Lil'twick - Flashes of memory erupt through your mind upon spotting the ghostly boy before you and his phantom Ralts, memories of a time before in this forgotten land. Of skyscrapers and giant, floating hands. But before you can grasp at the remaining past, the current time snaps back. Issuing orders to Kyle to end this battle in a swift and effective manner, you watch as the gremlin chitters back at you before crawling into the darkness of the crystal cavern he called home. But as he prepares to think up a plan, the Ralts cackles and shouts with a Taunt, the cacophony of phantom sounds ringing against the crystal and interrupting Kyle's thoughts a moment, sending him into a rage.

But how? Kyle's Prankster nature should have easily given him an edge here. The Ralts simply laughs, its glowing ghostly form reflecting in the crystals around it, causing you to notice it lurched lower to the ground than before, its arms stretched out in a manner similar to Kyle's own movements, as if a Trace of his own form. Tossing up a Light Screen before itself, the Ralts continues to give chase, searching for Kyle in the darkness. And Kyle makes himself known shortly, jumping off a nearby crystal in an attempt to blindside the Ralts with a Shadow Ball. The swirling orb of ghostly energy slams against the screen of light before erupting forth. The bulk of the blow absorbed by the pane, but a fair chunk of damage still done to the Ralts. The small ghostly fairy simply smirks, its quarry having revealed itself, and looses a Dazzling Gleam once more. With Kyle still mid-jump from his own attack, he finds himself unable to right his body in the air, and takes the blow to the chest, the blast rocketing him back into the darkness of the cavern.

The eyes of the phantom boy, meanwhile, stare into you, past your physical form, as though peering directly into your soul.

myahoo - The room was gorgeous, silent and shimmering and lost to creation, with naught by the purple form of Ore to distract from its kaleidoscope beauty. A distraction likely necessary if the state of the researcher you previously saw spoke anything about these caves. But more interesting was the crystal clear water before you, a small bit of movement inside as you stare down into the foliage within. Calling over Ore, it's clear that the Sableye is having an equally hard time, meaning that it was up to Wildfire to spot the source of the disturbance in the kelp. Focusing hard in an attempt to Detect what is below, the Cyndaquil stares down into the pool.

The focus turns out to not be overly needed, as the form in the kelp quickly rushes the walls of the pond, a sudden shaking throughout the room causing the entrance you had come through to collapse entirely. Small shards of ice crumble down altogether, all aglow in a myriad of colors. A quick look at them quite resembles a treasure trove of gems, and with yourself now trapped inside this room, you get a feeling you might know exactly what happened to that researcher. But your attention is quickly pulled away from the shards of ice as a large form erupts from the kelp, what appears to be a fish darting about inside the water, thick skin and skull appearing to not have seen sight of evolution in ages. But as you note the existence of the Relicanth, Wildfire cries out a moment, giving you just enough warning to move as large vines lash out from the foliage, nearly grabbing you by the arm as you move away.

The Relicanth is hardly as lucky, vines wrapping around its form as it struggles, attempting with all its might to avoid being pulled back into the kelp.

Missingno. Master - With Onix having - once again - got away without being able to be scanned, you find yourself stuck having to clean up its mess once more. Luckily, this is a situation you are able to handle with relative ease, and Homer is quick to get to work, collecting a variety of stones and sand from the area, as well as some of the shimmering shards of glass from the ground and compressing them. Water flows at intense speed as it takes quite a bit to form such a large plug, but soon enough the Psyshock is ready, and is tossed forth into the Caldera, sinking into place in the ground. The water flow slows to a trickle, as only small gaps hold place.

The sudden boom of it all causes a few more local Pokemon to emerge, specifically a school of Barboach that dig their way out of the sand of the Caldera after a moment before noticing the plug. With haste, the group work to fill the remaining gaps with sand, and while it might not be perfect, its clear the natural wildlife here have this covered. Down in the Canyon, however, you can hear booming sounds throughout the process, the Onix clearly still fighting off the Aerodactyl as clouds of dust erupt from the walls below every now and again. It's hard to see exactly what is going on, but it's clear you need to get back down there, and soon. The only question is, how exactly are you meant to do that?

Jaho-

In your rage, you command your Umbreon to have a tantrum, stomping about and shaking the ground. The Mr. Mime suddenly swings, getting off balance by the massively boosted attack. WHile it looks quesy, from the attack, it's more than ready to inflict some pain onto your Umbreon.

So, the Pokemon hones its focus and begins to rapidly rotated its arms and palms into a single point. It was using its natural ability to create barriers to its advantage... Honing them all into one powerful orb of pain. And when it was done, with a flash of the eye the Mr. Mime shoots out its focus blast towards Bobert.

The Umbreon screams in pain as the fighting move crashes into it. You see the eeveelution crash into the wall with an audible CRASH, and see him limply fall to the ground. Yet, when the smoke cleared, it was still fighting. For its friends, and for those the Mr. Mime have harmed, it would continue to fight until its body couldn't move.

So, realizing head on wasn't enough, you try for a diversion tactic, You command Bobert to create a ring of light to blind your foe. The darkness honed into purity from fey magics, the Umbreon sends the searing brahmastra towards the mime. It crashes into the psychic pierro, for a good amount of damage and swallowing the surrounding light.

In this splitsecond of darkness, you throw a Poke Ball. A small hope, that perhaps if you could bend it to your will... That if you could catch this monster that this would end. That was the only hope left, wasn't it? For this foe was more than formidable.

Yet, that hope would be for naught was you hear CRUNCH. The Pokeball, under supreme power, gets pulverized in mid air, and plinks off the Mime as mechanical garbage. It was an obvious ruse, and even in dimmed light it was more than easy to make out the movements of all in the room. And so, the Mr. Mime bided its time.

For, you see, Bobert did burst force with a Quick Attack as soon was it was done with the Light Ring. Pushing past its limits, the Pokemon uses its speed to barrel into the Mime. And this was expected, as you could see Mr. Mime's hands turn an ethereal blue.

As Bobert crashed in, it was then hit by slap after slap, the Wake-up Slap seeming to tell it to wake up. It was at the disadvantage here, and that if you wished to win you'd need more than brute force. And with one final slap, Bobert was sent flying towards you. You feel the Umbreon hit your body, and the both of you are pushed back.

