oh Also here's some more coded language for you, let me see if you can figure it out: complaining about (((globalists))) makes everyone realize that (((your Youtube recommended list is filled with Richard Spencer videos))) and that your opinion should be disregarded because (((globalist has become a meaningless snarl world for idiots who want to invoke One World Government bullshit theories but are too chickenshit to just come out and talk about the insidious creeping influence of the Eternal Jew))).

Of course, the lack of homogeneity in America means states' rights always have to be a thing in certain cases...but preventing discrimination is not one of those cases. No amount of states' rights should allow people to be discriminated against in one state and not in the other.

Neither of them are Jewish, and one can believe that globalists exist (especially when they say it themselves), without believing in the all-powerful tentacle Jew. Weird that I haven't checked this thread in some time with all these fine, well-reasoned counterpoints! "States Rights" have been invoked for some bad things, as well, but I see evil in Acela politicians pushing their extra-constitutional thoughts on the rest of the country. I won't delve into the transgender stuff further, as it'll unleash the ban specter, because this is a super-serious "debate forum".

In this case, Trump's invoking of states rights is a clear dogwhistle, although the victim this time is LGBT and not the traditional whipping boys that are blacks.
Because, if you wanted to make a statement on federal v. state, there are certainly other, more politically recognized examples of this that show you're committed to states rights. Yet, Trump went for the guidance. Early in his presidency. Despite publically being supportive of LGBT, he made a move against them with a nonsensical, historically loaded reason. Sessions' fingerprints are all over this and the only way Trump could really not look bad is claiming he's trying to "de-Obama" the USFG.

So trans rights = should be a states decision. Pot smoking... even decided by the states? Time to crack down on it.
"BUT MUH STATES RIGHTS". We know this was the agenda. They don't actually give a shit about states rights, because even if states are legalizing recreational marijuana, the federal government has now said they will crack down on it. Oh, and Mr. Spicy referred to it as 'an opioid crisis'. This moron just called pot an opioid. You know what the real opioid crisis is? The heroin epidemic, because of how cheap and prevalent heroin has gotten, and it's killing a lot of people. You know how many people have died smoking pot? Zero. But with Sessions and Trump going all in on their support of private for-profit prisons, it's easier to fill those prisons with the lowest of low-hanging fruit - potheads. It sounds to me like you know whatever is you want to say is probably shitty, which is why you won't say it. But if not then, please, by all means. |

Marijuana legalization is (or was?) a solid example of legitimate "STATES RIGHTS! " in action. None of this "coded racism" talk. None of this "coded racism" reality coming out of so many horrible people who misappropriate the fight to mask their own shitty causes. It is (was) a really, really solid case of both how and why the various 50 states should make their own decisions about their own policies within their own borders. The problem with the broad stroke of federalism too often is, you force one party or another to go against their ideals. This is well and good when we're generally agreed that one of the two parties are shitheads and they shouldn't be allowed to have what they want (e.g. female genital mutilation, fuck right off with that shit), but it becomes a problem in instances like drug use where you have one society that strongly believes in harmless recreational drug use and another society that just as strongly believes this is a myth and there are always going to be victims when drugs are involved. You let each party have their cake when you do it the states' rights way. You let the American experiment ride. You allow the results, in each state, to speak for themselves. And if there should so happen to be a clear loser / "you were wrong, fucker! " in this debate, you make it easy for them to recognize this, admit this, and change their policy to match the other state's or states'.
If it's true that the Trump administration is cracking down on Colorado & Co., it's not only a real shame but it also speaks volumes to the administration's insincerity. Don't trumpet "states rights, states rights!" if you're going to go against Colorado on the marijuana issue. I don't want to use pot myself, but fuck if I don't recognize that marijuana has got to be one of the most innocuous recreational drugs in this country. That's not to say that it's completely harmless -- just that it fucking knocks the pants off of legal drugs like nicotine and alcohol and pretty much every other illegal drug you can think of.

Trump doesn't give a flying fuck about any of the states weed is legal in because they all voted for Hillary. Sorry, but let's face it, we all know the man and his motives by this point. He isn't difficult to read. When they said 'turning trans rights back to the states', they just meant letting the red states write their own draconian laws. They didn't have the blue states in mind.

The law that says it's illegal is bullshit, and the President does have the authority to pick and choose what laws he enforces, and I'm not for cracking down on goddamn weed of all things, fwiw.

So, how about CNN, NYT, LAT, Buzzfeed, Politico being barred from the WH Press briefing today and AP and Time boycotting...

Just a friendly reminder that the Trump administration has denounced BBC, NYT, CNN, and several other news agencies while giving exclusive interviews to a white supremacist site.
Also he's too chicken to go to the WHCD.

Today we got a new addition to the list of people calling for investigations into Trump's Russian ties: President George W. Bush. He went as far as to say that the Senate should appoint a special prosecutor. Not gonna happen of course. If anything, t'll be a hearing before the Intel Committee so that Republicans have a decent amount of control over the whole affair.
And the other day, Christie ripped into GOP Congressmen complaining/dodging the town halls and told them to fucking deal with it. Because his career is dead and so fuck it why should he care about the rest of you fucks. Last edited by Stealthy; 02-27-2017 at 01:27 PM. |

Eh. After every victory, particularly ones that leave a party in complete control, you see these predictions. After 2012 there was a whole big thing about the GOP's viability to win the Presidency with dwindling minority support. Trump has, as usual, gone a bit farther, but not stressed about it.
On a happier note, Paul Ryan has said that "we need answers" on Trump-Russia ties. Again, probably looking at a Congressional investigation rather than an independent one, but still progress. Also, rumor is that Trump is gonna ask for a compromise and comprehensive immigration bill tonight, but we'll see. |

A Trump-style immigration bill will be interesting, but I'm sure it will boil down to "we hate brown people, especially Mexicans" instead of actually fixing our immigration system's problems.

On that note, if anyone's looking for a good book to read, there's one that really puts you into the shoes of the USBP and illegal immigrants from both perspectives, called The Devil's Highway, a true story about the 'Yuma 14' who died trying to cross into the US back in 2001. I recently read this book and it only reaffirmed my beliefs/the ideas I already had here, but it may open entirely different doors for others, who knows. |
