>Maldoce

For whatever reason, those don't show up when I search for them in Dueling Network. I even set the search terms for Level 4 Effect Monsters (since I remembered a few Maldoces being that exact kind of card), and apparently there's nothing between Makyura the Destructor and Malice Ascendent alphabetically. Don't know why, because other ones that haven't been released yet show up, like the Stellars.

They changed the spelling to Madolche. Dunno why, the original Italian spelling was way cooler.

It's likely for phonetic purposes. They didn't want children reading "Maldoce" as "Maldose" instead of "Maldochay" so they made it clear that ce makes the ch + ay sound in this case, not the soft c + e sound of -ce in most English words.

Seems kind of odd though considering they haven't demonstrated such phonetic concerns for a whole lot of other cards. I remember when we were kids and we all called him "Rayden" instead of "Ryden" (Raiden in Mortal Kombat). You'd think if Konami cared that badly about kids botching the readings they would never in a million years have printed the card as "Raigeki."

Oh, I actually was pronouncing Maldoce correctly. I usually get the pronunciation wrong with pretty much everything. Though I'm not sure if my pronunciation of Raigeki (Ry-GECK-ee) is correct. The more I look at it, the more I'm thinking it's Ry-JECK-ee, because that seems to flow better.

You had it the first time. ^^; (Never mind syllabary emphasis for now, you had the phonics right.) There is no (common) "jeh" sound in Japanese, almost entirely relegated to loan words like Jericho or Jerek. The word 雷撃 raigeki means "struck by lightning." 雷 rai "lightning" + 撃 geki (sounds like Becky with a guh sound up front instead) "an attack; a hit".

Anyway, the point is, it's curious that they'd care about making sure little kids are saying it the right way now. Not to mention that in order to ensure correct pronunciation they're bastardizing the authentic spelling. I mean, you don't write dolce as "dolchay". ^^;

This discussion reminds me of a classic. Must link.

Why dueling network decided to name the archetype that is beyond me. Konami hasn't released any official english translations of the cards yet as far as I know, so there is no way to know what the archetype will be called here.

It's likely, and probable that they won't be called anything like 'dolce' and might be called 'french-people' or 'sweet' or 'candy' or anything random like that. They dont do direct translations often. It's equally likely they'll do the Madolche, who knows

Nope. Well, not yet at least. S1 may be ending here shortly so we may get to see them in S2 (when and if there is an S2).

Can Stardust Dragon be Tributed to negate Call of the Haunted? Observe this scenario -

Stadust Dragon
Scrap Dragon
Ancient Fairy Dragon (revived via Call)

Scrap Dragon pops Call of the Haunted, Call of the Haunted destroys Ancient Fairy Dragon once it's left the field.

In this scenario, let's say I'm being blocked by a Marshmallon, I would need a card to pop with Scrap to kill the Marshmallon, but I don't have one. Since Call of the Haunted destroys what it's summoned, it seems like a valid target for Stardust Dragon.

It's my Scrap Dragon, I'm popping my own Call to kill the Marshmallon, because I can't run over it with any of the monsters I have on the field.

Another scenario...say opponent has two MSTs in hand. If they bait Stardust with MST, they can still kill the Ancient Fairy Dragon with the second MST. But if Stardust negates the Call rather than the MST, Ancient Fairy Dragon is no longer vulnerable to the second MST.

Well to answer your first question; no. Stardust cannot stop call of the haunted because it happens in the resolution of an effect in the middle of a chain. Stardust misses timing.

I don't really understand the second question, sorry

That just about sums it up all the info that's needed.

Call destroys during the resolution of a chain, so Stardust can't counter it because the timing is off.

Played a bunch of matches against UM. Lost with Stellars and Junks. Won with Karakuris. Then we played, like, five matches of Maldoces vs Eatos Glads. Was back and forth on winning.

Yeah we played a bunch of matches with various decks. I felt a little bad since every deck I used in the beginning I was beating him soundly with, so I decided to use an untested Ojama deck, which ended up vsing his Karakuris, which often benefited from my Field spell. Since that match things seemed to even out a little more fairly. Then he pulled out his Eatos Glads and I just had to try them against my Madolche afterwards

It was back and forth, but the tiebreaker was interrupted and the second time we tried it I was whooped so horribly it smarted. Slightly irritated, I needed a 4th match to soothe my wounded pride. Felt calmer after that, and we dueled a 5th time for good measure.

I award Kusari the title of Victor of that match, his deck was clearly better then my Madolches.

In case any one was curious, Dino Rabbits won Chicago.

Seems lack of priority didn't do enough to stop the deck. The final was a mirror match

Hey Tuner, what do you think of the Rekindling Synchro OTK decks? I notice most of the main components have been out for a while, but the deck seemed to really take off with Card Car D massively increasing the draw power when used on the same turn as Duality.

Not sure, but it sounds like it would help it out. Never had much experience with the deck, and the times I did it didn't strike me as anything memorable.

I've been looking into Agents and Six Samurai Decks lately, and I was wondering a couple of things regarding the Six Samurai. How come an Archetype with so many chances for field presence only runs about 3 Tuners? Or the 3 highly searchable Kagumusha are just fine given the support and recycling they get as Warriors?

Well, they don't really need more than three Tuners. Shi-en is really the only Synchro they need to break shit and with their ability to storm the field they get a Tuner and Shi-en out quickly.

Is there no record of Six Samurai using more Tuners to abuse their field presence? Otherwise, I assume it's just unnecesarry. Also, anyone else have any experience with Agents?
