Lil' Bluey Two heads are better than one... Or not.

Jessica sighed as Coco and Puff seemed to stumble right out of the starting gate, their squabble soon leading to a sudden nasty shock by a sneaky little Pachirisu. She winced as she watched the bird receive the brunt of damage compared to the Stunfisk in first who had also been stupefied. Coco had laughed at his misery before, but certainly wasn't smiling now as she sorely shook the sharp static from her wings, witnessing even a squat Sandile and tottering Gothita pass them by until they were in dead last. Wailing in disappointment, she turned on her sister to berate her for slowing them down, while Puff shrank deeper into down. Jessica quickly called out to try and interrupt their argument and get the two back on track.

"Don't worry, guys! You can still catch up! You just have to work together! Try using your QUICK ATTACK to get ahead!"

-

Picking numbers 2, 2, & 2 again. Attacking Kairne's Gothita with QUICK ATTACK on the first turn.

Just a note for everyone involved, I am out of town and won't get to update this until tomorrow night at the earliest. I have all the rolls done, so it is just a matter of writing a little flavor text when I do get home again. So please just be patient and I will have this updated on Wednesday.

Thanks!

And We're Back!

Round 4 results
Tyoyo and Neville: 6 meters (-2 for being Thundershocked for a total of 4)
Sneasel and Marissa: 2 meters
Talon and Misdrevous: 10 meters
Kaisap and Elmira: 10 meters
Itzatrap and Judis: 2 meters
Kairne and Baudelaire: 1 meters (-2 for being Attacked for a total of -1 plus Thundershocked at beginning of next round)
Lilblue and Coco Puff: 2 meters (-2 for being Thundershocked plus -1 for Attack for a total of -1 Plus Thundershocked at beginning of next round )

Neville flops forward a few meters and stops for a moment to shake off the Thundershock he had received only to see Misdreavous float by. The ghost, having seen an opening, quickly zips past the little flopper. Elmira also gets a little burst of speed in hopes of jumping out in front of the one who had given her so much trouble right out of the gate. Ironically, Marissa finds herself a little spooked by the way Neville flailed after being hit by the electric blast from the Electrike causing her to slow down just enough to let Misdreavous and Elmira pass her by. Judis, meanwhile pauses slightly, not from the action ahead of him, but from the action behind him. Coco Puff Quickly Attacks Baudelaire in such a way that both pokemon fall backward only to find a little Pachirisu waiting for them. Before either one can make a move electricity begins coursing through their bodies from the shocking attack of the electric squirrel.

Stats
Talon and Misdreavous: 26 meters (24 meters to Raikou. 74 meters to finish)
Tyoyo and Neville: 24 meters (26 meters to Raikou statue. 76 meters to finish)
Kaisap and Elmira: 23 meters (27 meters to Raikou. 77 meters to finish)
Sneasel and Marissa: 18 meters (32 meters to Raikou. 82 meters to finish)
Itzatrap and Judis: 13 meters (37 meters to Raikou. 87 meters to finish)
Kairne and Baudelaire: 10 meters (40 meters to Raikou. 90 meters to finish)
Lilblue and Coco Puff: 10 meters (40 meters to Raikou. 90 meters to finish)

Kairne and Baudelaire: 5 meters (-2 for being Thundershocked for a total of 3)
Lilblue and Coco Puff: 2 meters (-2 for being Thundershocked for a total of 0 plus Thundershocked for beginning of next round)

With an impressive set of bounces Neville quickly recovers from his shocking experience and once more reclaims the lead. It is difficult to tell if Misdreavous slowed down because she felt secure in her lead or if her little burst of speed was more tiring than anticipated. One thing is for sure, she now knows that she can't just assume once she has a lead, she will be able to relax and coast to victory. Marissa manages to work her way around Elmira and begins to start closing the gap on the leaders. Once more the ghosts seem to have found a way to stay on the pace leaving the question of will they have enough left on the final leg to win? Elmira continues to find herself nicely in the middle of the pack. Her slow start now merely a memory as she tries to keep pace with those ahead of her while Judis continues to close the gap impressively between himself and the others leaving the doduo and the gothita well behind. Speaking of that pair, Baudelaire manages to shrug off the electrical attack and get himself back on track knowing he still has a long way to go to catch up. CocoPuff, however, isn't that lucky. It seems that the Pachirisu has something against the bird as another blast of lightning keeps the poor bird(s) in their place.

