I think the new trailer is more bad than good, but it's not all bad. Miraidon/Koraidon are abominations. I like the region and the open-world approach to the game, although that hardly makes it memorable.

So this is the Rotom Phone era huh. I think we can clearly point fingers than the zoomer pandering in the form of a fake smartphone was where Pokemon went on its decline.

Terastallize would be cool if it just a Protean clone that allowed any Pokemon to change type. It being limited to certain mons makes GF look incompetent again.

yeah Terastallize is any mon and (nominally) any type. Non-STAB types appear to be locked behind raids, and it's fixed on a per-mon basis.

That's what I don't understand. It's either all types or it's one type. Like the big thing I saw was Chlorophyll Venusaur being a Fire-type, Charizard being a Dragon-type and Blastoise being a Grass-type. So those are the only Terastallize options for those starters?

An equivalent to Gmax (special forms for special mons) is pretty much a given, but the mechanic is lame if specific mons are whitelisted to only get one change of type.

I think the phone is a massive step back from the Rotom Pokedex. The Pokedex itself was a Pokemon-specific technology and the dex was both an analog for AI and a logical step forward for how you upgrade the dex, turning it into an actual character.

Featuring a smartphone with apps is the kind of thing I'd expect out of low-brow kid comedy like Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet or The Secret Life of Pets 3 or something.

It isn't very creative and, while not the biggest sin, is pretty emblematic of an era of less impressive or imaginative Pokemon games.

You can have any mon terastallize to any type, but each specific mon has a set type they will terastallize to. Think of it more like Hidden Power.

Hidden Power was based off IVs, so you're saying terastallize type is based off a hidden value with the Pokemon that one has to breed or catch.

That's pretty cool, actually. And truthfully it sounds like Hidden Power got removed then reintroduced as a gimmick.

Basically. We have no idea what it's tied to or if it's even tied to anything beyond just being an assigned random per-mon value, but it's basically Hidden Power all over again. Only this time, with non-STAB options locked behind raids (though I presume breeds will still work to a degree).

Also I do reckon they'll re-introduce Hidden Power and have it tie in to Terastal by always being your Tera-type, so you'll always have an option for Tera-STAB.

I think it's on point this time. I recall being overall positive on the Gen 8 designs, with a few like the Coalossal line, Stonjourner, and Grimmsnarl lowering the average so far it was the worst for me. But I liked almost all the Gigantamax designs.

This time, the overwhelming number of designs are bad. All the past forms suck, and only a few future forms I like. Whatever that Dark/Ground thing is, horribly busy and ugly. The stupid dolphin, the freaking minecraft house, BLEUGH. Easily a new low for FailFreak.

For all the hate towards Gimmighoul it's average or + compred to some of the other butt dribble.

Over the past decade that's false...I liked Gen 5 and Gen 7's designs, and I was filtered by the 3DS for Gen 6 and didn't get involved in it.

I only became explicitly critical on the designs when Nintendo used artwork as the excuse for why the Gen 8 dex was incomplete.

Though, if we're going back REALLY far, I disliked Gen 3 and 4 quite a lot for their Digimon look, so maybe it's true? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I guess Kaphotics isn't doing the datamine this year, but there's a bunch of leaked pastebins that are pretty messy. The bottom line though is a lot of Pokemon got nerfed, moves were snapped from movepools (like Scald being restricted to Volcanion, Knock Off removed from Bisharp/Weavile), non-box legends and the future pseudos getting restricted to 570 BST, and most notably,

Zamazenta, Zacian, Zamazenta-C and Zacian-C were heavily nerfed. Intrepid Sword and Dauntless Shield proc once per battle, and Zamazenta-C's stats were lowered to 92/120/140/80/140/128. It gained Body Press but lost Behemoth Bash, as Dynamax is not in the game.

Possibly worse than Melmetal now!

Kind of wish we had some nice pastebins to properly analyze everything, but GF's day one patch also changes the BSTs of the new mons again. Likely everything will be fluid until the official launch.

To the game's credit, I think the leaked story is amazing, even if the artwork and designs are below-average. Be prepared for something like BW2 or SM rather than SWSH 2.0.

whenever I get around to playing these I'd probably prefer Scarlet based off the version exclusives

that said, something that is NOT version exclusive is Maushold, everyone seems to be going nuts over it and honestly... I kind of agree lol it's awesome

I don't like Maushold. Its design and competitive power scream low effort to me.

I can retroactively accept some designs like Miraidon, Koraidon and the Paradox mons due to the story...but not stuff like Mausold or Cetitan.

Here's me experimenting with a terrible team. I don't know how to build 'em in this new meta and it's chaotic anyway due to the Paradox mons and Protosynthesis.

I'll say though that Baxcaliber is basically KB 2.0, may be even better due to the much more useful ability and better physical movepool.

Bad: I know some random dude talking at a laptop camera with a montone voice is so 2007.

Reasons are lack of a powerful desktop, camera, mic, editing software. IRL reasons are lack of time due to health issues, needing to focus on next step or career, issues with friends and loved ones including recent deaths, my own daily health issues that take up half of the day, and also focusing on losing weight, publishing/writing medical memoir, other side-projects.

It could financially alone take two years to make better videos, at the very least, several months, with time that I don't have. At the very least the plan is to start 2023 with videos like TheChornick, who shows picture stills with background music. Pardon the appearances.

This took up over 2 hours of my time, so I hope everyone enjoys.
