. “Caleb fetch our guest a drink he tells the thug who grumbles before walking off into a kitchen.

“This place is well hidden away so I’m curious how you stumbled onto it? You don’t look familiar and I know everyone in this village so tell me, what brings a stranger here of all places?” he asks, and you feel you can’t deny him the answers, especially with his thuggish friends around.

The Black Door

S_M ~ You listen to the man’s gruesome story of how this room became the charred mess it was today. He seemed so enraptured with his own tale his face a myriad of emotions that pulls at the burn scars making his smiles seem warped and eerie. He let out points in his story that left you with so many questions and made you even more wary of him, the way he stalked towards you didn’t help either. As he finished his story his face so very close to yours your whole body is screaming for you to back off, back away and keep moving until you are very far from this man. Your legs comply with your wish and you stumble back as a thought ran through your mind, ‘he knew so much of this history, you found him burnt in this room and the emotions on his face as he recalled the past events, he seemed so affected. Could this possibly be the man from the story, could he have caused this destruction?’ As the man’s eyes bored into your very soul you feel your breath catch in the back of your throat and you back further away, you had to get out of here!

You thank him for answering your questions stuttering over your words as your panicked voice nearly fails you and inform him that you plan on leaving. You head back towards the corridor leading towards the Black Door only to stop when you felt the familiar presence of your Pokemon no longer by your side. Turning back you see her sat by the fire staring deep into it. You beckon her to follow and she sits still, almost as if she hadn’t heard you. Begging her now you walk back towards her touching her neck as you ask to her come with you only for her head to snap back. She lunges for you and bites into your arm making you cry out in pain as her fangs pierce flesh and muscle. You stumble back shocked at her actions cradling your bleeding arm to your chest as she stands on her haunches snarling at you. The man begins to laugh manically as he approaches Houndoom standing behind her.

“I must thank you boy, for had you not come I would have lost all hope of regaining what is rightfully mine.” He says sneering at you as you stare at the look of hatred Houndoom gave you.

“You brought me such a beautiful, powerful weapon and together we will cause such destruction that will be remembered through the ages,” he says rubbing Houndoom behind her ears and she nuzzles into his hand affectionately and all you an do is stare horrified wishing you had never ventured here.

“This time there is no restrictions to how powerful I can become, and the world will lay witness to many deaths at the hand of your old Pokemon” he says laughing as the burning fire grows stronger the red smoke filling the room making you choke. You see Houndoom breathe in deep and her eyes glow a horrid red as all traces of her former self disappears. The fire swirls and spirals around the man before returning to its original spot. His burnt skin is gone replaced by pale healthy flesh, he looks years younger yet that same confident smirk sat on his lips.

“Starting with you,” he whispers in his youthful voice patting Houndoom on her back causing her to pull back her head brewing hot flames in her mouth. You swallow hard and back off before running away just as she fires the hot flames towards you catching you flush across the back causing you to scream in pain and fall to the ground. The world instantly turns black and all you can hear is his awful laughter before that too is replaced with silence.

Waking up you blink through the darkness and cough at the dust filling the room. It takes a moment for you to remember what happened and you push up only to fall back to the ground in agony as your burnt flesh protests to the movement. You manage to roll onto your side feeling tears on your cheeks and you’re not sure if you’re crying from the pain or because it was Houndoom that caused your suffering. After a few minutes you try again and manage to sit up and look over your shoulder unable to assess the condition of your back but you knew that it was agony just to breathe right now. Houndoom and the man had left and you can’t be sure where to. The fire had been extinguished leaving the room in relative darkness. Pushing up to stand you moan before looking around, you were so mixed up right now and didn’t know what to do. You had lost Houdoom and had to get her back, even if it meant facing her wrath again, but your back needed tending to right now and you had to get out of this room.

Walking around the room you feel the walls looking for the exit and your hands brush against the far wall feeling the outline of a door, a hidden exit from the room? Pushing at the panels you feel one click and the wall slide across. There was a dark corridor leading downwards into the unknown. Had Houndoom and her new ‘friend’ gone down here or had they left the way you came in? You had to decide which way to venture now and had to act fast, before Houndoom hurt anyone else.

The Music Room

Jerichi ~ Her music was so sweet and melodious the notes melted your heart and made you feel so relaxed. You sat and listened silently not wanting to make a noise and ruin the beautiful song. Her sorrow poured into the song as touching the harp you played earlier you felt it intensely. Misdreavus sang so beautifully and her emotions seemed to only compliment the song despite their general negativity. Closing your eyes you felt her loss as if it was your own and felt your heart grow heavy, even Snowy seemed affected by it. She finished her ballad and bowed and you applauded gently appreciating the beauty. She floated over to you trying to hide her tears to no avail and you compliment her singing and the song, it had you enraptured along with the emotions. Apologising for losing grip on her Psychic she began to strum the harp distracting her from her thoughts. She introduced herself and you followed suit. Alessia smiled a genuine smile at the both you.

“Such nice names, Tetsu and Snowy I thank you again for stopping by to visit me. Complimenting her talent made her blush and duck her head but you go on to ask how she found her way to this Mansion even if this room seemed suited to her you assumed that she wasn’t from around here.

“I …” she said trailing off turning away trying to gather her emotions and thoughts before turning back to face you looking more confident.

“No you are right; I have not always resided here. I come from somewhere very far away. I was part of a travelling orchestra with several other Pokemon. We used to travel everywhere, we were never in one place for too long; so many places to visit you see,” she said her eyes sparkling as she spoke of these good memories. We’d perform on the biggest stages with the most exquisite sounding instruments, I don’t want to sound so big headed but we were very good. We had so many bookings from all over it kept so busy but we loved what we did so we didn’t mind. It was like one big family travelling together, we had such good times …” she said trailing off as you hang on her every word.

“One day we were asked to perform for this Mansion. A few members of the orchestra were wary, but I was never one to deny someone the joy of music so I convinced the group to come here. We performed a set in the Ballroom for a party and they loved it. Despite the rumours of horror from this Mansion everyone seemed so nice so we got acquainted with the owners. They requested that we stay a few more days to play some private concerts. We were never one to remain in one place for long like I said but we agreed in the end, we had enjoyed our performance here and I thought another day here wouldn’t hurt. How wrong I was,” she said bowing her head as tears flowed freely from her eyes.

“We came to this music room to perform for the young mistress of the house but … but she didn’t like the performance and she locked us in here with her magicks. We found ourselves trapped with no possible escape. We tried to reason with her as she came back for regular performances but she was never satisfied. Soon the members of the orchestra … my friends were taken away by her for her wicked uses. I heard of what she had done to other Pokemon in the past and I fear so for my friends. She took one member every week until only I remained. I remember screaming and then darkness before the light came back and I was still in this retched room. Even in death she keeps me locked here. I fear I am the only one left alive, that all my friends died at her hands but recently I have heard noises. A cry for help from where she used to take them and I feel hope again. I believe my friends may still be alive.” She finished sniffling and shaking away the tears. She floated towards the stage and beckoned for you to follow. Walking behind the curtains you head down some steps and find the backstage room which appears much larger than the room up front would suggest. Alessia hovered near a door with a faded star on it.

