TheKnightsFury: Just a glint of crimson peering through the fog is enough to send your stomach into knots. You had looked oblivion dead in the eye and knew you would never truly be ready to face it again, but that wouldn’t hold you back now. It was time to rally up your forces and join the natives in the war that was waging ahead. You toss the ash flute to Ammorith, tasking him with recruiting the faewood dwellers that would sooner flee than fight – the Hunter hopes to do one better as he prizes a satellite radio from his backpack, propping it in the branches and jerking its antennae until a faint crackle is heard. “I’ll send a call out to the Guild,” his brow furrows in deep concentration as he tunes away the static, “I doubt the destruction has escaped them, but we can at least give them a heads up about what we’re up against. I’ll rally up what Pokemon I can once I’ve made contact, then meet you on the ground – good luck, Xander.” You share a firm handshake before going about on your separate missions, your party making a steady descent to the forest floor with Tapu Bulu as the vanguard. The carpet of ash mutes your landing, but the shadow army must have eyes everywhere as a swell of corrupted critters marches on you from the horizon: hellish Passiman and Rillaboom were charging to your fix at breakneck speed – while the skies above swarmed with Togekiss and Ribombee, wings black as night. Even the powerhouses of your ranks look a little unnerved, the vicious mob having you vastly outnumbered. You have a guardian on side however, their body enveloping in a green aura as their nostrils release a deep exhalation. It was difficult to discern what happened next, but the mass of shadow Pokemon were dropping like flies. It was Nature's Madness, rising from the ashes to reclaim what was taken from it. Immense, thorny roots ripped from the dead soil setting ramparts between you and the enemy, thornbushes pricklier than barbed wire fencing off the encroaching troopers. The aerial fleet were met with giant creeper vines, lashing at their wings and snatching them from their flightpath. The monochrome trenches then break out in red and purple blotches, a field of exotic flora leaving the enemies in a mangle of poison, paralysis and sleep. The guardian was making quick work of the army, singlehandedly to boot! The impressive tour de force works to draw more inhabitants out of the woodwork, all sorts of creatures now congregating to protect their home: Wigglytuff huff like balloons while Tangrowth emerge from sleepy tree hollows and Ariados scuttle from out of underbrush dens, each adding to your formation. Up above there were natives circling Tapu Bulu like a homing beacon, Tropius and Flygon beating their wings fiercely against the snowfall, while Braviary and Trumbeak filled the air with their battle caws. It was a force to be reckoned with, and growing still – but soon enough Tapu Bulu would have his hands tied as the red glow drew ever closer. It seemed now was the time to take to the skies, a mission easier said than done with several airborne enemies slipping through the defences. What will you do? Bounsweet and Elekid had certainly done their part, but trying to keep the Grookeys distracted could prove to be a bigger challenge they were equipped for. Hugo thought back to when he was a child and how the doctor would give him his vaccinations; he would always have a puppet in one hand to put on a bit of a distraction show, and the needle in the other. Hugo didn’t have a puppet – or a Shuppet for that matter – readily at hand, but what he did have was someone who loved to put on a show. Hugo released Mr. Mime, who admittedly was at first a bit gun-shy, but once he realized he no longer had to go toe-to-toe with Kyurem, he seemed much more at ease. Mr. Mime greeted Hugo with a frosty flourish of tap dancing, seeming eager to participate in whatever was being asked of him. “Alright, Mr. Mime. We need to keep these Grookeys entertained while Flora and her team get the samples that they need? You know how to keep the people entertained, right? You can do a little song-and-dance? Or well..dance-and-dance…since you’re a mime and can’t talk. You get the picture, right?” Bounsweet and Elekid looked to each other skeptically. Mr. Mime, of course, relished the opportunity, and gave a salute of agreement and slowly began tapping his feet on the floor in dance.

With the room illuminated, Sweeney is given a very clear view of Marco storming headfirst into yet more trouble. The Bartender winces as his partner is stricken by the abnormal eyes - and though somewhat sympathetic, it was hard to deny that Marco had gotten what he deserved. With the shock having passed, Sophie rails into a mental tirade against the Pancham, who merely huffs, pouting where he stood and deciding to remain as still as he could - if movement triggered the attacks, it would be wise not to risk another bashing. However, inspiration had already struck for Sweeney. Fishing out Poke Balls, Sweeney calls upon Izzy, Dizzy and Holster. The Horsea poses dramatically as he is released, clumsily staggering to one side as he desperately tries to correct in a coolly smooth manner - unfortunately the result is cumbersome and awkward, the Horsea trying his hardest to impress he intended every second. Dizzy delights at this, mockingly doubling over with laughter; the less impressed Izzy exaggeratedly rolls his eyes. With his squad assembled, Sweeney issues his orders, praying for good fortune. "Holster, I want you to cloak the surroundings in a Smokescreen. Try to make it as thin as possible while still making sure we're hidden from sight. Sophie, keep an eye both on Marco and the eyes - give us a warning if they attack as we're navigating us towards him. Izzy, prepare both a Light Screen and a Reflect, while Dizzy uses Safeguard to around us. Worst comes to worst and it seems an attack will get through, Sophie can warn us before using Protect - we cover as much distance as we can in the meantime." It was a shaky, uncertain plan - but it was the best Sweeney could come up with for now.

“Nikola, ensnare the core with Electro Web – then get to me, fast!” He needed the juvenile lizard well out of the line of fire for what would come next, “Let’s make use of that special buff Taiko, fire off a Hyper Beam – Ty, think you can do the same?” The trainer hoped the combined might of their Pokemon would be enough to disintegrate rock into rubble. While Taiko was a hardy Pokemon, he wouldn’t survive a soaking.

