Once he reached the Tower Flight, he knew he had just the competitor. So he called out Honchkrow. The bird seemed right in her element. “Who better for a Halloween competition than you?” Hugo said to his beloved bird. Honchkrow let out a bellowing “kroooooooow” in agreement. “This isn’t going to be easy, but today is your day. Halloween is your holiday. You’re going to go in there, and you’re going to win this competition, right?!” The big boss Pokemon puffed out her chest feathers and squawked angrily. Hugo’s pep talk was working. “Great! That’s right! Now go get it!”

Althea Lynn faced the rock maze ahead with the skepticism of a woman who cared nothing for regional holidays, let alone those spawned from the cult of the supernatural. She hated everything about Halloween - from the influx of insufferable children prancing around in hideous costumes to the classless, often unnecessarily gory decorations people pretended to actually like for a day. I wonder how many would faint at the sight of actual blood. A sudden chill ran down her spine. He was awake. Oh yes, those false, feeble people you despise... They're nothing like you, heart-of-stone, who knows nothing of fear, of disgust... of horror. She sighed. It was useless trying to hide her feelings from THE DEVIL. Yes, she was nowhere near as unflinching in the face of fear as she would like to let on. But she was The Huntress, The Lady in White, and she was superior to the common rabble. No matter how much the Gengar tried to taunt her into thinking otherwise! You could make yourself useful and lead the way; finding the exit should be no problem for you. But by then, THE DEVIL had already fallen silent again. She knew he was still listening, but he would never willingly help her in such a menial task. No, the Gengar would watch in quiet amusement, feed on her frustration and despair. And she was much too proud to summon THE WORLD for a stupid children's game such as this. "Fine. Let's get this over with already." In a burst of golden light, a gorgeous Rapidash emerged from his Ball. An orange glow filled their surroundings, emanated by THE CHARIOT's fiery mane - it should prove invaluable in crossing the dark maze ahead. Yes, Althea had other allies that would make the trip a walk in the park... but she was not about to reveal her trump cards for a challenge such as this. Even if it takes me all day.

"Quil." Wildfire followed her gaze. "Quil quil cyndaquil." "True." She surveyed the entrance to the maze. "Should we bring anyone else out? I mean, I assume it's supposed to be like a haunted house type thing, but that means jump scares and you know I hate jump scares." "Cyndaquil quil cyndaquil cynda." He coated some claws in shadow to demonstrate. "Cynda quil cyndaquil." Melissa sighed. "Right. Fun." She took a bracing breath and headed in. "Okay. Let's go." ----- Sometime later, Melissa, Wildfire, and Prince found themselves at the beginning of the Spire's Tower Flight. "Huh." Melissa eyed what she could see of the obstacle course. "That looks like it'd be fun. For...someone." Grabbing a Pokéball, she tossed it up into the air, releasing Zephyr. The Fletchling flared her wings and circled ahead for a moment before coming in to land on Melissa's arm. She chirped curiously and tilted her head to one side. "It's an obstacle course. Maybe inspired by this old tournament called the Pokéringer. A competition mostly for Flying-types." Melissa smiled at Zephyr. "I figured you'd want a crack at it." Zephyr considered the obstacle course for another moment before chirping her agreement and diving. |

"Java!" Called a familiar voice, followed by the sound of clacking sandals from the girl's yukata. "I told you not to run ahead! This place is extra spooky and I'll need your help to get through it!" How uncouth! This girl assumed that he, a proud owl, would want to help her and her awful felines? How absurd! But he couldn't dwell on that long, before he knew it, the girl had run off into the twisting maze. Java sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose with his wing, what had he done to the gods to deserve a master like that? He flapped his wings slowly, following the girl at a slow pace. "This is so cool! I love Halloween so much! Don't you, Java?" The Hoothoot could only sigh as he tried to follow his trainer. It wasn't that he disliked this holiday... he just wished it didn't entail having to leave his peaceful roost. As he followed his master, they finally reached the end. "That was great!" Cheered Ariane, looking at the Hoothoot. "Now we can go to even more fun events!" The Hoothoot gave a sigh, what a dreadful night this was turning out to be.