“She would take them through here. I have not been able to pass through it because of the spell but I remember when she took my friends through here the spell seemed to fade away allowing them to be dragged to their fate. My psychic doesn’t work on the door; I think her spell was designed so only a human could open it. I had no human friends here so I wouldn’t be able to escape. I … I mean would you …” she says trailing off looking down the unspoken question hanging in the air. You knew what she wanted you to do; would you be willing to help her?

The Mirror Door

fishyfool ~ This depraved dead version of you staring intently at you through the mirror and no-one could see him but you right now. One part of you was thankful that your team did not have to endure that sight again, that and you saw the distrust in their eyes at the sight of him. A smaller part wanted them to see him so you knew you weren’t losing your mind. You tried futilely to drone out his dark un-nerving talk but his words slowly sank in and you began to feel paranoid. You were shaky from his last sentence, that he would find a way to be permanently free and as he reached out for you your legs reacted first jolting you backwards away from his hand, his face and that sickly grin. Your Pokemon were alerted to your movements by the noise your back made as it his the glass behind you. They looked at one another with concern before ushering you towards them.

Your thoughts were dark and depressing as you mulled over your reflections words. Your dark side you mused able to communicate with you due to the odd effects this Mansion gave the mirrors. You note that it was only natural for your team to fear you and try to convince yourself to pull it together. You catch up to your Pokemon to find them in a large room which was yet again covered in mirrors. There were several paths leading away to chose from but right now you felt trapped. Never had your reflection spooked you so much. You tell your team to prepare themselves to face their demons and they look amongst one another wondering how to prepare exactly. You all stand still staring into each mirror waiting for a reflection to show up and begin the taunting again. You must have been standing still for 10 minutes and nothing had shown and you sense your Pokemon becoming restless, especially Arctacea. He swings his arms back and forth bored of standing still and decides to walk away from this weird room along the far right path. Volcape and Meteos quickly follow after him and you only just notice when you see the flame on your Chimchars backside disappear around a corner. Panicking that you’ll lose each other in this maze you run after them.

You manage to make up some ground enough to walk several metres behind your team and sigh, things just weren’t going your way today.

“Didn’t show when you expected eh?” your reflection said appearing from the ground crawling like an animal before standing and walking beside you.

”You’re right, things just aren’t going your way fishy, they never have been. But they can now,” he says grinning at you and as you spy your Pokemon continue their exploration you knew that he was remaining hidden to them again.

Your reflection sighed, “You don’t want them to see me fishy, really I know you don’t, we’ve been through this keep up,” he chided waggling his finger as if talking to a child.

“You needn’t fear us, we are one and now that we’re out you feel free don’t you, don’t deny it. It’s like a weight off your shoulders; you no longer need to hide your darkness because here I am for everyone to see … well you for now. The others will see us very soon. We just need to talk some more,” he said cryptically folding his arms behind his head smirking smugly.

“This is a new beginning for us, a new life we’ll make full of horror and darkness; nothing like the pathetic wasted existence you’ve so far lived,” he said snorted with disgust. “This new life requires a celebration don’t you think? We should celebrate your coming out, as the horrid evil individual you are,” he said and you feel your chest tighten at his words wondering what he was planning. You feel the urge to quicken your feet and move closer to your team and as you do you suddenly stop gasping turning to face your reflection. His arm was reaching out towards you again and it moved up and down gently and you felt it, a soft brush down your arm that made your skin tingle. Shaking with fear at his ability to do that you back up to hit the other wall and stand bolt still as you see your reflection over your shoulder trying to embrace you in a hug. He was just a reflection yet you could feel it, as if he was really here. Your arms and chest tingled and your felt his breath on your ear.

“Don’t leave yet, we have so many plans. We’ll have some fun first then we will be released upon your world. It’s going to be … truly terrible,” he whispers making your whole head buzz and your mind feels light and fuzzy. Your eyes rolls back and you suppress a moan at the pleasant feeling running down your spine as new thoughts enter your head. You see such horrid visions of atrocious acts you could commit and scarily enough it almost excites you. Suddenly the feeling’s leave and you’re left alone, no reflection to fill your head with nasty thoughts. Rubbing your arms self consciously you hurry up to your Pokemon finding them conversing as they walked and move to approach them when you see your reflection phase in smiling fondly at you. He bends down on all fours and stalks after your team making swiping motions like some kind of animal.

“We’re all just animal’s fishy. They don’t trust you. They’re not worthy of your time and effort. Be done with them,” he says crawling after them and you feel yourself drop onto all fours mimicking his actions thoughts of tearing them limb from limb flooding your mind.

“Tear them apart like the animal you are, savour in their death for power awaits you after,” he says goading you into your actions and your rational mind leaves, and your drowning in the images and sounds of death. You can’t control yourself as you hastily crawl forward and as you reach Volcape at the back you leap for him pinning him to the ground snarling at him pulling your hand back punch him. His wide fearful eyes reflect in yours and you regain your sense backing off him trembling so hard that your limbs are flailing. Volcape backs up terrified of you before running off for all he was worth to get away from you. Meteos and Arctacea didn’t hang around to long either rushing off after the fleeing Chimchar as you hug your knees to your chest and cry.

“It’s always hard at first,” your reflection soothes, “but soon you’ll be a natural” he said cackling and you look up to see that you had stopped before another room of mirrors. Your Pokemon could be anywhere and it was certain that it would be far away from you.

The Bathing Rooms

psychopath ~ Thunderfuzz … she attacked … then she was attacked … hurt very hurt … tried to help her … save her … no save me … water, pain, darkness … monster … death … no alive too much pain for death … bright light stinging eyes. Your oxygen deprived mind was trying to make sense of your disjointed thoughts as your roused. Cold water lapped against your hands and a bright light stung your eyes. Heaven? Why would there be water in Heaven? Your mind tried to make sense as you regained your sight. With more senses functioning it began to process the information. You were alive, floating on a piece of wood in a sea of some sorts. Your limbs were heavy and useless and your throat was damaged, a tentacle was wrapped around it wasn’t it? As the feeling begins to return to your fingers you spot a black dot on the horizon. Hope lights up within you and you will your arms to move as it becomes a brown blob moving towards you. With enough feeling in your right arm to grab a Pokeball you do so holding it static for a moment as you pant at the effort that movement took. You manage to gather enough strength to press the release button twice letting free your Scyther who quickly begins to hover over the vast expanse of water with no solid land to stand on. He spots you beneath and flies down worriedly trying to rouse you as you felt your eyes growing heavy again.

