Aero looked up at the sky, with pinkish-purple clouds swirling. Aero was awestuck, but he also feared what it could mean. "Come on, Sand, you had your last chance. We've still got the rest of this island to explore, and not much time to do it, judging by the sky. Let's go," commanded Aero. But the Flygon shook its head. Aero sighed, pulled out Sandstorm's pokeball, and said, "Flygon, return." In a red light, the persistant dragon-tpe returned to its ball. Then he opened his Pidgeot's ball. Wind gave a happy cry. "We're going to the Phantom Desert, can I get a ride?" asked Aero. The Pidgeot nodded and Aero jumped on. With that, the duo flew off to their new location. |

"Success!" The singular word came from Shadow's mouth as a half-hiss, half-pant, for Shadow was still rather unused to battle, his frail yet tall physique shaking with adrenal overload. "Excellent work, Grim," he commended, managing to get his breath back. "Kull!" nodded the Ghost in response. "Now, what shall we -- what?!" For a moment, Shadow freezes to the spot -- or, rather, coordinates -- as the very land disappears beneath his feet for a split second before it returns, but not before giving Shadow a clear look of the water beneath. "Darn it... this island is disappearing! We have to make it back to Neptune Beach, before we vanish with it!" "Kull... Duskull?" "What is it, Grim?" Shadow asks, only for Grim to point to the beaten Burmy. Granted, it wasn't exactly what Shadow had been looking for, and it had been a pain in the behind more so than necessary, but Grim was clearly indicating that leaving it behind would seem inethical. The scientist gritted his teeth. Now was not the time for sitting down and analysing. Once again he had to combine both instinct with intelligence to hope for the best case scenario. "I hope I know what I'm doing," he mutters grimly, throwing the apples aside and picking up Burmy's battered body, as he produces a PokéBall from his backpack. "Make this easy for me, and I'll do the same for you," whispers Shadow, tapping the bagworm with the capture orb. "We'll have to make a run for Neptune Beach after this if we're to get out of here..."

Jess stared in utter disbelief at her feet. She could've sworn she'd just seen the earth completely vanish, leaving her mysteriously standing above water. A second later, and the land suddenly reappeared right before her eyes, as if nothing at all extraordinary had taken place. Jess frowned slightly, beginning to develop a mounting sense of unease. She turned to her companion, who was craning her head back and gazing dully upwards in the opposite direction of the ground. Puzzled, Jessica followed the other girl's gaze, her eyes widening as she finally saw what was so interesting. Up until now she hadn't noticed the strange-looking sky, but now that it was beginning to shimmer an odd color and crackle loudly with energy, the incredible display of lights commanded her total attention. For a long moment, Jess was unable to tear her eyes away, finding herself totally lost in the bright tinted sky, which swirled and warped in magnificent patterns. Snapping back to reality, she glanced at the other girl, who had a rather queer smile on her face, which seemed to shine mysteriously in reflection of the sky. Jess shuddered and decided not to ask if she had seen the ground disappear. Instead, she returned her attention to the battle, sensing that she'd best focus on trying to win this battle before something truly spectacular occurs. In addition to the weird-looking sky, there'd been an odd shift in the atmosphere, like it was becoming slightly less real... She shook her head and tried to concentrate on the fight. Haruki had unleashed an ungodly-sounding shriek that considerably distracted Croconaw, who winced but kept on charging. With a gigantic leap, it erupted out of the water and landed firmly on soil, the impact of its weight causing the earth to tremble slightly. It immediately lunged forward, bearing a hideous expression that completely petrified the poor Corsola. The Croconaw continued rushing forward, opening its jaws wide and crunching down on Haruki with several rows of ice-coated teeth. Haruki cringed as the frost spread excruciatingly over one of his horns, and countered by firing a stream of fast bubbles at the Croconaw's body. The crocodile groaned and stumbled back a bit, taken by surprise. Taking advantage of the opponent's momentary weakness, Haruki charged forward, ramming into the crocodile's stomach. His frozen-over horn proved beneficial in this situation, as it managed to tear into the Croconaw's tough outer hide. The Croconaw bellowed loudly as he felt the ice pierce his body, gathering itself as it glared at the Corsola with murderous intent in its eyes. Haruki stared back defiantly, unwilling to budge. Jess grimaced, feeling a little bit of sympathy for the Croconaw, but seeing as it had tried to eat a girl, she couldn't bring herself to feel enough concern for it in order to stop the battle. Also, it probably would not refuse to quit assaulting them as long as it remained conscious, so she went ahead and ordered the next set of attacks, hoping to be able to dispose of it quickly. "Haruki, quickly use SPIKE CANNON, then try to get away and use REFRESH to get rid of the ice. Then use ROCK SLIDE!" Jess turned her head and glanced at the sky, wondering how much time she had left. Meanwhile, her companion smiled knowingly, continuing to look upwards with a blank stare...

