Ho-oh The Rainbow Cleft

"High atop the clouds, in the deepest recess of The Rainbow Waterfalls, a trainer and his Pokémon call this place their home. A rocky cliff extends outward from the waterfall itself, separating the cascading waves and revealing a hidden cleft in the edifice. Another precipice of rock allows access to this fissure in the wall, although it can only be accessed by a Pokémon who knows Fly or Waterfall. The tunnel's walls are ribbed with spidery veins of frozen water, glinting from a light that seems to permeate from nothingness. Eventually, the channel opens up into a moderately sized cavern adorned with several decorations. The ceiling of this chamber is coated with ice, through which Pokémon can be seen swimming in the water above..."

Travel down this passageway and enter my humble abode...

Pokémon Team Log

"A beautifully bound notebook rests upon Eric's desk, the front of which contains a picture of Eric and his teammates. Various notes regarding Eric's Pokémon are listed among these pages..."

.: Current Team :.

.: Dream Team :.

.: Notes :.

Abandoned by his mother shortly after birth, Blaze was found by Eric within a forest, bruised and bloodied from a vicious Fearow attack. Ever since that day, he has had a deep psychological fear of any large bird Pokémon, especially those with sharp claws. Over time, this fear has diminished slightly, although nightmares still plague him frequently. Like any other puppy, Blaze is rash, curious, and mischievous. He respects Eric, and is quite loyal and brave when it comes to potentially dangerous situations. Blaze hopes to one day evolve into a strong and mighty Arcanine, as he despises the feeling of powerlessness he occasionally experiences as a Growlithe. Unbeknownst to him, Eric has already acquired a Fire Stone to accomplish this dream. However, Eric will not evolve Blaze until he can show control over his ever-changing emotions. Eric does not believe that evolution should be used as a "quick fix" to gain strength.

Defeated and captured in the Cloud Forest, Cypress was quite unwilling to join the team at first. Prior to his encounter with Eric, the flower Pokémon was great friends with a female Nuzleaf, the same Nuzleaf that later defended him from Blaze's fire attacks. However, after he helped Eric secure a Pokémon Centre from a horde of Ariados, Cypress felt a strong desire to remain on the team to help out those in need (though he'd never admit this to Eric). Cypress is quite a prankster, and will not hesitate to express dominance over smaller Pokémon. He holds a deep rivalry with Blaze following his loss in battle to the Growlithe. Taking this into consideration, it's no surprise that Cypress's current goal is to evolve before his fiery competitor.

Unlike any of Eric's other Pokémon, Sebastian the Drifloon is capable of telepathic human speech. He's very quiet and introverted, however, and tries his best to fly under the radar. Even though the Drifloon's intellect levels are unparalleled to Eric or the other members of his team, his laconic personality only discourages him from refining his sharp mind. As a ghost type, Sebastian is able to pass through walls if he so chooses, and he can even possess small objects. Eric personally believes the reason for the Drifloon's quietness lies in his past lives as living Pokémon. Whatever the reason, Eric hopes that he can discover what is truly bothering the ghost type soon.

One of the few females on the team, Teira is a boisterous Swinub who yearns for adventure. She hopes to one day become the queen of Contests, and will do anything to accomplish this dream. Ever since birth, Teira's proven to be a bit of a glutton; many interesting situations have developed because of this, as she's very self-conscious of her quirky eating habit. She gets along well with the rest of the Pokémon on Eric's team, although a little rivalry's been ignited between Feebas and herself ever since the little fish has shown a similar interest in Contests. (Girls will be girls, after all.) During tense situations, she might seem calm on the outside, but don't let her size or typing fool you--Teira's a firecracker just waiting to be lit. Eric's a little anxious to see how her personality will develop, as well. He hopes that she'll stay level-headed and not allow her success get to her head. Currently, Teira is unsure whether she wants to evolve.

Hatched from a Steel Core Egg, Obsidian is very timid. Despite his tough, metal exterior, this particular Aron is constantly afraid of anything larger than himself. At first, it took him quite awhile to become familiar with Eric and the rest of the team, as he'd crawl into a ball and hide his face upon sight. Blaze has since taken the little steel type under his wing, trying his hardest to break Obsidian from his shell. Sid, as Eric nicknamed him, took an instant disliking to Cypress, for the grass type personally thinks he's weak and puny. Obsidian is trying his hardest to better his fearful nature, even using Cypress's disdain as motivation for improvement. Eric is certain that he will succeed in the coming days. The little Aron pines to evolve into a Lairon, and eventually, Aggron, as soon as possible.

March 1st: Cypress

Adventure Log

-- Cloud Garden --
- Cloud Forest -

"Setting off into the Cloud Forest, Eric and Blaze begin their very first adventure by looking for a fellow Pokémon to befriend. The duo navigate the trails as best they can, hoping to not get lost. All of a sudden, a Bellsprout appears out of nowhere and trips Eric, laughing heartily at its little prank. As the Bellsprout continues to snicker, Blaze attacks! The Growlithe faces down the gangly grass type with his flames, and it's clear from the get-go that this will be an easy battle. But the Bellsprout's not alone! A Nuzleaf joins the fray of the fight, throwing an unexpected wrench into Eric's plan. However, Blaze triumphs in the end, and the Bellsprout joins Eric's team. The dejected Nuzleaf turns from its fellow friend and runs away through the trees.

