MY AERODACTYL
______________ Grant walked briskly into the newly opened Adoption Center, deftly dodging dozens of trainers excited to get a new Pokemon. This was the Grand Opening, after all. Grant scanned the aisles of Pokemon, looking for one he thought might fit in with his team. He saw Pokemon of all types and sizes. While he was primarily looking for a Ghost-Type, he was certainly open to other options. When he arrived in the Ghost-Type section, he saw a whole slew of Shuppet. I've always wanted on of these! he thought excitedly to himself. "Hey!" Grant waved his arms to a nearby attendant, calling him over. As the attendant approached, though, Grant noticed out of the corner of his eye that an Aerodactyl sat in the back cage. Its eyes were staring directly at him with such intensity that he could almost feel the gaze burning through him. Grant turned and locked eyes with the Aerodactyl, and for a moment, they stared in silence. Then, Aerodactyl's expression suddenly went from pensive to satisfied, almost eager. It reached out from between the cage bars with its clawed hand, uttering a surprisingly gentle coo. It was at that point that the attendant finally made his way over to Grant. "Well, did you find a Pokemon you'd like?" The young man asked him,"Oh, did you want one of these Shuppet?" Grant pondered for barely an instant. I'm sure at least one of these Shuppet will still be around in a few days when I come back. Besides, that Aerodactyl really seems to want to join me... "Nope!" He said with full confidence, "I'd like the Aerodactyl, please." The attendant's eyes widened in surprise. "Are you sure? That Aerodactyl's been quite the handful. It never seemed to respect anyone on our staff." Grant grinned, pulling out his Wallet and a Poke Ball. "Oh, don't worry sir. I'm pretty confident that he'll respect me just fine." "Well," the attendant said with a chuckle, accepting the money and walking over to Aerodactyl's cage, "I certainly hope so." He continued as he unlocked the cage. "I'd say you have the right attitude, at least." The attendant couldn't help but look surprised, however, when Aerodactyl zipped right over to Grant until he stood directly in front of him, eyes expectant. Smiling, Grant enlarged the Pokeball and gently tossed it at the Fossil Pokemon. After a bit of wobbling, it clicked. Grant clipped the ball to his belt, thanked the attendant, and exited the pandemonium of the Adoption Center with a smile on his face. |

Claiming this gal. $30 here, and using one of my existing Poke Balls.
--- Sweeney had largely avoided heading to any established areas since having fled the Bar. While he would not be surprised to find that his absence had been completely unnoticed, he didn't want to play chicken with his life again quite so easily - the risk of being recognised, even with his face constantly hidden, was too high. Still, the grapevine had been twitching an awful lot lately. Political upheaval had seen a massive shift in the power structure of the area, with vacuums to fill - and more importantly, Pokemon left abandoned by those not wishing to be caught in the aftermath of such an abrupt change of the guard. This had pulled on Sweeney's heartstrings - while certainly out for himself, he wasn't pleased to see so many Pokemon being left to the Adoption Center. By the same token, surely they would be overrun? It would only be doing his public duty to go and at least take a look around. He didn't owe much, if anything, but ... Walking through the doors of the Adoption Center, Sweeney immediately freezes, He had expected it to be busy but this was a whole new level of hell. People were storming around everywhere, trying to dig up one of their particular wants and immediately paying up. Sweeney had intended to take his time, try to find a Pokemon who might bring some sort of balance to his mania of a team. Just as this thought passes his mind again, a commotion heads straight for him. A small green Pokemon was hightailing it from one of the Adoption Center trainees and heading straight for him. Sweeney had no time to react, but the scene had already played in his head. He gritted his teeth ... and was sent hurtling back out the door to the center. Crashing along the ground, Sweeney becomes immediately aware of a significant weight standing on his chest, the beady black eyes of a Larvitar looking down at him. The Rock type wears a wide grin on her face, and as the attendant approaches, Larvitar waves a stubby arm at Sweeney. A groan escapes from Sweeney's throat in the process, part because of his luck and part because of the slow process of his becoming winded. Shrugging to get Larvitar to move, Sweeney allows Sophie from her Poke Ball, the Solosis rolling her eyes as she realises her trainer had been pulled into taking on yet another miscreant. A telepathically transmitted conversation later, and Sweeney is handing over the arbitrary adoption fee before presenting Larvitar with her new Poke Ball. Sophie gives the newcomer a sullen glare, reluctantly passing on her new name. Julia. Last edited by Connor; 05-12-2017 at 06:41 PM. Reason: Added link |