Stats
Tyoyo and Neville: 33 meters (17 meters to Raikou statue. 67 meters to finish)
Talon and Misdreavous: 28 meters (22 meters to Raikou. 72 meters to finish)
Sneasel and Marissa: 27 meters (23 meters to Raikou. 73 meters to finish)

4 meters
Kairne and Baudelaire: 5 meters (Thundershocked at beginning of next round)
Lilblue and Coco Puff: 5 meters (-2 for being Thundershocked for a total of 3)

Neville continues setting a quick pace and maintains his lead. Who would have ever thought such an awkward pokemon would be able to pull such an upset off over pokemon that seemed so much quicker than it? Not this announcer. Meanwhile the two ghosts, Misdreavous and Marissa continue to slowly close the gap between themselves and Neville. Neither one giving up their position. Elmira and Judis seem to fall off the pace slightly. Whether that is due to it's speed or for saving themselves up as stalkers remains to be seen. Regardless, Elmira needs to pay better attention as an innocent looking sheep has a shocking surprise for her. And not a good one. Baudelaire finally seems to have gotten himself back on track and is working hard to catch up to the others, when perhaps his attention is lost on Elmiras's misfortune. I say perhaps, because it is unknown how he could have missed the Electrike next him with it's own shocking surprise. Still, he does seem to be better off than Coco Puff who somehow has managed to get past that pain of a squirrel and find some legs. Shaky legs still from all the electrical attacks, but legs nonetheless. One can only wonder if it Coco Puff has enough inside to make a heroic comeback and win the race, or if the poor start has doomed her.

Stats
Tyoyo and Neville: 41 meters (9 meters to Raikou statue. 59 meters to finish)
Talon and Misdreavous: 38 meters (12 meters to Raikou. 62 meters to finish)

Please post numbers for the next 3 rounds. Also if you are within 30 meters of the Raikou Statue, you should post whatever type of attack you plan to use on it in order to get a Thunderstone. Finally, there is no reason not to RP if you feel like it. It takes me a while to do 3 rounds, so don't feel like you are rushed to get your number choices in. Whether you RP or not is up to you. It won't have any effect on the race, but it might lead to more enjoyment for yourself as you cheer your partner on to victory. Good luck on the next round everyone!

The Raikou Race was beginning to look far more intense than Noriko had originally thought; the infamous Neville had been a pain in Elmira's butt from the start, and the rest of the racers moved surprisingly fast. Kitty started meowling encouragingly, trying to cheer her friend to victory. Before Noriko even noticed, Kek the Cacnea had gotten out of his Pokéball and started cheering to the best of his capabilities as well. It certainly looked like Elmira had become a sort-of big sister among Noriko's Pokémon - all the more reason for the feline to bring back the prize in the end!

"Elmira, keep going! The race has only just begun! If you can reach it, hit that panel with Spark, we've got no time for other attack types!"

Choosing numbers 1, 1 and 3
for this round. Attacking Raikou's panel with Spark if Elmira can reach it.

Lil' Bluey How electrifying!

Jessica cringed as poor Coco Puff continued to receive shock after shock, leaving them distressed and literally in the others' dust. Mentally the girl apologized, for in her own haste to see the two succeed she had failed to calculate the consequences of quickening callously. While it had knocked one of their competitors back, it had caused the Doduo double the pain as well. She sighed, supposing such was karma. She should’ve just told them to stay at a steady pace, though it appeared too late for that now. …Or perhaps not, as Coco Puff managed to eventually rise to their feet, albeit unstable. Their legs twisted together, wobbling like jelly and leaning precariously to Puff’s side before straightening. Pleased and relieved that her Pokémon weren’t completely giving up hope, she dropped her hand from their Ball, still remaining ready to pull them out at any point if necessary.