"Well, now isn't the time to argue with argue with the system," she mused with a shrug, and let the swoobat perch on her shoulder. "We shouldn't make these folks keep on waiting!" Nadie excitedly cried out in agreement, and the pair wandered into the makeshift mine shaft in hopes that their expectations weren't too far off the mark. |

The few Pokémon that did confront Mint on their way through the winding maze (though part of that was likely Mint's poor sense of direction) didn't give them much trouble after Kapp'n yelled at them to buzz off. Mint noted that he needed to be back near the water (at least in a boat) ASAP-he tended to get cranky when away from it like this. As such, when Mint stepped out into the light once again, she quickly swapped the Lombre for her Starly, looking up at the rest of the Spire. "Looks like that Pokeringer bit wasn't a joke, then..." Mint said, her Starly chirping in assent. If either of her capable Pokémon had the energy, it would be her. "Alright, Piper, this is it. You're going to want to get to that ring with as little engagement as possible. Avoid any fights you can. Once you have the ring, use your Detect and Quick Attack to stay evasive and land the ring right where it belongs up at that pole. You ready, Pipes?" Mint asked, the Starly responding with a nod before taking to the skies, bobbing and weaving through the tunnels and gaps and openings towards the ring in the distance. When the Golurk appeared, well, that's where it got interesting. Mint anxiously awaited her Starly's return from the ground below... (OOC: And this is second event 2/2.)

The only skeletons in sight here are the ones who have waited for their results.
Apologies for the slight delay, procrastination and games have kept me distracted from this task, but rest assured, your wait will have been worth it.
So without further ado... The Sundered Blade had been transformed for the night into a truly spooky locale, and as Alex looked over the final touches to the maze and tower he felt a twinge of unease. An omen? Or was it merely the spirit of the season in his mind? Whatever it was, he was garbed in a miner's uniform, dusty and with a hard hat atop the head bearing a large crack formed by an embedded pickaxe. Getting it in there and making it comfortable wasn't the easiest, but he could make do with what he had, and as people and pokemon began to arrive, he wondered just how labyrinthian his ground types had made the maze. It was then that he remembered that he had placed Totsuka in charge of design, and he shuddered slightly. Always known for her pranks, the shadow pokemon was surprisingly ecstatic at being given free reign to be trouble for the night and he hoped he wouldn't have to make too many repairs... TKF: The first visitors to the Spooky Maze were a wise Alakazam and his gargantuan ebony Onix companion, whose size certainly gave Gol a run for his money. Standing at the entrance and eyeing up the rock pokemon, Alex shook his head, barring Gjoll from entering, explaining that with his size he could very well upset the foundations of the tower, but allowed the psychic pokemon entry. With a lofty vantage point the intellectual pokemon easily mapped out the correct pathway, and ventured into the darkness with photographic memory allowing him to reach the end of the maze. Alas, even the greatest of minds couldn't foresee the slightly stingy sensation of a pitfall filled with small round objects making traction up an incline difficult. An intended shortcut was booby-trapped by Pridwen, the Ferrothorn watching from the roof of the darkened pit at the psychic pokemon's surprise at the bullet seed riddled marble pit. They opted to watch for a couple of moments before extending a limb to catch the psychic pokemon, offering support for the physically frail pokemon to gain a proper footing. This was the only trick that Odin encountered, save for the occasional cobweb in the face, and as he found the end of the maze, he saw a small Aipom and Minccino dressed as imps, the chinchilla quickly cleaning up the Alakazam with his tail as Harpe handed over the reward for the maze. *Odin received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* Emi: You were nonplussed about the whole Halloween thing, yet had invested considerable effort to appear as intimidating as possible, and Alex raised an eyebrow at your apparel before nodding in approval. Venturing inside, the man knew you'd not be the easiest one to frighten, though the Inkay on the other hand... Within the tunnels you made use of some classic maze solving techniques, sticking to the left hand side to eventually guide you out through the dimly lit caves while Scylla supported you with their own flashy lights. Continuing through, your eyes noticed a peculiar mist seemed to be seeping in, obscuring your vision somewhat and though the sound of footsteps around you didn't faze you in the least, your Inkay was another matter entirely and did the one thing she was skilled at: running. Bolting suddenly, Scylla found herself blindly flitting through the tunnels and it wasn't long before she ended up lost and alone in the dark. A small giggle from nearby startled her, and the sight