"Coriolis, wait for the Spiritomb to take action. Maybe try and talk it down from attacking, or ask it's intentions. If it decides to forgo negotiations, then use a Dragonbreath, aiming for the face. Use a Double Team to distract it, and then swoop in with a Dragon Claw for heavy damage. Remember Coriolis, this thing has no known weaknessess, so power is what you need to use. Beat it down if we have to, but only if it doesn't want to talk first. Always try peace before action." Giving his sage advice and orders, Grey stares first at Coriolis, and then at the approaching Spiritomb. The sky above them is still rippling in its pyrotechnic display, but for now, it can only be the background milleu for the scene that awaits.

Re: Excelsior
Here we go, guys!
~Rainforest~ thed3: As you walk through the forest, carrying the Cherubi and gradually leaving the smell of smoke behind, the sounds return to the forest, albeit a little subdued. The path, which was rather vague initially, starts to become more overgrown the farther you trek. The trees also seem to be growing in closer now, indicating that almost no one has gone in this deep before. You begin to hear running water in the near distance, and after a few more yards, step out onto the banks of a cheerily flowing creek. There is a peaceful air about the clear, shallow waters, with several Pokemon drinking or playing in it. Your arrival makes some noise, and the Pokemon take notice, flying or scurrying from your unfamiliar presence. One of them, a Bellossom, stays on the other side of the creek a few feet away, serenely washing her face. she looks up at you, the sunlight sparkling on her dewy petals, says a few words in her language, and smiles; she seems to be indicating that you should come up to the edge of the bank on your side. The water looks cool, clean, and inviting. What will you do? ~Sapphire Lake~ Jerichi: Crysta nods at you, then turns to the Buizel and tells it to take its friends out of the water. The sea weasel gives a quick "Bui!" in agreement, and after the male Azurill hops on beside his sister, they take off, the siblings using their tail floats to help the Buizel along. Once the two are out of the water, Crysta faces the remaining two Goldeen. Dark clouds gather overhead, blocking the shimmering sky, rumbling ominously, as the pair of fish get ready to attack together, aiming their horns dangerously. Now ashore, the Buizel stands up, and its two passengers hop to the ground and turn back to watch the lake, huddling together. Seeing the Quagsire against the two fish, Buizel gets ready to jump back in and go help. Suddenly the Goldeen rush at Crysta, horns pointed at her chest-- And a fantastic *BOOM* sounds, freezing the Buizel just inches from diving into the water, while a giant lightning bolt tears down from the clouds, searing the air around it. Crysta's Thunder attack electrifies the lake, making the water flash as the two Goldeen dance involuntarily upon its surface, eyes bugging out spasmodically. When the move ends, they float lopsided in the water, half-submerged and out cold. Level up for Crysta! The Buizel and his Azurill friends blink, spots lingering in their vision from the bright finishing move, then they cheer aloud. Looks like you and Crysta saved the day for these little guys. What'll you do now? Golden Mew: ((Uh... thanks XD; And you're welcome)) Still folding its ears cautiously, the Pachirisu stares down at the berry, now barely recognizable in its current state. The squirrel's ears flick forward a little in confusion, not sure what to make of the offering; the birds had fought over it, Pachirisu had ended up in an even bigger fight, and now this girl was giving it this battered fruit, apparently as some sort of apology. Pachirisu raises its head and looks up at you, considering. When you don't seem to mean it any further harm, it leans down carefully and takes the berry in its mouth, while still keeping an eye on you, and scurries up the trunk of the tree. After a brief while, it reappears on a lower branch. The berry is gone, probably stashed in its nest somewhere. The Pachirisu seems calmer now, and is looking at you meaningfully, as if trying to figure you out. What will you do? Yami Ron: Eira whips up a Sand Attack into Glameow's eyes, causing it to hiss angrily and paw its face. While it's distracted, Eira follows up with a speedy Swift, striking Glameow with small shining stars. As it collects itself and glares vengefully at your Espeon, it doesn't comprehend that the subtle glowing of her eyes means a Future Sight is predicting Glameow's approaching fate. With a yowl, it leaps at Eira and unleashes its Fury Swipes, raking into her repeatedly, and tops it off with a Scratch. Eira has shallow cuts all over and Glameow is nowhere near finished with her. What'll you do now? ~Phantom Desert~ Trick-or-Treater: As Jalhalla's Sandstorm starts up, Skorupi looks displeased; it's used to hiding in the sand, oddly enough, to escape such unpleasantries. Instead of giving up the battle, it retaliates with Pin Missile, hitting the Substitute. It wobbles once, twice, then disappears, hitting Jalhalla directly with two more of the needles. When the Cotton Spores and Leech Seeds begin circulating in the Sandstorm toward it, the Skorupi skitters and twitches back and forth in short, irregular blurs; that Acupressure from earlier had increased its speed stat greatly, allowing it to all but dodge between the grains of sand. A Cotton Spore wafts out of the main air current briefly and manages to stick to the Skorupi's tail, though, lowering its speed. Annoyed and hindered by the attacks, the Skorupi makes a Scary Face at your Cacturne and leaps at it with its Poison Fangs, biting deep into his green flesh. Moving through the swirling Sandstorm allowed one of the Leech Seeds to catch onto it, and the clingy vines instantly sprout and wrap around its exoskeleton, and it lets go of Jalhalla as the vines cause it pain. However, Skorupi's attack injected venom directly into your Cacturne, poisoning him. What will you do now? ~Bethla Meadows~ Dream Breaker: Circe acts quickly, slithering down your body and across the meadow as smooth as water, and in a flash, constricts the Carnivine in her coils with Wrap. As she squeezes down toward its mouth, the Carnivine's body pulses out in a sudden Growth, loosening the snake's grasp, and it flips out of the tree, landing on its vines. Circe lands in front of it, coiling readily. Keeping a vicious grip on the Skitty, Carnivine lashes out and Vine Whips the Ekans, leaving small welts on her scales. The Skitty mewls desperately again, and Circe fires countless tiny purple Poison Stings directly in the Carnivine's eyes. The plant groans angrily, clutching its face painfully with its leaves--and opening its mouth at the same time, dropping the Skitty out of it. The pink kitten Pokemon flops onto the sparkling grass, shuddering feebly; some of its fur is missing from the corrosive saliva, but it's still alive. The Carnivine looks down at the Skitty, and grabs it up in its vines. It realizes that it'll have to fight before it can enjoy its meal, and lunges at Circe, clamping onto her upper body with a powerful Bite. What will you do? |