However, she might’ve underestimated one’s level of discouragement – and subsequent distraction. Noticing how far behind they were, Coco burst into genuine tears. This was not the glorious victory she had imagined and worked so hard for at all. Seeing her sister so upset, Puff gingerly placed her head underneath her twin’s chin for comfort. Coco bristled and pushed her away though – partly from lingering blame, but moreover refusal to be treated like a baby. Unfortunately, rubbing down against each other unfortunately produced another light snap of static. Coco shook it off briskly, but Puff reeled in a daze. The repeated jolts were beginning to take their toll on her slightly weaker system. Coco apologized and reached out to steady her sister. Not knowing who to direct her rage to any longer, she turned on the persistent Pachirisu harassing them and hissed, prepared to furiously PECK the squirrel’s fur off so it wouldn’t bother them anymore. Even if she couldn’t find the electric pouches to disable them, some naked coarse patches would be embarrassing enough. Let’s see how the clever little critter who kept cruelly picking on them for some reason liked a coat with missing hair. A plucked pattern in the shape of an L on its forehead would surely be bound to put the bully in its place.

Puff stretched out her neck to stop her sister though, and began speaking mildly to the mouse despite her throbbing headache, asking if it would please be so kind as to let them pass. If they had done something to offend Pachirisu, they were very sorry. Right, sis? She purposefully bowed their body so far deep that Coco was practically forced to bend down as well. Coco rolled her eyes but lowered beside her sibling, who could still sense a storm brewing inside the former’s mind, combining with the electricity coursing through their nerves. She shuffled nervously, knowing what the other was thinking and wanting no part of it. After what just occurred it seemed clear to her that sabotage was a bad, bad idea, plus considering how little practice they had with such a new technique, who knew if they could even control it. Coco was blind with fury though, and wouldn’t listen to either her sister’s or her trainer’s reasoning. She would catch up and make the others pay dearly for her humiliation and (sister’s) suffering with their pride, even if it cost her own!

Picking numbers 2, 2, & 2 again. Attacking the closest competitor that’s ahead with TORNATOW WHIRLWIND on the second turn.

We're coming round to the halfway point...

Round 7 Results
Tyoyo and Neville: 6 meters
Sneasel and Marissa: 7 meters
Talon and Misdrevous: 1 meter
Kaisap and Elmira: 6 meters (-2 for being Thundershocked for a total of 4)
Itzatrap and Judis: 6 meters
Kairne and Baudelaire: 2 meters (-2 for being Thundershocked for a total of 0 plus Thundershocked for beginning of next round)
Lilblue and Coco Puff: 10 meters

Neville continues to lead the way as the halfway point and consequently, the Raikou statue get closer. Marissa slowly starts to pull away from Misdreavous and finds herself solidly in second place. For some unexplained reason, Misdreavous has slowed down considerably. Perhaps she is tired, but that seems unlikely at this point in the race. No matter what, she will need to pick up the pace if she plans to win. Elmira manages to weather the electric attack of the Mareep as well as can be expected. The cheering on from Noriko, Kitty, and eventually Kek proved to be inspirational enough to get Elmira solely focused on not letting down her companions. Like Elmira, Judis seems to be making quite the recovery after a poor start to the race. With the electric lion getting slowed down by Mareep, Judis finds the gap between himself and fourth place growing ever smaller. If he keeps up this pace he could easily find himself in a position to win the race. Baudelaire's misfortune continues as the attack of the Electrike takes more out of him than expected freezing him in place long enough for the very same Electrike blasts him again. Although the temptation to Peck out an ” L” on a certain Pachirisu couldn't be denied, Coco Puff finds the misfortune of Baudelaire to her advantage and quickly zips past the psychic rather than concentrate on the electric squirrel. It seems that the apology to Pachirisu and Coco's determination to regain the glory she sought were the perfect combination as the bird finally finds herself out of the basement so to speak.