of crimson spots in the darkness approaching her led her to flash her lights in terror, dazzling the creature before turning tail and fleeing. It was pure dumb luck that Scylla found her way out through the entrance, shrieking like a banshee the entire way to the entertainment of Alex, yet you were fortunate enough to push through unimpeded by Totsuka to the exit, where a pair of cutesy pokemon jumped up in surprise at your guise, leaving you free to claim your prize with but only the coyest of smiles. *You received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* Missingno. Master: Certainly no stranger to the Spire, you and Meowth's costume was rewarded with a curt nod from Alex as he pointed the pair of you into the maze, explaining the goal briefly. Venturing in, the dim conditions didn't serve to trouble either of you, Meowth in particular having eyes suited to the dark in general. Regardless, the old rails here and there as well as creaking support beams were enough to keep Meowth trembling, and as the pair of you turned a corner, from a blind spot something was watching... A slight shifting sensation at your feet was enough for the two of you to realise you had taken a wrong turn and literally fallen into one of the many traps set up by Alex's team as you are sent sliding down a slope into a small pit. Brushing yourselves down, you find conditions are certainly much darker here, and the sounds of something scuttling around lets the pair of you know you're not alone down here. Crying out in fear, Meowth instinctively lets loose a sudden flash from his coin, briefly illuminating your surroundings, and startling the smaller ground type wearing a pair of thorny horns for the occasion. The Sandshrew's valiant attempt at playing the role of a trapinch backfires upon them as they are blinded temporarily, but providing you and Meowth with the sight of a fallen track serving as a ladder out the pit which you quickly scale. It isn't too long afterwards that the pair of you find yourselves outside the maze, where the image of two small imps gives even the fraidy cat Meowth something to genuinely smile at as the Aipom hands you your prize. Far above, at the peak of the tower, a Lunatone hovers around a certain avian who took a moment or so to rest atop the peak, giving your unknowing form a confirming nod before taking flight once more on their travels. *Keith and Meowth received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* King Ghidorah: You were certainly a vocal person, that was for sure as Alex winced slightly at the booming voice. Discomfort aside, you were a little unnerved by the dark maze, but were confident in your ability to make it through, and were even more keen to try out the entertainment afterwards. Within the tunnels, you found the lighting was only just enough to give you some sight, yet despite this fact it appeared the further you went in, the darker things got, as if the shadows themselves were wrapping around you. In fact, you seemed to be slowing down within, as if wearing some sort of heavy shackles. Giving your feet a shake, you take a second to examine yourself, only to find nothing wrong. You go to move, but find yourself strangely pinned down and the sounds of scraping emanating from the darkness. You do a double-take, and find you're standing on a set of rails, and the scraping sound sounds much like the wheels of an incoming minecart! Frantically you begin to panic as the shadows around you dance around, and the sounds only getting louder as you see something approaching, the scraping sounds coming from that something, and two crimson spots within heralding your doom. Suddenly your legs begin to work as you swiftly turn round and run like the wind, oblivious to the two metal cans the Shadow Zangoose is rubbing against each other and stifling her laughter. Man, this was golden. Your blind rush miraculously leads you to the outside, and to the Aipom and Minccino in impious form, handing you your candy as you catch your breath with only the most innocent of smiles. *Hugo received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* A couple of moments later, you release your Honchkrow into the crisp air, the deep croon of the crow filling the air and filling Alex's heart with only a slight air of melancholy. Looking up at the tower, the Big Boss finds several hoops attached here and there with small numbers affixed to them. Taking flight, she begins to swoop through them without trouble, the rings being large enough to comfortably fly through. A little confusion occurs as the rings suddenly stop, but a quick look around reveals the path continues inside the tower itself, the interior modelled around a wizard's own tower replete with bubbling cauldrons and some tough webbing. From one cauldron, a Seadra watches before spitting forth several jets of water, catching the Honchkrow by surprise. The first jet hits home, startling her and causing her to lose altitude, but the other jets are moving slower, to give the dark type time to evade. Flitting through the halls, a few dangling rocks here and there serve to give her some further obstacles, but the enduring Honchkrow bats through with wings