Coughing at your raw throat you ask Slice to fly towards the now larger brown blob and he begins off before you cough again and desperately signal him. He flies back and you tell him instead to carry you over there not wanting to be left alone for long. He looks down at his scythe-like blade arms and wonders how he’s going to carry you without further injuring you. Thinking for a moment he flies right next to you and hooks you arms over the soft fleshy part of his arms and then wraps the blade tight to you hoping to keep his grip enough to not drop you and accidentally ‘slice’ you. Flying up with you essentially hugging him he speeds towards the brown blob that soon takes shape the closer he gets. You whisper to him you voice leaving you again to act weak in case this brown blob, which you pray is a boat, is full of people with bad intentions. Slice frowns at the thought of acting weak but nods anyway. As he gets nearer the brown blob shapes into a large boat and Slice smiles, maybe you could get help after all. Flying faster he’s suddenly struck by a flock of errant wild Wingull who chirp indignantly at Slice for not looking where he’s going and breaking their formation. He feels you shift in his arms and panics trying to regain his grip only to cut your shirt and stop not wanting to cut your skin. He watches with horror as you plunge back into the water and again you feel darkness surround you seeing Slice’s blue body flying speedily towards the ship before you pass out.

Your hearing returns again and you hear the sound of muffled voices talking close by and are surprised to feel rather warm and dry. Opening your eyes you find yourself in a small room with bright lights hanging from the wooden ceiling. You were lying on a soft bed wrapped in a thick white duvet that was warm and comfy. Turning your head you moan in pain as your neck protests and instantly hear the voices stop and a blue Scyther rush to appear before you. Slice lets loose a joyous noise and makes to hug you again before he stops and merely nods at you. Sitting up in bed you hear a voice speaking to you from ahead.

“I was beginning to think you would never wake up,” he said walking forward into the light. He was tall with light brown hair pulled back into a ponytail, a red bandana covering the rest. He was dressed in a red and white striped shirt, long black trousers with a red sash belt that hung down to his knee and light brown knee-length boots.

“You’re certainly lucky your unusual Scyther found us and told us where to look or you’d be down in Davy Jones’ Locker by now,” he said gruffly walking over and taking a seat by your bed.

“What is a boy like you doing in the middle of the ocean like this, and with such rare Pokemon?” he asks eyeing up Scyther who raises up his blades in warning.

“I’d appreciate it if you leave the interrogation till later Carlos, he’s my patient and he’s still recovering. He’s in no position for all your questions right now,” a soft voice said as a young woman stood in the doorway giving Carlos a hard stare. Carlos grunted and walked past her,
“Captain will want to see him when he’s patched up so get to it woman,” he grunts walking past her receiving a swipe up his head for the insult before the woman approaches you. She’s dressed rather similarly to Carlos, she had long red hair covered with a white cap; she wore a white tank top with a pink waistcoat, black above-knee shorts and white leather knee-length boots. She took the seat Carlos had a moment ago and leant forward to pull your covers back. You hold onto them blushing at her and she smiles.

“I need to look at your wounds, to see if they’re healing properly,” she says pulling the covers back as you attempt to cover up your body now only wearing your underwear. Your torso arms and neck were swathed in bandages and she peeked underneath nodding in satisfaction and readjusts the dressings.

“They’re healing nicely, you’ll be good as new soon,” she says happy with her work replacing the covers. “I’m Maria the ships physician … amongst other things,” she says cryptically. “Carlos was right, you were lucky we found you before you drowned. Whatever had attacked you is dangerous and not usual; I have not seen such burn marks before. I’m sure you have questions as do we. I do have to take you to see the captain when you’re fully healed, its not usual for us to take on strays and we need to know that we can trust you. I can answer a few simple questions you may have for now but I’m under strict orders to keep information to a minimum until we know that you’re not an enemy.” She pulls pours a drink of hot tea on the bedside table and hands it to you.

“It’s herbal and will help you heal faster. So, let me start with something easy, what do you call yourself?”

The Crypt

Music Box~ ~ I do thank you hon.

You were more than glad to see the arrogant little French monkey walk off, eager to carry on without his annoying belittling attitude. Grumbling over his last words to you, you begin to walk off silently hoping that he accidentally walks into a open grave when you suddenly remember where you were. Okay Louis may have distracted your thoughts away from the creepy Cemetery … but you’re in a creepy Cemetery!! Quivering again you slump to the ground muttering that you’re going to die and reengage your mental breakdown. Birdie lay a wing on your shoulder shaking her head, how did she not see this coming. She tried to calm you down again before looking over to where Louis was moving out of sight. She gave an imploring look, she quite liked the French monkey and wouldn’t mind a tour especially consider how you got when left alone here. You give a weak argument of why you shouldn’t ask for help, not wanting to be near the condescending little bugger but with an assertive flap from Birdie you sigh in defeat.

Picking yourself up you reason that he was your best chance of getting through this Cemetery and the Crypt alive and begin to run after him. After a short burst of exercise you reach shouting distance and yell over to him. Louis stops and looks over his shoulder rolling his eyes at you but waits for you to catch up. Panting as you reach him you get your breath back before begrudgingly ask for his help causing him to smirk at you.

“Zo I zee you got zee ‘uman to zee zense,” he said chuckling causing Birdie to nod ignoring your displeased look.

[i]“Well then mon amie, for you … and ur ‘uman I’ll shall oblige and give zee a tour of zee Crypt,” he said before bouncing off towards the small building waving for you to follow with his tail. Grumbling a little more you follow after the sobering Aipom hoping that this would all be worth it. Louis reaches the Crypt and stops as you catch up. Being closer to this building didn’t make you feel any better even with your little tour guide. Louis reaches up and pulls on the handle with his tail having to pull quite hard to open the wooden door.

“Itz been a while zince anyone haz been in ere,” Louis said before walking inside. Hesitatingly you follow him inside to enter a small room with two wooden coffins sat either side of a trapdoor, a small amount of moonlight shone through the window-like holes in the walls allowing you see the sparse graves. You voice your thoughts and Louis snorts.

“Ztupid ‘uman. The Crypt leads further underground, thiz iz merely the entranceway. I remember last time there were guards stopping strangerz entering the catacombz underneath. I wonder what ‘appened to them?” he ponders rubbing his head and just as he finished you hear an eerie creak echo through the room. Backing up you see the lids to the coffins lift up with two sets of rotten arms holding them up. Holding back a scream you watch in horror as the occupants of the coffins’ woke from their slumber climbing out of their beds to snarl at you. Even Birdie looked freaked at the pair of zombie Pokemon before her. The rotting remains of a Charmeleon and a Drapion stare at the three of you with dead eyes and seem eager to tear you apart.

“Hmmm … they were alive last time I waz ‘ere,” Louis said not bothered by the dead creatures before him and you wonder how old he must be to have seen them alive.

“We had to fight last time to continue, you up for it ‘uman or you too yellow bellied to take on zom ghouliez with me hmm?” he says readying for battle. It would appear to continue you would need to eliminate the zombie guards, or would you rather turn tail and run?