Stats
Tyoyo and Neville: 47 meters (3 meters to Raikou statue. 53 meters to finish)
Sneasel and Marissa: 44 meters (6 meters to Raikou. 56 meters to finish)
Talon and Misdreavous: 39 meters (11 meters to Raikou. 61 meters to finish)
Kaisap and Elmira: 34 meters (16 meters to Raikou. 66 meters to finish)
Itzatrap and Judis: 32 meters (18 meters to Raikou. 68 meters to finish)
Lilblue and Coco Puff: 23 meters (27 meters to Raikou. 77 meters to finish)
Kairne and Baudelaire: 20 meters (30 meters to Raikou. 80 meters to finish)

Round 8 Results
Tyoyo and Neville: 8 meters (-1 for Attack on Baudelaire for a total of 7, Attack missed due to not being able to see who he is attacking)
Sneasel and Marissa: 4 meters
Talon and Misdrevous: 2 meters
Kaisap and Elmira: 6 meters
Itzatrap and Judis: 10 meters
Kairne and Baudelaire: 6 meters (-2 for being Thundershocked for a total of 4)
Lilblue and Coco Puff: 1 meter (-1 for Attacking Misdreavous for a total of 5, Attack missed due to not being able to see who he is attacking)

Neville quickly reaches the Raikou statue, putting him squarely in the lead when he turns around and hops back a meter in order to execute the attack his trainer had issued. Unfortunately, Neville couldn't see his intended target and sent a blue ball of energy back toward the other racers who all managed to avoid the misguided attack as it bounced off a few walls before harmlessly exploding bringing a scowl to some of the groundskeepers who were now going to have to repaint that particular part of the track. With the stunfisk distarcted, Marissa soon finds herself nearly caught up to her as the Raikou statue looms large ahead of her. Misdreavous continues her slow down and soon finds a speedy little crocodile race past her at quite the quick pace. Judis, has found something of a drive to make his trainer proud not only overcoming Elmira, but also Misdreavous to get into third place. Elmira also manages to catch up to Misdreavous, and while she was passed up by a land lizard, she finds some satisfaction in the fact that she has improved her lot since the stunfisk threw off her plans right from the get go. Baudelaire's bad luck causes Coco Puff to nearly stop in her tracks. Well, more Puff than Coco. She knew as well as anyone how terrible it felt to get zapped over and over again by these figurative electric potholes of pokemon on the track. Coco on the other head decided to take a shot at slowing down the competition that she thought she caught a glimpse of rounding a corner ahead. She quickly whips up a whirlwind and sends it ahead, however the curves in the track make it impossible to see who she is attacking and the funnel eventually dissipates before hitting a target. Fortunately, Baudelaire somehow manages to finally get away from Electrike and get back into the race nearly catching Coco Puff in the process.

Stats
Tyoyo and Neville: 49 meters (1 meters to Raikou statue. 51 meters to finish)
Sneasel and Marissa: 48 meters (2 meters to Raikou. 52 meters to finish)
Itzatrap and Judis: 42 meters (8 meters to Raikou. 58 meters to finish)
Talon and Misdreavous: 39 meters (11 meters to Raikou. 61 meters to finish)
Kaisap and Elmira: 39 meters (11 meters to Raikou. 61 meters to finish)
Lilblue and Coco Puff: 23 meters (27 meters to Raikou. 77 meters to finish)
Kairne and Baudelaire: 22 meters (28 meters to Raikou. 78 meters to finish)

Note: Because Neville only had to move one space before he stopped despite having the RNG to move a total of 8, he will have moved there before making his attack which cost him his space due to the penalty involved in attacking another player. Movement is calculated first, then penalties are distributed. The penalty is a guaranteed loss of 1 space for attacking another player regardless of how far you went or could have went. As for the attacks in this round missing, I explained in the questions Talon asked about how if you can't see your opponent, you will probably miss when attacking. So hopefully that explains things.

Talon and Misdrevous: 2 meters
Kaisap and Elmira: 6 meters
Itzatrap and Judis:
2 meters
Kairne and Baudelaire: 10 meters
Lilblue and Coco Puff: 10 meters

Neville looks dumbfounded about how he could have made his attack work better when he realizes he is still in a race. Turning around, the stunfisk hops up to the first of three panels beneath the Raikou Statue. Marissa is not far behind as she takes the second panel finally having caught up to the lead. Elmira continues to draw on the encouragement of her companions. Knowing that Kek actually jumped out of his pokeball to support her gives her the extra little push she needs to push past the sandile that had surprisingly ran past her just a few moments before. Judis slows down after his mini sprint into third place only to see Elmira pass him up. Most likely not quite what the little croc had in mind when he decided to slow down a bit to catch his breath. Misdreavous inexplicably continues to move at a snail's pace no finding herself falling well behind the others who seem to be only getting faster. Somehow, Coco Puff's short pause for Baudelaire seems to inspire both the bird(s) and the psychic to race ahead at good speed. They weren't out of this race yet as the sight of Misdreavous just ahead of them both goes to prove that this is still anyone's race.

