Buy Casino TMs in RSE

I'm sure most of you have noticed this already, but I just thought I would point out with the cold-hard facts since I just did it today ...

The cost of purchasing 500 coins in RSE is $10,000. The cost of purchasing 500 coins in D/P is $10,000. So far, so equal.

The cost of purchasing TM29 (Psychic) is 3500 coins in RSE. The cost of purchasing TM29 is 10,000 coins in D/P. Quite the increase.

The cost of purchasing TMs 35, 24, and 13 (Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam) is 4000 coins each in RSE. The cost is 10,000 coins each in D/P.

Conclusion: if you can afford it, you're better off buying your Casino TMs in RSE and importing them than you are buying them in D/P.

I can understand that GameFreak might have wanted to make things more challenging for the acquisition of the elemental beams and Psychic, BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE! , making it 10,000 coins a TM is just too much! That's $200,000!!! Sure, I've hit $999,999 three times now that I've begun to take advantage of Kuno's generous tip and fight the old folks near the Pokemon Mansion ($24,000 for a one-creature fight! ), it still means you'd have to fight those geezers 10 times just to get one TM. When you could get the same TM for one-third the price in the older gens, and save your coins for D/P exclusives like Gyro Ball (15,000 coins) or Giga Impact (is that it's name? anyway, 20,000 coins).

Re: Buy Casino TMs in RSE

What makes me lol is that Substitute is, like, 1000 coins or something. My true slacker method is to buy any TMs I want over Emerald once, clone the shit out of them, and then use the GTS cloning glitch on the D/P TMs.

Re: Buy Casino TMs in RSE

Well, today I decided to randomly try for winning a TM Explosion and it turned out it's not too difficult to rack up coins in the Veilstone Casino.

The Clefairy/Ditto looking like Clefairy bonuses really helps. I got like 200 coins in like 15 minutes.

The trick is, when Clefairy comes out, it will point to which slot you should stop, which helps a lot in terms of getting at least some coins, as the value of things increase and 'Replay' actually gives you coins too! The only problem is that you can only put in 1 coin as opposed to 3, so if you mess up, you can't hope for the angles to save you. But I guess that's why Clefairy is there.

Losses are slightly less, gains are slightly higher. Thus, price increases.

But yes, I would definitely buy TMs from RuSaEm whenever possible. Same deal with FRLG if possible.

So that's what the prize is for 10 Bonus rounds.

Excuse me, one second.

Okay. Dude! You can buy 500 coins for $10,000. You can get $24,000 from KO'ing a single Pokemon. It takes all of 60 seconds to charge up the Battle Seeker, click on the old couple, click through all of the text, etc., and another 60 seconds to do the fight. In two minutes, you make $24000. So let's analyze this one more time:

Talon makes $24,000 in two minutes by killing one creature in one trainer battle.
Loki makes 200 coins (which translates to $4000) in fifteen minutes.
Conclusion: Talon makes 6 times as much money as Loki in one-seventh the time, a.k.a. he makes 42 times as much money per second as Loki does.

Yeah. I used to play the casino to rack up coins. (Got up to 5000.) Then I realized Kuno's method of fighting the rich old farts was a lot better, and I have over 20,000 coins courtesy of purchases, and I'm still $999,999'ed out. So my advice? Don't waste your time at the casino. It doesn't pay. Even if you get multiple bonus rounds in a row, the Replays still only hand out 15 coins per success. So if you're lucky, and get 10 Bonus Rounds in a row, here's the max amount of coins you'd get:
- 10 bonus rounds x 15 chances to Replay per bonus round x 15 coins per successful Replay = 2250 coins = less than $50,000 = about two fights against the old folks ($48,000)

In the time it takes you to get 10 bonus rounds (easily 15+ minutes), I can get over $200,000 (or 10,000 coins).

The only reason to do the Casino is for the sexy TM ... which, as you pointed out, is Explosion. Quite sexy indeed.

As far as I can tell, there is 0% chance of you screwing up so long as you don't misclick, so I don't know what you're going on about mistakes. I've had as few bonus rounds as one and as many as four-in-a-row, and all of them had the same number of misclicks: 0. You can wait 0 seconds after Clefairy indicates the correct reel, you can wait half a minute. It makes no difference. If you click on the correct reels in the order Clefairy tells you, you will always get Replays. The challenge is to get a winning combo that is not a Replay when the moon turns red. Failure to do so kills your Bonus round pileup, and I still haven't managed to pull that off. (Hence my record of only 4 Bonus Rounds in a row, where I got lucky to never see a red moon until Round 4.)

If you think I've been an asshole in this post, and are looking for a chance to school me, here's one I can offer you right now: explain the difference between the following, who one prefers to encounter, etc.
- normal Clefairy
- Ditto-faced Clefairy
- green-horned Clefairy (has green eartips instead of the usual black)

I figured the green-horned one would be the best, but I only got 3 bonus rounds in a row with it, whereas I got (after many, MANY 1-bonus-rounds-in-a-row) a sequence of 4 bonus rounds with a Ditto-faced Clefairy. Who, considering he's an imposter, I would have assumed was the worst of all. So I am curious to know what the different Clefairies mean.

I got 9 in a row before I lost Clefairy and found out it was because of the dumb red moon.

EDIT: It's hot. I'm lazy. Sorry.

Re: Buy Casino TMs in RSE

Well, I hope the summer heat hasn't melted your brain entirely. As friends, Kuno ... and now I, too ... are encouraging you to put aside this notion of "making cash at the Casino" and to try the old timers near the Pokemon Mansion. One-creature teams (each) that give out $24000 (each) if you're using the Amulet Coin or Luck Incense. You'll be raking in the dough in no time. Kuno was a genius for finding this out for all of us.

Good luck on getting the Explosion TM, of course. That remains the singular good reason to put up with the Casino. If you can figure out the art of getting 10 bonus rounds, I look forward to reading about it tomorrow or in two weeks' time. For now, I'm stuck reminiscing about my one-time 4 rounds in a row. I usually get 2 in a row ... 1 is my second most common. For me, the Explosion TM looks to be very, very far away.

Re: Buy Casino TMs in RSE

If I ever get Explosion I will explode in joy. Btw the green earred Clefairy is a shiney clefairy. The ditto faced one made me laugh like hell. My record is 8 and after that ended I didnt want to touch the casino anymore.

The ditto one only got me to round 2 or 3, with the shiney one a little higher like 5-6. My 8 was a normal clefairy.
