UPN PASBL 2.0: Jeri vs @MMSnorby

Lavaridge Town Hot Springs: A quaint town at the base of Mt. Chimney, filled with hot springs warmed by thermal vents from the boilng magma below. Battlers start among the hot springs in the sandy area that surrounds them. Though the sand allows for easy digging, the water from the spring has compacted it enough to allow for easy transfer of Ground energy. The numerous springs that dot the area are filled with pleasantly warm water, warm enough to relax but not too hot that it might burn. Pokémon who enter the hot springs will feel immediately relaxed, resetting their mental state. Due to the rather warm nature of the water, any attacks that employ this water will make targets that dislike heat rather uncomfortable, though they will deal no extra damage.


Oh boy guys and gals, the new year just came and league reopened and the LOs are already at each others throats, lets watch.

You guys made PASBL, you do know the rules right? You know, the ones you wrote? Okay? ok.

Round 1: Select Evasion

Ahh the hot springs, a wonderful place to relax and loosen up.... or I guess as these guys have it, loosening up a can of whoop ass! Eh? Eh? No, Ok. Anyway as I said this is a pretty nice hot spring they got here in Lavaridge town, the sand soft to your feet and plenty of nice warm bodies of water to drown Wynauts in...or relax, or battle, your pick really. *Ahem* Anyway, here we got Jeri PASBL president, WF and the ancient force that secretly controls all of UPN (probably). On the other side of this amazing conflict we got Snorby, he's not as impressive but he does approve sigs...well when they exist anyway.

Wait, what's this folks it would seem the trainers are bored of our grand and epic introduction, indeed Snorby our not so silver LO has gone ahead and sent out his first pokemon, an Escavalier by the name of Select France, a medieval looking bug with an attitude, what's more our League President, master of WF and all around UPN Jesus has sent out his own combatant, a Mankey by the name of Jazz...smooth.

Further displaying their impatience with matters both trainers can now be heard barking out orders to their pokemon, Jazz having the initiative bursts forward toward his foe before allowing himself to slide across the smooth sand bellow, one of his legs arched for a kick which he quickly turns to deliver a spinning kick to under section of Select France....but he actually just goes right through him? Weird, what's even weirder is there seems to be like 4 of him? Well now any way, the one he kicked vanished.

Shocked by the turn of events Jazz takes a moment to decide if he wants to be pissed about what just happened or just plain confused, apparently deciding on the latter option he lets out a furious cry as a bubbling orange aura engulfs his fists, his feet quickly carrying him toward one of the many Select France gang.
Noticing this said Escavalier takes up a swift charge as well, a wispy white energy seemingly propelling him forward at something of an extreme speed towards the Mankey, but just as the two are about to come to blows Select France eases to the right causing his opponents punch to just glance off his shell as one of his spears cuts through Jazz's arm resulting in a whimper from the fighting type and a rather surprised look from Select France as the momentum of his attack in conjunction with a small scale explosion from Jazz's punch sends him flying a small distance....and it didn't vanish either, it was the real deal!

Round Summary:
Jazz took the worst of this round, having taken a nasty hit. Still good to go, seems really pissed though.

Select France was a slippery boi, better off than his opponent. Used up half of his Flying energy. No clones because I guess Snorby is Roto now.

Round 2: Breached Defenses

Coming to a halt after the outcome of the previous round Select France and his trainer decide it best to cement their lead by mitigating their predominately physically inclined opponents damage, the knightly boogs armor thickening, shining and seemingly extending to cover what little gaps he had in his defense. Undeterred by the increased protection Jazz emits a small chuckle before once more charging at his opponent with a fist charged with orange energy, but this time instead of a boiling glob the energy seems more stabled and condensed, the resulting strike making a noticeable impression in his foes shell, a disgruntled noise escaping the knight as the pain makes it clear his defensive efforts had no effect here.

