Pikachu Happy Lunar New Year 2020!

It's that time of the year again, when fireworks light up every sky and lanterns of red and gold line every street. It can't be escaped, no matter which region you're in or even most TV channels you watch, and why would you want to? With fantastic, colourful parades to admire, dance competitions to join and yummy food to be devoured, there are so many ways that one can help ring in the Lunar New Year! This might not be the calendar that we follow day to day, but everyone knows that this is the biggest and most lit celebration of the whole year! Of course, it can be a nightmare for the introverts, especially with all of the people migrating from place to place and all of the noise, but it's probably best to get stuck in just a little bit. You wouldn't want to upset your ancestors, right? And you DO have a boyfriend or girlfriend, right?? Because if you don't, you best go hire one and put on a show, don't you want us to be happy---?!

Regardless of your obligations or how you plan to see out the end of the Year of the Grumpig, thanks to your services to Fizzytopia, the mayor has sent some lovely gifts your way! How about that? Now, say thank you, honour your ancestors, and remember not to shower on New Year's Day! Happy Year of the Rattata!

Please post to pick up your gifts! We apologise that role play money and bond cannot be claimed on this event. Please try to avoid bad language so as to not muddy your or anyone else's fortunes.

A red envelope containing $500
A tray of jaozi, including one special dumpling that will teach a Pokemon a natural EM or MT move upon consumption!
2 x New Year Candies (the same as Rare Candies!)
1 x Cherish Ball

Thank you for your services to Fizzytopia, and we wish you a fortunate year!

Not more shop posts to update...

Claiming the above items, thank you very much! Happy Lunar New Year!

(Btw, for those who don't know, jaozi means "dumplings" in Chinese. Just looked it up.)

Thank you for your services to Fizzytopia, and we wish you a fortunate year!
A small drag, just one large hike of the cigarette was all he needed to keep going. This year was his year, not literally though, as he was born during the year of the dog. But this year would be a year dedicated to himself and his Pokemon. He wanted to improve himself and become a better trainer in the process. He walked slowly down the street, eyeing the lanterns as he passed. Ahri walked proudly behind him, her confidence steadily growing since her ordeal. Her younger brother hopped behind her happily, white coat shimmering in the moonlight as he excitedly jumped down the street. Ezra trailed close to his mother, watching his uncle with wonder in his eyes. Luca and Milo weren't far behind, the Grovyle giving a bright red apple a piggyback ride as it took in the sights. The tiny Applin's eyes were alight with wonder, never seeing anything like these sights before.

'Ri! Look at me!' Called Arlo, running ahead of the group and stuffing his head inside an unlit lantern on the ground. He was aware that his sister's spirits were heavily dampened following her mate leaving her, and he would do everything in his power to see his sister smiling and bright again. She had grown a little more stern following the birth of his nephew, but he was certain that the fun loving mischievous Ahri was still in there somewhere. He turned to face her with the light on his head, barking happily. 'Look! I'm finally bright!' He chuckled to himself. Ahri walked forward, he couldn't see her face but he could hear the giggle in her voice as she brushed the lantern off with her tail.

'You wish you were bright like that lamp, all I see is my doofus younger brother.' Her brow furrowed, not in a way that displayed a negative emotion, but rather in an attempt to keep her laughter inside her. Ezra tilted his head, confused. Arlo grinned, a wide grin that took over his face. He was happy to finally see his sister in high spirits again, he glanced back towards his adoptive brother and Milo. The Dartrix was chirping happily, feeding the tiny Applin a strange looking treat. The Applin's eyes closed happily and it squeaked out, causing Milo and Luca to laugh. Arlo smiled again, noticing how grown up everyone looked. Luca and Milo looked like some old married couple with their child, Ahri had a son of her own, and he was still... Arlo. He hadn't changed much, nor had her really even considered the possibilities of growing up. He glanced towards the moon, he had always felt a certain sense of warmth when he looked up at it. He wondered if his mom was proud of him, considering how far his siblings had come. He sighed, ears drooping slightly.

'Chin up, Arlo!' A voice called, causing him to turn. He could see his master showing how Ezra fireworks in the distance while Ahri nervously hovered over them both. Milo had approached him with a slight sprint in his walk. He could see that Adam had gotten tired out, and was now snoozing in Luca's arms. 'What's up buddy?' Milo asked, nonchalantly putting his arms behind his head.