As they descended towards the forest floor, the true difficulty of the task at hand became all the more clear. Zygarde had already amassed a powerful army, their numbers swelling with each passing second. When he'd first entered the mystical forest, there was no sign of wild Pokemon, now they were everywhere! It wasn't long before the shadow forces sensed their arrival, thankfully Tapu Bulu was finally putting its power to good use. Madness flooded the Guardian as it turned nature against the corrupted Pokemon. It swatted them like flies, those that weren't taken down by force were taken down by the status producing flowers that sprouted throughout the forest. Tapu Bulu had provided them with the opportunity they needed. The remaining residents of the forest were drawn out by Tapu Bulu's display, they were prepared to rally around the Guardian. They'd likely need all the help they could get, Xander had a feeling that Zygarde's forces would do all they could to prevent them from getting close. "Pokemon of Zalfarthas", Xander shouted, "the destruction that has begun here will not stop, it will spread until it has consumed the entire Cradle! With the strength of Tapu Bulu, we have but one chance to end this torment. To do so we must get close the Zygarde, its forces will do anything to stop us. We need your assistance, to defend us from your corrupted friends so that we can put an end to the destruction and save the Cradle. Will you help us?" The bulk of their forces could advance through the skies, but the threat from below couldn't be ignored. They couldn't focus on what was in front of them if they had to worry about being attacked from below. Xander released Empoleon and Ivysaur from their balls. "I need the two of you to lead the forces on the ground, make sure we don't get attacked from below." Empoleon and Ivysaur both nodded, they knew their role. Xander nudged Corviknight, who prepared to take off once more. Charizard and Dreepy needed to conserve as much energy as they could, they'd need it for when they finally made it to Zygarde. Xander was still unsure on Impidimp's role, but he was beginning to come up with a plan. They needed to implant the relic in Zygarde and they were in possession of the Fairium Z Crystal that Mindbender had used to punch a hole in Zygarde, allowing its shadowy counterpart to finally overpower it. Perhaps they could use the Crystal to similar effect, a well timed attack could provide the opening they needed to use the relic.... |

King Ghidorah- Tasked with keeping the Grookey calm while Flora collects the necessary blood samples, you call on Mr Mime. The Galarian native is pleased to find itself not up against another legendary Pokemon, keeping a few anxious monkeys entertained was a much more achievable task. Flora collects the first Grookey, bringing it over to her lab bench. Her Gossifleur releases a Sweet Scent, calming the Grookey somewhat, however its eyes quickly become fixated on the needle in Flora's hand.
Meanwhile, Mr Mime's feet have started tapping against the cool, hard, lab floor. The Grookey are initially intrigued, but it isn't long before Mr Mime notices that they're starting to become more interested in what is going on with their friend. He had to up the ante. Waving his hands, the mime begins an old school mime routine. Walls, all around him, was he in a box?! The Grookey shift their focus back to him, intrigued by this change of pace. Mr Mime goes for it, breaking out of the box as he swings an invisible lasso around his head. He shoots Elekid a look, the Electric type isn't exactly happy about what is about to happen, but he knows what he needs to do. Mr Mime hurls the invisible lasso, looping it around Elekid. Elekid commits to the bit, allowing Mr Mime to seemingly drag him in with the invisible rope. "There we go, all done", Flora reassures the somewhat restless Grookey, who immediately scratches at its arm. "No no, none of that, here, have a nice Nanab Berry." The Grass Starter happily accepts the treat, before leaping off the table to re-join its friends. "Alright, whose up next?" The Grookey upon seeing their rewarded friend break into a squabble, all eager to earn their own reward. Thankfully the process is rather quick and painless and Flora swiftly collects her samples from the rest of the Grookey. "Well that was certainly much easier, you're Mr Mime really knows how to lighten the mood. These guys have had a hectic morning, we might let them get some rest before we release them into the sanctuary. Why don't we go see if we can find Andrew, he might need a hand going out to look for that lost Grookey, if that's something you'd be interested in doing?" Connor- It's clear at this point that you need to be prepared for an attack from all angles. Such a feat requires more bodies and you quickly call out three more Pokemon. A Horsea and two Ledyba join your company. You quickly order Holster to cloak your movements with a Smokescreen. The Water type is a little unsteady at first, but steadies herself as she emits the smoky haze. You can still make out the faint glow of the eyes, however you're unsure whether or not they can see you. Izzy quickly gets to work fashioning some defensive screens, while Dizzy makes sure you and your Pokemon are safeguarded against statuses. With the defences in place, you start to inch your way towards Marco, who is slowly regaining his footing. As soon as you start to advance however, the attacks start. Shadow Balls and Shadow Claws burst and scrape against the screens. Will-O-Wisps beat against the Safeguard, but for now your defences hold strong. Through the thin Smokescreen, you can just make out the forms of the Pokemon as they pull themselves from the walls and ceiling. Slabs of stone held together by ghostly tendrils, the Runerigus had you outnumbered easily. Marco stumbles towards you, the Runerigus striking him as he desperately scrambles for safety. There's no telling how much more the Pancham can handle and cracks are beginning to form in the screens. There was no way of knowing when this assault would stop, how long could your defences hold for? Emp- This was it, your chance to put an end to the elemental. It had already delayed you for long enough, there was no telling what the Shaman had accomplished in the time that its minion had bought him. You quickly devise a plan to secure the core before launching a pair of attacks powerful enough to completely obliterate them. "You better not miss kid, if this doesn't do it, we'll be sitting Duckletts." Ty would play his part, despite his concerns. Working quickly, Nikola launches another Electro Web. This one is more focused as the Helioptile looks to ensnare the combined cores, holding them in place so that Taiko and Tyranitar can get a clear shot. Both the Pupitar and Tyranitar begin to gather energy. Nikola's attack hits its mark and he quickly begins to rush back towards you, maintaining his hold on the core as he does so. "Do it now Tyranitar, Hyper Beam!" Ty shouts and Tyranitar lets rip with powerful beam of bright orange energy. Taiko launches his own in unison, his lacks the raw power of the experienced Tyranitar's, but it still carries with it a tremendous amount of force. The beams meld together as they drive through their target. As the core is destroyed, a resounding thunderclap knocks both you and Ty off of your feet. Taiko gained 3 levels! Nikola gained 2 levels! The rain quickly dissipates as you pull yourself up out of the mud. Ty lets out a groan as he struggles to right himself. "My bones aren't built for this shit anymore, if I'm not dead by the end of this, I'm definitely retiring. Good work Tyranitar and nice work kid, you came through with the goods when we needed it. That was just the entrée though, the main course is inside." With the Shaman's elementals now dispersed, you could finally track down your elusive foe..... |