Wayne felt a little relief as Bulbasaur finally seemed to have the advantage. Quickly shaking off any thought that he had he then returned his attention to the battle that he knew was not over. "Okay Sasan, you are doing excellent. Use Curse to boost your attack power. After that recall the Leech Seed unless the Skorupi breaks free from the Leech Seed before you get a chance to and then use a Frenzy Plant on it with all you power." Bulbasaur then nodded at Wayne as the young trainer then took a look at the Skotupi hoping it wouldn't break free before time as he then quickly thought, "Well I can't just leave the Skorupi here weakened... I could try to capture it. I mean its a good fighter and with time I think he could actually become a great team mate.." With a few seconds of devating himself, Wayne took an empty Pokeball from his belt and enlarged the red and white sphere as he then prepared to throw it at the Skorupi at the end of the round completely absorbed in the battle and oblivious to everything that was happening around him.

"Wow... " Stephen says, temporarily forgetting that he was in a battle as he gazed up at the sky. However, an impatient cry from Ivysaur brought him quickly back to his senses. "Right, sorry about that!" he calls out in apology, before giving orders, "Ivysaur, use Swords Dance, then Tackle it twice! That is unless it tries to escape again, if it does, use Vine Whip to slam it into the ground again instead of one of the Tackles!" Ivysaur nods, signifying comprehension of the attacks as she begins to carry out her orders.

Falcon smiled. The Pachirisu seemed quite nice, and was obviously thinking about what her next move was. She looked at the Pachirisu hesitantly, before making her mind up. Fetching an empty pokeball out of her pocket, she turned to the Pachirisu. "Pachirisu..." She began nervously to the squirrel, "I was wondering if you could join us on our journeys? You're a wonderful fighter with a great spirit, and seeing you battle today was incredible. You'd be the perfect addition to the team. I didn't mean to scare you or make you angry. You'll be treated very well if you join, and... well, I have a free space I'.ve been saving for the perfect Pokemon, and the minute I saw you, I knew you'd be the one. So, what do you say?" Falcon looked down, blushing, hoping that the rushed words that had just come out of her mouth actually made sense. Aqua stared at her trainer. Had she gone mad? She was certainly brave, just coming out and asking a wild Pokemon to join her team just like that. It was certainly a thing that she wasn't familiar with. “Circe!” Zach yelped. The Ekans glanced over at her trainer, in obvious pain, yet still nodded to show she was still in this. “Alright! You need to move your head towards the Carnivine’s mouth, and try to find a gap somewhere between its jaws! Shoot as many Poison Stings as possible into its mouth, and hopefully it’ll let you go! Then, Wrap yourself around its vines and shoot some more Poison Stings onto the ones holding Skitty!” Zach crossed his fingers, hoping for the best. |

"Good girl, you really did great, you deserve a nice long rest..." Zak cooed, unclipping the bird pokémon's pokéball from his belt and recalling her into the red light and into the quiet tranquility of her pokéball. "Now, to deal with you..." Zak's voice changed again, he was back to his serious tone and maximizing an empty pokéball and watching the fainted Buneary carefully, "Pokéball..GO!" he called out, rolling it towards the Rabbit pokémon so as not to injure it any more than was actually needed, waiting, he watched it come into contact with the pokémon, poised, praying his capture attempt would actually work...