Not one to take a scuffing of his armor lightly Select France briefly arches the larger of his spears backward, a swirling flurry of metallic, energy quickly encircling and coating the sharp appendage before he swiftly thrusts it into Jazz's body with careful precision, knocking the Mankey back slightly as a sharp pain jolts through his body. Figuring he may as well do the exact same thing he did the last time, Jazz does the same exact thing he did the last time, further denting France's armor and reminding us that you don't always need to be creative to be effective.


Round Summary:

This time it was France who took the largest beating, landing fairly close to the 2nd third. Has a Defense boost but it doesn't seem to be doing him much good.
Jazz also took damage I guess.

Both pokemon are starting to tire but can push forward well enough.

Round 3: Performing Familiar Tactics

Continuing with the theme of somebody using a boosting move every round both trainers order their pokemon to do much the same with both pokemon taking a different approach to how they go about it, Jazz starts off the little charging session by of all things…flexing his slanky monkey arms, the fighting type trying out a bunch of different flex poses as if he was in some kind of body building competition and he really needed to prove he was at least packing a little bit of heat, on the other one can see Select France performing some strange and intricate dance, the bulky knight bug showing an unsual amount of grace as he spins about in the air and makes various movements with his spears. With both trainers satisfied with some sort of result from this display we can now move on to more expected behavior.


Invigorated our combatants are moving on to their next set of orders, an all too familiar condensed orange energy forming around Jazz's now decidedly more menacing fist, which he promptly takes to smashing it into France's carapace, the close courtiers and fighting prowess of his opponent leaving little to no chance of evasion. Clearly at his wits end about all the dings in his armor France and his trainer decide its about time to put Jazz in his place, the knightly bug taking to another familiar technique, a wispy grey energy engulfing one of his lances before he quickly rams it into his opponent, sending Jazz reeling back in pain as mixture of flying energy and a FUCKING LANCE pierces through his very being.


Round Summary:
Both pokemon are now neck and neck,both having fallen into their 2nd third of health.
Both could use a break, Jazz a bit less so since lolFighting type.

Both have the boosts you'd expect, France is out of Flying energy.

Round 4: Snooze Fest

Taking their referee's advise to heart both combatants make an attempt to recoop the energy spent throughout their battle, but much like the previous round taking a difference in their approach for a similar task.

On one hand we got Select France sending some spooky green ethereal tendrils from within his shell like some kind of eldritch horror, the apparition making their way to Jazz before wrapping around the Mankey and siphoning energy from his body, transferring it into France. Now you might be thinking "Well that sounds horrifying" but apparently Jazz would disagree as it would seem as though the fighter can be found taking a nap as the tendrils fade to nothing.
Wonder what the little guy is dreaming about...

Round Summary:
Both combatants gained energy.

France used a pretty large amount of his Grass but has a smidgen left over.

Round 5: Stabbing n Shaking.

Waking up from his little nap Jazz perks right up and jumps to his feet, only to be greeted to the waking world with some perplexing orders, shrugging the Mankey assumes his trainer knows something he doesn't and begins to rhythmically stomp the ground until small tremors begin forming, ramping up in intensity until a significant portion of the arena quakes....France gives no fucks because he can float GG!!!

To make matters worse it would seem France has separated a portion of his life force into a dopple doll in order to fool our cranky monkey, its like that one GM all over again folks! Anyway, looking to redeem himself Jazz surrounds himself in a dark brown energy before performing some ti-chi like motions and proceeding to much the ground, upon the impact many large stones erupt from the ground, shooting up into the air before crashing down in the form of a cage around France...well his doll anyway lol.

With a lite chuckle Select France stabs Jazz with an energy infused lance, confusing his opponent just about as much as it hurts him, the Mankey having no idea how he could be getting hurt while his opponent lies within their prison.

Round Summary:
Both parties took some damage, Frances being self inflicted.
Both great for two, Jazz used up about half his Rock and a third of his Ground.