"Noooo," Jeri moaned to himself, pausing in front of the doorway of the Adoption Center, with a NOW OPEN sign plastered on the front, "I shouldn't." He mulled about in front of the center, pacing nervously. He had only come into town for a routine shopping trip, but having seen the Adoption Center's sign indicating its recent reopening and the new Pokémon filling the field outside, temptation struck. "Ohhhhh fine I'll just look," he told himself, fully aware that was likely a lie. Almost immediately after walking in, he saw it, munching on berries dangling from a high branch - a Pokémon that he had been seeking ever since his visit to Foretree City. Like lightning, he reached into his pocket, pulled out $30, and slammed it on the attendant's desk. "That there. Tropius. I'll take it." Adopting the Level 1 Male Tropius, please! Putting him in a regular old PokéBall, of which I now have 16. |

Keith raced into the Adoption Center as soon as the doors were thrown open. He didn't expect to be the fastest of everyone who had gathered, so he didn't even bother trying for the Aerodactyl, or the Larvesta, or any of the Shinies, though it did sadden him a bit to see that someone else beat him to the Magikarp. "Aww, and I had the perfect nickname for him," Keith murmured. He waited a moment for Meowth to respond before remembering- he'd left Meowth back at the Secret Base. He didn't want the Normal-type getting trampled by this insane crowd. Looking around, Keith soon saw another tank of water, this one not quite so bustling. A lone Water-type swam around in it, and so intriguing was its appearance that it warranted Keith taking out his Pokédex and pointing it at the aquatic creature.
"Tympole, the Tadpole Pokémon. A Water-type. By vibrating its cheeks, Tympole emits soundwaves imperceptible to humans and warns its kind of danger. It uses the rhythm of these sounds to talk." "Interesting," Keith remarked, approaching the Tympole's tank. "Hey there, Tympole," he greeted the Water-type. Tympole, in response, poked his head out of the tank, eyeing Keith curiously, before vibrating his cheeks. Keith couldn't hear anything, but he did feel some curious vibrations. It felt... almost... like Tympole was happy? To meet Keith? Keith blinked- was this what the Pokédex meant? Could Tympole convey his emotions to others through vibrations? "Heh, you're glad to meet me, are you?" Keith asked. Tympole smiled in response and created more of the same happy-feeling vibrations, which Keith took to mean yes. "Well, I get the feeling you and I will get along just fine, then," he stated. He held out a Great Ball. "Come with me," he offered. "I got a name in mind for you- how's Tinnitus sound?" He grinned as Tympole responded with the same kinds of vibrations from before. No sound was audible to him, but somehow, the soundwaves got the point across nevertheless. And even if they hadn't, the way Tinnitus jumped up and rammed the Great Ball certainly didn't leave much to the imagination. The ball clicked shut, and Keith grinned his satisfaction as he went to pay for his new Tympole. OOC: Adopting the level 1 male Tympole, naming him Tinnitus, declaring his Ability to be Hydration, and placing him in this Great Ball (#3 of 3). Oh, yeah, and paying 30 for him, naturally. The opening of the AC proved to be chaotic as Connor had guessed. Oddly, no camera slung on his neck and not a single one of his Pokemon were present. The young photographer didn't know why he went here knowing the inevitable crowd that would gather in front of the Center's doors. People had been scrambling to find a Pokemon they had liked and quickly the photographer realizes why he had visited in the first place as he saw a trainer step out with a Pokemon he knew all too well.
It never dawned on the photographer until now, but seeing some of the Pokemon he had previously raised go to other new trainers... that feeling of finality, the fact that he will most likely never see most of them ever again... it did leave a certain hurt in his heart. Deeply, he knew he had wanted to see them one last time, even though both parties involved agreed to him dropping them off there. Yet all the same, passing by some of his former Pokemon that are now happy to begin a new chapter in the lives, it made Connor... hopeful. Hopeful that, as his new beginning would turn out for the best, that his old Pokemon would enjoy their new lives as well. The photographer was about to head outside when he felt that someone was staring at him. Amidst the chaos, he found that a certain Dratini had noticed him. While Connor has had experience of raising Dragon-types during his tenure in the Daycare, the young man had personally never had to raise a dragon of his own. With the Dratini staring at him with his big oval eyes, it sort of reminded him of the time he had met Foster in this Center too. He was calling to him, practically asking him to take him at this point. Connor was so stunned at the Dratini's gaze that it took someone rudely bumping to him to realize the chaos the Adoption Center was having. It wouldn't be long now before someone else would notice the dragon and snatch him away. He didn't really have any intentions of adopting a Pokemon here, but a gut feeling was telling him to take the little one and the Dratini seemed so insistent on making Connor take him too. "This must be what they say... for every good-bye, there's always going to be new hello, huh? I'm actually surprised no one else has gotten your full attention, given how revered your species usually are... or is this your doing I wonder?" Connor said as he was amused at the thought. "All right, you got my attention! Let's get you out of here before someone else take you eh? What say you... Montblanc?" With his decision made, he turned to the staff. "Excuse me, this Dratini... I'd like to adopt him please!" OoC: Nabbing this little guy in this here Pokeball! You'll be traveling with me, Montblanc! Payment. Last edited by uhhhhh; 05-12-2017 at 08:31 PM. |