As John finished stating his commands, Hades demonstrates his improved vision by Leering the Croagunk successfully, the frog paralyzed due to the attack. Now being a sitting duck, the dinosaur rushes towards it, showing his powers with another Headbutt. "Interesting, in the least." the trainer thought, as he saw Hades' intelligence put into action, using his head both to keep his eyesight improving, since the Croagunk had used another Mud-slap attack, and to smash the frog with another Headbutt. The gray dino seemed to be enjoying the battle; after all, let's not forget that this was his first battle. "Well done, Hades!" he exclaimed, smiling at his pokemon. He turned to his opponent then: the fighting pokemon seemed to be getting pretty tired from this battle, his panting becoming heavier in the last minute. Returning to his pokemon, he continued "If you keep like this now, I'm sure this battle will end in a matter of minutes!" Hades returned the smile; both were expecting for him to do so well in this battle, but he was keeping his stand. "Now, Leer it agai- what?" John started but was interrupted by Hades, a strange look on his face. With his tiny arm, he pointed to the boy's Pokedex. John was quite curious now; he didn't seem to have liked the orders he was about to give. Another leer, another two headbutts. What could he do besides that? Still thinking about it, he picked the Pokedex; he didn't use it often, since he had to memorize almost every pokemon in his childhood. "Now what?" he asked, and the dinosaur curled his arm, almost like trying to show his muscle. "You want me to rate your strength in the Dex?" he asked, even more confused; he started to click on the correct buttons, most of his attention on his pokemon. "I know at what level you are, you're a level 5!" Cranidos is at level fifteen. The boy looked at the dex, shocked; he wasn't expecting those words. Clicking on the button again, the same monotone. "Cranidos is at level fifteen." "Since when are you level 15?" he asked at Hades, laughing. "Did you steal candies from a small girl while I wasn't looking? Anyway, since you're level 15, that changes everything! Focus your Energy, Pursuit it, and then, finish it with a Take Down. Good luck, you candy stealer!"

Tom felt uneasy as he watched the battle unfurl, both Pokémon unleashing powerful attack after powerful attack on each other. He knew the Gible shared Poliwhirl's passion for battle by the way he continued on despite the hurt he was in. Every time he heard one of the two hit the ground with a sickening thud he bit his lip while wincing, struggling to bring himself to turn back around. With his eyes fixed on the battle halfheartedly, he kept finding himself taking quick glances at the sky. Something in Excelsior was happening and whatever it was didn't appear to be for the best. Tom kept noticing the sky ripple and surge, almost as if it was going to fall any minute. Since arriving at the island these odd occurences had being happening regularly and Tom was beginning to fear Excelsior itself. Trying to shake it out of his mind, Tom turned back to the fight before him. "Poliwhirl, Gible is beginning to tire! Use another Double-Slap then step back and blast it in the face with a Water Gun!" Tom knew he should try and bring the battle to an end for both Pokémon's sakes yet doubt nagged at his mind. The Gible seemed to match up evenly with Poliwhirl and though the battle had been short, he knew Gible was willing to spend all his energy taking down Poliwhirl...

Jeff’s eyes watered and he felt like vomiting, he could not stand it anymore, he felt horrible. This whole time it appeared as if it wasn’t possible for him to have a relaxing day. His eyes burned, and played tricks on him. He barely even noticed the pokemon that ran past him previously. He was feeling absolutely ghastly. The skitty had to deal with its problems alone, it would probably find its owner if it had one anyway. The boy ran back where he got off from the ferry, wishing to get back home as soon as possible. |