In this small of clarity, you could see the Mr. Mime focusing once more. This was your chance... A small opening in the Pokemon's hubris.

What do you do?

Danny-

Feeling better from your Mismagius's Medica, your begin to analyze the situation. Hermes was cut from the battle, and Minerva was on healing duty. Though, the Pallossand seemed to be eyeing this Mismagius this entire time. Teaming up on the big boss, after all, would not prove as good as a time as you'd think.

And so, before the rest of your team could react, two massive walls of sand erupted beneath Hermes and Minerva. The Pidgeotto and Mismagius swallowed whole, and reappering behind the Palossand entombed. Ashen sand and volcanic rock contorted into earthen gaols, imprisoning your Pokemon for the time and preventing their actions. No, the big daddy wants it to be one on one. Predator versus pray. It was time for Fleur's true test of strength.

And so, the snake keeps blasting. It whips up yet another Leaf Storm, the boosted attack raising her mental prowess even higher. And with the type-advantage, the sentient sand palace is in for a world of hurt. Yet, pain was part of the hunt. True hunters knew about the pain of losing their mark, or the potential to be maimed by stronger pray. This was nothing.

So, using its ghostly tricks... It would cripple the snake. With a weird energy, you see a link established between the hulking behemoth and your small snake. One orb from the opponent, and one orb from the ally. And once this exchange was done, the Alolan ghost let out an eerie chuckle.

Skill Swap. Your Pokedex pinged immediately. informing your that Fleur's new ability at this time was [b]Water Compaction[/b[, and that the Palossand had her Contrary. She looked at you helplessly as she followed your orders and Leaf Stormed once more, the attack taking a MASSIVE toll on her and negating the boost from the last attack.

To make matters worse, the Palossand then uses Block. The Snake was trapped, her movepool crippled and no way to switch to regain her old abilities. The damage the Palossand took was great, but your were in its killing territory now. This was your test as a trainer, to look at what you have with your partner Pokemon, the one chosen for battle, and find an avenue for victory.

What do you do?

Wildfire peered into the water, trying to Detect the source of the movement, but he didn't have to try for long; something rushed out of the foliage, slamming into the wall of the pond and making something behind her give way. Melissa spun on her heel, gaze falling onto the now-blocked entrance as Ore screeched offense at the doorway's audacity. There was a sinking feeling somewhere inside her, even as her vision caught on the way the ice shone in various colors, and she distantly suspected she knew how the researcher became convinced that the ice was gems.

Ore chittered beside her leg and Melissa started, glancing down at her Sableye before turning back to the pond to see what had caught her Pokémon's attention. She registered the brown-and-black fish shape and then Wildfire cried out an alarm, Melissa stumbling back as vines shot out of the pond. Wide-eyed and heart pounding, she watched the vines wrap themselves around the Relicanth, who thrashed as it fought not to be dragged back into the foliage.

Melissa swallowed and then shook herself, pulling her scattered thoughts back into some semblance of order as she took another few steps back. "Um, right. Ore. D'you think you can get in there and get it free?"

Ore shot her an incredulous look and chittered, pointing at the water.

"Right, probably not the best idea when we don't know what's holding it hostage," Melissa agreed, feeling for her Pokéballs. "In that case, Stream, let's try an Air Cutter on the vines." She released her Finneon into the pond and he materialized already swimming towards the Relicanth. At least, this time, they probably didn't have to worry about someone trying to eat him.

Probably.

Ethan blinked at how the Ralts nullified his attacks with Prankster. Dark-typed Pokemon were immune to the effects of the ability, so its attacks should've had no effect. So whatever this ghost did wasn't real, but, there was no way to counteract that. Something as lowly as that had no excuse rewriting natural laws, and for something that powerful to happen something more must've been going on. Or someone fucked up and forgot how abilities worked.

Regardless, he needed to switch his strategy fast. If it was going to hide behind a light screen, then, he'd just need to switch his offenses. Luckily, Kyle had a lot of priority up his sleeves, so this would prove to be of no issue for them. Not to mention, that the ghost's strategy to spam a super-effective move was going to bite it in the ass. And, well, it was time to show them. But first, they needed to prepare.

"Hit it hard with your Shadow Sneak, and then lunge at it and unleash your Fury Swipes," the trainer ordered calmly. Getting into physical range would be more than enough to activate their trump card. They just needed to wait for the opportune moment.

And so, he'd wait, ignoring the ghost boy's gaze. He didn't feel bothered by it... Nor even feel it. Not the gaze, but some sort of liquid squirming. As if he was swimming through a viscous liquid, even though he was on solid ground. Strange, to say the least, but nothing too important. All he needed to do was wait for an attack to hit, and once one did:

"Kyle, Metal Burst!" The Unovan trainer ordered the Sableye.

Metal Burst: An especially dangerous physical steel-type move known by few Pokemon. It returned the damage dealt by the opponent's last damaging attack and increased it further. This should more than make that specter rethink its attacks. Though, the lack of a good physical move was definitely starting to show. Once the Sableye was able to get acclimated to his new home, instead of the trash heap here, they'd work on that.

It was a tense moment as Homer readied the Psyshock. Even working fast, it still took Homer some time to create the plug, but he was still able to get it done in plenty of time, and the fat Alakazam sent the psychically crafted wad of stuff into the Caldera, plugging up the hole Onix had left behind. There were still a few small gaps, but the local wild Barboach took over from there, and Eddie watched with mild fascination as they worked fast to patch the remaining gaps with sand. It seemed they had this problem well in hand, though that left the aspiring cryptopokologist and his crew with another pressing matter to attend to. For further down into the canyon, the booming sounds could be heard from the Onix continuing to try and fight off the Aerodactyl. "I can't quite make out how things are going down there," Eddie murmured, adjusting hs glasses as he spoke.

I can imagine not too well for the environment, came Homer's telepathic snark. I can also imagine that we're to play the part of fixing this up?

"If need be, Homer. If need be," nodded Eddie. "We need to get down there, and fast. Faster, it must be said, than merely walking can achieve."

"Cuboneboneboooone," sighed Femur. She flapped her small arms as though attempting to take flight, obviously with no luck.

