This is a disaster.
I want so many Pokemon it's going to be impossible to keep it to a team of 6. It's a good problem to have but man. I may need to buy both games. Which would be my first time doing that since Gen 3.

Well I'm at least happy there's so much Pokédex information available now on all the Pokémon I can at least make sensible choices for Pokémon to go with Rowlet.
And with that said, I'm not sure how many Alola mon will really become staple on my team. Looking at the stats and stuff that Serebii has now, a lot of look pretty 'meh' in terms of basically everything. If I have to make a team of 6 Alola mon though I'll end up with these: Decidueye Lycanroc Golisopod Salazzle Rimbombee last one is a bit of a toss up, between Tsareena, Mudsdale and Kommo-o (dude, where the fuck are your Fighting moves!?) Also, may I point out that Rimbombee, for how cute (and weak) it looks, really is surprisingly good when you look at it o_O Imho a lot better than Vikavolt, which is not what I expected on looks alone.

Alright. I have no clue how natures or Abilities will be determined when transferring from Gen I to Gen VII, but at the moment, I'm catching a bunch of Machamp in Blue (Mew glitch- saves me the trouble of evolving them), and I'm gonna teach them all Fissure, and I'll bring them in through Bank when the update happens. Hopefully one of them will have a suitable nature and No Guard. IVs aren't gonna be a problem, thanks to Hyper Training.
Oh, yeah, final decision on my Moon team; Incineroar, Lycanroc (Midnight), Toxapex, Salazzle, Golisopod, Mimikyu. |

I'm definitely buying both games because GameFreak has essentially brainwashed me into handing them at least a tithes worth of my hard earned income on a regular basis.

Went to Walmart to get the games, 45 minutes later the manager comes out and says "Sorry but we can't find them anywhere. This happens more than I like to admit."
Guess I'm not playing tonight after all. |

And now that the games are out and whatnot, guess I'll post up one final Moon Team Update- might as well post it here, seeing as I'm now officially three Generations behind and catching back up would take priority!
Decidueye (Grass/Ghost) Ariados (Bug/Poison) A. Raichu (Electric/Psychic) Wishiwashi (Water) Lycanroc MN (Rock) Mimikyu (Ghost/ Fairy) ...This is of course relying on the assumption that I get Moon, which isn't exactly guaranteed. So, I have come up with a slightly different team in case I wind up getting Sun instead: Decidueye (Grass/Ghost) Ariados (Bug/Poison) A. Raichu (Electric/Psychic) Wishiwashi (Water) A. Ninetales (Ice/Fairy) A. Marowak (Fire/Ghost) Again, I will say this generation has a lot of great new 'mon, and both teams have some sacrifices made due to the way I personally handle type overlap. But hey, at least we no longer have to deal with HM shenanigans, huh? |

Well, I did it, ordered Pokémon Sun and a 3DS to go with it, Solgaleo and Lunala edition cause why the f not.
And knowing myself all my team planning will go out of the window as soon as I start the game. I usually end up catching the first 6 different Pokémon I run into and typically 4 or 5 out of those make it all the way to the Champion :x Unless of course it's possibly for my planned team to be among the first 6 species encountered, in which case: please do tell me XD

I was fighting myself on not picking my copy of Moon last night. Thankfully my rationality won over my impatience, and I picked it up just now. I haven't totally looked into new Pokemon, or who appears where, so I don't really know who I want yet. I know I want an Alolan Vulpix because of this.
Actually I probably should look into what Pokemon are in this game and where they appear. It's not like me to know so little before getting a new game! |

Considering its been one of my favourite designs ever since its TCG Art leaked like two months ago, can someone explain howexactly you're supposed to get Mareanie?
But yeah, I'm taking Moon, and I'll be using the following team: Decidueye Ribombee Toxapex Salazzle Vikavolt Minior I may also pick up Sun, though I'm a bit conflicted on my team there. Probably something like Primarina Araquanid Shiinotic Palossand Crabominable Comfey |

Fish in Melemele Sea, but here's the thng- Mareanie can't be fished up directly. Instead, you fish for a Corsola and get it to call for help. Most of the time it'll summon other Corsola, but there's a chance its cries for help will attract a Mareanie instead. Pretty low chance, too- either that or I was just extremely unlucky. But yeah, I just caught a Mareanie myself.

Yeah, that's what I meant.
I heard apparently Corsola will always call a Corsola first and subsequent calls have a chance to get a Mareanie, but how does the Call thing work anyway? |

Wild Pokémon have a chance to call for help every turn. It seems to be a better chance the more they're weakened, and using an Adrenaline Orb in the battle ups the chances as well. Pokémon called this way apparently have better chances to have good IVs, have their Hidden Ability, or even be Shiny, though I've yet to find a Shiny in Moon.

Oh, alright then.
Thanks for that. Love how they made it ridicukously hard to get >_> Also I still think it's hilarious just how good Ribombee is while Vikavolt's poor Speed leaves it in the dust. |

I'm no fan of Mareanie's rarity, but the way you have to get it, I gotta admit, I really like it. It's like, Mareanie are too smart to be hooked by a Fishing Rod- you have to use Corsola, its favorite food, as bait.

Figures that ya would've gone after it! I had a 'final reaction' post started earlier in the week, but ultimately decided not to finish it due to the fact that probably went a touch too far into spoiler territory. Me segment on mareanie (or rather, toxapex) specifically referred to you in the beginning and came with a warning to keep it away from lilblue- we wouldn't want to lose one of our great artists, now would we?