Looking ahead of her seeing the golden sands sparkling under the suns bold rays she wondered how long they stretched for and realized that they could not go on too far for fear of being stuck here and quickly becoming dehydrated. Her eyes suddenly lock on something in the distance, a small dark shape on the sands. The shape appeared to get larger as it slowly made its way towards them. As it got closer she could see that it was a person crawling on all fours through the hot sand. Stacey looked up to Zabini and quickly began to run through the sands struggling with a few of her steps but quickly getting into a rhythm where she wouldn’t fall flat on her face. Reaching the person, a man in tattered clothing he looked up at her with exhaustion and thirst. He held his hands up to her and with a cracked voice and pleads for her help or a drink of water. Feeling immensely sorry for the man Stacey let down her guard and pulled her satchel off her shoulder and routed around inside looking a drink. “I’m sure I’ve got some water in here, don’t worry we’ll help you. How did you get here? Are you alright?” she said with compassion looking at his worn form. He speaks a lot clearer this time and with a hint of confidence that wasn’t present at first. “Oh so much better now I have some help, now boys and girls, get them” he yells and Stacey tears her eyes away from her bag in shock only just registering what he said. The man stood to full height which was impressive as sand poured from his mouth making Stacey cough at the thought. All around her the sand shifted and swirled as what looked like people emerged. Stacey stood up whirling around seeing that they were surrounded taking a defensive position, her fists held before her to attack anything that came near her, Drowsee hiding behind her leg in fear. Feeling a rumble beneath her feet she gave out a yelp as a tree and net arose there swallowing them whole leaving them trapped up in the air. Stacey yelled a load of expletives not caring who heard, mentally kicking herself for being so stupid. The sand people inched towards them sending hatful glares their way which Stacey happily returned. “What the Hell?!?” she yelled, “I don’t know what or who you are but let us out of this net now!” she added her dark blue eyes screaming murder her clenched fists shaking. “I don’t know what we did to piss you off,” Zabini held his hands over his ears at her language, now nervous around his furious trainer “but its nothing that can’t be resolved with a good talk … or if you prefer me kicking your arse” she hissed, panting with anger. Noticing them getting closer Stacey growled and pulled a pokeball and a Ghost Ball from her belt, struggling to get at them but managing to just about pull them off. She enlarged them both and released the pokemon inside. The first appeared in the net with them, the little Kabuto screeching in interest, wondering why they were up in the air. The other appeared outside the net floating in the air, the Gastly eying the trainer with a hint of a smirk on her lips. “Narcissa, if those sand people get any closer and talking doesn’t help, keep them at bay with some Nightshade warning shots. Wraith, get us out of this net, keep slashing at it with your Scratch attack.” Stacey knew Narcissa would follow her orders without hesitation, she still hadn’t learnt to be rebellious and independent which in this situation was very helpful. Wraith loved to use his claws for anything and she was sure he could cut through the net after a while. Stacey cast another glare at the sand man that had asked her for help. She would want to get answers from him at some point … one way or another.

Looking trough the Go-Goggles and the storm of sand, he looked at his floronic companion. "Are you okay?" it was quiet for a moment, but his Cacturne replied with a small laughter consisting of short "Caccacacac"s. He was enjoying a tough opponent, though it wasn't really visible if the poison was effecting him badly or not. "Fuck that arthropod.." Trick tought to himself. Thinking to himself if it wasn't for the best to escape this battle and heal Jalhalla's wounds, he was interrupted by the green, spiky figure. "TurrrNAC!" it hissed. The wind roared. The sand blasted around them. The sun rays not being able to reach the ground, shined upon the storm. Trick smiled, knowing that his partner was ready to battle and not willing to just give up. "Let's do this! Jalhalla, we've slowed him down with the spores and the seeds already, but let's kick it up a notch, try to stop him completly with another dose of Cotton Spore, and then if he's immobile, Dynamic Punch his lights out!"

Her attention soon shifted back to the Buizel and the Shellos, but they were not anywhere in sight. Startled by their sudden disappearence, she looked around in panic until she saw a Pokemon Centre in the distance, with the Buizel carrying the Shellos inside. Looking back at Kairu, Soruta shouted, "Kairu! Nice job! I don't think the Sharpedo will be bothering anyone here anytime soon! But time is short - judging from the strange sky, I think something's going to happen soon..." She was wondering exactly how much time she had left before she was at the point of no return. Perhaps the glowing sky was a normal occurence for the island, but considering that not much was known about the island to the outside world anyways, she decided not to take that chance, and figured that she should leave as soon as possible. But the Buizel and Shellos... What would happen to them? She probably had enough time to rush into the Pokemon centre and see what she could do from there... "Kairu! Get as close as you can to the Pokemon Centre, and then rest for a bit! I'm going to go check out what's happening inside the Pokemon Centre now that Buizel and Shellos have gone in there, and when I'm done, we're going to get off the island! Alright?" Kairu uttered a faint, "Mannnn..." as Soruta rushed towards the Pokemon centre, wondering exactly what would happen as soon as she entered.

Joshua can't help but smile at the sheer cuteness eminating from the little Shinx, and his heart is immediately stolen. "I shall do everything in my power to make sure I treat this little guy with the same care I know that you have given him," he speaks, directing his reply more to Rebecca and her Shinx. Reaching into his bag for a Pokeball, Joshua steps forward to hold the ball out to the Shinx, not really wanting to actually throw the ball at the Shinx for fear of hurting the little guy. Looking up to the father, Joshua speaks again. "Thank you." Two simple words, but he hopes that Rebecca, her father and their Shinx will understand how much this means to him, Joshua's eyes returning to the little Shinx, and for a moment, to even more adventures with a new friend...

"Should've known. Well we need to try and wake this Cherubi up to see whether it likes it here or not." Thed walked down to the river and put his hand in the water and then lightly sprinkled some water on Cherubi to try and wake it up while Kilauea stayed a few feet behind him wary of the water.