Stats
Tyoyo and Neville: 50 meters (0 meters to Raikou statue. 50 meters to finish)
Sneasel and Marissa: 50 meters (0 meters to Raikou. 50 meters to finish)
Kaisap and Elmira: 45 meters (5 meters to Raikou. 55 meters to finish)

Alright, once again everyone should post what attack they plan to use on the panels beneath the Raikou Statue. Once again, the attack for a Thunderstone will take one turn. So Tyoyo and Sneezy only have to give me numbers for rounds eleven and twelve. Unless, one of them wants to leave the statue and attack someone before getting a Thunderstone. We are just approaching the halfway point and this race is getting closer all the time. I have also decided that I might have a prize or two for the second and third place winners, so even if you fall behind, don't feel like you are won't get anything out of it. I should be able to post results for the next three rounds much quicker than this set. I apologize again for the delay.

Lil' Bluey we hear Thunder and we see lightening we alSo see rain

While Puff's pleasantries allowed the two to finally pass the Pachirisu (receiving reluctant congratulations from Coco in the process), her kindness caused them to pause again upon witnessing Baudelaire being shocked by an electric sheep. Backtracking a bit, she leaned down to ask if the little Gothita was okay, at which Coco scowled, completely reclaiming the respect she afforded earlier. Not wanting to waste any more time, she tried to crane her neck to see round the bend, whipping her one wing(?) to form a tiny tornatow in order to catch the next contestant before it was too late. Unfortunately, without proper control and balance from both sides, the unruly wind refused to turn its trajectory and ran straight off the course. Puff shook her head to indicate "I told you so", making Coco fume further and snap back it was the other's fault she couldn't perceive and/or failed to hit the target. In her rage, she kicked up a cloud of dirt towards Baudelaire, having zero intention of helping their opponent, and started stalking off ahead, dragging her sister along with her. Puff looked back apologetically, but went along with her twin's whim to avoid another argument. Jess sighed, once again disappointed in the two's bickering, wondering just when Coco would learn her lesson.

-

2, 2, & 2. Attacking Baudelaire with MUD-SLAP on the first turn. If the panels are within sight/reach, use WHIRLWIND and/or keep PECKing as appropriate until the Thunderstone drops.

Kek was doing his best in the audience to perform a cheering dance - only to be stopped by Noriko after a few too many yelps from fellow viewers getting stung with the little cactus' needles. Elmira still wasn't doing half-bad, fast approaching the halfway point of the race. Feeling in her bones that Elmira had a chance to reach the statue soon, Noriko repeated her command: "Elmira, hit that panel with Spark once you reach it! Let's catch up!" Kitty swung her tail back and forth, careful not to create a Rain Dance while cheering her big sis on.

(Picking numbers 3, 2, and 6. If statue's panel is reached, hit it with Spark.)

Zap Cannon the statue. 4 and 9 for turns 11 and 12. Dark Pulse Stunfisk on turn 11.

Geeeeeez! ^^; I've been working on this RP reply, but it's still not quite ready. Guess I'll have to post it next time ... along with the RP part for this round.

As for my next set of numbers, let's go with 6, 3, 9. I will use Thunderbolt on the Raikou Statue should I reach it this turn.

2, 4, 6! Judis! Use Thunder Fang on the statue when/if you make it!

Attention: Kaisap, Itzatrap and Talon.

I have decided that in case of a tie between the three of you getting to the Raqikou statue on the first turn that we will use random chance to see who arrives first. Below are three cards. Based on current distance from the statue, Kaisap will pick one first. Then Itzatrap will pick one and Talon will have the final card. These cards will determine the order of who gets to the final panel first should all of you cover enough distance on the first turn.
