Good luck phoopes, though you won't need it. Thanks for reffing Cibbir.

Spoiler: show

Level 2 Male Haunter

Level 1 Male Pikachu
Even before joining the squad, the rodent has always been interested in shooting things. He regularly practices his aim, which has become extremely precise after having been honed for so much time. This was not always so, however. One day, Pikachu's homeland held a competition between Electric Types; the one with the most precise aim, and best control over their electricity was to be crowned the victor. Pikachu was not noteworthy or famous, and he wanted to make a name for himself. He wanted to prove that he was just as competent at aiming as any other Electric Type. He soon learned that besides aiming, the competition also involved concentration of power.
Pikachu decides to join in order to prove his mettle. He practiced a lot, knowing that every bit of experience can make a big difference. At last, the day itself came for him to put his training into play. He was met with extreme competition, all the Electric Types being well prepared. However, Pikachu in particular was able to concentrate his electricity into a new technique itself, which allowed him to hit the mark most accurately and forcefully. The nature of the move allowed it to pierce through almost any obstacles. After being declared the victor, and earning the respect of countless other Electric Types, Pikachu has now even incorporated the move into his battling style.
Special Attack: Static Snipe [EL]
Using heavy energy, the user shoots a narrow bolt of electricity towards the target. This bolt travels extremely fast and accurately. Due to its sheer momentum, it will easily pierce through Barrier, Light Screen and Reflect without losing power. This move deals significant damage. During his training, the wielder of this move forgot how to use Nasty Plot, Sweet Kiss and Thunder. He shall lose Hyper Beam and Giga Impact upon evolution, too.

Level 1 Male Combusken
Combusken, before joining the squad, used to live on Mt. Chimney of Hoenn, the volcanic location virtually devoid of humans. Only Pokemon adapted to the harsh environment could survive there. Life was harsh, but Combusken had grown used to it over time. Many plants did not grow around the area, and as such, he had to look for other means of nutrition. He appreciated the high temperatures, which were quite comfortable for a Fire Type like him, unlike what most other Types of Pokemon would feel. He was always on the look out for danger; in a location where boulders could fall at any time, and ambushes from other Pokemon were common, such caution was necessary.
However, the inhabitants of Mt. Chimney as a whole were endangered when Team Magma arrived, appearing to search for something. They did not tolerate the presence of wild Pokemon, ordering their own to attack any that they noticed. Combusken himself was attacked by a group of Team Magma members, who attempted to capture him due to how rare Combusken are. Barely escaping, he stumbled to a hot spring, exhausted and in great pain. However, a dip in the spring washed away his weariness, easing his pain at the same time. His mind cleared, Combusken realized that he had to find a way to scare away Team Magma, lest they caused great devastation.
Bravely walking up to them, despite knowing the risks involved, he fought Team Magma, fueled by his determination to protect his home. He was eventually surrounded by Pokemon, and a brief feeling of despair overwhelmed him. His will re-emerged, however, as he unleashed one of the wonders of the volcano open his enemies. Releasing a burst of extremely hot Water Type energy all around, he caused his opponents to cringe, who were unaccustomed to the heat of the volcano, much less it being coupled with water so hot. Admitting defeat, Team Magma was forced to retreat.
Special Attack: Scorching Spray [WA]
The user surrounds itself with a mix of Water and Fire Type energy, then unleashes a burst of it all around. The attack looks like lava, but is composed of energy, and inflicts considerable Water Type damage, with a 50% chance to Burn the target. This move uses up a considerable amount of Water Type energy and a light amount of Fire Type energy. The wielder of this move has the Water Type energy to use the move twice per match. Due to living up on Mt. Chimney, the wielder never learned how to use Focus Punch, Last Resort and Swagger. He shall lose Hyper Beam and Giga Impact upon evolution.

