Roman concrete solved
It's been known for a while that Roman concrete used volcanic ash as an ingredient, but there was still something missing. We now know the full recipe. In addition to ash, Romans also used quicklime, and heated the conrete before pouring it. This made the concrete extremely resistant to erosion in a way that modern concrete isn't. Modern concrete isn't heated by the way, the only heat comes from the chemical reaction.
I'm sure that with this knowledge modern scientists will be able to formulate a concrete better than either modern or ancient. What wild times we live in. What's next? Talking to whales?
