What are your three (or more) favorite things about the game? What is your one (or more) least favorite thing(s)?

Yeah most characters only have a single weapon type, and major characters other than Link only get two. And then of course Link has five and all five of them are completely different types of play.

2. The feeling of satisfaction. I get a real rush when I mow down a horde of dudes with an awesome combo or defeat a boss without taking a single point of damage. The game goes out of its way to make you feel like the invincible Hyrule Warrior you are, and it doesn't get old for me. The flash is a big part of it, the beautiful animation just makes me feel great. 3. Character variety. I love how different every single character and weapon feels. They all have their roles and mastering them takes time and energy. Yes, you can button mash, but if you do that, fuck you. And the harder challenges will do that for you. I didn't enjoy Impa much at the start, but then I got her naginatas and now I love her. Conversely, Sheik, Midna, Fi and Darunia have just completely clicked with me right from the off. My biggest dislike though? Co-operative play. This is just such a letdown. The framerate slows down HUGELY, the game lags, and no online play? This game should be perfect for co-op with the... questionable... AI and multiple objectives, but Team Ninja clearly put absolutely no thought into it. It's saddening. |

First DLC is out today. I did not realize how much content they were putting into the new Adventure Map. Like, Smash has taken away 90% of my attention to this game, but now I'm all hyped up again. Eeeeep.

HELP ME MOMMY THERE'S SO MUCH NEW STUFF I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO 100% THIS GAME.
ALSO THE NEW LEGEND MODE BRANCH THAT COVERS CIA'S STORY IS GREAT AND EACH BATTLE TAKES A THOUSAND YEARS TO FINISH. Last edited by Sneaze; 10-17-2014 at 08:29 AM. |

This is why I've yet to finish the actual story. It just takes so long for each level ;; (Although I think I'm on the last pre-dlc level in Legend Mode)

I have... Two more pre-DLC Legend Mode encounters. I just decided to try the DLC first to see how it was. And it was great.

Lana + Deku Stick for life. I love the combos, and I just adapted really well to it. Besides, how could you say no to this? That said, if somebody could please stop my boyfriend and his roommate from doing this literally EVERY time I choose Lana, I would appreciate that. XD I don't think my boyfriend's roommate has a favorite yet, but my boyfriend really likes Darunia (and I think he's quite fond of Ganon as well). That said, we actually haven't finished the storyline yet, so we may not have unlocked everybody.
So. Top 3 Favorite things so far: 1) A bit of a spoiler for the Legend Plot: Spoiler: show 2) Midna. I love Midna as a character. Any game with Midna in it is bound to make me happy to some degree. 3) While I definitely prefer some warriors to others, I feel like most of them can at least be made viable by equipping them properly (with few exceptions). I also like that you can pay for level-ups, since grinding characters that you don't use as often just because they happen to work for a particular scenario would not be a fun time. The bazaar works nicely and isn't needlessly complicated to use, at least in my opinion. Top 3 dislikes: 1) Control gripes. Using A as the special instead of the regular attack on the Wii-U controller has made me waste specials more than once, because I always assume intuitively that A is regular attack... And don't get me started on the Wiimote. Shaking for regular attack? Given how long these games can go, my arm gets tired by the time I finish a round. 2) I love Midna, yes... but Lord, I don't love her as a playable character in this game. Remember how I said that MOST characters are viable as long as you spec them right? Yeah... Midna is a mess. And maybe I'm just not using her correctly or there's a second weapon for her (God, I hope so) that will make her better. I was SO happy that she was included, but since she's so hard to play, I really haven't used her at all, which is really, really sad to me. Maybe I just need more practice with her or something. 3) No four-player co-op, and the co-op that does exist has its flaws. Ok, maybe I'm weird, but it seriously bothers me that I have to press the button as 2nd player every single map, rather than just press it once and have it carry over to subsequent maps. I always forget, and then we have to cancel out and my boyfriend has to select his character all over again. XP

As a note for everyone who isn't sure if they've unlocked everyone. I'm not going to say who all there is, but there are 13 characters in the game, which is bumped up to 16 after the free update that came out this morning. No characters have been introduced via payed DLC yet.

You shut your mouth Book!Lana is amazing, and Sheik is pretty good.
Volga's okay but a lot of his stuff feels like it takes too long to wind up. |

Sheik is rad as shit, but just.. She doesn't feel strong enough. And my friend keeps telling me Book!Lana is bad. Maybe I should stop listening to him. I dunno.

I really wanna like Fi but she's just so weak. Even with her special boosting her attacks she seems to do nothing. And her only attack of decent strength has a HUGE charge up.

So the last Legend Scenario was actually much shorter than I expected. Not sure whether that's good or not, but it is what it is.

Need a bad character in Hyrule Warriors?
I'd like to point you in the direction of Midna. She is just plain b*llshit awful in this game. Bad controls, weak attacks,