"Oh, I know, Femur," Eddie sighed, holding his Cubone close to him as the Lonely Pokémon sniveled slightly. In truth, Eddie didn't know, or at least not for sure. Femur was the kind to keep her past to herself, so not even Homer's telepathy was any help in working out the mysteries of her past. But Cubone were not known to inhabit Cinnabar Island, and yet, that's exactly where Eddie caught Femur. Moreover, there was a long-standing theory regarding Cubone, specifically the species's origins, and that's what intrigued Eddie about Femur so much. For Kangaskhan were no more considered native to Cinnabar Island. Their pre-evolution, on the other hand... Cinnabar Island was, to Eddie's knowledge, the only known place where one could find 'M to begin with. And seeing his Cubone flapping her arms as though seriously expecting to take flight... surely this was the sort of thing she might have done along with her sisters, maybe something her mother might have taught her. Eddie remembered those parts of his grandparents' book vividly. His great-great-great-great-great grandfather, Bartholomew Starmie, had discovered 'M as a species not long after discovering Missingno. It looked exactly like Normal Form Missingno., shared the typing, the possible attacks... but differed in several big ways, such as size and weight, being a female-only species, and also the minor detail that 'M could evolve. Bartholomew had eventually come to the conclusion that 'M was a transitional stage between the baby Kangaskhan and the adult, but only for specimens who grew up around where wild Missingno. nested. The young and impressionable joeys would be altered by Missingno.'s strange powers, and take on a similar form to them in their adolescence, with evolution into the adult Kangaskhan being possible through minimal battling experience. There was typically no rush among 'Mkind to evolve, however, for it was only in that stage that they could learn certain abilities and techniques. Most notably, ones related to flight. And those would carry over upon evolution, as well. Furthermore, Kangaskhan who were once 'M themselves were more likely to have offspring who would first become 'M, regardless of any Missingno. or lack thereof involved in their upbringing.

Homer cleared his throat, cutting through the blatant exposition like a knife through extremely verbose butter. If we're quite done here, I assume you'll want me to Teleport us all down into the canyon?

"If it wouldn't be too much trouble, Homer," Eddie responded. "But first, I would suggest a quick peek with Future Sight to ensure we're not Teleporting right into the line of fire or anything."

You know, not many people think to do that, Homer stated, actually sounding somewhat impressed, even if against his will. Good on you. I gotta give you that one. And with that, the Alakazam began to use his powers, first to ensure he could find them a safe spot to Teleport to, and then to actually get them all there.

sixdragons_in_atrenchcoat - You have got to be kidding me...

There's a strange echo to those words. Not an echo of sound, no... In this crisp, cool air, voices ring out as clear and as sharp as ice. This particular echo is one of time, as Cy had uttered those exact words before. Reverberations from the past, soft, yet insistent, cling to the edges of Cy and Wurmple's minds, creating a persistent, eerie feeling of déjŕ vu. To this day, Wurmple suffered the after-effects of the event which haunted them; a loss of psychic power, coupled with a connection to the ethereal mental realm, which seems to be slowly but surely siphoning the bug type's energy. This terrifying and mysterious state left both Cy and Wurmple desperate for answers, and though the trainer and his faithful Worm Pokemon had not been aware of the island's glacial nature, they were aware that researchers specializing in odd phenomenon had come from all over the world to gather here at the QG Base Camp. What better place to look for someone who might have insight into Wurmple's condition?

With the help of Jeffrey the Buizel's combination of Surf and Ice Punch, the trio is able to traverse the frigid waters surrounding Quiescent Glacier with relative ease. As they finally step onto dry land - er, ice - they are greeted by a rather motley assortment of trailers, tents and even some small, igloo-like structures. Each structure bears a national flag from the researchers' country of origin, as well as an emblem from one of a number of different corporations, universities, institutions. Yet despite the sheer variety, they seem nested close together, suggesting a camaraderie of sorts, forged by the dangers of their pursuits... or, at least, an uneasy peace necessitated by neutral territory. Though the place is far from abandoned - the camp is clean and well-kept, machines whirr and click away, paths between trailers are swept free of snow and debris to facilitate easy travel - there do not seem to be a lot of people or Pokémon around. Understandable, given that the teams gathered here are on assignment to research the glacier, and are likely scattered around the island, doing just that. Even so, there has to be someone around here...

"Oy! What's the matter with you?"

The voice comes from the entryway of a sizeable trailer, proudly displaying the flag of the Sinnoh region, paired with an emblem depicting Mt. Coronet. As the trailer's door opens, a young woman - early twenties, by the looks of her - with a rugged complexion and deep brown eyes - shouts out from beneath the pure white scarf which covers her nose and mouth. In fact, the woman is covered head-to-toe in pristinely white cold weather gear, strands of contrasting black hair framing her face. There's nothing particularly odd about her, except for the fact that she is shockingly, shockingly tall - about eight feet or so. There's something a bit unsettling about that fact, but maybe she just hit the genetic lottery, or drank a lot of Moomoo milk growing up...?

"You're gonna freeze your ass off standin' out there, looking like that!" With a hearty laugh, she further opens the door of her trailer wide, motioning for Cy and his Pokémon to come inside. "Now, don't be a fool, eh? Come on in, and we'll get you sorted in no time. Isn't that right, Po?"

The head of a Rowlet peeks out from inside the entryway, clearly covered by the hood of a winter coat specially tailored for him. Upon spotting the trainers, the Pokémon - presumably Po - calls out to them cheerfully. An odd choice of partner, given the climate, but at least he seems dressed for it... unlike Wurmple, Jeffrey and Cy.

What will you do?

During the journey on Jeffrey's makeshift raft, bearing the spray of freezing water around him, Cy filled his head with furious determination to drive out his worries.

We'll find answers. We will... We have to. He repeated this to himself, a silent mantra that burned away the dark fear crowding his mind. Wurmple sat idly by, curled under Cy's coat collar as usual, listening to his Trainer's thoughts loop over themselves. He coiled tighter and shut his softly-glowing eyes, thinking a few complicated thoughts of his own as he drifted off to an uneasy sleep.

Wurmple was roused from his nap by the gentle thump of their ice platform hitting the glacier. His job done, Jeffrey nosed his Cherish Ball and returned to it with a blip of reddish energy, not wanting to remain in the cold for longer than he had to. Cy stepped out onto the 'island', eyes roving over the strange assortment of shelters impassively. He stuck his hands in his coat pockets, an ineffective gesture as his coat was just as cold and wet as he was. Wurmple trained a mental eye on his Trainer, and found the same cyclic determined thoughts.