Vestige Town

lilbluecorsola ~ You hear the ghostly woman’s last words as the fog ascends even high obscuring the night sky. You were infected?? Just then all hell broke loose as the thunderous noises reaches a crescendo and horrifying groans and screeches filled the air. The mysterious apparition appeared once more leaving a path through the fog for you to escape before she flees from some unknown enemy. Custard and Gumpy pull on your arms willing you to move and now but it took a while for your shocked brain to process all the information. A terrified squawk from Custard drags you out of your shock and the world comes crashing back around you. Heart pumping heady adrenaline around your body you suddenly spring into action. Grabbing Custard and Gumpy’s pokeball’s you return them to safety before allowing the panic to fully settle in. Your legs move before you realise it and you run for all your worth through the gap in the fog. The moans grow in intensity and you try desperately to drown the sound out as you pass them not daring to look into the fog for fear of what you may find. You make it to the end of the street only to feel something grab you ankle causing you to trip and fall hard to the ground sliding along the dirt a short way. You notice a gash along your calf from the fall but don’t feel it due to the adrenaline blurring out the pain. A shriek sounds so close to you and turning you see a rotting arm latched onto your ankle. Shuffling back in terror you notice that you ripped the arm out in your fall and see its owner emerge fro the fog clawing along the ground towards you. A silent scream leaves your lips as you pry the dead limb from your own and limp up throwing it at its owner before limping away.

It takes you a couple of minutes to find the exit to the village and you wonder if you’ve ever been as terrified as you are right now. You stop to catch your breath for a second but hear the moans travelling to the entrance and panicking bolt again running full force through the dark forest. You feel the tree branches reach out for you as you run and swat them away gasping as a few slices at your face and arms almost trying to halt your escape. You make it to the main path headed towards the Mansion and slide in the dirt picking yourself back up to continue your dash until you reach the open gates of the Mansion where you practically collapse. Your body starts to calm down as the adrenaline is fully absorbed and your breathing slows. You realise the severity of the situation and where it had led you and feel hot tears run down your cheeks as the pains and emotions finally break through. Choking back sobs you limp over to the gates feeling warmth flowing from within the ground, warmth that wasn’t there before. A soft wind brushes past you swear you hear a voice beckoning you inside. Your mad dash had made the burning sensation in your lungs intensify and you took needy gasping breaths as this ‘infection’ robbed you of your bodies’ most basic functions.

Hobbling inside the grounds you make your way up the path knowing that you had no time to waste, ‘the Mansion held the cure’ she said and you couldn’t let this infection kill you or your Pokemon, especially considering what it did to those bodies back there. You reach the large heavy wooden door barring entrance to the Mansion and hesitantly you move to push it open to find it swings open of its own accord. Walking inside you enter the lobby finding it unusually warm and inviting, it even looked like it had been cleaned. Who could possibly be around to clean this place? Light filtered through the clean windows from an unknown source, it was pitch black outside how was it then that the sun was shining through? So many questions all of which were currently unhelpful to you! Heading through the West Wing you plan to scour the Library hoping to find the answers you need and possibly the cure to this infection. You pass the silver door leading to the Laboratory as well as three ordinary looking wooden doors before reaching the beautifully sculpted entrance to the Library.

The Library

Pushing the double doors open you step inside the Library and are in awe at its size. The ceiling reaches up to what you’d believe to be the top of the Mansion and every wall is swathed in books. There were hundreds of stacks with thousands of books lining them and you begin to realise what a mammoth task this is going to be. Walking inside you inhale deeply as you smell coffee brewing somewhere and decide to follow your nose, maybe there was someone here that could help you? Weaving in and out throughout the stacks you reach a large open are with a burning log fire and several comfy sofas. You spy the coffee sitting on a small table on an elegant serving tray along with a pot of tea and several cakes. It looks quite fresh and yet looking around you could see no-one that had made it. Deciding to sit down to rest your weary legs and look over your injuries you pick a white sofa and sit down sighing at how comfy it feels. Pulling up your trousers you see a raw red gash running the entire length of your calf mixed with clotted blood and dirt, it could easily get infected if not cleaned and chuckle at the thought, another infection to add into the mix. You finger the cuts on your cheek and wince, they don’t feel deep but they better be cleaned too.

“That looks gruesome,” someone suddenly says causing you jump in fright before glancing over your shoulder to see a pair of red eyes and a wide toothy grin. You leap off the sofa limping back as the stranger phases out reappearing by your leg eyeing it impressed.

“Does it hurt? How did you get it? Can I touch it?” the purple ghost asks floating up to grin at you. You’re not quite sure what to make of the Gengar and its grin is disconcerting but it outright approached you and seemed quite inquisitive. Maybe it could help you?

Though Tim wasn't exactly thrilled to be in the same company as Aipom, he figured it was better than wondering outside without knowing where he was going. Aipom quickly located the entrance to the crypt and signaled for Tim and Birdie to follow. As the three traveled into the entrance of the Crypt, Tim felt paranoid; thinking every breeze of cold air or a crack in the wall was some demonic spirit ready to engulf them. The way Aipom was talking about the Crypt began to make Tim wonder, "I wonder how long Aipom has been here.... it seems like it's been a long time. I wonder if it ever gets lonely around here..."

Suddenly, Tim began to hear weird moaning sounds coming from somewhere close by. "Wh- what was that?" Tim said under his breath. "I- I- I'm just being paranoid." Tim thought as they progressed into a smaller wooden room. Without warning, two pokemon, Charmeleon and Drapion, emerged from some coffins. “Hmmm … they were alive last time I waz â€ere,” said Louis the Aipom as if it was nothing special. "What the hell? They are zombies!" Tim shouted as he tried to fight off his fear. "Wait, just how old are you!?" continued Tim. Louis then suggested that the only way to get passed them was to battle.

Tim thought it over, almost ready to just run the hell out of there. He was barely able to move because his legs were shacking too much. "Deli." Birdie told Tim, suggesting that she could do this. After looking at Birdie and her will to battle, Tim thought to himself "If Birdie believe in me, I need to believe in me too.." Suddenly, a smirk came across Tim's face and he asked, Louis, would you like to have a tag battle with us? Before Louis could even answer, Tim shouted to Birdie, "Birdie, I believe in you, so lets start this battle... USE SWIFT FOLLOWED BY AURORA BEAM AND ANOTHER SWIFT!!!!!" Birdie became overwhelmed by the amount of courage that Tim was able to muster up so quickly and gladly charged towards the Drapion ready to kick some ass.

Thinking for a moment he flies right next to you and hooks you arms over the soft fleshy part of his arms and then wraps the blade tight to you hoping to keep his grip enough to not drop you and accidentally â€slice’ you.

Sorry, if this seems like a recap, but I needed to show Tyson's oppinions.

Tyson never felt himself fall, he also never realised that he had been fished out. The only thing he remembered was pain.

