(Oh, I forgot Pokemon can learn abnormal moves lol)
"Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!" Danny repeated excitedly, before going into game mode. "Poker, strike Minior with a powerful Zen Headbutt! Clockwork, Hypnosis on Minior!
The waves of Hypnosis flew from Clockwork's eyes and struck the Meteor Pokemon while it was powering up, hopefully putting it to sleep. Then, Poker slowly struck the Minior, the double Attack boost dealing a lot of damage, and Danny hoped it would be enough to bring Minior's Shields Down.

Terri's grin widened. Clockwork's Hypnosis simply bounced off the shell of the Minior, having no effect whatsoever on the Rock and Flying-type.

"Ohhh, bad move!" Gavin was saying. "Minior's shell might slow it down, but it also beefs up its defenses and protects it from status afflictions, so that Hypnosis was doomed from the start!"

Poker's Zen Headbutt, however, did the job and then some. While the Slowpoke was so slow that Chase had plenty of time to charge the Sky Attack, said Flying move still collided head-on with Poker's powered-up move in the center of the battlefield. Cracks formed in the shell as the pair of Pokémon pushed at each other, and the Minior's shell exploded off of it, revealing Chase's Indigo Core! Chase and Poker still seemed evenly match, each attack forcing the other back.

"And Minior's Shields are Down!" declared Gavin. "Things are about to get very interesting!"

"Now use Stone Edge!" Terri commanded. And without that cumbersome shell, Chase was much faster now, zipping all around in a display of pent-up energy before ramming into the battlefield. This caused a succession of sharp, jagged stones to erupt out of the battlefield in a straight line, headed straight for Clockwork! And due to Shields Down, this was also packed with more power than Chase's previous attacks.

"Ahh, crap!" Danny said. "Um, Clockwork, just fly like two feet to the left. Stone Edge goes in a straight line." Danny said calmly. "Now, Hoothoot, try out another Shadow Ball!" "Slowpoke, Yawn!"
The murky ball flew once more at the Indigo Minior, as the white gas enveloped it as well. Yawn cannot miss, but took an extra turn to make the Minior fall asleep.

Terri simply gave a mysterious smile. "Does it, now?" she retorted.

"Miniiiiiooooor!" squealed Chase, rotating his body like a steering wheel, causing the line of stones to veer to the left. However, as alarming as this was, it quickly became clear that Chase had overshot it a bit, and the Stone Edge still missed!

"An impressive display of control over Stone Edge, but it wasn't enough!" Gavin declared. "They don't call it Stone Miss for nothing!"

Meanwhile, Poker gave a great Yawn, and though Chase tried to dodge it, he was ultimately unsuccessful, and his movements became slightly sluggish as he fought the sleepiness, even as Clockwork's Shadow Ball landed for great damage.

Terri frowned. "Let's try and turn this around!" she declared, moving her arms. At that moment, Danny would likely notice two things. One, the Z-Power Ring on Terri's wrist. And two, the Psychium Z set into it, starting to give off light. Give off energy. Give off Z-Power.

"Miiii... niiiii..." yawned Chase.

"Ohhh, here it comes," smirked Gavin.

"Find your strength and yield to nobody!" Terri said as she moved her arms. "Make our minds join! Increase our power and direct it to our enemies!"

"Niiooooooooooooor!" exclaimed Chase as Z-Power flowed into his sleepy body. But he wasn't asleep just yet. His own Zen Headbutt was getting powered up, turned into the makings of something much more powerful, something he'd at least get to unleash upon Clockwork before succumbing to the Yawn at last.

And Terri knew it, too. "Now perform- Shattered Psyche!!!" she exclaimed.

"Another Z-Move???!!!! Again?" Danny gasped, as he watched the Minior strike Clockwork with the Z-Move. Hoothoot seemed to hang on with a sliver of health, before falling to the ground with a tired Hoooooooot.
"You did good buddy." Danny said, zapping the Owl Pokemon into it's Pokeball. But luck turned for Danny, as he quickly commanded the Slowpoke to strike Minior with a second Zen Headbutt, which was a sure hit due to the fact that the Yawn would make Minior fall asleep.
Slowpoke climbed up the Stone Edge as he jumped at the Minior, striking it for much more damage, with it's Shields Down and Slowpoke's previous Curses.

"Oooh, that's gotta hurt!" Gavin exclaimed as Shattered Psyche hit its mark, the Psychic-type Z-Move dealing great damage to Clockwork. "Aaaand... yes! Hoothoot is unable to battle!" declared Gavin. "It's one on one, but despite that amazing display of power from Terri and Minior, things aren't looking too hot for them!" Indeed, almost immediately after pulling off the Shattered Psyche, Chase fell asleep, hovering low in midair, not rotating at all, snoring gently.