Too focused on not worrying that he doesn't have any mental energy left over to actually think. I'd be proud that he listened to me, were it not interfering with us making any progress. Wurmple assessed. He inhaled, ready to break his Trainer out of his reverie, but at that same moment someone else did it for him.

What will you do?
Cy started at the voice, then turned on his heels to face its source. His eyes flicked up and down, assessing the strange woman at a glance, noting her unusual height and strikingly contrasting color scheme. Wurmple popped an eye open as he heard a faint pssst sound -no, not a sound, a thought.

Hey Wurmple, you awake? Cy asked silently.

So, reading thoughts is alright when you can exploit it? Wurmple responded snidely.

Don't snark at me when I need your help. Can you read her? Cy shot back. Wurmple rolled his eyes affectionately, pondering how Cy was getting used to his sarcasm, then reached out carefully with his mind. The strange Sinnohan woman... and the Rowlet, now that he could sense it. Yes, those had to be their auras - now just to poke around a bit...

Cy was feeling increasingly awkward as he waited for Wurmple to respond. Finally, he decided that should the woman's intentions be malicious, he'd have the upper hand at least - metaphorically speaking, anyway. He had a psychic warning at the ready and an army of insects in his pockets, after all. He waved a hand and approached the trailer, friendly but not letting his guard down. "Er, thanks," he said with a small smile. "I guess it is pretty cold out here. I'm Cy, by the way." He stuck out a hand for the woman to shake. "Nice to meet'cha... Sorry, didn't catch your name?"

Bobert clutched Boberson turning his head away telling him the last plan he had in a whisper.
"to start use magical leaf then hold on to my back. when we get closer I'll fling you at the mime. I need you to celebrate and if it connects gummy bomb. with any luck and if we are steady we may be able to bloomdoom."

Bobert after making sure that Bobington kew the plan acten like he was struggling to his feet as the plan starts. with the cristal on his wrist and his bag being pushed off to the side as a fake-out to simulate the shadowy companion running of to the side after the move.

From here one his "package" is secure stand up the rest of the way acting spent and hurt with another ball in his hand hobbling over as if to make a truly last-ditch effort at ending things.

Tick tick tick…

Flashes bore through your brain once more, flashes of your own memories, and those of the small creature before you once again. At first, times of anger, paranoia, and fear. But the memories begin to shift as you dig into the times you each would experience, the times affected by the shattering of the timeline itself in the wake of Primal Dialga’s power, into those of happiness. You watch as the Slowpoke battles at the side of small children, taking part in the rental battles that once were held in the arenas here. It seems that even with the creature’s tail being harvested for food within the hotel, it once found joy on the Isle, at the sides of aspiring children dreaming themselves proper trainers. The memories cease, and you find yourself once more staring at the Slowpoke. Wolfe does his best to put himself between the two of you, and yet you find your eyes locked as the creature echoes your own words back into your mind.

Who… are… you?

"Who am I?... wait, who am I?"

Drake clutched his head as memories old and new once again sprang forth within his mind. Memories of living here before, with Wolfe. Getting taken care of by Celyn in Alola... but something was off with these memories, Pokémon that they lived with... from his original home, these Pokémon didn't live anymore, long-extinct due to the selfish drive and power cravings of humanity, why was he recalling this memory? What even was this memory? In all of his life, he lived in a parallel world to this one. Growing up with his siblings, traveling the world as a battler, contestant superstar, then as a Pokémon Researcher working with multiple professors around the globe. Not once had he been raised by Celyn in Alola, let alone with Pokémon that weren't alive.

But... Drake started to remember another life, born and raised, no mother to care for him, no father around. Wolfe being hatched from an egg since Drakes's birth, growing up within Alola. Sledding down Mt Silver, no other siblings at all. Young, Naďve and rambunctious. The one and the only thing that remained consistent within both memories was Wolfe his partner Arcanine.

Wolfe nudged his trainer gently and then turned back to the slowpoke and spoke into its mind.
"We are who we are, however, we seem to be... suffering from... something related with time. So many memories, so much between two lifetimes... Do you know why this is happening to us?"

Wolfe didn't want to trust the slowpoke given that they just had a slowking attack on them, not a few moments beforehand and which spoke in riddles, but Wolfe needed answers, for himself and for his partner Drake.

You order your Umbreon to send out a barrage of Magical Leaves as a defensive maneuver. Use the colorful, sure hit move as a distraction for the Eeveelution to try and get back to you. It does work, as the Mr. Mime takes the hit in terms of planning what to do next. This allows the Dark-type to safely get back to you, and you plan your next course of action.

Deciding that was best to get directly involved yourself, your pick up your Umbreon. This might be harder than you thought... Throwing a sixty-pound object, no less for a person of your size and stature, was almost close to impossible. So you try your best to yeet the Umbreon, who starts to go through the air. And then your heat sinks as it plops just a little in front of you, now safely concealed in a present.

The Mr. Mime, seeming confused at the move you used, walks up to the present and hits it with a Double Slap in an attempt to open it. The causes the box to explode into a storm of confetti and glitter. The force of the boom knocks the Mr. Mime back into the railing, and it slumps over. Its head hangs low, obscuring its face. It... It looks like you managed to do it.

For overcoming the Mr. Mime, Bobbington has gained three levels!

As your Umbreon looks up to you, seeming happy that this foe was overcome. That the Cactus family would no longer be harassed, and eventually would be able to purify the water enough to sustain themselves. You hear the door unlock, and your two bugs fly out itching for a fight. Yet it was all over...

Yes... over. The next few seconds happen in a blink of the eye, as you suddenly feel Bobbington crash into you. You see a devilish smirk as the Mr. Mime solely rises, a Dazzling GLeam shining off its body. Was it... playing you? Faking its defeat to catch you off guard?

At this point you see a shadow leap down from the railing above. You see the Cacturne rushing towards Mr. Mime, coated in an orange aura. Using its Superpower, it grabs the mime and carries it down with it into the acidic death pit. You see your adversary being to freak out, before idea sprouts in its mind.

