Orlando was glad that he got his foot in the door, especially after that rather... odd, though kind, reception. Upon entering, Orlando immediately felt a little sick as he watched the entire tower sway rhythmically, which somehow seemed worse from the inside (perhaps it was the subtle movement of the walls in addition to the support beam?).

When Enni lead Orlando up to the second floor and made his request, Orlando wondered why more people didn't come seek wisdom. If all they asked in exchange for the secrets of the universe was a quick clean-up job, he expected people to be crawling all over this place for some cheap retribution. The more he thought about it, the more he felt like there might be some kind of catch, but this guy seemed trustworthy enough.

"Sure, we'd be glad to help," Orlando replied, releasing Lily and Max, "These two should be able to find your food and help ferret out any thieves, right guys?"

The two Pokémon responded with a cheer and an ear twitch respectively.

"Alright, the three of us will go up and find the five bags of food that have been dragged off. You two look in any nooks and I'll search the more open parts, got it?"

The Pokémon gave positive responses and the three of them headed to the floor above to begin their search.

Heading up the stairs leads to another large floor, though this one barely lit. The first of the food bags is hardly difficult to find, the small bag ripped open by a group of Rattata not ten feet from the stairwell. Further food trails deeper into the tower room, but given the height of the tower and the size of the rooms it's unlikely that it's spread out much further. The Rattata are quick to notice your presence as they squeak and chitter in panic, two of them grabbing as much food as possible from the bag while the third takes an offensive stance in front of them. The two that were pillaging quickly become defensive around what they've stolen before the third rat charges at you, striking at Max with a Quick Attack before any response can be made. Max doesn't seem overly bothered by the blow, though, signaling it was pretty weak in comparison to what he's grown used to.

"Rattata," Orlando grumbled under his breath. These Pokémon were all too familiar to Orlando, who had not terribly fond memories of having to deal with these little rats in the cargo hold of the ship. Rattata duty often fell to him as the least senior crewman, and he often dreaded having to fish them out of corners and trap them in cages, only to have to watch over them until they could be dumped at the next port to cause trouble for someone else. He even found a rather fat looking, black one once that he thought was particularly nasty. He had gotten rid of these things with much less than he had now, so he wasn't too concerned about taking care of them, but he had definitely hoped he wouldn't have to do it again once he made it to land. Though, this was all for the greater good, right?

"Alright, Lily, round them up with some Thunder Waves, and, Max, put them in their place with a Double Kick or two."

Orlando was trying to hold back his ruthlessness as they seemed innocent enough, but he couldn't help but want to seek a little revenge for all the trouble their brethren caused him back in the day.

Given your past, you're more than confident with your ability to deal with mere Rattata, let alone with the help of your Pokemon. The confidence seems to rub off on Max and Lily as they prepare to handle the situation. Lily gets quick to work, sparks of electricity jumping long the ground as they wrap themselves around the group of rodents. The Thunder Wave works incredibly quickly as the group is locked up by paralysis. The two in the back lock up as they're unable to attack, but the third breaks through the ailment and uses it to its advantage, charging at Lily with a powerful chomp. The Hyper Fang digs deep into the hide of the Pikachu, ellicting a screech of pain. Max is more than ready for this, though, and rears up on his front legs to smash his hind legs into the rat, sending it flying with a Double Kick and landing by its comrades. A second Double Kick takes out one of the remaining Rattata before the remaining rodent breaks through its paralysis and quickly flees towards the center of the tower.

Max gives chase to the remaining Rattata while Lily grabs what's left of the bag of food and follows. Your Pokemon quickly lead you to another group of rodents with a torn bag of food as the Rattata runs past and out of sight. This new group has much longer fur than the rats, and in a zigzag pattern, and approaching close enough to get an actual good look at them it's clear to be four Zigzagoon ripping into the bag. Immediately upon noticing you, two of the rodents immediately kick up a pair of Sand Attacks at Lily and Max, leaving them rubbing the grains from their eyes while a third charges at Max with a Headbutt before backing up near the rest of its group.

This place has a serious pest problem, Orlando thought as they ran into a new pack of rodents, these a little less familiar than the Rattata. But they still looked like Normal types that Orlando's team could easily take.