As the trio continues exploring the forest, Eric eventually decides to name the Bellsprout Cypress, a name that he thinks is quite fitting for a tough little grass type. It's not long after that Eric suddenly feels a tingling sensation on the back of his neck. He's being watched! Blaze begins to bark at a rustling in the branches overhead. It turns out that the source of the disturbance is an Ariados! The spider drops down from above, spraying a web from its pincers that wraps around Eric, pinning him to the ground. Another Ariados joins the first! Just when Eric thinks he's goner, a Quilava appears, followed closely behind by another trainer! Eric is freed, managing to fend off the two Ariados with the help of his newfound savior. It turns out that this man's name is Steven; he's on his way to the Pokémon Centre nearby to find out what's been delaying the other Centre's shipment of goods. Eric joins him on his mission after healing Blaze's injuries, but the duo are jumped yet again by three more Ariados. What's up with all of the spiders? By the way this battle pans out, it seems that the Ariados are stalling for time rather than attacking wholeheartedly; Steven notices this as well. In the end, Eric, Blaze, Steven and Pyro triumph yet again, but another wave of spiders appears shortly after. They decide to run for it, as the Centre's only a couple hundred yards away. Once Eric and Steven arrive within the safety of the building, they warn the trainers there about the horde of spider Pokémon rampaging toward them. After securing the doors, Eric questions the Nurse regarding the suspicious delayed shipment of goods to the other Centre. She seems surprised to find that the other Centre didn't receive their shipment, for she had just sent them one! What if the spiders were somehow mixed into this mess? Before Eric could formulate a solid prediction, the Ariados manage to infiltrate the building through the ventilation system. Now, Eric, Blaze, Steven, and Pyro split up to defend multiple areas of the Centre. Eric calls forth his new Bellsprout, Cypress, to help..."

-- The Lost Cities of Talas --
- Laos River -

"With Blaze in tow, Eric's next journey begins as he travels up the banks of the Laos River. Pokémon and trainers alike throng the sandy area lining the water, but Eric's not here to relax under the sun; he hopes to capture another new teammate! Eventually, the duo comes to a strange oasis extending from the edge of the river further inland. Blaze runs up ahead and enters the dense undergrowth, for he hears a strange noise emanating through the trees. Eric, afraid of losing him, follows close behind, slightly weary at the jungle's thick interior. When he catches up to his Growlithe, Eric is surprised to find a group of trainers battling in the middle of a clearing. The men look like thugs, dressed in leather with tattoos lining their arms. Two of the biggest men from the collection of ruffians seems to be showing off to the others by battling. Blaze seems intent on observing this battle for whatever reason, but Eric's almost certain these men are nothing but trouble..."

-- Phantom Isle --
- Fortune Teller's Tent -

"Upon hearing that a fortune teller lives within the depths of Phantom Isle, Eric knows at once that he must visit her. He sets off with Blaze accompanying him, combing through the park in search of the mystic's tent. Before arriving at the park, Eric heard rumors that the old fortune teller had died long ago, but lights could be seen years after emanating from under the tent... Bent on discovering the truth, the duo look this way and that for any signs of the mystic's abode, with no luck. As they retrace their steps, Eric is shocked to discover the fortune teller's tent next to a gigantic big-top; he had just passed this place five minutes ago and could have sworn that it hadn't been there! With goosebumps racing up his arms, he enters the tent and confronts the mystic, a young woman with jet-black curls. She smiles as he enters and tells him that he must be quite determined to have looked so hard to find her. Eric flinches inwardly as he realizes that the woman must have been spying on him; how else could she have known these things? She gestures towards a chair; Eric and Blaze hesitate before sitting down upon it's hard surface, waiting for their fortunes to be revealed to them..."

-- Cascadia --
- Salin City -

"In need of something a little less adventurous, Eric travels to Cascadia with his Bellsprout, Cypress, by his side. He hadn't spent much time with the sole grass type on his team yet, so he hoped to remedy this by vacationing in Salin City. Cypress, however, has other plans. The gangly Pokémon is quite ornery and mischievous, and will not hesitate to express dominance over those he thinks he's superior to. Cypress decides to take charge from Eric as they leave the Pokémon Centre, leading the way as they walk through the city. Finding the actions of his Bellsprout to be quite humorous, Eric tries his best to follow closely. Five minutes later, the duo enter a park located right in the center of the city..."

-- The Lost City of Alph --

"As Eric walks into a Pokémon Centre one day, he's surprised to find a notice upon the wall requesting the help of any willing trainer. The message states that ruins from the ancient, lost city of Alph were discovered days ago within the land of Talas. It's an archaeologists dream, supposedly... only, the ruins are plagued with Unown, an ancient breed of Psychic Pokémon. It's for this reason that scientists from across Fizzytopia submitted this notice: to gain the aid of trainers across the land in controlling the breed. Once finished with reading the plea for help, Eric leaves the Centre and sets off for the Lost City.

When he arrives with Sebastian in tow, Professor Spencer Hale greets him and a group of other trainers. Eric receives a satchel and twelve Poké Balls, along with a warning. The same type of psychic storm that unveiled the lost city's predicted to strike yet again in twenty four hours, burying what was only just recently discovered. With this in mind, Eric and his Drifloon part from the group, combing the ruins for any Unown..."