It was hard not to get caught up in the hype.
Throughout the political upheaval, numerous Pokémon had been unfortunately abandoned or otherwise unable to be cared for. The adoption center blessedly had been able to stay open and take these refugees in, caring for them and making sure none were harmed by the chaos gripping the region. Without a stable governing body, though, no adoptions could be finalized, and space was quickly running out in the center. It was fortunate, then, that the upheaval was over and things were returning to life as normal. Even better, today was the day the center reopened for good - and to an incredibly excited public too. The crowds gathering at the building were awash with anticipation, waiting for the doors to swing open and for new partners to be adopted. Infected by the general enthusiasm, Drew found himself among the masses waiting for entry with his Rotom floating at his side per usual. He hadn't had any plans in particular to adopt to be truthful, but the atmosphere had gotten to him. So, he and Rotom waited in companionable silence until, finally, the doors opened. Trudging through the crowded shop, Drew could see the crowds gather thickest in certain areas. Towards the higher-ceilinged back, a rocky area set up for Dragon-types and draconic creatures had garnered a lot of attention. With the large forms of an Aerodactyl and Tropius glimpsed over the heads of people, it wasn't hard to see why. Meanwhile across the shop, by the fish tanks a very buff Horsea had also drawn the eyes of a few trainers. An adorable Totodile in some trainer's arms had just drawn Drew's own gaze when he spotted her from the corner of his eyes. On a small perch towards the center of the room, a tiny Pidgey stood at attention. As each person approached, the little bird puffed out her chest with pride only to sag dejected when they continued past towards something around her. Drew felt his heart break as the bird's prideful look became more forced. "Hey Rotom," he called out to said Pokémon, currently floofing up a Mareep's fur with electricity. "I know what we're going to do." Not waiting for a response, Drew made his way towards the birdcage. Crouching to eye-level when he reached it, Drew smiled as the Pidgey startled at someone noticing her. She quickly caught herself, though, and puffed out her chest as she had before. She twittered softly as Drew slowly reached out a hand and, with her permission, stroked her head-feathers. "Aren't you a cute thing," he said softly, to which she straightened with a glare. "Badass thing then," he corrected to her satisfied nod. "Well then," he said, leveling his gaze. "Would you like to come with me? I won't make you if you don't want to." The Pidgey tilted her head, as if thinking the offer over. She didn't wait long before flapping up into the air to land on Drew's shoulder. With a happy chirp, the bird's decision was clear. The trainer grinned. "In that case, let's go officialize things." _________________ Paying $30 to adopt this Lv. 01 (F) Pidgey and placing her in a Poke Ball. |

