"So you say your instinct was calling you here?" Kawaii smiled down at her dragon-type. Smaug nodded and scampered forward followed closely behind by his mate, a pachirisu named Kyray-chan. They were both recolored back when the ability to recolor pokemon was free. Beside the trainer was her loyal companion Frieghya and an Aron named Arin with a fedora atop his head. None of these pokemon had the slightest chance of being taken by the energy of greed. Though Kyray was there to keep her mate calm just in case. She was the only one who could calm him down in the case of his hot temper 'boiling over'. Her logic was that having the two types most commonly found there might help solve the mystery of the place. There was something about the scenario that reminded her of a show she was only vaguely familiar with. Game of Thrones was confusing and long and she had only seen a few episodes. The whole 'mad king' legend reminded her of one of her favorite characters. Deneris was a very powerful female character who didn't get a love interest until fairly recently. She was the queen of dragon-types and was very powerful and cool on her own. Her family had a history of rulers who went crazy half way through. Kawaii was so lost in thought that she didn't notice that they had arrived at the castle, well castle ruins. Despite its crumbling outside it had held up over the many years it had clearly been around. With deep breath the pink-haired trainer and her companions entered the ruin.

Gemini Spark- With Ginny still wailing at the top of her lungs, slowly chipping away at the Feraligatr, you urge Henrietta and Nissa to continue their assault. The Froakie blows a rather large bubble towards the recently poisoned gator, however as the resisted attack pops against the Water types leathery hide, it does little to slow him. Nissa gets a better results as glowing tendrils stretch from her fingers, wrapping around the Feraligatr's tail and draining away its health. The Treecko is thankfully to have some of the vitality return to her, somewhat making up for her most recent blow. Somewhat enraged by the Froakie's tricks and traps, the Feraligatr lashes out at the young herp. Slashing claws just manage to scrape Henrietta as she bounces backwards in retreat, a close shave to say the least. Despite the glancing blow, the Feraligatr's strength in unquestionable, the hit still causing a good amount of damage to Henrietta.
As the Feraligatr continues to pursue the Froakie, Nissa uses the power of her surroundings, creating a glistening ball of grass energy, gathered from mother nature herself. She hurls it at the Feraligatr, letting it burst across its back in hopes of turning it away from Henrietta. Although the hit would certainly have hurt, the Feraligatr doesn't stray from its path, continually pursuing Henrietta as she tries to hop away. Concern she is about to find herself in the jaws of the croc, Henrietta fires a pulsating orb of water at the Feraligatr's head. The orb explodes as water gushes around the Feraligatr's head. Although the attack fails to do much damage, the sudden flush of water seems to have left the larger Pokemon confused! Still fueled by its rage, the Feraligatr lashes out at the amphibian. Jaws crunch into the soft skin of the Ginny, in its confusion the Feraligatr has nabbed the wrong opponent! Nethertheless, its powerful jaws bite down hard, causing Ginny to cry even louder. It shows no sign of letting go, Ginny would need assistance if she was going to survive this encounter. Biggggg5- Finding yourself ambushed by a trio of bothersome bats, you waste little time bring out your Tynamo to even the odds. Harrison gives you a nod, approving of your choice. Hotstuff happily greets his old friend, it seemed like quite some time had passed since they had seen each other. Geddy didn't waste too much time getting reacquainted with his old friend, instead he let loose a wave of electrical tendrils towards the much larger Golbat. Unfortunately one of the Zubat is quick to defend its leader, swooping in to intercept the attack before it could reach its true destination. The other Zubat is even quicker to put a wrinkle in your plans, letting out a burst of confusing light that leaves the Tynamo struggling with confusion. Hotstuff whips his tail around, slicing the air as he strikes the two Zubat away with an Air Cutter. Harrison's Squirtle adds to the spread, releasing an Icy Wind that leaves both Zubat screeching in pain as they find their movement slowed. Anger, the Golbat replies with an Air Cutter of his own, the spread attack strikes both Hotstuff and the Officer's Squirtle. Geddy once again attempts to paralyze the Golbat. However you quickly notice that his confusion has affected his aim as he turns to face Harrison's Squirtle. Before you can stop him it is too late, the Squirtle is embraced by the electricity and left paralyzed. Not long after, Geddy finds himself clear of mind once more, a little too late to make up for his mistake. Hotstuff releases a Heat Wave, scorching the trio of bats, however they show no signs of retreat. The Officer's Squirtle attempts to assist, however is unable to fight through his paralysis. All three bats return fire with a volley of Air Cutters, only Geddy takes the attacks well while Hotstuff and the Squirtle are forced to endure the sting blows. "I thought you said you were a trainer? Surely you can battle better than this!" Officer Harrison was clearly angry with the way the battle was going, surely not helped by Geddy accidentally paralyzing his Pokemon. |

He wasn't done though and continued chasing after Henrietta...and he was gaining on her! Even as Nissa's Energy Ball summoned by the Power of Nature splashed against him for double damage, he still kept after her, his maw threatening to engulf the Froakie. Henrietta had to rely on a last ditch effort and sling a blue Pulse of energy at him; while the Water-type attack dealt reduced damage to the Feraligatr, it did have the desired effect of Confusing him! It came with a cost, however, as rather than descend on Henrietta his jaws Crunched down onto their Palpitoad friend Ginny! "Froakie!!" she cried in agony as her new friend now found herself as the monster's chew toy, she didn't mean for that to happen! "We have to save Ginny, and fast!" declared Hyrem. "Both of you use Rock Smash to try and make him let go, and if that doesn't work use your combined Strength to try to pry his jaws open!" Nissa and Henrietta looked at each other and nodded before rushing back in, their ally wailing in a further Uproar over the unintended consequences of Henrietta's actions; both of them felt an obligation to save Ginny, but Henrietta had more of a burden, it was up to her to fix it!

