Beginner Trainer Battle: Missingno. Master vs. OkikuMew

The New Fairground was busy at the beginning of March as the ride were open for the public to use now winter had gone. The sun was shining brightly through the white clouds today and although it was still a bit chilly the sun made it a much nicer day than previously experienced here. The rides were in full swing with excited screaming children within and even the roller-coasters had drawn in a queue of older children and adults all with tickets in hand. The two trainers walked through the front gates and blended in with the crowd. They took in the sights and sounds and definatley the smells of the fairground. It took a lot of will power not to stop off at the cotton candy, popcorn, doughnut or hotdog stalls as they enticed guests with their wondrous smells. Walking towards the centre of the park their found their arena surrounded by large fencing with their referee waiting patiently for them just finishing off a doughnut herself looking sheepish when she noticed that she was caught. She grinned and wiped her hands beckoning them over.

"You've drawn a crowd today guys, the guests love a good battle and that's what I've promised them today. Now lets introduce you guys" she said as she walked into the arena pulling each of them along with her. She raised a microphone to her lips as the crowd all sat in their seats turned to face the trio.

"Welcome to you all but especially to our competitors here today, lets get ready to put on a show!" The crowd roar with applause as they take in the sights of the young people looking sheepish in the middle of the arena.

"Today we have the veteran Keith taking on a relative newcomer Okiku, who will come out on top in what is promised to be an exciting match. Pick your favourite and cheer for them today as we get this battle started! Lets go over the rules of combat"

Arena: Fizzytopia's New Fairground: The rides and game stands aren't the only attractions here at the Fairgrounds, Trainers of all ages are welcome to pitch their Pokemon against each other in front of a bedazzled crowd! After all, what else draws a crowd and boosts ticket sales better than a good Pokemon battle? A hard 50m x 50m, clay arena has been cheaply sculpted somewhere near the center of the Fairgrounds, where it has been surrounded by a high, hard plastic fence covered in bright flashing lights, mostly to keep excited kids from running onto the field.

She allowed them time to prepare themselves whist retrieving a coin from her pocket. She assigned Missingno. Master to Heads and OkikuMew to Tails and gave it a quick flip: "Heads".
Once she was sure they understood the rules she went through the order of play:

– I need PM’s from both of you including your Pokemon, their stats, any healing items being declared, and your attacks for the first round (I am happy with up to 3 being used per round)
- I will then ref the first round.
- Missingno. Master will then order their attacks for the next round.
- OkikuMew then orders their attacks.
- I ref the round, and the next round attack orders switch and so on and so forth till we have a winner!

The fairgrounds were a lively place. Bright, noisy, and the local battling arena was perpetually packed with spectators, ever eager to bear witness to an amazing battle. And speaking of battles, one was getting ready to unfold right now.

On one end of the arena stepped a 22-year-old man. As ever, there was a cowboy hat on his head and a Meowth on his shoulder. This time, however, his other shoulder was also occupied, this one by a Skorupi. The Poison/Bug-type grinned at the sight of the battlefield, but knew that this was not his time. Indeed, Keith produced a Poke Ball, and launched it into the arena. "Go! Hermione!" he yelled as the ball unleashed a small Weedle.

Hermione looked on as Okiku sent out her Starly, Rawk, to be the Weedle's opponent. Hermione was not one to be intimidated by type disadvantages, however- indeed, she was already considering possibilities for what her first move ought to be, which moves would help her gain and maintain an advantage. Whether she would be able to overcome her disadvantage, that was what she was here to find out, and regardless of the outcome, she would find it an interesting and educational experience.

"Let's get this party started," Keith stated as he adjusted his hat. "Hermione, String Shot attack- aim for the wings if you can! Follow up with Gummi Bomb, then give it a taste of your Electroweb!

Bio: The Starly was left in the Adoption Centre for unknown reasons. Thankfully, he got adopted by Okiku, who was looking for a Pokémon that could lend its wings to her small start in her journey.
Personality: Rawk's ego is bigger than a Wailord: he spends all of his time and energy to prove he's the strongest and baddest Pokémon around, even when reality says otherwise. He never says no to a challenge, and always does his best to keep a proud, brave face in front of difficulties. Although he appears to be self-centred, he's cool at helping others... as long as it gives him the chance to show off.