"Come on, Chase!" called Terri. "Wake up and use Acrobatics!"

But it was no use- Chase continued to slumber away, while Poker lumbered forward. Slow going, but with plenty of power packed behind it, the Zen Headbutt sent Chase flying, crashing into the ground, and this time, its lack of movement wasn't from sleep.

"Critical hit!" Gavin exclaimed as he peered intently at Chase. "Aaaaand, Minior is unable to battle!" he declared as the crowd erupted in cheers (the Froslass from before was not joining in on this cheering). "Both of Terri's Pokémon have been defeated, so Danny moves on to the second round!"

Terri gave a small sigh as she withdrew her Minior, then she gave a nod in Danny's direction. "I did indeed enjoy the battle. Thank you," she said.

~~~~~
After the battle, Danny was brought back to the room where he could heal up his team, get himself a drink of water, pretty much relax and make sure he was good and ready for his next battle. And some time later, he was called back out to the battlefield for his second round battle.
"And Round 2 fucking begins!" Gavin exclaimed as Danny and his next opponent were heading out to the battlefield. "Our first battle of the second round- to my left, following a spectacular victory in Round 1, a Bird Keeper hailing from right here in Fizzytopia, give it up for Irwin Stratos from Breeze Town!" After the crowd's resultant cheering died down, Gavin continued. "And to my right, after seizing victory in a damn close Round 1 battle, I give you Danny Ecclestone from Vermilion City!" And once more, the crowd cheered as Danny and Irwin made their way out onto the battlefield. "Alright, same rules as the first round, so if you don't remember those, you're kinda screwed here. Now, then- let the battle begin!"
"My Pokémon have competed in countless PokéRinger competitions over the years!" Irwin declared to Danny. "They're used to doing their best in tough conditions!" And with that, he threw two Poké Balls. "Go, Colin! Go, Staraptor!" he exclaimed as a Yanmega and a Shiny Staraptor materialized in twin flashes of light, with blue sparkles swirling around the Staraptor, which elicited an envious look on Gavin's face.
'Shininess doesn't mean anything!" Danny slyly said, hoping to undermine the Bird Keeper's confidence. Danny threw his two Pokeballs into the air, the energy from them materializing into battle-ready Pokemon. "First strike! Clockwork, Tackle attack on the Yanmega! Poker, Yawn!"
The Owl Pokemon flew itself at the Yanmega, hitting it before flying to the sky. Poker yawned, the white gas enveloping both Pokemon, dooming them to eventually succumb to sleep.
"Danny's wasting no time, getting right into the fray and making the first strike! Not an easy feat to do with a Slowpoke, either," remarked Gavin as Clockwork charged in towards Colin and Poker gave a great Yawn.
"We'll use Tackle as well, Colin!" ordered Irwin.
"Yan ya!" rumbled the Yanmega, charging forward and colliding with Clockwork in midair.
"And Staraptor, use Astonish!" added Irwin.
"StarrrrRRAPTOR!" trilled Staraptor, flying forward suddenly and menacingly to try and make Poker flinch. However, super effective as the move was, the Slowpoke did not flinch, and managed to get off the Yawn, making both Staraptor and Colin drowsy.
"I don't think so!" declared Irwin. "Double Uproar!"
What followed was an earsplitting cacophony from both Flying-types, a horrible racket nobody could possibly sleep through, helping to dispel Yawn's effects while also dealing damage to the opponents.
"Motherfu- my ears!" Gavin yelled into the microphone, trying to make himself heard over the noise. "A double Uproar's certainly one way to make some noise up in here, and definitely a good way to stave off sleep! Yawn ain't gonna do shit in this racket!"
"Take this!" Danny said. "Poker, use Curse! Clockwork, use Leer!"
Poker quickly Cursed, and Clockwork gave an unnerving glare at both Pokemon. "Now, Poker, Zen Headbutt at Staraptor! Clockwork, use Tackle on Yanmega again!
The Curse's Attack boost, coupled with the defense lowering of Leer, let Slowpoke hit exceedingly hard, not fainting the Staraptor, but causing it to flinch. Hoothoot flew at the Yanmega, slamming into it before retreating.
"A damn good use of Leer!" Gavin was remarking at the top of his lungs. "An easily overlooked move for the most part, but since it works on both enemies at once in a double battle, that's some shit you don't wanna underestimate!"
The ensuing Zen Headbutt from Poker, with his Attack beefed up by Curse and Staraptor's Defense lowered by Leer, hit fairly hard, even causing Staraptor to flinch and stop his end of the Uproar, while Yanmega was still going strong, even as Hoothoot landed a Tackle attack.
