Did anyone get a chance to try this game? (Of the possibly few people that have a PS3...) It's so much fun. Love to slap people at the end of the level if they get the highest score and I don't. Have yet to try out the building tools but I hope I get a chance to build something when I have more free time.

Sony didn't release a demo so~
And I don't drop $60 on *any* game much less one that doesn't look like its quite my style. |

I rented it for the New Year, and I can't quite say whether or not I like it. It's a quirky little game, I'll give it that. The soundtracks are awesome, the animation is wacky, and the level designs are very innovative. The thing that keeps me hooked is the collecting mentality, since everything pretty much has to be unlocked to make the greatest levels or have your perfect Sackboy avatar costume.
The level designing mode is daunting to me right now, having a completely blank slate in front of me just makes it feel like a gigantic task, I don't know whether I have the time for it, really. You would literally have to spend an entire day or more to perfect an idea you have for a level! Bottom line: I don't think I'm ready to dish out that much money for this game, but I enjoy it, it's a nice and fun way to kill time, but once I have my perfect Sackboy costume and maybe a level or two designed, the game will no doubt go on the shelf for a long time, much like my copy of Animal Crossing. |

Old thread, but I have to say this: The game is boring and not too fun.

Well for one, there is no point to the single player game at all, other than to say that you did, in fact, beat all of the levels. You can collect stickers to put on things, but what is the point? There is none, other than looking at the pretty graphics. You can play with other people online, but it is very difficult unless you shell out the extra cash for a headset, which I do not want to. Usually, my fellow players just end up getting me killed.
The level editor is daunting to use and very unintuitive. And this is coming from someone with a great deal of experience in level editing. I started with Doom II and DEU, and worked my way up through Duke 3D's build editor, Quake II's WorldCraft, and Unreal's UnrealEd, among others. LBP's editor is just not easy to figure out. I dunno. I bought into the hype and purchased the game hoping it would be great, but I feel that it just falls flat in so many areas. |