Despite being nervous on doing a battle in front of a huge crowd, Okiku couldn't hold her excitement for her match: She was against Keith, a trainer specialized in poison-typed Pokémon that she met not long ago and befriended with. The match was made before she even met him though, as it seems a friendly rivality sprouted between his Weedle, Hermione Okiku believed her name was, and her brawly Starly Rawk. The young woman was afraid that the type advantage and the wide range of moves Rawk knows compared to the Weedle's would get her too much of an easy win, but she then thought how Keith was a lot more experienced than her, and that bug Pokémon may have a trick or two up her sleeve.

On the way to the arena in The New Fairground, with Rawk perched on her shoulder, Okiku was looking left and right, spotting at all the fun rides, but mostly staring at all the restaurants and snack stands. She bit her bottom lip, really, really wanting to drop by one (or two, or three) of them to grab something, perhaps some cotton candy, some popcorn, a giant cheese-filled pretzel or maybe even an ice cream cone too... However she was smart enough to hold herself not to indulge into her one of her favorite things in life (food) and ruin the upcoming battle by either arriving late or having her mouth full in the middle of calling Rawk's moves. And besides, she thought, she can always give in to all of it to her heart's and stomach's content after the match is over.

Arriving near the arena, Okiku's body froze as she saw the crowd sitting in the stands. She took a deep breath, concentrating on the match itself instead, and slowly walked towards her trainer box. Rawk, however, felt that the atmosphere was the most inviting thing ever and his place to be, so he flew right to the middle of of the battleground, ahead of his trainer. As the two show up, the crowd screamed and clapped wildly, intimidating the chestnut-haired lady quite a bit, but only made the Starly more excited, proudly puffing up his feathers and hopped around in place, showing off his non-existent muscles and chirping very loudly. Shaking off her crippling shyness a bit, she politely nodded to the referee, then waved her hand towards Keith.

"Good luck to you and Hermione, Keith!" she exclaimed at him. "I hope the match is an interesting one!"

After the ref explained the rules and gave the signal to start off the match, Okiku yelled out her orders to Rawk, who was still busy trying to please the crowd and make a few fans of himself.

"Rawk, let's get you ready before hitting hard! Start off by giving you a defensive edge with Double Team, then Work yourself Up! And finally, throw at her a Heat Wave!"

Both trainers stare at the crowds and whilst Keith had experienced this before Okiku felt nervous and rooted to the spot. Her brave and bold Starly however was not so inhibited and he flew right onto his spot on the arena floor performing for the masses who cooed over his cuteness *cough* I mean manliness. There were a few murmurs amongst the crowd as the observed the Meowth and Skorupi on the young man's shoulders and wondered if either one of those were his battler. He instead sends out a small Weedle who looks hardly intimidated by the larger bird. A few worried whispers erupted wondering if he had lost his mind using such a young defenceless Pokemon with a type disadvantage but Keith's face held an expression of confidence that a few wondered what the small bug could do.

"Okay so its Rawk the Starly versus Hermione the Weedle, let battle commence!"

Rawk fluffs up his feathers and being the faster of the two begins to move back and forth on the spot creating 3 copies with his Double Team boosting his evasiveness. Hermione is not fazed however and targets one with her String Shot and manages to hit the real Hawk tying his wings up and reducing his speed. Keith grins at the success of his little Weedle and the crowd applaud their surprised approval. Hermione continues her assault this time with a Gummi Bomb laced with bug and poison energies which sticks to Rawks stringy body. The crowd look amazed at the unique attack wondering what it would do.

Even tied up Rawk is able to Work Up and boost his attack and defences his copies with their wings apparently stuck to their sides glowing the same shade of red. Unfortunately for him his gummi'd-stringy state makes him easy to pick out of the bunch of Starly and Hermione easily picks him off with her Electroweb pinning him to the ground and shocking him for super-effective damage. He's unable to move or escape and so cannot use his last attack, he feels his cheeks burn with embarrassment at being beaten by a Weedle of all things.

The crowd applaud loudly feeling bad for having underestimated this amazing little Weedle who smiles politely at the praise.

The grin on Keith's face only widened as the round went by. Everything was going his way- String Shot had tied Rawk up, the Gummi Bomb was stuck to his body, and the whole thing was tied up in an Electroweb. Scorpius, of course, was hopping up and down on Keith's shoulder, cheering loudly for the little Weedle, who was smiling and blushing slightly at all the praise. However, this did not deter her from the task at hand- she did not take her eyes off Rawk as she patiently awaited Keith's next set of orders.

"Way to go, Hermione!" Keith called. "Let's see if we can keep this up! Use Poison Sting! Follow it up with another Electroweb! If Rawk manages to get free, use Can't Catch Me to evade whatever he throws at you- otherwise, go for String Shot instead!"