For everything that's happened, sticking a knife into a Pokemon was something Leo hadn't expected he'd need to do. But, here he was. The Koffing and Shuckle were soundly defeated by his squad, and all that was left was the Skuntank. It certainly looked to be on its last legs, but the heavy darkness was certainly worrying. There as something strange about this for sure. Something that Leo couldn't place his finger on. No matter what his training was, he wasn't privy to the more serious implications of the world. "Come one and all, let us drink and make merry! Cott, entangle the Skuntank in a String Shot! Honey, don't let it move with a Stun Spore," he nodded towards the Swirlix and Cutiefly before looking around the room for his other Pokemon. "Ah, there you are Sprinkles," he stated, running up and grabbing his Morellull. "I want you to use a Confuse Ray on the Skuntank, got it?" he patted as he put the Pokemon down. "Souffle, wherever you are, I want you to try and use her cuteness to Charm the skunk!" He shouted out towards his Igglybuff, who was still near the Exeggcutor. "Carrot, I want you to make sure that everyone is doing well, and use Rock Throw if needed to block any attacks that might come there way!" With everyone else's orders done, he walked back over to Custard. Grabbing the Togetic's hand, he pulled the Pokemon upwards from the ground. It was time to finish things off once and for all. He could feel the Z-energy rapidly rising from his Z-Ring. "Now, let us indulge in this revelry. If there's one thing that we use to do in Team Skull, it was having the wildest parties around. And for a birthday bash, we end this with a bang!" Leo shouted, giving Custard a hi-five and a nod. "Know the might of the Alolan Moon, the guiding light that Lunala gracefully gives. Come, let us sing, make merry, and enjoy the depravity of revelry once more! See the joy of celebrations Tapu Bulu blesses us with, and know the wrath of the fey for destroying it! Let's do this Custard! TWINKLE TACKLE!" Leo shouts his Fairium-Z shining brightly with Custard's. The two perform the ceremonial Alolan dance before Custard starts to rapidly charge towards the Skuntank. Leo could see the starlight light up the room before it consumed all.

Like a flare had been set off, a shaft of golden light washed over the ruins as their beams propelled through the air and into the exposed core – weathering it into rubble in a matter of seconds. With a resounding thunderclap the threat was neutralised, the fallout enough to sweep the trainers off their feet! Emp felt a sharp jolt in his shoulder as Nikola’s electricity stores instinctively went live. Staggering wearily to his feet and squinting ahead, the mangle of dust and rainfall was clearing to reveal a fight won. Emp’s laughed in disbelief, slapping his Pupitar on the carapace before returning him to his Rock Ball. “You might not be ready to evolve yet, but today you battled with the strength of a Tyranitar.” He pocketed the ball before turning back to Ty, who was quick to remind them they were anywhere but out of the woods. Coming off the back of another win, the trainer wasn’t about to let his confidence falter though, “We’ll take on whatever lies ahead together – now let’s go, we don’t have a moment to spare!” goes from L60 to L63 goes from L19 to L21

TheKnightsFury: It was the moment of reckoning, a time to pull out all the stops before heading out into the eye of the storm. There were all sorts of forest dwellers were coming out of the rafters, and in lacking any semblance of formation you bring Empoleon and Ivysaur into the fray to lead the foot assault. The noxious air filled with their cacophony as they prepared to snuff out the shadowy incursion, or die trying. With the fight on the field accounted for, you give Corvinight a slap against his steely hide, coaxing him to stretch out his wings and make for another take off. The masses start to look like Durant as you pick up altitude, until a shrill caw from your ride diverts attention up to the skies above; more and more avian Pokemon were slipping through the Guardian’s tight defence, a Ribombee emitting a bloodcurdling screech while a Togekiss dawns down on you like a fallen angel. Corvisquire evades the nosediving enemy with a timely corkscrew while Charizard instinctively swats away the Ribombee, the pair picking up speed as more silhouettes emerged from the fog, bent on taking you out of the skies through any means necessary. The threat level was nothing compared to what lay ahead – the shadow Zygarde’s pulsating glow building in intensity as it homed in, putting its indiscriminate destruction on hold to confront Tapu Bulu face on. While the Protector of Lythan'Torr had demonstrated the strength of an entire army, you can’t seem to shake the feeling it is vastly outmatched. You wouldn’t have long left to speculate as the fallen Guardian cut through the fog with its devastating Core Enforcer, Tapu Bulu veering out of its warpath with inches to spare. It went to Disable the attack but the shadowy foe was a fast learner. Wings flaring and combusting blinding crimson, the skies were suddenly alight with a Thousand Arrows – the ride becoming a whole lot turbulent as Corvisquire attempted to evade the wayward spears of energy. The Pokemon on the field ducked for cover as arrows rained down, some successful while others less so. Tapu Bulu’s closes up and allows his wooden shell to take the brunt of the fire, suddenly adorned with more spines than a Pincurchin. The shadowy beast wasn’t about to let up, crashing to the earth with a mighty shockwave and sending a Thousand Waves permeating through the trenches. The rupture of energy does a quick number on Tapu Bulu’s botanical armaments, red hexagons emerging from the war-torn earth to block any means of escape. It was difficult to discern from this vantage but it seems the grass/fairy is chanting as the beast closes in, its cowbell swaying back and forth. With its body emanating gold, you could only wish it Godspeed… Spoiler: show Sprouting a body of pure energy in the nick of time, the two titans were suddenly equals in size and strength – locking in a fierce tug of war. Their wrestling was sending shockwaves through the air, aerial forces flocking for cover while the ground troopers scrambled away from nearby trenches. With the Legendary Pokemon preoccupied, the armies fell into free-for-all; a swarm of monochrome fell against a swarm of colour, for the most part evenly matched. It was impossible to pick out Empoleon, Ivysaur or Ammorith among the scrum, you could only pray they had a handle on everything as you set your focus squarely on the objective ahead. You could make a break for the Guardian, though the path was marked with enemies circling like shadowy fighter jets. In calculating your best route you make note of several surrounding trees the size of tower blocks, providing cover or a landing pad should you require. With no telling how long this window of opportunity would hold for, it was time to formulate your plan of attack. |

Tapu Bulu had shown its true power. Gathering all of its magic, it had constructed a body of pure energy, allowing it to match the corrupted Zygarde, in size at least. Whether it could match the shadow snake's power was doubtful, but Xander hoped the Guardian would at least buy them the time they needed. More arrows tore through the undergrowth, Xander was filled with concern for Empoleon and Ivysaur. He knew they'd be doing their best, Empoleon likely cutting opponents down with Steel Wings while Ivysaur kept others at bay with Sludge Bombs. They needed to concentrate on the path in front of them however, a path littered with enemies. If they were forced to tear through Zygarde's aerial forces, they'd likely lack the strength needed to bring the beast down. They needed a more conservative approach, it was time to split again. "Charizard, Dreepy", Xander shouted across to his Pokemon. "I need you to lead our troops directly towards Zygarde, draw in its minions while we sweep around. Dreepy power up Charizard's attacks with Helping Hand, if anything gets too close, zap them with a Thunder Wave. Charizard you know what you're doing, bathe your opponents with Heat Wave, then any that get to close will have to deal with your Tough Dragon Claws." Both dragons gave a nod, they knew their role. "Alright Corviknight and Impidimp, that just leaves us. Make for the trees Corviknight, we need to conceal our approach. Move quick and prepare yourself with an Iron Defence, if anything comes at us, bat them away with an Air Slash. Impidimp keep your eyes peeled and conserve your strength, put your Prankster ability to good use and Thunder Wave anything that tries to hurt us." |