spread wide, before leaving and finding the top of the tower in sight. Catching her breath, she finds an odd pumpkin-tinged crescent moon watching something, and following Nuhuko's gaze, she spots a ring in the distance, nestled on a rocky outcrop of sorts. Taking off, the Honchkrow swoops down and clutches the ring in her talons before turning for the post atop the spire, only for something to rise from where the ring was placed. A quick glance round reveals the outcrop to be rising and taking a humanoid form, before the giant Golurk takes flight themselves after the Honchkrow, one hand outstretched and with a magenta tint. Honchkrow finds the ring loosening through some unusual psychic force, and responds by tucking the ring further up and clutching with her beak and talons. The psychic grip is quickly broken as the Honchkrow soars, her head start over the Golurk serving her well even as the titan slowly closes in, faster by only a smidge, but it was too little too late for Golestandt as the corvid hooks the ring onto the tower and crows in triumph. The Lunatone hums something in congratulation before a shimmer around both leads to the pair teleporting to the surface, where Alex stands with a pouch of some description with Hugo. "Got to hand it to you, that was closer than it looked, but well done. Here's your loot." *Hugo and Honchkrow received a Commemorative Tower Flight Package!* The contents are as follows: Spoiler: show Gemini Spark: Alex had always had some respect for the Trapinch line, being a deceptive insect pokemon that were actually dragons in nature, and as Ezreal hovered through the entrance, he knew that the tricky nature of the Vibrava meant that this would be a tough one to give a scare of any description. As Ezreal skittered across the ground, protected eyes suited to arid environments weren't troubled by the dim tunnels, and he wasn't fazed by the odd pit. Weaving through a corridor, he found himself seemingly in a dead end, and turned around to find, to his luck, a large gem encrusted rock. Greed overcame caution for a moment, and he approached said rock hoping to grab some of the treasures for Hyrem when it suddenly began to move and before he knew it he was being grappled by the rock! The rock stood up revealing an odd Graveler who began to crackle ominously, giving a sinister glow as though preparing to explode, and the Vibrava began to panic! Surely this wasn't how it was supposed to end! Wriggling and beating wings, he eventually broke free of the grip of the rock type and made a very swift backtrack, failing to notice that the glow was merely a charge of electricity from Caritas, who placed hands together and chuckled to herself at a successful scare. Making distance, the Vibrava calmed down and soon found their way to the exit, where Harpe and Xiphos waited with simple smiles, before handing the mid form dragon a treat that may allow them to reach their full potential, if their trainer so wished of course. *Ezreal received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* Maskerade: Your scornful appearance to Alex was enough for him to roll his eyes. Wonderful, someone who isn't afraid of much. On the other hand, they seem to remind me of someone... Opting for efficiency, the release of your Rapidash serves two purposes: to illuminate your path and to get you through as quickly as possible, to avoid giving the devil his due. Galloping through, you pay no attention to the man outside checking something and making some quick motions to something else. The tunnels aren't as cramped as you would have anticipated, and with the billowing mane of fire you kill two birds with one stone, cutting through the darkness with no adversity whatsoever. Indeed, the only slowdown encountered was one brought about by something of a demon. Cloaked in shadow energy, it was a quick message to Totsuka to go all out in stall tactics, as the Zangoose released a veritable wave of onslaught at you and your chariot before ducking and leaping at you, with only a very quick duck saving you from being knocked off your steed as the two of you push through the trials and stinging sensation with the beast in hot pursuit. A twist and turn, and it appears as though the vicious little creature had been left behind in the dust, and you were ready to get this nonsense over with, yet there was one more surprise waiting for you at the end. Leaving the tunnel, you find yourself facing an empty bowl, and a small metallic creature hovering before you, the pronged head and blue tags dangling from them unmistakable. Was it fortune or something else? Surely this was an elaborate illusion, there was no way that a Jirachi of all things could appear before you. Shaking your head, you feel a slight headache building up, and instinctively close your eyes for a brief moment. When you open them, you find the bowl full of candies and two unevolved pokemon looking at you with curiosity and concern, dressed as imps. Grudgingly you take your prize and leave, though without noticing the sneaky mythical pokemon under the table the bowl rests upon, raising a small finger to the nose while winking at your Rapidash. What the Huntress don't know won't