What came afterwards may have been a surprise to the crowd but Okiku, although obviously flustered, was not startled: She knew she would be still facing a challenge, thanks to Keith's experience and Herminone's skills. Rawk, embarrassed being completely pinned down on many aspects, chirped loudly in a rage while struggling to shake away the Electroweb. Seeing her Starly blinded by his pride being hurt, Okiku put back some sense into him.

"Use some Mud to Slap away the electroweb off your feathers! Then Detect that Electroweb so you don't get caught into it again, and finish off by sending another Heat Wave while she's shooting that String Shot! That string sure'll burn along with her!"

Keith was very proud of Hermione already whilst Okiku as trying not to get too flustered. She knew that Keith was an adept trainer and raised his Pokemon well, she should have expected as much. Right now she had to get Rawk free and get back in the battle. Hermione lets loose a barrage of Poison Stings that rain down on Hawk making him wince in pain. As the attack ends Okiku notices a purple tinge upon his cheeks, oh their luck was so bad right now, he was poisoned! Hawk attempts a Mud-Slap and flails around but on the hard concrete surface there's no mud to bring up.

Hermione launches another Electroweb covering Hawk with even more electricity making him chirp in pain. He couldn't Detect the move being too tied up to even roll out of the way. Herminone seals the deal by tying him up with even more String Shot covering his legs now too. Rawk squawks in alarm and tried desperately to move, he begins to generate heat from under his wings and even though he can't move them the heat from the attempted Heat Wave weakens the string around his wings and he breaks free of it shaking the web off too ... now only his feet were tied together but this was a start.

Things we're not looking good at all. Although Rawk was able to be free from the strings, he got poisoned and his feet were all tied up. Okiku cringed her teeth together, not liking it at all.

"Your feet may be tied, but your wings are ok so use them! Summon the wind blowing on your back with Tailwind, then use that wind to your advantage to Fly up then swoop down at her as fast as possible, and then while you're still close to her revenge yourself about that poison by throwing her a Facade!"

While Rawk had managed to break free of most of the strings and webbing, his feet were still tied, he was poisoned, and he had been severely slowed down by the various attacks. Keith knew that Rawk was about to get moving, and the ordered Facade attack would very likely do some massive damage.

"Go for another Electroweb, Hermione, see if you can't stop that Tailwind before it starts!" Keith called. "If Rawk is still able to move, use Can't Catch Me to evade his attacks; otherwise, two Poison Stings!"

Things had picked back up for Rawk and although the battle was not going his way now he had most of his movement back and he planned on using it. He began to beat his wings drawing winds to push through the arena knocking a few hats off the spectators but boosting his speed back up. Herminone fires off what would be her last Electroweb as she runs out of electric energy but not before the Tailwind was complete. The web lands over Rawk again and shocks him but there was determination in his eyes. Herminone fires another Poison Sting at him still the faster of the two and he winces in pain but he couldn't be poisoned again.

Rawk begins to flap his winds the Tailwind blowing behind him helping to give him lift as he begins to take off. Hermione holds off with her last attack upon seeing him moving and wonders what to do. He takes to the sky the web falling off and he circles around her in the sky. She uses her unique Can't Catch Me attack to transform herself into a mini Gingerbread Weedle and the crowd ooh with delight never having seen such a move before. Rawk's Keen Eye allows him great vision but even he was having problems spotting the little Hermione. He Flies back down hoping to hit the speck that he assumed was her and strikes true making her scream in pain and go rolling back along the ground. Wow what a great stroke of luck!

She picks herself back and and goes scurrying away hoping that he won't hit her again but Rawk wasn't letting her get away that easily. He hops over to her and slams her with his wing in a Facade attack the power boosted due to his poisoned state. She shivers in pain and her team-mates call out to her backing her up. She had to hope she would be able to avoid such bad luck in the next round. Rawk looks pretty proud of himself when the Gmmi stuck to him suddenly explodes throwing him across the arena eliciting gasps from the crowd. The only bonus for him was that it destroyed the string around his feet but wow that hurt.

The two were now a lot more evenly matched, but Keith knew that if something wasn't done, and fast, Hermione wasn't gonna be able to handle many more rounds like that one.

"Go for a String Shot, Hermione!" Keith called. "If Rawk is still able to move, use two Poison Stings: if you can tie up his wings with that String Shot, then use two Bug Bites instead!"