Mt. Sierra:
Xuande: Both pokemon go their own ways, still tired from their last fight. Celes begins by using Razor Leaf on the tree branches. Meanwhile Hippopotas rustles the bush a few feet from her. Before long the Gabite looks at Chikorita and prepares another Dragon Rage at Chikorita who takes the attack and is nearly knocked out as it barely gets up shaking. You can see a small smirk on the Gabite's face before it turns its back on both your pokemon as it probably sees no fight with the two exhausted pokemon…What will you do? Sapphire Lake: quilava plush: Akari nods in understanding as it then moves towards the Gastrodon and Shellos. Before it can reach them, you suddenly see something jump in front of you. Quickly realizing it’s a Bidoof you take a closer look at it and see it is the same Bidoof that was staring at you earlier. Before long it then looks at you with a depressing look on its face before tugging your leg towards the hurt Shellos. What will you do?

Re: Excelsior
The beautiful colours swirling in the Excelsian sky begin to spread, stretching over more of the continent while trainers go about their business. Some are so spooked by the event they decide it's time to leave while others stay on for reasons of their own. Whatever their decision, they all agree to it being a spectacular sight to behold though the shimmering air which is radiating outward and now covering approximately two thirds of the land is causing some grave concerns for those who have never before experienced the event...
Neptune Beach Alilatias: With nobody really understanding much about Excelsior, the colourful light show in the skies above is really beginning to concern you. A sense of urgency has taken over, yet you're unable to leave without first checking on Shellos and Buizel. Rushing into the Pokémon Centre, you find the nurse already attending to Shellos while Buizel sits patiently on the side refusing any medical attention until knowing its little blue friend is okay. With Buizel refusing to be looked at while knowing its friend is in so much pain, a second nurse soon appears to tend to the little sea weasel and it finally allows the nurse to look at the hole in its arm. She winces, looking up at you and assuming you're its trainer. "This is going to scar," she says, cleaning out the wound and applying some antiseptics and painkilling medication before wrapping Buizel's wound with a bandage. "But there won't be any permanent damage to the limb and Buizel will still have full mobility in its arm." Buizel doesn't seem too concerned about itself though, especially considering Shellos is in much worse shape, but pulls a red ribbon out of the nurse's hair and ties it around the bandage so it looks more like a bandanna around its arm than a bandage. Winking at the nurse, Buizel seems to be in brighter spirits and she laughs, patting it on the head. Turning back to you she explains that Shellos has now been stabilized but is still in critical condition. Had you not had the foresight to administer the potion when you did it may have been too late by the time it arrived at the Pokémon Centre, and that it is going to need to stay for at least three months considering the seriousness of its injuries. After an encounter like that, it was lucky to be alive at all. Buizel's eyes tear up while looking between you and the nurse. It's clearly upset about not having its friend to play with and appears to be extremely confused, not knowing what to do next. Still assuming you're its trainer, the nurse looks between the two of you. "We can allow Buizel to stay here with Shellos while it recovers, or you can return for Shellos in a few month's time. We'll be sure to take care of them both, but the choice is yours." Buizel then looks up at you, a strange look in its eyes. It had never had a trainer before and the thought had never even entered its mind, but if it were to go with you it can always return for Shellos when his tiny friend is better again... Mt. Sierra John's Knight: With Hades having more moves at his disposal, he's eager as punch to put everything he has into this battle and show Croagunk who's boss. While he's busy Focusing his Energy, Croagunk unleashes a barrage of toxic needles, its poison sting attack pelting Hades and causing quite the stinging sensation but not doing him a great deal of damage. Hades then appears to become cloaked in dark energy and moves in with Pursuit, the quick attack like move dealing just enough damage to have Croagunk wobbling on its feet. The little toad knows its in trouble and attempts another Mud Slap but Hades' head is down while it charges Croagunk and rams it hard, Taking it Down. Croagunk drops, KOed. Level up for Hades... Sylar: With Burmy still gasping for breath, Aayla wraps her vine around it before slamming it into the nearest tree. Unable to catch its breath let alone Protect itself, Burmy lays on its stomach, gasping heavily while Aayla draws in more energy from the sun, her use of growth increasing the effectiveness of the Acid she then spits up over the little Bagworm Pokémon. Burmy squeals as hot red burns appear all over it, and when regaining its little feet just teeters on the spot for a moment before keeling over, KOed. Level up for Aayla.. Not wasting a second, you throw your ball at the fainted Pokémon and watch while the capture light blinks green, signifying your successful capture of one Lv.3 male Sandy Cloaked Burmy. Looking up at the pretty colours in the sky, you can't help but feel nervous even though it doesn't appear threatening in any way. Whatever the case, you now need to decide what you're going to do