Attempting to fritter away at the Gigantamax Pikachu's health in any way they could, the raiding Pokémon offered a mixed volley of attacks, including Nancy the Venusaur who started to shake her flower violently before releasing the first wave of an almighty flurry of small petals at her foe. Alongside the more offensive attacks, the Dragonite set up another Safeguard to protect those gathered from the paralysis-inducing fur of the monstrous mouse.

With the raiders having done their worst, the rotund rodent geared up for its next triple strike. Plotting nastily, the Gigantamax Pikachu hones its skills before unleashing a Max Geyser upon the defensive Dragonite. Not only was the factory site drenched by this attack, it also brought with it another dismal downpouring of rain. This was all part of the Pikachu's plot, though, the weather serving to further boost the power of another soaking Surf to deal a good bit of damage to a number of the raiders before it.

Despite the Gigantamax Pikachu's best efforts, it didn't manage to knock out any further Pokémon as the round came to a close. Through the pouring rain, it was clear that those on the ground were benefiting from the terrain as well, further fortifying them against their foe. With their best attacks being called, Zak knew he couldn't change his strategy now - Nancy would need to press on and continue to batter the boss with her beauty.

Gigantamax Boss Pikachu
★★★★★

Health Gauge: 0%
Shields Up: 0
Status: KO
KOs: 7

With the boss teetering, the raiders unleash a flurry of only their strongest attacks, causing Pikachu to reel in pain. The large ball of electricity and fat nearly falls over on its backside, but manages to pick itself up. Then, a massive Surf wave washes over the group, striking both of its chu sisters, knocking Pichu and Raichu out cold, while also putting serious hurt on Flygon and Venusaur. Electricity crackles around the rodent as it can safely fire off its most powerful attack, a G-Max Volt Crash unleashed into the sky before falling squarely onto Dragonite, the powerful blow taking out yet another of the raiders. On the very brink of conciousness, the boss lunges forward with a powerful Flail, fueled by its near expired time here. With Flygon low, this could end it all for the raiders, but a stumble in Pikachu's step sees it instead colliding with Dragapult, only to pass straight through the Ghost. Panting, the boss stares at its weakened foes, only for Infestation to tick one last time, the result being a large explosion of Dynamax energy as a much smaller Pikachu stares at the group, confused.

Shortly thereafter, an entire platoon of the small rodents, as well as a large number of Pichu surround the raiders, planting various trinkets at their feet. A charge of electricity runs through the group thanks to one over-excited Pichu and with the resulting flash of light, they all disappear, having vanished back into the land surrounding the plant.

For their role in defeating the Gigantamax Raid Boss Pikachu, the remaining trainers are awarded with the following:

  • 50 Watts
  • x1 TR Wild Charge
  • x3 Wacan Berries
  • +5 Levels to participating Pokemon (5 Rare Candies if level 100)

Unleashing a volley of their most powerful attacks in the hopes of vanquishing the Gigantamax Pikachu, the raiders managed to have the monstrous mouse teetering on the brink. Despite this, the rotund managed to save itself from falling, readying itself for its retaliation instead.

First up, the Gigantamax Pikachu employs its signature Surf once again, managing to take out both the Pichu and Raichu before it whilst dealing significant damage to Nancy the Venusaur and the Flygon at the same time. With its eyes squarely on taking down another one of the raiding party before it, the massive mouse summons its most powerful G-Max Volt Crash to take out what remained of the Dragonite's hitpoints. With only one knock-out deciding the fate of the raiders, the mouse begins to Flail dramatically, hoping to take out the Flygon once again. Despite this, the attack attempts to connect with Dragapult instead, simply missing due to the spectral nature of the dragon.

Having no more power left in its tank, the desperate Pikachu suddenly starts to feel the infestation of parasites within its fur once again. The tiny bites and scratches all over its body serve to deal just enough damage to finish things off and as the mouse futilely scratches at the bugs, the Dynamax energy begins to leave the beast en masse. In seconds, the mouse is reduced down to its regular size once more and it stands staring at the group looking rather confused about the situation it found itself awakening in to.

With the threat to the Fizzy Power Co. having been neutralised, it isn't long before the Pikachu is joined by a whole horde of its kin. In mere moments, a plethora of Pichu and Pikachu appear before the raiders, thanking them for helping their friend and producing trinkets for each of the victors. Delighting in the wave of gratuitous rodents, Nancy begins to offer around a vine to shake paws and accept the gifts they had brought for the raiders. Before Zak could step in to offer a similar thank you, one overexcited Pichu released a flash of static energy and before the man could react, he found himself having materialised on the approach to the Fizzy Power Co. once more.

"Great work, Nancy - I'd say you're almost at your full potential. What do you think about that, girl?" The man smiled at the girthy floral toad who stood before him. It had been almost fifteen years since the two met and teaming up now was just as exciting as it was when he was a teen exploring the Arcane Realm. The Seed Pokémon appeared to feel exactly the same as a couple of her thick vines wrapped around her trainer's body and legs to pull him in for a close embrace.

"Until next time, guys!" Zak called out to his fellow raiders and their Pokémon companions, allowing himself to fall into Nancy's embrace before the two of them turned on the heel to find the road once more...

- Nancy the Venusaur levels up from Lv98 to Lv100 - yay!
- Collecting 50 Watts, TR Wild Charge and 3 Wacan Berries

Thanks for the great raid, Sniz! ^^

RP is spoilered for length:
Spoiler: show
As the rain continued to pour down on the Fizzy Power Co. Gym, the battle was nearing its end. All the raiders gave all they had with their attacks, and Jake really thought that this would be the final straw for the Gigantamax Boss Pikachu. Yet, when the attacks ceased, the Gigantamaxed Mouse Pokémon struggled, but managed to still get up.