"I'm so glad we did this, Di. Though I'm surprised you even offered to help honestly." "I offered because I had to. I cannot sleep knowing that another pokemon might have to go through what Cy-... what he and I went through in the system." The pair entered the room where the pokemon's cages were kept. Some were roaming around freely, some were locked away for the public's (and their own) safety. There were so many pokemon around that Michael almost squealed with excitement. So many choices! He felt like a kid in a candy shop! Ooh, he could adopt the Slakoth! He'd met so many around vendanturf and they seemed like such chill pokemon. But what about Girafarig? They were so cute, and so clever too. Oh, but the Scraggy looked so small and precious, almost like another version of Murray. Then there were the Axew and Dratini, the potentially powerful dragons. That could be a true test of his skills as a breeder! And the shiny pokemon too! They were so rare... Michael hadn't noticed he'd stopped. He was too busy daydreaming and imagining all the fun he could have with the pokemon around him. His thoughts were racing a mile a minute. So imagine his surprise when his mind suddenly went blank. "Dikune! I didn't ask you for th-," Michael pouted, before realising his Hypno was a few feet ahead of him. That was odd. Then who'd done the dream sucky thingy? He felt a weight on his head. That answered his question. He reached up and pulled the thing on his head off, and lowered it so he could identify the culprit. It was a Munna. Now that he thought about it, it should have been obvious. Pink mist was still drifting from his head into the small pigs nose, and she mewled with satisfaction at its taste. "Michael, are you ok? I didn't see we had been separated!" Dikune asked, flustered. The Hypno had Teleported back when he realised Michael was gone. He saw the pink mist coming from Michael and Munna, and realised what was going on. His face dropped. "Michael. Put her down. She might have done something to you." Dikune growled. Michael complied, releasing the Munna from his grip. The Munna stretched and yawned, clearly sated. "Oh don't be like that Di, she's harmless? See?" Michael replied. Dikune's stern expression remained unchanged. The Munna wasn't phased by his hostility though. In fact, the little psychic pig had chosen to perch and fall asleep on his head. This caught the stoic Hypno off guard, and almost threw him off balance. "See, she likes you!" Michael teased. Hypno couldn't say anything, instead only giving out flustered half sentences of confusion. Michael laughed, before looking around for one of the assistants running the centre. He gave the one he found some money, and in return was given some familiar documents to sign. "What do you say, should we keep her?" Michael asked. Dikune was still tongue tied however. It turned out that he and the Munna had been having a little telepathic conversation while she slept, the contents of which he refused to share with his trainer (He later revealed that at one point, the Munna had likened his head to a warm fluffy marshmallow). "I'll take that as a yes then. Welcome to the team Esmerelda!" ------------------------------------------------------------ Adopting this Level 1 Female Munna, and putting her in this Heal Ball. $30 Payment |

It was truly a hectic day at the Adoption Center given its grand reopening, but one that Duke had been anxiously waiting for a long time since he let go of most of his companions. The truth is, for years he felt he had lost the spark of what made a true dragon tamer, and ever since that dreaded incident he had trouble maintaining the kind of self confidence he once had mastery of. It was all his fault. By the end of it all, only the most stubborn of his companions remained, despite how hard he tried to push them all away. In order to find himself he needed to start anew. To raise yet another true dragon from the grounds up into magnificence, and in the process, to ascertain his own value a trainer of Blackthorn.
As he made his way to the counter, he wasted no time to let it be known what his desire was. He had already seen the listings online, and in an instant he felt it was meant to be. A young female Axew. He knew not whether she would accept him, but even if she didn't, that would be fine as well. It would be his personal challenge to build a nigh unbreakable bond with this creature. He already had a name in mind, even. Presea. A precious thing. It would be a name she would grow into. OoC: Adopting this little one while I can. Payment. Placing her into a Pokeball (3/10). Last edited by Balmund; 05-12-2017 at 09:13 PM. Reason: removing sig / added pokeball link / added RP |

Pokemon to Adopt: Lv. 1 Shiny Female Sandile
Payment: $30 Pokeball: Premier Ball (2/3) *************** So you're one of the really special Pokemon here, huh? It's not hard to see why! Let's see what you are though: Sandile, the Desert Croc Pokemon, and the pre-evolved form of Krokorok. They spend most of their lives hidden in the soft sands of the desert to maintain a high body temperature, leaving only their nose and eyes exposed to keep themselves safe from predators. Their eyelids are a very dark color, so they can see very well in the sun as they make their way through the sand. Once a prey item has stepped close enough to one, it will grab the prey's leg with its jaws, dragging the prey under the sand until it is too deep to escape from. If the prey is large, multiple Sandile may be seen attacking it in an attempt to secure a meal for all of them to share. Sandile's preferred food source is Trapinch, sometimes stalking Durant until a Trapinch's lair is encountered. Well, good thing Ezreal's a Vibrava now! Anyway, time to take you home! : Sandile~ *jumps into his arms* Aw, that's so nice of you! To be honest, I thought the first thing you would do is- : *noms on his elbow* ...bite. Don't worry, I'll get you something else to chew on...Ammit! : *continues chewing on his elbow* And it'll hopefully be sooner than later...Thanks Adoption Center, and happy grand opening! {Apparently there never was a Shiny Sandile humpy sprite made, so I went with a regular one instead.} Last edited by Gemini Spark; 05-12-2017 at 08:48 PM. |