hurt her... *Althea received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* myahoo: You were no fan of jump scares, you audibly mentioned to your Cyndaquil as Alex stood by, motioning to the entrance wordlessly. Oh boy, was this going to be a riot if she ran into the wrong pokemon... Much like the previous visitor, you had the foresight to utilise a living torch to illuminate your path, though the closed environment was still a bit unnerving. One turn, another turn, and a few twists later, you and Wildfire soon found yourselves a little bit lost. Taking in your surroundings, you had some support beams at each end of you, a rail beneath you, some small rope above you and oh dear god what was that noise? What sounded like scuttling kept you on edge, and you slowly moved along the path only for your foot to suddenly get stuck in something. No, it wasn't stuck, something had grabbed it! You cry out as Wildfire attempts to come to your rescue, rushing at the snare and swiping at it, only for his attack to bounce off it! Panicking, you attempt to break free only to fall over and hitting the ground beneath you a bit firmly. Gasping, you look up to find something brown and yellow looking down at you, with a snout of sorts, and very quickly recognise it as a Drowzee. With you being alone. In a dark abandoned mine. The speed at which you leap up and bolt at would put any Ninjask to shame, while Wildfire finds himself having a small talk with the Sandshrew and Vog, who had ventured down to see what was taking them so long. You run and run, before breaking out into the light to the two cute imps looking at your shaking breathless form, and a bowl of candies laid out. Wildfire rejoins you only a moment later once you've calmed down, and you claim your prize, questioning if it was worth it. *Melissa and Wildfire received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* It was a few moments later after you had swallowed your heart back into your chest and recovered from the slight trauma where you are staring up at the Tower Flight event, with your Fletchling Zephyr. With a small bird pokemon suited for speed, your idea is simple: get through it as timely as possible. Taking off, the bird pokemon finds the opportunity to stretch her wings a luxury, and flitting through the hoops isn't difficult by any stretch, before venturing into the tower itself. Zephyr's movements are surprisingly swift enough to narrowly dodge the Seadra's water jets, but it isn't long before things get weird. Pushing through the battleground, transformed into a ritual circle with blocks here and there, things seem to become difficult to move around in. Indeed, the speed the Fletchling was famed for seemed to be working against her, as though she was flying through treacle, and found herself losing altitude. It was quickly evident the cause of the problem as a Gothitelle stood in the centre of the circle, channeling some sort of trick room spell around the room. Indeed, the spell forced the bird to land and hop through the field at a better rate, until she found herself outwith the field of influence and returned to flight. Ascending the tower, she spotted the ring nestled on the rocky outcrop and dived down to pluck it from the position, only to find things weren't going to be so simple. For one, the outcrop had stood up and was simply holding the ring between two fingers, the Golurk staring bemused at the struggling Zephyr's attempts to prise said ring from their grip. The giant eventually relented after a couple of moments, allowing her to break off with the ring in her grips, and it was then that Golestandt felt it was time to take flight after her. Alas, the Fletchling was clearly not wishing to stay close to the giant, having instinctively utilised a quick tailwind to rush forth, and it was a couple of seconds before the Golurk realised giving pursuit was a fruitless endeavour when the bird was clearly much faster. However, that didn't mean he wasn't going to make one last bump in the road. Bringing hands together, he released a ball of energy upwards, missing by mere inches as Zephyr evaded and hooked the ring onto the pole before being teleported down to Melissa by the pumpkin Lunatone. "I did give the big guy instructions not to do that..." Alex grumbled as the Golurk made their way to grab the ring for the next challenger, "but no major harm was done, right? Here's your loot for beating the event regardless." *Melissa and Zephyr received a Commemorative Tower Flight Package!