Ultimate Pokémon Competition (2007)
It's that time again - to submit an entry for what YOU believe to be your Ideal Pokémon!
Rules 01) If you have won this competition before, you may not enter again. 02) You may submit a previous entry, or you can create something entirely new. 03) You may create a pre-evolution OR an evolution of a current Pokémon if you believe it to be viable. 04) You must submit both normal and shiny pictures of your Ideal Pokémon, and its evolutions if it has any, with its statistics. 05) Sprites are a preferable addition, but not necessary. 06) You must submit a FULL moveset including Gender Ratio (percentage of male to female), Classification, Type, Height, Weight, Evolution Chain if it has one, Ability based on those available in the games, Flavour Text, Egg Group, and a full set of Level Up, Egg, Move Tutor Moves, HMs and TMs. Base Statistics will be a nice addition, but not necessary. 07) When thinking of what you'll need to add, believe you are creating something new for the next generation of Pokémon and make it as detailed as possible. The more you add, the better your entry will be. 0 You may NOT make the Pokémon too powerful. If we believe you're adding too many overpowered moves your entry will be disqualified when they are put to the public vote. 09) If you include any Diamond or Pearl moves and win the competition, those moves may not be taught to your Ideal Pokémon until D/P Pokémon are introduced to FB. 10) Please be original. No Digimon, Neopet or other animé ripoffs are appreciated. This is supposed to be your Ideal Pokémon, so be creative. Voting * Entries may be submitted from now and will close on Sunday, July 29. * Entries will be put up for a public vote beginning Monday, July 30. * Voting closes on Monday, August 6. * The winner will be announced either Monday, August 6 or Tuesday, August 7. Have fun! 2007 Winners

Re: Ultimate Pokémon Competition (2007)
Quick question about the evolution of old pokemon thing. Do they have to evolve in a completely new way, or could it just be happiness evolution or something else that's already around?

Re: Ultimate Pokémon Competition (2007)
Preferably in a way that already exists, but if you can think of something that isn't too far fetched I'm happy to accept a new kind of evolution.