Level 1 Male Frogadier.
Over the course of its existence, the squad has traveled far and wide, to many different places. Over time, it has accumulated more members, and has grown as a team. On one occasion, it was travelling through a pass in a mountain range. While it was relatively suitable for travel, it still had a rough terrain, and extremely fast winds. The smaller Pokemon struggled to maintain their footing. Frogadier, however, was not lucky enough. A sudden, immensely forceful gust of wind took him by surprise, sending him plummeting. He managed to grab the side of the mountain in time, and managed to get a footing before he could fall to his death, but getting back to the squad was not an easy task. The wind was blowing in the opposite direction, battering him, the air feeling like knives slicing against his face.
Frogadier, however, was not one to give up. With great effort, he started climbing up. The wind seemed to strengthen in response, but the small Water Type was too persistent. Fighting against the might gusts, he started reaching back up. Over time, he gained speed, and the wind itself seemed to realize that his will was too strong to sway. The Frogadier appeared to have gained his respect, and almost miraculously, it started blowing from behind Froakie, aiding his ascent. Feeling the support and harnessing the power of the wind itself, he managed to race up the side of the mountain with his feet, leaving a streak of Flying Type energy behind him. The experience had left him with the eternal support of the wind.
Special Attack: Wind Strike [FL]
The user charges its body with Flying Type energy, then gets a sudden burst of speed, starting to spin around the opponent, leaving streaks of Flying Type energy behind. This energy soon forms a tornado around the victim, knocking lighter opponents around, and usually dealing considerable Flying Type damage. It will leave the user with a Speed boost. This move requires heavy Flying Type energy, and the user has enough Flying Type energy to use it twice per match. During the dangerous experience, Froakie forgot how to use Toxic, Water Sport, Round, and Echoed Voice and Blizzard.

Level 1 Female Snorunt.
Even as a Snorunt, the Ice Type dreamed of travelling all over the world. She had always been confined to the snowy part of the region, and desperately wanted to not what was outside. However, she was not very good at battling itself. She knew that if she attempted to wander out of familiar territory, her lack of knowledge would inevitably cause her to get caught by predating wild Pokemon, and she definitely did not want that. Furthermore, she knew that she would not be comfortable in higher temperatures, and these factors discouraged her from attempting to explore. She had heard stories about the rest of the world from travelers who passed through the area, but she wished to see for herself.
Eventually, she decided to go to the elders for advise. She met an Abomasnow, who, as usual, was extremely skilled at using Hail and summoning cold temperatures. With her advise, she trained extensively in the art of summoning such weather, determined to do so unless she mastered it enough to effortlessly do so. Eventually, she was able to passively produce snowstorms whenever she wanted, and had grown even superior to the Abomasnow himself at this, which extremely impressed the elders. Prepared, she wandered out to explore the rest of the world, where she eventually encountered the squad and joined it. With the squad members, she trained enough to raise her powers ever further.
Special Training: Icy Hell [IC]
Whenever the wielder of this signature is first send out, the weather, if applicable, turns to Hail for five rounds. This weather functions exactly like normal Hail, but the wielder of this ability is particularly good at hiding in this weather and seeing through it, like in its Species Characteristics with regards to snow. However, during the training, the wielder forgot how to use Spikes, Disable, Toxic, Double Team, Attract and Flash. The wielder is set to evolve in Froslass, and cannot evolve into Glalie while it has this signature. Upon evolution, the wielder shall be unable to use Destiny Bond and Snatch.

Level 1 Male Meowth.
The Normal Type has always been an... ambitious Pokemon. He wanted to achieve something noteworthy. Something that would make him known everywhere. Something that would make him feared and respected. However, he was faced with the truth that he was not really skilled at anything great. He was not a particularly good battler, and as a Meowth, he lacked the ferocity and prowess of a deadly Persian. He was not good at the Pokeathlon, either. He tried out his skill at many events and activities considered famous and popular. However, the results were never good. He wanted to get famous very fast. He refused to determine himself to work hard with a certain skill, and instead shifting between them faster than a Kecleon changes colour, aiming to find something... anything that will make him renown.
He eventually encountered a circus, and attempted to gain fame by participating in it. Being a last-minute addition, Meowth had not had a chance to prove whether he is indeed a good joker to the circus. Instead, he skipped straight to his performance. Once his turn came, Meowth started telling jokes. These jokes were extremely potent... in the wrong way. They were so terrible that everyone ran away, seeking refuge from the jokes. It was then that Meowth started to be known about and feared. To this date, his existence is a source of terror for countless. Eventually, Meowth has even incorporated his jokes into his battling style, much to the horror of others.
Special Attack: "PUNisher" [PS]
The user imbues significant Psychic Type energy into his speech, and tells an utterly, absolutely terrible joke. This joke, and the energy it contains, deals direct mental damage to the opponent. It will leave them disoriented, with stipulations similar to Psywave. Any Pokemon that can hear this joke takes significant Psychic Type damage, including allies. While developing this move, the wielder forgot how to use Last Resort, Hypnosis, Dream Eater and Nightmare.