Okiku bit her bottom lip as the wind literally moved to her side, but not quite as much as she wanted: Although Rawk was finally able to do some damage on the tougher-than-she-looks Weedle, he took some heavy damage himself as the gummi bomb stuck in his feathers exploded.

"Rawk," the Starly's trainer exclaimed in a surprisingly calm tone, "better take it nice and slow this time around."

The bird turned around and looked at his trainer, flabbergasted. He chirped angrily at her, not approving her change of strategy.

"Look dude, fighting's not all about attacking," she severely responded to what she guessed what Rawk tried to tell her, "if you keep doing that, you're just gonna knock yourself out and lose! Would you rather take some time to save your energy and win, or faint faster than you can say 'I got beaten by a bug-type'?"

Rawk let out one high-pitched peep in response of the insult, but after a rare moment of thought on his part, puff up his feathers and looked seriously at his trainer, ready to do whatever it takes to win, even if it hurts his dignity of not staying on offence.

"...Good!" Okiku smiled. "Alright, listen up: First, Work yourself Up so you'll be stronger for the next time you'll be attacking and endure the upcoming attacks better. Next..." she scratched her chin, thinking of the possibilities of what could happen, "if your wings get stuck by the String Shot again, just chill out, even if there's those Bug Bites coming at you: Roost to bring your health up and take a break afterwards to recover some energy. Perhaps even those bites would free you from those strings! Anyhow, however..." she paused to make sure Starly understood her plan, "if by any chance you don't get hit by the String Shot, send her a Twister only powerful enough to either blow her away or make her dizzy so you save up your energy as much as possible, then while she's distracted, go ahead and Roost."

Hermione picks herself up and fires a String Shot at the three Rawks and it fazes through one of the copies leaving the spunky young bird free to Work Up boosting his attack and defensive powers. The little gingerbread Weedle carries on unperturbed and launches her Poison Stings at the Rawks and again misses but this time eliminates the copy leaving only 2 left to choose from. With the speed advantage she tries again and eliminates the last clone leaving the real Rawk behind. He grins cockily at her or where he believes she is and flaps his wings sending out a small Twister that picks her up and sends her flying before crashing back down close to her trainer.

Rawk settles down and begins to Roost leaving him vulnerable to attacks but since he was at the end of the round he has a couple of minutes to recoup half his health back but at a cost to his energy levels.

The light and determined smile on Okiku's face turned into an open-mouthed and excited one as that round went so much better than anticipated.

"Told ya it would pay off!" she exclaimed.

Rawk answered with a loud cry, in agreement and having gained more respect and trust in his trainer despite her counter-intuitive strategy (at least, in his mind). As much as Okiku wanted to switch back to plans of action more fitting of her Starly, she noticed how the bird looked quite tired despite him trying to hide that fact.

"Alright, I know you want to go back to fighting, and honestly so do I, but you'll burn out and won't be able to do anything. So..." she hesitated as she was tempted to use Double Team, but she remembered herself just in time how Rawk's speed was badly hampered, so he wouldn't be able to make as many doubles as the first time he did it. "Build up some energy first, Work yourself Up again, then finally take another break through the rest of the round, ok?"

The Roost had really worn Rawk out, and both Keith and Okiku knew it. Okiku had ordered Rawk to essentially remain still for the round, and Keith knew it was time to take advantage of that as much as he could.

"Hermione, Gummi Bomb once more!" Keith commanded. "Then use your Bug Bite, and follow up with String Shot! Try to tie him up real good with this one!"

Rawk had done well to regain most of his health back but at what cost. He was panting hard with his energy levels in the red. He need to inflict some damage soon to Hermione before his energy ran out. Keith had a plan to capitalise on Rawk's need to recuperate. She fires off another Gummi Bomb at the Starly who was resting up the purple/olive stripped gummi sticking to his chest. Rawk looks down at it and sighs remembering how much it hurt when it exploded last time. Whilst Hermione scurried the rather large distance (due to her very small size) Rawk Worked Up again boosting his attack and defences once more before resting.

Hermione finally reached Rawk and bit down on his foot with her Bug Bite. After that she shot out a String Shot but it was so small and thin due to her size that she managed to wrap up a foot but couldn't tie him up properly. As the round ended Herminone suddenly grew in size back to normal as the crowd oohed. It was like magic!

