Pokemon anime may be ending
The upcoming series is simply titled "Pocket Monsters" like the OS, and is supposed to feature all regions introduced in the games.
There's a lot of possibilities. A hard reboot with a new protagonist. Ash becoming Alola's Champion and representing it to the world. A continuation of the movie AU canon. Either way, it looks like the anime as we know it is coming to an end. I don't like this.

It's not, they pull this stunt all the time as any long running watcher of the anime knows.
- The first DP anime advertisements in 2006 just showed Dawn with Dialga/Palkia behind her and no Ash (or Brock), making people think she was the new protagonist and Ash was leaving after AG. Then later on we get an Ash poster. - The first BW anime advertisements again had Iris/Cilan and no Ash. And it did come across as a semi-reboot even though it maintained continuity eventually. - And of course Sun/Moon's complete change in art style and Ash's new design threw people off back in 2016 when this was coming directly off of XY. Some tried to claim SM was a reboot for the longest time. Ash will be in Galar no doubt, but from the sounds of this we might get to see other trainers in older regions. |

This is intriguing. I'm fine with Ash, but at the same time, I got no problem with starting fresh if the new protagonist is a good one. But right now, we can't say either way what's gonna be going on here with any level of certainty. Pretty much just gotta wait and see.