next... Lee-san: Mekhet gives Staraptor a taste of its own Medicine, whipping up a strong Whirlwind the Predator Pokémon is unable to evade. While Staraptor is struggling to regain its bearings, Mekhet glows white, streaking through the air at full speed before hitting it with Sky Attack for heavy damage. Staraptor growls, the guttural sound enough to make your hairs stand on end as you can tell it is VERY angry now. Charging in and slamming Mekhet with Take Down, the recoil damage isn't doing Staraptor any favours right on the heels of the damage it took from that Sky Attack. It appears to be having trouble staying airborne now, a fact Mekhet uses to her advantage while she swoops up and then around before coming back at Staraptor with her left wing fully extended. Staraptor notices the incoming attack too late to evade it and is struck right across the face by Mekhet's Wing Attack. The final blow for Staraptor, it screeches before losing consciousness and then falling from the sky... Level up for Mekhet. Rainforest Wayne: While Skorupi continues to thrash about to escape the tangle of vines surrounding it, Sasan uses Curse to boost his physical attack and defense before recalling his Leech Seed to help restore some energy. While Sasan is now feeling pretty invincible, Skorupi is looking rather beaten. Now free of its viney prison, Scorupi scuttles back several paces before Leering savagely as Sasan and temporarily freezing him in place before it moves in to bite him on the foot. With eye contact broken and Skorupi so close, Sasan is now in the perfect position to finish the little scorpion off and attacks with Frenzy Plant. The super powerful grass move is the final straw for Skorupi and it drops to the forest floor, KOed. Level up for Sasan. While the Pokémon who had been watching begin to cheer, you pluck an empty Pokéball from your belt and toss it as the little purple scorpion resulting in the capture of a Lv.4 male Skorupi... Phantom Desert Dae~Maker: Wisely deciding to err on the side of caution, you instruct Coriolis to communicate with Spiritomb rather than attack it. For what seems a lifetime, when in actual fact is only around half a minute, the two exchange words before Spiritomb looks you directly in the eye and smiles gruesomely. You feel a shudder wrack your spine, but are careful not to show how nervous you are for even though Spiritomb is attempting to come off as friendly(ish), a sixth sense is telling you not to trust it. Coriolis seems to share your thoughts, for even though she smiles at you after having spoken to Spiritomb she's also getting that same mistrustful vibe. Motioning for you to follow, Spiritomb heads back toward the ship so you'll have to decide quickly whether or not to accept its invitation. Who knows how it will react if you decline... Dragon 11: Unable to figure out how to gain access to the mysterious Mirage Island, or the conditions needed for it to appear, you decide a change of scenery is in order. Several minutes later, despite the curious happenings in the Excelsian sky, you're soaring hundreds of metres above the Phantom Desert on the back of your Pidgeot. The weather is a little too warm for comfort, but other than that the trip is relatively uneventful - until you see what appears to be the rotting remains of an old pirate ship sitting way out in the middle of nowhere... Sapphire Lake Jonouchi: While the battle hadn't been as easy as you first thought it may be, you aren't about to leave the two wild Pokémon just laying there after having beaten them senseless. While you lift Stunky, the fluid it had sprayed on you still reeking to high heaven, Kain picks up Buneary and the two of you head toward the nearest Pokémon Centre. A short while later you walk into the Sapphire Lake Centre, the nurse on duty wrinkling her nose at the stench that wafts in with you. Eying Stunky in your arms, she can't help but smile even though the smell is almost causing her to gag. "It got you, did it?" she asks, with a twinkle in her eye. The question is rhetorical though, and she quickly takes the two Pokémon from you, glancing over Kain as well and offering to give him a quick once over while handing you a set of clean clothes and suggesting you take a quick shower while she tends to the three Pokémon. Ten minutes later, freshly showered and smelling a lot better, you return to the front desk where the nurse is waiting for you. "This little guy will be fine," she says, patting Kain's head, "but he'll need a rest and he'll be good as new." Plopping the now conscious Stunky onto the counter who looks up at you warily, you notice Buneary is missing. "Buneary took quite a blow to the head and will need to stay here for a few days before it can be released," she says, "but this one is fine to leave. Will you be taking Stunky with you or would you prefer for me to release him?" she asks, awaiting your response... ZoraJolteon: Gleefully watching Piloswine's evolution, your next destination is Skuntank's choice. Waiting for her response she points toward the Sapphire Lake Pokémon Centre while her little baby Stunky cuddles in close to her. Understanding that she wants to have her baby looked over, you take them both to the Pokémon Centre where the nurse quickly tends to them after hearing your story regarding the ordeal both have been through. Several minutes later it appears both are fine and free to go, so you take Skuntank back to the woods surrounding the lake. She appears to be extraordinarily distressed about going home considering the memory of watching her babies being eaten by that horrible monster are still clear in her mind. You have no doubt