"Lily, use that new Drain Punch of yours to knock some of them away. Throw out a Shock Wave too, if that's not enough. Let Max take care of the rest with some Double Kicks - maybe a Sucker Punch too if they get sneaky," Orlando ordered. He hoped some crowd control would help curb the problem they were having.

Perfectly prepared to take on this new set of pests, you give orders to Max and Lily to dispatch them. Your Pokemon get quick to work, with Lily socking one of the Zigzagoon with a Drain Punch, knocking it out swiftly, while Max attempts to strike a second with a set of Double Kick, only to kick at the air thanks to the dirt in his eyes. One of the remaining three rushes at Max, but the Nidoran is prepared, readying a paw to interrupt and strike with a Sucker Punch, taking it down. The remaining Zigzagoons strike both Lily and Max with a set of Headbutts, but the strikes don't hurt too much. A swift response from Lily with more electric shocks, spread wide thanks to the usage of the Shock Wave removes the remaining two Zigzagoon from the fight, and the Pikachu is able to grab the second bag of food -- what's left of it, anyway.

Max chases down the food trail left by the Rattata from before, prompting you and Lily to follow, but the rat is nowhere to be found. Instead, by the far wall, are a series of figures in a clear dispute. Three more rodents are here, two with large striped tails, a circle on their stomachs, and long ears, each waving around empty food bags, while the third stands in front of the two, a long, slender rodent with pointed ears and brown stripes. These rodents seem to be arguing with another Pokemon, a thin quadruped draped over the remaining food bag, which seems completely untouched. The Pokemon seems to be protecting the bag, while also attempting to break into it, a yellow front with long neck and pink nose intently staring down its aggressors while a black back end guards the bag, a head on its tail attempting to bite into the bag.

Orlando was a little surprised at his next sight - he recognized the Pokémon he encountered (the non-rodent one, that is). He had seen one of its kind on an outing to the Safari Zone near Lilycove, one of his mother's favorite spots, when he was young. He had always been intrigued by the strange bifurcated nature of the Pokémon. It seemed quite out of place here and seemed to be in some level of trouble - he didn't want to spook it if he could.

"Okay, Lily, let's draw some attention away from that food. Try to Growl to get their attention, then why don't you Play Nice to keep it. Max can then make a move to snatch it back."

An odd sight, given the surroundings, but still decidedly recognizable, the Girafarig stood out like a sore thumb in comparison to the rodents Orlando had run into up until now. Huddled over the remaining food bag it doesn't even seem to have noticed the new presence in the area, up until Lily decides to Growl to catch the attention of all the creatures in the area. The quadruped gives a brief moment's look to see what's going on while the rodents puff out their chests and whip around their empty bags, upset by the intrusion, the larger of the rodents not even bothering to give Lily a glance. Taking the chance to get past the attention of the other Pokemon, Max begins to sneak around behind the Girafarig in preparation to grab the food. Lily keeps the attention on herself for the moment by encouraging the other Pokemon to Play Nice for a bit, causing the rodents to drop their bags and even getting the larger of the three to give a look for a bit, confused by the insistence. The Girafarig looks over, a bit concerned over the commotion before Max darts in, grabbing the remaining food bag from the still clenched jaws of the head attached to the beast's tail and dragging it away from the desperately chomping teeth. The quadruped jumps upright immediately upon realizing what has happened, looking a little dejected as the tail looks about in a panic. The larger rodent smirks as its prey's guard is dropped and leaps forward, smashing its long form into the Girafarig, the Iron Tail glowing silver in the light leaking in from the outside.

Although Orlando et al. managed to grab all the bags of food from the gnashing rodents/Girafarig tails, they weren't quite out of the woods yet - after all, there was a throng of Sentret still keeping themselves plenty occupied with the group's presence and making an effort to torment the Girafarig all the same. Though the hordes were quite a few strong, Orlando knew that his little 'mon could fend them off all the same.

"Okay, guys, let's get rid of these pests! Max, give a few of them a firm Double Kick, and a Sucker Punch if they want to give you more trouble. Lily, fend them off with some Drain Punches!"
