The trainers and their Pokemon worked hard to remove the last of the Kingdra’s shields before Gary’s Lapras could blast it with a powerful Freeze-Dry. Kingdra was none too pleased however, and blew back a chilling Icy Wind, which knocked out Goomy, followed by another powerful Max Wyrmwind that Togetic once again shrugged off effortlessly. As the round came to a close, Gengar shrunk back down to normal size as the Dynamax energy wore off.

With their health depleted, the trainers broke into a defensive formation and focused on recovering their injured Pokemon. An assortment of chocolates scattered across the reef after Azumarill’s Chocolate Bomb exploded off the Kingdra’s side. Kingdra continued its onslaught of ranged attacks, and after a Max Steelspike against Gary’s Lapras, its defense slightly boosted.

Now that all trainers’ Pokemon were back in action, Gary’s Lapras continued to heal them into a more comfortable range of health while the rest continued their assault. None too pleased, the Kingdra began to grow a little more desperate as it summoned another set of shields to protect it. Focusing on Azumarill, Kingdra unleashed a powerful Max Geyser that blasted so much water into the atmosphere that it began to rain.

With the Kingdra’s shields up, there wasn’t much the trainers and their Pokemon could do but knock them down. Once all six remaining shields had been broken, the Kingdra was left exposed, but also still enraged. It unleased a flurry of attacks, targeting Gary’s Lapras especially, but fortunately the transport Pokemon was able to soak in the water to restore some health back. Now that the shields were completely gone for good, it was up to the trainers to keep up the offensive pressure.
