Just a rumor for now, but apparently the Pokedex has leaked.
Spoiler: show 104 new Pokemon, names sound Pokemon-ish. Taking with a pinch of salt for the moment, but I'd be happy if it ended up being true. (Dolphin Pokemon finally? Yes please.)

On one hand, this seems to be a pretty significant leak if it's true, seeing as it does fully show the typing game GF supposedly is currently playing. On the other hand, it really isn't, since it aligns with several previous leaks and could just as easily be a mix-match conglomeration of them with some 'bonus points' sprinkled within. I'm more hesitant to trust this one than the others, to be perfectly honest.
...The fact that one of the 'bonus points' has almost the same name as my dad's old internet persona really isn't helping things, either. |

Lots of cool typings but I'm not getting my hopes up.

My problem with the possible leak is the amount of "variable types". I doubt that would be so prevalent. Like I would love this pokedex because soooooooo many water pokemon, but at least the typings seem off to me.

While I like some of them (hey ho - new type combo's) it has the markings of a false rumour pandering to player's hope and expectations with it. Not to mention, some of them have a striking resemblance to the earlier rumoured Pokédex 6.5 Pokémon. Most notably the inclusion of a Fairy/Poison fungus, the Hydogen, Oxygen and H2O Pokémon and the chili pepper. Going to have to side with 'Fake' for now.

It looks interesting and somewhat plausible, but the thing that causes me to lean towards that it's a fake is the legendary to complete the trio with Solgaleo and Lunala, 'Malshadow'. It being Fire/Dark, the most theorized types of the aforementioned Solgaleo and Lunala seems rather suspicious. Either way it seems that this list has quite a few split evolutions which we haven't seen since Hoenn, besides more Eeveelutions of course. If this is in favour of this list or not I'm not sure. Still, if this list is the real deal, I wouldn't be disappointed.

I highly doubt they'd make a fully dual-typed legendary trio without all three sharing one type. All other fully dual-typed trios share at least one type (Gen 1 birds, gen 4 covers, gen 5 covers, gen 5 musketeers (technically a quartet but same principle)), so I reckon that's a trend that'll stick.

Easiest way to confirm it or prove it false will likely be the information we receive on this Friday (the 12th), so at least we won't have to muddle over it for too long.
Unless of course it's just a bunch more Alolan forms and not strictly new Pokemon but whatever. |

Yeah EAI but we don't actually know the rest of the set's typings yet. Like, I'm pretty sure it's a given that they're all part-Fairy, but the other type could be basically anything. That 'leak' was leaning towards it mimicking Oricorio's forms, but I reckon it could end up more likely copying the types of the islands' Trial Captains.

I'm inclined to say "real" just because most of these are so ridiculous that I can't imagine anyone coming up with these as fakes. They have to try to be believable and this is not very believable. Lies always try really hard to seem like truths, whereas truths don't give a fuck.
The thing that might swerve it over to "fake" is all the weird typings. Unless GF is going through a phase, it's gonna still have a bunch of "standard" pokemon. These are just...weird across the board. A solid 65% of them have 1 or 0 lines of that particular type.

See, the thing that I find tips it into 'Almost definitely fake' is the typing they have for Bounsweet's line. Pure Grass into Grass/Psychic and... pure Poison? iirc there has never been a Pokemon line that has completely changed type so much that at least one of the base form's types isn't part of the final form's typing. It just does not sit right.
EDIT: More than four captains, eh? Not heard that one before (But then again this thread is all the Sun and Moon knowledge I have because Serebii is a toxic pile of cancerous shite).

Some of the weirder things like Bounsweet's typing are actually what makes me think this has a shot at being real. Truth is stranger than fiction, after all. Or... canonical fiction is stranger than... fan... fiction... Well, you know what I mean. Shuckle summed it up pretty nicely- fakes tend to stick to what's perceived as believable, when we end up seriously doubting leaks that turn out to be real. Remember the Unova starter evolutions? Remember the Pokebeach leaks?

As for Bounsweet, I think that's actually another split evolution (if it is real). The name sort of implies it. Bounsweet is a sweet fruit Pokémon and evolves when ripe - Bountisteen. Bounsour is what happens when that fruit spoils. Either that or they're three partner Pokémon in crime like the Pan-/Simi-monkeys.
EDIT: My guess is 'Use a Leaf Stone (pick it) on time or you'll regret what happens to it' :p

...I had joined the Pokebeach Watcher's Club after the evolutions were revealed, so I can't really say I do. I do remember people doubting leaked images of froakie's evolutions and another pokemon who's identity I don't remember because my mind's practically a classic Mario level. I'm sure each new generation has had it's fair share of doubted leaks.
That said, I'm a tad skeptical about your reasoning given that you chose bounsweet as your example, MM. Of course you'd be all open arms for more potential poison types! Though regardless of the list's genuinity, at least now I know I wasn't the person who thought of MLP upon seeing cutiefly. *Is not exactly proud* EDIT @ simi- mention: Are you sure that wouldn't be panquake? *Shot* |

Yeah Bounsour was the one that leapt out at me as a split evolution. Same with T/Forgoyle.
766 Caterburr (BUG/ICE) 767 Parkoon (BUG/ICE) 768 Flycicle (BUG/ICE) 769 Hijakoon (BUG/DARK) This is the one I can't figure out. Does Caterburr have a split evolution? Does Parkoon evolve into Hijakoon? Why would it go from Ice to Dark? It's the only Bug/Dark type. There aren't any other bugs that could evolve into it. And yet its name suggests that it's a cocoon...even though there isn't anything it evolves into. It looks likely that this isn't actually the full list... Popplio looking interesting as it evolves into "sirene." Probably going to look beautiful~ The weird multiple-typings are really fucking me up though. Why so many types??? Why can Darwhisker be ANYTHING? I'm sooo confuuuused.

Leaks confirmed fake. Alolan Meowth and Marowak look sweet. (Dark and Ghost/Fire respectively)
