From what I read on the Pendulum Monsters they look like they have Spell Card effects (like the Artifacts) along with Monster Card effects. If this is true, it definitely explains why Pendulum Summoning favours "high level monsters"...cards with low levels have high numbers on the Pendulum Scale, while those with high levels are the opposite. That makes it more difficult to summon Synchro Monsters, but pretty ideal for summoning XYZs.

This is pretty horrifying but YGOPro/DevPro is notorious for allowing mechanics that are only speculative, so who knows how this will work in the actual show.

I actually have YGOPro and nothing on Pendulum Summons yet, so that might just be testing.

But now that i've figured it out...this looks broke as hell.

There are Pendulum monsters.

You need 2, one on each side. From these two monsters, a Pendulum scale is made. Somehow, from that scale, a number is found, and you can summon however much monsters, as long as their levels add up to be less than or equal to that number.

How I understand it.

Alright, let me try:

You have two Pendulum Monsters. Each one has a Pendulum Scale which tells you its pendulum value when it is placed either in the left, or right Pendulum zone. Once you have two monsters in the Pendulum Zone, you can Pendulum summon any number of monsters from your hand and Extra Deck(?) who level is in between the levels of the left hand monster, and the right hand monster's pendulum scale.

So, if A is in the left zone, and its value is 4.
And if B is in the right zone, and its value is 6.

Then you can, once per turn, special summon any number of monsters from level 4 to 6.

I think that's how it goes.

That does seem very broken but I would have to see how the pendulums get on the field. Like as a magic card or treated as a summon etc.

It looks like the Pendulum Zones are the same as the Field Spell zones, which might explain why there's two field spells.

Also, I think I've confirmed that the Monster Card zone will expand by 2 as well, so effectively there will be 7 Monster and Spell/Trap zones, but two of the Spell/Trap zones are exclusively for Fields/Pendulums.

So, BIG Duels anyone, before I go and have my bracers removed? While I can still play YGO, before and that awful, awful Pendulum Summon mechanic can be implemented.

Also, I remember I read somewhere that Pendulum Summon was a once-of thing, which would, honestly, make it a LOT more interesting that a once-per-turn bullshit swarm we are scheduled to receive. Also, if Decks were addicted to speed now, imagine when this hits the game... 3 Reckless and Upstart WILL moat likely be more of a normal thing, rather than for the Deck that desperately needs draw power, given the explosive nature of this mechanic.

It's on the same V-Jump scan the earlier info was on. Although a new image just came out which contradicts that, but also says that Pendulum Monsters go to the Extra Deck when destroyed in their Pendulum Zone, rather than go to the Graveyard.

So I took advantage of few days off I got thanks to the Carnivals, and made my way to the local hobby shop and took a look at the Structure Decks available. I was able to put together a Cyber Dragon Deck with a couple of Structures, plus a lot of techs I managed to find among the singles folder at the store, and other players hanging around. I even managed to score a Chimeratech Fortress Dragon for $8.00, which was a huge stroke of luck, compared to the values they often fetch, which can be anywhere from $15.00 to $20.00USD, as well as a couple of Machina Fortress of the Starfoil rarity for $2.00 each.

I must say, I'm rather happy with how inexpensive making a relatively competitive Deck turned out to be. I might as well try building something a bit more dedicated, such as Mermail, but I'll probably have to cut on Abyssteus and Abysslinde, both of which can fetch some hefty sums. Anyone else still into IRL YGO?

If I'm reading this right, Durandal turns Hanewata into MST's. That's pretty cool!

If you are negating your own effect, the card text applies to your opponent as normal, so whatever effect you use turns into an MST (i.e., Hanewata, Level Eater). When you negate the opponent's effect, their card becomes then MST.

That contradicts the ruling however. If what you were saying as the case, the effect could be activated if it was your own card effect...but it can't if you have no S/T cards. The ruling makes no distinction between opponents. And, as well, a similar effect happens with Fabled Dianaira(the difference there is that it specifies in every scenario who the opponent is.) I'll try testing it on YGOPro however.

EDIT: Dopple start reading it says monster effect on the field.

The ruling is obviously wrong, and should be corrected in future by future updates. The card itself allows for Durandal to chain to any effect, it makes no sense for you to be unable to chain it to your own effect because you have no S/T. That's non-sense.