You see the Mr. Mime disappear in a flash, Teleporting out of the situation. Yet, for a split second, you see a shadowy string wrap around its leg before it disappears entirely. What comes next... was a horrifying fizzing sound. The sound of a plant dissolving in a pit of acid, screaming out in pain. Yet, its death did not sound like it was in vain...

More figures jump down, with the Cacnea bawling before running out of the room in a fit of rage. Tears run across its face, yet you could see its eyes filled with revenge. It would hunt down the Mr. Mime, no matter the cost.

Bobert at first seems stunned and after a short while looks around; his eyes falling on the solitary Maractus and approaches slowly and reassuringly. Upon reaching the Maractus he drops down to his knees and cautiously hugs the weeping plant. after a moment of further reassurance, he breaks the hug and reaches for his bag.
The young mentally scared lad rummages through it and pulls out 2 things. one is a Luxury Ball and the other is a Plush Master Ball.
"If you so wish it you can come with me"
at which point he extends the ball, his palm facing up and the plush in his lap.

Everything happened so fast. Danny could feel the sweat running down his brow and the hair on the back of his neck stand on end as the Palossand went on the offensive. In almost an instant, massive sand swirled from the ground, trapping Minerva and Hermes in sandy tombs, and soon enough, they appeared caged behind Palossand - its prisoners, or were they Palossand's next meal?

Fleur, seeing this, felt a sizzling rage, and with that, she swirled her tail furiously, like a stand mixer, and a tempest formed around it, leaves swirling in an elegant vortex, which Fleur then directed at the Palossand, battering it and boosting her elemental power in the process. She felt stronger, the boosts sinking into her scales.

Palossand was sure to shut it down quick. With a wicked spell, it swapped the abilities of it and Fleur, causing Fleur's scales to feel more heavy - almost Water Compact - and Palossand gained her Contrary ability instead, leaving Fleur helpless as she fired off a second elegant storm, this one reducing her power, the energy she felt ebbing away.

Then, Danny felt a heavy weight - and his Pokeball zapped him and it fell to the floor, making a large click sound. It was Blocked, meaning Danny couldn't switch Fleur out to undo the spell's effect!

"That's fine, I can work with that." Danny clenched his fists, and felt the sweat pool in them. "Fleur, Coil, then Power Whip!"

Fleur coiled up, her attacking power, defenses, and accuracy sharpening. She glared down Palossand. For the spectral sand palace, this was a battle between predator and prey.

It was one for Fleur too.

Guess who's the prey, to her? Yeah.

With one last hiss of distaste, Fleur rushed at Palossand, her tail glowing a bright, energy green.

sixdragons_in_atrenchcoat: A silent exchange shoots back and forth between the minds of Cy and Wurmple, ultimately resulting in the latter psychically reaching out and analyzing the auras of the strange trainer and Rowlet they've just encountered.

Po the Rowlet's aura is soft, yet clear and easy to read - predominantly a rich, grassy green, flecked with sunny rays of beaming yellow, as if peering through a forest canopy from below. Trusting and open-hearted, Po's unconcealed thoughts can be read like an open book; he seems to be wondering why Cy and Wurmple have come here, and so poorly dressed, besides. The Rowlet seems to have observed that most researchers who come to this island are overprepared, if anything... Even so, this departure from the norm seems to create intrigue and curiosity in the Rowlet's mind, rather than suspicion. Po also seems to be associating the invitation of guests inside with a particularly warm and satisfying meal shared among them, and he is hoping that it will be curry this time - bitter apple curry is Po's favorite! At this point, Po's thoughts are completely overwhelmed with visions of his favorite food; his eyes glisten wistfully as his stomach rumbles. Overall, Po radiates a natural energy of gentle inquisitiveness.

As for the woman, her aura shines blindingly bright red - an aura of deep passion, strong will, high self-confidence and intense fearlessness. This burning light conceals her inner thoughts somewhat, though from what Wurmple can pick up, her immediate focus is on providing the new arrivals with a warm meal and possibly some coats, if she can find a pair that will fit them. Wurmple senses that the invitation may come with ulterior motives, though not particularly sinister ones - this woman, too, is curious about unfamiliar faces, though unlike her Pokemon, she is slightly more guarded and suspicious underneath her friendly exterior... Then again, such reservations seem reasonable, given that Cy and Wurmple's arrival is completely unexpected. Additionally, her thoughts seem to circle around "an ounce of prevention" - whatever her role is, it seems to be in her best interest to keep the people around her well-equipped, well-fed and out of trouble. As she is being analyzed, where Cy perceives an awkward pause, the woman spots an opportunity to give the pair a thorough once-over; it doesn't take a psychic to perceive that she's looking for clues as to their associations and motives.

In response to his introduction, the woman takes Cy's hand, shaking it firmly. "Damn right it's cold out there - you don't have to tell me!" The woman grins widely. "Pleased to meet you, Cy. The name's Kozue, and that ball of a bird over there is Po. Search and Rescue's our specialty - my Pokemon and I are trained and certified on both Mt. Coronet and Quiescent Glacier. Here's hoping our paths don't cross too often out there, eh?" Kozue gives Cy a wink. "Of course, when we're not out on the mountain, We're here managing the camp - keeping the paths swept, keeping unwelcome beasties from going where they don't belong, addressing supply shortages, that sort of thing."

Kozue takes a few steps back, motioning for Cy and Wurmple to come inside the trailer. "How about you? What brings you and your Wurmple to the Glacier?"

How do Cy and Wurmple respond?

The Maractus looks at your offer and gladly accepts. One, two, and a three! The Luxury Ball clicks, and the unovan cactus is yours. Congratulations, you have caught a Lv. 15 Male Maractus with EM Grass Whistle! Another plant friend to add to your crew, something more than suited for a farmer boy like you.

With the cactus now with a new home, you quickly scan the area once again. You, and your Pokemon, notice a few things now that the dust has settled. What stands out to you was a glowing, powdery mushroom growing in the far-off corner. Walking over to that, you pluck it and realize it's an item of extreme value to gourmands. A Balm Mushroom, with $1000 in standard Fizzytopian Currency.

While you're distracted by the mushroom, Noka and Shinobi find a pile of sludge they think is neat. Turns out, this pile of goo is a Black Sludge. A held item that heals poison-types and harms Pokemon of every other type. Seems fitting, to find something this toxic in the room here.