Pikachu, I choose you.

The afternoon sun casts a pleasant temperature throughout the surroundings, the light spring breeze rustling through the surroundings. Darting down, up, left, right, the playful wisp darts through individual blades of grass, disturbing tiny droplets of dew which slowly trickle down the length of the green trees, each of them shuffling in unison as the gusting continues. The picturesque scene is quickly disturbed. Two lone figures, each little more than blackened silhouettes on the horizon, slowly begin to approach the tranquil podium. As they finally lock eyes, each flashes a simple grin, before taking their respective positions. Flourished motions produce two identical capsules, each looking as new as the other, and simple commands are called into the air.

The first Pokeball is sent spiraling into the air, the two toned container sending glaring rays of light prancing across the lush surface as it twirls higher. Reaching the apex of the climb, the seam of the ball ruptures, the halves separating widely to accommodate a dull thrum from the inner workings. Without warning, an exuberant rush of colour blasts forth, the blood crimson spilling down over the arena. Striking the ground, the roiling energy slowly takes a familiar form. Two pointed ears, jagged tail, reddened cheeks. Sporting the trademark chirp, Pikachu stumbles forwards, one ear bent in an endearing announcement. Realisation in his eyes, the opposing trainer calls upon his own bipedal champion, a Treecko going by the name of Gear bursting free from his amicable containment. A cocksure smile is adorned upon his face as both of his arms are raised into a combative position, the Grass- type determined to see a swift end to the foe before him.

Slowly meandering forwards, his beady eyes locked onto the form of Pikachu, Gear clicks his tongue against the roof of his mouth as he rises from all fours, his back straightening as he stands to attention. Closing his eyes briefly, the Treecko allows his arms to rise from either side of his body, prostrating himself against the background of green around him. A faint verdant aura channels across the surface of his dull skin, slowly sinking into the ground beneath him, and answering the call, the Lawn begins to glisten with a hue identical to the energy leaking into it. A wide grin is plastered across the face of Gear as he becomes empowered, and he turns towards Pikachu with a confident elegance in his motions. Opening his mouth wide, Gear allows a dull glow to emanate from the caverns of his throat, before a dense stream of numerous small bullets rockets forwards, levied directly at Pikachu.

An ear twitch is the only sign Pikachu gives of recognising the attack surging towards him. With a stifled chuckle, the small rodent makes a sudden, swift motion, the complexity of the manoeuvre clearly neutering his speed somewhat. This is made more evident as the back end of his body is stricken by the incumbent blast of green, but Pikachu perseveres, reeling around to crash headlong into the body of Gear, his momentum barely dulled in the slightest. Staggering backwards, the Treecko takes a moment to recollect his bearings, and this proves decisive. Mouth wide open, Pikachu is channeling a dank crimson energy into the air before him, small bolts of energy crackling across the surface of the construct. A dull signal emanates from the center of the sphere, and Gear is left discomforted even as a thin beam extends forth, a sudden pain lambasting his existence as the beam slams into his chest.

Gear is already behind, but not by any great way. Both Pokemon remain fresh enough, and Pikachu retains enough Bug- type energy for one more use of Signal Beam.

Standing affirm, Pikachu gives a devilish grin, before dropping to all fours. Obviously worried by this sudden motion, Gear reels away, clenching his right hand into a compact fist. Just as he begins to bring his fist backwards, a slight orange glow emanating from the appendage, Pikachu rushes forwards with a shouted cry, the yellow rodent scaling the distance between the two in a manner of seconds. Blinking surprised, Gear can do nothing as Pikachu delivers a simple one two strike to his face, the Treecko staggering backwards in abstract shock. Dropping his raised arm, he blinks again, struggling to come to terms with what had just happened, before a strange, warbling cry of frustration escapes his throat, a determined fury clear on the face of the Grass- type.

Grunting as he whirls, Gear slams his hands together, the crazed gecko determined to see the pain of his foe. A murderous glint in his eyes, he clicks his tongue as energy begins to gather, a shining verdant not unlike that of the one streaming through the grass below. Parting his hands, Gear creates a brilliant sphere, the pale construct shimmering with untold power. A grunt later, and the orb is whining through the air, collision course set. A sickening rending of the form and tendrils spew out, lashing at the body of Pikachu, the Electric- type wailing all the while, but he remains resolute. A choked piece of laughter sees crimson energies flood his body, quickly condensing the create a dull, protesting sphere. Seconds later and a familiar thin beam parts the distance between the two standing combatants, Gear left much worse the wear as it fades.