Waking up in the middle of a bed, the first sense that returned to him was his hearing, albeit muffled: “Abbzzz bbzzz bbzzz bzz.” He didn’t try to move fearing that the voices were aggressors. Then he realized he couldn’t move, there were bandages restricting his movement in most places. He tried to move but only moaned at the fact that it ached worse than a dieting squirrel in a bag of nuts. As Slice rushed to his side and uttered a happy “Scyther!” Then he heard it:

“I was beginning to think you would never wake up,” the voice came from a tall man, he had light brown hair, in a pony tail no less, and was wearing some of the strangest clothes Tyson had ever seen: A white and red striped shirt, long black trousers, that’s all Tyson could see from his position in his bed, but it made an impression.

“You’re certainly lucky your unusual Scyther found us and told us where to look or you’d be down in Davy Jones’ Locker by now,”

What did he mean?

That instant his memory clicked into place: On his way to the ship Tyson was dropped by Slice, but he didn’t blame him, after all he had no hands. As he fell he saw the blue blurr that was Slice heading towards the boat. That must have been when they fished him out. He didn’t understand the â€Davy Jones’ Locker’ bit though; it must be seamen’ speak.

“What is a boy like you doing in the middle of the ocean like this, and with such rare Pokémon?”

Tyson tried to answer the question but the words wouldn’t form. He wasn’t taking very well to the man; he was sticking his nose too far into other’s business. For some reason Tyson heard lust in the man’s voice as he said “Rare Pokémon?” He felt the need to ask the man to shut his trap and go away but he knew that wasn’t a choice in his current state.

He never noticed the woman, not until he heard her soft voice; he was relieved he wasn’t alone with the man.

“I’d appreciate it if you leave the interrogation till later Carlos, he’s my patient and he’s still recovering. He’s in no position for all your questions right now,” So that was his name, Carlos. Tyson wasn’t taking well to this man, not a bit. The Woman was dressed similarly to Carlos, Tyson was getting kind of uncomfortable, the people were dressed in strange clothes which made them seem more dangerous, along with that there was the fact that they were dressed similarly. Normally organisations with dress codes tend to be doing something, and considering that Tyson had a brush with Team Rocket once he had some doubt.

Then Carlos spoke up: “Captain will want to see him when he’s patched up so get to it woman,” Why do I have to meet the captain? Whatever. Tyson’s last nerve broke as he heard the man say those words, it was one thing to be mean to people, but sexism? That was wrong, or at least that’s what Tyson thought the comment was. Tyson was getting fed up with the man and was glad when he saw her hit him as he walked away.

When the woman walked in Tyson’s direction he covered himself after all he was almost naked. Sitting next to the Blushing Tyson she smiled at his reaction. He was starting to warm up to her, after all she wasn’t interrogating him and seemed to be there to help.

“I need to look at your wounds, to see if they’re healing properly,” Tyson knew what was coming next but he couldn’t stop her from pulling at his bandages, or whatever she wanted to do. However he knew that if she was checking his wounds she was probably involved when they put him in the bandages anyway.

“They’re healing nicely, you’ll be good as new soon,” she said happily as she gave him new covers. “I’m Maria the ships physician … amongst other things,”

Maria, that was a nice name, it fit her. “Amongst other things.” Whatever could that mean? That was the one thing that made Tyson shudder about the woman.

I can answer a few simple questions you may have for now but I’m under strict orders to keep information to a minimum until we know that you’re not an enemy.”

That was the strangest thing she had said the whole time. There were many questions he wanted to ask, but he knew that if he seemed too eager he might stir up unneeded doubts towards him. What did she mean by â€strays’ and â€enemy’ surely one couldn’t find problems in the ocean?

As she handed him a warm drink she said: “It’s herbal and will help you heal faster. So, let me start with something easy, what do you call yourself?”

Finally talking Tyson felt no pain as he said a few words, probably because of the tea: “M-my name is Tyson Gonza I come from the land of Orre. I was attacked by a mutant Octillery…” He made sure not to mention that he had come from a mansion because even to him it was a crazy story. “…That’s how I got into the middle of the ocean.” He continued as he realized something: He was in his underwear. He didn’t have his belt with his pokeballs on him. He had Slice, but if someone had his pokeballs they could catch him again. Then he tried to move, he felt better, not perfect, but better. He managed to sit up.

“I have two questions for you, one, what time is it, I mean everything, day time and year, I feel some stubble in my face.” He was asking this question to distract her from his plan to get his pokeballs back. “I have no idea how long I’ve been out.” This was true; he needed to know what time it was. “Second can you to please take me to the captain? I have too many questions to stay here. “Also I want to get out, of the room of course, I feel a little weird being so clueless.”

“Can you give me my clothes please, my shirt, pants-with my belt- and shoes? The pants are loose on me.” He wasn’t being subtle but being semi-naked made him feel weird. “Don’t worry about me I have Gonza blood in me, we are fast healers.” He sat up ready to dress himself if necessary. “Please can you take me?”

Jamie listened to every word this darker side of himself stated in the same way that a wolf listens to the sound of sheep before pouncing, and noted everything his anti form stated, from the whole 'pathetic wasted existence' and down to the 'plans' in store for him, and put them aside in his mind before carrying on casually behind his pokemon. He knew that haunted places like this in vocal lore were often creepy and drove some adventurers insane, and Jamie didn't wish to follow suit.

And then the 'creepy' of the mansion's theorem and stories burned in as Jamie's spine tingled at the visions implanted in his head by his dark side of the destruction, the killing and the merciless cataclysm, all of which excited him scarily, but in spite of his attempts to block it out, Jamie saw his reflection disappear, leaving him feel oddly empty. Nevertheless, Jamie remembered the sights he saw, and sincerely wished to never have them appear in reality as he reached the trio in front of him, just as his reflection phased in front of him, hunched on all fours and prowling.

Without any thoughts of rationality, Jamie found himself also on his limbs, his tormented mind filling with the vicious images of him dismembering anything in sight, starting with Volcape, and as he leapt and pinned his starter under him, ready to pound the Chimchar's face into the wood amidst shock by Arctacea and Meteos, he looked into Volcape's fearful eyes and saw his own fiery glare in them, instantly snapping him form his state as Jamie backed off as fearfully as Volcape did, before watching with his whole body trembling as his friends fled in fear, their trust likely shattered by his primitive instincts as he sobbed into his knees, just as a familiar and hated voice phased into his ears, as Jamie stopped his sorrow and looked around the room.

'I've lost it...my friends have ran from me and I'm alone...all because I fell for this reflective version's deception. Clearly, my original thoughts are wrong, this isn't my dark side, this is a demon within the walls of this fucked-up place...but maybe he's not alone, since he spoke of 'us' and 'we'...I must find out what this place is and why it's like this...and there's only one guy who can help me with that.'

As Jamie rose, still trembling, his mind was whiring around, remembering the times in the Ancient Tomb, where his first adevnture began: The whole quicksand ordeal, Volcape's battle with Meteos, and of course, the exeunt of the area with Meteos in tow, and his emotions instantly caved in to that single primal instinct: Fury.

"Silence, demon!" He heard himself roar at the mirrors, all rationality lost as his distress escalated into anger.

"I am in command of MY own body and MY own mind, and YOU are NOT part of me! I should've realised it when I saw Arctacea in the mirror, you're not my dark side! I've listened, and now it's my turn to talk!"