We all look like this because of the spider's curse...
Pearl’s Perap – Deciding to switch tactics, you call out to your two partners to swap places, and Shane obligingly swoops down to fire a ray of rime at the fiend’s face, successfully freeing his friend from her vicegrip. The chilled arachnid hisses in arctic anger at having her delicious meal interrupted, finding herself biting frost rather than flesh. Diverting attention to the marionette dangling above her head instead, she blindly JABs a POISONous forehorn at the plush as if endeavoring to Pin the Tail on the Mudbray. Like a sharpened icicle spear, her now polar needle manages to pierce through the fabric, ripping a sizeable tear as stuffing pours out from poor Shane’s stomach. Resembling a sad broken party piñata, the ghost grimaces as he strives to patch the hole with his arm to prevent more fluff and guts spilling out; though you can see Shane shuddering as violet seeps through the surrounding skin, venom clearly having already infected the wound.
In retaliation, Shane takes a page from his opponent’s book and summons his own shadow to attack the spider in his place. Though she attempts to head him off with a pre-emptive counterstrike of her own, the snow manages to slow her down enough that Shane’s shade strikes first, cheekily smacking the bug’s bum with a snicker. Enraged, she still follows through with her assault, darkness swirling around her own limb as she SUCKER PUNCHes the sock puppet for significant damage. As Shane gets thrown back by the heavy blow like a rag doll, you notice purple pervading the spot where the stinger stuck him previously even further, toxin spreading fast throughout his system as stitches continue to come undone… Meanwhile, Doug at least manages to make his way over to the tree and takes a deep breath, quieting his psyche after the gross and awful ordeal he himself just endured. With meticulous care and meditation, he mentally focuses on removing each fiber from the fairy one by one, like unraveling an entire silver spool of thread in a single steady, continuous motion. Though the gentleness of the process seems to satisfy Flabébé’s fears, it will obviously still take a bit more time to liberate her completely. What do you do?

Keeping his attentions on the battle, the man witnessed the Banette and his Ariados foe exchange blows, each managing to land their respective moves. This wasn’t good for Shane, though, as the humongous spider had managed to both poison him and damage his outer body quite significantly. Given the fact he was once a plush toy in a former life, old grey stuffing spilled from the newly formed split in his body fabric and the Ghost type tried his best to replace it at once. The fatigue of battle and the poison coursing through his system made this more difficult and the spectre looked to be struggling and panicking slightly. “Shane, hold it together buddy.” Zak regretted his choice of words instantly as the poisoned Banette winced, stray stuffing clearly hanging out from his body, “We need to end things this turn if we can - try to avoid any more Sucker Punches and come to me, I’ve got a Full Heal to help with the poison. Once we’ve got you sorted, it’s time to lob a Shadow Ball at that awful arachnid. If you feel she is going to take you down, Bond her Destiny to your own instead.” Following their switch around, Doug seemed to be having much more joy with the webbing than his Banette friend, using his concentrated telekinetic powers to rip and rend at the very fibres of the Ariados’ silky trappings. Though he seemed to be getting on with the task at hand, it seemed like quite the exertion and his trainer called words of encouragement to the busy Psychic type once he had given the Banette his next commands: “Keep at it, Doug - our new friend is almost free thanks to your efforts!”

TheKnightsFury: Even with Tapu Bulu pulling out the big guns, the road to your objective was hardly paved clear. Shadowy demons painted the sky black and were becoming all too much for your forces to simply evade. You decide to fan out, commanding Charizard to join with the aerial assault and draw out enemy attention while you crept into the fallen Guardian’s territory under the cover of the immense treetops. The dragons shoot a solemn nod before veering into the warzone, a fiery roar drawing the natives in like a homing beacon. The strategy produces its desired effect as flocks of Tropius and Flygon draw level, bracing as a fierce dog fight got underway. Shadow Pokemon circle in on Charizard, the dragon meeting their advance with a fiery gust – the blistering Heat Wave eliciting screeches from the bug-types in their league. While several drop out of the sky, a few prove more than capable of handling the heat, a particularly menacing Aerodactyl sending it blowing right back with its Duel Wingbeat. The sudden shift in wind current throws off the ally forces, giving the prehistoric beast an opportunity to ram Charizard in efforts to Take it Down. While the Mega Evolution reels Dreepy returns fire with a Thunder Wave – giving Charizard a moment to recover and sink its Draconic Claws into the foe’s rocky hide. The Aerodactyl wrestles its way free with a Shadow Break but Charizard doesn't let up, raking the foe's tail on its way out with Dreepy lending a Helping Hand for good measure. Down in the trenches, how you had pictured Empoleon and Ivysaur fighting isn’t too far flung from reality; the metallic penguin was cutting through enemies like butter with its Steely Wings – the occasional heavy hitter giving it some trouble. A Shadow Rilloboom meets its blade with a Shadow Blitz, the two starter Pokemon wrestling on hands, flippers and knees for the upper hand. The skirmish catches the eye of Ivysaur who lobs a Sludge Bomb at the primate – her ally’s typing granting him immunity from friendly fire. This gives Empoleon the chance to gain the upper hand, the two pressing on further into the battlefield with their forces in tow. You’re barely able to catch the action as you head out onto your stealth mission, Corvinight tilting its wings as it breaks into a glide. You feel its Iron hide fortifying as it shores up its Defences for a possible ambush, your view of the vast battleground all of a sudden obscured as you break into the forest canopies. Your ride slows its approach just a few hundred yards away from the battling Guardians, trees shuddering from the aftershock of their intense tussling. While the stories tall treetops were still a great distance from the ground, it appeared you couldn’t stay in one spot for long unnoticed; shadowy Passimian were climbing to your altitude in masses, pelting coconuts with the force of cannonballs. While the Raven Pokemon manages to evade most of the incoming fire, a couple smash against his underside – reduced to a pulp against his dense armour yet creating some unneeded turbulence. The Corvinight fends off severalincoming projectiles with its Air Slash before going for the menacing monkeys responsible, blades of wind knocking them from their perches one by one. If that wasn’t enough to contend with, a monochrome Chatot catches your scent, letting out a bloodcurdling Chatter. The squawk is stifled by a Thunder Wave on Impidimp’s part, its oversized ears grateful for the respite. The canopies were dappled in red and gold as the clash of titans intensified. While impossible to see who had the upper hand from your obscured vantage, the red seemed to burn brighter while the gold was faltering, suggesting Tapu Bulu’s magic was wearing thin. Unable to afford any further delays, you can only hope your team are ready for what lies ahead. Last edited by Emp; 11-07-2020 at 05:40 PM. |