Gear is notably behind now, but will be fresh going into the next round thanks to the interrupted attack. Pikachu remains good for two, though he wouldn't mind a breather, and is fully out of Bug energy.

Standing strong in the face of adversity, Gear slowly drops to the ground, the Treecko taking on a complacent stance as he begins to gather energy from the surroundings. His natural affinity with the foliage sees the attack prepared quicker than would be normal, a thin tendril of verdant streaming through the ground towards Pikachu. Though the rodent remains on high alert, the source of the attack is unexpected, and his body is quickly consumed by a rampant pillar of green. Staggering backwards from the blow, Pikachu grimaces as Gear rushes forwards, hurriedly gathering a cloak of brilliant yellow energy. Whirring sounds pulsate from the aura, but Gear moves quicker, his extended fingers fashioned into a makeshift claw. With a brutal strike, Gear manages to leave a parting blow on his foe, a nasty red welt evident on the shoulder of Pikachu even as he disappears in a flash of crimson energy, replaced by the much more imposing figure of Combusken.

Pikachu took a pair of solid blows this round, not leading Gear by much of a margin now. Gear remains pretty much good for two, with Combusken entirely fresh.

Towering over his foe, Combusken opens his beak wide, unleashing a shrieking cry. Within moments, a dull thrum of energy emanates from within the blackened caverns of his maw, a surging crimson spewing outwards from his mouth. Gear is left no time to react, the Treecko engulfed by flame, left little more than a black silhouette on a backdrop of angry red. As the flames die down, the Treecko staggers in agony, before clenching his right hand into a tight fist. Dropping low to the ground, he slams his fist into the earth, a distant rumbling quickly filling the arena. With no warning, sheer plates of rock erupt around Combusken, enveloping him and leaving him trapped amidst the hardened surfaces.

Both look fresh enough, with Gear having dropped to the midpoint now.

Encased within his earthen tomb, Combusken begins to dig downwards, the sharp claws adorning his wings making quick work of the soil beneath him. Gear stands unknowing, a wide grin on his face. Leaping forwards with a powerful thrust, he brings his right fist crashing forwards, a faint grey energy surrounding the appendage. With a sickening rending of cracking rock, the tomb before Gear splinters into numerous projectiles, each of them shattering against ... the opposite face of the inner sanctum, with Combusken having vanished. Panicking now, Gear looks around wildly trying to locate his foe, and knowledge comes too late. As the ground beneath him shifts, Combusken erupts upwards, striking at the jaw of Gear with his outstretched wing, a smug look on his face.

Staggering backwards, Gear barely manages to remain upright, a clear look of frustration on his face. Clenching his right hand into a compact fist, he once again darts forwards, his lithe movements quickly drawing him within striking range. Cloaking his fist in a glistening aura of white energy, he strikes at the body of Combusken, the Fire type stumbling backwards, but nowhere near falling quite yet. Drawing his own wing high into the air, Combusken sets it alight, the brilliant crimson flame engulfing the entire limb. With a sharp click of his beak, the hammer falls into the square of Gear's back, knocking him down from his feet and sending him sprawling. Staggering back upright, Gear wears a besmirched look, knowing that his opponent had seized the advantage.

Gear is clearly hurting now, while Combusken looks pretty healthy. Both should be good for two. Grassy Terrain dispels at the end of next turn.

With his foe clearly close to the finishing line, Combusken stomps forwards. In a single, fluid moment, he is spewing a crimson flame towards Gear, and the Treecko can do nothing as he is engulfed. His entire world becomes dyed red as he thrashes wildly, the blackened silhouette against the backdrop of blood amusing Combusken to no end. His amusement is cut rather short. Exploding out of the embers, Gear drops low to the ground, rushing towards his assailant. His right claw shrieks with a dull blue energy as he comes into striking range, pivoting on his foot before leaping upwards, landing a brutal strike to the underside of Combusken's jaw before leaping back to a safe distance. This stands to be a poor decision. Spewing a smaller stream of flame towards his foe, Combusken erects a towering inferno around Gear, the swirling flames burning the air surrounding Gear. In a blind panic, the Treecko dives towards safety, but the heat searing his skin proves just too much.

Gear is unable to battle! Phoopes, your next Pokemon please.

Combusken didn't really enjoy this round, looking a bit scuffed up now. He's also panting lightly, though still just good for two.