'I dunno, Milo.' Arlo sighed, 'I'm just thinking of how much Ahri and Luca have grown. Heck, you and Luca look like a couple carrying around Adam like that.' He continued, causing Milo to flush red and start to protest. 'It's fine if you are! I'm not judging!' Arlo smiled warmly, Milo clammed up, sweating slightly. 'I just mean... I'm still an Eevee. You all seem like such adults compared to me.' He sighed, looking back at his sister. The age difference was hardly there, but most people would probably assume Ahri was a lot older.

'A-ah.' Milo started, swallowing hard before clearing his throat and continuing. 'Well, you can change that. Can't you?' He looked around and saw Luca coddling Adam while Ahri and Ezra watched Pikachu shaped fireworks in wonderment. 'It's a new year after all. New year, new you.' He smiled, a blush chasing onto his snout as he spoke while staring at Luca. Arlo looked up at the moon once more, realizing that Milo was right. He had never really considered an evolutionary path for himself, but now, looking up at the moon, he felt like he finally understood himself.

The small white Eevee ran atop a stand, letting out a few barks before giving a mock howl at the moon. His appearance shifted, gradually at first, but it slowly morphed into a black creature with glowing yellow eyes and blue markings upon it's body. He wagged his tail happily, feeling stronger, more grown up than before. Milo gave him a thumbs up, and Ahri trotted over, a sleeping Ezra upon her backside.

'I like it!' She smiled, before a coy grin shot onto her face. 'It suits you, it's edgy.' She laughed, causing Arlo's ears to droop. But he smiled nonetheless.

This year was his year. And he wanted his family to be happy.

[Arlo evolved into a Shiny Umbreon! Arlo learned Snarl!

Well, uh, I don't have much in the way of rats, but bats are pretty common in my charge. Some folks call them 'flying rats', so it's close enough, right?

*Obtained $500!*
*Obtained New Year Candy x2!*
*Obtained Cherish Ball x1!*
*Clyde the gligar learned EM Rock Climb!*

...Gligar's part bat, I swear.

It had been a wonderful celebration. As of late, Keith Masters and Willa Carnet had started to ease up on the whole mindset of absolutely needing to do nearly everything together, and had been doing more things on their own. That wasn't to say that their feelings towards each other had changed any- they were both more than willing to spend time with each other, and still needed but the flimsiest of excuses to decide it was a good evening to go out to dinner, or for a walk along the beach, or even just sit in the living room and watch TV together (not to mention, they still lived together, a living arrangement they were both very much still happy with). And today, the Lunar New Year celebration in Yupien City was a perfectly good excuse as far as either of them were concerned. There was delicious food, amazing parades, and even a dance competition. Willa had her doubts about her and Keith entering that last one, but his encouragement bested her uncertainty, and while they didn't win, they came close. Far closer than Willa had realistically expected.

Now, night had fallen, and the couple was lying next to each other on a small, especially grassy hill, watching an awe-inspiring fireworks display, smiling as they held each other. Neither of them were speaking, but neither of them needed to, not in that moment. They simply laid back, watched the fireworks, thoroughly enjoying the moment and wishing the fireworks display would never end. Alas, it kinda had to at some point, and after a jaw-dropping finale, culminating in a dazzling display of pyrotechnic perfection in which several simultaneously launched rockets all blew up at once in a way that created the likeness of the legendary Ho-Oh in the night sky, there was now nothing keeping them from turning their attention to each other. Especially considering that after setting the scene with its newly-learned Grassy Terrain, Willa made sure to withdraw her Skiddo, in the hopes of preventing any interruptions. And as the couple's lips met, very fortunately for them, these anti-interruption measures did their work flawlessly.

*Obtained 500!*

*Skiddo learned the Egg move Grassy Terrain!*

*Obtained 2 Rare Candies!*

*Obtained the Cherish Ball!*

Thanks for this event, Meetan! Pretty cool that this is becoming a yearly thing.

I don't really have any rats on my team because rats get eaten by my Pokemon instead of getting added, but maybe that's part of how the Year of the Rat gets celebrated!