Griffins in mythology are notorious for hoarding golden treasures, hence the possible wild hold item, the collar around Solagrif's neck, and Coroknight's armor. They are also often associated with the sun and circle motif; there's even one source that states that in mythology, griffins pulled the chariot of the Greco-Roman sun god, Apollo/Mars, among other gods' chariots. Thus, the idea of a sun-and-gold themed griffin was appealing to me. In addition, griffins are associated with the masculine (hence the gender ratio) and are sometimes viewed as a counter to unicorns, which are sometimes associated with the moon and feminity. If I were to hypothetically create Pokemon for another gen, Solagrif's family would be a version exclusive complimented by a unicorn/pegacorn family with a feminine silver lunar knight theme. Solagrif specifically was designed to be a cute predecessor that looks like a more consistent blend between an eagle and a lion. It's covered entirely in warm-colored feathers instead of half feathers, half fur, and even though it has "flight" feathers on its front legs with tertiary flight feathers at each side of it, it cannot fly just yet. Although they are born to a Pokemon that often nests on rocky cliffs (provided the mother is its evolved form), they are actually born in caves near the ground. They are rumored to be born in agate eggs because the parent would trick the invaders of its nest by setting egg-shaped agate in their nests as decoys. (And yes, the agate eggs are also drawn from griffin mythos.) Coroknight (corona + knight) Classification: Sun Knight Pokemon Picture: [normal] [shiny] Type: Fire/Flying Ability: Battle Armor - Prevents critical hits Gender Ratio: 75% Male / 25% Female Height: 6'9" Weight: 210 lbs. Evolution Chain: Solagrif--[Lv32+ & level up in daylight]--Coroknight Color Category: Red Pokedex Category: Mountains Possible Wild Hold Item: Nugget - 5% chance Egg Steps to Hatch: 6,120 Breeding Group: Ground Effort Points Gained from Defeating it: Attack +2 Catch Rate: 65 Base Happiness: 70 Pal Park Location: Mountain Flavor Text: COROKNIGHT hoards gold within its nest and clads itself in stolen armor. It can easily carry off a RAPIDASH within its talons. Base Stats: HP: 75 Attack: 110 Defense: 85 Special Attack: 75 Special Defense: 70 Speed: 90 Level-Up Moves: -- Solarbeam -- Scratch -- Tail Whip Lv.08 Ember Lv.13 Peck Lv.17 Quick Attack Lv.22 Flame Wheel Lv.26 Assist Lv.29 Sunny Day Lv.32 Morning Sun Lv.36 Steel Wing Lv.42 Agility Lv.67 Sky Attack Egg Moves: -Flare Blitz -Metal Claw -Smokescreen -Featherdance -Screech -Covet Move Tutor Moves: -Swagger -Sleep Talk -Double-Edge -Substitute -Mimic -Snore -Swift -Endure -Body Slam -Rock Slide -Swords Dance TM/HM Moves: TM05 Roar TM06 Toxic TM10 Hidden Power TM11 Sunny Day TM12 Taunt TM15 Hyper Beam TM16 Light Screen TM17 Protect TM20 Safeguard TM21 Frustration TM22 Solarbeam TM23 Iron Tail TM27 Return TM32 Double Team TM33 Reflect TM35 Flamethrower TM38 Fire Blast TM40 Aerial Ace TM42 Facade TM43 Secret Power TM44 Rest TM45 Attract TM46 Thief TM47 Steel Wing TM50 Overheat TM51 Roost TM58 Endure TM61 Will-o-Wisp TM65 Shadow Claw TM68 Giga Impact TM75 Swords Dance TM78 Captivate TM80 Rock Slide TM82 Sleep Talk TM83 Natural Gift TM87 Swagger TM88 Pluck TM89 U-Turn TM90 Substitute HM01 Cut HM02 Fly HM04 Strength HM05(D/P) Defog HM06 Rock Smash Explanation: The big guy who really bears the sun griffin theme. Although still entirely covered in feathers (even the lion portion), he has fully-developed wings and he wears light armor formed from his hoard of gold. He also tends to carry off horses, once more an allusion to mythical griffin behavior. (Now, I can't say that he can really carry off a Rapidash, but knowing the games' tendency to exaggerate things in the Pokedex, I thought it fit well. :P) The design is inspired by a Roman soldier's armor, and its crest matches that of a Roman helmet. Coroknight may have good attack and speed stats, but its defenses and typing can give it problems along with its arguably useless ability (which mostly works for pokes that can take a hit). I debated on making him Steel/Fire with Levitate or Steel/Flying, but adding a steel type into it didn't really appeal to me since I felt it would nix either the sun (fire) or flying aspects of it; the armor isn't fused into him anyways, and it could theoreticallly be removed.

Question. If we enter a picture with no colour, and win. Once you win can you add colour?
This is all hypothetical of course. |

Atk: 92 Sp. Def: 75 Spd: 76 Élu's physical form is composed of water and energy. They have the hydrokinetic ability to control water, whether it being itself (which gives Élu the ability to morph into any form it pleases) or outside sources of water. Élu are said to be able to merge with water around them, to escape from danger, or to increase its strength. Fishermen have told tales of enormous creatures rising from the depths of the ocean made up of only the water around them, decimating their ships. Many researchers have concluded these attacks are caused by particularly violent Élu, who attempted to protect their habitat from the fishermen, who they dubbed as intruders into their territory. While these stories may or may not be true, research has told time and time again that Élu are very social and playful creatures, though very shy. Élu have been revered for centuries as causing floods along major rivers, enriching the soil with nutrients and allowing civilization to flourish. Specially bred Élu are capable of creating fangs out of water before freezing them with ice energy, and using them to attack an opposing Pokemon. These Pokemon are extremely rare, and are said to be born only in pools of water touched by the legendary Suicune. In its natural state, Élu usually assume a form comparative to a sea otter, streamlined for movement through the air, though its abilities allow it to change shape at will, as well as fly above the ground freely. These creatures are extremely rare in the wild - and even if one is seen, it is almost never recognized as anything more than water.elu.PNG[/attachment:79e8d]elus.PNG[/attachment:79e8d]