As they descended into the trees, they were bombarded from below by Passimians. Thankfully their projectiles crashed harmlessly against Corviknight's hardened plumage, the metal birb quickly dispersing them with whips of its wings. A Chatot took them by surprise, but thankfully the quick witted Impidimp swiftly shot the bird down with a Thunder Wave. They couldn't afford to delay, they had to get to Zygarde. Colours flashed as the Guardians clashed, he couldn't be certain, but it seemed as though Zygarde was beginning to overpower Tapu Bulu. The last thing they needed was another corrupted Guardian, they needed to purify Zygarde immediately. "Keep a Calm Mind Corviknight, we need to press on", Xander urged the bird to continue towards their target. Once we break cover, you'll want to Double Team to give us a chance to bridge the gap. If anything comes at us, you'll need to knock them away with Steel Wing, Impidimp and myself will need to focus." Xander pulled his bag around, retrieving the Fairium Z Crystal which he fixed into his Z Ring. "This crystal was used to harm Zygarde before, so hopefully it can do it again. We'll have to work in unison, but if we time it right, your Play Rough should be powered up into a Twinkle Tackle. Zygarde will likely then try and repair itself, so we'll have to be quick to deploy the artefact that Tapu Bulu created. Do you understand Impidimp?" The imp clambered around off of his back to lock eyes with him. Xander could see the Fairy's desire to right the wrongs of its past life. "Excellent, fingers crossed things go our way." |

TheKnightsFury: It was time to set your plan into motion – with your party clear on roles you make a break from the canopies leaving the incursion of coconut flinging demons in your wake. Your pilot is able to keep a Calm Mind which you can only hope rubs off as you inch closer to your reckoning. Breaching from the treetops a safe distance from the clashing titans’ crossfire, you’re given a sudden snapshot of the battle’s progression; the foot soldiers had gained the upper hand in the trenches, the shadowy forces finding themselves outnumbered and outsmarted. You spot Empoleon and Ivysaur among their leagues, leading the march despite showing visible wear and tear. To their rear Ammorith and his grandpa’s Archeops were firing Rock Blasts like cannonballs and they weren’t alone in this effort – the remaining Hunters and several local tribes had united to turn the tide, you even spot Orma battling alongside an Omastar despite her fierce allergies. A fiery roar of alerts you to your draconic teammates a hair's breadth away, Dreepy tasering enemies with his Thunder Wave allowing Charizard to go for the jugular with his Dragon Claws. Seeing everyone at once fills your bones with a mangle of relief and dread, knowing any one of them could succumb to the fallen Guardian’s wrath. With the mission more important than ever, you give Corvinight the signal to move in. With that the ride accelerates at mach speed, your grip doubling down as the wind resistance intensifies. The avian quickly reaches the velocity needed to multiply, greeting the clashing titans with a Team of Doubles. Tapu Bulu catches you in the corner of its eye but doesn’t dare shift his focus from its losing struggle, the battleground rippling with each fierce tackle. Zygarde on the other hand breaks concentration entirely – it had caught a scent of the artefact which was throbbing as you drew close, something about its mere presence repelling every cell in the foe’s body. For a split moment you catch a glimpse of what could only be described as fear… the sensation is gone as quick as it came, the fallen Guardian releasing a terrifying roar as its whole body emanates a Shadowy aura, giving Tapu Bulu a decisive headbutt against its wooden shell – putting a swift End to its resistance. Its golden figure fizzles away as it careens to earth in a giant crater, down for the count. The devastating loss forces your plan into overdrive, Corvinight breaking into a nosedive with Impidimp squeezing the Z-Crystal until it begins to radiate with limitless Fairy energy. In awakening the beast you were next on the chopping block, and it’s quick to welcome your approach with a Thousand Arrows. Your ride gives a startled squawk as it shifts to evasive manoeuvres, deftly avoiding a barb of energy while batting another away with its Steely wings. The widespread maelstrom decimates your spread of decoys and the Guardian is only getting started, its scaly hide bursting with a Shadow Wave which proves impossible to escape… With Corvinight shouldering the hit you are all of a sudden unsaddled, the three of you breaking into freefall! Impidimp was cast a few metres away holding onto the Fairium with all his might, which was about to go radioactive in spite of the disastrous situation. Corvinight was struggling to regain momentum an equal distance away, all the while the ground was zooming ever closer… What will you do? |

“Alright, that’s enough of you,” Hugo said to Mr. Mime who would have really done this all day if left to his own devices. “And you certainly were more into this than I would have guessed,” he said teasingly at Elekid, whose prongs sparked lightly in embarrassment. “But you all did a great job. Come on back, for now.” Hugo recalled Mr. Mime, Elekid, and Bounsweet, turning his attention back to Flora. “Yeah, Mr. Mime is a big ham, but he certainly does know how to put on a show. But a lost Grookey you say?” Hugo looked at the Grookey Gang happily munching their Nanab Berries. Despite their proposensity for rambunctiousness, they certainly were cute. Hugo was saddened a little to think of one of them lost and alone somewhere in the Cradle, which after all, Hugo knew could be quite the unforgiving place. “Sure, I would be happy to help. We don’t want any rampaging Grookeys on the loose now, do we? Where can I find this Andrew? How can I be of assistance?” Hugo couldn’t deny it felt good to be of assistance. Even if it was only in a meager role.