Lastly, Bobbington rolls over some dusty Dusk Balls. With the film of dust around them and their natural dark sheen, it would be hard to spot them while the battle was ongoing. But, at least you found the treasure now!

Realizing that was all you had left to do here, you made your way back to the surface. You run into no issues, realizing that the Reaper Cloth was still protecting you, for now at the very least. This was the end of your first real adventure... even if it was bittersweet. The Mime got its punishment, but Maractus's family was permanently destroyed. Though, if you wished to stay in the isle... or move to somewhere much safer for your young mind. That was your choice alone, but your time at the Phantom Island as of now has come to an end.

You have obtained
-x1 Balm Mushroom
-x1 Black Sludge
-x3 Dusk Balls

And that's your first adventure completed. I know you weren't happy with how things went, and I do apologize in that manner. I hope, at the very least, that this was a satisfying conclusion for you. So, thank you for allowing me to update this for you, it was fun, even if I went a little too far at times.

Danny-

The loss of her ability meant nothing to Fleur, as you had trained her in some tricks just in case. She begins to coil her serpentine body, loosening and hardening her muscles. This raises her attack, defense, and accuracy stats as you can see a purple aura come off of her. If it wanted to play this game, so be it.

Your foe, realizing that the Skill Swap was a mistake, tries to readjust. Though, all it can do is Shore Up for now. It draws in the sand from the ground, repairing the holes in its body, allowing it to massively heal up. It looks like most of the damage that was done to it was undone now. If it could just whittle away at you while healing up the bulk of your damage, this was going to end up being a battle of attrition.

So, best to just outdamage it. Fleur stares down the overgrown sandcastle and charges a massive amount of energy into her tail. With the Gravity and the accuracy boost, this move was a sure it. No matter where it slunk or ran, only hard protection would save the Palossand from the Power Whip. And nothing did, as its screams of agony echo through the cave as the attack hits like a truck. Sure, the Leaf Storms were bad, but this hit it where it HURT.

And all the monster sandcastle could do in response was fire off a Shadow Ball. It hits Fleur hard, for sure, but nothing like the searing pain it had just endured. Was this closing in to be the end? That its health was cut significantly to make those sandy prisons? Who knew.

What are your orders?

Bob Collects his new objects and companions and wanders back to the shore unsure of what he might find. Upon reaching where he arrived from he sees another boat and decides to board hoping beyond hope he ends up home.
He also used the master ball blush on his Maractus.

At the northeast of the Archipelago can be found the Conflagrant Spire, an active volcano that has formed into an incredibly tall and thin tower of a mountain. The spire itself finds itself to the far west side of the island, with the land below stretching and reaching out, as if attempting to grab out at the island far to the south. The nutrient rich soil hosts lush plantlife and a wide variety of fauna, leaving this what would be the most naturally beautiful of all the islands. That beauty hides a horrible secret, however, relics of times past that hint at terrible rituals that were once conducted here in the name of ancient deities. Those who have braved the island have yet to find anything resembling human life, yet these horrid sites remain clean, as though used only yesterday. It is unknown when the Spire last erupted, let alone when it will again, but a temple at its top gives hint that it must have been some time ago.

Sub Areas:

The Ashen Coast:
West of the spire is where all ash falls, thanks to the breeze created by the change in weather condition of the Archipelago due to the constant cold air from the Quiescent Glacier attempting to suck in the heat from so far away. While the ash falls into the ocean long before reaching any of the other islands, the coast here is kept rich by what percentage of it lands here, leading to healthy Pokemon happy to roam the area for the small foliage that pokes through the sand.

Harper Marisol smiled as she sat with her back against a warm rock, watching Bushwick wheel on thermals above the pristine stretch of black sand beach. Her Tranquill had behaved admirably well while they had been confined to the tight quarters on the fishing vessel chartered by Professor Tallsocks to drop them off near the ashen coast, and she was glad of the clear day to let him stretch his wings. This was her first time out in the field since managing to secure a research assistant position at Fizzytopia's Tallsocks Pokemon Laboratory, and she was excited to begin to explore this new region, so varied and different compared to the relative homogeneity of johto's landscape, the location of her last research stint under the direction of Professor Elm.

Getting to her feet, Harper whistled to her pokemon holding her arm out and crooked to provide him a perch, and pulled out a small camera on a lightweight mesh band. once Bushwick had landed, cooing contentedly, she affixed the device around his neck.

"Prof Phoebe said that the maps for the unreal archipelago are pretty hit and miss, so we're to conduct an aerial survey of as much of the area as we can manage. we'll start here along the Ashen Coast and work our way inland as we go. You feeling nice and limber, my handsome boy?"

Bushwick ruffled his feathers and twisted his head from side to side, settling the collar into a comfortable position, and nuzzled her cheek before leaping for the sky again, slowly gaining height before beginning to zig-zag lazily down the beach. Settling back into her seat against the rock, Harper pulled out her laptop, established the up-link to the airborne camera, and watched as the images and data began to roll in. It was good to be back at work.

It had been a long boat ride to the Archipelago, cramped and often times damp. You were relieved, at the very least, once you hit the shore. Your Tranquil, who you expect to not be happy being grounded on the boat, seemed more than happy to finally achieve fresh air. This would prove to be to his benefit, as you had soon affixed a camera to his neck and synched it to your laptop. It was time to begin your grand survey of the Conflagerant Spire!

Soon, the images and data began to sink in. The coast was an ashen black, from the volcanic ash that had mixed into the sand over the years. Small little sprouts of flora could be seen across the beach, as well as all matters of Pokemon partaking in them. From herbivorous Pokemon you'd see along the coast, such as Wimpod, to some Pokemon from the nearby jungle.

You also got some aerial data, seeing flocks of Talonflame and their young soaring through the skies. Riding through the thermals, seeming to head off towards the cliffs cradling the coast. Yet, there was something ominous appearing in the camera as Bushwick tried to focus further. An unknown entity, and then the feed went black.

After a minute, it soon came back online. It was once again surveying the coast proper, and you could see most of the Pokemon looking to go back to their nests after mealtime. Yet, you notice something odd. A giant plant sticking out of the sand, almost looking like an overgrown weed. That certainly wasn't there before. Something worth investigating, as most of the coast looked to be the same as when you arrived.

What will you do?