Deamore - Shiny Deamore
Species Name: Deamore Classification: Loveless Pokemon Type: Dark/Ice Ability: Rivalry - If the opponent is of the same Gender as this Pokémon, then this Pokémon's Attack rises. Evolution Chain: None Height: 3 ft. 6 in. Weight: 120lbs Gender Ratio: Female - 75% | Male - 25% Color Category: White Pokedex Category: Mountain Base Happiness: 00 Wild Hold Item: Destiny Knot (1%) Catch Rate: 50 Egg Group: Ground Steps to Hatch: 10,240 Steps Flavour Text: Deamore are born with pure white coats, and gain their characteristic spots later in life. Some people believe each spot represents a heart the Deamore has broken. Myology & Information: Deamore are bitter, manipulative, and vindictive creatures who are said to have lose their ability to love long ago by way of a terrible heartbreak. Solitary and outwardly proud, they avoid other Pokemon and people, and rarely venture from the snowy mountainsides where they make their dens. Folklore says that a couple who meets a Deamore will surely be cursed; driven mad by the malevolence and brought to fight each other without reason until their relationship is torn apart from the inside out. It is considered a terrible omen for lovers to make contact with this Pokemon, especially before a wedding, causing the insecure or superstitious to avoid Deamore like a plague. Widows or the otherwise brokenhearted will occasionally keep these Pokemon as pets, to remind themselves of love lost. Despite their reputation and demeanor, Deamore have been known on occasion to bond with a trainer he or she deems worthy. Loyal though insanely jealous, Deamore do not like sharing their trainer's attentions, and have been known to go so far as to attempt to kill rivaling Pokemon, or, very rarely, other humans. Re: Ultimate Pokémon Competition (2007)
First of all, I'm incredibly sorry if I'm past the deadline for submissions. I just got back in town last night and I've been scrambling around all day to complete this as well as move around furniture around the house, and when I finally finish just with 5 minutes to spare, my computer doesnt recognize my scanner and all hell breaks loose. Really sorry for being late... :x
Name: Hydralip Type 1: Water Type 2: Fire Height: 3’11†Weight: 86 lbs Ability: Magma Armor – Prevents Hydralip from being Frozen Swift Swim – When Rain Dance is in effect, Hydralip‘s Speed is Doubled Evolution: Volsiedon at lv.30 Classification: Bottom Feeder Pokemon Gender: 50% Male / 50% Female Wild Hold Item: None Dex Category: Sea Color Category: Blue Pokedex Entry: Hydralip is a type of Pokemon that live on the bottom of tropical oceans. They thrive around scalding hot deep sea hydrothermal vents, where they get plenty of nutrients from planktons. Hydralips tend to live together in large schools around these vents. They are very hot-bodied, and due to this, are able to greatly increase the temperature of the water around them. When these fish are in large schools, they are capable of producing a hot springs-like environment. Since their evolution, they have grown very powerful arms and legs that have made them amphibious, in which their new limbs are very skilled at climbing steep and precarious rocks. On each of their backs grows two large hydrothermal vents, which exhaust all of the intense heat that they produce in their powerful, magma-resistant bodies. Volsiedon’s vents are constantly growing with age, and if the vents get too big with age, they become sluggish and tend to settle down more. As a symbol of strength, Volsiedon grow a tough, magma based armor across their bodies to defend themselves from fights they might get into with one another. Their tails are tipped with a golden colored trident, much like the ocean god, Posiedon, where they get their name. Volsiedons also live around deep sea hydrothermal vents, but are more commonly found in volcanoes and especially volcanic gashes in the ocean, where hot magma pours out of the Earth’s crust. Re: Ultimate Pokémon Competition (2007)
There is just over eight and a half hours left before this competition closes. If you have an entry, it's better to post now and edit during the next few hours than to wait until the last minute as any entries submitted after the deadline will be invalid.
I'll get the voting thread up at some point tomorrow.

Re: 2007 Ultimate Pokémon Voting Thread
I vote for quilava plush's Solagrif.
I am placing this vote as it is one of the only entrant that interests me in terms of design and bio and such, though I don't really need this reasoning, that is why. Good luck qp...

Re: 2007 Ultimate Pokémon Voting Thread
At first I didn't know who to vote for, but after some time checking the new fakemon I decided Trick's Protostomb was going to get my vote.
Why? Because I really loved its bio, its moveset goes acording the shape of the pokemon and the draw itself of the fakemon looks very good. So my vote goes to Trick.

Re: 2007 Ultimate Pokémon Voting Thread
I'm going to vote for Ushi's Deamore.
I liked the backround info, the drawing, and how well rounded the entry was. And of course being part Dark helped too ;P So yeah, Deamore. |