A decisive blow saw Tapu Bulu fall, the Guardian's magic no longer capable of keeping the corrupted beast at bay. A barrage of shadowy arrows shot down the clones almost immediately, Impidimp was still gathering the energy needed to punch the hole into the shadow guardian. Zygarde was unrelenting however and quickly let out a wave of shadow energy which battered Corviknight, knocking both Xander and Impidimp from their mount! Suddenly they were hurtling towards the ground at breakneck speed. Impidimp was still doing his best to follow orders, willing to fall to his demise if it meant fulfilling his duty. Corviknight was struggling to recover, by the time he regained himself, he'd likely not have the time to grab both Xander and Impidimp before they went splat... Xander tucked in his arms, streamlining himself as he angled himself towards Impidimp. He had to get to the reborn Fairy. If he wasn't able to steady himself before launching his attack, he could miss and all would be for nothing. If he could reach Impidimp, Corviknight wouldn't have to worry about catching them separately either. "Keep focus Impidimp, you can do it!" Xander reached for the artefact, knowing he'd have to react quickly once Impidimp used the Z Move. "Corviknight snap out of it, we're going to need a pick up!" Everything was riding on these next few seconds. The Cradle and the lives of everyone present were on the line, this was it..... |

TheKnightsFury: It had all come down to this moment. You had a clear view of the fallen Guardian but it would not go down easily, shockwaves of its raw power unsaddling your party with ease. You were freefalling at a blistering velocity, wind beating against your face and body, constricting your throat to a point you can hardly draw breath. Perception of time becomes distorted, everything slowing down until the battleground was wiped clear from your peripheral; just the three falling bodies and the raging behemoth ahead. You had to regroup and fast. With the Farium in Impidimp’s mitts about to go nuclear, the plan could quite literally blow up in your face, if gravity didn’t get you first. You fold your limbs to lower wind resistance, making a bearing for Impidimp – only hoping Corviknight will do the same when he comes to. You’re able to swiftly close the distance, arms snaring him mid-flight and directing him toward the desired target. It crosses your mind the calls for rescue might fall on deaf ears, forcing you to guide your fall directly into the shadowy enemy like a kamikaze plane. Something seems to stir in the Corviknight though and not a moment too soon, his freefall shifting into a glide as he swoops you up and into the eye of the storm. The fallen Guardian attempts a last-ditch volley of Arrows, Thousands of barbs exploding outward yet doing nothing to slow the moving train. Your gallant steed is willing to risk life and limb for the cause, arrows puncturing his steel armour as he inches to the finish line. The newborn knows his cue, fighting the turbulence to clamber up to Corviknight’s crown and plunge headfirst, body combusting with unbridled fairy energy. The Twinkle Tackle propels him ahead like a rocket, painting a streak of rainbow against the monochrome canvas before striking the titan head on. You feel your seat buckle all over again as Corviknight veers from the blast zone, the colourful detonation threatening to burn your retina as the screech of a hundred cells permeates throughout the warzone. The Raven Pokemon catches a glimpse of the comatose Impidimp ricocheting from the explosion, snatching him in a talon before swerving back toward the beast. What remained was an ugly sight, its head blown clean off with shadowy cells attempting desperately to seal the lesion. You would spare it no such chance, the artefact practically burning as you readied your aim. Time seems to come to a complete stop as you lob it ahead, its pulsing glow reaching a crescendo as it crashes against the open wound... Spoiler: show The Hunters Guild You come to with a weary groan, eyes glazed over with the remnants of a dream… or was it more of a nightmare? The cabin comes into focus with an air of familiarity, bars of morning sun breaking through the windows shedding some light on its rugged, rustic features. You were swaddled in warm furs, your teammates huddled around you in fierce guard. Their ears seem to prick up upon hearing your rumbling, an affectionate pile-on quickly ensuing. Your companions give you some space upon sensing your weakness, the commotion drawing the attention of a pair of familiar faces; Orma greets you with a perky smile while Ammorith hobbles in tow on a set of crutches, otherwise looking considerably healthier than he had during his imprisonment. “We did it. YOU did it.” He says simply, eyes glazing as though he might break into tears. “You were in a pretty nasty condition when we found you,” Orma remarks, “We thought you might be a goner but when Tapu Bulu came to, they healed you up like it was nothing!” “They even used their magic to help Impidimp retrieve Lilev’s soul from the underworld!” The pair of hunters step aside to give you a view of the other beds, which were filled with the sacrificial bodies, alive and well. Impidimp’s cheeks flush purple as he shuffles his foot in a bashful manner; he seems to have gained some closure in righting the wrong of his past life. “I also took the liberty of making your registration to the Hunter’s guild official. You’re one of us now, I even assembled you a uniform.” Orma gestures to a package at the end of your bed, chock with various gear including an Assault Vest and Rocky Helmet , equipment you could have sorely benefitted from in battle. The pair offer you some privacy and after some time you stagger to the nearest window, its picturesque mountain view soothing to the soul. Then a familiar glint of red and yellow comes into focus; the Guardian had been seemingly watching over you for some time. You amble out to the balcony to greet them, the scene of your covert departure many moons ago. I must offer my gratitude for your work in saving the Cradle. You endured tortures which no human should have to endure – the Guardians are forever in your debt. While peace had been restored the Guardian looks stoic as ever, facing out contemplatively at the endless stretch of wildwood. The purification triggered a reaction so immense that Zygarde’s cells were scattered across every corner of the Cradle. It will take some time for them to reassemble. I will be taking a more active role in protecting these lands until then. It was my complacency that allowed these events to transpire, a mistake that can only be atoned through action. I must head back to Zalfarthas to continue work healing the forest, as well as the minds of the creatures that reside in it. But before I do that – I leave you with a small parting gift. With a swing of its tail, a set of painted armour materialises before you. They were the plates it wore into battle, weathered and punctured with arrow holes. It had seemingly fashioned a new shell since shedding this one, the wood on its back sporting a look of fresh paint. It was an unusual gift by any standard, though it would be wise to mask any emotion short of gratitude. It seems Ammorith and Orma can’t leave you alone for more than one second, breaking onto the balcony shortly after with a look of shared awe. “Woah, that would make a nifty finish to your Hunter armour”, Ammorith suggests, fawning over the beaten wood. “I doubt that’s the first thing on his mind Amm’, after all he’s been through. Besides, I could see Xander fashioning armour to match his Corviknight's. Did you see how gallant they looked flying into battle?” You take little notice of Hunters’ playful back and forth, gazing reflectively over the panoramic mountainscape as Tapu Bulu shrinks into it. The sun was peaking over the hilltops, bringing a new day full of new adventures. You had likely had your fill as far as the Arboreal Cradle was concerned but it would ready and waiting for when you returned, as sure as the cycle of life and death. THE END You are awarded 1x Assault Vest, 1x Rocky Helmet and 1x Bulu Shell (teaches TR Grassy Terrain). Corviknight and Impidimp gain two levels for their role in the battle while the rest of your active party gain one level. This marks the end of your Arboreal Cradle adventure. It was probably my most ambitious in terms of length and scale so it feels incredibly satisfying to see it through to completion – hope you enjoyed yourself, PTSD aside. Lil'twick: Skuntank sneers at your plan, a menacing glint in his eye. The crafty skunk was a seasoned battler, and his ears prick curiously as you issue your orders. His snarling grin only grows wider as he abruptly glows with a faint white light, sidling backwards cautiously. His body language was suspicious, but the die had been cast. Your Pokemon begin their actions, each in turn directing beguiling fae techniques at the interloper. Try as they might, desperation gradually creeping in, Skuntank seems entirely unfazed, dully staring into blank space. Unfortunately for him, his miscalculation is a fatal one. Charging forwards, maw awash with blackened sparks, Skuntank aims to land a devastating Crunch on the Flabebe floating nearby you - but Carrot moves swiftly. Spinning in place, the Carbink fashions a rocky boulder, the glittering pink gem belying a dangerous weight. This is soon lobbed square into the face of the onrushing Dark type, and Skuntank snarls with disdain as his doppelganger vanishes in a puff of green smoke.
Seeing his opportunity, Custard strikes. Wheeling through the air, the Togetic hurtles towards his target, a defiant visage burned into the eyes of the aggressor. Fur on end, bristling as he braces for impact, Skuntank manages to strike one final, vain blow on the body of Custard, before the energy surrounding the Togetic discharges and explodes violently, sending Skuntank skittering away to come to a slumping, defeated heap. [All participating Pokemon grew by 2 levels!] The celebrations are as immediate as they are raucous. Pokemon flood back into the clearing, cheering wildly and hugging one another, basking in the glory of the triumph. The Prince slowly floats into prominence, raising her flower high, ushering in a hushed, whispering peace. Turning to Leo, she wears a resplendent smile - but there is a knowing sombreness in her eyes. "While we may have overcome this incursion, I am worried that this will not be the last... but I can see in your face you do not wish to spend much more time with us. That is your right, though I implore you to return. There is a darkness here that only an outsider can purge, I fear." As if to punctuate the words, Skuntank suddenly chortles, seemingly having faked his fainting to secure his escape. Shuckle clings tenuously to his fur, Koffing secured by the Bug type. Sticking his tongue out, the Poison type rushes from the copse, vanishing from sight, much to the chagrin of the aghast Prince. Shaking with fury, the Floette takes a moment to calm herself, sighing heavily. "Well... no need to allow this wondrous feast to go amiss! Please, indulge yourself to your content!" With that, the party begins in earnest. Revelry abounds, and during the festivity the blue Flabebe approaches Leo, asking to join his party in order to continue refining her culinary skills, an unwavering spark of admiration in her eyes. Furthermore, you are rewarded by the Prince with a Dazzling Gleam TR, as well as a Polkadot Bow, recoloured in the dark red and blue hues of the Prince.

