I don't know if people have been having issues with this card, it seems to be a rarity, but I once had a long argument with a guy about you couldn't activate this card with El-Shaddoll Winda on the field. Besides that, I noticed that he didn't draw it that turn (as it wasn't his leftmost card in his hand) and he didn't play with it revealed. Don't get people wrong: You can play with it revealed till your Main Phase. You can place it in the S/T zone and it does the same thing.

As a note because this card has some serious potential cheating going on.

I haven't faced a Shaddoll deck in at least four days. I think the fad might be tapering down, at least on DN where Qliphorts (and, horrifically, Herald) are still a thing.

The interaction of Gale Dogra + Herald of Rainbow Light gives the deck three more searchers, and with the level bulk of The Ultimate Herald it becomes possible to drop both it and Krystia in the same turn. You get games like this:

They're not that great from what I've seen. I'm still hoping for them Korean cards to come out - Noden is slated for the next OCG release, so it won't be long before the Elder/Outer Gods and Great Old Ones head to the TCG too.

I faced a Malefic Deck earlier this week and lost to it, mainly due to the guy using Mound of the Bound Creator and Malefic Cyber End Dragon. This MCED, though, I got the better of:

So I've long put forth the hypothesis that on DN, people buy accounts that are already experienced so they don't look like newbies, even if they play like like them. But it's been complete conjecture, since there was no solid proof of that.

Burning Abyss are apparently kicking up a storm in the TCG. I mean its mainly because they have costless discard traps and grind out the game amazingly. Has anyone tried them out yet?

I've beaten them a few times. Like all the current TCG meta decks, they lack speed so if you can setup a field and hold it they do quite poorly establishing field presence through trouble.

The most annoying loss came when this guy creature swapped an Armades. :/

That honestly doesn't make sense to me. Burning Abyss honestly doesn't have issues with a developed field. Between costless PWWBs, KCs, and Wraths, the ability to +1 off of Monarchs, and perhaps most importantly, their insane ability to use Astral Force and plop a Pliedes or a Volcasaurus on board, they have a tone of tools for overcoming a developed field. It's not like they don't have speed either, through cards like TGU and Gates of Dark World the deck can easily get its combo pieces on the board. So...I can't believe you've been facing people who know what they are doing. ^^;

I haven't had any problem with it. You can negate their traps or spells with Forbidden Lance easily enough, and if you bounce, banish or negate Dante the whatever Burning Abyss gets spawned is just empty advantage.

I dunno what deck you saw, but the ones I've seen have all been Tour Guide into Dante spam, while trying to hold that field. Since I still main deck all the weapons to disable a deck like that (Effect Veiler, Maxx "C", Spacetime Trap Hole) I've had almost no trouble facing them. The only trouble I've see is when someone Creature Swaps or uses Storms Forth while I have Librarian out, which has happened once each (the aforementioned Swap with Armades instead).

Why I think they're not that scary: most of the outs to Burning Abyss are the same anti-support that have stopped meta in the past. Shaddoll are similar in while they've got access to a lot of power, having to rely on fusions, Special Summons and grave effects make them a bit easier to dismantle than say...Qliphorts.

Decks I've done poorly against:

Qliphorts

What I've noticed is any/all of the face-up Spell/Trap spam decks (Noble Knights, Qliphorts, DD) with floater Spell/Traps are the most dangerous are likely will form the backbone for the new meta. Nothing exists that can wipe out mass face-up Spell/Traps, and even if it can it can only destroy them which triggers the floater effects.

Qliphort effects which activate in the Extra Deck are close to impossible to stop running, and in the OCG people have moved away from Killer fear mongering into a Monarch-style Skill Drain deck. Qliphorts still have problems with consistency and speed, but once they get more support they're going to be a true terror to face.

This is my variant of the deck, and its pretty close to what I've seen of the "standard" decks. I dunno if you have seen anything similar (probably not from what you are telling me), but I've dueled with it and its hard to break down.

I'm not sure I'd use it even if it was. 4000 attack is nice, it's ability is cool for Soul Charge, but Leo is superior to it as far as meta is concerned. If it were Level 9, that would be different.

We need one of those.

Also, blaze: do you still run Goyo in decks that can use it?

Yes I do. My Shaddoll deck and my Mermail both use it because I have no good targets for Vulcan the Divine.

I've actually dropped Goyo and Level 6 entirely, although I think if I add a Level 6 back it'll probably be Orient Dragon instead, depending on the meta.

The problem with Goyo - even though he's got a nice 2800 attack, he's useless against Pendulums and activates the effects of a lot of decks. You don't want to run Goyo against Shaddolls unless you're running Shaddolls. Against HAT? Bad idea even if Goyo gets to the Damage Step. He's pretty impotent against Burning Abyss as well, since their effects would activate as CL2 over Goyo's (since, as per turn player priority, you get the CL1).

Ultimately, I think Goyo is probably better off in an XYZ deck that runs some tuners like Genex Ally Birdman or Effect Veiler, rather than anything that's actually Synchro centric. Because outside of running over Shi En - who has gone into retirement - I haven't seen anything worth using him on lately.
