Max Raid Boss Metang ★★★ Health Gauge: 36% Shields Up: NA Status: +1 Sp.Def, +1 Atk, + 1 Def, +1 Sp.Def Raid Boss Attack Summary: Attack 1: Max Ooze (90BP) Sneaze, Houndour: 210 HPAttack 2: Rock Slide (75 BP) Sneaze, Houndour: 86 HP Raid Challengers:
With Sandygast down for the count, a cheer manages to break through the final shield. This gives the raiders the opportunity to open up and they begin to wear down the Raid Boss's remaining strength with a super effective barrage. Metang shows no signs of holding back. A torrent of sludge erupts from beneath Houndour as Metang uses the Max Ooze to boost another of its stats. It then sends a rolling wave of rocks over the raiding party, damaging everyone with a Rock Slide. Dynamax Initiative: Median Dia, Sandygast

It would seem that now, more than ever, would be a terrible time to cause some friendly fire. In that case, I'll just hit 'em with Sand Tomb (35 BP) and hope it doesn't use EQ!

Max Raid Boss Metang ★★★ Health Gauge: 19% Shields Up: NA Status: +1 Sp.Def, +2 Atk, + 1 Def, +1 Sp.Atk, Sand Tomb (1) Raid Boss Attack Summary: Attack 1: Max Knuckle (90BP) Median Dia, Sandygast: 300 HPAttack 2: Meteor Mash (90 BP) Connor, Pawniard: 47 HP Raid Challengers:
Deciding to go for a quick finish, the raiders continue to punish the Raid Boss. A Sand Tomb from Sandygast helps add some extra damage, but the Metang isn't down yet. Still fighting furiously, Metang drops another Max Knuckle. Fortunately for the raiders, it crashes into Sandygast who has no issues absorbing the blow, being immune. Denied its attack boost, Metang lashes out with a Meteor Mash, smashing Pawniard into the hard earth and luckily gaining the attack boost it had missed out on. Dynamax Initiative: Median Dia, Sandygast

Well, we're still at full, so there's 0 point in not doing a spot of extra chip damage now. Sand Tomb (35 BP) oughta do the trick!

Everything was falling apart. The barrage of rocks earlier really smarted, and now the Metang was even stronger. They were doomed, why had Alex chosen him to fight such a large and fearsome opponent? How would he manage? Could he survive? The psychic pokemon began to panic, looking at the battered allies, looking at the crimson eyes of the steel type...
Peering at Alex, he quickly turned away, fearful. What if he wasn't impressed? He was a good butler, but that was it. He could make good tea, helped around the numerous bases they had, and was more than happy to serve a peaceful life. Battle wasn't his thing, but then he had been picked for this specifically because he had to learn. The master had told him that things were changing, and everyone had to have their part to play in it. Yet, he was in a dangerous position. What if the boss struck him? He'd be laid flat for certain! What were his comrades doing? The Houndour was attacking, no! The Sandygast too! The Pawniard was trying to defend itself, and- Protect. Vog knew that the barrier could stop any assault, and in a hurry he threw up the shimmering shield, arms out and eyes squeezed shut, straining to keep it up... --- Opting to Protect (0 BP) this round to hopefully avoid a wipe. Max Raid Boss Metang ★★★ Health Gauge: 11% Shields Up: NA Status: +1 Sp.Def, +2 Atk, + 1 Def, +1 Sp.Atk, Sand Tomb (2) Raid Boss Attack Summary: Attack 1: Max Phantasm (130BP) Median Dia, Sandygast: 85 HPAttack 2: Meteor Mash (90 BP) Raves, Drowzee: 117 HP Raid Challengers:
Realising they're in a precarious position, the raiders quickly adapt and take a more defensive strategy. Sandygast and Houndour continue to attack, chipping away at the Raid Boss's health while Drowzee and Pawniard seek to Protect themselves from the inevitable backlash. Sandygast is certainly feeling targeted at this point, once again finding itself the target of the Raid Boss's Max Move! She was immune to the last attack though, this one she was weak to! The sand castle is almost obliterated by the Max Phantasm, which also decreases the defence of the other raiders. The defensive strategy pays off though as Metang's Meteor Mash clashes against Drowzee's protective barrier, failing to cause any harm! Dynamax Initiative: Median Dia, Sandygast

CRUNCH!
The sudden impact jostled the Drowzee's eyes open, and in his vision he could see the weary Metang's claw stopped by the wall of energy, the steel type not amused but wide open. He was weakened, yes, but the raid boss was even more so, and it was at this point that Vog knew it was do or die. Alex gave a cheer, pumping his fleshy fist into the air and urging the psychic pokemon onwards, and onwards he was urged. Charging up another Shadow Ball, Vog was still concerned, what if he missed? No. No more concerns, no more worries. It's a big target, throw the attack at it, and your allies can help finish the job. No more fear, this fight was won. He smiled, despite the pain, despite the fatigue, for he felt inwardly energized... --- Bring it home, boys. Shadow Ball (80 BP). Last edited by Raves; 06-25-2020 at 05:47 PM. |

Max Raid Boss Metang ★★★ Health Gauge: 0% Shields Up: NA Status: KO'd With the Raid Boss within KO range, the raiders launch their final attacks, the super effective barrage proves enough to put the Metang to rest. It lets out a mighty cry as it is forced to release the Dynamax energy it had absorbed before quickly retreating deeper into the den. The raiders emerge from the den, greeted by cheers from the other members of the Neoknight gym. Gym Leader Jared hands out the rewards, once again relieved that the knights were quick to answer his call. For their efforts in defeating the Dynamax Raid Boss Metang, the trainers are awarded the following: 20 Watts 1x TR Zen Headbutt 2x Barbiri Berries 1x Payapa Berry +3 Levels to participating Pokemon lv.30 and above, +6 levels to participating Pokemon below lv.30 [+3 Rare Candies if Pokemon is lv.100] |

Before he could comprehend what was going on, he instinctively reached down and picked up what appeared to be an old discarded coin of some sort, and held it in his hand, staring at it as he suddenly became engulfed in light, felt himself growing...and once where a Drowzee stood, a rather dignified figure was now there, white tuft of fur around the neck, long drooping nose shortened yet still pronounced, and ears now considerably pointed. "Look at you now Vog, that's the gentleman I knew was there!" Alex beamed, taking the Hypno in a hug, which the psychic pokemon reciprocated, before breaking it up after a moment or two. "You've been worried about things for a while, and I felt a good stress relief session like this would help calm you down. Not to mention you're bigger now, so you won't need to worry about having to get the steps for those higher cupboards. C'mon, let's head off back to camp. Apparently Lapis has been talking to the other guys and thinks she's found a good spot for us to get a new solid base built up, one more permanent and suitable for our needs." The Hypno nodded, warm smile back in his face, and looking at his coin, finding it now on a piece of sturdy string, flipped it around and into his palm with a satisfying click in his step. --- Collecting the above goods, and confirming Drowzee gains 6 levels from 25 to 31, and evolving him into Hypno. *Vog learned Wake-up Slap, Nasty Plot, Nightmare, Future Sight and Switcheroo!!* |