Jamie surprised himself with his rant, as he looked around the room of mirrors he despised, before looking at the doorway ahead of him and staggering slowly through it, his mind and body full of hatred towards this demon claiming to be part of him as he thought about the events in the mansion.

"Firstly, what the hell is this damn place, this mirrored maze? Is it some sort of twisted psychological playground, or is it a different world entirely, and if so, what world exactly? Secondly, what the hell are you? You are not me or any state of me, as your possession of my body destroys this. Thirdly, explain the reflections of Meteos and Arctacea I saw in the first room, where we met. Finally," Jamie clenched his fist as he looked at the mirrors around him, while his mind worked overtime, "tell me what exactly you want from me. Power? Liberation? Destruction!?"

As Jamie hissed viciously at the mirrors, releasing his built-up anger, his mind was whispering a message he hoped Meteos would pick up.

'Meteos, I snapped. Something took control of me there, and I'm sorry. If I should ever do that again, don't hesitate to hit me with your moves to snap me out of it.'

With his thoughts dispelled, Jamie drew his hand back and swung it full force at one of the mirrors on the wall, screaming as he done so.

"TELL ME, DEMON!"

Sneasel12 ~ Another visitor! The Mansion had drawn much attention since its re-birth and many trainers far too curious for their own good had traipsed across the lands to explore within its new-old walls. This young trainer, another full of confidence armed with a team of strong Pokemon hiding all shades of fear . Walking through the forest its dark shadows dancing on the ground you slowly approach the Mansion. It doesn’t take long to leave the dark woods behind and walk the path leading the rusted old gates. A small Duskull floated by your side carrying an oversized lance observing her new surrounding with keen interest, this environment was certainly to her liking. The rain started to fall in sporadic waves drenching you rather quickly. Pulling on the gates you rush along the long path that leads to the main doors of the Mansion, Marissa floating behind looking longingly at the wild creature-filled grounds as they pass. Not caring to know what lies within you pull the double doors open and head inside happy to be somewhere dryer if oddly cooler.

Noting the decaying décor you turn to Marissa and ask her where she would like to explore. The ghost shifts her Shadow Lance and after a moment’s thought points it towards the West Wing informing you of such in her unearthly voice. You wonder what could possibly be of interest down that dark eerie corridor to attract such a decisive choice. Marissa scratches her head thinking why she’s drawn there when you begin to think aloud. You remember word of several odd doors with even odder rooms lurking behind them. Picking one from memory, a charred black door that was eternally hot to the touch you decide to check if the rumours were correct.

Walking down the West Wing you pass two doors, one covered in hard steel chains the other in confusing runes before you find what you were searching for. The Black Door really did exist. The wood was charred and damaged form what would seem a fire many years ago. Placing your hand to the wood you pull it back at the scolding hot sensations it receives. Feeling the silver handle you find it incredible cool in contrast and give it a soft tug the door opening with a creak inwards. Marissa reasons that she could’ve floated right through there but her lance might have been a problem. Walking inside you find yourself in a black thin hallway, the small amount of light shining in the West Wing shows that the walls too are charred, the peeling wallpaper falling to pieces as you rub you hands along it. Walking further inside you hear the door slowly creak shut behind you leaving you in total darkness. Fortunately for you Marissa had great sight and held onto your hand as she lead you through the hallway, alerting to you to any rubble as you pass.

You smell burning oil like smell as you walk further along the hallway and a sudden heat that prickles at your skin. Entering a large room you see that looks akin to a church, an unholy church at that. The smell appeared to come from burning torches lighting the room. There are pews in black in lines down the length of the room. Pillars decorated with satanic symbols reach up to the ceiling. A couple of confession boxes sit to one side and a grand alter stands right front and centre of the room. A pulpit sits behind it draped in black and blood red velvet. Walking through the pews you see a flat table with something strapped to it. Horrified you run the rest of the way to stand above a young girl about 10 years old strapped down with leather bonds. She appears to be asleep as her small chest rises and falls rhythmically, her long blonde hair falling down her pale skin. You look around for something to free her when you hear movement from where you came, loud marching noise sounds like hundred of boots striking the floor along with a soft chanting. If you don’t move fast whatever’s about to come may find you here and that can’t be good.
As Marissa leads Michael along through the dark hall behind the black door, he can only help to feel like a prisoner being led by a guard that, while being smaller, could easily smack him around with the gigantic lance she holds. He smells a pungeunt smell of oil burning, and soon enough finds out why, as he steps into the first bit of light for a while, a room resembling a holy church, only colored and designed as though someone had built it for Satan himself. Looking forward he notices a table with something on top of it, something that seems to be moving slightly. Michael runs forward towards the table only to be in shock and horror at what he sees before himself, a young girl strapped to the table with bonds of leather. The girl seems to be asleep, which Michael assumes she has been since before she was strapped down, else she would likely be in a panic about her situation.

Looking about for something to cut the bonds with, Michael is startled by a sudden noise of what sounds like marching, accompanied by some sort of chant, coming from where he had entered. The rhythmic marching makes Michael frantic, and he desperately looks about for something to break the bonds. Looking at the torches, he considers using one to burn the bonds, but quickly realizes that the girl could be hurt in such a way, since she wouldn't be aware of the flame, being that she's asleep. As Michael darts about in the general vicinity, Marissa simply becomes bored of the situation, finally tapping Michael on the shoulder and holding out the Shadow Lance. Michael turns to face the ghost, and looks directly at the lance, getting a look on his face that practically screams "I knew that..." He then grabs the lance and slowly moves the tip to one of the bonds holding down the girl. Knowing that he has to be very careful so as not to harm the girl, lest she might awaken and accidentally alert those that are coming to his presence, Michael slowly begins to attempt to cut the first bond.

Kami sobbed loudly as she hobbled up the steps to the house. She approached the door and indecisively stood back for a moment before building the courage to knock cautiously. After a moment, a nice old lady answered the door. Kami tried to explain how she got here but as soon as her mouth opened, she began bawling. The older woman took pity on the girl and wrapped her arms around the blue-haired girl in a warm embrace.

“Oh dear child, however did you find yourself in my backyard and in such a state too. Come in, come in,” the lady said as she led Kami inside. Kami followed as she came to a room with many sofas inside. She left Kami by a fire which caused the memories of the Library to flood back into her mind, and the girl began to bawl again. The elderly lady soon returned with some hot chocolate. She told Kami to drink up which she didn't have to say twice as Kami began to drink the warm beverage in large gulps.

“Whatever happened to you, you look something horrible has just happened?” the kind old woman asked Kami, but before Kami could respond, another young girl came down the stairs.

“Are you insane Glenda, bringing in strangers to the house!? What if she’s a spy sent for espionage work or even an assassin from those in darkness planning to kill us all. Those tears look fake, she’s putting it on can’t you see?" the girl yelled and she started waving a wand at Kami. Kami sat their completely shocked at the turn of events.