it's an emotional scar she will carry forever, but Skuntank resolves herself to returning to her little home, motioning for you to wait for a moment. Gently cradling her one remaining baby, she disappears for a couple of minutes before returning with a small, icy coloured plate. Skuntank had found the Icicle Plate by the lake one day and only kept it because she thought it was rather pretty, but really has no use for it. Handing it to you as a gift for having helped her and saved the life of her last baby, she smiles before turning around and walking off into the woods in search of a new and safer location to set up her home... S_M: Caught up in the beautifully colourful display in the Excelsain sky, you almost forget about the battle when Ivysaur calls out to catch your attention. Relaying your instructions, Ivysaur moves swiftly to carry them out, taking advantage of the fact her Leech Seed is doing a nice little job on the troublesome weasel. Performing a little spin while Floatzel fights the vines sucking the life from it, Ivysaur is feeling rather energized when coming to a stop before lunging in to Tackle Floatzel rather violently. The weasel Pokémon expels quite a large amount of air from its lungs but that doesn't stop it from tearing at the vines surrounding it while Crunching down hard on Ivysaur's back leg. She cries out, but is quick to ram it with another Tackle while Floatzel's mouth begins to mist over. Its teeth seem to resemble icicles, and with one swift movement it bites down on Ivysaur using its Ice Fang. Floatzel isn't looking too crash hot, but that Ice Fang sure didn't do any wonders for Ivysaur. Both face off, staring each other down, while Floatzel's energy is slowly being drained from a combination of Ivysaur's Thorns and Leech Seed... Mirage Island Waterlight: You can't help but feel a sense of urgency overcome you while the Excelsian sky changes hue, the strange rippling effect in the air steadying in preparation for something you feel could be quite big. There's really no time to be worrying about that however, as your first order of business is to finish off this battle as quickly as possible. Gible, already quite weak, rams Poliwrath with Take Down receiving some recoil damage from the attack and being met with Poliwrath's Double Slap. While Poliwrath pelts it a few times, Gible falls down and lands on its rear before turning onto its belly and scratching at the ground to kick up dirt and grass directed at Poliwrath. Unfortunately for Gilble Poliwrath's Water Gun shoots through the Sand Attack, dispelling most of it and drenching Gible. Completely drained of energy now, Gible keels over, KOed. Level up for Poliwrath... Bethla Meadows Pearls Perap: Praising Taillow for a battle well fought, you administer a Potion before returning her to her Pokéball to rest. Turning your attention to Buneary, you remove an empty Pokéball from your pack before throwing it at the fainted furball and watching while the capture light turns green. Congratulations, you now have a Lv.4 female Buneary on your team... Joshua: Surprised by the turn of events, but just as pleased with the outcome, you're almost too choked up to speak but soon find yourself thanking Rebecca's father for his generosity. While Rebecca looks on lovingly at the little Shinx sitting on her father's palm a look of sadness is in her eyes, but the fact she is able to keep her own beloved Shinx is more than she could have hoped for. Smiling, she nods her acceptance of the change in ownership while her Shinx's eyes shine brightly with welling tears. You had saved her however, and knows you will take special care of her baby, so watches with acceptance while you hold your Pokéball out in front of the little cub. Still swatting at its invisible plaything floating about in front of its face, the tiny Shinx doesn't even notice the Pokéball when one of its more energetic swipes causes it to tumble from Rebecca's father's hand and onto the Pokéball's button which triggers the capture beam sucking the baby Pokémon inside. Congratulations, you now have a Lv.4 male Shinx. Immediately releasing Shinx from his ball and taking him into your arms, Shinx looks up at you with wide, excited eyes. That was the most fun experience he had ever had and he proceeds to press the button again, this time deliberately, disappearing inside of his ball. A second later he bursts out and excitedly claws his way up your arm and onto your shoulder, reaching around to gently paw at your nose and mouth while Rebecca and her father laugh at his antics. "You're going to have your hands full with this little fellow," Rebecca's father laughs, "but you'll never have a boring moment while he's around." Saying his farewells, he looks up at the sky before looking down into his daughter's eyes and smiling. "It looks like we're leaving." Frowning slightly due to this odd statement, you watch Rebecca and her father walk away with Shinx walking by their side and have the strangest feeling he wasn't referring to them heading for home...

Pulling off a third PokéBall from his belt, Cyrus turned towards the Gabite and declared, "You may think you have the upper hand, but now! Prepare to witness a power like no other! SUGARPUFF!" Out from the PokéBall appeared a small featherweight of a Pokémon. Her burnt sienna body was adorned with two long, jagged fernlike fronds, and her beady little eyes glimmered with excitement at the prospect of her first battle. "Now!" Cyrus bellowed. "SugarPuff! Show Gabite your Energy Ball! Try to ride the air currents to dance around Gabite, but if you can't, using your Synthesis attack to restore health!"