* The contents are as follows: Spoiler: show Median Dia: A most unusual person you were, though the Swoobat not so much. A clever choice of ally, Alex mused, as you and Nadie ventured into the darkness. With visibility not the best, the Swoobat's skills with sonar were to your advantage as the pair of you made your way through the tunnels, building a picture of your surroundings and scoping out any traps that lay in wait. It was a foolproof strategy, but even the best laid plans have their flaws. One tunnel you ventured down was a little tricky, with the uneven walls and all that, and no support beams of note. It was with a quiet shriek that Nadie alerted you to something behind you, and that something was turning rapidly and approaching, like a tunnel bore! The sight of a large metallic disc with churning spikes definitely intimidated you, and you begin to run through the tunnel, very eager not to be rent into paste by the whirling machine. In reality, there was no machine, only a Ferrothorn skilfully using gyro ball to give the illusion of one, and the lack of speed Pridwen was known for meant there was little threat to either party. A bit dusty from your run, you emerge a little later to the sight of two cute little impious pokemon, the Minccino quickly giving you and Nadie a brush down with his tail as you collect your candy and leave via the offered exit. *Amicae and Nadie received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* Naru: You were extremely ecstatic for Halloween. Perhaps too much so judging by the irritated Hoothoot tailing you, and as you barreled forth into the maze, Alex gave a glance at the bird before tapping his nose in a scheming way. "Not to worry, a noise like that's only gonna get the attention of the resident trickster," he confided to the bird, who slowly followed after her. As you gleefully got yourself lost in the dark twists and turns, not a care in the world, Java was shortly encountered by an unusual purple feline, the irritable owl pausing as the Zangoose motioned for him to come a bit closer. A bit of whispering, and the Hoothoot could only give an almost entertained hoot at the sneaky plan. It was a couple of minutes before you realised that you were on your own, and as you wondered where Java had went, you hear a horrified and strangled screech echo throughout the tunnels, a sound that seemed avian in nature. Heading for the source of the noise, you quickly discovered a couple of feathers that felt familiar, making a slight trail. Following them, you then wish you hadn't as you find the unmistakable skeleton of a Hoothoot upon a wooden box, with a fork laying beside it. A scraping sound nearby alerts you to something coming, and the very quick sight of a book catches your attention, with a page opened with a title along the lines of 'cooking girls.' You take the option to not end up on the menu and very quickly rush out, not noticing the sight of Java and Totsuka watching your reaction from behind a beam. A moment of panicked running later you find the exit of the maze and the Aipom and Minccino dressed as imps looking at you, as well as the sound of fluttering as Java rejoins you, having been told to play along with the expected boredom of it all. In reality, the Hoothoot had enjoyed the look of shock on your face and it had almost made up for how dreary the night had been so far. At least he could look forward to that candy, perhaps. *Ariane and Java received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* Heather: Your interest in the Spire was strong, yet the sight of the owner of the base dressed as a miner meant that you had more immediate priorities. Alongside Kapp'n, you were confident in your ability to get through this dark maze with your sanity intact. The tunnels themselves weren't too rough, though that was perhaps down to the cranky Lombre waddling alongside you. One turn led the pair of you to a small rope bridge over a gap, and as you crossed the completely predictable happened as the bridge broke and both sides fell. You and Kapp'n plummeted and mercifully had a soft landing on a pile of sand, yet you realised you weren't alone for there was some sort of antlion creature nearby. The grumpy Lombre yelled at them to go away, which only served to spur the guised Sandshrew to rush forward and grab the Lonbre by the legs, the water pokemon's thrashing and protests serving to give you quite the amusement, even if those impromptu rope ladders looked a little tricky to scale. Eventually the Lombre kicked the intruder away, and by that time you had climbed up having got over the scare of a sudden drop, and while you waited for the Lombre you heard something that genuinely scared you. A low, deep creak of some sort...pushing it away, you and Kapp'n make your way through the rest of the maze without much trouble, the ill-mannered Lombre serving to negate any further scares as the pair of you reached the end and claimed your reward from the two adorable imps. *Mint and Kapp'n received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* Not done yet, you looked up at the interesting tower, marvelling at the contours and rugged looks, while Piper fluttered her wings in preparation for the flight she was about to undergo. Taking off, the Starly's small size and stature allowed her to dart through the external hoops without much difficulty, and turning into the tower you could have swore you saw it move a little bit. Nah, that was probably the adrenaline rush. Inside, Piper's first challenge came in the form of the Seadra who had situated himself at the far end of a corridor and was blasting forth an almost endless stream of bubbles. As much as she tried to detect a path through them, it was hopeless and the Starly could only take the path of least resistance, several of the bubbles popping and soaking the small bird as she soared over Napier who