“You need to calm down Sabrina and please don’t go accusing everyone you see of being an enemy. I can sense the good and light in others you know that, I wouldn’t have let her in otherwise and I can assure you those tears are real, it’s impossible to fake such emotion. This young woman seems lost and we can help her, that is our way isn’t it?” Glenda scolded the other blue-haired teen. Sabrina sighed and muttered an agreement before going back upstairs.

“Please forgive my granddaughter, she gets very excited and is quick to judge. With how events are transpiring recently it’s easy to understand. Now tell me, you don’t appear to be from this village, what are you doing here?” Glenda asked as she turned back to the seated blue-haired girl.

Kami sniffled before blurting out the whole story of how she got there, "Well, my Girafarig and I were lost and it was cold and raining," she began, "I- I saw this creepy old mansion up ahead, so we went to ask for directions, but- but there wasn't anyone there so I decided to look around. I found this Library where I met a talking Noctowl and this man, named Cyprus. Then we got some books, I read about some magic spells, while Cyprus got some kind of novel about this place called Elysia. There was this letter about Dawn and Xavier or something like that. Then we started reading that novel when I started feeling something for him. The fire starting blowing up or something and then here I was. I have no idea what happened to Cyprus or Giles or my Girafarig," Kami bawled.

Walking along row after row of cells keeping people and Pokemon imprisoned, Kim is confused and angered by what she is seeing. Surely any decent, legal penal system will provide food and water for their incarcerated, but this place defies all logic. This prison is morbid and evil, tucked away in a secret location to hide the inhumane treatment of its inmates from the world. All of them are in such a deep state of despair that they seem to have completely given up all hope of rescue, and are hardly even aware of her presence. She can't imagine anyone, human or Pokemon, ever doing anything bad enough to justify the conditions these poor souls are being locked away in, and decides she can't stand by without doing something to help them.

"Charizard, break.." she begins, but stops when she hears a voice calling for her. She exchanges a surprised look with Charizard, following the voice to find a man locked in another cell. She approaches warily because there's something about his presence here that doesn't feel right to her, not that anything is right about any of this. He looks like he's in his forties, and has a thick brown beard. He's far more alert than anyone else imprisoned here making her suspicious before he speaks another word, but she can't assume that he's leading her into a trap without listening to him first. "Stay close," she whispers to Charizard, stepping closer to the cell door.

“Oh my good God it’s been so long that I’ve seen someone down here that I fear I’m hallucinating. Am I?” he asks reaching out for her. Kim jerks back out of his reach, but Charizard is faster and grabs the man's arms, snarling dangerously at him. Kim is thankful for Charizard's quick reaction, because this man looks to be mentally unhinged and she really doesn't want a madman groping her. Shuddering, she watches the man laugh despite Charizard breathing threateningly into his face. Even when Charizard pushes him back and he stumbles, he's still laughing which makes her more wary because now she's convinced that he's either crazy or putting on a good act, maybe even both.

“You’re real! Oh thank the Gods, You are a sight indeed my dear.” He says, but Kim still doesn't feel convinced he's authentic.

“Would you be so kind as to release me?” he asks, making Kim frown in response. She'd been about to try releasing everyone from their cells before she heard him call out for her, but she's not sure she can trust this man. He's not so crazy that he doesn't notice her wariness, and tries to convince her he's nothing to be afraid of.

“I know it’s a hard thing to trust a man behind bars, you don’t know what I must have done to be imprisoned here but you’ve seen the people and Pokemon locked up here. You must trust me when I say we do not deserve this incarceration and injustice.” he says hoping she'll believe him. She does believe that the people and Pokemon locked up here don't deserve to be, but she doesn't trust this man and neither does Charizard. He pulls on Kim's arm, snorting his disagreement and leading her away from the cell when the man leaps forward and grasps the bars.

“Please, please don’t leave. I’m telling the truth you have to trust me!” he pleads. Kim is torn, feeling that there's some sincerity in him, but too wary to trust him completely.

“I know the way out of here, I can help you leave,” he adds, sensing her reluctance to help. She stares at him, disgusted and intrigued. He's desperate now, offering his services in return for his freedom, and that makes her less trusting of him. After her unpleasant experience with Claire Voya, Kim doesn't want to become involved with anyone else until she's out of this mess she's in, and helping a madman, a desperate madman, is asking for trouble.

“This place is a puzzle but I know how to crack it. You are lost here I can tell, no-one ever comes here to visit. Free me and I’ll show you the way out. I’ve been working on the lock to this door over time, it’s weakened significantly and I bet a strong attack from your Charizard could break it,” he says. She still doesn't trust him, but he's right about this place being a puzzle. She hasn't seen a way out yet, but she hasn't searched the entire place so the exit could be around the next corner. It's certainly an interesting proposition, but she has visions of ending up in one of these cells with Charizard if she does set this man free. No, they'll find their own way out, but she'll not leave him to die down here either.

"I don't know who you are or why you're here, but I have no reason to trust you," Kim says, cringing internally at the harshness of her voice. She doesn't like to be so cold and ruthless, but if relying on herself means getting out of here alive then she shouldn't feel guilty. "This whole place looks like it was abandoned a long time ago and everyone in it was left to die, but you're not like the others. You don't look starved like the rest of them, you have enough strength to get up and move around which makes me think you have access to food and water which they," she motions around her, "don't have, and you're lucid enough to have cared I'm here. Knowing how to crack this place is another reason not to trust you because that means you could have had something to do with its design, or that you're one of the people responsible for locking these people and Pokemon down here and leaving them to die."

Kim turns away from the man, too ashamed of herself to look him in the eye.

"Charizard, weaken his lock," she says, hoping she's doing the right thing. "Don't break it, but make sure it's weak enough for him to escape on his own in the next hour. If he's sincere he shouldn't be left here to die, but if he's a danger to us I want to make sure we have a good head start."

She looks back at the man, but can't read his expression. "I'm sorry, but you have to understand I'm protecting myself and my Pokemon first. We can make sure you're able to free yourself, but that's all I can do for you. I'm sorry.."

She lets Charizard work on the lock then turns away. "Let's go, Charizard. We have to find a way out of this place so we can find help and come back to rescue the people and Pokemon imprisoned here."

The fog rose insistently higher, suppressing the night sky. Her eyes hovered on the vague impression before her where the expression had departed. The spirit’s words haunted the air, drowning the distant din of the gateways from her pensive thoughts. A terrified utterance awaked her mind to the shrieking, groaning world, its sounds crashed down on her consciousness like a wave. Fear incited her blood – her heart palpitated in succession to the heavy pounding. Her hand instantly restored her Pokémon to safety, then her legs flew dramatically into a wild pace. The narrow gap admitted her escape, guiding her to asylum before her recognition caught up with her automatic movement. Crumbling structures reigned by fog bypassed her vision, their piercing cries of anguish furiously pursued her retreating form down the street.

