Dratini actually gave me less grief than I expected. I actually had a harder time catching a Psyduck than a Dratini, for some reason. And even then, it was nowhere near the struggle that was catching a Scyther. I actually had an easier time with Kangaskhan, Tauros, and Chansey than with Scyther! Hell, at one point while searching for a Scyther, I found several other Chansey. I threw a Safari Ball at one of them, despite already having one, just for the lulz. The Safari Ball caught the Chansey. I'm not even kidding.

So wait where do you find Dratini in the Safari Zone
Because if I could use a dragon rider's name for an actual dragon type that'd be sweet.

You can just fish it up in the first area of the Safari Zone with the Super Rod. Of course, you can also get it via Game Corner, a lot earlier, and with 100% less Safari Game hassle.

The real question is what else will the super rod fish up because ya know Nuzlocke and all
Also the question of where exactly the super rod is

As for the Super Rod, it's in the house just south of the east Snorlax. |

Yeah, that's pretty much how I do it, too. Here's hoping you have the kind of luck I did in my Yellow Nuzlocke- the actual first encounter for me in there was a Tauros. Which I caught. And it ended up being an invaluable member of the team in the later part of the run.

Given I had a Nidorina (Now a Nidoqueen) and a Slash-toting Sandshrew going into Mount Moon I like my chances.

Thinking about what my team will be when I get started with Blue. I'm thinking Blastoise, Victreebel, Raichu... and that's the extent of it so far. I kinda like the idea of Rapidash- I mean, high Speed plus STAB on Generation I Fire Spin? I could do worse than that. Besides which, I never use Rapidash. Also considering maybe either Butterfree or Beedrill, and of course something for Fly use.

Been bingeing Blue version and only just noticed this thread, so here's my team currently (keep in mind that I just beat Blaine lol)
Blastoise Lv. 44, Pidgeot Lv. 43, Parasect Lv. 43, Kadabra Lv. 43, Machoke Lv. 43, Tauros Lv. 43 As you can tell by my team, I am devoid of a person to trade with at the moment *sob*. Have yet to go encounter the legendary birds, and have spent far too much time in the Safari Zone and Game Corners respectively XP And yeah, if you just beat every wild Pokemon you encounter and rotate through your team, you really won't have much trouble. Have also decided to go glitchless, so we'll see how that ends up lol. Item management is hard, silly limited bag and computer space. |

Started playing Blue last night, and I'm currently almost at Vermilion City. Well, OK, I skipped ahead to there ASAP to get TM08, but now I'm almost there in terms of, like, beating the Trainers en route there, next step in the storyline being to go there, that kind of thing. Team thus far;
Missingno. lv. 20 ~Body Slam ~Sky Attack ~Water Gun ~Thunder Wave Bellsprout lv. 20 ~Vine Whip ~Wrap ~Sleep Powder ~Poison Powder Raichu lv. 20 ~Thunder Shock ~Body Slam ~Seismic Toss ~Thunder Wave Beedrill lv. 20 ~Twineedle ~Poison Sting ~Fury Attack ~String Shot Wartortle lv. 21 ~Bubble Beam ~Body Slam ~Dig ~Tail Whip Was originally considering Dodrio for my Fly user, but... well, I wound up catching a Missingno. while cloning my Body Slam TM, and, well, I couldn't resist. |

Yeah, I go glitchless in Generation I when I Nuzlocke, but almost never otherwise. As far as I'm concerned, the glitches are a part of the Generation I experience. I grew up cloning Rare Candies with Missingno. and trying to find out as much as I could about the various glitch Pokémon.

have no idea how to glitch it so no.
Also, considering restarting mine already. I got to Cerulean City, and I have a level 17 Charmeleon, a level 14 Pidgey, a level 12 Rattata, a level 12 Spearow, a level 12 Pikachu, a level 11 Nidoran-M and a boxed level 10 Clefairy, and then nothing but things under level 7. Oh, and a Butterfree and Beedrill at level 10, but they aren't great. I essentially have to solo the gym with a fucking Pikachu. Should I restart?

Also, there's Bellsprout/Oddish found just north of Cerulean (Oddish in Red, Bellsprout in Blue, both in Yellow), both of which are worth consideration for Cerulean Gym. |

We've all had trouble with that Raticate, believe me. Your rival's Rattata will have Hyper Fang here as well, but it shouldn't be nearly as big a problem as Raticate. Charmeleon should be a match for it at that level. I'm thinking level up Pikachu somewhat- paralyzing Pidgeotto will give you a nice edge, and it'll also be useful against Squirtle. And you'll have ample opportunity to heal up mid-battle, since his Abra only knows Teleport.

Idk for R/B but in yellow the Spearow he leads with is level 18 and his strongest thing, FYI.

Anyone else just not even bother picking up the Flash HM in these games anymore? The move is nigh-useless in battle, can't be deleted, and I never have a problem getting through Rock Tunnel in the dark. I know where to turn, I know where all the Trainers are at... I just don't see any point to grabbing HM05.
As you might guess, I'm almost out of Rock Tunnel in Blue. Here's the team: Missingno. lv. 26 ~Body Slam ~Sky Attack ~Thunder Wave ~Teleport Beedrill lv. 26 ~Twineedle ~Poison Sting ~Cut ~String Shot Raichu lv. 27 ~Thunderbolt ~Body Slam ~Seismic Toss ~Thunder Wave Bellsprout lv. 27 ~Vine Whip ~Acid ~Wrap ~Poison Powder Wartortle lv. 27 ~Bubble Beam ~Body Slam ~Dig ~Tail Whip |

Its not that I know where to turn, it's that I can read what little gradient texturing there is.
Fire Res Advanced makes Flash actually not horrible though, praise Z-no

So judging by all these comments, it sounds like they kept practically everything untouched from the originals? No glitch fixes or safari capture rate increases or what have you?
Duuude I'm gonna be getting Yellow (for nostalgia sake) and Red (since it's the only Gen I game I never played), and good God I'm so not looking forward to the Safari Zone lmao. Mew glitch for Yellow will be nice, but yeah catching Kangaskhan and Pinsir is probably gonna be a nightmare. Not even Scyther, Tauros, and Dragonair were that big a deal for me. Kangaskhan though ffff.
