I've sunk 3 hours into it and plan on sinking more. Considering a drunk let's play youtube series.

Anyway, today's deals are up.

Get:

Fallout: New Vegas

Dear Esther

Cave Story +

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Should I get RAGE or Metro 2033? I dunno, they both looked meh to me.

I didn't really get much. The only things that caught my eye were the Recettear bundle, one of the Ys games, and the Half-Life bundle. I might look more thoroughly later on, I might not.

It's been pretty easy to not buy anything for the last two days, because the deals have sucked.

That said, KOTOR and PvZ are awesome. Glad I picked em up. Still hoping Avernum will go 75% off...

Did you see this game: Avadon: The Black Fortress? It looks like an exact copy of Avernum by the same company, only the metacritic score is one point lower o0

Actually, it looks like Avadon has slightly better character portraits and graphics.

there is also a very similar series called geoforge, but avernum offers a party of 4 instead of one person which i like as well, but thanks for the tip MG

I did some more research on Avadon, Gr. It looks like Avadon has pre-determined classes and a more fluid party system (by that I mean you can get new characters for certain quests and stuff), and your party members have personalities and interact with you and each other. So basically, the party is less customizable but way more involved in the story. I think that if I end up getting one, I'll probably get Avadon, and that way we can compare them - also I like the idea of my party having a personality, rather than just being mindless fighting drones lol

While we're in the middle of the Spiderweb Software love in, the Geneforge series is pretty good: it's kind of like if Pokemon had a bastard child with isometric RPGs while snorting cocaine ground up in the shredded pages of arguments for and against cloning.

Haven't gone too deep into Avadon, but you get all the NPCs pretty early on (one for each class, though they're full characters so you can spec their talents, gear, etc.) and they have defined personalities and backstories versus being tabula rasas.