Is this a process of transmutation, or one of absorption? And if it’s the latter, is Riolu storing all that crimson substance… inside him? What will it do to him? His concern for the small creature almost caused Rorik to interrupt the process and retrieve Riolu to his side, but then he remembered all the times his work had been forcibly interrupted by other Heimlans who simply could not grasp the value of what he did. If Riolu thought this was the way to go, he had no right to interfere – as much as it scared him to think of the potential consequences. The significance of Riolu’s actions was further confirmed when Decidueye, in a blind rage, attempted to stop the purification, lunging at the Aura Pokemon. And if the possessed creature didn’t want it done, then they should absolutely do it! Fortunately, Zyll and Volg’s timely intervention spared Riolu from a grizzly fate, and clearly both attacks were effective in pushing back the archer. Alas, it seemed there was no avoiding conflict at this point. I didn’t want to hurt you, I really didn’t. But if that’s what it takes to heal you… Retaliation was swift and severe, a vile gust of wind sending Volg flying against a wall and a low kick to Zyll’s legs toppling the blind drake. But it would take more than that to defeat his companions – proof being that both were quick to get up and regroup, despite the pain they felt. And while Zyll maintained his usual composure, the Charmander reacted just as Rorik predicted… “The Baimon…” Suddenly, Volg’s tail flame erupted, but it was no Blaze. It was the uncontrollable fury ignired by the scent of battle and heightened by the pain – Volg was getting excited, overwhelmed by his fighting instinct. Embers gathered in his mouth, and the Charmander lunged at Decidueye, looking to bury his Fire Fangs into him before the archer, who had closed the distance to kick Zyll, could fly away from range. There’s no point in giving him instructions at this point. I have to rely on Zyll… But maybe it wasn’t all bad – if Volg could pin Decidueye in place with his bite, that could provide a valuable opening… “Zyll! Wait for my signal, and let loose a Flamethrower on my mark!” He would wait to see if Volg’s Fire Fang connected, and if it did, it would give Zyll the opportunity to strike at point-blank range; the Charmander wouldn’t mind some rogue embers from the blast, he hoped. And even if Volg missed, maybe Zyll could still catch the bird on retreat… Either way. All that mattered was keeping Decidueye occupied. Rorik didn’t want to injure the bird any more than was strictly necessary; after all, could the archer even be blamed for his violent actions, given his condition?...

Biggggg5- Hoping to make up for Geddy's unfortunate accident, you dig into your bag to retrieve a small red berry. You promptly feed it to the paralyzed Squirtle, who quickly feels his limbs loosen as he is freed from the electric embrace. Officer Harrison gives you a nod as he mumbles something under his breath, although it seems he is at least pleased that you made up for your mistake. You instruct everyone to target the Golbat, having perhaps worked out the bats mindset. Geddy fires a Charge Beam straight for the Golbat, however the unparalyzed Zubat quickly swoops in to intercept. As Geddy glows, having gained a boost to his special attack, Harrison's Squirtle shoots a Water Gun at the Golbat, just as Hotstuff lets loose a flamethrower. The two attacks look certain to hit their mark, but at the last moment, the paralyzed Zubat manages to get itself in the way. The bat screeches, clearly in pain but for now it seems intent on sticking by its master. The Golbat screeches at the top of its lungs, causing all three opposing Pokemon to tremble as their defense is cut in half. The Screech also seems to be a signal to his minions, who quickly descend on Geddy. The bats nearly tear the Tynamo in two as they sink their fangs into his soft flesh, leeching the life from his body and healing their own injuries.
The bats cling to the Tynamo until Geddy lights up with a Thunderbolt, the electricity sends the two flapping backwards in retreat as they lose much of the health they just recovered. Hotstuff releases a Heatwave, which is blocked by the two smaller bats who finds themselves charred and weary. Finally, Harrison's Squirtle releases an Icy Wind, the Super Effective attack is the last the Zubat's block as they crash to the ground, frozen stiff. "Looks like we just have the big one to deal with now", grumbles the Officer, "lets make this quick shall we?" Gemini Spark- With Ginny stuck with the Jaws of the Feraligatr, it is up to Nissa and Henrietta to free her before she met her end. The pair of nimble Pokemon close in quickly, leaping and striking with shattering blows. While the strikes would likely shatter boulders, they seem to have little effect on the Feraligatr, who continues to bite down harder on the Palpitoad. Ginny's cries begin to grow softer, her Uproar was coming to an end and she was getting closer to succumbing to the Feraligatr's jaws. The Feraligatr's defense seems to have dropped a little from the pair of Rock Smash's but whether it would be enough to allow the Treecko and Froakie to overpower it was questionable. Both Pokemon pull with all their strength, trying their best to pry open the gator's mouth. But while it is relatively easy to hold a Feraligatr's mouth closed, it is almost impossible to pry prey from its jaws. Unfortunately, while the pair are busy trying to free Ginny, the Feraligatr's mind clears. Annoyed by the two pesky Pokemon, it reaches up and grabs the two, one in each giant, clawed hand. It takes its frustration out on them, crushing them in its hands as all three Pokemon are now left wailing in pain. The bikers laugh and slapped their knees, finding the sight amusing as the old Feraligatr torments the trespasser's Pokemon. Emily was on her knees, sobbing into her hands, unsure of what she could do to help. Suddenly, all three Pokemon began to glow, however they were all unsure what exactly was going on..... Nissa and Henrietta have gained 2 levels Maskerade- Unsure whether the Riolu was putting itself at risk or not, you let it go about its plan, certain that it was making the right choice. The pool continued to clear, bit by bit. You notice that the aura surrounding the Decidueye's eyes is beginning to fade and flicker at times, perhaps it was indeed tied to the pool? Nethertheless, the archer still seemed intent on putting an end to all of your Pokemon, although it would likely have its hands full with Volg once again being consumed by the Baimon. As his tail flame erupted, he rushed the Decidueye, embers gathering in his maw. Leaping he sunk his fiery fangs into the Decidueye's right arms, causing it to screech in pain as it jumped backwards. Zyll took aim, firing a Flamethrower that struck the slowed Archer in the chest. The Grass type trembles from the blow as it crashes into the water, but it doesn't appear to have done enough to put an end to it. With a whip of its arm the crazed Decidueye frees itself from Volg's grip, sending the Charmander crashing into the water. In the middle of the pool the water is quite deep, easily above the Charmander's head height. The water sizzles as the Charmander flails and tries to keep its tail above the water, the flame is slowly starting to die down. The Decidueye suddenly disappears, like a phantom in the night however you can still sense its eerie presence. It probably wouldn't be long before it attacked again, but hopefully it would be enough time to rescue Volg before he drowned or his tail flame was extinguished. |