Fleur's attack had hit as intended, dealing heavy damage, and Palossand, nonplussed, had no back-up plan - simply firing off a Shadow Ball in return, which surely hit for some damage, paled in comparison to the damage Fleur had just dealt to it.

"Perfect!" Danny pumped a fist in the air in triumph. "Alright then, I know what we're gonna do next, we need to soften it up for the kill, Fleur! Glare, and then Knock Off! Let's see if it's hiding anything!" Danny wanted to paralyze it, and then try to see if he could get anything good from it - it had to be hiding something in that great mass of sand, and if it wasn't, the attack would still be super-effective.

Fleur let out a low, humorous hiss at these orders, clearly enjoying, in advance, what she was about to do. She blinked, and suddenly her eyes were agleam with a murderous, yellow light, which seemed to pierce through Palossand, paralyzing it, meaning that from now on, it would have a chance to not be able to attack at all - which would be good all around.

But Fleur wasn't done. Her lips twisted in a vicious, dark smile, she rushed forward, her tail crackling with black spikes of lightning, and with a strong force, she smacked her tail at Palossand, making sure to rub in the satisfaction she was getting from the hit. After that, she rushed back to Danny's side, still wearing the smirk she had on before.

Concern flares in Harper's belly as the feed goes black, and she holds her breath before letting it out as the feed snaps back, showing nothing out of the ordinary, and reading Bushwick at the same altitude and speed. thankful the issue seemed to have been technical in nature, her Pokemon safe. Thumbing transmit on the control deck of the observation camera, she signals Bushwick to come home, intending to give him a rest before sending him down the opposite sweep of beach before beginning to move inland. On his return however, she picks out a plant that had not been there on the flight out, cross-referencing the earlier footage to be certain, inserting a note with the coordinates and a link between the two timestamps for her notes.

After some time, she sees Bushwick winging his way back, whistles and waves to him, catching him again on her arm. unclipping the collar and camera, she kisses his beak in thanks, then returns him to his ball. 'it's only a little way up the coast from me,' she thinks, closing the computer and placing it and the camera control deck carefully in her backpack. might as well see what there is to see and maybe some idea as to what fuzzed the camera. besides i could use a bit of a stretch.

She slings her bag onto her back, makes sure Bushwick's pokeball is secure on her belt, and starts up the beach, boots tied over her arm, enjoying the warm water and sand between her toes.

You order Fleur to attack, and hallucinate her attacks going through. Perhaps your head trauma was causing you delusions of success instead of letting the thing dictating this to do its job. Wait, something dictating this? That sounded... weird. It must almost definitely be the concussion from earlier acting up.

Eyes aglow, the Servine tries her best to pierce through the giant sandcastle. Though, all she does is stare it down as the little flash hits green. The Palossand protects itself from the attack, having some fight left to it. A cornered beast's bite was the worst. And well, you fell straight into its fangs.

Enraged at this, your Pokemon tries to have the ghost castle knock off its antics. Her small hands swipe across the sand, trying to clear off the Pokemon of any items it may hold. While the attack proves to be super effective, the lack of a held item still manages to keep the castle alive. Shame, for it's going to eat you alive.

Using the close proximity to its advantage, the giant Pokemon soon begins to split its pain with Fleur. While she had taken a good amount, this more or less evens her out with her foe. And, well, the Palossand looked to be a lot better than before. Guess it was best to not let your delusions get to you, eh?

Your orders?

Pippi

Glad that Bushwick was okay, and that he was coming back, you notice the footage he found. Cross-referencing the current feed from the one from earlier, you decided it was best to get some field research in. You gently kiss your bird and return him to safety, before looking over the beach. Slinging your boots over your shoulder, you pack up your things and get ready to walk on the shore.

Saltwater mixes with the blackened sand, creating an interesting, yet cooling feeling on your wary feet. Best enjoy the sun and the sand before you had to head even deeper into the island. Heading further up the coast, you feel the sand getting much more dryer and powdery. The ashfall was more concentrated towards the source, after all. At the very least, the flora was soon coming into view.

While you see mostly the same small sprouts from your footage, you then see the odd plant. It was certainly a lot bigger and looked almost like a weed. approaching it to get a much better look, the weed suddenly moves. It rises through the ground, you seeing a dark indigo bulb soon standing on the dark sand. It shakes the ash off of itself and then lets out a massive yawn.

Turning to you, the plant blinks as it meets your eyes. You were a strange thing to it, but this was a most familiar thing to you. It was hard to not know about this Pokemon, considering that one of its evolutions was native of the Johto region you spend your residency in. An Oddish, a Pokemon that was often a lot more active at night than during the day. You get a few more confused blinks, the plant seeming to size you up.

What do you do?

Watching the Oddish shake itself and yawn, Harper squats down and holds out her hand toward the small creature, smiling. "Hello friend! I'm sorry to wake you so early with all the splashing!" she says quietly, hoping not to spook it. She had not been expecting a Pokemon, and remembering the odd happenings with the camera and the unidentified presence that had preceded it on the film, she worries that ending up on the wrong side of a sleep powder or stun spore would not be an enviable place to be on this particular beach. slowly removing Rauw's pokeball from her belt, she depresses the release and blinks against the burst of light as the Noibat materializes at her side.

"Good afternoon, Rauw." she smiles at the small bat, then nods her head toward the Oddish, "would you do me the biggest favor and do a Supersonic and then maybe a Screech on our friend over here? It seems like it might be a bit miffed that i woke it so early in the day."

Pippi-

The Oddish seems curious as you extend your hand out towards it. It goes up to you and seems to sniff you. It was charming in its own kind of way. Yet, you remembered its potent powders and felt that it would certainly not be something that you wanted to deal with at this time. Especially, if you were interpreting this right, it wasn't happy its nap was interrupted.

Taking out a Pokeball, you send out your Noibat. Rauw, blinking a bit, looks at the plant as he hears his orders. The little bat sends out supersonic sounds from its head ears/speakers, that washes over the plant and confuses it. You could soon see it stepping from side to side in a daze.

Then, your Pokemon continues, hitting it with a point-blank, deafening screech. This snaps the Oddish out of its confusion, and it looks terrified as it releases a cloud of Stun Spore. You and Rauw could feel the paralysis creeping up your body as the Oddish runs away. Through the cloud, you could see its form running towards the jungle, crying as it does so.