It was all over... It was finally over. The Skuntank was defeated, and the party could go on. Everyone could finally enjoy the festivities as they were planned. And after all of that was said and done, he'd be able to leave. It was enjoyable for a time, but all things must end eventually. He impressed the Prince with his baking skills, which he was certainly happy about. Of course, the Prince's words were still hanging in the air, and he knew he'd return one day. Even if this all but a bygone dream, he'd be able to drift back when he knew his time was right. Darkness to darkness, light to light. He was going to respond, but the Skuntank's escape certainly was distracting. Collecting himself once the Pokemon was gone, he looked at the Prince. "I'll be back, I promise. Everyone here has earned a hard-earned rest, and well, I do kinda need to boost my team up more," Leo responded, reassuring the Prince of his eventual return. He looked at his team, everyone winning a hard-fought battle. Custard was looking at him with a jubilant smile. Every time they used their z-move, their bond grew. Stronger, and stronger, and stronger ever still. There was nothing he couldn't do with Custard at his side. And nothing would change that. The rest of his team was also back to enjoying the joyous occasion. He could see Souffle, Custard, and Carrot all enjoying themselves dancing around the giant Exeggcutor once more. Honey seemed to be buzzing around to the various activities, checking on his friends as well as enjoying what everything had to offer at this party. The only one who was unaccounted for, Cott, seemed to be nowhere in sight. Where did the Swirlix go? Well, it wasn't that hard to find him. Looking over at the table of food, he could see the fairy-type stuffing his face in. Seemed some things never changed. Leo chuckled a little, being happy to see his team being able to cool off after such a lengthy battle. Though he did go over to all of them every once and a while to make sure they were doing alright and if they needed anything. That was then when he was approached by the Flabebe. She definitely wanted to join him, and he was glad to have her. After all, both of their goals aligned in terms of culinary excellence. How could he not take her along with him? "Well, we might be a little full right now, but I'm sure I can make up some excuse on the way home. Anyways, I think I'll name you Farine? Does that work?" he asked the Flabebe. She looked at him, a little surprised at first. "Oh yes, that's wonderful!" she chimed in delight. "Glad you like it. Just a word of warning though, once we leave here I won't be able to understand you. But a communication barrier hasn't stopped me before when it comes to baking, so it won't stop me now!" he exclaimed as he produced one of his Luxury Balls from his bag, and gently tapped the Flabebe with it. The ball shook within his hand. With a one, and a two, and a three! And like that, she was his now, and he was ready to enjoy working with her. The Prince came up to him one last time, giving him (yet another) copy of Dazzling Gleam, as well as a Polkadot Bow fashioned after her appearance. While he didn't have anyone who'd be perfect for it just yet, he knew he'd find a partner to wear it later down the line. He could tell the festivities were starting to reach their conclusion at this rate and called everyone over. While it was sad to part at this time, he knew most of them would be able to tag along the next time they were here. With everyone safely back in their balls, Leo suddenly felt extremely tired. His vision started to get hazy and heard words whispered within his ears. "Baby's breath and Butterfrees." He awoke within the Cosmic Clearing, feeling incredibly groggy. Was all of that a dream? No, it wasn't. He was still clutching the bow within his hands. A gift from the fae, no doubt. He looked up and knew that he'd be back. But that was for another day, another dream. (Claiming the above rewards, as well as the Flabebe. Talking with Connor, she's Level 18 with the moves from the battle she partook in. I'll be back here soon, just wanted to finish up my PI adventure and boost my team up for what felt appropriate to continue here. See you soon Arboreal Cradle~)

