Sequel to "Fahrenheit 9/11" in the works
That's what I just read on CNN. Looks like it's supposed to come out Spring 2009. If it's as entertaining, frightening, and controversial as the first film was, we're in for a bumpy ride!
http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/ ... index.html Hearing this news reminded me of this video; skip ahead to 1:44 to get to the hilarious Michael Moore section. (The rest of the video is retarded.) This news also reminds me, I still need to see SiCKO (so I can weigh in on it for myself and see where I stand relative to Mr. Moore when it comes to opinions on what America's health care program needs to be like), and I read earlier today on ANN's forum that Miramax fell under fire when they tried to release Fahrenheit 9/11 on DVD. Which made me realize, I don't think I have ever seen that on DVD after its initial launch when I remember seeing it in Blockbuster.

Oh boy! Another half-baked, half-factual Michael Moore documentary!
Are you excited? Cuz I'm excited.

Re: Sequel to "Fahrenheit 9/11" in the works
I saw Moore's Bowling for Columbine in my 11th grade government class and found it to be pretty cool. Then I saw it again in my college sophomore "Public Policy" class and found it to be utterly ridiculous. In this same class, I was exposed to the now legendary An Inconvenient Truth when a lot of people haven't even heard of the documentary yet, despite it being on DVD, and subsequently "shat bricks".
Possibly tainted by Gore's presentation, I have to second Blast's quip that Moore's work is half-baked. Half-arsed, really, his facts are far and few and are stretched pretty thin, though he's quite skilled at getting surprising facts and hammering them into people. His ideas are good, I think, but they lack an expert's credentials to cement a stronger argument - like, his view in B4C was that survivalists buy guns because they're afraid of some bogeyman or that 1/1,000,000 chance of someone actually trying to burglarize their home. The so-called "Climate of Fear". 'twas a good hypothesis but wasn't argued all that well, IMV. I'm more partial to the idea that those people are just gun-thumpers. This said, I think FH9/11 II will flop because Bush is old news. People would like to forget him; I know I would.

Did you at least enjoy my other link? >_>
"My favorite kind of truth is chocolate-flavored truth. Mmm ... you should try some! Oh no, wait -- you prefer lies! STRAWBERRY LIES!" I can't tell you how many months it took before me and the guys who enjoyed this video together quit using the phrase "you prefer lies! STRAWBERRY LIES!" when accusing people of lying.

Probably not as long as it'll take me to stop using "Trent Boyette is a liar, sir." in pseudo South Park style when accusing someone of the same thing.

Fahrenheit 9/11 was funny.
What's even funnier is the people who actually believe it all to be true.

Plz 2 B violently raeping Ray Bradbury's works moar. Thnx.
Seriously though, how can he follow this up with a sequel without saying "Ya'll are commies." or "I was totally wrong."? I can see him say the first one, and that would be hilarious, but the guy's not gutsy enough to admit his mistakes. |