As the grip on them tightened, Henrietta seemed to scream from the pain more than Nissa did. "Ack! Je suis désolé, Nissa, I cannot keep going..." she moaned to her Treecko friend. "No, keep fighting, Hen!" Nissa struggled to say when she felt the claws squeezing and digging into her own body. "Non..." Henrietta let out a gasp as she was squeezed again. "If I had not made our foe Confused, he would not have attacked my friend by mistake, and we would not be here...and now Ginny is going to be eaten...and then we're next! And it's all my fault!!" "Nngh, stop thinking like that! We can still win, we just need to...just need to..." Nissa's eyes soon glazed over in a trance before her body started to glow. Henrietta watched this happen and soon fell into her own trance as her own body lit up as well. Soon, Hyrem watched as all three Pokemon in the Feraligatr's clutches started glowing, and everyone else looked on dumbfounded. Soon their bodies began to undergo changes, most of it related to growing in size, and Hyrem soon figured out what was happening. "Heh, I thought as much," he said, readying his Pokedex for what was to come as soon as the changes were done. It would be Nissa to complete her evolution first, and she had grown almost a foot and a half in size, her tail having been reduced to two leaves, but also gaining three leaves on each of her arms and one long leaf sticking out of her head. In addition, her body had become sleeker to accommodate her new height, and her snout had developed more prominently. As far as what she was, the Pokedex registered her as this: Grovyle, the Wood Gecko Pokemon, and the evolved form of Treecko. Its build is well suited for climbing and jumping around the trees in a jungle, and the leaves on its body help it to hide in lush vegetation to avoid detection by predators or prey. Grovyle's superior maneuverability in forests and jungles means that it can chase down anything it considers prey with no chance of them escaping. As Hyrem looked further, he saw that Nissa learned a new attack upon evolving, one he was excited to have her use in the next few moments, but as he looked up he saw that Henrietta had also finished evolving and had become a taller, more slender amphibian with longer arms and legs, her eyes had moved to the sides of her more developed, darker blue head, and the froth around her neck had developed into a small scarf of sorts. The Pokedex soon lit up again, registering Henrietta's new form: Frogadier, the Bubble Frog Pokemon, and the evolved form of Froakie. With its body further developed for speed, as well as webbed feet that allow it to climb even smooth surfaces, Frogadier can swiftly climb up skyscrapers with ease. Its accuracy is also pinpoint, throwing small objects at its target from reasonable distances, allowing it to knock flying insects and birds out of the sky before snatching the stunned prey with its long tongue while it is still falling. "Oh nice," said Hyrem before looking at the other trainer. "Emily, this battle's not over yet, and I think our Pokemon just got the boost they needed to turn this around! Henrietta, use Echoed Voice twice and see how much damage you can do with your second attack! Nissa, time to put your new move to good use; two Fury Cutter attacks ought to do the trick!" As they all waited for Ginny to finish glowing, Hyrem hoped that, between his Pokemon's attacks doing more damage when used multiple times, as well as the poison still working on Jesse's health, they may be able to bring the Feraligatr down soon...and hopefully it would be soon enough! ********** Level Up! Treecko grew from Lv. 15 to Lv. 17! New Move! Treecko learned Pursuit! Evolution!! Treecko evolved into Grovyle! New Move! Grovyle learned Fury Cutter! Level Up! Froakie grew from Lv. 15 to Lv. 17! Evolution!! Froakie evolved into Frogadier!