"We've got them now, Staraptor!" exclaimed Irwin. "Double-Edge!"
"Starrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" trilled Staraptor as he dove down at Poker, landing a terrifically powerful blow. Curse was helping Poker out here, but Staraptor seemed to still be able to put more strength into the attack than what was usual, seemingly fueled by pure Recklessness. Of course, this corresponded to all the more recoil damage taken as well, but hitting the Slowpoke for such good damage, that wasn't nothing.
"And now we'll use Roost!" Irwin called out to Staraptor as Colin's Uproar continued.
"We need to stop that Uproar!" Danny said, blocking his ears. "Poker, Curse! Clockwork, Tackle that Yanmega again!"
Poker just sat there, it's Attack and Defense going up, and it's Speed dropping. On the other hand, Clockwork flew at Yanmega, striking it before flying backwards, retreating.
"Poker, strike Staraptor with a second powerful Zen Headbutt! Hoothoot, Leer them first!
Hoothoot glared at the two Pokemon, dropping their defense farther. Slowpoke jumped at the Staraptor, slamming at it, the defense lowering and attack doubling hopefully securing Danny a faint.
Once more, Poker went into a Curse attack to power himself up, while Clockwork relentlessly rammed into Colin. The Yanmega's Uproar had already started to die down by this point, and the Tackle ended it prematurely.
"Oh, thank Arceus," muttered Gavin. "And the Uproar's died down completely by this point!" he added, going back into his commentary without missing a beat. "Danny's not wasting a second here!" Indeed, Clockwork landed another Leer before Poker was able to unleash Zen Headbutt, making for an even stronger blow than it had landed previously. "Staraptor?!" exclaimed Irwin. Even after the Roost, Staraptor had been thrown backwards by the forceful attack.
"Ohhh! Staraptor is unable to battle! Tough shit for Irwin there- that Roost was too little, too late!" declared Gavin. "That Zen Headbutt hit like a freight train, and it's two on one already!"
"We won't go down without a fight!" declared Irwin, moving his arms. "Ready, Colin!"
"Yan ya!" rumbled the Yanmega, knowing exactly what was coming- Irwin was wearing a Z-Ring, and the Z-Crystal set into it was gleaming brightly.
"We push ourselves to our limits to unlock our greatest strength!" Irwin was saying as he moved. "We will soar high, higher than the clouds, higher than the great peak of Lanakila!"
"Things are just heating up here!" grinned Gavin as Z-Power flowed into the Yanmega. "Yanmega's gearing up for an all-out attack!" Indeed, Colin could feel his Air Slash being powered up into something stronger, something that was gonna land for huge damage on that Slowpoke.
"Use Supersonic Skystrike!!!" commanded Irwin.
(note; Irwin is not one of my Trainer characters and is instead a recurring NPC in my RPing, so I have no mini sprite for him, and thus I didn't do a whole thing inside a quote tag for this Z-Move.)
"Oh no, Poker!" Danny said, watching the Yanmega shoot up into the sky before slamming down onto Slowpoke, who obviously didn't survive the hit. "We'll heal you up, good work buddy!" Danny said, before zapping the Slowpoke into its Pokeball. "Clockwork, use Leer, and follow it up with a powerful Tackle!"
The Hoothoot glared at the Yanmega, before flying at it, the triple defense drop causing Tackle to do a lot of damage.
"Slowpoke is unable to battle!" declared Gavin once the dust had settled from the Supersonic Skystrike. "Setting up with Curse ain't a bad idea, but all the Curses in the world ain't doing shit to stop a special attack, and I'd bet my Shiny Charm that that Supersonic Skystrike was running off of an Air Slash! It's one-on-one now, ladies and gentlemen, fighting flier with flier!"
Irwin grinned. "This is where we excel!" he declared. "Go, Colin!"
"Yan ya!" rumbled the Yanmega, taking off at once. The roof of the Colosseum was still wide open, something both Flying-types could use to their advantage.
"Let's go! Use your Ancient Power attack!" called Irwin.
"Clockwork, dodge that Ancient Power, then blast Yanmega with a Hypnosis! Once it lands, hit him with a strong Tackle! Waves of Hypnosis flew from Clockwork's eyes, which should, if all goes well, put the Bug-type to sleep. It then proceeded to slam into the Yanmega, the lowered defense allowing Tackle to do a lot of damage.
"Ooh, that was close!" Gavin declared as Clockwork just barely dodged Ancient Power. "Any Pokémon that can fly is no slouch in the Speed department, but rare are those that can keep pace with a Yanmega! Hoothoot's got its work cut out for it here!"
