Gardevoir Moveset
My Sapphire Gardevoir's moveset is currently:
Psychic Shadow Ball Thief Calm Mind I'm currently emulating Platinum on my PC and planning on using a Gardevoir again, and was curious what your opinions were on a good, relatively competitive, moveset for a Gardevoir would be. |

Thief is really not worthwhile on Garde, especially after Phy/Spec split. I'd suggest Thunderbolt over Shadow Ball and suggest Wish over Thief, though that depends if you want to use it more as a support/cleric.

Well, my Gardevoir has to have Shadow Ball (personal preference), unless there's another move it can learn that can signify a black hole.
After teaching it, I've since learned that thief isn't the best move, but I didn't want to overwrite it on that Gardevoir (All I do in Sapphire is smack the elite four around anyway). I guess Wish will be my choice, as I've wanted a "Recover" on my Gardevoir for a while now. I've been doing some research on Serebii, and have realized that moves are best determined after factoring in the whole party. However I haven't yet found much info in the way of actual strategy and tiers, mostly just movesets. If anyone has a good source for competitive battling infomation, I'd appreciate a link. |

Smogon University
I've been using this site as a sort of guideline for my Platinum team's movesets too. Good luck!

Smogon sets are a solid starting place but if you're looking to use this competitively at all, you'll have to tweak based on needs in your team.

Yeah, I want them as competitive as possible, though I doubt I'll do much actual competition. ^^;

Gardevoir's movesets on smogon are the top of the line when it comes to a lot of pokemon. Use at least one of those sets and you should do well against other trainers.