Unfortunately the front of the door proved to be unhelpful. As Bill tried to open the door, the knob fell out into his hand. He lifted it up to his eyes and said, "Yup, that sounds about right." This place was old and pretty much condemned, something like this was bound to happen. He pushed against the door with his body, nothing. So the knob was busted, but not the latch or the strike. He turned to his partner who was more gleaming, likely because they couldn't get in. "hey, don't give me that look. You know I'm more stubborn than that," Bill laughed at his partner's gleeful appearance. The squirtle responded with a cheeky tongue doing the "na na na" sound effect. "Come on, you jokester, let's check around back. Maybe there's another door." The two started walking the perimeter. Behind the house was a garden of some sort, apparently it had been kept at one point, considering the prescence of a shed. Though, it too had been long since abandoned. Still though, maybe he could find something to help him pry the door open with. Though as he approached, he noticed a small nest with three baby Murkrows sitting in it, ready to be fed. "Hey Silver look" but the Squirtle had already noticed, and he pointed out something else in the tree, some sort of feline Pokemon, ready to be fed. Before it could attack, and Bill react, the mother, a honchkrow managed to chase it away. But that wasn't enough, true to dark type fashion, it started to beat on the kitten. Bill sighed, the cat was trying to attack its young, but that didn't mean it deserved this bad a beating. Still though, getting involved with a high level Pokemon meant that he needed to be prepared. He looked at Silver and said, "You ready?" The water Pokemon had the look of determination on his face, already in a battle stance. "Okay, let's start off nice and simple. Use your Water Gun on the Honchkrow, then Bubble to slow it down, okay?" "Squirt". Silver took a deep breath ready to fight against the Honchkrow. |

“N… No! Volg!!” Conflicted, shocked and terrified, the Professor froze. He knew he had to do something about the drowning Charmander, but at the same time, Decidueye had vanished like a phantom and was bound to strike soon; when, or from where, Rorik had no idea, which meant both Zyll and Riolu were vulnerable. And to make matters worse, the former was blind, and the latter was busy... Riolu is the key to solving this problem. Whatever the cost, we have to keep him safe! I have to be pragmatic here… and trust my companions!” This was a place of darkness, one that Zyll was best equipped to adapt to out of all of them. It pained him to do so, but they needed a shield, and his Deino was the best one available. He’d have to be the one keeping Riolu safe! “Zyll, stay sharp! Decidueye can come from anywhere, but darkness is your element,” encouraged the Heimlan. “ Stay close to Riolu so he won’t be hit, Focus your Energy and blast that owl with another Dark Pulse as soon as you catch its scent!” The rest… is up to me. He felt thankful for losing his lab coat earlier; the less he had on him to weigh him down now, the better… Rorik approached the edge of the lake, took a deep breath and – possessed by some kind of foolish Heimlan bravery – jumped into the pond to rescue Volg himself! Hang in there just a little longer! I’ll bring you back to safety, I swear to Arceus! He would sort out the “how” when he reached the drake, but Volg wasn’t terribly heavy, so hopefully keeping him afloat and the flame out of the water wouldn’t be an impossible task. Even for someone as physically frail as the Professor…

Gemini Spark- Hope suddenly returns as both Henrietta and Nissa undergo a drastic change, evolving in unison and freeing themselves from the grasp of the Feraligatr. As the pair marvel at their new forms and the power that comes with them, Ginny also begins to change. The Palpitoad’s metamorphosis finally reaches completion as she grows much large. Arms sprout, and her tail disappears as she reaches her final form, Ginny was now a full evolved Seismitoad! Finally able to get free of the Feraligatr, Ginny spits some acid down the Feraligatr’s gullet, a parting gift for the Pokemon who had almost claimed her life. “Ginny, you finally evolved!” Emily cries out, overjoyed by the shift in momentum.
With the tables turning, it was now or never if you were going to finish off the Feraligatr. Henrietta puts her developing vocal cords to good use, letting out an echoing croak. The gator stumbles as the sound waves strike him, leaving him exposed as Nissa comes in to strike. Putting her new body to the test, she strikes across the Feraligatr’s stomach with a Fury Cutter. The Feraligatr groans as it is continually pushed back, unable to regain the front foot. Ginny flails at the opposing Water type with her newly developed arms, striking him with a blow made stronger by the severe damage the Feraligatr had caused her. Henrietta gives a repeat performance, her attack becoming twice as stronger and causing the Feraligatr even more pain. A second Fury Cutter from Nissa is also much stronger, causing the Feraligatr to slump over. It was clearly at its end, but somehow it was managing to hold on. Suddenly the Feraligatr looks sick, as the poison once again grips its system it falls, face first into the ground. The bikers gasp in shock, they hadn’t expected you and Emily to overcome the ancient Feraligatr. “Alright, we had a deal, we beat the Feraligatr and now you need to tell us what you know.” Emily was quick to make demands, perhaps too quick. The bikers were true to their word however, with the gang leader quickly stepping forward, hands still clapping. “Well done, that was impressive. I’ll tell you what you want to know, just make sure they don’t find out that we told you. We were approached by a business man, he offered us a large some of cash to sabotage your ranch. Can’t say I remember his name but he left a business card with us in case we needed to contact him.” The biker hands Emily the business card, before him and his men make their way back inside. “Please make your way off our property.” Emily inspects the business card before showing it to you. “Thank you so much for your help, there was no way we could have beaten that Feraligatr by ourselves.” Reading the card, it seems it belongs to a Trent Connors, an entrepreneur based out of the city. His phone number and business address were also on the card. “So, what do you suggest we do now?” Maskerade- With Volg flailing in the water and the Decidueye having momentarily disappeared, you leap into the slowly clearing pool. Zyll moves into position, intent on protecting the Riolu as it continues to purify the tainted water. The Deino focuses his energy, enhancing his senses. With the boost in hand, he starts to sense movement around him, the Decidueye was still here. As you strike through the waist deep water towards Volg, you notice that the water is all but cleared, only a small portion of the tainted water remains, surrounding the struggling Charmander. As the Riolu works to complete its task, the Decidueye suddenly reappears, striking Zyll out of the way with a powerful blow. Zyll scrambles back to his feet, as the Decidueye looms over the defenceless Riolu, ready to finish it off before it can remove the entirety of the foul energy polluting the water. Suddenly a pulse of Dark energy slams into the Decidueye’s exposed flank, landing a critical blow that causes it to let out an ear-piercing screech as it slumps to the ground. The aura possessing it fades as it passes out, unconscious on the hard stone floor. You grab a hold of Volg as the Decidueye faints, but you notice the remaining aura rush into the Charmander’s body. The effects are immediate as Volg’s eyes erupt in the aura, his tail flame turning a dark crimson. He bites down on your arm, causing you to reel backwards in pain. The Charmander springs off of you, landing by the side of the pool and growling at Zyll. The Riolu, having finished purifying the pool, opens his eyes to see what has occurred in his absence. He is surprised to see the Decidueye lying unconscious, just inches away from him while the Charmander who had been defending him now seemed to be turning against them. As you watch Volg make his way towards his friends, blood drips from your arm into the water. As the blood hits the water, a faint glow in the shape of a Y appears on the bottom of the pool before fading. The last of the tainted aura was now residing inside Volg, with its strength compared with the rage of the Baimon, he would likely be hard to control…. |

