So why is there still Nidoran(m) & Nidoran(f) ?
In generation two all PKMN got genders and now from what I've read about generation four, female & male PKMN actually look visibly different from one another! So how come they didn't go and merge them into one POKéMON? Lots of 'em have alternate evolutions so why not a gender based evolution? If your Nidoran is a girl it will become a Nidorina and if its a boy a Nidorino! Its simple oversights like this and other mistakes of the past that keep me outta the game!

Since RBY, their movesets have differed pretty wildly when it comes to two Pokemon like that, so it makes no sense to merge them together.
Anyways, GameFreaks seems to want to preserve the status quo when it comes to previous generations and their evolution mechanics and what not. |

Nidoran M and Nidoran F are as different as Volbeat and Illumise. It's just by then people were creative enough to come up with better names than Fyrefli M and Fyrefli F.

Ohhhh there's so many things that could and should be changed but never will! I don't want a total series reboot just some simple common sense tweaks! |

Re: So why is there still Nidoran(m) & Nidoran(f) ?
To some level, I do agree that the Pokedex could use some rearranging. Possibly a New National Dex if they ever decide that they have finished with all the generations? I'd like to see it arranged with starters in order by generation and the classic Grass-Fire-Water, then in groupings based on similar biology/route placement (i.e. Ratatta line, Furret Line, Ziggy Line, Bidoof line, Pidgey Line, Hoothoot line, Taillow Line, Starly Line, etc.)
At this point, I don't think Gamefreaks is really prepared to lower the number of Pokemon. I really don't see any point in it and it doesn't make a whole lot of difference in the long-run. |
