So LTTP: Metal Gear Solid 2

In 2006 I went through Metal Gear Solid completely for the first time ever. Now towards the end of 2007 it is MGS2's turn. I started this the other night and am only a few hours in (even more if you count the amount of time it took to read through those three "books" under the Special menu).

Geeeez I suck at first person views but why must ya hold R1 to stay in that view? Why couldn't it have been a click in/click out setup? Holding three shoulder buttons to be in first person and duck/standup is a real pain.... especially since I'm playing it on the PS3 and boy do I hate the Sixaxis's L2/R2 buttons. Well I guess they're triggers now. If they were buttons it wouldn't be a problem I think.

ummmm. Anyway the game looks great fullscreen upscaled and all. I'm not a very good Snake cause I got caught and shotup and accidentally sank the tanker a few times. x.x; No real screwups as Raiden so far, but then I'm really not very far yet. What's with the hate for him anyhow? He seems nice enough so far. Does he become annoying later in the game or are people just upset that he's cute instead of rugged like Snake?

Hope ta finish this before years end so that next year I could maybe get into MGS3!

Most people hate Raiden because Snake was so manly, battle hardened, and all around badass while Raiden is so feminine, naive, and practically the opposite of Snake.

Additionally, people worship Snake, so seeing the spotlight on someone on some wussy doesn't help.

I don't have any problems with Raiden. He really isn't a wuss at all. In the Japanese version, he also has a much more manly voice.

Watch out, the game starts to get a little mind-fucky toward the end.

I dunno about Snake ever being feminine lol but was he battle-hardened in his first game/mission? I guess that would be MGS3 but I'm not there yet! I guess Raiden was kinda wussy sounding when he was forced into disarming the C4's but he bounced right back IMO.

I'll keep that in mind! Right now I should be about halfway through.

Metal Gear Solid is not the first game with Solid Snake. Metal Gear is the first game with Snake from the NES days and I think there were 4 Metal Gear games. Anyways, during Metal Gear Solid, they bring Snake out of retirement. The story makes it very apparent that this isn't his first mission and he's survived quite a lot.

And MGS3 is pretty annoying. I never played more than an hour of it because it was so stupid.

MGS3 is awesome. It is my favorite MGS game, by far. It's just plain more fun to play, period. And the boss battles with The End and The Sorrow? Top-notch shit there.