"I see now", smirked Jayson, he had been waiting a while for this very moment. The last time he saw her feathers glow like this was in Bedlam, Atalanta was starting to evolve. As she descends towards the ground, her entire body is enveloped by the bright glowing light. As her claws hit the cobblestone floor, her body begins to stretch and change. She grew much taller, her wings lengthened considerably and a hood developed, covering her head. As the light finally fades, Jayson pulls out his Pokedex to scan his newly evolved Decidueye. "You look amazing Atalanta!" Jayson shouted as his starter assessed her new body. The evolution had brought with it a new typing, with Atalanta shedding her Flying typing in exchange for the Ghost type. That gave her a direct advantage and disadvantage in this fight, but thankfully the evolution had given her a few new toys. Atalanta evolved into a Decidueye! "Right Atalanta, how about we show this Honedge your real power? Disappear into the shadows then strike with Phantom Force! Then Sucker Punch it as it comes into attack before locking it down with your signature move, SPIRIT SHACKLE!" Jayson couldn't believe how strong Atalanta looked now, with her by his side he knew they could handle any threat. "Atalanta will make quick work of this Honedge now Sylvi", Jayson reassured the young woman as he collected a Pokeball from his bag. Should the Honedge appear weakened enough, he would attempt to catch it. |

The team's happiness was short-lived. Zyll had managed to stop Decidueye, violently as he had to do so... but they had failed to prevent the darkness from infecting another. This time, one of them. "Volg!!" Fangs pierced Rorik's arm, drawing blood before the Professor could move away. The Charmander was now engulfed in the same shadowy aura as Decidueye once had been, and it sent him into a rage comparable to that of his lingering affliction. Volg had lost sight of reason, all those that moved becoming targets for his dark fury. But suddenly, there was light. What is that?... Something shone brightly at the bottom of the lake. Had that light always been there, concealed under the darkness that Riolu had cleansed, or was it... reacting to Rorik's blood? Could he afford to look into it? Should he divert his attention from Volg? Maybe if that glow could somehow purge the evil from within the Charmander, but... Only I can reach it. But that would mean leaving Zyll and Riolu alone with a possessed Volg, and... There had to be a way to solve this. Riolu was the key, Rorik was certain - he had cleansed the lake and Decidueye, surely he could do the same to Volg! But would they have to fight? Would they have to hurt their firend in the process?... Maybe not... "VOLG!" he shouted from within the lake. "Now's the time to see if you really are the strongest! Zyll has just defeated a fully-evolved Decidueye! Can you really beat that? You've always had that doubt inside you, haven't you? If you really are as good as him?" The Deino stepped back instinctively, failing to see what Rorik was trying to accomplish. He didn't want to fight anyone, let alone a teammate. Unless... "Now's your chance, right? A one-on-one fight with Zyll!" Riolu... Riolu, can you hear me? he tried to communicate with the Fighting-Type. The Pokemon could read auras... would he be able to hear him? Riolu, you have to help Zyll! Can you show him what Volg will attempt to do with your Foresight? I need Volg to be distracted for long enough so you can purify him! Zyll looked uncomfortable, but something told him Rorik knew what he was doing. They needed Riolu, but Volg would destroy the little thing the minute he got up close. Did Rorik want him... to keep Volg distracted? Hoping that was the case, the Deino opened his maw to let out a powerful Roar, which hopefully would make Volg at least hesitate to strike. But if it came down to it, he might have to push it back with a Headbutt or two until Riolu could find an opening... It's all I got. If Riolu fails to help Volg, then I don't know what to do! Unless that light source at the bottom of the lake has some miraculous properties... I have to try! Fighting through the pain in his arm, Rorik took the deepest breath he could, and dove down to meet the origin of the strange light at the bottom of the pool...