But that wasn't the case for long- one big disadvantage of having such big, wide eyes that could see in so many directions at once was that it was hard for Colin to avoid looking at something. In this case, Clockwork's Hypnosis. The red eyes dimmed as Colin dozed off in midair, slowly descending towards the ground.
"No! Wake up, Colin, use Uproar!" pleaded Irwin. But it was no use- Clockwork was even able to land a Tackle unimpeded, though while they were looking good to finish this match, the Yanmega was still merely asleep, and not actually knocked out.
"Yes! Clockwork, Leer him! Then Tackle him very hard!" Clockwork flew at the sleeping Dragonfly, glaring at him, before striking the Yanmega, the four defense drops making the Tackle virtually a high power move.
"Now here's a good question," Gavin remarked as Danny gave his orders. "Does Leer even work on a sleeping Pokémon or do they need to be awake to see it?"
They might never know, alas. But either way, when Clockwork slammed into the Yanmega, Colin went spiraling towards the ground, landing in a disheveled heap, and this time, its lack of responsiveness was not from mere sleep.
"Aaaand, Yanmega is unable to battle!" Gavin declared. "Both of Irwin's Pokémon have been defeated, so Danny is moving on to the semifinals!" The crowd went wild with cheering, and some of them were even chanting Danny's name.
"Whoof," sighed Irwin as he withdrew Colin. "What a crash landing... We still need more training," he stated. "Good battle," he then called over to Danny.
It was the same as before, with Danny brought back to his waiting room where he was able to heal up his Pokémon, drink some water, rest up. And soon, a voice over the speaker called Danny out to the battlefield.
"Fuck yeah! Semifinals!" Gavin was practically yelling into the microphone as Danny was brought back out to the battlefield. "Are you all ready to see even more awesome battles?!" The crowd roared their approval in response. "You're damn right!" Gavin grinned. "Let's welcome our first pair of semifinalists onto the battlefield! On my left, an Ace Trainer from Kalos, Willa Carnet from Kiloude City!" None other than Keith's girlfriend walked onto the opposite end of the battlefield. At the prospect of a battle, her usually expressionless face blazed with excitement. "And on my right, the newcomer from Kanto who's been blasting through the competition- Danny Ecclestone from Vermilion City!" he added, with even more cheering coming from the crowd. "Get yourselves ready for one hell of a Pokémon fight, ladies and gentlemen! And you two obviously oughta know the rules by now, so... let the battle begin!"
"You lost to Keith earlier, but you must really be good to make it this far into a Colosseum challenge," Willa stated. "Show me that power now!" With that, Willa threw a pair of Ultra Balls, sending out her Mawile and Doduo.
"This is gonna be fun!" Danny said, throwing both his Pokeballs into the air. "Clockwork, pick up Poker, then blast Doduo and Mawile with the strongest Hurricane you got, and follow it with a Hypnosis on Doduo! Poker, strike Mawile with a strong Zen Headbutt, then go for a Curse!
Clockwork picked up the Dopey Pokemon, then began to flap its wings vigorously, stirring up a huge windstorm. It blew back both opponents, dealing a big chunk of damage due to the nature of the move. After dropping Poker on the Mawile, it blasted Hypnosis waves at the two-headed bird Pokemon, hopefully putting it to sleep.
On the other hand, Poker braced for impact, sparkles collecting at his forehead, before slamming into the Mawile, the power causing it to flinch. After retreating, the Slowpoke proceeded to raise it's Attack and Defense, dropping its Speed.
And the battle began! Clockwork took Poker into the air, and let loose a Hurricane attack! "Holy shit, that's power!" Gavin exclaimed. "Dude's been holding back all this time!"
Willa was undeterred. "Mawile, use the spinning for Swords Dance!" she ordered. "Doduo, Mirror Move!"
"Maw!" grunted Mawile. While the Hurricane spun them both around, Mawile's iron jaws glowed brightly as she used the momentum of the spinning to power herself up. And once the attack let up, Doduo unleashed gale-force winds from her beaks, bombarding Clockwork and Poker with a Hurricane of her own.
Then came the Zen Headbutt and the Hypnosis. Mawile took a decent hit from the Zen Headbutt, although the way her presence seemed to Intimidate her opponents at the start of the fight seemed to soften the blow somewhat, while Clockwork landed a Hypnosis, both heads of Doduo falling asleep at once.