wasn't at all disheartened at his marksmanship. Giving a quick shake of feathers, Piper continues through the path set out, and the next trial ahead of the peppy starling came in the form of a large room with a chill within, not helped by the Abomasnow snoozing away in the middle of it. Shivering, the Starly opted to try and quickly rush through, yet there was some sort of icy wind blowing across from the snowman providing further intrusion. Pushing through, Piper crossed the room and was grateful to see a small brazier to warm herself up just in front of an open window. A brief break later, she reached the top of the spire and spotted the ring on the rocky outcrop, before diving down at speed to snatch it clean off. Turning around to fly to the ring, she found the outcrop to have moved and rose to feet of sorts, the giant Golurk taking flight after her. This time Golestandt was prepared as a barrier of rocks sprung from the ground and hovered in a field before Piper. Coming close to one of them caused the rock to magnetize towards her, but her quick detection skills allowed her to evade them. This did slow her down though, and the Golurk was upon her, swinging forth a hand to try and slap her down. Making evasive manoeuvres, the bird caused the stealth rock technique to backfire upon the Golurk as they found themselves being peppered by the stones, giving Piper enough time to make it to the pole and hook the ring on it. Nuhuko was on standby watching the spectacle, and teleported the pair back down to Mint, who was joined by Alex soon after. "Hah, that reminds me of a Starly I used to own, before I gave them to a bird collector. I wonder how they're doing...but I digress. Here's your loot for managing that challenge." *Mint and Piper received a Commemorative Tower Flight Package!* The contents are as follows: Spoiler: show biggggg5: The last visitor to the Spire that night was a man and his swinub, the piglet clutched in arms as Alex watched the pair enter the maze. He was a bit nervous, for he had heard that unusual groan too, and was concerned about the risk of a cave-in...but surely that wouldn't happen, right? He had conscripted Tantalia in construction, and the design was perfect, so the place was completely safe, even if he had left Tostuka in charge. "Oh Arceus, I think I may have made a mistake..." Your mantra of hatred towards someone aside, you slowly push through the tunnels, while keeping an eye on Elsa and your surroundings, already aware of the potential for pranks and traps. So focused on the fact, you fail to realise that the tunnel to the left of you appears to be a dead end, and that things are awfully quiet. Too quiet, in fact. A sudden rumble catches your attention though, and a little debris falling on you quickly spurs you into action as you rush forward, avoiding the roof suddenly collapsing upon you! A brief moment later, you realise there's no way back and you press onwards, while the sensation of being watched looms over you. Taking your walk into a run, you hear cruel cackles around you as more of the roof begins to collapse, and with the danger above you you fail to notice the path ahead is blocked. You're trapped! Another deep rumble around you has you and Elsa trembling, was this the end? Before you know what's happening, you feel something grab you from behind and pull you through the wall, something solid and rough. Covered in sand, you cough and turn to the sight of a Ferrothorn looking at you, spare vine pointing at a path and genuine concern in its eyes. Taking the hint, you hurry through and leave the mine, finding the bowl before you unoccupied and the sight of candy in your grasp. You quickly take one as a medley of pokemon emerge from the exit. *Big and Else received a Rare Candy for completing the Spooky Maze!* |

Upon Piper's return, Mint gave the starling a pat on the head. "You did great up there, Pipes. Here, have a Candy, you earned it." the young woman said, presenting Piper with her Candy from completing the maze. Piper happily consumed the treat, but her Trainer balked as the Starly began to glow a bright white. She became much taller, though still of a reasonable shoulder-perching size, and the curlicue atop her head grew more pronounced, until the white faded and left a proud Staravia behind. Mint knew something was up, and upon checking the pouch in which she'd stored the other candies she'd received that night, instead found seven wrappers where seven candies ought to have been, and just sighed. "Piper, you're flying for the boat ride back." she said, groaning, still unsure how the starling had pilfered all those candies without her notice. At least the package she'd received still had two candies. One could only hope that would be enough to satisfy Merengue for a time... (OOC: Good stuff all around! Claiming all the above rewards. Feeding 1 Candy to Piper the Starly, raising her to Level 14 and causing her to evolve into Staravia, and using the TM Fly on her as well. The other two candies will go to Merengue, my Swirlix, raising her to Level 6. *Merengue learned Fairy Wind!*) Code:
Piper is undergoing change... ...Piper's appearance changed... Piper evolved into Staravia!