Biggggg5- With only the Golbat remaining, Geddy, Hotstuff and the Squirtle center their attention on the big mouthed bat. Uno, Dos, Tres, a Flamethrower, a Thunderbolt and an Ice Beam are launched at the poisonous pest, the collection of energies crackle against each other as they form into one mighty beam. The Golbat is simply overwhelmed, shocked and unsure of what to do it is forced to take the hit, one it wouldn't be shrugging off. The resulting explosion shakes the tunnel and fills it with dust and smoke, concealing the bat from view.
Officer Harrison coughs as he tries not to inhale too much of the smoke, he seems thankful when it finally disperses. You look around for signs of the Golbat and Zubat but they are gone, nowhere to be seen. "Well thank Arceus they're gone, surprised you didn't disappear in the smoke either. Perhaps you are innocent, but we will know for sure soon enough." Geddy gained 3 levels! Hotstuff gained 3 levels! Officer Harrison leads you through the remainder of the tunnel, eventually coming to a small hole in a wall. It is only just big enough for you to get through, following the Officer you worm your way through to find yourself standing in a bank vault. The vault was open, but the bank was closed for business, it was a crime scene after all. A number of other police officers were inspecting the bank, but it was only Officer Harrison and yourself within the vault. Looking around you notice several lockboxes had been torn open, large scratch marks having torn through the metal. "If your Charmander would kindly hold his claws up against one of the marks, we can have this resolved nice and quickly." Hotstuff sighs, he was innocent but he would comply if it meant the Officer would stop accusing them and leave them alone. Holding his clawed hand up again one of the torn lockboxes, it is quite obvious that his claws are drastically smaller. "Arceus damn it", moans the officer as he kicks at the ground, "I guess you're innocent then. If I don't find those gems the boss will have my badge, or worse, he will stick me with a desk job." While Hotstuff had been proving his innocence, Geddy had been busy inspecting the hole in the vault wall. The hole was made from the outside, there were claw marks all around the outside and rubble was piled up neatly. Looking at the top of the tunnel, Geddy notices something import and quickly buzzes to get your attention. Sticking your head back through the hole, you look up to see what Geddy had found, there were claw marks all over the tunnel ceiling, leading back down the path! Maskerade- With Volg succumbing to the dark aura, you place hope in the Riolu. The young fighting type had managed to purify the water, surely he could do something similar for Volg? You try to reach out to the Riolu, hoping it would be able to sense your intentions. The Riolu seems to understand what you want, but whether it will be able to fulfill your requests is unsure. You ignite Volg's fury further, talking about Zyll in order to get the Charmander to focus his energy of the Deino. The tactic is successful, perhaps too much so as Volg attacks with relentless force. He rushes the Zyll, the Deino attempts to roar and put a bit of reluctance into the Charmander, but the Fire types mind is not his own. Coated in Dragon energy, he slams into Zyll, sending the blind dragon crashing into the wall of the tunnel. The Riolu seems reluctant to approach Volg in his current state, seemingly lacking the confidence to carry out such an action. Zyll groans as he rises to his feet, Volg wasn't himself but he was still as strong, perhaps even stronger. Bellowing, the Deino rushes forward and headbutts the Charmander, slamming head first into his stomach. Volg skids backwards, remaining on his feet as he flinches. Zyll rams the Charmander with another headbutt, but Volg almost seems to grin. Suddenly his tail erupts as his Blaze is activated, the towering, black stained flame symbolized a drastic increase in his power. At close range Volg smashes Zyll with a Fire Blast. Despite resisting the attack, the sheer power Volg is packing at the moment means the Deino is devastated by the blow. Burns cover the Deino's chest, Zyll appears to just be clinging on. A sinister smile rests on Volg's face as he prepares to finish off Zyll, who can do nothing to defend himself at this point. Suddenly the Riolu leaps at Volg, spurred on by Zyll's fighting spirit. It slams its palm into the possessed Charmander's side, hitting a pressure point that causes his body to stiffen with paralysis. Zyll was all but beaten, Volg was weakening but possessed incredible strength and the Riolu had shown some signs of strength. Hoping that mark on the bottom of the pool could provide some assistance, you submerge yourself, reaching out to touch the mark. As your fingers reach the glowing symbol, your body is struck with unimaginable pain. You quickly pull your hand back, but not before your mind is flushed with thoughts of pain and suffering. You feel unmeasurable anger and hatred like nothing you had ever experienced before. Gasping for air you retreat to the side of the pool, it appears the mark might actually be the source of the darkness..... |

"Mae!" Athena said, delighted. "What a cute name." She watched the girl look down at her ruined dress. She wished she had any kind of sewing skills, but the dress looked tattered beyond simple repair. Mae stopped at a grave and greeted the soul who rested there with childish glee. Athena couldn't help but follow suit. It helped the graveyard seem less spooky. By now, she was feeling a lot more comfortable. She and Eclair had battled and caught a Ghost pokemon, saving the little girl from his clutches. Once they dropped Mae off, getting back home would likely be a breeze. Palmier was even looking less grumpy, and more interested in following Athena and Mae through the graveyard. She saw him wave to a couple gravestones. Mae's hand tightened around Athena's just as she finished greeting the headstone of someone who had died almost a hundred years ago by now. She looked up to see a house perched on a hill. It looked quaint, but Athena was worried that Mae's demeanor had changed. Depsite her worries about what her mother might say, Mae pulled Athena up the hill to her house. The girl knocked on the large wooden door, and soon the figure they had seen in the window approached the door. Quickly, Athena pulled out Palmier's Pokeball and recalled him. They didn't have to mention the whole being attacked by a Pokemon thing. She didn't want to cause any conflict with Mae being able to go out again and read to her grandfather. She took a deep breath before the door opened and put on her best smile. "Good evening, madam," She started. Her voice went a bit higher to indicate friendly politeness. "My name is Athena. I ran into Mae and I wanted to make sure she got home alright." |