Jake and Palpitoad tensed, bracing for the worst.

The Raid Boss summoned up one last wave of Surf, washing over four of the raiders. Unluckily, Palpitoad was not one of the Pokémon hit by this Surf attack, and so could not Absorb the Water used for the move. The Pichu and Alolan Raichu were wiped out, and knocked out, by the move, and the Venusaur and Flygon suffered heavy damage from the rain and Nasty Plot-boosted attack.

Next came a G-Max Move that knocked out the Dragonite: a G-Max Volt Crash, which was exclusive to Gigantamax Pikachu. With three Pokémon down in a single turn, the situation suddenly became more perilous than Jake would have thought. Why, when only four Pokémon had been knocked out, the Trainer considered the raid easier than the other ones he had participated in lately. But now that that number was up to seven, this raid was no different than, say, the Gigantamax Rillaboom raid.

And to close things off, the Gigantamax Boss Pikachu began swinging its limbs and tail in a precarious manner, making its way towards the Flygon, who had been hit by the underestimatingly powerful Surf earlier in the round. Jake gritted his teeth; if that Flail, powered by the Pikachu’s extremely low health, connected, then everything would be over. The raiders would have lost.

But surprisingly, the Raid Boss made a misstep. It stumbled, crashing into the part Ghost-type Dragapult instead, and falling straight through the spectral dragon. At this, the training Aura Guardian, and Palpitoad, breathed a sigh of relief, and maybe the others did as well. The raiders would be able to stand for one more turn! As it turned out, things played out even better than Jake had initially thought. The buzzing of the tiny parasites from the Dragapult’s Infestation intensified, as they had at the end of each round. Despite the Pikachu’s attempts to swat away the pests, the small amount of damage the move brought was, in the end, the straw that broke the Boss’s back. The Dynamax Energy flooded out from the Gigantamax Pikachu, who looked around innocently, not fueled by the chaotic energy any longer.

As a group of Pichu and Pikachu went around, delivering prizes to the Trainers who had stayed to the end of this Raid Battle, Jake jumped up in celebration.

“We did it, Palpitoad!” the Trainer exclaimed, promptly making his way to the rewards meant for him, and turning back to his Pokémon. “We defeated the Gigantamax Pikachu! And you only took a stall-natured status move, a weak Bug-type move, and several harmless Water-type moves in the process!”

The Vibration Pokémon smiled and nodded in visible satisfaction, although seemingly subdued, as if contemplating the events of the raid.

Jake noticed this. “What? You’re not satisfied? How couldn’t you be when you barely took any damage from the Pikachu?” Deep down, though, the Aura Guardian suspected that that wasn’t the case. Not at all.

And indeed, Jake’s innermost instincts were proven right this time around. As everyone who was still at the Gym could see, Palpitoad’s body took on a bright blue glow, enveloping her entirely as she began to change shape, growing arms and more lumps on her body.
As this evolution took place, Jake paused, rapidly going through mental images of recent events. Several evolutions of his Pokémon had taken place in the past. Tympole evolving into Palpitoad, Shinx evolving into Luxio, even Charmander evolving into Charmeleon, which had occurred quite a few months back. Something they all had in common was that the Pokémon of Jake’s that were in a three-stage evolution line, of which they were the unevolved stage, had all evolved fairly quickly after steady training. They were also currently in the middle stage of their evolution line...until now. When Palpitoad’s evolution would be completed, she would be the first Pokémon of Jake’s who was obtained as her most basic stage to fully evolve into the third stage of her evolution line. The Trainer couldn’t say how proud he was of Palpitoad at this moment; even as an Aura Guardian, he wouldn’t have expected the Water/Ground-type to have both her evolutions to be influenced by Raid Battles of the Fizzy Power Co. Gym and occur this quickly.

Jake’s reminisce of past events quickly came to a close as his Pokémon emerged from her evolutionary glow, completing the process and revealing the she had now become. “Seis mi toaaad!” she bellowed, sending a small rumble through the ground.

At this, the young Aura Guardian took his Pokédex out from his right pocket, opening it and proceeding to scan what had previously been his Palpitoad.

Seismitoad, the Vibration Pokémon and the evolved form of Palpitoad. A Water and Ground-type. It increases the power of its punches by vibrating the bumps on its fists. It can turn a boulder to rubble with one punch.

Jake closed his Pokédex and put it back in his pocket, chuckling and turning to his now Seismitoad. “I gotta say, Seismitoad, your evolution was more deserved than I could have ever thought!” he congratulated his Pokémon. “You even learned two new moves! Congratulations! How do you feel about your new arms?”

Seismitoad experimentally raised her arms in the air, lightly vibrating the lumps on them and generating Fighting energy over her fists: the Drain Punch move. The energy dissipated quickly, the Vibration Pokémon having no target to attack. Seismitoad let her arms down and gave a content smile, nodding at her Trainer, who nodded back.

“Indeed; you definitely earned it,” Jake agreed. “Let’s go home and show everyone else, shall we?”

Toad,” the Water/Ground-type replied affirmatively, before the training Aura Guardian recalled her into her Pokéball. With the events of the day having gone well, Jake Celeste satisfiedly headed out of the Fizzy Power Co. Gym.

Claiming rewards, thanks! Adding the levels Palpitoad, now a Seismitoad, gained here before evolving, so...

Palpitoad grew from level 33 to level 38!

What? Palpitoad is evolving!

Congratulations! Your Palpitoad evolved into Seismitoad!

Seismitoad learned Drain Punch!
