I made a new track. I haven't made anything in a while, and I decided to make something that doesn't really have a definite genre. If this is a genre, however, let me know because then I can add more tags to the track. :P Anyway, let me know what you think, and if you know anyone that might like it, share it around.

Hey, look what finally came out on CD :
Spoiler: show Nice to finally have the 320kbps version sans television dialogue available. I mean, the scene is fucking amazing, but it's nice to have the song separately too.

Decided to look for the Atsu-hime soundtrack just for this one song: 雲のみ行く, "Going to [None] but the Clouds". It usually plays when shit has just gone down, be it when the protagonists have found out that the antagonists have accomplished something or be it when the protagonists declare their intent to confront/challenge the antagonists. Pretty exciting song that does its job perfectly of making you feel like you're watching the final throwdowns of a dying era.
If nothing else, you should check out that song; but if you like what you heard, then while these songs are of a different musical flavor, here are some more recommended songs for you to check out from that same series: Spoiler: show Now I just need to get Psycho-Pass OST 2, HxH Greed Island OST, and Polar Bear Cafe ED12 and I'll be set for a while.

Guys, please don't use embedded YouTube videos outside of spoiler tags in this thread, as a courtesy to your fellow users. If we all use it, it fucks the thread up. And it's not fair for some to get to use it and not others. So the solution is that nobody uses them -- or at least not without spoiler tags.
We've actually kinda sorta already made this a thread rule, so if you missed the memo, here you go.

I've been on a bit off a kick lately listening to covers of various musicals, which has lead me to finding some very good covers, some absolutely outstanding.

This is about the only thing getting me through the reading I must do today. Played the Viola part some years ago on a tour of Hungary, still remember most of it it seems.
Don't do MAs, kids. You have to work for them ;; EDIT: Oh man I forgot how much I like 30:40. Last edited by Mercutio; 05-01-2013 at 08:00 AM. |

Slayer's lead guitarist died today. A legendary shredder and a forefather of metal, RIP Jeff Hanneman. Here's arguably his most famous song, Raining Blood.

Since I have been watching Genesis of Aquarion, it means that I have been listening to the theme song a fair bit, and dear god is it really catchy.

Got linked to this. It's pretty good. But you know what's even better that I got off of that?
Summer(Lyra and Bon-Bon.)

To be fair ... I should offer some comparisons of what you're up against.
The Lyra & Bonbon song gets an A for effort though. But the brony fandom's got a long ways to go. Sadly. My friend is as big a fan of ponies as he is of Touhou, and he sorely longs for bronydom to put something out on par with Alstroemeria Records or Tutti Sound.

A Megaman concept band? Have never played a Megaman game myself (although I have at least some awareness of major characters/ideas due to cultural osmosis and being the sort of person who hangs out at game shops having nerdy chats with the staff) but it's surprisingly fun music!

All your links were Touhou versions of...I don't even know what. Background music, I suppose? Instrumental compositions that are good enough? They're club music at best. The Nuclear Fusion is pretty good, and an exception to the whole instrumental thing, but... That might be your thing, but it's nowhere near mine. The brony fandom churns out actual, real, _songs_ by the dozen. Summer(Lyra and Bon-Bon) is just a simple song, a feel-happy one. If you want to compare links, this is what Touhou is up against. Loyalty - Mandopony (In my opinion; one of the best songs ever) The Moon Rises - Ponyphonic, to be followed by... I Am No Hero - Mandopony Beyond Her Tomb[Tomb Rap] - Micthemiczero + Glaze + The Living Tombstone And, of course, no linkfest can be complete without: Rainbow Factory - WoodenToaster If you want something a bit lighter: Love Me Cheerilee - Wooden Toaster + Tombstone So...yeah. What have we learned? Don't mess with brony music in front of me. Edit: In case it wasn't overly obvious, I was not being totally serious - I tend to highly, highly, highly dislike instrumental songs or lyrics I can't sing along to very well...which is 99% of Touhou's music. The fact still remains, however, that the brony fandom has churned out some great music.

Today's entry in "Things Kush uses to try and disguise how lame it is to sit in a library day after day" is Rush's most recent album, Clockwork Angels. I recommend it to everyone. I'm seeing them play most of it in London this month, which is gonna be badass.