Yet, his stroll into the trophy room soon ended, but not with what he was expecting. Instead of a dead end, a small hole sat in the decayed walls. It looked small enough for him to just barely crawl through. Yet, whatever was watching him. Perceiving him.... It was in there. So he would follow it. He judged by the size of the hole that Wisp could fit, but he wouldn't be able to see much besides the candle's waxy figure. So, instead, he asked Wisp to follow behind him. To illuminate his trainer's way through the small crevice. The teen got on his knee and started to crawl through the hole. Soon he saw a dim purple light illuminating a few inches in front of him, but not much else. This could get him killed... Well, it wouldn't have been the first time. But there was no need to think back on that crazy Hex Maniac now. Forwards was the only option, and deeper down the rabbit hole he went.

Biggggg5- Upon taking in all the evidence, including the evidence found by 'detective' Geddy, you surmise that the criminal in question is in fact a Sableye. Harrison ponders this for a moment, but even he couldn't deny that it made sense.
"I think you could be right, but I don't think you should get ahead of yourself. If it is in fact a wild Pokemon, then having you battle and capture it would help prevent a repeat of what happened here. However, we don't know whether it is wild or if it was following orders from a trainer. We also need to try and recover the gems. So if you're willing to help me track it down, your help would be appreciated and rewarded." You weren't about to deny his offer, already having expressed your interest in pursuing the gem thief. You give the officer a nod, he would have your aid. "Excellent, we better get going if we are going to have any hope of tracking it down." The pair of you and your Pokemon climb back out of the vault and head down the tunnel once more, with Geddy keeping a close eye on the clawed ceiling. You're charging down the tunnel when all of a sudden Geddy comes to a stop, causing you all to put the breaks on. The Tynamo stares at the wall of the tunnel, the claw marks seemed to disappear! The last few seem to turn towards one of the walls, but then they simply stop. Suspecting something, Geddy charges at the wall. You go to stop him before he hurts himself, but the little eel passes straight through! He comes back out unharmed, it appears to be some sort of magical veil. "Well would you look at that", grinned Harrison, "I don't think I've seen anything quite like that before. Squirtle, have a quick look inside and make sure the path is clear." The Squirtle nods before jogging through the fake wall. All is quiet for a moment, but then you hear a cry, followed by Harrison's Squirtle as it is sent flying back through into the main tunnel. A rock follows it, striking it in the chest, then a moment later another one strikes it. The Squirtle scrambles back to its feet, shouting and pointing through the wall. "It seems something is guarding the other side, how should we go about this?" |

She felt some strange sensation, opening her mind as clarity and curiosity amplified, the woman's other eyebrow raising, there was so much to see, so much to discover. It felt she could hear every conversation in the room, understand every crevice in the walls, the contours of the other patrons, it was all overwhelming. Taking a breath of air, she put her hand to head, taken by the kick to her system as Doug laughs, and then responds to her other question, information slamming into her with the force of a tidal wave. "I...see..." she stuttered as the world began to spin around her, Bel fortunately on hand to try and stabilise his companion, only for Jake to arrive and help with the support, while crafting a swift alibi and helping her out of the bar as Doug can barely spit out a farewell. As she left the building, the hold of the liquor over her faded as fast as it hit her, while the private eye gives a small snicker at the predicament, before giving her what information he had. Bel looked at her, betraying a slight concern. "Well...damn. That kicked like a Hitmonlee..." she sighed, the Mawile frowning and looking at her accusingly. "I will be fine, Bel...besides, it appears our common informer may have gave us more than enough information." Turning her head to Jake, she removed his hand from her shoulder, before giving herself a small shake to ensure she was able to stand. "The man was a former security guard here, and holds little alliance with this establishment. He let slip enough information, thanks to that...substance. From what I understand, there is an operation under the bar that produces the drink, and an entrance within the catacombs beneath the city. What is of greater concern is the reason behind the addiction. "The brewers appear to be seizing psychic type pokemon and using some sort of influence or extract to give the drink its kick, so to speak. I sampled the brew at their behest, and the sensation seemed to fit in with your description, with enhanced sensory functionality. I would wager that the pokemon beneath here are under some form of torture, and should be liberated with caution. How should we proceed, inspector?" Her Mawile stood by, slightly rankled that he would not be drinking tonight, but still faithful with whatever plan she possessed. |

Big nods in appreciation. "Right right, sorry, I do get ahead of myself sometimes." Big says with a slight chuckle. "Although if i was a trainer owned pokemon, wouldn't they have told it to take more than just the gems?" He shrugs. "Either way I'm more than happy to come help." He nods and they follow Geddy back into the cave system. They continue on until the claw marks come to an abrupt halt at what seems to be a dead end wall. "Huh, weird." Big says before Geddy slips into what seems to be an illusory wall. "Even weirder eh." Geddy says as Harrison sends the squirtle in to check it out. The water pokemon is soon blasted back by a couple of rocks. "Woah!" Big steps to the side to avoid getting hit as well. When the officer asks what to do Big rubs his chin. "Not much to do but head in there. Maybe if ou have squirtle use something like Withdraw and he can head in first, with my pokemon and us following to back 'im up." Big suggests. "Plus if it us a rock pokemon that threw those rocks," He points to where they lay on the ground after hitting squirtle. "You guys will have the best shot at it." He explains. Hotstuff looks up at Geddy as they examine the wall. "What do you think the deal with that is?" He asks poking at the wall. "I dunno eh, I think either magic or a psychic pokemon." "Hey! Be ready guys!" Big calls to the two pokemon, and they jump to readiness. |

