But it's the answer to why we were put on this Earth.
Anyway, via Kuno's tumblr - sorry, this is just one of the funnier things I've seen in a while and thought it belonged here: |

While looking up some stuff, I came upon this:
I was amused to see an XBox 360 show up in such a prominent place in a relatively popular manga given its poor sales in Japan compared against the other consoles.

OUYA Unboxing: Sincere Regret Edition
If you don't know what the OUYA is, it's a homebrew console that was funded via Kickstarter. Originally it boasted that it'd be able to bring PC-quality gaming into people's homes for ridiculously cheap and be really tiny too (cold fusion anyone? ) and then after tens of thousands donated to the fundraiser it turned out that it was basically going to be about on par with a typical smartphone. Smartphones are cool and whatnot but most of us don't shell out several hundred dollars to own a second smartphone sans phone plan. ^^;; Did anyone on UPN buy an OUYA?

Talon, the Ouya never claimed to be anything other than a way to get mobile games into the living room. It expressly advertised itself as a console based on the Android platform.
That said, it still sucks from what I've heard. |

Yeah, Ouya was developed as an android platform from the start - the big draw for many gamers was emulators since android now boasts N64, PS1, and DS emulators, but it turns out it was a bust. The emulators aren't optimized at all for it and games are glitchy, and really, no one has much interest in playing Android games on their TV.
It's basically a $99 overhyped paper weight. Talon is probably thinking of the Steam Box, and the "Piston" we talked about earlier this year, which looks similar to the Ouya and is still coming out at some point. edit: Hahahaha, this guy is SO disappointed! This is hilarious "Its only vent is on the bottom... that sounds like a solid plan to keep it cool" Oh man. |

I've heard Titanfall is great, and that the pre-N64 emulators work well (i.e. NES, SNES).
Ouya is playing with fire, advocating piracy as the major draw to their console. |

Titanfall? Titanfall is an Xbox One/PC exclusive. Are you thinking of something else?
Also emulators and ROMs are a really gray area for piracy because no one actually knows what is and isn't legal about it. We do know that it's legal if you already own the game, though. And we also know it's illegal to download a console's BIOS, which is necessary for some system emulators like the PS1. |

Sorry, Towerfall. If you'd seen my new thread, you'd know something was up!
I'd say most people buying an Ouya are doing the illegal kind. |

Deo's right. Got the two merged together in my mind. Whoops.
Well, not really sure why anyone'd kickstart that but whatever. Apparently people did. And apparently their low expectations were still not met.

I don't know why either quite honestly. It was a really big deal when it was being kickstarted, but I felt it was such a waste. It's being sold at retail now, too, which is surprising, but it goes to show just how much they made on kickstarter.

The latest reddit gift exchange is hilarious. The person you gift picks a few words based off of the NSA's flagged words and you have to guess what sort of things they're into based on those words and send them a gift based on it.

Russian Army Marches to Spongebob Squarepants Theme Song
Authentic footage of Russian army's marching drills? Or non-Russian young adults in costume merely pretending to be Russian soldiers? I just don't know ...

The next time you see a really unappetizing bowl of clam chowder, you can be like:
"Clam chowder? More like clam chunder!" (Disclaimer: I like clam chowder. Just saying that if there were a really bad looking bowl of it ...)

It's not the same as freshly made stuff on the East Coast or whatnot, but if you ever want to try it, you could get Progresso's clam chowder that they sell in cans along with the soups in the soup aisle. (Just look for where your local grocery stocks all of the Campbell's and Progesso soups. It'll be right there.)
Thanks, internet! That stated, theirs does have a lot of potato cubes and not that much clam. But that's true of pretty much all of the canned soup varieties. You gotta go restaurant or homemade if you want more clam.

Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder is actually much better in my personal opinion, as a fellow clam chowder lover. Much less potato chunks and much more clam.

Come to think of it though, I think my last few purchases have been of the Campbell's chunky ... but I think that was only because it was on sale, which I think may say something about their relative popularities ...

YouTube comments: are they cancerous, or brain-cell killing? The two are not necessarily synonyms, chemo can be brain-cell killing, especially when those brain cells are cancer cells.
Still trying to work out where this conversation falls under.

Golden Corral is having a hell of a PR problem right now, and here's why.

Points against it being true: don't the inspectors check the waste area as well? How do we know he didn't put these things here himself? People who have looked at the eBay page say that it does look like he was trying to blackmail them (he wanted $5,000 or else he'd go public). People who have looked into the guy's criminal record say that it's quite long. Guess we'll see what the truth is in a month's time. If he's telling the truth, then surely some fellow employees will back him up, no? If he's not, maybe security cameras near the dumpster area will reveal that he's the one who placed the food there in the first place.