Keith had forgotten one minor detail when ordering Hermione to tie Rawk up with String Shot- she was still in the form of a miniature gingerbread Weedle, and the String Shot did nearly nothing. There was, however, the fact that the Gummi Bomb had stuck, and Keith grinned at this development- Rawk would have to expend valuable energy in order to remove the sticky explosive, and he didn't have all that much energy left to spare.

However, Keith noticed that Hermione's energy levels were starting to dwindle as well. She wasn't as bad off as Rawk, but she wasn't terribly far from that point, either.

"We can do this, Hermione," Keith called out. "Now that you're back to normal size, now tie him up with your String Shot! Get him good and immobilized if you can. Then follow up with Poison Sting!"

Although she was glad Rawk was able pump up his attack and defense again and that in a somewhat unexpected turn the String Shot didn't do as much effect, Okiku sighed as her Starly got stuck with another gummi bomb stuck in his feathers and that he didn't recover as much energy as she thought he would. Actually, he looks a bit more tired than before... On top of that, Keith have called another String Shot, since Hermione's back to her normal size, so as her web strings.

"Rawk, throw a Quick Attack at her before she hits you with that String Shot!" she ordered. "Then take a break for the rest of the round, you need it..."

Rawk was running really low on energy now and the protection of his copies had gone; now was the time for Hermione to act. She fires off a String Shot at Rawk hitting him in the chest but before his wings can be tied up he shoots off to the side and slams into her with his Quick Attack pushing her back. She recovers quickly and goes on the attack with a Poison Sting but due to his increased defences he hardly even feels it. She had better think of a better strategy as Rawk spends the rest of the round recuperating.

Things we're finally looking up for the "brains and brawl" team, as Hermione was starting to be tired herself and quite roughed up. Okiku smiled as she was proud of her sound strategy for this round, but under her lips her teeth held tightly together as she had to still deal with Rawk's poisonous state, major loss of speed, tied wings and fairly still low energy. She knew that one false move could lead to their doom swiftly... but with some good thinking, victory could be quite near...

"Ok Rawk, Your wings may be tied, but you can still run and hit with your body! Attack her quickly again, and right after while you're still near her, cut through the air, the strings attached to your wings and Hermione, all in one shot! Then take the rest of the turn to... well, rest; take a break."

Things were starting to look dire for Hermione... Rawk might have been running out of energy, but Hermione was still only marginally better in that department, whereas Rawk still boasted a lot more health. Besides, the Air Cutter Okiku had ordered... Keith had a nasty feeling about it. A super effective move of that sort, same type as its user, boosted by three uses of Work Up? Hermione was as good as KO'd. Was dodging it an option? Not likely- Rawk's Keen Eye had proven to be a valuable asset for it. Hermione couldn't evade his moves in miniature gingerbread form, so what hope did she have when regular-sized?

"Skorrr..." murmured Scorpius as he looked on at his girlfriend, also noting that she was losing.

"Yeah, dis don't look too good fer Hermione," Meowth said quietly.

Keith sighed. "Well, I'll agree with you there, Meowth," he said. "Well, I'm thinking that if this could very well be the last round of this match, we may as well go for broke. Hermione's shown off all of her moves in this battle so far... all but one. Probably her most powerful move, too... We gotta try it. She'll never get used to using it without practice, after all."

"Skor, Skorupi!" nodded Scorpius.

Keith took a deep breath. "Very well, then," he stated in a louder, more clear voice. "Hermione... use Firestream."

Rawk couldn't attack much, not with his low energy reserves but Hermione was starting to tire out too. Both had only one attack ordered and were hoping to catch their breath afterwards. Rawk's wings weren't tied though Okiku thought and he starts to take off whilst Keith thought hard about his order, it was a risky one but worth the risk. Rawk slams into Hermione with his Quick Attack and settles back down on the arena floor after as Hermione picks herself back up. His boosted attack meant that the normally weak attack was painful but she still had fight in her and now it was time to wow the crowd. They sat on the edge of their seats as she shuffled forward and she breathed in feeling what little fire energy she had come forth into her attack. She breathed out the Firestream, the hot bubbles popping all over Rawk making him squawk in pain and pull his wings before his face. The string on his abdomen melted off and being poisoned he was protected from a burning but the attack still hurt.

Hermione finishes her assault and falls to the ground weak from the energy required for the attack; she might not last another round, not if Rawk had anything to say about it. He has smoke rising from his body but his gaze is feirce. He caws loudly and swipes his wings through the Air, Cutting through it and sending blades on compacted air at Hermione. She looks at the attack coming her way and sighs before the super effective attack slashes into her and sends her rolling back towards Keith her eyes swirly as she's knocked out; Rawk scored a critical hit in the end too! The Gummi bomb chooses this moment to explode and send Rawk soaring into his trainer's arms.