Raves- As you regain your normal composure, you rattle off what you had learned during your encounter at the bar. Jake absorbs its all, tying in all the information you gathered in order to try and plan the next step. You are left in silence for a minute as he considers the options.
"I guess we might as well stay on the case while it's hot. If they are abusing and torturing Pokemon then we need to put a stop to it immediately. There is an entrance to the catacombs that we keep sectioned off around the corner, they can be useful when you need them, as long as you don't get lost!" Jake gives you a reassuring nod, "you did well, much better intel than what I got, just try not to sample anymore contraband? Alright let's head down into the catacombs and see if we can find a way into their operation. Jake leads you to what appears to be an unmanned donut stand. He leads you inside, only to open a trapdoor that leads down into the catacombs. He kicks a rope down through the trapdoor and slides down, waiting patiently Bel and yourself to follow. Once the pair of you make it down, he heads off through the narrow tunnels, pulling out a heavy ended flashlight to light the way. You weave your way back through the passages, hoping your heading in the right direction. Just when you get the feeling that you're going around in circles, you all come to a stop as you hear voices nearby. Jake turns off the flashlight and you both peak around the next bend in the tunnel. A pair of armed guards are standing in front of an old wooden door. The pair seem pretty chummy and are too busy bantering to notice much else. Nethertheless, there was no way of getting through the door with those two there. "We need to clear them off if we have any chance of getting inside. I know the tunnels well enough that I could probably lead them off and lose them before doubling back, that is if you think you could handle whatever is on the other side of that door? Although if you have a better plan, I'm open to suggestions." Biggggg5- With an unknown assailant on the other side of the magical barrier, you suggest caution if you were going to make your way through. Harrison agrees, turning to his Squirtle and helping it back to its feet. "Sorry about that old chum, seems you walked straight into trouble. Our friend has the right idea though, how about you Withdraw into your shell and Gyro Ball straight back into it? I figure if it used a Rock type move, it is most likely a Rock Type right?" The Squirtle nods, confirming the Pokemon it encountered was indeed a Rock type. "Excellent", let's get in there then. Harrison's Squirtle withdraws completely into its shell, it would be safer in there and stand a better chance against whatever was waiting for you on the other side of the wall. The shell soon begins to spin, quickly picking up speed as it becomes coated in steel energy and shoots through the mysterious wall. Harrison charges through after it, quickly followed by yourself, Hotstuff and Geddy. You get a tingling feeling as you pass through the magical wall, arriving just in time to see Harrison's Squirtle connect with the Pokemon that had attacked it. You're shocked to see a Gigalith at the far end of the tunnel, an old wooden door seems to be positioned directly behind it. As the Squirtle slams into the compressed Pokemon, you notice that something is drastically wrong with it. The normally vibrant red crystals that sprout from a Gigalith's body are broken and crushed. Instead of red, the crystals seems to be an eerie mixture of black and purple. The Rock type roars as it notices the intruders, its seems remarkably angry. |

Biggggg5- With the enemy identified, you reluctantly decide that it has to be dealt so that you can continue searching for the Sableye. "Nice strategy", notes Harrison, "we'll help keep it distracted. Squirtle catch its attention with a Bubblebeam then try a Water Pulse." The Squirtle takes a deep breath before exhaling a barrage of glistening bubbles that stream out in front of it as it charges towards the Rock type. Geddy joins in, firing a Charge Beam at the Gigalith, gaining a boost in the process. The two attacks collide on the Gigalith at the same time, causing it to roar in both pain and anger. Hotstuff takes the opportunity to start skirting the edge of the tunnel, hoping to stay out of the line of fire as he gathers a large mass of energy around his right claw. The Gigalith doesn't take long to retaliate, sending a barrage of boulders sliding through the tunnel. Thankfully Hotstuff isn't in the direct path of the boulders, however the same can't be said for Geddy and Harrison's Squirtle. The pair are smashed by the hard stones, crying out in pain as they are sent tumbling backwards. While the Gigalith recovers, Hotstuff strikes, having gotten in close just in time. He swings a powerful punch into one of the Gigalith's legs, all of the energy he focused into the attack results in a devastating blow.
Back on the offensive, the Squirtle hurls a Water Pulse at the Gigalith, but not in time to stop it from retaliating against Hotstuff. The dark crystal in front of Hotstuff glows before promptly erupting, the powerful blow from the gem sends him skidding back down the tunnel. The Squirtle's Water Pulse bursts over the Gigalith, the Super Effective blow pains the Rock type but unfortunately doesn't confuse it. Geddy follows with an even stronger Super Effective hit, landing a boosted Flash Cannon that leaves the compressed Pokemon moaning in pain. For this the Gigalith targets him individually, sending a sharped stone whistling towards him. The stone seems to be on a strange flight path, arcing up off the ground. Before you realize the Gigalith's intention it is too late, the stone strikes from above, smacking Geddy into the ground. The Tynamo tries to rise of the ground, but seems to be struggling to do so as he is left slivering along the ground. Hotstuff jumps in to defend his flailing friend, releasing a Hidden Power as orbs of Water energy pepper the Gigalith. It seems to be weakening, but a fully evolved Rock type like Gigalith was going to have plenty of fight in it. |