Willa didn't seem unnerved by this. "Mawile, Astonish," she said, while watching Doduo intently. And Mawile suddenly lunged at Poker, bellowing frighteningly, iron jaws wide open as she attempted to both deal super effective damage and startle the Slowpoke into flinching.
"Now, Clockwork, use Dream Eater on Doduo, then follow it with another Hurricane! Poker, Curse, then Zen Headbutt at Mawile!
Clockwork flew towards the Doduo, opening its mouth and sucking on its dreams, regaining health. Then it blew another Hurricane, its Tinted Lens powering the move, canceling the type resistance on Mawile, and adding a bit extra power to it.
Poker Cursed, before smacking the Mawile.
Danny was quick to capitalize on Doduo's slumber with Clockwork's Dream Eater, but Willa didn't look worried. "Now!" she exclaimed, and all four of Doduo's eyes popped open, cutting the Dream Eater short before too much damage could be done. "All right!" she exclaimed. "Doduo, Sky Attack! Mawile, withstand the Hurricane and fight back with Ice Fang!"
"And Doduo wakes up before Dream Eater can do too much to it!" declared Gavin. "It's not often you see a sleeping Pokémon wake up so soon, but in this Doduo's case, it's pretty standard for it. After all, the Early Bird gets the Wurmple!"
Doduo closed her eyes and focused, glowing harshly and building up energy, while they both took the Hurricane. It was dealing some decent damage, but Willa knew it couldn't be helped, especially since her Pokémon were about to deal some pretty decent damage themselves. Mawile then lunged, landing a forceful Ice Fang on Clockwork, further fueled by Swords Dance for great damage. Of course, she then took the Zen Headbutt, and while it was a resisted hit, the repeated usage of Curse was absolutely helping to compensate for the Intimidate. All Pokémon in the fight were showing signs of definite damage, both sides were doing good, a point further reinforced by the crowd's eager cheering.
"Clockwork, dodge that Ice Fang, then strike back with another Hurricane, followed with a Hypnosis on Mawile! Poker, Curse, then Zen Headbutt Doduo!
Clockwork flew quickly, nearly dodging the Ice Fang, using it as an opportunity to hit Mawile with a Hypnosis. She proceeded to repeat her Hurricane, which had the chance to strike Mawile close-range, causing a bit more damage. Poker jumped at the Pokemon, slamming into it headfirst. The multiple attack and defence rises caused the Doduo to unfortunately flinch.
"And Ice Fang misses Hoothoot!" said Gavin as Mawile's frost-coated jaws clamped down on thin air, Clockwork having flown out of the way just in time. "Big super effective damage just narrowly averted!"
"Eyes shut, Mawile!" Willa ordered, and Mawile complied immediately, not daring to look as Clockwork went for Hypnosis. Meanwhile, Doduo finished charging for Sky Attack as Poker used Curse, and the two went right at each other at full power. Poker was fueled by numerous Curse uses, while Doduo was backed by the sheer power of Sky Attack. The collision of two high-energy attacks resulted in an explosion, throwing up more dust than a Hippopotas with the stomach flu. It took a minute for the dust to settle, but once it did, Gavin had a call to make.
"And Doduo is unable to battle!" he exclaimed. Indeed, the forceful clash and ensuing explosion had been more than Doduo could take, and the Twin Bird Pokémon had collapsed. It seemed that the Defense boosts from Curse were all that had saved Poker from a similar fate.
Willa wordlessly withdrew Doduo, murmuring softly and reassuring to the Ultra Ball before turning her attention back to the battle. "It's just us now, Mawile," she stated. "So let's even things out!" And as she said this, she moved her arms, activating her purple Z-Power Ring and the sinister-looking Z-Crystal set within.
"Maw maw!" exclaimed Mawile, moving her little arms in sync with her Trainer, turning to face Poker.
"We aim high... we dream big..." Willa said as she moved. "And to our opponents, we are the bad dreams!"
"Maaaaawile!" responded Mawile as Z-Power flowed into her. Her Astonish attack was being powered up into something far stronger, something that would surely turn the tides, especially given its Swords Dance boost.
"And they're gearing up for a Z-Move!" Gavin was exclaiming. "Curse or no Curse, Slowpoke's not looking too hot at this point, and with those poses, this is probably gonna be super effective!"
Willa's grin was positively Gengaresque in its width by this point, the battle getting her more excited than she ever tended to let people see her get. "Go... Never-Ending Nightmare!!!" she commanded.