"Hermione is unable to battle, Rawk and Okiku are the winners!"

The crowd give the pair a standing ovation at the spectacle the pair put on, they had certainly put on a show and enjoyed every minute of it.

Congratulations to OkikuMew and Rawk, you looked to be the favourite at the beginning of the battle and with good reason. There was parts at the beginning where things looked a little sticky for you two but you had some luck with the accuracy when Hermione was tiny and then used the typing to your advantage well (even if I did miss that order ^-^;;; )

Though Hermione managed an impressive Firestream, this was not destined to turn the tide of the battle for her. As per Keith's grim prediction, Rawk's Air Cutter was enough to finish things. Gently, Keith scooped the Weedle into his arms as she slowly came to.

"I lost..." Hermione sighed.

"Hey, cheer up, Hermione," Scorpius said consolingly as he scuttled down Keith's arm and approached his girlfriend. "You were amazing out there, I'm telling you!"

"...Thank you," smiled Hermione, blushing slightly at the praise from her Skorupi boyfriend. It was then that Hermione wriggled out of Keith's grip and crawled back across the battlefield. Keith was wondering what she was up to, when she stopped before Rawk and bowed her head respectfully. "Thank you for a wonderful battle," she said to Rawk, "and congratulations on your victory. I hope for the opportunity to battle you again someday, Rawk. Hopefully, I will somehow be able to pick up a new move or two by that time." She then crawled back over to Keith and resumed her position in his arms as Keith congratulated Okiku on her victory.

The whole scene went incredibly fast for Okiku, despite the action being already quick. To the combination of relief and amazement... Rawk pulled it off and KO'ed Hermione. He got hit by that nasty gummi bomb right afterwards though, sending him flying towards Okiku. With some quick reflexes, she was able to catch him mid-flight... but the momentum of the catch made her loose her footing and made her fall on her bottom.

"Hermione is unable to battle, Rawk and Okiku are the winners!" the referee announced.

"We... we won?" Okiku garbled, still not believing it.

The cheers and clapping from the crowd answered her question and popped her out of her "battle bubble", making her freeze her body for a moment out of fear of the bunch of people now staring at her. She was too overjoyed though that she snapped out of her shyness a bit.

"...We won!" she held Rawk above her. "You did it Rawk! Awesome job!"

Rawk cried loudly in celebration, flew off from Okiku's hands to land in the middle of the arena to chirp even louder towards the crowd, puffing his feathers as usual.

"Oh Rawk..." his trainer shook her head.


Suddenly, Rawk yelled out his loudest cry yet, and he started to shimmer then gradually glow. Okiku's eyes widened and her jaw dropped as she witness, along with the crowd gasping, as they all witness Rawk evolution process. As the glowing dimmers, revealing Rawk's new Staravia form, Okiku went back on her feet and ran towards her newly evolved Pokémon.

"Oh my Arceus awesome!" she shouted on the way, then bent down to hug him. He nudged her though, in a way of getting her attention on something: Hermione approaching the two. Getting the message, Okiku let him go to let him talk to her.


"Thank you for a wonderful battle," the smart Weddle bowed politely to Rawk, "and congratulations on your victory."

"You are welcome to be rawked by the RAWK!" he flapped his now larger wings proudly. "I should thank ya too for showing how a bug like you can rawk things out like the best of 'em, AND makin' me STRONGER! YEEEEEEEAH!" he puffed his feathers, now actually (and surprisingly) looking a bit intimidating by doing so.

"I hope for the opportunity to battle you again someday, Rawk. Hopefully, I will somehow be able to pick up a new move or two by that time."

"Ya betcha! You better train yourself better and learn new moves, 'cuz this guy's gonna be new and improved next time! But don't forget: When life rocks you, RAWK it back!"


Hermione then went back her trainer, and Keith called up on Okiku, congratulating her.

"Thank you, for both the congrats and for the battle, Keith!" Okiku responded, "It was a great learning experience! Hope we can battle again sometime!"

After she nodded good-bye to both Keith and the referee, put Rawk back to his Pokéball then retreated her way out of the arena, Okiku grinned largely and held herself not skipping her way to the nearest Pokémon Centre, proud of herself and her Starly to win their very first official trainer battle match.

Rawk goes from level 16 to 18 (learns Endeavor). And of course he evolves into a Staravia :P
