Mega Dunsparce Bladur's Gate 3

At the Microsoft pre-E3 event, this teaser was shown:

BORKED
Link here.

Larian Studios, the guys who are behind the Divinity series will be making the third(/fourth?*) game in the Bladur's Gate series.
*- Beamdog made a game between BG1 & BG2 called Siege of Dragonspear that was divisive. So that's kind of a third game.

It's pretty interesting to bring the series back, but I suspect it won't be a continuation of the original BG storyline but rather just using the Baldur's Gate city as the setting and use the famous name Baldur's Gate rather than D&D [Mindflayers Rise] or whatever.

Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2 were both very well received. Larian Studios are pretty good overall with setting and world building from my experience with Divinity: Dragon Commander.

So even if it is just a modernized D&D game without having to deal with the Bhaalspawn, I'm hopeful it will just be a good game. Dragon Age has long departed away from the tactical aspect of D&D-esque RPGs and leans much more action tactical system.

When do we get Baldur's Gate: Descend into Avernus as a game?

This looks super fun! Maybe Descend into Avernus will be the DLC episode? Would like to fight Zariel in a video game.

Also please let me play as a Tiefling. All I ask.

Surprisingly I have an open mind to this! The Sword Coast region depicted in the games was much more fascinating than the Bhaalspawn story itself, and that's saying a lot considering how great that story was. If they keep the renaissance flare, the Age of Discovery level technology, it doesn't really matter who they populate the city with.

I wonder if they'll restrict entrance to the city itself until midway through the game. That really made it a lot more special to go there, along with the trek across the Dragon's Way.

Larian Studios put out a jokey video about acquiring the D&D license and being allowed to use the name Baldur's Gate 3.

EDIT: So it seems there's a canon Baldur's Gate storyline for the Bhaalspawn saga. Also, it ends in the modern era of D&D in 5th Edition with the module Murder in Baldur's Gate and regardless of player's actions, Bhaal is revived and takes his godhood back from Cyric. While I don't love the idea of set canon story for a player driven event, I am glad we have Bhaal back instead of stupid Cyric.

Fextra Life did an interview with Larian Studios founder to explain more details about Baldur's Gate 3. Big things are now known because he asked some pretty good questions.

1) BG3 takes place after Descend into Avernus. There will be no carryover from previous Baldur's Gate games and they consider that saga closed. We can assume from this it will have nothing to do with the Bhaalspawn saga.
2) Will be using rules based on 5th Edition. This was probably pretty obvious. Character customization and subclasses will be available.
3) There will be environmental effects. You can flip a table to throw at a guy.
4) Some characters from previous BG games will appear. It's known that Minsc is now reborn as a living statue. It's been over 1,000 years since the original BG, so maybe some Elves are still alive.
5) Co-op will be a thing.
6) Unknown release date. They're taking their time to make it right.

Not anymore. Hah!

Looking forward to Loki's review, since Steam is a no-no for me even if the game looks pretty promising. I would be willing to keep an open mind to the changes.

Spoiler: show
Please do a review and don't let UPN become Botter's Gate.