Can't stay here, I need to find Rufflet. Can't just walk out, or I'll run into a wild Pokemon. I'll need to find cover while there's still smoke. Maybe I can use... He started swimming out to the edge of the pool. He poked his head out of the water, keeping low to avoid the smoke. The area immediately around the pool seemed safe enough. He pulled a Poke Ball off his belt and sent out Odo, his Trapinch. "The smoke should've concealed that... Odo," He ordered, fishing around in his bag as best he could underwater. "Somewhere in this cave is a Rufflet, a tiny Bird Pokemon. I need you to find it. Take this-" He found his Fishing Rod and yanked a length of line off it, then handed one end to Odo, who bit down on it. "I'll use this to follow you, alright?" Odo nodded. Dracen pulled another Poke Ball out and sent Goomy back out next to him. "Goomy, hold on to my shoulders and get ready." Goomy nodded as well. "Alright," Dracen gripped the other end of the line tightly. "Odo, Laser Focus!" Odo's eyes flashed as she scanned the room, peering through the smoke with a sharp, focused gaze. She zeroed in and took off, surprisingly fast for her size. Dracen ducked back under the water and swam, following where the line pulled. Once the line began to pull away from the water, Dracen swam up to the surface and ordered, "Goomy, ready! Protect!" He climbed out of the water as a shield of blueish energy formed around him. Odo's line pulled onwards into the smoke. Hopefully, they could find and grab Rufflet, then find someplace to hide until they could figure out their next move... |

"You can find Andrew down the hall, can't really miss him," Flora responds to you as she puts the last of the Grookey down. "Tall scrawny fellow. Kinda looks like a Simisage if you give him a quick glance. Anyways, ask him for help in finding the missing Grookey. He's a little... out there but he is great at tracking down Pokemon." She gives you a wave off as she corrals the tired Grookey towards the sanctuary. With your team with you, you head off down the hall, so to speak. You don't initially see anyone as you make your little trip, but then see a sort of blur head into a room. Taking a peek into it, you see a little lounge where various staff members seem to be on break. You see something that looks like a Pokemon digging through the fridge before grabbing a sandwich and running towards a table. You get a closer look and see a younger-looking man devouring the food item, his gaze protective of the food he is consuming. He then looks towards you and looks a little awe-struck. He puts his sandwich down and walks towards you, eyes filled with curious intent. "Hello there!" He cheerfully chirps as he stops right in front of you. "The name's Andrew! You new here? You work here? You a trainer?" He proceeds to question, his words starting to come out so fast that they sound similar to gibberish. His eyes then light up with worry as he runs back to grab his sandwich before running back. His senses were a lot more alert than the average person from what you could tell. You at least could understand what Flora was saying now. He looks at you with expectant eyes, waiting for a response. What do you do?

But regardless, it made sense. It was very clear to Hugo that young Andrew was incredibly vigilant. Nothing would get past him. No detail too small for him to notice. And besides, who better to track down a missing monkey than someone who could apparently think like a monkey himself? “That really must be one hell of a sandwich you have there, my friend,” Hugo said with a laugh in regards to Andrew’s treasured snack. “But yes, nice to meet you, Andrew. Flora said I might be able to find you here. My name is Hugo. Hugo Harrison. To answer your questions: yes, yes, yes. I am new here, I do work here…in a way, and I am a trainer. I’ve spent quite a bit of time here in the Cradle, much of it in the Wrath, and decided it was time for a change of scenery. Perhaps somewhere where I could do some good…contribute somehow, you know what I mean?” Hugo took a moment to study Andrew’s expression. “So here I am. I was helping Flora with the Grookeys. We were having a great time, but she mentioned that one of them had gone missing and that I might be able to lend a hand. And that’s why I came looking for you. At your service. How I can help?” Hugo gave kind of an awkward salute and laughed nervously.

"Help? Help! Help..." Andrew responded to you in a variety of ways before taking a bite of his sandwich. You couldn't exactly tell what he was thinking here. For all you know he could just go back to being protective of the food in his hands, or he could also legitimately give you a response. Everyone else in the room was giving you a look of pity but didn't move to try and assist. Seems this was what you were stuck with for now. "Well, first things first. If it's a Grookey then they love Nanabs! There are a few spots here in the forest where they frequent. Uh, a map... Where's my map... Map!" he exclaimed as he procured a map from his back pocket. He grabbed your arm and sort of ran back towards the table. He let you o just enough so you wouldn't crash into it as he barreled into his seat. You could tell that this was specifically his spot, as the chair swiveled around in circles before stopping him at the table. The man was in a laughing fit the entire time, but when it stopped he slapped his face with both of his hands as if he was trying to get focused. "Okay, well. See these circles? The red ones are where the Grookey likes to hang out," he states as he points to a variable amount of locations. "Then these green circles are where the Pansage hang out... The Grookey and Pansage get pretty territorial over their territories." He starts going on about how the Grookey and Pansage are often warring with each other, their habits, and so forth. Nothing that particularly was interesting or relevant, but there was a spot you notice that was circled differently. It was a black circle that was deep within the cradle. You point it out to him, and Andrew stops what he's doing. "Oh, there. This is the Temple of the Monkey King, per se. It's hidden deep within the Navel... All of the Monkey Pokemon travel there on the night of the new moon to partake in a grand feast in honor of it. If we look at the lunar chart..." He mutters as he pulls out a second piece of parchment. "The new moon was last week... But... Hmm. It could be an option to go for. The city areas are too busy for a Pokemon that's escaped. If it was running away from something, it might try and get protection from the king," Andrew muttered, his tone suddenly more calm and rational. "Well, it's our best shot. Though, of course, traveling into the Navel is extremely dangerous for the unprepared. You up for the risk?" he asks you with a cheeky grin. How do you respond?

But poop talk aside, Hugo certainly couldn’t deny his sense of adventure. Though he was looking for a more peace-filled experience following his other encounters in the Cradle, the concept and the legend of the monkey king filled Hugo with a certain feeling of excitement. Trekking through the jungle, searching for the hidden temple and legends within, he would be a true explorer. Granted, his guide was a little more than daffy, but he seemed like a good kid despite the eccentricities. “Am I up for the risk? Am I up for the risk? Why, “Up for the Risk” is my middle name!” Andrew stared at Hugo blankly. “I mean, uh…it’s not like…it isn’t my actual middle name. My actual middle name is…uh…Mortimer.” More blank stares. “Look, it’s a family name.” … “Okay fine. It’s not a family name. …anyway, yes. Let’s do it. Let’s go to the Monkey King and find this missing Grookey. I’ve got to see what this all about. Before we go, I just need to make a few swaps on my Pokemon team, and I’ll be ready to head out. Just give me one second.” What had Hugo gotten himself into now? Was Mortimer really his middle name? Tune in next time!