Perhaps you were too harsh on the little thing? After all, if you were woken up by a strange person who seemed friendly and then screamed at you, wouldn't you act the same as it? Well, it seemed to at least be a lead, and excuse, to start your scouting excursion into the rainforest ahead. Well, once that paralysis wears off.

What do you do?

Break it, crush it, rip it apart, and destroy. Give in to your primal instincts and become a predator... Devour and consume all who stand in your way. And ascend, to the Apex.

Yet, that was not what fate had in store for you. As you barked your orders, the Garchomp dug beneath the ground. This was a skilled hunter who could take down an entire mining team. This wouldn't be a cakewalk like those Dynamax Raid Bosses from the power spots. This was a true hunter. A creature to fear. To run away, hide, and cower. You had no one else to help.

And with your entire strategy nullified from a singular move, you watch the ground erupt beneath Finnegan. The Garchomp's dig attack allowing it to surface, slicing its way through the Thievul. As you watch the Galarian fox land next to your other Pokemon, the Garchomp continues its offense. If you were going to cripple it, it'd cripple all of you.

Seeing its tail glow with draconic energy, it swipes at your entire team. This causes it to break through their physical offenses, lowering their attack with a breaking swipe. It then charges both of its claws with ground energies, and beings to pound against the ground. The entire ground gets Bulldozed, causing you, and your team, to trip over and lose their speed. It had momentum on its side... And the ability to hide beneath the surface. To overcome the Apex Predator like this, you needed to outsmart it and force it to stay on the surface.

What do you do?
Curtis yelled out an angry growl as the Garchomp Bulldozed, both metaphorically and literally, through his team. The first thing that went through his mind is: this land-shark seems to know how to speak human- or at least it's just that clever. No doubt a master of foiling well-laid ambushes. The rage in his head just kept building, pushing his injured body and weary mind to keep fighting- to keep coming up with new strategies.

Letting a groan to get through the pain, Curtis lifted himself just enough to see the surroundings once more. He then realizes a tool he should've been using the entire time- Toby's Foresight. He cursed at himself as he realized that that was his best, and really only, option for tracking the land shark when it went underground.

But it wasn't underground right now. He could probably force it back under though. As soon as the thought crossed his mind, he was already giving the order.

Annahime, Toby Blizzard! Make this place as cold as you can!" he barked out, "Freeze it and this place solid!"

He wasn't sure how effective this would actually be, but he might as well see if he and his team can last longer in the cold than that thing.

Hoping that would be enough to drive it back momentarily, Curtis reaches into his bag and pulls out a Super Potion and crawls his way towards Finnegan while calling out to the wounded fox, "Got something here for you Finn! Come here!"

He preps the medicine for use while keeping an eye on the battlefield. Losing his Pokemon here where they could die was not a thing he wanted to allow to happen. He, he- needed it to be fighting, not dying. With any luck, the thing will back off slightly- but it's just going to go back on the offensive immediately.

He screams out, "Annahime! Stop! Get up a Protect! Now!" He had no idea if she would be able to switch moves, from offense to defense, in time. It'd be something he'd have to train.

Also, perhaps- just perhaps he could get more help back in the fight. He just see that he had Revives in his bag after all. Now, where were Lady Yang's Pokemon? He needed more bodies to throw at this problem.

ChrisClark13-

The air turns frigid as your cat and fox begin to spew out galeforce winds. SLeet, slush, and snow were all mixed within, creating a full-on blizzard that engulfed the cave. The temperature began to drop rapidly, and your wounds were stinging even further. Yet, it was your best chance in stopping the murder shark.

While your Pokemon were focused on that, you turned towards your other fox. The Thievul laid on the ground, solidly wounded. Crawling with all your might, you dragged your body across the ground. Frigid earth nipping at your fingers, each grasp bringing more and more pain. Pain. Pain. PAIN! THERE WAS ONLY PAIN!

And then warmth. Looking up, you feel the body of your Pokemon. Taking out a super potion, you spray it on the fox's wound. Finn looks healthier from the healing item and moves to stand. He was still ready to fight, even so, your mind suddenly switched to defense. Calling towards your Ninetales, you order her to switch to using Protect.

Yet, turning towards her, you notice something to your advantage. The Garchomp was completely encased in ice, frozen over from the Blizzards. From the looks in its eyes, it looks knocked out for now. Did... did you do it? Did you manage to overcome this foe? You did, for now, at the very least.

Congratulations, Annahime, Finnegan, and Toby have all gained 2 levels for beating the Garchomp!

Though, the question remained. Where was Lady Yang? Last you saw she was running through the tunnels to escape the Garchomp. Surely she would've noticed you fighting and come to assist? These questions pondered your head... until you felt heavy blunt force against your head. You drop to the ground as you see your Pokemon immediately neutralized by some unseen force and a wooden plank drop next to you. Your vision then becomes black.

Coming too, you awaken yourself in a strange room. You could see moonlight pour in from an oculus from the roof... of this almost cave-like structure. There was a cage on the far side of the room, your Pokemon knocked out within it. Then, an altar in the middle. There was a pulsating blue flame lit on a torch, and a rock creature stuck in a small bird cage to the right. TO the left... was an empty bowl. You could feel your arms tied to your back, and your legs chained down to the floor. No one was here...

What do you do?

Curtis's initial reaction to finding himself tied down was to simply try and pull himself free of his bindings. Of course, that didn't really work and caused his injuries to radiate with pain.

Okay so. Clearly, he had fallen for some sort of trap- probably Yang's doing... and if it wasn't that just spelled more trouble in the end. As well, that Garchomp seemed... a bit too... well trained? As well, it was just one of them rather than a whole damn horde of 'em like the other cave.

Curtis looked over to his Pokemon, trying to judge just how knocked out they were. After a moment of thought, he did the first thing that came to mind: moving his legs around in an attempt to rattle the chains holding him. Hopefully, the noise they made would be similar enough to his keys jingling or some other noise that would rouse his Pokemon's attention. Shame he didn't have his hands free to rustle a treat bag around- that would be sure to get Annahime's attention at least. If at least one of them awakened, he might be able to get the rest up to make an escape attempt.

Though another issue came to mind, where were his things? The items in there would no doubt be useful.

He continued rattling the chains as he tried to look and feel around to ascertain the location of his backpack.