A hand closed unexpectedly around her ankle, and her body collapsed to the earth, scraping harshly against the uneven pavement. Pain shot through her leg as the surface of her calf disrupted, liquid seeped alarmingly through and carefully stained the dirt with ruby droplets. The stimulation in her veins blurred the sensation, however tears that had so far merely stung with threat now cried unreservedly from her eyes, dripping miserably down her face in dirty parallel streaks. A proximate scream startled her, forcing her head to look to the source in panic. She discovered the intrusive hand, which led her horrified glance to a decaying upper limb. Her body shuddered instinctively away in terror, her mind barely registering the motive at first for her withdrawal. From the fog, a body slowly emerged, writing in pursuit of its missing member. A scream fought to rise against her chest, though her strangled throat was already virtually robbed of breath and sound. She frantically persuaded the cold fingers off her skin, and unevenly drew her body off the ground, her movements now greatly inhibited by her terrified limbs. She thoughtlessly hurled the arm to return to its seeker, and hobbled silently away towards the corner of the street, sighing in despair as she turned to follow the outlet through the fog.

Following a desperate search, she at length encountered the village access. Her hand rested dependently upon the cracked wall, her body heaving roughly with weariness and pain. The moans crawled through the air towards her, and panic hastily refilled her emptied lungs. She bolted fearfully through the woods, hardly concerned or aware of her direction any longer. The trees extended towards her, trying to halt her escape. She shrieked and lashed at them, gasping as they clawed at her surface in return.

She burst suddenly into brightness, descending to the earth in her haste. The Mansion loomed beckoningly in sight, and she gradually rose again, desperately racing the final stretch. As she drew close to her dream at last, she grappled the gate in support of her surrendering fall – somehow the doorway had unlatched in her absence. Her shudders fell quiet as calmness leisurely overwhelmed her senses. Her eyes lifted to the building reigning monstrously before her, and realization sank finally into her consciousness. Her shivers gave way to sobs that painfully burned her lungs and frozen cheeks simultaneously. Wheezing for strength, she clung desperately to the iron bars. Warmth passed from them into her trembling fingertips, a warmth that had not existed before. A breeze murmured past her tearstained face, whispering a silent welcome.

There was no time to waste. However tremendously her body protested, she at last dragged it towards the front steps. A heavy wooden door proudly planted itself in her way. As her hand moved cautiously towards the lever, it swung graciously open of its own accord. A beat of hesitation thumped warningly in her chest. Biting her lip, she crossed hastily into its interior, as if afraid the doors might attempt to mock her by similarly choosing to shut her out again. She needed access to the Mansion, and despite her reservations she would have to accept the doors’ charitable offering, regardless of their likely opposed intent. The house breathed her in slowly like an old friend, and she shuddered from the welcoming embrace.

The foyer bestowed an unexpected warmth and invitation to her shocked wonder. She recalled her previous and so far only visit to the Mansion’s hall, when it had been warmly lit with shimmering lanterns and smiling pumpkins. The festive cheer was lacking, but the current abandoned setting nevertheless exuded hospitality and cleanliness. Light streamed through the spotless windows onto the dusted furniture, despite the heavily darkened sky outside. As she drifted restively past the furniture towards the west, she questioned who could possibly have cleaned this space, and why. During the Ball, an astounding flock of servants had emerged to persistently attend the guests, though at the time she had assumed the service was temporary and reflected that they did not actually reside within the abandoned house. Who then, was living here now? Rather, who would concern themselves with the tidiness of a cursed home, that would customarily not expect particular visitors who minded the presence of cobwebs and dust?

At present, none of these matters pertained to her principal concern: she needed to find a cure to this disease, and fast. She vaguely recalled that the Library lay somewhere in the direction of the West Wing, so she sprinted down the hall in search of its obvious entry. A silver door flashed briefly beside her view, as well as three plain doors made of wood. None of these seemed to mark her purpose, so she hurried on, anxious to finally locate her target. Her eyes approached a beautifully sculpted entrance designing the end of the corridor, and she halted breathlessly before the twin doors. Her hand impressed upon them, and they opened the way to an immeasurable world of books and shelves, enveloping the immense walls that yearned upwards towards infinity. Stacks upon stacks of volumes, all tempting her to examine their innumerable pages. Her head swam with vertigo as she stared awestruck at the endless rows of shelves, dejectedly realizing how enormous her task would now be.

As she heaved a sigh, a rich aroma of brewed coffee pleasantly greeted her nose, and she commenced to hover unquestioningly towards its source, seeking a measure of comfort after her terrible journey. Perhaps someone else was here as well, who could possibly offer her some assistance. Weaving between the stacks, she stumbled into a vacant space at the center of the Library, cleared entirely of volumes to make room for several large, comfy sofas. They sat pleasingly in a gathering before a burning log fire, their many restful seats unoccupied. An elegant serving tray remained from departed company’s use on a wooden table, gracefully waiting to provide. The tray hosted two teapots filled with warm coffee and tea, complemented by a variety of fresh, luscious cakes. Two cups assembled side by side, and she noted that each of them contained a faintly depleted volume of steaming beverage, despite the noticeable absence of anyone besides herself to pour.

Jessica spread herself on the couch, sighing contentedly as the cushions yielded graciously to her worn out posture, then adjusted. She pondered the tray’s contents, wondering whether it would be favorable to accept food and liquid under these circumstances. The delightful temptation of sweets would most likely have enticed her hunger on another occasion. Currently she was not in the mood for dessert – or eating at all, for that matter. Having understood that, a more present concern was the injury she received earlier. She drew up the leg of her jeans, grimacing at the sight of blood and dirt congealed around her calf. If the wound wasn’t properly cleansed right away, it too could become infected. Disbelief joined with remote delirium provoked a grin at the idea. Another infection, huh? Wouldn’t that just be too convenient? Her fingers perceived the incisions on her cheek, and she winced as they stung sharply in response. They engraved only the surface of her face, but they should still be treated as well.

"That looks gruesome." A hushed voice, unexpectedly close. Her altitude quickened abruptly in fright. Her glance cast over her shoulder, and encountered a grin shadowed by a pair of eyes, eyes that quietly glimmered shades of red, in remembrance of the dancing image of fire. She leapt off the sofa, and watched nervously as the grin faded, re-emerging beside her leg. Its gaze closely examined her wound, highly impressed by the volume of blood that concealed it.

“Does it hurt? How did you get it? Can I touch it?” It raised to meet her blank stare, smiling dreamily past her. She recognized the insubstantial form of a Gengar, who regarded her with disconcerting eyes. She gulped, reluctant to answer its questioning gaze, however compelled to respond due to courtesy.

“Please – don’t touch it. I have to get it cleaned first.” She edged closer to the glow of the fire, watching the shadows excite over the ghostly grin.

“Do you live here?” She coughed. “Would you know where I could find some antiseptic and clean bandages?” She paused, becoming aware of her own labored breathing. Her throat felt drier from the heat, and her already concise breaths were shortened steadily by the minute. “Also, would you happen to know anything about a place called Vestige Town? I came here to research information on it. Does the Library have any books that talk about its history or anything like that?"
